Hi-Rez released a teaser video for Zhin, the Tyrant. Get a glimpse into Zhin’s relationship with his sword. Heads rolled and foes were slaughtered. Zhin is the new champ in Paladins.
Zhin is a cruel warrior, and his sword tells us his story in the teaser video from Hi-Rez.
In the beginning, Zhin sharpens his blade on a whetstone, the camera focusing on the shiny metal. Suddenly, shadows form, and outlines of people can be seen. A shadow clearly representing Zhin moves through the rows of men kneeling before him. They look like soldiers who are loyally subordinate to their captain.
The image changes, and we see Zhin as he slaughters two giants with his sword.

The scene shifts, and we see the shadow of a person who seems to be on their knees. The samurai swings his sword and aims for the man’s neck. The image blurs, and the shadow play is over.
Zhin tenderly runs his hand over the blade, presumably relishing the battles he has fought. The warrior pours oil over his sword and sets it ablaze. He walks out, dragging the sword behind him on the ground, leaving a trail of fire.
Zhin’s sword gives us a glimpse into Zhin’s story. That was probably not the only head that rolled under Zhin’s blade.
Zhin is the newest champion of Paladins and arrives with OB52 to the fantasy shooter. Studio Hi-Rez revealed that Zhin is the first evil character of the hero shooter. The video clearly shows that this warrior knows no mercy.
Leya says: A strong video that perfectly showcases Zhin’s character in less than a minute. He is the leader whom the soldiers kneel before. Whether out of fear or respect remains unclear. He decapitates an apparently unarmed man and shows no mercy. However, his sword seems to caress Zhin and leaves a trail of destruction in the end.
It’s exactly these little teasers that Hi-Rez spreads here and there that make me particularly excited for Paladins lore. I hope Hi-Rez keeps its promise and releases it this year.
Zhin pours oil over his sword and sets it ablaze. This inflicts nasty burns on his foes.

With the new expansion Tomb of Annihilation for the MMORPG Neverwinter, you will be taken into the jungle of Chult. What awaits you there is revealed by the developers in the new developer diary.
The jungles of Chult are a dangerous place in the fantasy world of the Forgotten Realms. But this is exactly where you travel during the new campaign. You will reach the port city of Port Nyanzaru, which is located on the northern coast of the peninsula of Chult. There, you will meet the merchant prince Wakanga O’tamu, the ruler of the last bastion of civilization in this dangerous wilderness. From Port Nyanzaru, you will travel to the Soshenstar river basin, where you will encounter dangerous dinosaurs and cannibals.
Repeatable Quests
In the ancient ruins of long-forgotten civilizations, further dangers await you. You will find the isolated field camp of the Glove Order, which urgently needs support in fending off the undead hordes. There is plenty for you to do in the jungle of Chult. This includes daily repeatable quests that you can complete alongside the story missions, helping you to progress faster.
New Rewards
The daily missions will also grant you large amounts of currency. To get an overview of the currency you have already earned and what you can still collect before the limit is reached, a corresponding display will be introduced.
Additionally, there is an adjustment to the blessings in the game. You can freely use the first three points for different blessings: increases in strength, regeneration, toughness, and damage against dinosaurs or defense against dinosaurs. For each of these blessings, you can invest up to three points to enhance the effect.
Furthermore, you can acquire new rewards through the campaign store, including additional armor pieces from two different sets. And once you have progressed in the story and completed important tasks, the dangerous dungeon “Tomb of the Nine Gods” will open for you!
The Tomb of Annihilation expansion will be released on July 25th on PC.

Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood – Early Access for Pre-Orders – When does it start?
Starting Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM (CEST), the Early Access to Stormblood begins for all eligible players.
Eligible to participate are all players who receive an Early Access code and have registered it on their account. You will receive such a code via email if you pre-ordered the game from the Square Enix store. Playstation players do not receive a code; their Early Access will automatically be activated on their registered account.
Before the start of the early access, there will be maintenance. Characters that meet the requirements for Stormblood can immediately dive into the addon afterward. In order to play the content of Stormblood, the main story of Heavensward must be completed up to the quest “A Cause for Boldness” implemented with patch 3.56.
Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood – Early Access for Pre-orders
PC players, by the way, must officially register with their activation code after the end of the Early Access to Stormblood on June 23 to continue playing. Playstation players are exempt from this and can simply continue playing. A detailed guide to the Early Access codes and necessary procedures can be found in the source reference.
In Destiny 2 the Defender subclass is replaced by the Sentinel. The Titan can still create his Bubble.
Destiny 2 introduces three new subclasses: the Dawnblade for the Warlock, the Arcstrider for the Hunter, and the Sentinel for the Titan. These were revealed during the gameplay reveal in mid-May.
Information surfaced that these three subclasses will replace the existing subclasses of the respective elements; and to finally clarify all doubts about this topic, Game Director Luke Smith confirms in an extensive interview with PC Gamer: Yes, the old focuses are indeed disappearing:
The Sunsinger Warlock becomes the Dawnblade,
the Blade Dancer Hunter becomes the Arcstrider
and the Defender Titan becomes the Sentinel.
All three will receive new abilities and a new Super (while abilities like grenades and jumps will mostly remain the same).
The Dawnblade focus and the Arcstrider focus have already been introduced in detail; only the Sentinel Titan lacks further details. Smith now discusses this new subclass and reveals that the “Dawning Shield” still exists.
Information about the Sentinel in Destiny 2
The Sentinel activates a Void Shield as a Super. With this shield, the Titan can do three things:
Use it as protection – This allows you to have mobile cover while moving safely
Use it as a melee weapon – Strike enemies with the shield
Throw it – You can throw the shield like Captain America towards enemies, dealing damage from a distance
The idea behind the Sentinel is an aggressive support character that is, by nature, defensively oriented. Luke Smith reveals that he and large parts of the sandbox team were fans of the Defender Titan. Therefore, the Sentinel will also be able to activate a Bubble – the Super of the Defender.
If you select the corresponding skill tree in the focus overview, you can hold down the buttons for activating the Super to create a Bubble – which is actually called “Dawning Shield.” This has been and is often used in the raids of Destiny 1 to deal increased damage to bosses with weapons of light.
Whether the Dawning Shield will also have weapons of light and blessings of light in Destiny 2 is still unknown.
According to Smith, the special feature of the Bubble is that it can change the battlefield for a period of time. A well-placed Bubble can decide between victory and defeat. And that is a great attribute for a Super. He wants to see things like that more frequently in Destiny 2, which is why Titans receive a barricade ability and Warlocks receive a buff ability, allowing for synergy effects.
In summary: If you skill the Sentinel accordingly, he can set a Bubble in Destiny 2. https://youtu.be/Voa2nhxSjlc?t=4m11s
It was recently announced at E3 2017 that the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls 6 is not even in development yet. And even though many are eagerly awaiting a new Skyrim, the delay has a silver lining for MMO fans. Without Elder Scrolls 6, The Elder Scrolls Online remains longer in the development spotlight.
Anyone hoping for solid information on the next Elder Scrolls game since Skyrim left E3 disappointed. At the fair, Bethesda spokesperson Pete Hines made it very clear that “Elder Scrolls 6 is not even in development”. The game currently only exists as a conceptual plan, and a release is far off.
For fans of the series, this is certainly a significant blow, but there are also some positive aspects to consider.
ESO benefits from the delay of Elder Scrolls 6
I assume Elder Scrolls 6 will come no earlier than 2020.
If the sixth Elder Scrolls installment is still years away, The Elder Scrolls Online has no self-made competition. The timely release of a new ES game would siphon off many players from ESO, who would then dedicate weeks and months to the new game.
This would be anything but positive for ESO and would hinder the development of the game, which has just gained a good amount of players thanks to the successful Morrowind chapter. An MMO thrives on the many players who actively play it, and an empty world is not in the interest of Zenimax or Bethesda.
ESO as a complement to Elder Scrolls 6
If the next major part of the solo player saga is delayed for a few years, ESO has plenty of time to continue growing and thriving. Especially the new chapters that began with Morrowind and will introduce a new region each year should gradually make the game increasingly complex and diverse. Ultimately, a real “Online-Tamriel” should be created, where you can truly explore every area.
If Zenimax continues at the pace it has shown so far, ESO is likely to have three more chapters and 9 DLCs by 2020. That’s a lot of content.
Depending on where the journey goes with ES 6 (an insider recently mentioned to me that, according to internal rumors, it would lead to the Khajiit in Elsweyr), connections between the two games could be established quite effectively. Players could then alternate between the two games.
However, such a scenario would require that ESO has grown sufficiently before the release of TES 6 to smoothly incorporate the new regions from the upcoming solo game.
ESO grows and Elder Scrolls 6 will be epic – A win-win situation
Jürgen says: As much as I would love a new Elder Scrolls as a solo game, I am also happy that this way ESO can continue to grow peacefully and without self-inflicted competitive pressure. I was extremely pleased with the new chapter Morrowind, and according to Matt Firor, numerous new ideas for DLCs and chapters are ready at Zenimax.
All of this can only work well if no new solo ES game disrupts the pace soon. And after the lackluster Fallout 4, I am also glad if they take their time with Elder Scrolls 6 and don’t release “Skyrim in Green”. Especially since, following the success of The Witcher 3, a new Elder Scrolls must inevitably measure up to this masterpiece just like the grand Skyrim. And that simply takes time.
Thus, it is actually a win-win situation. Elder Scrolls 6 will become a worthy successor to Skyrim due to the long development time, and ESO can become a better Online-Tamriel in the meantime. It all fits!
The new Gunrunning DLC for GTA 5 Online gives you many ways to spend money. We show you here all the bunkers and vehicles of the update and indicate what they cost.
In the online mode of GTA 5, you can now become a weapons dealer thanks to the new Gunrunning update. To organize your business in peace and also be protected from competition (and the police), you can buy underground bunkers.
Besides the safe shelters, the new “GTA 5 Online update 2017” offers further opportunities to spend money. Flying rocket bikes or armored APCs are included.
All Bunkers from the Gunrunning DLC, Locations, and Prices
When you enter the world of GTA 5 Online, you can now step into the business of weapons dealers as a CEO, VIP, or MC President. Access the internet via your in-game phone and open the Mazebank Foreclosure website.
There, you will find an overview of all the bunkers available in the game. In total, there are 11 buildings in the price range from 1,165,000 GTA$ to 2,375,000 GTA$.

