A good killer must now kill in Dead by Daylight. The “point shoving” is hardly possible now.
The rank system of Dead by Daylight has caused confusion among players for months. Whether someone rises or falls has previously depended solely on the blood points earned. These can be gained for almost all actions in the game. The absurdity: both the killer and the survivors could rise at the same time if they simply play “together” and pass points to each other.
But now that is over. The Patch 1.5.3 of Dead by Daylight fundamentally revised the ranking system of the killers yesterday (04.07.2017). Whether they gain or lose a rank now depends not on the blood points, but on how many players they have sacrificed – and for how long.
To satisfy the dark entity, the killer must complete the “Killer Goals”. These are a maximum of 16 points that can be earned if there are 4 survivors.
Hanging on the hook: +1 Killer Goal
Survivor reaches Phase 2 on the hook (must defend themselves): +1 Killer Goal
Offering: +2 Killer Goals (1 for the kill, 1 for satisfying the entity)
Furthermore, there are also Killer Goals when survivors have a disconnect, so the killer does not go empty-handed.
At the end of a match, it will then be checked how many goals a killer has achieved and thus determined whether they rise or not.
7 or fewer Killer Goals: Killer drops one pip (rank point)
8 Killer Goals: Killer maintains their current rank
9 to 15 Killer Goals: Killer rises one pip
16 Killer Goals: Killer rises 2 pips
The change was introduced, according to the developers, because it was not really important for the killer whether they also killed survivors. But that should be the killer’s primary goal – after all, that’s why they have their name.
Furthermore, some items and offerings have been revised. The various “Memento Mori” offerings now allow the immediate killing of a survivor only if they have hung on the hook at least once.
In addition, the two phases on the hook have been extended by 15 seconds each. So you can “hang” for 60 seconds in Phase 1 and 60 more in the “Struggle” phase.
Cortyn says: I fear that this change will lead to even more face camping. The change to the extended “hanging on the hook” time will have little influence on that. Ambitious killers are now even more encouraged to keep their prey in sight, which usually massively disrupts the fun of the game. On the other hand, it is also not the killer’s duty to make the survivors have fun – I still find this solution unfortunate, as I expected more.
The Necromancer is already known to many of you from Diablo 2. Now the Necro is also available in Diablo 3. Which one is better?
You could already play a Necromancer in Blizzard’s last installment of the hack and slash series. However, in Diablo 2, the Necro was different from the new Necromancer in Diablo 3, which was released a few days ago.
We show you how the “old” and “new” versions of the Diablo Necromancer differ. What could the old one do better? Where does the new one excel?
Necromancer from Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 Compared
In this comparison, we will look at some differences between the two necromancers. What has “the new one” taken from the original? Was the old Necromancer better, or is the new one a worthy successor?
We will specifically focus on the pets and companions that you can count as a Necromancer in your army. But the two variants of the Necro also differ in curses and bone abilities.
Minions / Pets – Which last longer?
Summoning Skeletons
Diablo 2
With “Raise Skeleton,” the Necro can summon a skeleton from an enemy corpse to fight by his side. Due to lag issues, the limit of skeletons was reduced to 8.
Diablo 3
“Command Skeletons” creates a group of up to 7 skeletons. However, these do not need to be summoned from corpses but are generated automatically at your side. With this ability, you can control what target the skeletons should attack. With a special rune, you can further enhance this ability.
Conclusion: The advantage lies here with the new Necromancer, who can only control 7 skeletons, but has control over them and does not need corpses for that.
Golem Companions
Diablo 2
In D2, there is the Clay Golem, Fire Golem, Iron Golem, and Blood Golem. The Iron Golem is made from an equipment item and takes on its attributes. Thus, you lose an item but gain a unique Golem companion.
Diablo 3
The new Necromancer has only one Blood Golem, which, however, has five different runes. You do not have to destroy an item for the new Golem, but choose through the runes which effects the companion should have.
Conclusion: If the Iron Golem mechanic from Diablo 2 had been included in the current game, we would have another cool mechanic. Possible balance issues or the developers’ reluctance to have items destroyed could be arguments against this mechanic. Too bad!
Skeleton Mages
Diablo 2
With “Raise Skeleton Mage,” you can raise a skeleton mage from the corpse of an opponent, which masters a random elemental attack. These skeletons remain your companions until they die. There is no time limit.
Diablo 3
Here, too, you can summon a skeleton mage, but you do not need a corpse for it. The mage lasts only 6 seconds, and you can summon a maximum of 10 of them at the same time.
Conclusion: While the skeleton mages in Diablo 3 are stronger with their runes, they last only a few seconds, and you have to keep pressing the summon button to have them as “pets.” Both variants have their pros and cons – we cannot determine a clear winner.
Revive
Diablo 2
In the original necromancer, a revived ally lasts up to 3 minutes, if it survives that long. Up to 25 revived allies can be active at the same time. Here you can specifically choose which creatures you want to revive, giving you strong influence over your army of the revived.
Diablo 3
The new Necromancer can lead a maximum of 10 revived pets, which remain active for up to 15 seconds (Here, too, the duration can be increased by items or runes). With the “Reaper’s Toll” rune, the servants turn back into corpses after the 15 seconds, which you can revive again. Thus, you can theoretically keep them with you permanently.
