The developers of Path of Exile 2 presented the console version of the hack & slash adventure and showcased new gameplay during the “State of Play” event on May 30, 2024.
What is known about the console version of PoE2?
- Path of Exile 2 will be released not only for Steam and Epic but also for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
- There will be a new user interface for players who are playing PoE2 with a controller.
- The menu system of the game has been completely redesigned for the console version. This is especially evident in the inventory, which is displayed in full screen and provides a preview of the character.
- For Path of Exile 2, there will be 24 key commands available, and of course, you can individually assign which command corresponds to which button on the controller. This means you can play with your friends on both PC and console and carry over your progress when switching platforms.
- Path of Exile 2 will support couch co-op, cross-play, and cross-progression on consoles.
- In couch co-op, both players can navigate through different menus like the inventory or the talent tree simultaneously.
- By the end of 2024, there should be a beta for consoles in addition to the PC beta.

What do I need to know about Path of Exile 2? The hack & slash adventure from Grinding Gear Games is the sequel to Path of Exile from 2013 and was first announced in November 2015. It was originally stated that a beta for everyone should take place in June 2024. However, this plan has been scrapped.
The monetization of the free-to-play game is supposed to be just as fair as in the first part, with an in-game shop for cosmetic offers and conveniences such as more inventory space.
The developers promise for part 2 a story campaign that should keep you engaged for about 40 to 50 hours. You can expect a vastly improved combat experience, a lot of freedom in building your builds, and the exciting choice from twelve character classes. Additionally, there will be in-depth equipment and skill systems and a fresh endgame experience.
