The development studio Hello Games will release an update for the space online game No Man’s Sky later this week, introducing another vehicle into the game.
The work on the online game No Man’s Sky continues. Hello Games wants to continuously improve the game to make it the title it was supposed to be from the very beginning. Next up is an update that will bring a new vehicle into the game. The vehicle in the “Path Finder” update makes it easier for you to explore the home planet. It is still unknown what type of vehicle it will be.
Details about the update will follow
Path Finder builds on what has already been introduced with Foundation and is meant to show the direction No Man’s Sky will take in the future. No further details about the new update are known at this time. The patch notes will be released at a later date.
The development team states that they initially focused on releasing smaller patches to address issues reported by players after the release of the Foundation update. Only afterwards did they turn their attention to Path Finder. Silence does not mean that no one is listening.
The journey continues
Hello Games explains that they were positively surprised by the feedback on the Foundation update and want to let the fans know that they take this feedback very seriously. They are listening to the community and take notice of everything, the positive and the negative. The developers are already planning further steps to improve the online game No Man’s Sky.
Developers only care about money now. DLCs, addons, and in-game purchases. It wasn’t like that back then! – Or was it?
Hello everyone, happy Wednesday. Due to a lack of a greeting (which Schuhmann always finds silly), I’ll get straight to the point: The perception of DLCs, expansions, and their announcements within the gaming community.
Do you remember the glorious time when Blizzard announced “The Burning Crusade”? Or when Sacred got an expansion called “Underworld”? Or the joy we felt when we could finally date Liara T’soni again in the “Shadowbroker” DLC from Mass Effect 2?
Back then, announcements of expansions and major DLCs were something special. It was something new to look forward to. It was “more” of the known game world, “more” of what we liked. For that, people were happy to pay a few euros (or Deutsche Marks – if anyone still knows what those are).
The Shadowbroker DLC – one of the coolest DLCs ever.
But that has changed.
This topic became particularly noticeable to me with the announcement of the plans for new Hearthstone expansions. In 2017, Blizzard intends to release a total of 3 expansions – all of which contain around 130 cards each. They are distancing themselves from the “adventures” that existed before and instead want to include PvE missions for free in the expansions.
My first thought was “Cool, even more new cards per year, even more change, even more possibilities” – but many did not share my opinion.
Quickly, voices were raised that this was just “scamming”, Blizzard wants to boost the purchase of card packs, and they don’t care about anything else. The “greed” is clearly written on their faces. The fact that the PvE missions, the scope and design of which we cannot yet assess, will be “included” starting in summer is ignored by many players.
For me, a new expansion with many cards is great. Not because I will invest a lot of money – my account has managed without real money apart from the Explorer League expansion, but because I have a lot to unlock. For me, new cards in Hearthstone are what achievements are for other players. I can collect them, they are a reward in the arena or for playing and allow me to build new decks slowly. I don’t want to have all the cards on day 1 – I want goals to work towards.
However, I also do not want to be one-sided. There are some cases where DLCs have actually been nothing but “scams”. A prominent example is Mass Effect 3. This game offered the first story DLC “From Ashes” right at launch – the story included was even relatively important to the main story and provided valuable information.
At that time, the developers stated that the team responsible for the DLC had finished “earlier than planned”, which is why the release of the DLC coincided with the game’s release date. Shortly thereafter, however, it became public that almost the entire DLC was already present in the game files – a blatant lie then? This was never fully clarified, even though EA tried to appease the fans.
The “From Ashes” DLC for Mass Effect 3 is infamous. Even today, many believe that it was “cut from the game”.
There are a few cases like this, and yet I am not “angry” at the developers in the true sense. I firmly believe that additional game content nowadays has a higher level and requires much more work than it did a decade ago. A “free map pack” for Call of Duty or Battlefield simply cannot be compared, in my opinion, to a story DLC that brings fully voiced quests.
The effort for the people involved in such content is much greater, and the number of necessary developers is likely also drastically higher. Therefore, I find it only fair to pay for such DLCs and do not feel “scammed” or have the expectation that “this should be free”. Especially those who have played the DLCs from Mass Effect 2 and 3 (including “From Ashes”), know how great they were. Worth every cent.
