We at Mein-MMO.de are hosting a blitz tournament for the release of “The Rise of Iron” in Destiny. There are cool prizes to win!

Yes, Guardians, you heard that right! Since September 13, Private Matches and Custom Games have been available in Bungie’s MMO shooter. This PvP feature opens the door to tournaments – and we want to walk through this door with you and catch the tournament vibe!

Since this is our first tournament that we are organizing, it will take place with a manageable number of participants and will be wrapped up quickly. It doesn’t have a “test character”, because you can scoop up great prizes!

If the tournament is a great success, we will hold more significantly larger tournaments in the future. Below you will find all information about the “Mein-MMO” tournament for the launch of Rise of Iron.

All the information and participation conditions for the tournament (September 14)

General information:

• The MMO shooter Destiny will be played. You need to have the “The Taken King” expansion installed. The matches will take place in the Crucible – Private Match – (6v6).
• This is a purely online tournament.
• You must be at least 16 years old to participate.
• Platform: PS4

Rough schedule:

• A total of 8 clans will be able to compete.
• It starts immediately with knockout phases: Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, Final.
• Only one match will be played per round. There is no “warm-up game”. The winner moves on to the next round.

The tournament is scheduled to take place before the RoI launch (September 20), which is why we are providing a tight schedule. Therefore, before you register, make sure you have enough time in the coming evenings.

Registration for the tournament

Before you register your clan:

• You first select a clan leader. Detailed information on their tasks can be found at the end of this article.
• You need to have time this week. The matches should be scheduled for the evenings, preferably between 5 PM and 10 PM. So think about whether you can gather enough people (6) who have enough time in the evenings this week before registering.
• All clan members must have a stable internet connection.
• Once again: The participating clan members must be at least 16 years old.

The clan leader registers the clan by writing “Registration for the Destiny Tournament and acceptance of the rules” in the comments. They also provide the Clan Name and their PSN ID. Note: This PSN ID will be mentioned in the tournament articles, so it is public! Only the clan leader provides their own PSN ID.

We will then randomly draw which registered clans can participate. You will be informed on this page – and on our Facebook page – about it.

The specific process of a match

Game Settings:

• Mode: Conflict (6v6)
• Map: Pantheon
• Score limit: 15,000
• Time limit: 30 minutes
• Light level: Level advantages enabled

Process of a match:

• Once the matches are set, the respective clan leaders will contact each other (preferably via PSN). They will independently set a specific date and time for the match (we recommend between 5 PM and 10 PM).
• You start Destiny and select private matches in the Crucible.
• The first-mentioned clan hosts, the other clan joins.
• The specified settings are set, and the match can begin.
• Play fair! Cheaters will be excluded from this tournament and all future ones without warning.
• After the match, both clan leaders must send the result to the following email address, preferably with a screenshot (by no later than 11:59 PM of the last match day): [email protected]

• If a clan makes a false statement, video/screenshot evidence will be used. Therefore, it is advisable to press the share button after the match and save the video. If a clear winner cannot be determined this way, a draw will decide. False statements will result in the clan and all members being banned from all future tournaments.
• If no result occurs, the clan that contacted us via email stating there was no response from the other clan will proceed.
• We will compile the results and announce the matchups for the next round.

Notes for the clan leader:

Each clan designates a clan leader. This individual takes on the responsibility of communicating with Mein-MMO.de and the other clan leaders. They set a specific time for the match, host it, and send the results to the designated email address. They also bear responsibility for their clan and ensure that all clan members are informed of the rules.

In Destiny today, on September 14th, the Weapon Day takes place. The Gunsmith brings you your orders and showcases his fresh inventory.

In the last hours, a lot has happened in Destiny. Last night, the Private Matches went live, so from now on fun matches and tournaments can take place. You have control over the Crucible.

Additionally, Bungie worked on the Companion App this morning. These maintenance tasks are already completed and should solve some issues with the Clan feature. Furthermore, the patch notes for update 2.4.0 have been updated, including the nerfs to Titans.

Moreover, the Community Manager DeeJ announced that they are still investigating the graphics issue with the “granulation effect”. A hotfix is expected in the future.

Today is Weapon Day as well. Banshee-44 will gladly welcome you in the Tower. Which exotic weapons he has for you, as you increase his reputation, you can read here. Since update 2.4.0, he also sells armor materials.

Note: After the launch of “Rise of Iron,” we will see how interesting the Gunsmith will still be. He will not receive fresh weapons. It will likely be more worthwhile to report weekly on other vendors, such as Tyra Karn.

