Harsh criticism during beta tests
Ghost Recon Wildlands had a rough start. In early February 2017, it was time: selected players could participate in the closed beta of GRW. The community’s conclusion was interesting, as despite Wildlands having many bugs at that time, players did not reject it but demanded a later release.
This was requested so that the developers would have more time to fix the existing problems of the game. Something about Ubisoft’s new title was done right and convinced the community despite obvious weaknesses.
As points of criticism, the vague vehicle controls were often seen, which made driving cars or motorcycles worse than players wanted. The complicated flying with the helicopter was also often criticized. Added to this was questionable behavior of the AI characters in the game. Both the teammates and the opponents controlled by the computer appeared lost and overwhelmed in many situations.
However, there were also many positive feedbacks, for example praising the cooperative gameplay. With up to four players, you can complete story and side missions in the various regions of Ghost Recon Wildlands. The simultaneous progress of the missions and the various tactical options were positively noted. The arsenal of weapons with 23 assault rifles and 17 sniper rifles was also well received by testers.
How do you rate the “finished” Ghost Recon Wildlands?
Despite the harsh criticism, many of you gave the game a chance and wanted to test the “finished” product. A few days have already passed since you could try Ubisoft’s tactical shooter. You may have already completed missions in the various regions, defeated boss enemies, and solved side missions to gather resources. Some of you probably had to parachute out of a helicopter because you couldn’t absolutely trust your pilot.

For the online card game Hearthstone Blizzard announces a price increase for the cash shop. This affects Hearthstone on PC, Mac, the Battle.net shop, and on Android devices.

On March 22, Blizzard plans a significant price increase in the Euro region.

7 packs will cost 9.99€ – 1 euro more
15 packs will cost 19.99€ – 2€ more
40 packs will cost 49.99€ – 5 euros more
60 packs will cost 69.99€ – 7 euros more
One adventure wing will cost 6.99€ – 1 euro more than currently
And an arena ticket will be available for 1.99€ – that’s 20 cents more than at the moment.
All these items are currently also available for the in-game currency “Gold.” There will be no changes to the gold prices.
The price for the prelaunch pack for the next expansion Un’Goro is expected to be unaffected by the price changes.

In the fantasy MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, the latest patch 3.55b is live. It drives players insane.
Final Fantasy XIV is a gigantic and complex MMORPG. Yesterday, one of the last patches before the summer expansion Stormblood was released. With this patch, even “casual” players can get top weapons if they are very lucky.
3.55b was originally intended as a “farewell” for the Heavensward expansion, but the patch leads to disharmony.
Mass PvE Diadem causes trouble again
In 3.55b, the mission type “Expeditions to the Diadem” was revised.
This type of “casual raid for everyone and anyone” has been under discussion since the launch of Heavensward. The Diadem has been causing trouble since at least December 2015, because players with different interests are together in one instance. The Diadem is suitable for both warriors and mages (the normal classes), as well as for the gathering professions of Final Fantasy XIV.
The gatherers, however, do not deal damage to the mobs. This frustrates the other players in their group. The Diadem has never really worked and therefore needs to be revised. However, there were difficulties in this process. This revision has taken forever. Only now, on March 9, was the new Diadem completed and came as patch 3.55b to Final Fantasy XIV.
Up to 72 players can participate in such a “Diadem” at the same time – 9 groups of 8 players each. Therefore, it is more of an event for “casual” players and not as “structured” as what is usual in the pronounced raid scene of Final Fantasy XIV.
Players are together in one zone, and everyone can play as they like.
Emergency missions in the Diadem bring ilvl-280 weapons
With patch 3.55b, “Emergency Missions” appear in the Diadem. This doesn’t happen all the time; only sometimes do these “Emergency Missions” show up. Currently, it is unknown what triggers these missions and what requirements must be met. These emergency missions are supposed to encourage the various groups in the zone to work together to achieve something.
If such an emergency mission occurs, players have 15 minutes to complete specific tasks. It is necessary for as many of the 72 players in the Diadem to participate in the task as possible.
This is how you have a chance at the currently best weapon in Final Fantasy XIV
If it works out with the emergency mission, there is a chance of a treasure chest containing a low chance of an ilvl-280 weapon. This is “individual loot,” so it does not need to be rolled for. This weapon is currently the ultimate reward – stronger than what hardcore players have earned so far.
However, as the YouTuber Charles explains, it relies on a lot of luck to actually get such a weapon:
First, the emergency missions must actually occur
Then, it seems that only one out of the 72 participants will get this weapon (this is still uncertain)
And then it must also match the stats and be better than the current one
Therefore, Charles believes: It’s not worth the excitement.
Emergency missions cause trouble in Final Fantasy XIV
Since 3.55b has only been live for a few hours, the details about the drop chances for the 280 weapon are still unclear. However, it seems that this drop is causing trouble among hardcore players, as “casual” players can now get weapons of equal or better strength with a bit of luck – especially since there was a lot of fuss about the Anima weapons in Final Fantasy XIV that require a lot of effort.

Currently, the servers for For Honor are down today, on March 10th, due to maintenance. Ubisoft is applying an update for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Additionally, a PC-specific hotfix is being released.
This Friday, Ubisoft is making some adjustments and bug fixes in For Honor. Therefore, there will be a server downtime for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Starting at 2 PM, maintenance work will begin. The servers are expected to be offline for approximately 45 minutes, allowing you to play again around 2:45 PM.
Bug Fixes and Balancing
All platforms will receive a live update during this maintenance:
The Warlord defense stance will be adjusted: it will no longer become active immediately but after 200ms.
For the Valkyrie, the “shield tackle full block” will no longer trigger immediately but after 200ms.
For the Conqueror, the “heavy attack interrupt block” will no longer trigger immediately but after 100ms. These changes for the Warlord, Valkyrie, and Conqueror aim to simultaneously fix several bugs.
Kensei: A bug with the heavy, unblockable overhead attack will be fixed.
Shugoki: There was a bug with charged heavy attacks that caused it to hit twice and in some cases not be parryable.
PC-Specific Hotfix
This addresses a frequently mentioned community concern: the option “Quit to Desktop” will be removed from the post-match screen.
Furthermore, improved AFK Detection and additional bug fixes are coming.

Jeff Kaplan has confirmed what many fans of Overwatch have already suspected. The hero Symmetra is an autistic.
Symmetra is one of the characters from Overwatch who cannot easily be categorized as “good” or “evil”. While she fights for a “better future” and is convinced that she and the Vishkar Corp. are doing what is best for humanity, her actions can sometimes be quite evil. In order to eliminate competing rivals, there is often an attack or a “terrible accident” that plays into Vishkar’s hands. Many examples of this can be found in her comic “A Better World” .
However, Symmetra is special in another way: She “suffers” from autism.
Jeff Kaplan confirmed this in a letter to a fan who shared how Overwatch brought him and his brother closer together. In the letter, Kaplan extensively discussed Symmetra and revealed that she is indeed autistic.
After the letter was posted on Tumblr, Blizzard confirmed to the magazine Polygon that it indeed came from Kaplan.
Autism exists in numerous different forms, but it can usually be identified in three areas: problems with social interaction, communication issues (understanding verbal and nonverbal language), and noticeable behaviors or highly restricted interests.
Symmetra has overcome what many see as “problems” and instead utilizes her autism to accomplish things others cannot. She easily notices the smallest errors, and her drive for perfection makes her an excellent agent for Vishkar.
Overall, this is yet another sign of how strong the diversity in Overwatch is and a clear symbol that illness or disability does not make a person “worse”, but – as in the case of Symmetra’s autism – can even come with special talents and abilities.