Conclusion: We prefer the revival from Diablo 2, as there you had more influence over the revived pets. In Diablo 3, random targets within a certain radius are revived.
Bone Armor
Diablo 2
The “Bone Armor” surrounds the old Necro and can absorb a portion of the physical damage he receives. It not only looks cool but is also effective.
Diablo 3
The new “Bone Armor” has essentially only taken the name from the old one. Visually, it is a real armor made of bones that buffs your damage reduction. Through the Inarius Set, you can get a version of Bone Armor that visually resembles the surrounding armor from D2.
Corpse Explosions
Diablo 2
In the original version, the Corpse Explosion is funny and enjoyable when used. The currently targeted corpse explodes.
Diablo 3
In Diablo 3, the fun is further expanded. However, all corpses in a target area explode.
Conclusion: Because of the many explosions occurring simultaneously, we find the Corpse Explosion in D3 more fun, and it is our winner. Unfortunately, the ability currently is not as strong as we would like it to be.
Bone Prison
Diablo 2
The Bone Prison in Diablo 2 can force enemies into an area from which they must fight their way out. This allows you to keep annoying enemies at bay.
Diablo 3
The new Necro unfortunately has this skill only modified as a passive ability, which has a 30% chance to hold an enemy for 3 seconds. Enemies do not have to fight their way out; they are simply held in place for a short time.
Conclusion: We like the ability from Diablo 2 much better because you had control over it, and the skill had a much stronger impact on the gameplay.
Iron Maiden – Can Diablo 3 Keep Up?
Diablo 2
Iron Maiden is not only a great band but also one of the most well-known curses of the D2 Necromancer. When an enemy is afflicted with this curse, all damage dealt by them is reflected back on themselves.
Diablo 3
The new Necromancer unfortunately does not have this cool curse. A “similar” effect is produced by the passive ability “Forbidden Creation,” in which servants deal a percentage of your thorns damage.
Conclusion: The clear winner here is the old Necromancer. Through Iron Maiden, you had more control over the reflected damage, which in D3 is now dependent on the companions.
Other Differences – New Skills for the Necro in D3
In a video, YouTuber Rhykker explains these and other differences between the Necromancer from Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. He also discusses new skills like the Army of the Dead or Bloody Paths.

The head of Destiny 2 talks about his raid children and the newest addition, the new raid in Destiny 2.
Luke Smith gave a bunch of interviews at E3, and new information is still coming to light from those. Before Smith became the Game Director of Destiny 2, he was the “Raid Lead Designer” and thus has a special relationship with all the raids in the game.
He says: All the raids are like his children, and each one has a specific motive, a heartbeat that the raid follows.
The heartbeat of the four raids from Destiny 1
In the first raid, The Glass Vault, it was about splitting players and then bringing them back together.
In the second raid, Crota’s End, it was all about individual players and their heroic moments: A player took the sword to save the world. All eyes were on him.
In the third raid, in King’s Fall, the theme was “Movement and Traversal”: It was about movement and proper positioning. The final battle against Oryx resembled a ballet. Players had to navigate this gigantic ship, complete jumping puzzles before facing the giant god-like opponent in the final battle.
The most recent raid, Wrath of the Machine, sought the answer to the question: “Where are the moments of glorious combat?” Players ran to safe zones, erected shields at the last moment before they would have all died. It was a “blockbuster action raid.” That was the heartbeat of the raid.
What about the new raid in Destiny 2?
And what about the latest raid that awaits us in Destiny 2? Smith says: “The idea of the raid is to build a space, a place that players believe could be real.”
When the interviewer probes further, Smith breaks into laughter; the interviewer describes it as a “man, I know a secret and it’s so good, but I can’t tell you” chuckle. Smith then concludes: “It is different from anything we have done before. The team is incredibly talented. It is a joy to work with them.”
Hmm, what do you think? Sounds like Vex, right? An illusion, a trick.
In the coming days, we can expect more information about Destiny 2; it is supposed to begin tonight:
The Chinese publisher Tencent is the owner of the League of Legends developer Riot Games and also earns well with the mobile game King of Glory. To protect minors from gaming addiction, Tencent has implemented strict protective measures for the mobile game. Are these measures also threatening League of Legends?
Tencent is a Chinese software giant that has held the majority of shares in Riot Games, the developers of League of Legends, since early 2011. By now, Riot Games fully belongs to the Chinese giant.
In China, the publisher is currently making a fortune with the mobile title King of Glory.
King of Glory has over 200 million registered players and about 80 million people play the mobile title daily at the same time – that is roughly the total population of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Thus, the game is a huge success for publisher Tencent, which generated revenues of over 883 million US dollars in the first quarter of 2017.
Among the players of King of Glory, there are also many children and teenagers who tend to overdo it. Therefore, there has been considerable trouble lately and new protective measures for children and teenagers are expected. Is this also threatening LoL?
Addicted and harmed children – Publisher is facing trouble
According to the Chinese news site Technode, about 20 percent of the players of King of Glory are under 18 and 19 percent are even under 12 years old. According to Hong Kong Free Press and Chinese state media, a 17-year-old suffered a stroke after 40 hours of continuous play of King of Glory in April.
