Every player sets their own tasks, should focus on their favorite games. Now a YouTuber has created a roller coaster in Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 that is so long that guests could have witnessed the creation of our universe.
What’s going on with the YouTuber? MarcelVos uploaded a YouTube video where he built an unimaginable roller coaster in Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. He calls it the Googol-Coaster.
A googol is a mathematical number represented by a 1 followed by 100 zeros. According to the YouTuber, the ride lasts not just one googol, but several (saphirsolution.com).
How does it work? The YouTuber packed the maximum allowed area of the park full of (as he calls them) “supermodules.” Each supermodule is designed to extend an already considerable ride time by a factor of 174.
100 supermodules were distributed throughout the park, resulting in a hefty ride time when calculated with all factors and the initial duration: Overall, one would arrive at a yearly number of 194 followed by 225 zeros in real-time calculation, as calculated kindly by Reddit user shanster925. For comparison: Our universe is “only” 13,800,000,000 years old (science.nasa.gov).
The YouTuber has to force the NPCs to have fun
What is the problem with the NPCs? The NPCs are an important component of the project. Guests have certain values such as satisfaction, hunger, or fatigue, which Vos used to send them on the right path to the next module.
While blue guests repeatedly ride a shorter track, red guests with a higher nausea tolerance choose the other – that is, the correct and important – track that leads to the next module.
However, to keep the many blue guests in their relaxed path, so that the red guests can make the necessary progress in the module, they need to be kept entertained.
How did the YouTuber solve the problem? Marcel Vos simply forces the blue guests to have fun and has prepared a snack stand. Once the ride is over for the blue guests, they are directed past a food truck.
As soon as a bench is nearby, the guests sit down and consume their meal, becoming happier and lining up again. This leaves little room for a red guest who also prefers to join the cycle of the blue ones. If the guests become unhappy, the cycle breaks, and the system collapses, and the many years cannot be achieved anymore.
What happens at the end of the ride? In a comment under his video, Marcel Vos also answered the question of what happens to the passengers if they make it through all those years. Quite simply: The car derails and explodes.
