The cooperative shooter Livelock fully emphasizes action.
In an interview with mmorg.com, Lead Designer Kein Neibert spoke about his baby. It has had a kind of maiden voyage at PAX East. About 1200 people played it at the fair, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Some queued multiple times to chase the high score on the leaderboard.
At the beginning, the game was more oriented towards “action RPG”, but then it was found: “Players spend too much time in the inventory managing something. This disrupts the flow of combat!” Even though it was heavily inspired by traditional action RPGs: Livelock is, at its core, an action shooter. This was then emphasized more, RPG elements were simplified, and action was brought to the forefront.
In The Division, this evening, on June 27th, the “Special Report” livestream for the upcoming expansion “Underground” takes place. You can watch it with us.
For PC and Xbox agents, the paid “Underground” expansion is now just around the corner. Starting tomorrow after maintenance, you can enjoy exploring the Underground at your leisure.
Beforehand, Massive is holding a “Special Report” on the Twitch livestream, where they will showcase scenes from the game and talk about some features.
Livestream for Expansion 1.3 in The Division on Twitch
Below we embed the stream for you. It starts at 7 PM our time:
https://www.twitch.tv/thedivisiongame
In the last few days, the weapon balancing has been the main topic. There are already some details known about the Underground missions. However, the new raid “Dragon’s Den” has hardly been highlighted so far. We may learn more about this Incursion in the stream as well.
We will promptly publish a summary with the most exciting information from the stream today.
Special reports were already held for the last updates:
PS4 users with a “PlayStation Plus” membership may be able to enjoy these free games in July.
Every month, “PlayStation Plus” owners receive free games offered by Sony. This is one of the benefits they receive from the approximately 50-euro membership (per year). The games will be available for download on the first Tuesday of each month.
The official list of free games for July 2016 is still pending, but there is already heavy speculation about which free games players can look forward to next month.
Highly rated among PS4 owners is Bethesda’s top-notch horror game The Evil Within. This was already available last month for Japanese subscribers of the paid online service. It is therefore possible that the survival horror from Bethesda will also be available for European and American PS Plus members for free in July.
Currently, you can still download the top game NBA 2k16 for free if you have PS Plus. This is the highlight of the current month.
Additionally, there is a rumor that Resident Evil 6 will be free for the PS3. However, only the official list from Sony will ultimately show what lies behind these speculations.
The free PS Plus games for July 2016 will be available for download starting July 5.

With the upcoming update to version Alpha 2.7, the universe of the MMORPG Star Citizen will be expanded.
Currently, many players are enjoying version 2.4 of the online game, which introduced persistence into the game world. This means that, for example, damage to ships will persist, and players can equip their characters with gear that will remain with them. Furthermore, work is already in progress on additional updates.
The first star system is nearing completion
According to Cloud Imperium founder Chris Roberts, the focus is currently on finalizing the Stanton star system. A star system spanning several billion kilometers is being built around the gas giant Crusader. In order for the Cryengine to render such a large area filled with objects, some adjustments had to be made to the graphics framework. This includes the CryNetwork (the object management system of the CryEngine), which had to be completely rewritten.
While a new pirate base is being prepared for update 2.5, which serves as a hideout for criminals, update 2.7 will introduce procedurally generated planets into the game. These will populate the Stanton system. Among these planets is the already known ArcCorp, which will also be transferred to a procedural system. It will then be possible to transition seamlessly between space and planets.
Work is progressing
Additionally, work is already underway with Nyx on the next star system. However, it is still unclear whether Nyx will also be introduced with update 2.7. They also announced that they will only address the cargo and mining systems once the Stanton system is completed. No release date for update 2.7 for Star Citizen has been set yet.
A new trailer for Riders of Icarus featuring the dungeon and raid bosses from the current closed beta has been released. In it, we see all the bosses that are currently in the game.
Riders of Icarus allows us to hunt various bizarre creatures in a colorful fantasy world, which we can then use as pets, mounts, or upgrade materials. But what dangers justify such efforts? A new trailer answers this question, in which we can see the major bosses from dungeons and raids. These enemies are currently present in the closed beta as well as in the upcoming open beta starting on July 6.
First up is the vampire lord “Lord Carleone”, who initially encounters us in his human form and then transforms into a winged monstrosity. Next, we have a furry beast that somewhat resembles a yeti and rightfully dwells in an icy wasteland. A tough enemy, but it gets even worse. In another dungeon, our heroes face a cursed knight in his gigantic armor. Dark knight figures are almost standard in MMOs, and this specimen promises a proper challenge.
Fight the Titan!
However, this boss pales in comparison to the colossal ice titan at the end of the video. This giant fills the entire screen, and as a raid boss, he is a tough nut even for a large group of seasoned heroes of all classes. In our preview session for Riders of Icarus, we had the chance to face the giant and were crushed in seconds! You can see all these big boss creatures in the new trailer video, which we have embedded here for you.
What do you think of the video and the bosses? Cool and impressive or just the usual fantasy clichés of the vampire and the black knight? Let us know in the comments!

Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch is our MMO of the month for May and June.
We also cannot and do not want to escape the momentum; Overwatch is our MMO for May – and we are adding June right away. In May, there would have been the related Battleborn as competition. Meanwhile, the DLC ‘Dark Brotherhood’ for The Elder Scrolls Online was released and there was a lot happening in Division. But, let’s be honest: The big phenomenon in early summer 2016 was Overwatch.
The game has thrilled numerous players on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One – including our editors. We want to acknowledge that.
5 Reasons Why Overwatch is Our MMO of the Month
It’s once again a big campfire. In the past, the ZDF show Wetten dass… was called “the campfire of the nation”, the show where grandchildren, sons, dads, and grandmas gathered in front of the couch to watch the funny guy in a silly suit. Overwatch has a similar effect. Everywhere, fans of Diablo 3, WoW, or Starcraft noticed: Oh, my friend list is suddenly active again. And everyone is playing Overwatch. The game has gathered and united friend and acquaintance circles again. It’s a game that people can agree on.
The entry point is so easy. Some may wrinkle their noses at the comic graphics or the large hitboxes, but it is wonderfully easy to find one’s way into Overwatch and to gather first successes: It is a shooter even for non-shooter players. In a pinch, you can get your first successes with Torbjörn, Winston, or Reinhardt, even if your only aiming experience in recent years has been in front of the toilet bowl.

The rounds are short; it’s the ideal game for a quick break. A round lasts six to twelve minutes, and they go quickly. Even if it’s going poorly, you can still have fun, and if it still doesn’t work, you just switch heroes in the round and try again. And if it still doesn’t work… the next match is quickly found. It’s a game where you are not committed to anything. Jump in quickly, jump out quickly – maybe that’s exactly our zeitgeist.
It’s hell of a lot of fun with friends, Those who manage to enter quickly realize how cleverly the game is designed. Although each hero has so few abilities, they synergize surprisingly well. The “Play of the Game” keeps motivating for special achievements. The community exchanges tips in guides about Overwatch, and there are many tricks and tips to discover. And in a team, it’s especially fun while joking around with friends.
Blizzard has made a real hit with Overwatch. Our MMO of the month for May and June.
Our MMOs of the month in 2016 so far – And yes, we are using the “MMO term” here in the sense of an online game. Just as it is becoming increasingly visible.
In the MMO shooter Destiny, there will be no new subclasses for Guardians with “The Rise of Iron”.
At the launch of Destiny, each class had two subclasses, “focuses”. Since the “The Taken King” DLC, each class has an additional focus in their repertoire. The focuses provide your Guardian with various super attacks and abilities, based on the three elemental damages.
As Scott Taylor reveals in an interview with PlayStationLifeStyle, players shouldn’t hold their breath for new subclasses to come with “Rise of Iron”.
No new focuses, but other things
According to Taylor, there will be no new focuses in the fall expansion. However, other “things” are expected to come that will allow you to improve your Guardians’ power. More information will be shared later in the summer. They are already very excited about this.
Furthermore, Taylor confirmed that Bungie will introduce “similar things” to the Light Spark: This will allow Guardians to start directly with “Rise of Iron” when they purchase Destiny fresh.
The Light Spark came with “The Taken King” and brought the Guardians directly to level 25.
Gigantic is conducting a stress test in June for PC and Xbox One.
Gigantic has had a tumultuous development history. As a Windows10-only game and later for Xbox One, it attracted attention with its quirky aesthetics, the massive guardians, and the gameplay concept. Then, like other hero shooters (Battleborn, Paladins), it got caught in the bug wave of Blizzard’s worldwide hit Overwatch and the bad news started piling up.
However, it has been suspiciously quiet around Gigantic in recent months. Now, on June 30, a stress test will take place on PC and Xbox One for selected players. It looks like the project is gaining momentum again. By the way, they see themselves as a “free-to-play third-person MOBA.”