One of my friends swears by the “Europa Universalis” series. And the game has so many expansions that I must raise my eyebrows in confusion. Nevertheless, he is enthusiastic about each individual expansion and can talk for hours about how great the new features are – a rare enthusiasm that I cannot share when I see that the whole work must have cost more than 200 €. But he loves it – so that’s okay.
I also find it confusing when comments repeatedly say “Yes, back in the day, Blizzard/EA/BioWare/Paradox/XYZ listened to the players and was friendly, now it’s just about money.”
I’ll stick my neck out and say: No, that’s nonsense.
Developers have always had to plan for money and profit as a factor, not just in recent years when games have become a mass phenomenon. If that hadn’t been the case, EA, Blizzard, and “the others” would not be in the good position they are in today. They have worked economically. Back then, developers did not live off air, love, and the endless resources of publishers either. Back then, games were simply finished after release. “Finished” in the sense that “more than a bug fix patch wouldn’t come out anymore.” And that has simply changed and also fits into the “Games as a service” thought.
The fact that games are becoming more complex and often come to market somewhat “unfinished” is another topic that should not be discussed here (and certainly not the all-too-similar early access survival games).
What is your opinion on DLCs, addons, and revenue sources of developers overall? Has everything become so much worse and are all companies only money-hungry now, even though they once had the well-being of players in mind? Or is it actually just the same as always – only the perception has changed?
The skills in Ghost Recon Wildlands offer you many ways to improve your Ghosts. You should unlock these 5 skills early on.
In Ubisoft’s new tactical shooter Ghost Recon Wildlands, you have skill trees where you can learn and improve your characters’ abilities. To spend points in these trees, you need to collect resources and level up as necessary. In each section, you can choose specific skills that match your play style. For example, you can improve the drone or increase stability when shooting. We show you 5 skills that simplify your missions in Bolivia.
Launcher
The launcher is a modification for many different weapons, allowing you to create a lot of bang (if you hit). It is excellent for destroying enemy helicopters that attack you from the air during your missions.
This weapon modification is also effective in combat against Unidad troops or other opponents that attack you on foot. When you are behind a wall or in a building, it often happens that the enemies run around the corner grouped together. This creates a favorable scenario for the launcher, which shows its full potential against enemy groups.
You can find the launcher in the category “Weapon“. The first point in this skill unlocks the launcher, and additional points increase the number of grenades.
Bullet Resistance
As the name suggests, with this skill you gain higher bullet resistance. This means you effectively have more health points.
This skill is particularly beneficial when playing on the highest difficulty in Ghost Recon Wildlands. Since enemies are no longer shown on the minimap before the attack, surprise moments arise when you are quickly shot at by enemies. If you can withstand more shots before going down thanks to this skill, it can help any player.
The bullet resistance skill can be found in the category “Body“. Each point in this skill increases your resistance by 5%. You can max out at 20% Bullet Resistance.
Spread When Free Shooting
This skill is primarily aimed at players who like to stand in the front lines or storm houses. Often, enemies wait behind doors or corners, attacking unexpectedly. If you have less spread when free shooting, you have higher precision without needing to aim with the right click – saving you crucial time.
Therefore, this skill is not as suitable for snipers, as they shoot from the back lines and will hardly use free shooting.
Spread when free shooting can be found in the category “Weapon“. Each point reduces the spread by 10%, maxing out at 40%.
Battery
The drone is an important tool for scouting enemy areas. Spending some skill points here to improve the drone is essential for any squad. Without the improved battery, the drone quickly runs out of juice, interrupting your reconnaissance flight.
If you upgrade this skill four times, you practically remove the time limit on the drone, giving you much more time for exploring foreign areas. This allows for much more relaxed planning of attacks.
You will find the battery skill in the category “Drone“. Any player looking to improve their drone is advised to spend a point in this skill.
Stamina
An important aspect in Ghost Recon Wildlands is running. When you hold Shift while moving, your character runs faster. But eventually, even a Ghost runs out of breath. Then he slows down and cannot sprint for a while.
You can increase your stamina by improving this skill with skill points. This allows you to run longer distances without needing to catch your breath.
You can find the stamina skill in the category “Body“. Each point increases stamina by 20% up to a maximum of 80%.
Bonus – Parachute
As correctly mentioned in our comments, the parachute skill should also be included here. In Ghost Recon Wildlands, you often have the opportunity to jump from helicopters or planes and can then quietly enjoy the landscape with your parachute while gliding towards the target area. This is not only fun but also saves lives when you’re with inexperienced pilots.
