Players believe that skins in loot boxes from Overwatch have become rarer – but is that true?
Time and again, Blizzard holds specific events in the hero shooter Overwatch that showcase special skins, emotes, and other in-game items. These cosmetic upgrades can be obtained through loot boxes, which can be earned by playing diligently or purchased directly in the shop – for real money.
However, during the recent “Year of the Rooster” event, there were some complaints in the official forums and on Reddit. According to the experience of some frustrated players, the loot boxes dropped significantly fewer skins this time than in previous events. Many players reported that they only received voice lines, emotes, or other “unimportant” items after several weeks.
Jeff Kaplan, the Game Director, did not hesitate and immediately joined the discussion:
“The drop rates for Summer Games, Halloween Terror, Winter Wonderland, and Year of the Rooster are identical.”
This time, it seems to be just particularly vocal players who are complaining about their misfortune.
Cortyn says: It’s somewhat funny because I also felt like I wasn’t getting any skins during the “Year of the Rooster” weeks for the first time, even though I played quite diligently. Although I earned somewhere between 20 and 30 loot boxes, there was only one skin this time – which is a poor rate for me. But that’s how several individual cases accumulate, giving the impression that Blizzard has “secretly changed something” – even if it isn’t true.
The servers are down for The Division today, on February 16th. Maintenance work is ongoing for several hours. The State of the Game is expected today.
Today, Thursday, is the weekly server maintenance in The Division. In the past few days, the developers worked on the servers, restarted them, and tackled performance issues and lag. Now the work continues.
At 9:30 AM, the game servers on PS4, Xbox One, and PC will be shut down. The expected downtime is three hours, so the maintenance should be completed around 12:30 PM.
No changelog will be provided this week. Therefore, there will be no noticeable changes to the player experience today.

After receiving negative feedback from the community regarding archaic items in Diablo 3, the developers made some changes.
With the PTR patch notes for Patch 2.5.0 in Diablo 3, the Blizzard team introduced some changes that will soon be activated in the game. This includes archaic items that are said to have better stats than ancient items but are also harder to find. The community, including Blizzard co-founder David Brevik, criticized these changes. In the meantime, there is a new version of the archaic items that Blizzard is now presenting to the community.
Archaic Items in Patch 2.5.0.43687
After receiving a lot of negative feedback about the Primal Ancients, Blizzard announced changes to the items. An update on the PTR servers shows the new versions of the items. Archaic items no longer have higher stats than ancient items but are on par with the previous items.
The archaic items are much rarer than ancient items and have perfect Ancient stats on all affixes and the legendary enchantment.
These Primal Ancients drop only for players after they have completed a Greater Rift level 70 (Solo)successfully. You must unlock the GR70 in the game modes Normal, Hardcore, Season, and non-Season.
Stats on the items are specifically rolled for the class with which you first acquire the respective item.
If you salvage archaic items, you will receive 15 forgotten souls for it.
Archaic items are therefore the best form of legendary or set items that you can find in the game with a low chance. This way, you can assemble the perfect set for your characters without having to reroll much. As a result, the items are not stronger than ancient items but are directly equipped with the best stats.

John Smedley is considered one of the key figures in the MMORPG genre. He has now landed at Amazon. He leads a team there and is working on a new project.
John Smedley was the somewhat brash but quite charming president of Sony Online Entertainment for 12 years. He was involved in classics of the MMORPG genre like Everquest and Star Wars Galaxies. As the head of SOE, he was also heavily involved with Planetside and H1Z1 . Just before he left, he announced that Everquest Next would blow everyone away. That would definitely not be vaporware.
Everquest Next was ultimately cancelled.
There was also a longer ugly confrontation involving Smedley with a group of “hackers” that included bomb threats, insults, and DDoS attacks. Ultimately, this and a reorientation at SOE led to Smedley’s departure from his long-standing studio, which had already separated from Sony and was operating as “Daybreak Game Company”.

Optimize Your DPS
By the way, keep in mind that one-handed weapons only reveal their full DPS potential when you perform an attack combination. By attacking again after your first hit, your barbarian performs a backhand strike that does the same damage but is faster.
With two-handed hammers, on the other hand, you spam the quick attack with the right mouse button, as this is faster and still does the same damage as the wide swing on the left mouse button.

A feature as a one-hit wonder. In Hearthstone the tri-class mechanic is likely to be discarded.
The Streets of Gadgetzan introduced several new mechanics in Blizzard’s card game Hearthstone. The tri-class mechanic has likely had the biggest impact on the game. It introduced several cards that could be used by three classes simultaneously. As a special bonus, these cards allowed the targeted use of class cards from other classes, which enabled numerous new combinations.
Despite everything, there are only a handful of cards for each faction – meaning the Cabal, Jade Lotus, and Fungalmancers. There is still plenty of room to expand this mechanic and add new effects. What is Glory in For Honor?
If you have already spent the initial hours in For Honor, you will have encountered the term “Glory”. Glory refers to the progression system in the game.
You start at Glory level 0 and Level 1. As you collect experience points – by completing matches and daily tasks – you level up. After Level 20, you will advance in Glory by one level.
In short: There are a total of 30 Glory levels and 20 levels at each stage. Glory indicates how experienced you are. Each hero has their own progression system. At numerous levels, there are rewards when you reach them, such as colors for your gear or symbols for your banner. You can view your character’s progress in the heroes menu.