A report from PCGamesN also mentions a 13-year-old who broke his legs after jumping out of a third-floor window. The reason: His parents had forbidden him from playing the game.
Moreover, gaming addiction, according to Hong Kong Free Press, is a problem in China: About 24 million people are addicted to online games. Parents are already putting their children into anti-gaming addiction boot camps.
All of this led to a critical newspaper article in China’s largest newspaper People’s Daily, which is also the official newspaper of the ruling party.
It accused Tencent and King of Glory of harming the Chinese people, as they are increasingly falling prey to gaming addiction. According to Technode, the article caused Tencent’s stock prices to drop by 4.44 percent to “only” 34 US dollars on Tuesday.
Tencent wants to establish the strictest anti-addiction policies in the world – also for LoL?
As stock prices indicate, large firms do not enjoy negative publicity, and Tencent has already spoken out to counter this bad press. Starting next Tuesday, extensive anti-addiction measures for King of Glory are to be implemented:
Players under 12 years old may only play for one hour per day
Players aged between 12 and 18 may only play for two hours per day
Those under 12 years old may also not log in after 9 PM and maximum real-money spending is strictly limited
So far, these measures have only been announced for King of Glory. However, if successful, they may also be applied to other Tencent games and even LoL players in the Middle Kingdom may face a limit on playtime.
What do you think of these strict protective measures against excessive gaming? Appropriate or mean harassment? Let us know in the comments!
Paladins (PC, PS4, Xbox One) “Offensive” mode is a fast-paced fun experience where you collect tickets for killing opponents. Perfect for a casual round or for warming up!
In the Paladins “Offensive” mode, it’s all about casual fun. Here you can really let loose and try out new decks or champions to collect as many kills as possible. For killing enemies, you collect tickets that you need to win.
Here you can watch a tutorial on “Onslaught/Offensive” by Studio Hi-Rez (in English).

In the Offensive mode, you earn tickets for killing your opponents and for standing on the objective point. The player who earns the most tickets the fastest wins the match. Currently, Onslaught can be played on two maps, Old Forge and Snowfall Crossing.
Here are the rules listed:
You compete in teams of 5vs5.
At the start, each player receives 400 credits to buy items. After that, each player earns 5 credits per second during the match.
To win, players must collect tickets: Killing opponents gives 5 tickets. The team controlling the objective point in the middle of the map receives 2 tickets per second. The objective is considered controlled as long as at least one player and no enemies are standing on the point.
The team that collects 400 tickets first wins. If neither team collects 400 tickets after 10 minutes, the team with the most tickets wins.
Leya says: Offensive is a fun, fast-paced pastime. When I lose rounds, it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s really enjoyable to just dive into the fray and watch the tickets grow. Nowadays, I also like to use Offensive to warm up for the “normal” modes.
I frequently test champions I am not so familiar with or try out new builds. Of course, you can do this in the “Training Mode,” but it is more fun in Offensive, as you compete in a team against other “real” players.
For me, this mode is a great addition to Paladins for some casual fun.
What do you think of the Offensive mode and its ticket system?
World quests, Suramar, a class campaign, the Broken Isles and much more await returners in World of Warcraft: Legion. It can be overwhelming, and you might not know where to start. We are here to help.
With this expansion, you really can’t complain about long content breaks. Some may even find it a bit too fast. And then there are those who might just be starting the addon or have taken a long break. What should you do first when returning to WoW?
The Level Phase
If you haven’t played Legion at all, you’ll be greeted by the adventurer guide and receive the corresponding starting quest. In this quest, you travel to the Broken Isles, unlock the Class Hall, and receive your first task for your Artifact weapon. Which weapon you choose is not crucial, as you will unlock all of them during the leveling phase.
Additionally, from the Class Hall, you can choose which of the four quest areas you want to enter. Since the enemies scale with your level, the order is up to you. Each location, each zone tells its own story, which always ends with a visit to the respective instance.
As long as you pursue a profession, you will receive tasks regularly in Dalaran. These are easy to complete and unlock new recipes for you. Later, these will lead you into instances and raids.
It is advisable to complete as many quests as possible and explore the map, because some tasks are a bit hidden. On one hand, you need the experience points, and on the other hand, you also need the reputation, which you will need for a later quest.
Level 110 and what now?
At the maximum level of 110, you will receive some additional tasks in Dalaran and the Class Hall. Depending on your progress, some of the following tasks may not yet be unlocked, but sooner or later they will all appear in your quest log:
Uniting Islands: This unlocks world quests, which represent the new daily quests. Additionally, you receive the Flight Master’s whistle, which teleports you to a flight point nearby. You need to have friendly reputation with all factions of the four leveling areas for this.
Khadgar’s Discovery: This opens Suramar for you. With this area come a new faction, numerous quest chains, more world quests, and two instances.
The Heart of Light: Assuming a corresponding progress in the class campaign, you will begin another quest chain. This is relevant for the story, but not for unlocking additional content.
Forced to Trade: This can unlock even more world quests and the now outdated raid instance “Trial of Valor”.
Edict of the God King: This quest starts the unlocking of the Karazhan instances.
