In the co-op mode of Far Cry 5, the second player is left out. Player 1 makes progress in the story, while number 2 is just a sidekick.
Have you already arranged with a friend to play the co-op mode of Far Cry 5 together? You may need to change your plans now, as new information about the cooperative mode shows how it works.
On your joint adventures in Montana, it seems that only the first player makes mission progress. The second player takes on the role of the sidekick.
No “real” co-op mode in Far Cry 5
Since the announcement of the co-op mode in Far Cry 5, players have been looking forward to solving tasks together with their friends and exploring the game world. As Gamestar reports, the co-op mode is not as we imagined it.
The cooperative gameplay mode of Far Cry 5 is a “drop in, drop out” system where the second player only plays a supporting role. Although in this supporting role, one can also collect experience points and resources, there is no mission progress. Only the first player receives that.
The system is thus similar to older titles in the Far Cry series. There, you could best complete a few side missions together with friends. In the new game, you can now play the main missions together – but the progress is only “credited” to one player. What prompted the developers to make this decision is unclear.
This news is a major disappointment for the many players who were looking forward to the adventure with two players. It’s especially unfortunate because this co-op mode was promoted right at the announcement. When it was said that all story missions could be played in two-player mode, it was assumed that there would also be progress for both players. Who could have expected that player 2 would just be a sidekick?
This half-hearted co-op mode unfortunately spoils our excitement for the new Far Cry 5. What a shame.
The price of €15 for the Necromancer in Diablo 3 shows the problem with DLCs: They are simply always too expensive. The ratios don’t match. We will show you what lies behind this and why this topic will still concern us for years to come.
Players are rarely as upset about anything as they are about DLCs and their exorbitant prices. The discussion flares up time and again. The ugly word “rip-off” is making the rounds. We will examine the problem using Diablo 3 and the Necromancer as an example.
Players cry: Rip-off
“Too expensive DLCs!” – This is currently Blizzard’s complaint regarding the Necromancer for Diablo 3. With “Rise of the Necromancer,” there is basically only a new class for the hack’n slash Diablo 3 and some insignificant fluff.
For this, Blizzard wants €14.99.
Players are making the following calculation:
The base game Diablo 3 offered five classes, four acts, and the entire game with all its features. That cost €60 back then.
The expansion Reaper of Souls brought a new class, a new act, and additional features. It cost €40. Already too expensive.
And now just a new class with no new features for €15? That just doesn’t add up. That’s a rip-off.
Neither the size nor the price of DLCs are established
In the gaming world, the prices for main games and expansions are actually well established – not so much for DLCs:
A main game costs €60.
A full-fledged expansion is around €40.
For DLCs, €15 has gradually become the guideline price. If it’s smaller, maybe €10, if it’s bigger, maybe €20.
Blizzard only aligns itself with the “usual prices” for DLCs. All fine, one might think. But no.
Because the first problem is: Players have a rough idea of the scope of an expansion or a main game. However, there is no established scope for a DLC.
No one really knows what a DLC must offer to justify a price of €15. Sometimes that’s just a new map, sometimes a story with several hours of fun, at times a great new chapter that keeps players busy for days, and sometimes it’s hardly anything.
No standards for DLCs have been established. That’s why players negotiate anew every time: Is this DLC worth my money?
This kind of discussion happens much less frequently with expansions.
Only when expansions fall significantly below the “norm” in size and bring too little new content does such a discussion break out – as recently with The Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind. There was a special situation: Many paying ESO players would have preferred to see this expansion as a DLC. Because those are offered for free to players with a quasi-subscription in ESO.
The ratios of DLCs just do not add up
The ratios of DLCs almost never align in comparison to the main game. One can go even further: All prices in gaming are dubious when compared to each other.
Because even the expansion Reaper of Souls, which cost two-thirds of Diablo 3, roughly brought only one-third of the game content.
66% of the cost for 33% of the content? In the supermarket, one would yell “bait-and-switch”.
Developers say: That’s not how you calculate it. But players, as customers, are used to making exactly these calculations. They compare the price of a DLC to the base game. And in this comparison, developers can only lose.
DLCs are meant to offset high production and development costs
The logic of developers is: We continuously develop the game for free, bring patches, fix bugs, maintain a team, keep the servers running, and now and then we need revenue to justify this development effort. Therefore, there are DLCs that must refinance our efforts.
Thus Blizzard would like players not only to pay the €15 for the Necromancer, but also to see it as an investment for the continued seasons and the past and future development of Diablo 3.
Players counter: What development?
