The gaming platform Steam has done some serious housekeeping. Over 40,000 accounts have been closed!
Those who like to cheat regularly in games have already lost quite a few gaming accounts. This is where particularly cheap offers come in handy, where games cost only a fraction of the actual price – such as the Summer Sale from Steam.
However, just one day after the end of the Summer Sale, there was a major incident. Apparently, Steam has taken decisive action and launched a sweeping crackdown against cheaters and fraudsters. According to several databases that check Steam user data, the operators have permanently closed just over 40,000 gaming accounts!
This is the largest ban wave that Steam has ever had on its platform. The old record of “only” 15,000 banned accounts from October 2016 now takes a distant second place.
Many games on Steam are secured by VAC (Valve Anti Cheat). If a player is identified cheating in a game, they can (as a rule) no longer play online in all other VAC games.
Although there hasn’t been a confirmation from Valve regarding the actions, it seems that the day of account bans coincided quite closely with the end of the Summer Sale.
Effectively, the cheaters who bought during the Summer Sale literally threw their money out the window, as the suspension of their accounts likely also makes returning games impossible.
The money seems to have vanished into thin air. Or rather in this case, into steam.

The zones of WoW: Legion are packed with content – but does the game lose something in the process?
If you take a closer look at the zones of World of Warcraft: Legion, you’ll find a theme park MMO in its purest form. Every location is filled with quests, treasure chests, and rare enemies. Whether it’s Val’sharah, Suramar, or Stormheim – adventures, challenges, and always rewards await everywhere.
But that’s exactly what bothers some fans. Not everyone wants action and excitement around every corner; some want to lose themselves in a zone. A zone should feel like a real environment, not like a carnival where something is always happening.
In Dragonblight, you were a small dot in the environment – the area was vast and desolate. Completely fitting.
They miss simply “disappearing” in a zone – anyone who has stood in the desolate surroundings of the Dragonblight (without a flying mount!) surely knows what the players are talking about. There were places where “nothing important” happened, which gave them such a beautiful atmosphere. But exactly those vast zones have become a rarity.
Jade Forest and Shadowmoon Valley were atmospheric zones
The Jade Forest from Mists of Pandaria is cited as a particularly positive example. The many small villages of the Pandaren and the numerous “beautiful locations” that didn’t even have quests leading to them remain a fond memory for many players. It felt like you were actually traveling through a beautiful forest and not in a forced-designed quest zone.
Also in Warlords of Draenor, there was another example. The Shadowmoon Valley (Alliance) was a wonderful landscape in which you could get lost. The small buildings of the Draenei with the numerous NPCs, who had different dialogues and followed a routine – that was beautiful.
Cortyn says: While I find all the areas of Legion beautiful and cohesive and certainly refer to them as some of the “most beautiful areas so far” in terms of sheer graphical splendor, I miss something.
When I think back to Shadowmoon Valley from WoD, I sometimes ran through the countryside for minutes, just taking in the surroundings, feeling like I was just a small part in a big world. Yes, I miss vast zones, with a bit more tranquility – maybe the next addon will help with that.

Those who love Doomfist from Overwatch don’t use a keyboard or a gamepad for him. Real Doomfist professionals use a boxing glove!
A strange trend has established itself for Overwatch, where the various heroes in the game are not played with a keyboard or a gamepad, but with another control device. While players like Rudeism create a controller for Winston out of banana peels and a lot of technical gadgetry or even repurpose a baguette as a sniper rifle for Widowmaker, other streamers remain a bit more down-to-earth.
On the Overwatch subreddit, user ATwerkinYoshi showcased how he interpreted Doomfist’s control. And what better way to do that than with an actual boxing glove, allowing him to swing the villain’s fists?

This was made possible by the controller of a Nintendo Wii. The Nunchuck is used for basic control in the left hand, but all abilities come from the Wiimote. This is integrated into the glove and responds to different movements that work excellently with Doomfist’s abilities.