The Legion Judges: This quest line grants you access to the current content: the Broken Isles. You must first complete the Uniting Islands.
The Deaths of Chromie: A scenario for solo players to break up the WoW routine.
Heat Things Up: This quest can be completed on-site. It unlocks the Obliterum Forge, which upgrades crafted gear to item level 900. This cap increases with patches.
In addition, there may also be tasks for your professions. The Class Hall is the starting point for two more quest lines: the Class Campaign and the “Heart of Light” chain, which begins in Dalaran but continues in your refuge. This inevitably raises the question: What should I start with?
The Broken Isles
The Uniting Islands takes priority. Without this, you cannot go to the Broken Isles. And of course, you will unlock the world quests, which offer numerous different tasks and a first opportunity to farm gear. We have elaborated more on these missions in a separate guide.
Upon arriving in the Broken Isles, you will receive some additional missions. This slightly longer quest line is not mandatory, but it unlocks an exclusive mount for your class. We have already introduced all of these class mounts.
It is advisable to complete the quest line a bit away from the camp, which starts with “Spinnen, was?”. The day after submission, a new task will be given. Until you have unlocked the special vendor for Wyrmwood chests at the end. These chests contain many useful items. Although the key from the vendor costs many nether shards, every few days you receive a generous discount through a world quest.
A Higher Item Level
Now you are on the island, and you are eager for new gear. Start with the world quests, as this allows you to easily earn the first item levels. The gear you receive can be higher than what the quest reward indicates. For instance, an item of 850 might turn out to be 860 upon receipt. This is how random item upgrades work in Legion.
Artifact Power and Artifact Knowledge
With quests and world quests, you will repeatedly receive items with Artifact Power. Use these items as soon as you have them in your inventory and you are wielding the correct Artifact weapon. This will increase their level and unlock additional abilities for them.
In the Class Hall, you will also receive Artifact Knowledge, which applies across all weapons. It exponentially increases the value of Artifact Power that the items grant you. However, this only applies to new items, not to those in your inventory.
At the beginning, it is therefore not worth it for you to do world quests that grant Artifact Power. Rather, collect gear and Class resources and increase your Artifact Knowledge. You can research up to level 25, after which you can farm Artifact Power.
The Artifact Weapon
At some point, you will have gathered enough power with the weapon to have skilled all abilities. This unlocks a new quest in Dalaran: “Search for Lost Knowledge“. This upgrades your weapon and gives you new unlockable abilities. Furthermore, the Artifact Knowledge can be further increased.
Even now, it is advisable to refrain from farming more Artifact Power. Rather, research a bit longer until you reach Knowledge Level 40. This can be done within a few days, as the research time was drastically reduced in the last patch (4 hours per level). After that, you can happily farm Artifact Power again.
Simultaneously complete the Class Campaign, as this will unlock a third slot for an Artifact Relic. These increase the item level of the weapon and count as the greatest power gain for your character.
Legendary Items
However, not only the artifacts grant a power gain, but also legendary items. These provide high attributes along with an additional property that can change or optimize your gameplay style. You can only carry a limited number of such items at the same time; initially, it’s two, later it will be three. And so these items do not gather dust in the bank after a few months, their item level can be increased. Here you can find out how upgrading legendary items to 970 in patch 7.2.5 works.
And how do you obtain these items? You cannot explicitly farm them; you obtain them randomly. From loot boxes, instances, raid and world bosses, and through nether shards.
Other Equipment Sources
While doing world quests, you may have already encountered nether shards. With 5000 of these, you can obtain gear with item level 880 or higher from a vendor at the Broken Isles camp. We have explained how to farm these shards in this guide.
In Dalaran, there is also a weekly quest line near the entrance to the Violet Hold. The task is related to the bonus event, which can be seen in the calendar. The dungeon event, for example, gives you the weekly task to complete several instances at mythic difficulty. The reward is a chest with high-quality gear.
Of course, there are still the said instances and raids to farm for gear. For the 5-man variant, there is the Mythic+ difficulty; the higher the number, the better the reward and more dangerous the instance. Certain levels grant the instances affixes that add variety and even more danger. Therefore, mythic instances can only be entered with a fixed group, not randomly.
Learning by Doing
Who doesn’t know the problem? You want to do a specific instance to get more gear. If you are looking for a group in the dungeon browser or trade chat, you will find that the required item level is higher than what you possess. But not only that, it’s also higher than what you would receive from the instance.
And that’s not the only problem. Rush and flames go hand in hand; the DPS does too little damage because they are busy only running behind. The healer is allegedly incompetent because they didn’t keep the players standing in the fire alive. And the tank is usually always to blame for everything.
Certainly, not every group is like this, but likely everyone has experienced something similar. And particularly beginners or returners without experience find it particularly difficult to find a group.
To remedy this, the “[L]earning by Doing” group was formed. This group offers both mythic instances and successful heroic raids, all without flames, rush, and is suitable for beginners. The community is divided along faction lines – separated by Horde and Alliance – on Discord.
Back in Dalaran, there are still plenty of tasks to unlock new things. The order is up to you, as they are far less relevant. Suramar is a huge quest area and unlocks two additional instances. For those interested in the story, this area is a clear recommendation.