Critics and experts have long believed that paid DLCs are a trick by publishers to increase the established base price of €60 for a game retrospectively. Because with expansions and DLCs, that can be significantly raised.
Games cost €60, regardless of how expensive they were to produce
The established base price of €60 seems to be the crux for developers: Customers do not want to pay more. They do not care how high the actual production costs of the game were. However, these can vary significantly depending on the size of the game and how it is supported after release.
Grand Theft Auto V was said to have cost $137 million. In contrast, Witcher 3 cost $46 million, nearly a bargain. However, Rockstar cannot charge €180 for its game just to maintain the ratio to Witcher 3. Customers would not be willing to pay that amount in one go. But in smaller chunks, they would.
No one can deny that the production and maintenance costs of games have risen exorbitantly in recent years. But how these increased costs are passed on to the customer causes anger.
The gaming industry has changed. In the past, a game was completed, and the publisher disbanded the team. Today, developers remain employed, so the expenses are there. The teams are working longer and are larger than before.
The problem is that these increased publisher costs are shifted onto customers through DLCs. The costs are incurred over a long period, but customers are then expected to pay point-blank – for a single, often too small DLC that has to cover the costs of previous patches, the oversizing of the game, and ongoing development.
What am I actually paying for?
At this point, the price/performance ratio is opaque. Because players think to themselves: What am I actually paying €15 for? It can’t just be for this class.
For what exactly this money is spent, really for the work on the game or whether a large portion of the money flows into the profit of the publisher, that is no longer traceable. Does the money really go into the ongoing development of Diablo 3, or does it disappear somewhere into the wallets of publishers? Am I financing an entirely different game or the bonuses of the CEOs?
The relationship between price and product is detached at the moment DLCs are “paid” for:
If I buy a piece of butter in the supermarket, I pay exactly for that butter at the checkout.
If I buy the new Diablo 3 DLC, then I’m not paying for that, but for an abstract construct that stands behind it. I pay for the game to be “maintained” or “more expensive than the standard was in development.” I somehow take on an increased business risk. But I do not know whether I have already paid for that or how far the money is really meant for the ongoing development of the game.
The position of developers is weakening, when looking at the balance sheets of market giants. Because a game like Diablo 3 has already recouped its increased production costs through its incredible success. Here, developers already benefit from the oversizing and further maintenance: People buy Diablo 3 also because they know that it will be further developed and expect it.
The future of DLCs is uncertain
All these problems will also ensure that players will be very upset about DLCs and their prices in the future – especially when DLCs turn out to be as small as in Diablo 3 and the Necromancer.
However: Maybe there will soon be no more DLCs. The trend is moving towards either eliminating DLCs or releasing them for free. The funding of games will then be done through microtransactions. Blizzard is already following this example with its new games like Overwatch and is earning millions without DLCs and with loot boxes.
Is this really better? With loot boxes, the player knows exactly what he is paying for at that moment. However, they bring with them entirely new problems.
If you spend €15 for it, you should also get something out of it:
The Pantheon Wars are soon making their way back into the MMORPG Skyforge. The new season is just around the corner. The God guilds will battle each other without the PvE elements.
When the gods in the MMORPG Skyforge are not fighting off the constant invasions of aliens, what do they do all day? They prepare for the Pantheon Wars to prove who is the mightiest god. These Pantheon Wars always take place in seasons and now the start of Season 3 is approaching.
The new season brings changes
The new season starts on July 1, bringing a series of changes. This includes, the complete removal of all PvE content. This aims to give smaller pantheons a better chance to successfully participate in battles, as the PvE multipliers will no longer play a role.
Previously, the Pantheon Wars were somewhat of a “mix tournament” with complicated rules. Skyforge wants to simplify that now and focus clearly on PvP. The previous concept was probably too complicated.
Additionally, Pantheon tournaments will occur much more often, avoiding long breaks. There are several seasons dedicated to the development of the space program, while others focus solely on competition.
In short: The God Wars are set to happen more frequently and become simpler.
Fights will happen more often
The developers also want Pantheons to fight more often and not rest on their laurels.
The rewards for a successful attack or defense will now be changed to 60% and 40%, respectively. The bonus for plundering territories and the personal rewards for battles have been reduced from 50% to 30%. The final reward for participating in a season is a sum of credits that depends on the score obtained.
With the start of Season 3, some changes to the abilities of certain classes will also come into play, which are intended to give them a boost in the Skyforge PvP arenas. This should enhance and make the Pantheon Wars in Skyforge more interesting.