Skyforge is still instanced. But over time the systems have been simplified and clarified. The storyline is now more linear. Classes are unlocked gradually, allowing you to clearly determine the rise of your hero to godhood. The rewards are fairer, and the progression is easier to follow.

ARK: Taming with Tranquilizers
To tame the dino of your choice, you need to knock it unconscious. Then, you will stun it and give it its favorite food. To do this, simply place the food in the dino’s inventory.
With these methods and weapons, you can knock out dinos:
Hit the dino with your fists. This is still feasible for small creatures like the Dodo. Overall, this is the least effective method.
It is easy to accidentally kill the dino when you only want to knock it out. Be careful not to injure it too much. No unnecessary dino cruelty!
The dino must remain unconscious during taming
Make sure the dino stays unconscious while you tame it. The dino has a bar that indicates how close it is to waking up.
This bar decreases along with the “Torpor” of the creature. To keep it unconscious, feed it narcoberries or use narcotic ointment. The narcotic ointment is more effective than the berries. The dino will not eat these voluntarily. You will need to force it to take the narcotics. Place them in its inventory and click “use item” or “remote use item”.
The dino will eat food willingly; you just need to put it in its inventory. What food the dino likes best varies from creature to creature. If the dino raises its head, it eats, and the “Taming Bar” increases. When the animal’s hunger reaches a certain value, it will start to eat. The dino will always wait long enough until the bar is depleted to its favorite food.

Taming Dinos with Kibbles – The Most Effective Method
All creatures in ARK Survival Evolved prefer to eat Kibbles as soon as their hunger drops below 80. Kibbles are recipes that you create in a Cooking Pan.
Typically, Kibbles consist of:

Fiber
Mejoberries
Water
Another ingredient like meat, jerky, or fruits
There are a few exceptions of dinos that do not have Kibble as their favorite food. However, this is a very small percentage.
ARK: Taming Effectiveness – The Taming Effectiveness Determines the Strength of Dinos
The “Taming Effectiveness” indicates what bonus the creature receives after you have successfully tamed it. Every dino starts with an effectiveness of 100% and loses percentages every time it eats food from its inventory. The Taming Effectiveness also decreases when the dino takes damage while unconscious.
The percentages of Taming Effectiveness remain highest by giving the dino its favorite food. So it’s worth making Kibbles. The taming effectiveness determines the number of bonus levels and statistics of the dino after taming. If you achieve an effectiveness of over 90%, you will get a strong companion.

Valeera receives a damage buff and many of her skills receive slight improvements.
Murky was at the very bottom of the previous tier list. Therefore, he has been massively improved, gains more health, and all his skills have been buffed. Additionally, he will receive new talents, including one that gives him more health after hatching.
Even Lúcio receives a slight damage buff at release compared to the test server version, and some of his skills are slightly improved.

IGN: The combat system of For Honor is praised; it is described as the most tactically complete and flexible version of a melee combat that the author has ever experienced.
PC Gamer praises the brutality and weight of the battles, although they can also feel cumbersome. For Honor is definitely an interesting game.

This week, the changes in Pokémon GO will be unlocked. Look forward to the following changes:
More Pokémon: Over 80 new Pokémon from the 2nd Generation can be discovered in the game. Additionally, there will be Pokémon with different genders available in the game.
New Evolutions: With the update, you can expect more opportunities to evolve your monsters in Pokémon GO. Some Pokémon from the Kanto region can now evolve into Pokémon from the Johto region. At the different PokéStops, you will find special evolution items that are needed for the evolutions of the Pokémon. You should save these candies for 2nd Generation evolutions.
Encounter Gameplay: The encounters with Pokémon in the wild have been revamped. The gameplay now visually looks different and offers you an item carousel from which you can directly select items such as berries and Poké Balls.
New Berry Types: There are now two new types of berries available at PokéStops: The Nanab Berry and the Sanan Berry. A Pokémon that receives a Nanab Berry will move more slowly. The Sanan Berry doubles the amount of candies you receive when your next capture attempt is successful.
New Avatars and Customizations: You can now change your avatar visually in more detail. Hats, shirts, pants, and other items can be customized.

The Historian was introduced in The Division with Update 1.2. It is based on the M1A sniper rifles, but was never among the top weapons – because the first-wave version of the M1A was significantly stronger due to better talents.