The upcoming space simulation No Man’s Sky is in the final stages of development. Sean Murray looks forward to the launch positively.
No Man’s Sky is a highly anticipated space survival game set in an almost infinite, procedurally generated galaxy. A few weeks ago, it was reported that the game needs to be postponed to August to give it the necessary polish. Some “fans” could hardly believe this and even issued death threats.
Sean Murray, the founder of the developer studio Hello Games, reacted calmly to these severe reactions, apologized for the postponement, but also provided understandable reasons. He is now addressing the community with a current status report.
Hello Games is working “super, super hard on No Man’s Sky”
According to Murray, the game is getting better and better. The components are gradually coming together. The team works late into the night and starts early in the morning again.
No Man’s Sky is much bigger than we can imagine, says Murray. It is the most challenging task he has ever worked on. Such a game has never been attempted by anyone before, and the team behind it is smaller than one might think. The expectations, however, are enormous and continuously growing.
Despite everything, the development is “really going well.” They only have one chance to create No Man’s Sky, and they don’t want to mess it up. Therefore, Murray is becoming a little more confident every day that it was the right decision to postpone the game.
He is very proud of what they are doing. And he looks forward to when the community holds the game in their hands:
The universe will soon belong to you.
No Man’s Sky will be released on August 10 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
Here comes Michael J Fox straight from 1985 into the setting of GTA 5 Online.
In GTA 5, there is a new Easter egg that transforms you into a form that is very similar to “Big Foot”. The grand finale of this Easter egg is a battle with you as Big Foot against the beast that bears a striking resemblance to Michael J Fox in the movie Teen Wolf from 1985.
Teen Wolf in Director Mode in GTA 5
In order to play as the Teen Wolf in single-player mode in GTA 5, you must first collect all the golden peyotes. You need to have completed the game 100%, finished the “Strangers and Freaks” mission “The Last”, and collected all 27 peyote plants. The golden peyotes appear at 7 different locations between 5:30 AM and 8:00 AM when the weather is set to “Foggy” or “Snow”.

In the video, you can see the various spawn points of the golden peyotes, both on the map and at the actual locations in the game – so you don’t have to search extensively to find the plants. After collecting the last peyote plant, you should definitely stay in the hallucination to get closer to the Easter egg. By pressing CTRL or L3 on the controller, you let Big Foot grunt. A wild animal-like “response” will come from a distance that you should follow.
In total, you will find 9 different “event” points with dead NPCs, dead animals, or crashed cars on your way. The path you must follow, like the events themselves, is randomly generated. Ultimately, the last grunt will lead you to a plane wreckage site in Blaine County. The video recommends using a God Mode or a PC trainer for the upcoming battle. At minute 14:10, you will see in the video the path you should take to find the “beast”.
Once you have killed the “beast”, you can choose “Wild Animal” (possible translation from the original: Wild Animal) in Director Mode. Then press Left Shift + CTRL or L3 + R3 simultaneously to transform. This is what the new gameplay experience looks like:

In the shooter Battlefield 1, ten new details are known that will influence gameplay.
Since the strong appearance at E3 2016, Battlefield 1 has been considered one of the most promising titles of the year. Currently, an alpha testing phase is underway, which is accessible only to very few users.
The YouTuber and Battlefield expert Westie is among the lucky ones who were able to extensively test an early version of the shooter. In a video sponsored by EA, he presents 10 gameplay details that are quite exciting.
Thus, he clears up some ambiguities and false reports that were circulating after E3.
10 Gameplay Details for Battlefield 1
The following are the aspects mentioned in the video:
Battlefield 1 will support “High Tick Rate Servers” at release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The servers for the PC version will run at least at 60Hz. This allows for a smooth and fair gaming experience in multiplayer, as the servers can deliver events to your screen more quickly.
Tank takedowns are not possible in multiplayer. Although this has been read on various sites in recent days, DICE has confirmed that this feature will not be implemented. “Tank takedowns” refer to actions where a single soldier can incapacitate a tank, for example by climbing onto the tank and throwing a grenade inside.
The “recoil effects” from Battlefield 4 will not return. This means that the recoil will be animated more heavily than it actually impacts the gameplay. All recoil effects in Battlefield 1 will depend directly on the gameplay. There is no “extra recoil” to make it look more action-packed. What you see on the screen in Battlefield 1 is what counts.
In Battlefield 1, bombers and fighter planes can drop bombs. There are two types: “heavy bombs” that explode on impact and “smaller bombs” that explode on the ground with a slight delay – similar to grenades. The fighter planes only carry the smaller “timed explosive bombs.” There are rumors that all bombs explode with a delay. However, this is not the case.
The weather affects your visibility. During rain and fog, you can move stealthily across the battlefield. Especially snipers will have problems in bad weather.
Battlefield 1 will have 3D spotting. You must aim at and actively mark enemies for them to be marked.
Passive marking will not be available in Battlefield 1.
There areno weapons that can be utilized by multiple classes. Each class has its own arsenal of weapons.
In BF1, there will be parachutes.
You cannot block melee attacks. Whoever initiates melee first will win the duel.
You can watch this information decorated with fresh gameplay material in the following video:

In The Division, the M1A sniper rifles are being nerfed with Update 1.3. Will we now have to rely on other snipers?
Basically, since the launch of the MMO shooter in March, agents have sworn by an AUG submachine gun for close range and an M1A sniper for longer distances. These two weapons quickly crystallized as the best guns in the game.
With Update 1.3, Massive is now targeting the most popular weapons and nerfing them so that other guns become interesting for players. Already, we have dealt with the impacts of the nerf on the AUG and the Vector. We now take a look at the M1A – which is (still) considered the best sniper in the game.
How the M1A nerf affects gameplay
Once, the M1A could be used as a “monster headshot machine” because it has a high rate of fire but also a strong base damage and received incredible precision with the bugged perk “Balanced”. “Balanced” now works as intended, but there are still ways and means to greatly improve the M1A’s precision, such as with the perk Capable.
The power of the M1A lies in that you can pump many devastating hits very precisely into enemies. And the developers are now addressing this precision.
The nerf causes the crosshair to expand much further when multiple shots are fired in succession. This should make it impossible to accurately target enemies at long distances – unless one takes more time until the crosshair is drawn back together.
However: Even now, the M1A’s crosshair spreads far apart. This is due to the “tricks” like Capable that greatly enhance this weapon. When you use a skill, this perk improves your weapon handling for several seconds, allowing you again to take quick and precise shots.
The YouTuber Skill Up believes that this nerf will not be enough to shift the focus to other precision rifles.
Precision rifles in The Division can be classified into two categories: Either the sniper is rapid-fire, or it has high base damage. Since the M1A combines the best of both categories, it will likely remain the agents’ first choice for sniping. It might have been more sensible to enhance the other precision rifles instead.

The YouTuber sees the strategy here that Massive wants to shift the focus to light machine guns with the nerf. These also have a strong optimal range and can become powerful and an alternative for longer distances with the upcoming damage buff.
What do you think? How will the significance of the M1A change?