When he punches upward to execute an uppercut, Doomfist does the same in the game. If he retracts his fist and then quickly thrusts it forward, Doomfist charges ahead. The controls work excellently for all abilities – Doomfist would be proud.

First: You see here a Control match in Destiny 2. The game is played on a map called “Endless Vale”.
At the bottom left of the screen, the abilities of the Sentinel are displayed: The grenade, the melee, and a class-specific ability. Interestingly, these are wrapped in the colors of the corresponding subclass. Here they are purple because the Sentinel represents the Void focus of the Titan. So if you forget which focus you have equipped during a match, the colors will remind you.
The class-specific ability – which is new in Destiny 2 – is a barricade. These abilities depend on the class, not the focus. In other words, all Titans can erect the same barricades. You have two options here: Either you create a large shield barricade (by holding down the circle button (PS4)), behind which you can take complete cover. Or you set up a slightly smaller shield that you can aim over with your weapon.
At the start of the video, the Sentinel erects a large barricade.
The Super is activated around minute 3:59. The Titan then slams his shield down on some enemies. The shield can be used for protection, as a melee weapon, or as a ranged weapon by throwing it at enemies.

So far, the PC version of Marvel Heroes was called “Marvel Heroes 2016”, while the console versions for PS4 and Xbox One were known as “Marvel Heroes Omega”. But now that is over, and all versions of the game have the same name.
Marvel Heroes was released as Marvel Heroes Omega for consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On the console, the game works – as seen in the video by our chief Dawid – extremely well, but according to developer Gazillion, the PC version is still supposed to be the leading platform.

Marvel Heroes Omega – Same Name, but Different Content
In the latest patch notes for Marvel Heroes on PC, Gazillion announced that they will now uniformly change the name to Marvel Heroes Omega to prevent confusion and misunderstandings. So far, the PC version was called “Marvel Heroes 2016” – that is now over.
However, the console versions and the PC version of Marvel Heroes still have different content. The recently released Patch 2.13 on PC did not bring the desired Omega content, but only a few item adjustments and bug fixes.

The multiplayer shooter Star Wars Battlefront 2 will have an open beta on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Here are the dates.
The shooter Star Wars Battlefront 2 opens its doors to a “multiplayer beta” on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in October.
The beta runs from October 6 to October 9. Then the open beta will take place.

According to the roadmap for Secret World Legends, you can regularly look forward to more game content in the remake. The elite dungeons were already implemented in the last major update. Additionally, there are the following contents until the end of the year:
July/August: Continuation of the story mission in Transylvania. Explore secrets and conspiracies and provide snowmobile races.
July/August: Special event “The Whispering Flood”. The “dirt” is invading Agartha and you must fight it. Afterwards, continue to Tokyo.
August: Inner Kaidan in Tokyo. Explore the quarantined Tokyo and continue the main story.
August:Mega–bosses. Summon the mega bosses from their lair in Agartha and defeat them in a 40-person raid.

Secret World Legends – New Content 2018 – Where to go?
Those who want completely new content will have to wait a bit longer. Because only at the end of 2017/beginning of 2018 will entirely new elements be introduced into the game. There you can expect the “Dark Agartha”, a follower system with agents and a new land where the main story will continue.
What exactly these new contents will look like is still unknown. There is already lively discussion and speculation on Reddit. Many players see the agent system as a kind of garrison feature like in World of Warcraft or followers as in SWTOR.
Regarding the new region, some fans speculate about the Antarctica, the Congo, or even the Moon! These locations have been teased quite frequently in previous missions.
In Destiny 2 there are major changes in PvP. The Control mode is being revamped.
Let’s continue with the info about Destiny 2! Throughout July, IGN will release exclusive information and content about Destiny 2 in their “IGN First” format. Today, on July 10th, it’s all about PvP.
In Destiny 2, Guardians will need to adapt to some changes in the Crucible. Since mid-May, it has been known that all PvP modes will exclusively be played in 4v4. Additionally, a new PvP mode called Countdown along with the Crucible map “Midtown” has already been revealed.