Private Rooms can be unlocked in the bunker. These cost an additional 265,000 GTA$.
Shooting Range: With a shooting range inside the bunker, you can test your shooting skills. They are available in two versions in black (740,000 GTA$) and white (845,000 GTA$).
Armory: An armory in the bunker will cost you 175,000 GTA$.
Transport: For faster transport underground, pimped golf carts are available. Depending on the version, they cost 85,000 GTA$ or 120,000 GTA$.
All Vehicles in Gunrunning, Prices
Besides bunkers, there are also interesting vehicles in the new Gunrunning DLC for GTA 5 Online. We show you which are already in the game and what they cost.
The mobile command center is available from 1,225,000 GTA$ in the game. However, you need a bunker to buy and store it.
At Warstock, there is now a selection of six new “vehicles” that have two price options. The cheaper version must be unlocked through missions that you can start as the owner of a bunker.
Another offer at Warstock is the Ballistic Equipment. For 500,000 GTA$, you get a military full-body armor along with a minigun. The right combination to clarify any misunderstandings with other online players.
New Supercars in Gunrunning
With the Gunrunning DLC, not only military vehicles find their way into the game, but also cars from the popular supercar class. However, these will only be unlocked in the coming weeks in the game. The prices of the cars have already been found during data mining by FoxySnaps.
With the June patch, not only are some new features introduced into the space MMO EVE Online, but there will also be a major battle event.
The June will be hot for players of EVE Online because a big battle is coming. In the “Rogue Swarm Alert”, you will face hordes of drones that pose a significant threat to any pilot. This event lasts for two whole weeks during which you should destroy as many drone ships as possible. Of course, you are not doing this out of goodwill, but for rewards. These include PLEX, SKINs, drone blueprints, and accelerators.
Intense Battles Against AI Opponents
So you can expect some intense battles. Even though you will be facing computer-controlled opponents in this event and not other players, there should be plenty of excitement. In addition, you can still engage in regular PvP battles. But the June patch has even more to offer.
Ship Redesigns, Performance Improvements, and More
This includes redesigns of the ships Sin, Vexor, and Ishtar. Those who are colorblind can now find an option to change the color scheme to improve visibility. Additionally, there are improvements to the performance of the client, making your ships not only look better but also play more smoothly.
The patch will be deployed today, June 13th, for the MMO EVE Online.
Monster Hunter World is coming to Europe. Anyone into hardcore multiplayer with their friends or boss fights in MMORPGs should keep an eye on this game.
For many Europeans, the “Monster Hunter” franchise is a mystery. Yet, probably everyone has at least one friend or acquaintance who raves about the series. So what makes Monster Hunter fun?
What is the appeal of Monster Hunter?
It’s hard to grasp the appeal of Monster Hunter just by watching. Often, you run around with three other players in the game world for minutes, seemingly without a plan. Once the right creature is found, a long battle begins, which can be boring for the inexperienced observer.
“Are you really pounding on that dragon for almost 10 minutes?” I asked naively back then and was met with a simple “Yes.” Even if it didn’t look like much on the screen, my roommate was clearly under tension.
I watched for many hours until I truly understood what makes the game special.
Monster Hunter World on PC, PS4, and Xbox One
In essence, Monster Hunter is exactly what many players love about MMORPGs, without all the annoying “fluff” around it. Almost every encounter with a creature resembles a challenging boss fight from MMOs, where new tactics and tactics need to be tested repeatedly.
Fights against single beasts are – as a rule – not over in a few seconds, but can easily take half an hour.