The German Pokémon Trainer Thorsten Bauer completed Pokémon GO after 322 days. He needed 2200 kilometers for level 40 and all monsters.
This Pokémon Trainer from Düsseldorf has reached the temporary goal of Pokémon GO. He has caught all 233 monsters available to catch in Europe and has achieved the maximum level 40. Bauer believes he is one of about 1000 players in Germany who have caught all 233 Pokémon.
What kind of people have managed to achieve this? Who is Thorsten Bauer?
To reach his goal, Bauer dedicated at least one hour a day to Pokémon GO, which wasn’t easy in winter. In an interview with Bild.de, he shares his Pokémon adventure.
After the hype, the hunt continued
Thorsten Bauer is a Pokémon Trainer from Düsseldorf who has reached level 40 and caught all the Pokémon available to catch in Europe. Instead of spending his money in pubs, he invested his money in Pokémon GO and was motivated to hunt for about a year. Now he has reached his goal and is waiting for new content for Pokémon GO in 2017.
Source: Kotaku
His adventure began on July 13, 2016, when the PokéHype broke out in Germany. At first, he didn’t understand the fuss about the game. Once he downloaded Pokémon GO onto his phone himself, he became captivated and caught up in the collecting passion. He made the game his project with the big goal: Catch all monsters and reach level 40.
With this goal in mind, his daily routine changed. After work, he goes on monster hunts for hours each day. Even when the big hype ended after the summer of 2016, he remained loyal to the game. He met other players with whom he meets to play on weekends.
It became difficult during the winter months when the temperatures were particularly low. “When the temperatures are at freezing point, the motivation curve also goes down to zero”, he says. To still find the necessary experience points, items, and Pokémon, Bauer drove with his friends in the car to the PokéStops.
Although this doesn’t quite align with the purpose of the game, where you are supposed to get to know your surroundings, Bauer says that he walked most of the 2200 kilometers. “There are people who have walked 5000 kilometers,” Bauer adds.
Success comes at a price
Within his immediate friend circle, six trainers have succeeded in catching all Pokémon and reaching level 40. He found over 33,000 monsters in eggs and in the wild until he finally had one of each type.
He himself invested a high three-digit amount into the game to reach level 40 after this time. “Some go out on Saturday evenings and spend 40€ on drinks, and I spend my money on Pokémon – and have just as great a time as the pub-goer.”
Next goal?
After reaching this milestone, he doesn’t want to stop playing Pokémon GO. He might not play with the same intensity anymore, but he says he wouldn’t quit. Instead, he is looking forward to the many new features that Niantic has announced.
He is looking forward to July 13, when the game turns one year old and this event will be celebrated with the players.
Two missions in World of Warcraft are currently causing confusion. We explain what the “Pillars of Creation” and the “Lady of the Tomb” are about.
Since World of Warcraft has abandoned directional information in quest descriptions and instead incorporates more story and background information into tasks, there are ongoing issues. Because when a quest is not clearly marked on the map, finding the solution becomes difficult.
WoW Quest the Pillars of Creation
Currently, many players have a problem with the quest “The Pillars of Creation“, which is available in the Legion judges’ camp. The quest requires players to place all Pillars of Creation in the correct locations to loosen the seals that were once set by Aegwynn.
There are two things to consider.
1. The quest is completed in the raid “The Tomb of Sargeras”. As not all wings are open in LFR yet, it may take several weeks for non-raiders to complete the quest. 2. The quest is occasionally buggy. The Pillars of Creation must be placed after defeating certain bosses (such as Mistress Sass’ine) – but this is not always possible for all players. Sometimes only a few can place a pillar, and sometimes it counts for all players. This appears to simply be a bug. On the next visit to the raid instance, it might go better.
By the way, the pillars do not need to be “in the inventory”, as some players jokingly claim. A clickable silhouette appears after defeating the bosses, which simply needs to be clicked.
The Lady of the Tomb
Players have a similar problem with the quest “The Lady of the Tomb”. It starts through the reward of a class hall mission and requires the player to defeat Mistress Sass’ine on any difficulty. So far, so simple.
However, unlike almost all other missions, it is then not turned in at the class hall! Instead, you go to the Legion judges’ base at the Broken Isles. You can turn in the quest at the NPC standing next to the table where you usually submit the Legion judges’ resources. Strangely, this is also not marked on the map for many players.
Is World of Warcraft borrowing from Diablo 3 again? New gameplay content strongly resembles the Rifts!