You will find the parachute skill in the category “Object“. One point unlocks the parachute.
Which skills did you take first, and can you recommend them?
MMO shooters are very popular. Destiny and The Division attract many players and impress with fast gameplay, but also offer depth like an MMO. We present to you the most important MMO shooters for the year 2017.
MMO shooters represent an interesting mix of online shooters and MMORPG elements. Typically, it is possible to upgrade your character like in a role-playing game, obtain increasingly powerful equipment, and often complete quests that guide the player and their friends through the story.
In many cases, however, you are not adventuring with thousands of other players at the same time, but usually only with a few, though you can meet others in hubs and social spaces. We take a look at which MMO shooters await us this year.
Destiny 2
This year, the developer studio Bungie and publisher Activision want to release a sequel to the popular MMO shooter Destiny. There is not much known about the game yet, except that you will have the opportunity to take over your Guardian, but everything except its appearance will be reset. You will therefore start again from scratch and learn new powers, find new weapons, and explore never-before-seen locations.
There are now some hints that Destiny 2 will also be released for PC. This would make sense in terms of the character reset, as then all players would start with the same conditions. In addition, a constant flow of new content is supposed to be possible in Destiny 2.
So far, not much is known about the story in Destiny 2. Allegedly, the story is supposed to connect to the end of the Destiny 1 expansion “The Taken King” and send you into battle against the Cabal forces, who are attacking the Last City.

In recent hours, reports of unwanted activities on Pokémon GO accounts have increased following the latest update. What is behind this?
Cheating and using unauthorized software violates the terms of service of Pokémon GO. Many trainers in the game have been receiving this information through a pop-up since yesterday. Why is this message appearing for you and what can you do to protect your account?
Cheater or Innocent?
In social networks, reports of supposedly innocent players are increasing, who find the following message in their game: “We have detected activity on your account that suggests you or someone else accessing your account is using modified client software or unauthorized third-party software that accesses Pokémon GO in a manner that violates our terms of service. Please be aware that using such software can lead to the loss of your account. If you have used such software, we recommend that you stop using it.”
Players then have to confirm this message with the button “All right!”
How should you respond to the new cheater warning in Pokémon GO?
If you receive this message but are sure that you are not using cheats, then you should definitely change your password in the Pokémon Trainer Club or your Google account. You should also ensure that no unauthorized app has access to your Google account.
It is possible that you have given unauthorized software access to your account. Some third-party apps like IV calculators or certain Pokémon maps require access to your account, which can lead to the current warning.
Perhaps you also tried an IV calculator or other services in the early days that you no longer use. If you entered your login data there or authorized those apps, they might still be exploiting your accounts for unwanted activities.
So play it safe and check your Google account and change your password to reduce the risk of a ban.
The hero shooter Paladins is often accused of being an Overwatch clone. Developer Hi-Rez handles this accusation with mixed feelings.
An article has appeared on the US site Gamespot analyzing how the Paladins developers Hi-Rez deal with the accusation that their Paladins is just an Overwatch clone.
A video by YouTuber “videogamedonkey” has over 3.4 million views and highlights the clear parallels between Overwatch and Paladins. The video has circulated widely, leading to many “attacks” online.

In September, Paladins addressed these accusations on Reddit. They stated, “Much of what we completed was done long before Overwatch. Yes, there are parallels, but these arise from the fact that Overwatch and Paladins share the same influences and predecessors, not because one game copied the other.”
However, many more people know the video by Donkey rather than the Hi-Rez site.
Hi-Rez knew what was coming when they saw the first announcement of Overwatch
How do such accusations affect the developers?
They handle it quite pragmatically. The accusations did not surprise Hi-Rez. They knew what was coming when they saw the first announcement for Overwatch. It was clear how similar Blizzard’s new game would be to what they were themselves bringing to Steam.
In the Closed Alpha, they spent a lot of time thinking: Should we differentiate ourselves more from Overwatch? Do we need to change our plans? However, they decided to go ahead and make the game they wanted to create, which promised the most fun.
A stroke of luck for the marketing team
At Hi-Rez, they see the accusations as a mixed bag. It hurts to be attacked after putting so many hours and heart into your own project. However, on the other hand: People are talking about Paladins because of it. The comparisons with Overwatch have been a blessing for the marketing team. Donkey’s video generated a lot of “buzz” and showed that fans are passionately discussing Paladins.