IGN speaks with the Crucible Design Lead Lars Bakken about the changes in the Control mode:
First of all, in Control, it also applies: You play 4v4. In Destiny 1, you had 6v6 matches. The player count is therefore reduced to a total of 8.
At the beginning of a Control match, zones A and C are already captured by the respective teams. This is to prevent you from having too many objectives at the start and to avoid immediate chaos in the match.
You no longer need to neutralize the zones when the enemy has them. You can capture them directly.
It now takes significantly less time to capture a zone alone. Thus, multiple players do not need to be in a zone to capture it quickly. Other Guardians can focus on other zones meanwhile.
The flag at the control point becomes transparent when you approach it. The reason behind this: It’s disruptive in combat when the flag is in your face. This way, you can better aim at your opponents.
When you kill an enemy, you get one point. If you control two zones, you get two points. And if you control all three zones, you get 3 points per kill. In Destiny 1, the points were in the hundreds. This is now simplified.
The matches are slightly shorter than in Destiny 1. They expect around 8 minutes.
The new Control mode is intended to be more tactical; everything should flow better.

Nova Bomb: Homing instead of Mass Destruction in Destiny 2
And surprise: The Nova Bomb in Destiny is homing. In the video, it even curves around corners and chases the enemy like a projectile from the rocket launcher “Truth.”.
Phew, many Nova Bomb fans will be relieved that they will keep their super.
However, a lot is changing now. Due to the shift in PvP from 6vs6 to 4vs4, it will be less common for the Warlock to hit a whole bunch of enemies, so “homing against single opponents” is probably more important than mass destruction.
This is also because in Destiny 2 the Control mode will change in details. The “capping” of individual points will happen much faster. As a result, it will happen less frequently that the Warlock can feast on a group of enemies on a platter.

Black Desert Online is getting a new Horde PvE mode in the Korea version. In this mode, you defend a base against waves of increasingly powerful enemies.
Many epics and films have a final scene in which the well-fortified heroes bravely defend themselves against hordes of enemies. And because such a scenario is ideal for games, there is now a “Horde Mode” in many games. In this, players fight against increasingly difficult waves of enemies until they ultimately fall or triumph against all odds.
Black Desert Online is now also getting such a Horde mode.

Albion Online – After Shitsorm – More items for founder packs
Customers who purchased the now unavailable founder packs can be happy. Because they now receive not only their founder pack goodies but also all items from the corresponding starter pack equivalent and an additional 10 percent bonus gold.
This action is a compensation from the developers because some fans were upset that founder packs offered little added value compared to the starter packs and did not include a starter mount, for example. Therefore, the developers quickly added the starter pack items to the founder packs.

Niantic has apparently revised the contents of the 2KM, 5KM, and 10KM eggs in Pokémon GO. New Pokémon are now expected from the eggs.
In Pokémon GO, you don’t necessarily have to catch new Pokémon in the wild to add them to your collection. Another option is eggs from which Pokémon can hatch. Niantic periodically changes the contents of these eggs.
It seems that there has been another change in the contents. Some monsters have been moved to new categories, while others now hatch from the eggs for the first time.
Chikorita, Crocanaw, and Cyndaquil now from eggs
It looks like the contents of the eggs in Pokémon GO have changed again. The eggs are divided into three categories: 2KM, 5KM, and 10KM. You must cover this distance with the corresponding egg in the incubator for a Pokémon to hatch from it.
During the anniversary event in Pokémon GO, there are now monsters in the eggs that previously did not hatch from them at all. This was noticed by Reddit user Dudleyshwam, who created a clear list of them. New Pokémon include Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Crocanaw, which were not previously found in eggs. Hi-Rez Studio has examined player feedback and analyzed its own data.
The result: It is currently too difficult to unlock cards. In Paladins, players build decks with cards to customize the abilities of the champions. Deckbuilding is the heart of Paladins.