Patch 7.3 of World of Warcraft is still in a very early version on the test servers, but many game contents have already been teased. Data miners are currently dissecting the patch piece by piece and are coming across all sorts of interesting things.
Apparently, World of Warcraft is again borrowing from Diablo III in Patch 7.3 and is imitating some of the gameplay content for the MMORPG.
Accordingly, there will be “Invasion Points” in Patch 7.3 that closely resemble the Rifts from Diablo 3. There are various Riftstones that allow for different gameplay types. A “Depleted Riftstone” allows access to small Rifts. A “Charged Riftstone” on the other hand allows access to both small and large Rifts.
Rifts in WoW like in Diablo 3?
Presumably, the mechanics will work similarly to Diablo 3, where smaller Rifts must first be tackled within a time limit to upgrade the stone. After a success, players can then advance into the larger Rifts, which presumably also yield greater and more rewards.
Whether this will be content for solo players or groups is still unknown. As solo content, it would be exciting, as it would provide a nice counterpart to the Mythic Keystones for which a full group is necessary – and not everyone always feels like that.
No specific information about this gameplay content is available yet, apart from the fact that players can “fight the Legion on multiple worlds” – that sounds very much like mini-scenarios in which players can kick the demons’ behinds.
It will also be interesting to see if these Rifts will have a story component, as there have been very few other planets visible in World of Warcraft, indicating a strong need for clarification and exciting stories.
Pokémon GO is about to turn one year old in a few days and is celebrating its anniversary. A hint about the event was discovered in the code and the community is excited.
There are only a few days left until the birthday of Pokémon GO. On July 6, 2016, the augmented reality game was first released and has since captivated millions of players.
Data-mining has recently found a hint about an anniversary event. The community is already looking forward to the event.
Pokémon GO Birthday Event
The latest Pokémon GO update fixed several bugs that prevented players from participating in raids. You can find the patch notes for update 0.67.2 here. However, there are also more changes to the game that were added in this update.
The data miners from PokémonGOHub found clues in the game’s code about a very special event. The line ONE_YEAR_ANNIVERSARY suggests that trainers can expect celebrations in Pokémon GO soon. A specific date or special rewards and in-game bonuses have not been announced yet.
For us at Mein-MMO.de, the birthday is something very special. On July 13, 2016, we reported that the Pokémon GO versions for Android and iOS were now officially available. Since then, our Pokémon GO community has grown and is celebrating alongside us about new events announced by the developers.
Therefore, the excitement about the possible birthday event is also great for us. As soon as we know more details about the birthday event, we will inform you here.
What bonuses and rewards would you like to celebrate the birthday event with?
In the Free2Play MMORPG Secret World Legends , some games have an aggressive cash shop. The buzzword is “Pay2Win.” With patch 2.0.1., Funcom aims to ease this. Apparently, some criticism regarding the monetization was initially ignored during the beta, and critics were allegedly banned.
Secret World was previously a subscription MMORPG, then switched to a buy2play payment model and has now resurrected as “Secret World Legends” as a Free2Play game five years after the launch.
Secret World Legends offers a free entry and then relies on a cash shop. Many things available in the game can either be ground out or quickly unlocked through spending money.
Criticism of the cash shop was likely raised during beta, but it was ignored
Some players feel that the cash shop is “tuned too harshly,” meaning there is too much incentive to spend money in the game and buy character progress: A video review looks at Secret World Legends in this regard and harshly criticizes the cash shop:

Harsh criticism: Secret World as a prostitute to make money
Criticisms include:
The “normal inventory” is too small and needs to be expanded at a high cost.
New weapons cannot simply be unlocked; one must unlock individual pages separately, the weapon itself, and then more.
Additionally, while players can find “loot boxes,” after a certain amount, they must buy keys to access the loot.
Overall, Secret World Legends is perceived as being set up like the old game solely as a “cash grab” to access players’ money. The video is harsh in its criticism and wording.
The reviewer states: He and many others raised their concerns about the cash shop in the beta forum of Secret World Legends – but they fell on deaf ears. The reviewer was subsequently banned because his comments were deemed unhelpful. One can imagine: He is quite annoyed.
He says: Funcom likely needs money because the old MMORPGs are no longer running and Conan Exiles still needs development time.
So Funcom decided to “prostitute” its beloved Secret World to make money. Ouch.
Changes with patch 2.0.1 make Secret World Legends friendlier
There are certainly counter-arguments to this extreme position, and some find the direction Funcom is taking with Secret World to be good. Some comment under the video that they are having a lot of fun even without spending money.