According to the developers at Targem Games, over 3 million players are playing the game in the Open Beta. They announced this via Twitter. However, at least 922 players are not left with much, as their accounts have been banned.
As the developers announced at the start of the Open Beta, there will be no tolerance for cheating, and banned accounts were found to contain clearly unauthorized cheat tools after careful examination by the developers.
Crossout also received a new update called Patch 0.7.10. One of the highlights of this update is new cosmetic build kits that allow you to visually enhance your weapons. However, the weapons will no longer be tradable afterwards, so think carefully about what you modify and what you still want to sell. Additionally, there were other adjustments made with update 0.7.10:
The missions of the season in “Medium” and “Hard” are now tied to the weapon of the faction shown on the cover
You have more time to pick up the cargo in cargo race mode
Some map errors have been fixed
Your drivers are now called “Co-Drivers”
The interface for vehicle construction has been improved
Players are no longer in the chat by default but can join chat channels and make settings in chat settings
Crafting is nearly integral to every MMORPG, but often it devolves into tedious grinding and RNG chaos. However, a few systems stand out that are still fun. We want to know in a survey which crafting system you like best.
Hardly any aspect of online role-playing games is hated more than crafting, as it often doesn’t yield much and is simply boring for many players. At the same time, there are players who would rather gather resources and craft them into items in MMORPGs.
And then there are games where crafting is actually fun and provides substantial rewards. In our survey, we are choosing the MMO with the best crafting.
Crafting in MMOs – Hero and Part-Time Craftsman
The classic crafting in theme park MMOs like World of Warcraft lets you choose professions where you can then create more or less useful things. Usually, there are typical armor and weapon makers, as well as support professions like alchemists who create useful potions. Especially such support jobs are often the most useful professions.
Normally, your hero has to stand at the anvil or alchemy table and craft the items themselves. In some games, like Star Wars: The Old Republic, your companions do the dirty work. After all, it’s a bit silly if a great Sith Lord or a Jedi Master is piecing together some armors.
Crafting in MMOs – Player Crafting as an Economic Foundation
Unlike theme parks, crafting in many sandbox MMOs is an essential part of the game economy. For example, in ArcheAge or Black Desert Online, where many items are produced by players and thus come into circulation.
This player-driven economy works particularly well in the super-sandbox EVE Online. In it, everything you buy in the game has been built by other players. Especially the big ships and space stations often require huge amounts of resources, which large guilds toil over for weeks.
Mein-MMO is Looking for the Best Crafting!
So what is the best crafting? Which game has the perfect crafting? We have created a list of MMOs for you that all have interesting crafting systems. Vote and crown the game with the best crafting system. We will present the results later in a dedicated article. Have fun voting! Feel free to share your reasoning in the comments.
If you want to trigger the secret Mount Chiliad mission yourself, you first need to invest a lot of time in GTA 5 Online – After that, you will meet the aliens.
A few days ago, the team “The Gurus” presented a new discovery regarding the Mount Chiliad mystery. By modifying the GTA 5 Online data, the team was able to activate a rare alien mission and encountered the aliens for the first time.
Now they explain how you can trigger the mission yourself and make acquaintance with the aliens. However, this will take many hours.
600 Gunrunning sales for the alien mission in GTA 5 Online
It was a great discovery for many players in the GTA 5 community when the Chiliad Mystery Gurus made contact with the aliens a few days ago. The new Gunrunning update introduced changes in the code that made this encounter possible.
However, the Guru team explained that they first had to modify files from the online mode for this encounter with the aliens. This is not allowed in GTA 5 and can have serious consequences. A downer for the players from the community who want to meet the aliens themselves.
But now there is hope for contact with aliens again. The Gurus have published a guide on Reddit on how to make “legal” contact with the aliens. However, this requires a lot of patience. The new findings from the data miners show the requirements for the alien mission in GTA 5 Online:
First, you must achieve at least 600 completed Gunrunning sales – To be on the “safe side”, 601 is recommended (The “Total Sales” counter must reach at least 600 (or 601)).
Then, you need to steal supplies for your bunker between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM in-game time
This will trigger the alien mission where you will shoot at the aliens and steal their eggs
It will cost you many hours in GTA 5 Online to reach these 601 completed Gunrunning sales. Under ideal conditions, you can make a sale every 5 minutes. This 5 minutes multiplied by 600 results in 50 hours that you will have to invest at a minimum.
Additionally, the alien mission can only be triggered once. Once you have played it, it cannot be activated again.
Rockstar ensures with these requirements that this mission remains something very special in GTA 5 Online. But aren’t the requirements a bit too harsh? For most players, this mission will likely suddenly become uninteresting because they do not want to invest so much grind. However, grinding missions in GTA 5 Online are nothing new, as you earn your money as a CEO or biker president.
How do you feel about this? Are you willing to endure so much grind just to see the aliens?
In Destiny the monthly event Iron Banner is live in July 2017. This will be the penultimate time it takes place. Here’s all the info on armor, weapons, quests, and the mode.
Last night the July Iron Banner started in Destiny.
The Iron Banner event will last until July 11 at 11 AM. Then the Iron Banner ends.
The game mode is Mayhem Clash.