That’s much better than not getting any reaction at all.
Tonight Massive will hold a special report, which is likely to discuss the future of The Division, concerning Year 2. However, some information has already surfaced several hours in advance.
As GameRant reports, they spoke with the Creative Director Julian Gerighty about the “Year 2” plans. Accordingly, all players will receive two free expansions throughout the second year of The Division. The first DLC is expected in the summer.
According to Gerighty, Massive will discuss extensively tonight in the special report what is planned for the second year of The Division. This will include details about the two expansions.
What is in these DLCs for Year 2?
Gerighty didn’t want to go into detail during the conversation with GameRant, but he gave a teaser about what agents can expect from the summer expansion of 2017.
This expansion will continue the philosophy of Update 1.4 – a philosophy of generosity, where players are rewarded for investing time in the game. You will experience your own, unique stories.
The expansion is set to deliver new events and PvE content that you can tackle both alone and with friends. New challenges and new ways to play The Division are expected to be introduced.
An event structure is set to be introduced that will reward players for participation, completion, and competition within a playlist. The activities in this playlist will have a modifier to ensure variety. Players will see this content in a completely different light and play in completely different ways, according to Gerighty. He emphasizes that the focus will be on PvE content. However, further activities (i.e., PvP) may also come later.
It seems that Massive aims to increase the “replayability” of the PvE content in Year 2. With playlists, modifiers, and many rewards.
By the way, Gerighty did not want to talk about new areas or a continuation of the story. More information will follow in the stream and in the coming weeks and months, according to the Creative Director.
In For Honor, the player base on Steam is disappearing. After three weeks, only a quarter remains.
Ubisoft’s online melee combat game For Honor launched with a bang in mid-February: Even the open beta just days before release achieved record numbers for Ubisoft, and the game had strong player numbers at launch as well. With a player base of nearly 46,000, For Honor was among the top ten most played games on Steam.
However, the current numbers in the Steam charts show that a large portion of the many launch players did not return. Already after two weeks, the number dropped to around 20,000 players, and a week later, it was only about 15,000. Currently, there are only about 11,000 players left, and the trend is still declining.
A look at Google Trends also shows that interest in For Honor has clearly decreased after the launch hype.
What causes this player decline?
The mentioned numbers refer exclusively to Steam, but one can assume that the same trend is also evident on consoles and the Uplay version.
Possible reasons are quickly found: Players have complained about server issues and disconnections since the beginning. The matches occur through the criticized Peer-to-Peer connection; there are no dedicated servers.
Moreover, the combat system in For Honor is more complex than some might have expected. Since E3 2016, interest has increased significantly, and players set high expectations for the game. However, this unique “Art of Battle” may not appeal to everyone’s taste. The long-term motivation has already been discussed in advance.
Note: It is not uncommon for the player counts of online games to plummet shortly after launch. Many curious players take a look right at the start, but only a fraction of them stays long-term. A similar fate befell The Division: This MMO shooter lost 57% of its player base just three weeks after launch.
Players of Overwatch are manipulating loot boxes. The server browser makes it possible.
Most players feared it even before the server browser was introduced in Overwatch, and it has come true. Players “earn” loot boxes by hanging around in private matches created specifically for this purpose: AFK farming experience points.
Previously, Overwatch removed absent players from a match after a short time as they were not actively participating in the game. However, in “Skirmish,” which is the practice match before a real game, you are never kicked out of the game. It didn’t take long for clever players to figure out the settings to acquire loot boxes without really participating in the game. Only one character needs to be selected, and voila – sitting in the base for half an hour yields a good 7,000 experience points.
https://gfycat.com/UnrulyMiserableAnaconda
Blizzard has not commented on this yet, but it is suspected that the developers probably don’t care much – the server browser was created with the intention that players can also acquire experience points here. How exactly they do this seems to be of little concern to the developers until we hear otherwise.
Cortyn says: Ultimately, this whole issue is not a big deal for me, as I don’t really care how players earn or buy their cosmetic upgrades. Those who feel the need to acquire loot boxes in this manner – well, my God. Their gaming talent probably isn’t that great. For me, loot boxes are just an added bonus, an occasional reward after long matches. The thought of “farming them AFK” wouldn’t cross my mind – they and the contents are simply not significant enough.