But the criticism of the cash shop is at least so significant that Funcom is announcing changes. Ironically, almost all points raised by the banned video reviewer in his YouTube video, which now has over 14,000 views, are being addressed:
Funcom plans to increase the inventory from 25 to 35 slots with the next patch.
Additionally, the price for sprint 2 and unlocking the first weapons will be lowered. Players should be able to buy both on the first day.
They will also combine the “active and passive” sides of the weapon. Then both weapon sides can be unlocked for the price that currently costs one side.
Other changes:
They also want to increase the loot in dungeons and bring numerous other improvements based on player feedback.
Paying players, the Patrons, will also receive advantages.
With “Elite Dungeons,” a type of scalable difficulty will be introduced – similar to the torment levels in Diablo 3.

In Call of Duty WW2 there will be Supply Drops. The weapon variants in them are only cosmetic and not equipped with better stats.
During a Q&A session on Reddit, Michael Condrey from Sledgehammer Games addressed the community’s questions. He explained that the weapon variants and gear variants from Supply Drops will only have cosmetic changes. The values of the weapons will not be altered by these drops.
Cosmetic Variants from Supply Drops
The Supply Drop system known from other parts of the Call of Duty series will also be present in the latest WW2 installment. In the past, Supply Drops have been heavily criticized by the community. They function similarly to loot boxes in Overwatch and reward players with new content.
Unlike Overwatch, players in Call of Duty Infinite Warfare could receive not only cosmetic items from drops but also “improved weapons” with higher damage or fire rates. The advantage over standard weapons was significant and attracted players to purchase these supply deliveries.
Fans are naturally curious about how the supply system will work in the new Call of Duty: WWII and whether it will have similar content to its predecessor. Michael Condrey wrote on Reddit: “All weapon variants and gear variants in Call of Duty WWII Supply Drops are only cosmetic. There are no variants based on stats.”
It is not possible to obtain a version of your weapon with better stats from the supply drops.
However, this does not mean that all items from Supply Drops are purely cosmetic. Condrey only states that the weapon and gear variants are exclusively cosmetic. He does not mention whether there will also be strong weapons in the Supply Drops. We will probably find out when we approach the release of Call of Duty WWII.
Additionally, in the new Collections and Collection Bounties system, many of the items from Supply Drops can be earned. This is meant to be a “direct way for the community to earn items in all multiplayer modes and Headquarters.” This way, players do not feel the need to farm keys or purchase Supply Drops.
Through the new system, you will earn content without having to spend money. However, you probably won’t get “all” the items from COD: WWII this way. From an economic perspective, it probably makes more sense to offer special cosmetics as purchasable content in the shop.
Call of Duty: WWII is set to be released on November 3, 2017, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
In Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood, the quest “Stingrays versus Snakes” proves to be a stumbling block. Where are the cursed snakes? How can the cursed quest be solved? All information in our short guide to the infernal stingray quest in Stormblood.
Stormblood has been playable since June 16, and I have been diligently questing. So far, I have made good progress. I first hit a snag at level 63 and the quest “Stingrays versus Snakes.”
The Problem with the Quest Stingrays versus Snakes
The problem with the quest is: I need to fertilize water snakes while riding on a “Swimming/Flying Stingray”.
In two quest steps prior, I was also riding the stingray. I had to leave the village of Tamamizu, where the quest starts, heading west into the water and swim to specific points.
If I try to do this with the quest “Stingrays versus Snakes” in Final Fantasy XIV, I go crazy. I can’t reach the points that are indicated on the mini-map. They are simply not accessible by water.
The Solution to the Final Fantasy XIV Quest “Stingrays versus Snakes”
The nasty part here is: I have to leave the village heading east – “on the ground”, meaning flying over land with the stingray.
When I then turn right when leaving the village, I exit the cave system and can easily find the three sought-after locations under the open sky, fertilize the snakes, and go my way.

The nasty part about the quest is that I was completely conditioned differently in the two prior quests, I am set to “It’s all in the water – the stingray can only swim” and therefore, I have been struggling with a relatively simple quest.
Have you also had such experiences where there is simply a blockage in some quests that you can’t overcome?
If you have completed the quest, the next stumbling block is probably the Primals fight against Susanoo. How that goes, we explain to you in this article:
In GTA 5 Online players have now forced contact with aliens and stolen the alien eggs. A significant advance in the Chiliad mystery.
For many years, players of GTA 5 have been trying to determine the connection between aliens and the game. Drawings in the game have shown a connection to Mount Chiliad, which has motivated Easter egg hunters for a long time to unravel the mystery surrounding the aliens.