This means: Supers are constantly flying around. Grenades and melee attacks are also significantly more frequent than usual.
The special thing about this Iron Banner is: It is the penultimate Iron Banner in the history of Destiny 1 and the last to achieve the milestone in the Age’s seal book .
The last Iron Banner in Destiny will take place in August and that will be after the deadline, August 1. What happens afterwards, “doesn’t count anymore” for the seal book.
Weapons, Armors and Quests – Is it worth it?
The Weapons
For the weapons, there’s the rocket launcher “The Titanium Orchid” with solar damage. It has the following traits
“Grenades and Horseshoes”
Fast Reload
Heavy Payload
Hard Shots
At least those are the perks recommended by YouTuber Nexxoss Gaming. He thinks it’s a decent rocket launcher for PvP.
The other weapon is the pistol “The Blinding Brand.” It deals void damage.
It has the following traits
Zen Moment
Adaptive Frame
High Caliber Rounds
Nexxoss’ assessment is: He’s not personally convinced by the weapon, but pistol specialists could get a decent gun out of it.

Some players also complain about a loot bug in the July Iron Banner in Destiny. They say: They did not receive any rewards after the match, the whole group didn’t. It seems to be a display error. The loot will probably be supplied later.
Is the July Iron Banner in Destiny worth it?
Mein MMO says: It’s currently a strange time in Destiny. In the past, “T12” was the maximum of all stats, the noble high-end goal. Now Bungie throws items at players. The path to light level 400 has been trivial for a long time. Clearly, there’s not much going on in Destiny right now.
Therefore you should ask yourself: Are you up for a crazy round of Mayhem-Destiny or not?
In two weeks the beta of Destiny 2 starts. Maybe you should use this time to work on your “How do I press the Oh-Shit button fastest?”-skills. And for that, Mayhem Clash is just right.
The multiplayer mode of Mass Effect: Andromeda will be significantly harder. A new difficulty level is set to heat things up for players.
Although the sad news broke a few days ago that Mass Effect: Andromeda will not receive story DLCs, a small team is still working on the RPG from BioWare. Aside from bug fixes and minor changes aimed primarily at comfort, a team is continuously tinkering with the multiplayer mode of the game.
A very short teaser now reveals two things that will soon be coming to ME:A. On one hand, there will be at least one new character – the Batarian. What abilities he will have is still uncertain. Batarians are known for their brutal nature, however.

Furthermore, the multiplayer mode will get a completely new difficulty level! Thus, Gold is no longer the peak, but “Platinum”. This promises tougher challenges for all those who just can’t get enough of the RPG’s multiplayer.
Platinum was already brutal in Mass Effect 3
The “Platinum” difficulty level also existed in Mass Effect 3. Here it was also introduced retroactively and caused quite a chaos. The enemies were harder, more numerous – and especially mixed. Normally, you only fight against one species, but on Platinum, Reapers, Collectors, and Cerberus teamed up to blow out the digital life light of the players. It was a challenge for the best of the best, who were, however, rewarded with plenty of credits.
Whether the mode can also convince in Andromeda remains to be seen in a few days or weeks – as no release date is known yet.
The raid guild Method is now facing the last boss of the current raid in WoW. And they often shout together on voice chat.
In World of Warcraft, the race for the coveted World First Kills is currently underway again. Those who consider themselves serious raiders do not settle for the trivialities of the normal or heroic Tomb of Sargeras but aim for higher goals. However, the mythic variant of the raid is not for casual players, as those who want to defeat the hardest bosses need a lot of perseverance.
It is even worse when the pressure to perform is felt by the pioneers who have to devise the strategies at the front, as no one has defeated the respective boss before them.
Method takes the lead in Tomb of Sargeras
The professional raiders of the guild Method have had a particularly hard time, dying over and over again to the Fallen Avatar in the last few days, as Sargeras’s shell simply would not budge. After an incredible 453 attempts, they finally managed to put the penultimate boss of the tomb down.
All that tension and concentration is released during the kill in the typical “nerd screams” that everyone knows from TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, or Discord when they’ve had a serious raid.

Method always publishes this moment of relief in a short clip. Whether Germany has just become world champion in football, extraterrestrial life has been discovered, or a six in the lottery was achieved, can hardly be recognized from the sounds – pure joy indeed.
This puts Method currently at the top of the race for the World First Kill of Kil’jaeden at mythic difficulty. More than 20 other guilds are still stuck on the Fallen Avatar but will surely catch up in the next hours and days.
The developers of OpenIV are resuming their work. However, the planned Liberty City map project in GTA 5 remains on hold.
After the work on the OpenIV software was initially prohibited by a cease and desist order because the software violates the current modification rules, the team is now allowed to continue with the mod. Talks with Rockstar Games apparently went successfully for the modders.
However, they are not allowed to proceed with their large Liberty City project.
Liberty City was a major motivation for the modders
In recent weeks, Rockstar Games has sparked many discussions within the GTA community with their ban on OpenIV. After a petition with over 75,000 participants and talks with Rockstar Games, the mod developers are now allowed to resume their work. However, not in the way many fans would wish.