Failing doesn’t mean you can “just respawn and continue” – many opponents have a time limit, and with each death of your hero, the reward decreases. Moreover, not every monster can be hunted at all times. Because when certain weapon oils or traps are depleted, you might as well skip the hunt for the giant dragon, as the players do no damage anyway. Planning and preparation are just as crucial as skill in combat.
Additionally, the monsters in Monster Hunter are usually much more “convincing” than creatures in other games. They don’t just hit the tank because he has “the most aggro”. When they are hurt themselves, they flee back to their nests, try to hide or lick their own wounds.
Monster Hunter World has all the “cool” MMO-hunting elements
Monster Hunter has all the cool “hunting, gathering, and improving” aspects that make MMOs so popular, but without unnecessary baggage. That’s why we believe that Monster Hunter World will also be a hit here – after all, fans have been waiting forever for a chance to finally let loose on the PC.
If you enjoy challenging multiplayer titles with your friends and want to hunt some “hardcore” monsters, you should keep an eye on Monster Hunter World – and maybe plan your annual vacation for 2018.
In Assassin’s Creed Origins, you play the character Bayek. He is the last Medjay – a once group of warriors who served the Pharaohs as agents for hundreds of years. They protected the cities and temples from threats. The story of Bayek leads you to the founding of the Assassin Brotherhood.
The setting is ancient Egypt, where you can stealthily navigate through a vast open world filled with cities, villages, deserts, lakes, and diverse landscapes.
In the video, you see how AC Origins plays. An important companion is Senu – Bayek’s eagle, through whose eyes he can see and scout the area from above. Senu can mark enemies and targets for you.
Origins features RPG elements. You level up your character and enhance him with gear that you find on your journey. In the gameplay, Bayek is level 20 and has few problems with enemies at level 20. Later, he encounters level 25 foes, against whom he looks old. The gameplay video showcases various items in action.
Starting around 2:22:00, you see an underwater fight against a hippopotamus, which Bayek can win. For AC Origins is not only full of NPCs but also teeming with animals – many of which will attack you aggressively.