With the recently released Gunrunning DLC new code has been added to the game that provides clues about a crashed spaceship. Players were now able to manipulate the game to display the spaceship and make a special discovery. However, the alien hunters are not entirely satisfied.
The Chiliad Mystery – Players Steal Alien Eggs
The story surrounding Mount Chiliad and its connection to aliens has been followed for years. One reason for this is this image that shows the mountain with interesting illustrations such as an egg inside:
Source: Chiliadmystery
With the recently released Gunrunning DLC for GTA 5 Online, there were new clues about this mystery that rekindled the explorers’ curiosity.
In the code of the update, the mystery hunters found information about a crashed spaceship that is part of a mission of the DLC. A hype immediately broke out in the online community as many players attempted to start the mission. However, they were unsuccessful. No one could initially see the spaceship or play a mission associated with it.
They took a closer look at the code and found out that a specific value in the lines of code needs to be activated by Rockstar.
If you have been searching for aliens for years and are very close to the goal, you apparently do not wait for the developers to be ready.
So the value was “modified” by the players themselves, and suddenly the mission was available for the modders. As part of a supply collection, one must go to a crashed spaceship and steal alien eggs there. You can see what it looks like in the following video at about 5 minutes and 15 seconds.

With the latest results, the mystery hunters “the Chiliad Gurus” are still not satisfied. There are still many unanswered questions. For example, when this mission will be activated for all players in the game, or if it is simply particularly rare.
It is assumed that this is not the “end” of this Easter egg, but rather that more content related to this alien theme may still be found. So the research in GTA 5 Online remains exciting.
In Destiny 2, a news has caused a stir and has the community buzzing: No more random rolls on weapons and armor.
Ouch, that hit hard. No presentation, no official news from Bungie about Destiny has echoed as much as this statement in an interview with Game Director Luke Smith. This has the greatest explosive impact of all news about Destiny 2 so far, as it goes to the core of what Destiny is about: the loot system.
Luke Smith explained in an interview with mashable: In Destiny 2, there are no more random rolls on items. What is on the weapons is on the weapons. Every piece of armor and every weapon in Destiny 2 will be “handcrafted” with fixed attributes.
Felwinter’s Lie – regarded as one of the first “OP weapons” due to range perks.
Why is the news such a shock?
The news led to 80 comments on our site, despite the news coming out on Friday afternoon when many Guardians were already off for the weekend. Normally, Guardians at this time do not care about news, but lovingly devote themselves to their PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
In the Reddit forum, the thread on the subject has swollen to over 1000 comments.
The news is such a hammer because the “search for weapons with the perfect roll, the God roll” is the activity that keeps hardcore players engaged in PvE and PvP of Destiny: The search for the “Holy Grail”, the ideal version of a weapon, kept Guardians busy long after every boss had been defeated.
The pulse rifle is hot. Grip of Malok has been highly sought after for months – with the right perk combination.
Finding a weapon exactly as it fits your playstyle is what makes the allure of Destiny’s previous loot system. Some have spent hours farming for a perfectly rolled “Grip of Malok” or a “The Clever Dragon”.
The search for the “last few percentage points of performance” has so far been the real endgame of Destiny.
Once a Guardian found this God-roll weapon, they felt special. Even though the weapon only increased their performance by a few percentage points compared to other Guardians, it provided a lot of motivation.
But if this changes: What are Guardians supposed to engage with in Destiny 2 long-term?
What reasons might Bungie have for the move?
Luke Smith says, it is primarily about balancing. In Destiny 1, weapons like “The Clever Dragon” were too strong with certain roll combinations. If there is only one version of Clever Dragon with fixed, handcrafted perks, balancing is easier and weapons can be “tuned” individually.
So much for the official version.
Players believe Bungie wants to push Destiny further into the “casual direction”, reduce complicated theory crafting, andalign the game with “equal equipment for everyone” more towards esports.
What do players say on Mein-MMO.de about the change?
For example, “Der Ralle” says: And again a change that kicks hardcore players in the ass and makes the whole game more accessible to casuals.
Simon Hartmann says: “I find that mega boring. Honestly, I can’t imagine what the long-term motivation will be?”
User dh thinks: “I have a really bad feeling about this. First, the drastic simplification of the focuses, now this.”
Some see the change less critically.
For instance, BigFlash88 says: “If there are enough weapons, I see no problem. But there must also be at least 30-40 weapons per class.”
vvV AmNesiA Vvv says: “Now that all perk combinations are gone, I’m not really bothered. With raid weapons, the Osiris weapons, and exotic weapons, it’s the same.”