There are problems with the Liberty City project, which aims to integrate the entire map of GTA IV into GTA V. The OpenIV team provided an update on the situation in the GTA forums:
Community:
First, we want to thank the community that has supported us in this difficult situation. We are very grateful for your support and the demonstration that the modding community, although small, is “loud”, creative, and determined. You made the impossible possible and have already made this story a part of the history of PC gaming and the internet itself. This is your victory! Congratulations and thank you once again!
OpenIV and Modding:
The development of OpenIV will continue as usual. OpenIV has not supported GTA Online in the past and will not do so in the future. Our work will continue within the rules of Rockstar Games.
Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto V:
Unfortunately, our “Liberty City in GTA V” mod, which is eagerly awaited by many fans, will not be released. It clearly violates the modding rules. The Liberty City mod is a significant loss for us, as it played an important role in the team and was vital for the motivation of the developers.
If you are wondering what comes next… well, we are currently revising our plans for the future.
The Liberty City project apparently violates the part of the Rockstar policy that states that modders “may not use or import any other IP into GTA 5, even if it involves Rockstar IP”. To read the rules: The Rockstar Modding Policy on Support.Rockstargames.com
Disappointment for the fans
The Liberty City project for GTA V has already received a lot of positive feedback within the community. The various landmarks such as the Joy Statue or the Brooker Bridge are still well remembered by many GTA fans, just like Cousin Roman, who could never get enough of bowling.
First screenshots of the mod and a teaser video of the Liberty City map show how grand this project would have been. It’s a shame that the work on it must be stopped. Perhaps Rockstar will negotiate and take some responsibility for this piece of GTA IV that could have been experienced in GTA V.
Doomfist seems to now be confirmed as a new Overwatch character. At least Blizzard is teasing it like crazy.
Fans have been waiting for many months, but now Blizzard has finally delivered the crucial hint that points to the impending release of the new hero Doomfist.
Blizzard has published a “news” in the Overwatch universe reporting how Reaper broke into the high-security prison of Helix Security International. His aircraft simply entered the airspace over the prison without triggering any alarms. It is suspected that there was a mole at Helix. That sounds suspiciously like Sombra, doesn’t it? Inside the prison, Reaper overpowered numerous guards and helped several prisoners escape. Among them was “Akande Ogundimu” – better known as Doomfist!
A few weeks later, he overwhelmed the OR15 units at the airport in Numbani and grabbed what belongs to him – the gauntlet we know as Doomfist.
Doomfist is one of many villains
What’s particularly cool about this news is that Reaper (or Talon) likely freed several other prisoners as well. This opens up many possibilities for the developers to add a few more “evil” characters. Because so far, the playable characters consist mostly of “good” heroes and only a very small number of villains.
There is no exact release date for Doomfist yet, but since the patch is supposed to include the “Summer Games”, it should only be a few weeks until there is a new addition in Overwatch.
Update: That went pretty quickly. Doomfist is now on the PTR. This is what he looks like and these are his skills:
A popular character from World of Warcraft reappears in the game data. But now Yrel goes by a different name!
Patch 7.3 of World of Warcraft is currently on the PTR, although still incomplete. But data miners are uncovering more and more details, and one character particularly caught the eye of the colleagues at wowhead.
In Argus, players encounter the Draenei Yrelka, who is a commander in the Army of the Light. The name does sound quite suspiciously similar to Yrel from Warlords of Draenor!
Left Yrelka from Patch 7.3, right Yrel from WoD. Image source: wowhead
Visually, there are also many parallels between Yrelka and Yrel. Both wear similar armor as paladins, have the same shape of horns that are only used by very few Draenei, and the same sounds.
Since Yrel came from the “alternate universe” of Warlords of Draenor, it is possible that Yrelka is simply the Yrel from “our” universe.
Some players suspect that Yrelka might be the daughter of Yrel from our timeline. Since Yrel was still very young in WoD, that would mean that the Yrel from “our” universe has fought in the Army of the Light for a long time. This would also fit, as Turalyon and Alleria say that the fight of the Army of the Light has been going on for thousands of years.
Who was Yrel again?
Yrel was one of the most popular characters in the Warlords of Draenor expansion. The Draenei started out as a slave in a mine, then became a healer in the Temple of Karabor, and later took up arms to defend herself against the orcs of the Iron Horde. In numerous quest lines, Alliance players experienced her rise from the rank of paladin until she ultimately became an Exarch, holding a high leadership position.

In the closing cinematic of WoD, Yrel then breaks with her character, suddenly gets along very well with the orcs (who had previously killed thousands of her brothers and sisters), and promised Khadgar that she would “be there when needed”.
Is perhaps this time now? Or is this just a little Easter egg or a hint to reconnect the storylines? What do you think about this?
In Pokémon GO there is currently a severe bug that marks your Pokémon as defenders and renders them useless.
The new arena system in Pokémon GO is not running smoothly yet. Many trainers noticed this in recent weeks when they tried to battle in arenas or participate in raids. Last week, developer Niantic released an update that was supposed to fix many bugs. However, the update has not completely resolved the issues yet.
Currently, there is a bug in Pokémon GO that marks Pokémon as defenders while simultaneously making them useless in the game.
