In Path of Exile 2, a player first has extreme luck and then even more bad luck. The gamer experienced a rollercoaster of emotions
Which item is it about? In Path of Exile 2, there isn’t theoretically one most valuable item in the game. Prices are always determined by the adventures themselves. The Mirror of Kalandra is, however, probably the most lucrative item in PoE2, as it is easier to trade than many of the rare uniques.
The Mirror of Kalandra has a utility that makes it so desirable: it can “mirror” any equipment item in the ARPG. This duplicates the item, and the mirror disappears. This way, copies of the best items in the game can be created, which makes the mirrors so sought after.
They are expensive as well, because they are so rare. Many players still haven’t received a mirror after a month in the ARPG, which results in the supply on the market being quite low.

Drama about the Mirror
What happened to the character? As taepoppuri shows on Reddit in a screenshot, he received a Mirror of Kalandra. However, this great luck is overshadowed by the fact that his screen is covered with a death message.
The user received the Mirror of Kalandra by defeating monsters, but died before looting and will not receive the rare item, at least in this case. In Path of Exile 2, you lose all items that are lying on the ground upon death and may not even be able to re-enter the map. So, great luck was followed by great bad luck here.
You can see the screenshot with the death message here. He comments on his death with “Salt in the wound 💀”.
How does the community react to the tragedy? The community empathizes with the user. On Reddit, gamers mourn the lost item with the thread creator.
- crayonflop3 writes on Reddit: “A screenshot that will go down in PoE2 history.”
- emmanuel573 sends a picture of a flower on Reddit and expresses his condolences: “R.I.P.”.
- Luxanna is also shocked on Reddit: “My dear brother in Christ, I had hoped I would never see this screenshot. And here it is.”
- Masochist_pillowtalk has a clear opinion about this mechanic on Reddit: “Yeah, the thing with the one death is really annoying.”
For the player, there was no happy ending, his Mirror of Kalandra is lost. If he hadn’t died, he would have probably traded the mirror to secure some good equipment items. How to get better items through trading is explained here: Path of Exile 2 Trade: How to get your desired items without grind