Opinions are also divided in the subreddit for Destiny:
In the Reddit forum, one Guardian says: “It looks like they’re openly admitting that they’re taking away player rolls on weapons to make their job easier.”
Another says: “So they are leading us away from God rolls towards hunting for specific drops. But aren’t we then all running around with the same stuff?”
Guardians want a crafting or modding system instead
Interestingly, Luke Smith announces that Bungie has some “interesting ideas” on how to make “double and triple” drops of items interesting.
However, Smith does not provide further information. He does not yet know if these ideas will make it into the launch version of Destiny 2 in early September or if players will have to wait longer.
The Guardians have three main ideas about what this could be:
a “mod system” that allows for targeted changes to weapons
a “crafting system” that allows items to be created by players
or a traditional “upgrade system” like those found in Asian MMORPGs, where players can merge duplicate items into stronger items of the same type
It will be interesting to see what idea Bungie comes up with to make the “loot system” of Destiny 2 exciting.
What system would you look forward to?

The highly anticipated action MMO Lost Ark is about to enter its second closed beta round in Korea. Additionally, three new classes are now explained in detail for the first time.
Lost Ark is an upcoming action MMO from South Korea, which has already gone through a closed beta last summer 2016. As is customary in Korea, the developers remain silent between beta phases and only reveal new information right before the start of the next test phase.
Although it is still unclear when the second beta in Korea will start, details about the three new classes of the second beta from Korea are now known.
Lost Ark – New classes Destroyer, Arcana, and Summoner coming
It has been clear for some time that there will be three new classes in the second closed beta. Only details about the newcomers were previously lacking – except for the Summoner. However, the secret has now been revealed. The three new classes have the following characteristics:
Destroyer: This hefty fighter hero wields a huge “Gravity Hammer”. While he may be slow, he is incredibly destructive.
Arcana: This sorceress uses magic for combat at short and medium range. She can also draw magical cards that trigger a random effect.
Summoner: This mage is the classic summoner pet class in Lost Ark. She summons various beings to assist her as damage dealers, tanks, or support.
What do you think about the new classes in Lost Ark? Are you eagerly waiting for the action MMO from Korea? Or are you skeptical about whether it will ever come to the West? Let us know in the comments!
WoW wants to know it from the puzzle masters again. A new hidden mount excites players, it is about the mount “Lucid Nightmare.”
With Legion, World of Warcraft has gained a new aspect that MMORPG players have missed for a long time: puzzles. No matter if it’s Kosumoth, the long-lost hippogryph, or just recently the Young Sun Darter – if there is a puzzle, then the search team is already ready to get the new WoW mount.
Clearly, the big puzzle guessing continues in patch 7.3, as something suspicious can already be discovered in the collections on the PTR for the Argus patch.
The mount “Lucid Nightmare“, a monohorn that appears to be infused with void or shadow magic, has a very suspicious drop source: Puzzle Master’s Demand.
Presumably, this is again a chest or another lootable object that can only be opened at the very end of a long treasure hunt.
The search team is ready for the Lucid Nightmare
On the Discord server that has proclaimed itself the “Secret Finding” in World of Warcraft, preparations and planning are heating up again. Some players are already searching the PTR for clues and possible hiding spots, but the PTR version of patch 7.3 is still incomplete.
Moreover, it is very likely that Blizzard has not activated the corresponding puzzle on the test server so that it cannot be found in advance.
A resolution to the puzzle will likely only be possible in the weeks following the release of patch 7.3. But then the puzzle masters from the Discord server will be ready and will dig up the game world again.
As soon as there is a solution for the location of the Lucid Nightmare, we will publish a guide for it.
Guides to the previous puzzles of Legion can be found here:
The next hero in Heroes of the Storm will be the infected terran Alexei Stukov. Although he is a supporter, he has really bad abilities!
Blizzard has finally revealed who the next hero of Heroes of the Storm will be. For the sake of all involved, Jürgen was wrong with his “Dronius” guess – instead, the infected terran Alexei Stukov joins the Nexus!
Alexei Stukov is a rather well-known figure from StarCraft and its sequel StarCraft 2. As an important leader of the terrans, he was betrayed and died, only to be infected and resurrected by the Zerg. This granted the Zerg great knowledge about the terrans and allowed them to coordinate attacks better.
Although he was healed by the Protoss and became a human again, his people experimented on him to find a cure for the infection. During this, he was infected again and subsequently was taken into the swarm by Kerrigan, whom he still serves today.