P.S: I hope I still say this when the “Eidgenossin” skin for Mercy is available again …
The new Pokémon GO update 0.57.4 is now mandatory for trainers. What changes are there in this patch?
Players who want to play Pokémon GO must now download the new update 0.57.4 for Android or 1.27.4 for iOS. There likely won’t be major gameplay changes with this update. At least, that’s what the patch notes indicate.
Some players from the Pokémon GO community already interpret these text corrections as a running gag of the developers, who generally summarize bug fixes and other minor changes.
If there are further changes in an update that the developers withhold from the patch notes, data miners will find out. TheSilphRoad regularly engages in data mining of the new game data and has already been active with this update.
In the new GAME_MASTER file, the only change was the date of the patch. There were no move or stat changes or similar adjustments to the various Pokémon. The 0.57.4 APK showed no changes to the game. Therefore, the experts from TheSilphRoad assume that it really remained only at minor text corrections in this update.
Forced updates (i.e., updates that you must install before you can play the game) without new features and functions also indicate that there are new anti-bot measures intended to keep bots and cheaters out of the game. The cheater warnings that some trainers receive after the update at least suggest measures in this direction.
The last wing of the Nighthold in World of Warcraft is open. Now Gul’dan is also going to face justice in LFR!
With the end of today’s maintenance (03/08/2017), the last wing of the current raid instances “Nighthold” is finally available for the Looking For Raid. Those who have not yet experienced the showdown with Gul’dan due to lack of a raid guild now have the opportunity to send the nasty Orc from an alternate timeline to the ground once and for all.
The fight itself against Gul’dan is – as usual in LFR – not particularly challenging, but there are a few little things to keep in mind to avoid being the “quota loser” who lies in the dirt due to the abilities of the Fel Orc.
In the first phase, Gul’dan summons three demons to his side and becomes untouchable himself. Focus on the Inquisitor first and avoid all green effects. You can use the Eye of Aman’thul (an extra button) to strengthen yourself temporarily.
In the second phase, you go against Gul’dan himself. Here, you need to react quickly to the appearance of adds, as the Eyes of the Legion will split after a short time. The split eyes will split again and so on – those who completely ignore them will quickly be overwhelmed. At the same time, Gul’dan will place burning chains on individual players. Move out of this effect only when at least 2 other players are with you, as damage occurs when the chains are “broken”, which is then distributed among all players in the vicinity.
In the third and final phase, Gul’dan gains new abilities. Occasionally, he will cast large, black areas around him (Storm of the Destroyer), which swell with each cast. Take to your heels and just run away from him until he is finished. Eyes will still appear and must be defeated.
Otherwise, there is hardly anything to consider. Beat up the Orc and enjoy the first-class cinematic that you will be rewarded with.
Don’t feel like defeating Gul’dan just for the cinematic? No problem, the video has been circulating on the internet for quite a while. Obviously, there are spoilers:

On March 8, 2016, Ubisoft’s shared-world shooter The Division launched. Today, Wednesday, marks the anniversary of this release date. Just last week, the developers announced that they plan to celebrate this anniversary – and that agents should not miss it. However, they did not reveal how the “celebration” will look.
Now we know: Tonight at 6 PM they will hold a special report. This will be broadcast live on Twitch.
What this special report will be about is not yet stated by Massive. However, they thank you for a great Year 1, with “Year 1” being emphasized. This indicates that the developers may reflect on this year during the stream, but will finally also talk about Year 2.
What’s next for The Division?
For months, the community has been speculating about what the future of The Division will look like after Last Stand and 1.6. Given the efforts of the last months – especially with 1.4 – most agents saw it as unlikely that Massive would lower the shutters after 1.6 and say, “That’s it.”
In the latest situation reports from Massive, the community developers assured that it will definitely continue. The Division will still receive updates in the future. However, there was never any mention of new DLCs or additional content. There will come a time when they can talk about the plans.
The anniversary in the livestream
In all likelihood, this time will be tonight – coinciding with the birthday of The Division. We will embed the Twitch stream here for you, in case you want to follow the info live:
https://www.twitch.tv/thedivisiongame
We at Mein-MMO.de will be following the special report and will promptly publish our own article containing all important information in German and in a summary.