Lineage II Revolution is an enormously successful mobile MMO by Netmarble and is currently only available in Korea. However, this week 11 more countries will be blessed with the release of Lineage II Revolution. Unfortunately, none of them are in Europe.
Now the mobile success MMO is set to release in 11 more countries.
Lineage II Revolution – The big Asia release
On June 14, Lineage Eternal is set to launch in the following Asian countries:
Taiwan
Hong Kong
Macao
Singapore
Brunei

In Japan, the game will not launch until the third quarter and China will receive it only at the end of the year due to ongoing political tensions. And even though Lineage II Revolution continues to be successful with over 2 million registered players, it is slowly facing competition. NCSoft has developed its own Lineage for mobile devices: Lineage M.
This is set to release on June 21 in Korea. In contrast to Lineage II Revolution, Lineage M is fully developed by NCSoft, while Revolution is a licensed product, where NCSoft only collects royalties.
Lineage II Revolution – Europe release not until the end of the year
According to Korean media, the West release is planned for no earlier than the fourth quarter of 2017. Due to strong competition in Korea, much depends on the international success of the game for Netmarble.
What do you think about Lineage 2 Revolution? Are you eagerly anticipating the game, or are you not a big fan of mobile gaming? Or would you prefer the competing product Lineage M? Let us know your opinion in the comments!

Beyond Good and Evil 2 aims high. Players are promised nothing less than a “GTA in space.”
Hardly any game has taken as long to announce a sequel as the action-adventure Beyond Good and Evil. The original was released in 2003, at a time when MMOs were still largely in their infancy and “photorealistic graphics” were science fiction.
Meanwhile, the gaming industry has changed, and technology has advanced in leaps. This means that Beyond Good and Evil 2, which was presented yesterday at E3, needs new elements in gameplay and a more expansive game world. During the presentation, Michel Ancel from the development team spoke about Beyond Good and Evil 2 and explained that everything is much bigger than in the first game.
They even worked for three years solely on the technology to create a game world of this size, allowing players to explore space and travel between planets.

“But the planets will not be empty. Nor will there be procedurally generated “whatever” planets. Real planets with cities and logical connections between the cities. And all the natural events you might have on the planets; gravity, moons, and all those things. We wanted to make sure before this presentation that we could deliver the things in the game that we are promising.”
However, the size of the game world that the trailer suggests is not just a visual effect for the presentation. The world is meant to be truly large and vibrant, with all the different locations.
“You can walk out of the Chinese restaurant, then hop into your spaceship, over the planet’s atmosphere, from there to your gigantic spaceship, and then switch planets. All of this without loading times, and you can be attacked anywhere. It’s like GTA, but in space, three-dimensional.”
Whether Beyond Good and Evil can live up to its promises, we will probably only find out with the release. Actual “in-game footage” has not been seen yet.
Cortyn thinks: The statement makes me a bit skeptical because I find it hard to reconcile “Beyond Good and Evil” and GTA. I really hope that the game does not lose its charm, which it built up 14 years ago, because it was simply “different” from other adventure titles. It will surely be difficult to match the successes of the past and to surpass a game that has now been nostalgically praised. Please do not be a “GTA in space,” Beyond Good and Evil 2. Please.
What’s next for The Division? There was no answer to this question at E3.
For some time now, agents have been waiting for an announcement about what the future of The Division will look like. What content will specifically come in Year 2? Will there be a Year 3 or is a “The Division 2” in the works? Does the Division franchise even have a future?
As Massive and Ubisoft have hardly spoken about the future of the shooter in recent weeks and months, many fans speculated that they would finally reveal something at E3 2017. A cool trailer to hype things up again, or at least some information about what to look forward to.
But nothing. Neither at the Ubisoft conference nor at the press conferences of Microsoft or Sony was “The Division” mentioned even once.
The Division was not mentioned at all
Many agents are now quite disappointed. In the reddit forum, the posts that express users’ disappointment and frustration are getting the most upvotes. One player writes that he didn’t expect much, but the fact that they didn’t even mention The Division is tough.
However, there was not only a lack of mention of The Division. Other “Tom Clancy” games like Rainbow Six Siege also had no presence at E3.
What’s going on with these Clancy games? Is there still work being done on them?
Ubisoft takes care of all Clancy games
In an interview on Youtube Live, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was asked if there are plans for the future of the Clancy games.
He replied that he couldn’t say much about it. He assures, however, that Ubisoft is taking care of all Clancy games. It’s just that they currently have a lot of games on their list, but The Division and Rainbow Six are still being played. The player numbers are still very high. All Clancy games will continue.
In the end, Guillemot emphasizes that they will not forget Splinter Cell either.
There are already rough details about the near future of The Division. Update 1.7 is scheduled for summer, which will have a PTS phase in advance on all platforms. Global events and Commendations are coming. This week, Massive wants to provide more information about the Commendations.
How do you feel about The Division not being present at E3 2017?