In Heroes of the Storm, Stukov will be a supporter who heals allies and slows down and silences enemies. Let’s take a closer look at Stukov’s abilities:
Healing pathogen is cast on an ally and provides a healing over time. Healing pathogen jumps to other nearby allies every second who are not already affected.
Viral pustule is its counterpart. Stukov launches a projectile that pierces enemies and infects them with a virus. The virus deals damage over time and slows down enemies with increasing effect.
The trait Immune response can be activated at will and causes all active viruses and pathogens to explode, instantly ending their effect. Exploded heals heal for a large amount, exploded viruses deal damage and massively slow the victims.
With Deep Arm, Stukov thrusts his hand into the ground, which reappears elsewhere and creates an area effect. Enemies in the area effect take ongoing damage and are silenced. The spell can be channeled indefinitely.
Stukov’s first heroic ability is Massive Charge. Upon activation, Stukov gains a large amount of armor and thrusts his arm in the targeted direction. The first enemy hero hit is pushed back in a straight line until they hit a wall or other impassable terrain and then takes damage.
Arm Swing is the second heroic ability. Stukov strikes three times, with the cone of the attack becoming larger each time. Hit enemies are knocked back and take minor damage.
Stukov is now being tested on the PTR. As soon as he is available in the Nexus, we will inform you.
StarCraft Remastered is finally becoming a reality! Blizzard has now revealed what the old fun in new HD attire will cost.
No matter how you turn it, the original StarCraft from 1998 has aged significantly with its almost 20 years. Not only does the graphics look highly pixelated, but many systems can no longer run the classic game without installing additional programs.
That’s why Blizzard has decided (and because the game is still popular worldwide) to create a “remastered” version of StarCraft. Here, the graphics are polished, the pixel count increased, and generally the entire game is visually enhanced. The game feel or mechanics, however, remain unchanged – they want to keep the “timeless gameplay” intact.
StarCraft Remastered will be released on August 14
Now a release date has finally been announced. StarCraft Remastered can be played from August 14, 2017 – so in about 6 weeks. The price in Europe is €14.99. The game can already be pre-ordered in the Blizzard Store.
By the way: Don’t let the product description confuse you. It states that you need the StarCraft Anthology to play, but this is available for free download from Blizzard.

Anyone who decides to purchase and pre-order before the release on August 14 will receive some bonuses. There are 3 exclusive skins for the main buildings of the species (Char Char Store, Korhal Command Center, and Aiur Nexus). Additionally, buyers will receive some upgrades in StarCraft 2: the Coop Commander Alexei Stukov and 3 portraits.
Will you buy StarCraft Remastered? Did you already play the classic version back then? Do you want to catch up on a bit of gaming history now? Or do you avoid the game because the gameplay is from the last millennium?

Marvel Heroes Omega – Superhero MMO on consoles this month
On June 30, it is finally happening. Then the open beta for the PS4 version will end and the Xbox version of Marvel Heroes will also be released on this date. From then on, you can download the game for free from the respective console store and play. As a free-to-play game, you do not need to spend any money on Marvel Heroes and can unlock your heroes in the game as well.
For those who want to progress faster, heroes and other goodies can also be unlocked immediately for real money. Unfortunately, the console versions of Marvel Heroes lag behind the PC version a bit. So far, only 38 heroes are playable instead of 60. However, the rest is expected to be added soon.
However, the console version has a cool local co-op mode. You can lounge and play with friends on the same couch.
Fans can now bring D.Va from Overwatch home as a statue. However, this will cost a pretty penny…
The fact that Overwatch has become such a huge success is largely due to the vibrant and colorful personalities that burst with character and offer plenty of points of identification. But those who truly love a hero from Overwatch not only play as her every day – they also display her on their desk!
The statue is hand-modeled and also hand-painted, making each statue a unique piece. The pose is D.Va’s “typical” appearance, as she sits on the weapon of her mech in her battle suit, brushing her hair behind the headset.
The statue measures 19 inches, which is a bit over 48cm. Therefore, it requires ample space.
Anyone who has given their heart to D.Va and wants to expand their statue collection can grab one now for a casual $450 and secure a copy of the statue. Due to D.Va’s popularity, interested fans and collectors should not wait too long because, as experience shows, the statues tend to sell out relatively quickly – the one from Tracer is currently no longer available.
Would you buy such a statue and display it in your room? Or would you find it a) too nerdy and b) way too expensive? Or have you already ordered it? Let us know in the comments!