Console players have had to wait a long time for Seasons in Diablo 3. According to Blizzard, Season 10 will be the start of console Seasons on PS4 and Xbox One.
A Season start in Diablo 3 means that characters from the previous Season are converted to “normal” characters. If you play your Season characters, you will need to start them from scratch at the beginning of a new season. However, you can expect cool sets and items, challenges, and new leaderboards there as well. Soon, console players should also be able to take advantage of a Season.
Season 10 for Consoles – PS4, Xbox One
Fans of Diablo III are still waiting for the big confirmation that console Seasons will indeed be activated with the new season start. However, the team announced at BlizzCon 2016 that this feature would be coming “early in 2017”. Information from the Diablo 3 press kit from BlizzCon 2016 shows that this will indeed be the case at the start of S 10.
Seasons are coming to consoles: Seasons on PC and console will be held simultaneously in Season 10 – The Seasons include the Season journey, leaderboards, and all new rewards and cosmetic items.
Whether Blizzard can meet this goal and activate the 10th Season on consoles as planned will likely be revealed in the coming days. Because if they implement such a feature, the developers will surely say a few words about it. We remain excited and hope that Blizzard can stick to the schedule.
Will professional guilds in World of Warcraft soon have their own servers for raids and “first kill” races? Blizzard is considering it.
With the regular releases of new raids in World of Warcraft: Legion, the race for the first kills of the toughest bosses has regained the spotlight. Some large guilds have already thrown in the towel, while others are still pushing through and planning the conquest of the Tomb of Sargeras.
However, many raiders and some fans wish that Blizzard would place a stronger focus on the competition among professional guilds and perhaps even provide rewards or major events to ensure that the weeks of effort are more appreciated. The colleagues at PCGamesN interviewed Kim Phan, the head of Blizzard’s eSports department, about this.
“We definitely see this as an opportunity. Whether you call it eSports or not is another matter, but there is a clear competitive element, and my team shows great interest in it.”
A major criticism is often the chance-based inequality that exists between different guilds. If a character has the “wrong” legendary items or constantly has bad luck with loot distribution, they fall behind. The random factor often determines which guild starts with a slight advantage.
“I think it is important that in the end there is integrity in the competitive environment.” This clearly points to tournament servers that are used for many other games and create fair conditions for all participants.
“To be able to support this more extensively, especially if it is to be big and successful, we will start with a test to see how it goes, send out some broadcasts, and collect feedback from everyone. Do people enjoy watching it? Is it fun? Do we have the tools to support it?”
This is all but a promise that Blizzard will now pay more attention to “eSports in raiding,” but at least the developers have it on their radar and are planning. Whether this bears fruit will probably only show over months or even years.
The stone lady Inara is coming in large strides to Paladins. An initial trailer reveals more about her.
Fans of Paladins are currently eagerly awaiting the next patch, as it brings the new champion Inara. To hype the fans a little, the developers at Hi-Rez have already released a small teaser trailer that at least presents some of her abilities.

Enemies will literally “bite their teeth” at Inara, as the good lady is made of stone and also creates solid walls with which the play area is manipulated. As a tank, she is still quite solid – but that was to be expected from a stone lady.
Skyforge will receive a revamp of the group finder tool with the update “Stand United”. This should finally put an end to LFG spam in the chat.
The SciFi MMO Skyforge actually already has an LFG tool, but it is not used as often as the developers at My.com would like. Instead, LFG requests continue to flood the chat. The reason for this is that the previous LFG system had the weakness that you had to be in the class of the required role while looking for a group and had to choose a specific adventure. Even if in the end you would have liked to choose from several adventures, for example, if choice number two attracted many more players than the first choice.
Skyforge – Group Finder with Character Role and Replacement in Focus
The new group finder from the update “Stand United” is supposed to remedy this. The following changes to the LFG tool will come on March 9 with the release of the update:
You will be able to choose which role you want to take on, such as Attack, Support, or Defense. Multiple selections are also possible.
You no longer need to actively play the class with the specified roles while waiting for a group in the group finder. You can switch classes anytime in Skyforge, and the system relies on you to do that in time or agree with the group that you prefer to be a damage dealer rather than a tank.
Since you can commit to different roles, you can also jump in as a replacement for players of another role. When you arrive in the group, you can either switch your class or try with another role. This way, the group finding and picking up replacement players should go much faster.