In Destiny, since the introduction of Private Matches (Sept 13), there is a dead ghost on every Crucible map. We will show you all locations of these Ghost Fragments here.

On the evening of September 13, shortly after 8 PM, Bungie announced: Private Matches and Custom Games are now available for all Guardians! You only need a PS4 or an Xbox One and the Destiny game. No pre-order of “Rise of Iron” is needed.

The Guardians did not wait long and rushed into the Crucible to try out all sorts of cool things. They flew around in Rift mode as Spark Bearers with their Sparrow – or suddenly found dead ghosts!

When the first user wrote in the reddit forum: “Hey guys, I found a dead ghost on the map!”, the Guardians went crazy. The great ghost hunt was on, and already after a short time, once private matches were live, all new ghost fragments were discovered.

As soon as you revive a dead ghost, you will receive a Grimoire card. The respective ghost fragment is named after the map where you find the ghost.

Considered particularly tricky is the ghost on the map “The Burning Shrine”. For this one, you need to momentarily leave the map to reach it.

In the MMO shooter Destiny, the “event” before the launch of “The Dawning of the Iron Lords” has started. Private Matches are available for everyone – on PS4 and Xbox One.

Weeks ago, rumors were circulating in the community that something great would happen before the release of “Rise of Iron.” A pre-event, similar to the “treasure key quest” before the “House of Wolves” expansion, was speculated – possibly an invasion of the Splicers into the known Destiny universe.

Many Guardians assumed that this event could start with update 2.4.0, which went live last week. This update did bring some changes to the game, such as the hunt for the Unlawful or significant weapon balance changes, but no major “event.” And now it is officially known: It is the Private Matches that are available for all Guardians – at least on PS4 and Xbox One. 

Private Games Not Just for MLG

Two weeks ago, DeeJ announced in the weekly letter to the community that “Major League Gaming,” abbreviated MLG, will host a live stream on September 13 at 7 PM, in which they will showcase “the true meaning of war.” A private game in the new Control Mode, a best-of-five matchup, will be played. After the 5 matches were played, it was announced: From now on, the private games are available.

Today around 8:15 PM, the Private Matches went live. Dive into the fray now and challenge your pals. To do this, select the Crucible in the orbit. About in the middle of the screen is the “Private Match” selection. Now you can set the game options and off you go.

As game settings, you can set the game mode, the map, the score limit, the time limit, and the light level advantages.

Update: Reports are currently flooding in that dead Ghosts are being found on the maps. Have fun searching!

In the MMO shooter Destiny, the sandbox team at Bungie has spoken out to address the “Ghost Bullet” issue with handguns.

In recent days, a video has been circulating online demonstrating ghost bullets with handguns. We recently reported on these “Ghost Bullets”. This term describes the phenomenon where shots miss the target despite aiming accurately – and lag was not to blame. This issue is particularly common with handguns, especially with the Last Word, which has an extremely low range.

As this issue gained significant attention, the community manager DeeJ posted a statement from the sandbox team in the Bungie forum. Their statement: Yes, this phenomenon is real, but it is intended. Nevertheless, they want to investigate and adjust it.

When “Randomness” Becomes “Accuracy”

The YouTuber’s thesis was that precision and accurate aiming with handguns are based on randomness. Sometimes the bullets hit, sometimes they don’t. According to Bungie, the term “Ghost Bullets” is solely a community creation, although luck and randomness are indeed factors in play. Internally, they refer to it as “accuracy” (Accuracy). This is a value that is hidden in the range value of each weapon in Destiny.

However, they do not want to overwhelm the game with numbers, which is why this accuracy value is not visible in-game. It is meant to be a shooter, not a numbers game. Therefore, the goal is for guardians to be able to make assumptions about the characteristics of a weapon based on its appearance and how it functions. One might assume that the length of the barrel or the stock affects the precision of a weapon type. This way, it is more enjoyable to choose a weapon than to sift through confusing numbers.

In summary: Handguns have a relatively short barrel and no stock, therefore they do not have as high precision at greater distances as a scout rifle or a sniper rifle.

The sandbox team acknowledges that handguns can feel inconsistent and/or frustrating during high-skill battles. They have clearly heard and understood the community and are now looking at how to improve the experience.

However, it is unlikely that they will completely remove the accuracy value from the game. Instead, Bungie is looking for alternative options to “balance” handguns. Destiny is a game that continues to evolve thanks to player feedback. Therefore, they ask that players continue to provide constructive feedback to Bungie.
