The Free2Play MMO shooter Planetside 2 launches in beta on the Playstation 4 either on January 13 or January 20. This is also good news for the zombie MMO H1Z1.
Free2Play shooter Planetside 2, which has been available on PC for some time, is finally coming to Playstation 4. A closed beta is set to start on January 13 or January 20. It was not possible to achieve this in 2014 as originally planned. The possible dates were tweeted by SOE’s president John Smedley on Saturday.

For fans of the zombie MMO H1Z1, this is also good news. With the PS4 version of H1Z1, they wanted to wait until Planetside 2 is ready. Both games share the Forgelight engine. A port of H1Z1 to the Playstation will then, SOE thinks, be significantly easier once Planetside 2 has laid the groundwork. In H1Z1, early access on PC via Steam begins on January 15.
