Tuesday – for all friends of the free-to-play MOBA Paragon, that means it’s time for the weekly update again. In addition to introducing a new hero, adjustments to the length of matches continue.
And every day the groundhog greets
After some drastic changes that were aimed at reducing match length and were referred to by the developer Epic Games itself as “hammer methods,” the approach is now to take it a bit easier and make smaller modifications gradually to avoid frustrating the player base too much. Nonetheless, the goal remains to average matches at around 35 minutes.
To achieve this, today’s update once again targets the Prime Orb bearer significantly. Not only will the poor big ball guardian, who stands so lonely in his corner, have 3,400 health points deducted again. No, he also has to face the attacks of the teams that mistreat him to get to his glowing orb more often.
This orb will now respawn after 6 minutes, potentially leading to quite a few team fights on-site. Additionally, both the initial spawn time of the black buff and its respawn time have been reduced to 4 minutes each. This grants you increased attack speed and allows you to deal more damage over time to structures.
Moreover, the tower prioritization of siege minions has been lowered, as well as their frequency of appearance. The little helpers now appear starting from minute 10 in every second wave and from minute 20 in every wave. After all the changes in recent weeks, the average game length should now be quite close.
Sharp shooting is happening
But the update brings not only dry numbers. It’s time to welcome a new hero to the battlefield. Lt. Belica, who has a history with Murdock, swings her two hot irons and lets the bullets fly.
In doing so, she maintains law and order and occasionally drains her enemies’ precious mana. So she’s anything but innocent and much more than just a nice sight in a tailored outfit. The woman has some tricks up her sleeve – so much so that she can even catapult enemies into the air.
Finally, the update brings a few new emotes that you can check out here.