In Destiny the question arises: What about the old raids? Will they be reworked?
The US site Kotaku has two Destiny experts on board and has had insider stories from the Destiny realm in the past. The interview with the Creative Director of Rise of Iron, Chris Barrett, and Bungie’s Marketing Head Eric Osborne was one of the places where “straight talk” about Destiny was discussed. We have filtered out some highlights.
If the old raids come back, they should feel fresh
Bungie has received fan feedback suggesting that they should revive the old raids “The Glassed Chamber” and “Croatoan’s End”. However, players also want new content, new raids. And that’s what Bungie is currently focusing on.
There are whispers that players wish “Just increase the light level,” but if they revisit old content, they will do it like with the strikes: they want it to feel fresh and give players a reason to revisit.
Also in the Playboy interview about Destiny (which we have already reported on) the topic came up. It was said that they believed it was better to spend the time creating “something new”. However, the revival of “old raids” is something they are discussing. They also do not yet know exactly what they will do after “Rise of Iron” to continue supporting Destiny.
Last-gen consoles, Custom PvP and more
More info from the Kotaku interview:
They had to part ways with the old consoles because currently “the basket is full.” To add something new now, they would have had to remove something old. Without the “Last-Gen”, they do not have to do that and can add new features and graphical improvements.
Players shouldn’t expect huge changes for Rise of Iron. They are quite satisfied with where Destiny stands after the April update. They want to bring new content, a new story, new stuff. Further announcements are expected throughout the summer.
Regarding “Custom PvP Matches” – Bungie did not want to comment. However, they say they are very excited to introduce the new crucible mode. “Custom PvP Matches” – friends could play against each other and it would also enable esports. Some believe this could be one of the new features Bungie brings. But, as mentioned, no comment. You hear that more often lately regarding the crucial questions.

In Final Fantasy XIV, major news about the next expansion is expected: in Las Vegas and in October.
Naoki Yoshida, the mastermind behind Final Fantasy XIV, has said a lot in an interview with a Japanese magazine that one can infer will bring news about 4.0 in October – and that will likely be the new expansion.
The big fan festival for Final Fantasy XIV will take place on October 14 and 15 in Las Vegas. Square Enix considers it important and appropriate to announce the biggest news during the fan festival meetings along with the fans. 3.0 “Heavensward” was also first introduced at a fan festival in 2014.
Major Changes with Patch 3.5 in Final Fantasy XIV
Before 4.0 arrives at some point, the world of Final Fantasy XIV will have already changed significantly. According to Yoshida, players can expect “major changes” with 3.5. The patches 3.4 and 3.5 will mark the beginning of a new story.
Yoshida did not want to reveal anything more about the new expansion: Spoiler alert.

While the male Dwarves fit the typical fantasy ideal, the female representatives of the race have become rather cute and adorable. The Warborn, on the other hand, are completely different. The men here are massive hulks who probably spend all day at the gym. The female Warborn, however, are quite sexy, showing (at least in the trailer) a lot of skin and resemble a succubus more than a destructive demon. It’s a rogue who thinks of Castanic from TERA…
In Korea, update 3.0 is supposed to go live next month. A date for the western servers under Trion Worlds is still pending. We will keep you updated as soon as new information is available.