MMO specialist Funcom, the developers of Conan Exiles, were on the verge of bankruptcy. But then salvation came in the form of naked barbarians!
Conan Exiles is a full success for the Norwegian developer Funcom. The barbarian survival MMO recouped its production costs within a few days and sold as many copies in the first four weeks as they had initially planned for the entire year.
Funcom was on the brink of ruin
But Conan Exiles is not just a top success for Funcom; it was the savior of the company! Without the brash barbarians and their survival struggle, Funcom would not have survived. The company was financially at its end despite (or because of) titles like The Park or the Lego MMO Minifigures Online.
Joe Bylos, Creative Director of Funcom, said at GDC 2017 that they were on the verge of bankruptcy. They had to borrow money from investors to pay employees’ salaries. It was clear: The next game has to be a hit, or we are done.
Develop a hit or die
But what should this saving hit game look like? This question was not taken lightly. Rather, the developers closely examined the market using SteamSpy and sought a genre that could save the company even with moderate success. This genre was survival games.
“These games sell very well…,” Bylos remarked, “… but they are often not of high quality.” In this niche, Funcom could definitely succeed, but they also wanted to develop a survival game that felt a bit more like Skyrim. Thus, they worked for 13 months to offer an Early Access version on Steam in February 2017.
Conan Exiles – Naked penises and breasts saved Funcom!
What followed is well-known: Conan Exiles sold extremely well and brought salvation for Funcom. The success surprised everyone, including Funcom’s Vice President Lawrence Poe: “We had no idea how quickly the success would come.”
According to Funcom, the great interest in Conan Exiles was primarily due to mischievous streamers. These had dived into the game’s nudity feature with childlike joy and were “completely out of control” with wildly flapping penises and bouncing breasts raging through the barbarian wilderness.
For a long time, LoL players had to wait for a rework of Galio. This rework changes the attacks and appearance of the champion in patch 7.6.
In League of Legends, older champions are reviewed by developers and equipped with a new look or new abilities. Major overhauls are called “reworks” and have already been done for Yorick, Warwick, and Ryze.
In the latest rework, Riot has taken the grieving protector Galio. The video shows that Galio is more than satisfied with his new look and continues to provide CC with his skills.

In the impressive video teaser, we see what awaits us with the new Galio. Visually, even the skin conveys a different feeling than in the “old” version. The golden accents emphasize that this is a “buffed” champion. With his abilities, Galio also demonstrates that CC is still an important part of his kit.
Soon, Riot will introduce what Galio’s new attacks do in another video. Until then, we have to draw conclusions from the teaser video. It looks like he has a gap-closer/dash that lifts a struck opponent into the air and then throws them down. This could possibly be split into two attacks: gap-closer and knock-up.
Furthermore, there is a wind attack that already existed in a similar form in his old kit. These whirlwinds apparently deal damage to struck opponents, as can be seen from the knocked-over Talon in the video.
Another attack seems to have a huge range. It probably is his new ultimate ability that targets an area. After a short time, Galio flies to the marked spot and has a large impact radius (similar to Pantheon). Enemies within this radius are knocked away. It appears that this ability has two areas of effect: one close to Galio and one that is a bit further away. In the image, you can see it by the separated rings surrounding Galio.
It is possible that enemies in the outer ring are “only” knocked back, while in the inner ring they are taunted or take more damage.
So far, these are just speculations based on the video. As soon as Riot releases the next video or further information about this rework in the coming days, we will likely get to know Galio’s abilities even better.

What changes today, on Tuesday?
There are no content adjustments or game changes today. The player experience is not meant to be affected. Instead, Bungie intends to implement features that will help them gather player data better.
The community manager DeeJ writes that he doesn’t want to sound creepy, but when you play Destiny, Bungie is always watching. They know everything about your Guardian existence: which activities you play, which gear you wear, and with whom you complete missions. This information would help the developers create better games. This is one of the reasons why you must always be online in Destiny.
This update is intended to improve the data collection. They apologize in advance for any inconvenience, but what is good for the engineering team is ultimately also good for the players.
Tomorrow, on March 8th, there will be a reveal stream for the next and final content update of Destiny 1: Age of Triumph. We will be live-tweeting in German. Until then, you can guess here if the Fatebringer will lose the Arc damage.