Bug – Error when assigning arena Pokémon
If you want to assign one of your monsters to an arena in Pokémon GO, there can sometimes be an error. This means that either the monster is not assigned to the arena at all, or it receives a “broken” defender bonus. Reddit user LimboMon reports this error:
This severe bug can occur when you want to assign Pokémon to an arena. The monster is then marked as a defender but is not placed in the arena. This makes it unusable for the future since you cannot assign it to another arena in this status. And it does not earn you any coins either. Your Pokémon are classified as defenders, even though they are still with you.
And here’s how you notice the bug:
When you assign a monster to an arena, there’s an “error” and the monster is not added or is not visible when you check the arena again.
Nevertheless, the Pokémon receives the “defender” status
While the Pikachu icon appears on the arena overview, when you click on the arena, you won’t find any monster there. How this looks is shown in the following screenshot from LimboMon:
Since your Pokémon is not “really” in the arena, it cannot be defeated by an attacker and sent home.
The spot in the arena where your monster should sit can be occupied by other Pokémon or trainers. You can continue to battle in the arena, add other defenders, and receive coins from them. However, the bugged Pokémon will remain in its state indefinitely and is initially unusable.
This bug is still considered “rare”, but it can apparently affect any trainer who wants to assign their Pokémon to arenas.
Niantic has already been informed
In the mentioned Reddit thread, support staff member NianticGeorge stated that he had already seen a handful of reports of this bug. However, the team has not yet been able to determine that the bug persists for long. Nevertheless, the exact depiction by thread creator LimboMon shows that the problem is serious.
The Niantic team has been informed by George so they can work on a solution for this bug.
Have you experienced this arena bug yourself and perhaps even have a solution for it?
The Elder Scrolls Online will have some cool new offers for the Crown Store in July. This includes a new personality, a cat mount, and cool costumes.

In July, there are again a few particularly cool offers in the shop that we would like to introduce to you here.

What do you think of the new offers in the shop? For my part, I will probably have to buy almost all of them since I need cool clothes and especially the mount and the personality for my Khajiit.
In ARK Survival Evolved, the PC recently received the free DLC expansion Ragnarok. The release for PS4 and Xbox One has been postponed again. First, a crash on the Xbox One had to be fixed. Additionally, the new PC patch v261 for ARK is on the way.
The new expansion Ragnarok is available for download for PC players of Ark Survival Evolved. Ragnarok is a free DLC mod that was financially supported by the Scholarship Program from Studio Wildcard. Survivors battle on the Ragnarok map with particularly challenging weather conditions and encounter new creatures like the Griffin.
Players on the PS4 and Xbox One were originally supposed to receive the expansion on July 4th. However, that didn’t happen, and the consoles will have to wait.

Ragnarok is Coming Later to PS4 & Xbox One – New ETA July 19
During the installation of the last console patches, there was a major memory crash on the Xbox One. Studio Wildcard aimed to improve the visual quality of the creatures. The required adjustment, however, caused too little memory space on the console. When dinosaurs appeared in large groups, the Xbox One crashed and returned to the dashboard.
Due to the crashes on the Xbox One, Wildcard has not yet brought the patch to the PlayStation 4. The issue with the memory crash had to be fixed on the Xbox first. Otherwise, Wildcard would have merely copied the memory crash to the PS4.
These problems needed to be resolved before Ragnarok can be released for consoles.
Hotfix for Xbox Crash Arrives Today – New ETA for PS4 Patch is July 12
Community Manager Jen announced today four patches:
A hotfix for the Xbox One crash – Today, July 4
A PC update, patch v261 – Today or tomorrow, July 4 or 5
A PS4 update – Scheduled for July 12
Ragnarok for PS4 and Xbox One – Scheduled for July 19

Final Fantasy XIV starts with Patch 4.01 to the endgame. Among other things, the normal version of the raid Omega: Deltametrie is coming. Crafters are also getting new features.
The expansion Stormblood for Final Fantasy 14 is here, and until now, the endgame content was missing. Players should not feel too rushed and can level through the story at their own pace. However, almost three weeks after launch, the developers have had a change of heart and with Patch 4.01 are providing the first round of endgame progression.
Final Fantasy XIV – Finally new raid content
The highlight of Patch 4.01 is the new raid dungeon “Omega: Deltametrie”, which is now available in its normal version.
To participate, you need to be level 70 and gather seven other players with the right classes and roles. Additionally, you must complete the new mission “Omega’s Invitation” beforehand.
Besides the new content for raid enthusiasts, there is also a lot for crafters to do. Yellow collector and crafter certificates are available. These certificates can be obtained from level 70, and you can hold a maximum of 2,000 per character. In Rhalgar’s Watch, you can exchange them for useful items. Additionally, as a crafter, you will now earn more Gil for delivered collectibles in Stormblood.
There are also a few additional useful enhancements. Among other things, the following content is coming with Patch 4.01:
A new mount in the form of a small mech for Stormblood
Adjusted equipment parameters in Stormblood
New raid achievements
Chat font size can now be adjusted
Some skills have been revised
PvP routine is now dependent on victory or defeat.
The strength of some monsters in Stormblood has been adjusted
Numerous bugs, such as unfinishable quests and erroneous texts, have been fixed