What can we expect in Overwatch this year? We have created a list of the plans that Blizzard has already revealed: The Overwatch roadmap.
Overwatch has been running smoothly for a good month now. However, many fans are wondering what news and adjustments will come to players in the coming months. The colleagues from pcgamesn.com have compiled all developer statements and organized them into a timeline. We have translated the most important points for you.
This Month – Golden Weapons and the Ranked System
Since Blizzard has not yet made any new announcements, it is assumed that the ranked play system will still be released in June along with the golden weapons. The “typical” date would be the upcoming Wednesday, June 29. Typically, Blizzard tackles major patches during maintenance on Wednesday mornings.
Changes in “Summer” – Skins, Comeback Bonus, Better Play of the Game
Further innovations are expected to come to players in the summer. This includes a large number of new skins and other cosmetic customization options. Solo players, in particular, will be pleased with the change to the “Comeback Bonus” – those who join a game that is already in progress will no longer have to fear seeing a defeat in their statistics.
The “Play of the Game” is also set to be further improved. Blizzard is exploring ways to make it even more cinematic and better showcase supports, such as a Zarya’s ultimate setup.
In addition, there are numerous small points that could potentially come. This includes support for 21:9 screens and the ongoing fight against cheaters and hackers. In “Quick Play,” it should also be possible to see who among the enemies (and allies) signed up as a group.
And then there is the buff for the hero D.Va, which is not yet fully developed. Blizzard is currently exploring different solutions for this.
Rest of the Year – New Cinematics, New Heroes, New Maps
For the rest of the year, “bigger” innovations are on the horizon. New heroes and maps are expected to be released in 2016. There are no specific statements regarding these two aspects yet, although early hints point to “Sombra” as a new hero – a new support sniper.
Since the animated shorts of Overwatch were very popular, Blizzard has already announced that there will be a second “season” of these films. However, it is not yet known whether these will feature only new heroes or also existing characters.
Many players wished for an opportunity to gift Overwatch to their friends through the Battle.net shop. Kaplan found this request “interesting,” and since it is already possible for many other items, it seems just a matter of time before players can share Overwatch with friends.
How strong are the enemies? Everything is revealed in Ranked Play.
Lastly, the Overwatch team hopes to make changes to the “Custom Game,” that is, the matches created by players. They want to eventually allow experience points to be distributed in these rounds, as large groups (7 players or more) currently prefer to play in 2 separate rounds to avoid missing out on experience.
Please keep in mind that all these points are not set in stone and could still change. It is a preliminary roadmap for Overwatch in 2016. It is quite possible that we will see new maps and heroes as early as summer – these are all just rough dates that Blizzard is aiming for. Promises are rarely made anymore, as quality is to be ensured.
To be ready for the Ranked System, check out our various game guides that we have prepared for you:
A patch from Black Desert has changed some features of the game. Apparently, hackers now stand no chance.
Skill queries in Black Desert are now server-sided
After a long wait, it seems that Black Desert has successfully dealt a significant blow against hackers and cheaters. As several players report, the number of hackers and cheaters encountered has drastically decreased. The reason for this is likely the patch from last week, which has moved the handling of skills and cooldowns to the server, preventing software from dubious third parties from manipulating these values.
But what has actually changed? In MMORPGs, servers and game clients are in constant communication with each other. Some data is processed by the server, while others are handled by individual clients, so each side only “accepts” what comes as input from the other side. Skills and cooldowns were previously calculated by the respective client, meaning one only had to “simply” manipulate the local game data to gain an advantage. Apparently, these calculations are now “server-sided,” meaning they are performed directly by the server and are thus secure against manipulation.
This has not yet been confirmed by Daum, and there is currently no official statement regarding these changes; however, the success of this measure speaks for itself.
Just last week, there was also a new banwave, during which offenders were permanently expelled from the game.
The only issue that still seems really “acute” is the use of bots. The use of such programs was not curbed by the patch, and players are urged to continue reporting suspicious behavior.
Overall, in recent years, there has been a vibe of “Let’s see how long this lasts? Will the license be extended again or is it ending in 2017?” regarding Lord of the Rings Online. The negative comments are piling up, even on our articles about Lord of the Rings Online. The peak of the game, it is often said, was reached with “The Mines of Moria” many years ago, and since then the quality of new game content has been declining.
Patch 18.2. brings raid “Throne of the Horror Lord” to Lord of the Rings Online
Therefore, this is an important sign now that the new raid “Throne of the Horror Lord” is being opened with patch 18.2.
Content designer Ryan Plenk has shared insights in a developer diary, explaining the background to the raid. We are now switching back from the instance cluster model, which has been frequently used since 2012, to this content format that has many fans among the players of Lord of the Rings Online. The diary is also available in German.
It is clear that this is intended to be a classic raid for 12 players. 6 boss fights await the companions.
The update 18.2. with the raid is supposed to be released “soon”.
What do you think of this new old direction that the Free2Play classic Lord of the Rings Online is taking?