At E3, the upcoming pirate online game Sea of Thieves was showcased. The developers have now shared some details about the PC version.
So far, nothing has been seen of the PC version of the online game Sea of Thieves. The developers have concentrated on the Xbox One version. However, as Microsoft explains, there is also a dedicated PC version in development. Sea of Thieves for PC is not just a port of the Xbox One version but a version being developed in parallel.
PC version offers more customization options
Those who want to play Sea of Thieves on PC will not be subjected to a framerate lock. There is no FPS limit. Additionally, ultra-wide screen monitors are supported, and 4K resolution is also part of the package.
This means that the PC version of the game offers more customization options and can be better tailored to individual needs. The team is currently working on a special control scheme for mouse and keyboard, ensuring that Sea of Thieves can be effectively controlled with these input devices. This can be tested during the technical alphas.
Test the PC version in the technical alpha
The online game will be released in early 2018. If you want to be part of one of the technical alpha phases and try out the PC version of Sea of Thieves, then sign up on the official website. With a bit of luck, you will be selected for the test.

GTA 5 Online Gunrunning Update Download, Patch Size, PS4, Xbox One, PC
Players who want to try out the new content of the Gunrunning update for GTA 5 Online only need to download the free patch. The update is now available on all platforms and ready for download.
Download size: The Gunrunning update for GTA 5 Online is approximately 1.79 GB on PC (around 2.2 GB on Steam). On PS4 and Xbox One, the update size is also about 2 GB.
Prices of Gunrunning DLC Content
Many players already suspected when the update was announced that the new prices would be particularly high. Initial screenshots show that some of the new vehicles are really expensive.
The rocket motorcycle, for example, costs from about 2.6 million GTA dollars, the armored “APC” vehicle is available from 2.3 million GTA dollars for purchase at Warstock. The anti-aircraft trailer costs a whopping 1.4 million GTA$.

The mobile command center, which is supposed to give you access to many features of the update while on the go, is available from 1.2 million GTA dollars. Presumably, this is the base version, which you will then need to upgrade with cool features.
Bunkers are available in various versions in the game. A bunker as a base version in Raton Canyon costs around 1.4 million GTA$. It also offers the possibility for upgrades. A well-equipped Grand Senora Oilfields bunker costs over 2 million dollars. Here, the location and environment will likely influence the price of the building, as has already been seen with warehouses or drug labs in GTA 5 Online.

In Destiny 2, the PlayStation-exclusive content is well known. These contents are available exclusively on PS4 for at least one year.
At Sony’s E3 press conference, the PlayStation-exclusive content was revealed. Thanks to a marketing deal between Sony and Activision, PS4 Guardians can look forward to these additional contents:
Lake of Shadows – Exclusive Strike: You will go to the European Dead Zone, where you must face the Taken. The Strikes in Destiny 2 are cooperative activities for three players, just like in Destiny 1.
Exclusive Armor Pieces:
The Titan receives “Terra Concord”:
The Warlock gets “Tesseract Trace IV”:
The Hunter receives “Icarus Drifter”:
Exclusive to PS4 is a ship called City Apex:
A PvP map: Retribution. This seems to take place on a ship high up:
And particularly exciting: there is an exclusive, exotic weapon. It is called Borealis. It is a sniper that can switch elemental damage (Solar, Arc, Void) at will. The appearance of the weapon changes as well:
Here you can see the contents and various versions of the exotic weapon in the video:

The time exclusivity lasts for at least one year. All these contents will be available exclusively on PS4 until “at least Fall 2018”. The past has shown that the word “at least” is important. Because the exclusive contents from September 2015 are still not available on Xbox.
The deal between Sony and Activision for Destiny 2 strongly resembles the deal for Destiny 1. There were also PlayStation-exclusive weapons, armor pieces, PvP maps, ships, and a strike.
By the way: The video currently (June 13) has more negative ratings than positive on YouTube. No one is really happy about Xbox players being excluded from this content. Because “at least one year” is a long time.
What do you think about the PS4-exclusive content?
Destiny 2 will be released on September 6, 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One, and on October 24 for PC.
At E3, Ubisoft announced a completely new game, the open-world pirate game Skull & Bones. In it, you play as a pirate captain in the 18th century and roam the Indian Ocean. There will be PvE, PvP, and a campaign. And a beta will be coming soon!
Skull & Bones – Black Flag Inspired
Anyone who played Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag back then will remember the thrilling sea battles you fought as a pirate against your enemies. The developers at Ubisoft also had a lot of fun with it. They enjoyed the pirate battles so much that they developed a completely own game around the naval battles: Skull & Bones, which was introduced last night at E3.

Skull & Bones is set in the 18th century in the Indian Ocean. This is where piracy flourished at the time. Your character is an aspiring young captain who wants to start a career as a pirate here. The game offers you a sleek ship that comes in one of three classes:
Frigates are resilient and well-armed. They are good tanks at close range that shield other ships.
Brigantines are fast and maneuverable. They quickly catch up and ravage the enemy by firing at close range and ramming when necessary.
Sloops are the lightest ships in the game, capable of firing at long distances, making them hard to hit.
Skull & Bones: PvE or PvP?
With your ship, you will immediately unsettle the seas of the open world and either lurk for merchant ships in PvE or hunt other pirates in contested waters (the PvP zone) in 5vs5 battles.
In PvE, you follow a vertical progression. The more you loot, the better your reputation. This, in turn, gives you access to increasingly valuable targets.

In the PvP mode, Ubisoft wants to regulate progression differently. Progression here is more horizontal, so that all players can enjoy and no one becomes too powerful.
Also cool: With plenty of customization options, every pirate ship should look unique. This way, you should be able to recognize from a distance that a particularly bloodthirsty pirate has just appeared by its silhouette and flag.
Skull & Bones: Weather Effects, Pirate Fleets, and Solo Campaigns
The battles in Skull & Bones are not only fought with cannons and ships. The sea itself also plays a role, as wind, weather, and currents significantly affect the behavior of your sailor. For example, you can outmaneuver the opponent or lure them into an unfavorable current. When fleeing from pirate hunters, it is sometimes necessary to sail through a storm or to risk an escape through a treacherous reef.
Skull & Bones is clearly designed as a multiplayer game where you and other captains simultaneously unsettle the seas and can even form real fleets with other players.
Such fleet operations resemble raids in other MMOs, only instead of taking down a dragon, you’re dismantling a merchant convoy with escort protection.
Ubisoft has also announced a solo campaign in which you follow a story and regularly encounter recurring characters. Additionally, various naval powers of the era and the feared Dutch East India Company will make your life difficult. Ubisoft will reveal more information about the campaign at a later date.
Skull & Bones: Beta Sign-Up and Release Date
If you are already excited about Skull & Bones, unfortunately, you will have to wait a bit longer. Because Ubisoft’s pirate game is currently planned for the fall of 2018. It will be released on PC as well as Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Enhanced versions for Xbox One X or PS4 Pro are also planned.
If you can’t wait until 2018, you can already sign up for the Skull & Bones beta using the given link and set sail much earlier. When the beta will start, however, is still unknown.