Explosive projectiles are in the Historian
The Historian has a magazine size of 10 and a decent fire rate of 300. However, the base damage is a bit lower:
Two talents of the Historian are random, while the unique talent is fixed and always active:
History Repeats: Each bullet stays lodged in the enemy and explodes one second later. The explosion deals 700% of your weapon value.
On the PTS for 1.6, this talent initially relied on skill power, later it was changed to weapon power. Important: It’s not the DPS value, but the weapon value that matters.
This means: For example, if you have a weapon value of 7000, the explosion deals 49,000 damage (so 7 times). It doesn’t matter if you shoot them in the body or in the head – this damage value remains the same. This explosive damage works in addition to the “normal” damage when you hit the enemy.
In short: If you boost your weapon value, the Historian deals large amounts of damage. The explosion can stagger enemies, giving you additional advantages.

Until the launch of 1.6 and Last Stand, Massive will tweak a few dials, and the final patch notes are not yet known – so we will have to wait and see how the Historian ultimately performs. The talent is certainly interesting.

In the fight against trolls and haters, more and more operators are throwing in the towel. How can we counteract this?
I actually wanted to vent about Hearthstone and some cards that particularly annoy me today, and I had even thought of some extremely clever sayings for it (“We’re gonna be rich, bitch!”)… or something like that. However, since Blizzard announced changes to the Shaman and the Buccaneer last night, I will hold back on that for now.
So let’s talk about another favorite topic of mine: the behavior of people on the internet. And it seems that more and more operators of large portals are simply throwing in the towel. Like IMDb, a large database about movies and film reviews, which is closing its forum these days – because they simply can no longer cope with the onslaught of trolls, even if they phrase it more politely.
I often imagine an apocalyptic campfire 50 years in the future, where you sit with the survivors of the impending zombie apocalypse in the ruins of a city, talking to the children and grandchildren who then ask:
“Wow, you had this Internet! You had the opportunity to connect with all people around the world anytime and exchange ideas. Mustn’t that have been an incredibly great, enriching experience? Couldn’t you learn so much from each other, like never before in the history of mankind?”
And then eventually someone would ask: “What did you do then?” and one would have to shamefully reply:
“We all showed our worst sides, stifled communication in the bud, and buried our empathy. And then we posted memes all day and celebrated headbanging doves.”
I increasingly wish for concepts like an “Internet driver’s license” – which sounds ridiculous, but could indeed contribute to improvement. Anyone who cannot prove that they can treat others with respect should not be allowed to go online.
Sometimes I also flirt with concepts like in South Korea, where all users have to register with their social security number, for example, for games. I wouldn’t want everyone to be able to see the names and data of every other person – that would be terrible – but rather, that in cases of criminal prosecution and “misconduct,” there are simply sanctions like “So, you now have a 2-week internet timeout, think about your mistakes and become a little kinder.”
Going crazy online? Then there’s a timeout.
And no, I also don’t want to play “opinion police” – but trolls and hate comments generally do not have an opinion. “You are all sons of bitches and I’ll fuck you up” is simply not an opinion – even if that is hard for some to understand.
Sure, this is just a not very well thought-out figment of my imagination, but the behavior on the internet is increasingly getting on my nerves. And it helps little to say, “If you can’t handle the behavior on the internet, then just don’t use it.” I rather represent the view: “If you can’t treat people with respect, then don’t use the internet.”
But I am already getting worked up about something again – have a nice Wednesday and behave yourselves. Be a positive example for your fellow human beings.
In Destiny , many Guardians can hardly believe what Bungie has done with Patch 2.5.0.2. Additionally, another bug has already been discovered.
“WTF”, “Does Bungie even have any idea what they are doing!?” or “Destiny is dead” – such statements are currently everywhere in the Destiny subreddit.
These are reactions to the patch notes for update 2.5.0.2, which were published yesterday. Some new features of the update were presented in a livestream a week ago, where they were largely considered reasonable. However, some changes are now hidden in the patch notes that leave Guardians shaking their heads.
Still usable?
What has happened to the Truth?
Among the biggest topics of discussion are the nerf to the Truth and a new bug that was introduced with 2.5.0.2. Before the release, the developers discovered a bug with several perks that nearly led to a postponement of the update. However, Bungie wanted to stick to the release date, which is why this bug made it into the game. For many Guardians, this is incomprehensible – even though Bungie wants to wait for feedback and respond accordingly.
The magazine capacity of the Truth has been reduced from 3 to 1 – significantly weakening the exotic rocket launcher. On reddit and in our comments, the reaction is clear: “Why?” Now the rocket launcher is broken; no one asked for a nerf.
Furthermore, many players are dissatisfied with the special ammo changes or complain about the changes to grenades or their Guardian classes. Right now, it’s really difficult to hear positive voices. Among the few is our reader Cupid, who writes that the game feels faster to him now and he expected it to be worse given all the negative reactions.
Nevertheless, a clear picture emerges: the majority of players are dissatisfied with the patch. By now, the Crucible is not fun anymore. There is a demand for better communication between the Guardians and the developers.
Tracker is buggy
However, all the anger over the changes isn’t enough – another bug has already been found. It seems that the Tracker causes exactly the opposite of what it was supposed to do since the patch on shotguns. It was supposed to take 25% longer to aim with the shotgun with the perk, but now it takes less time with the perk. In other words, this was not a nerf but a buff. Here is a video about it:
