In Black Desert Online the new heroine Mystic is coming soon. Those who are wondering what the sexy fighter can do can check it out in the latest gameplay trailer. There, the Mystic fights and kicks through numerous enemies.
Black Desert Online will soon receive a new class. The Mystic is here the female counterpart to the Kung-Fu brawler “Striker”. However, as with (almost) all classes in Black Desert Online, the Mystic is not a 1:1 clone of the Striker. Rather, she has her own style.
Black Desert Online – The Mystic in Action Trailer
In a new trailer, you see the Mystic in full action. The combative lady fights especially with her long legs and hits so hard that it’s a pleasure to watch. In the video, no opponent stands a chance against her. She beat both hordes of enemies and hefty single monsters with ease.

Especially cool: She seems to have a super move that creates a kind of energy ball, causing even more devastation. Unfortunately, it is still unknown when the Mystic will come to the West. For now, she will only be wreaking havoc in Korea.
The slightly crazy explosion fanatic from Overwatch, Junkrat, is getting some buffs. We reveal what is changing.
When it comes to the balance of the various heroes of Overwatch, there is always plenty of room for discussion. Which hero is currently too strong? Which is too weak? The opinions of the developers and various player groups often differ widely – but when they do agree, targeted buffs or nerfs typically follow.
It seems that Junkrat is now the target of balance adjustments. In the official forum, Overwatch’s Principal Designer, Geoff Goodman, has stated that they are already experimenting with changes to Junkrat internally. These should be playable on the PTR in the near future.
Junkrat – Double Mine for Double Fun!
Is Blizzard behind this again?
Basically, there are two adjustments:
The Remote Mine will receive a second charge.
The Ultimate Tire will either move faster or have more health points.
Especially the second charge of the mine offers many new possibilities. Junkrat can use one mine to blow himself into the fray and a second to escape right away. He can even implement funny ideas and perform a double or even triple jump while in the air by using multiple mines. He can also become the insane “Pharah Hunter.” With the first mine, he propels himself into the air, and the second he throws at the flying Pharah.
At least internally, Blizzard is already having a lot of fun with these adjustments.
So far, these are just ideas, and whether they will be implemented exactly like this will probably only show during the next PTR cycle.
What do you think of the planned changes? Just right or does Junkrat not need any assistance at all?
Dark and Light is here! The promising online role-playing game, reminiscent of Conan Exiles and ARK. We played the early access version.
Survival is currently in vogue, and it seems like a lot of development studios want a piece of this pie. So do the developers of Dark and Light.
A little history lesson: Dark and Light was first released in 2006, representing a fairly classic MMORPG at the time, and was not well received by fans. The servers were taken offline in 2008. Snail Games purchased the license and developed a new online game using the well-known name. The classic MMO gameplay has been replaced by a survival game concept and is strongly reminiscent of ARK Survival Evolved and Conan Exiles.
Technically Unrefined
At the start of early access, there was a lot of criticism – and rightly so. The first version of the MMORPG was technically unrefined.
This was noticeable right from the character creation. Graphics glitches resulted in extremely long arms, the colors were off, and some textures were missing. Nevertheless, I managed to create a human who materialized in a city. In front of him stood a merchant without a lower body.
Flickering textures and vegetation that constantly disappeared and suddenly reappeared did not contribute to a good first impression. The technology has since been improved somewhat, but it still isn’t top-notch.
The performance was, to put it mildly, subpar. Even with medium settings, the fps count didn’t go above 30, and that on a PC with 32 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. The loading times, until the game finally starts, were – and still are – extremely long. Some players reported about 20 minutes in the Steam forum. It wasn’t quite that long for me, thanks to an M.2 SSD, but still long enough for me to grab a coffee.
I started on one of the public servers, which strangely only consisted of PvP servers at the beginning. PvE worlds were added later. Despite a decent ping of under 100, I struggled with drops, lag, and was constantly killed, even though I couldn’t even tell by whom or what. So I amusingly switched to single-player mode. Here there were no lags, but the performance was still not impressive.

Resource Gathering, Crafting, Combat – We Already Know This
So I followed the tutorial, which turned out to be not so easy. The friendly tutorial lady recited her lines in a confusing order. For example, she introduced herself only after the fifth quest and acted as if we were seeing each other for the first time.
The tutorial descriptions didn’t really help in figuring out what to do, as they contained cryptic placeholder texts. Nevertheless, I managed to gather the first raw materials with my bare hands, making the bushes flow wildly. Thus, I harvested berries, wood, fiber, and stones.
I then crafted my first axe to gather resources more effectively and defend against monster attacks. All of this strongly resembles ARK or Conan Exiles.
Whenever you complete a tutorial, a new recipe becomes available, promising new items or spells. Afterwards, you go out to gather these raw materials and craft the item. In between, you eat berries or apples to combat hunger and thirst.
Anyone can cast spells in Dark and Light. You craft a staff which you can then imbue with a spell. For example, to gather resources faster or to hurl fireballs. This consumes spell energy, which you replenish by eating flower petals. While I initially only wandered around in tattered pants and a light shirt, I was later able to craft a leather armor. By the way, resources or items that you no longer need can be sold in town.
An Aesthetically Pleasing Group Game
Dark and Light is played from a third-person perspective, and there is no option to switch to first-person view. The game visually presents itself as mixed. Many areas, like forests or cities, look impressive from afar. But up close, flickering vegetation and unimpressive lighting effects stand out. Even during sunrise or sunset, there is no truly impressive atmosphere.
The further you venture inland, the more dangerous it becomes. On the one hand, there are dark creatures lurking everywhere that will knock you out with one hit at the beginning. You should level up well first, learn many skills such as melee combat or defense, and particularly pay attention to good equipment. On the other hand, it is dangerous in the wilderness if you are on a PvP server. Because other players will attack you unexpectedly if you are not in the protection of a city and NPC guards cannot come to your aid.
A level-up grants you free points to allocate to attributes. Skills increase automatically through use. But there are still issues here as you never know how a skill increases. Because there are still placeholder texts present – just like with the description of items.
Interestingly, taming monsters is possible. With the right spell, you can acquire pets and mounts. You can even tame dragons, although I haven’t managed to do that yet. Exploring the vast world is certainly fun with the right people, and being in a group significantly increases your chances of survival. However, the number of players per server is limited to 100, which is why you don’t run into other players that often.
Andreas says:
Dark and Light has a long road ahead. Technically, it is far from polished. In terms of gameplay, fans of ARK or Conan Exiles get familiar fare. There has been a lot of criticism about Dark and Light, yet the player numbers on Steamcharts show that the RPG is apparently quite well received. My impression is that it is certainly suitable as a survival game. It is fun, and those who do not expect something drastically different from ARK or Conan Exiles can have a good time in the fantasy world.
With early access games, it’s hard to predict where the journey will go and how the game will develop. Perhaps Dark and Light will soon make it onto our list:
The sandbox MMO Citadel: Forged with Fire strongly resembles Harry Potter with its magic focus and flying brooms. Those who want to take a closer look at the new MMO after the open beta can now play it in early access.
Citadel: Forged with Fire – Paid early access instead of free beta
You can no longer play Citadel: Forged with Fire as a free beta. Instead, the early access version is only available for money.
It costs $24.99 on Steam, the euro price should be similarly high. Citadel: Forged with Fire will remain in early access for about a year. The full release should therefore take place in summer 2018.
In Citadel: Forged with Fire, you play as a young wizard who, as an apprentice wizard, is still exploring the vast world. There, you will become stronger and can later tame fantastic creatures like dragons, subjugate orcs, and hurl entire fortresses through the air with your magic.

The Harbingers of Doom in WoW return – do they herald the next expansion? Or are they just praising Sargeras and the Legion?
Almost a year ago, the Harbingers of Doom in World of Warcraft began to predict the end of the world. So far, Azeroth has held up quite well and repelled most of the Legion’s attacks, even if there were heavy losses.
But with WoW Patch 7.3, the Harbingers of Doom return as “Confirmed Harbingers of Doom” – after all, they were right. On the PTR, these Harbingers are active again in Dalaran, along with a lot of “concerned citizens” and panicked fleeing civilians.
The reason for this seems obvious – Argus, the seat of the Legion, which looms in the sky over Azeroth. Why it only becomes apparent to people with Patch 7.3 is beyond us. The folks at wowhead have already released a small preview video about it:

As with the launch event for Legion, the Harbingers of Doom are distributing various flyers that speak of the end of the world. Some of them are quite dark and suggest executing all friends, while others have a rather comical background, like the “Blackened Pamphlet”:
“Return of Demon Costumes
The theater troupe of the Darkmoon Faire wishes to offer a sincere apology to our customers. While processing the orders for demon costumes, we accidentally shipped costumes for dracthyr. Although they look similar to demons (claws, scales, etc.), they are very different. Do not approach the Legion in a dracthyr costume! This could have dire consequences, such as injury, death, or damage to the costume.
Please return the dracthyr costumes to us and we will send you the demon costumes. We guarantee that you will receive the costumes in time before the Legion executes its final attack, or you will get your money back.”
Harbingers are probably just an event for Argus
Some fans had hoped that the Harbingers of Doom could already be the harbingers of the next expansion, but that does not seem to be the case. Only one of the flyers has rough connections to the Old Gods. Loosely translated, it says:
“An emerald sun sets in the chamber of the heavens, but it casts no shadow.
The world raises its voice in horror, but only one can hear its cries.
From the place that is everywhere and nowhere, the deceptive serpent feeds on the stars.
It has no eyes to see, but it dreams of countless endings and countless beginnings.
<Strange glyphs and writings in an unknown language cover the rest of the scroll>“
That sounds very much like the chaos of the Old Gods, doesn’t it?
Apparently, this worked well, because they’re bringing the trick back again.
From December 5th, however, all players, including non-pre-order customers, should be able to obtain Coldheart.
Exotic Trace Rifle Coldheart – Pre-Order Trailer
As Bungie now announces in a trailer, pre-order customers of Destiny 2 will receive the exotic weapon “Coldheart.” Its German name, of course, is “Kaltherz” – what else?
Bungie celebrates this with dancing Cabal, flowing capes in the wind, explosions, and “Ice Ice Baby,” which was popularized at the time by Vanilla Ice.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwC1dsRHvno
What is Coldheart? What do we know about the pre-order weapon in Destiny 2?
The type of weapon Coldheart is translated in German as “Spurgewehr” – in the original English it is a “Trace Rifle.”.
Whether this is a new weapon category, we do not currently know. But we will introduce “Coldheart” extensively in an article tomorrow, as “Coldheart” is likely to be brought into the spotlight by Bungie. The weapon is also part of another insight into Destiny 2 together with IGN.
Update: From the weapon guru of Destiny, Jon Weisnewski, there are details about the new Exotic: Coldheart deals Arc damage, is carried in the “Energy” slot, and is excellently suited to deal damage to single targets.
Mein-MMO states: It looks like Bungie has chosen “Coldheart” to be the “Exotic of the Hearts in Destiny 2.” At first glance, the weapon looks like an “Ice Thrower.” Whether Guardians warm up to the Trace Rifle remains to be seen.
They liked the Gjallarhorn in Destiny 1 especially because it was overpowered and broke the balance. That’s how weapons become popular. However, with a pre-order exotic, it would surely be the wrong way to make it too strong. Then non-pre-order customers would be at a disadvantage.
Jagex brings RuneScape, the first western mainstream MMORPG, to the mobile market. Old School RuneScape will be available as a free app for smartphones and tablets in winter 2017. Our author Leya spoke with Jagex Senior Product Manager Matt Casey about the development of Mobile Crossplay. RuneScape has apparently always been suitable for mobile devices.
Old School RuneScape is an older version of the MMORPG classic from 2007. This old version still has a core of loyal players who receive weekly updates from the developers. The “normal” RuneScape will join the App Store a little later than Old School RuneScape.
The special feature of the app will be that RuneScape can seamlessly switch between PC and mobile device. This means players can start RuneScape on the PC and switch to their phone or tablet in the middle of playing. The app will start exactly where the players left off on the PC. Conversely, switching from mobile to PC works the same way.
I had the opportunity to speak with Matt Casey. He is a Senior Product Manager at Jagex and is working intensively on the Mobile Crossplay of (Old School) RuneScape. Casey revealed to me that players did not want a stripped-down mobile version of RuneScape.
“Our players want the full MMORPG experience on smartphones and tablets”
At Jagex, the developers work closely with their players and regularly gather feedback and wishes. For example, players of Old School RuneScape determine through a poll which weekly mini-updates make it into the game.
In a player survey, Jagex found that 90% of active and 64% of inactive players are interested in playing RuneScape on mobile devices. However, the players also stated that they want to play the full version on their smartphones or tablets.
Especially, inactive users stated they would love to continue playing RuneScape.
For former players of RuneScape, the seamless mobile cross-play could be a way to return to the MMORPG.
Busy players want more flexibility – Lack of time is secondary
RuneScape has been around since 2001. Many former RuneScape players dove into the fantasy MMORPG as teenagers back then. For them, there were still free weekends, few obligations, and long summer vacations. Perfect for grinding, leveling, and exploring the joyful world of RuneScape for hours.
These players have since grown up and lead busy lives. With work, children, and household, there is often little room for a complex MMORPG. According to Casey, it’s not necessarily time that players lack, but more flexibility.
Many of the inactive players indicated that they would return to RuneScape with a full-fledged mobile version.
They have the need to play the MMORPG of their youth on the go, whether on a bus or on the way to work. They want to casually sit by their little children’s beds and pass the time when the little one has a restless night. Or simply indulge in some extra 5 minutes on the toilet with farming.
RuneScape has always been tailored for mobile devices
RuneScape will be the first major mainstream MMORPG from the west to enable mobile crossplay. I was surprised that a classic like RuneScape would be one of the first to take this step.
Matt Casey told me that RuneScape has been designed for mobile since its inception in 2001. Could Andrew and Paul Gower, the founders of Jagex, have known 16 years ago what a strong impact the mobile market would have in 2017? Probably not.
It may have been a fortunate gut feeling to build (Old School) RuneScape in a way that completely relies on point-and-click mechanics.According to Casey, this is extremely easy to implement on mobile devices. The same applies to the camera perspective that Old School RuneScape uses. This allows developers to quickly offer their Old School RuneScape as a full version for smartphones and tablets.
The biggest challenge is to adapt the interface for smartphones and tablets. The different screen sizes of devices are a tricky task in technical implementation. Getting the client on mobile devices is relatively easy. Casey promised that the versions between mobile devices and PCs will always be in sync.
The technology and the needs of the players aligned at this time to enable mobile crossplay in winter 2017.

In this gameplay trailer, you can get an idea of Old School RuneScape. The point-and-click mechanics are ideally suited to bring the MMORPG classic to mobile devices.

Jagex wants to primarily reach inactive core players
Casey is aware that Old School RuneScape might deter the casual “Candy Crush player” in the App Store. A school MMORPG that also looks a bit dated is certainly not for everyone.
Primarily, the developers want to reach their inactive core players with mobile crossplay. However, Casey believes that a broader audience could also enjoy the fantasy MMORPG. The model of weekly updates and the gameplay of Old School RuneScape fits the fast-paced mobile market.
At this time, Casey could not say what requirements mobile devices need to meet to run (Old School) RuneScape. However, Jagex is oriented to the mobile devices that their core players use.
What about you? Would you play the MMORPG classic Old School RuneScape on your smartphone or tablet?
For the current raid in World of Warcraft, the Tomb of Sargeras, a new wing for the LFR tool has been available since today, Wednesday, July 26: The Chamber of the Avatar.
For some players, the LFR difficulty of the raid is the only one they will experience from the instance. These players, as well as those who additionally want to relatively easily acquire new loot, will certainly be pleased with the new challenge. Here is a brief overview with a quick guide.
Unlike in the previous wings, however, in the Chamber of the Avatar, we will only encounter two new encounters: The Vigilant Maid and the Avatar of Sargeras (or also the Fallen Avatar). However, beautiful loot awaits here: two pieces of the T-20 set – The Chest (Maid) and the Shoulders (Avatar).
The Vigilant Maid turns players into bombs
First, we face the Vigilant Maid, a corrupted keeper of the Titans with a split personality between Light and Dark. The area is located directly in the Sanctum of the Guardian, where only two enemy groups separate us from the actual boss. The fight itself is relatively easy: Anyone who gets a Bomb from Mass Instability should jump into the hole just before the timer runs out and will be hurled back in the direction of their back.
The Maid also switches sides multiple times. When she teleports, each player will either have a Light or Demon Infusion, and should avoid the resulting orbs of the opposite color. If the shield that the Corrupted gives is broken and the spell is interrupted, everything starts over.
The Avatar of Sargeras is simple (in LFR)
Next, the Avatar of Sargeras awaits, originally the shell that the Titan was supposed to fill.
Once you defeat the first of the two bosses, it is just a short distance to the Avatar. An elevator, which appears shortly after in the large hole in the middle of the room, takes us on a very interesting ride through various layers of Azeroth down into the Chamber of the Avatar. Here, too, only two enemies wait, which, after their defeat, will clear the way to the boss.
The Fallen Avatar is not particularly complex. He has three abilities: Unleashed Chaos, Reality Fracture, and Devastate. The latter applies only to the two tanks, who should off-tank the boss when they accumulate a stack of the debuff left by the ability. The Unleashed Chaos affects every player, with each character regularly leaving behind green whirling fields at their current position for a few seconds, which shortly afterward will detonate for moderate damage. One should move out beforehand and make sure not to stand in anyone’s way, and after three areas, this ability is also survived.
The Reality Fracture is an explosion throughout the entire room, which causes less damage the further one stands from the stationary Avatar – but the damage does not seem lethal even when standing directly next to him.
Once the boss reaches 100 energy, he shatters the ground, and he and the entire group fall one level lower, onto a large platform in a lake of demon lava. The boss is no longer stationary here but needs to be positioned. He retains Devastate and Reality Fracture, with the latter also now destroying the ground in its area of effect. Therefore, he should be tanked in the corners of the room to avoid destroying as much ground as possible.
Finally, he swaps the unleashed chaos for Dark Mark. This creates a dark circle around a player that deals damage after a short time and knocks back all affected players. Since the damage is relatively high even in LFR, it should be divided among at least five players.
To PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds two new maps have been planned for a while. However, these new areas are far from finished. Additionally, there is new information about the first-person mode. It lacks the crosshair.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently played on a large map reminiscent of an abandoned island in the former Soviet Union. But that is not the only thing. Two new maps for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are in planning. A map in the Mediterranean and a desert map have already been introduced.
The scenes shown from the maps are still far from a reason to expect an imminent release.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – New maps have only shown a “showcase corner” so far
According to PUBG head Brendan Greene, creating a map takes a very long time.
It took more than six months alone to make the current map playable, and what has been seen in the previous screenshots would only be a beautiful “showcase corner” of the map.
So a point that has already been completed to show what is still possible. The new maps will still take a lot of time. They will announce a new map “when it’s ready.” Also, the famous bicycle on the desert map would indeed be usable, the game mechanics would be there. However, Greene doesn’t want to promise anything yet.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – No animals on the maps, PUBG remains PvP
Furthermore, there will not be any wild animals on the maps in the foreseeable future. The AI required for that would be far too complex, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is primarily a PvP shooter without PvE elements.
Even though Brendan Greene thinks it’s cool to be attacked by wild animals while sneaking through the vegetation.
Also interesting: The old map is by no means going to become irrelevant when the new battlegrounds arrive. Instead, the old map is to receive updates regularly and grow alongside it.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – First-Person mode without crosshair
For the soon-to-be-released first-person mode in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, there is also something new. In addition to the new perspective, there will be no automatically displayed crosshair. This means you will have to use the respective aiming device of your weapon.
In ARK: Survival Evolved , the server capacity will practically double at release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on August 8th. This will cost a lot. The old servers are reportedly suffering from dupe problems, but they do not intend to wipe them, instead opting to continue financing them.
In 2016, players were assured that there would be no server wipe at the release of ARK: Survival Evolved. They respect the time players have invested in the game. Players can, therefore, keep everything from Early Access when ARK transitions to release.
Items were duped on old servers – that’s why they wanted to wipe them
But now, as the release approaches, ARK has changed its mind and wants to wipe the servers to get rid of “duped” items. In recent months, there have been issues with a dupe exploit.
The dupe exploit arose because the developers were so focused on the release that they became inattentive in other areas. The exploit has been hidden for so long that it has caused irreversible damage.
These dupe bugs had a “very, very negative impact on PvP,” Stieglitz told Kotaku. Some clans have apparently gained huge advantages.
The only solution they saw was a complete wipe of the servers. All other options were deemed insufficient.
A message was sent to the press stating somewhat along the lines of: “We will give you an interview before launch where we announce that we will wipe all servers at launch,” which is supposed to have been in messages that reached outlets like Kotaku. The big server wipe for ARK was planned for August 7th.
Nevertheless, they will not be wiped
However, the complete server wipe came to nothing. They have decided to change their minds again.
When the ARK developers actually arrived for the press event, it was then said: “We took one more intensive look and no, there will be no wipe after all.”
100,000 US dollars more a month for new servers
The solution now will be to keep the old servers running as “legacy servers,” while planning to set up about the same amount of new servers. These new servers are also to be “dupe-safe” and will receive a new security system – presumably to protect against DDoS attacks.
In an interview with PC Gamer, the ARK lead developer mentions that about 200,000 US dollars will be spent per month. 100,000 US dollars for the old servers with dupe problems, and 100,000 US dollars for the new ones.
Players will have the choice of whether to play on “clean, new servers” or “old ones with these dupe problems.”
New players at launch should stay away from “legacy servers.”
Stieglitz seems to assume that with the retail launch on August 8th, ARK can double its player base and wants to give the new players the opportunity to play on fresh servers.
The time has come. The adventures in the free-to-play MMORPG Neverwinter continue and lead you into the jungle of Chult in the latest adventure module “Tomb of Annihilation”. Here is the trailer for the launch.
You access the new area through the port city of Port Nyanzaru, which represents an exotic new hub for you. Port Nyanzaru is a large city where you can find everything you need for your adventures. There you will also receive the first quests related to the story. Because you are still searching for a way to break the death curse that is ravaging the city of Neverwinter.
Undead and Dinos in the Jungle
The main quest will lead you into the depths of the jungle, where undead and even dinosaurs await you. Additionally, you can participate in Volo’s monster hunts. In the dangerous ruins of the jungle and in the pirate hideouts along the coast, you can find valuable treasures. Additionally, it is possible to acquire new equipment that allows you to further enhance your heroes.
Search for Treasures
The new adventures are only suitable for high-level players and you should only venture into the jungle in a group. There you enter the tomb of the Nine Gods, where deadly traps and many treasures await you.
If you complete the adventure quests repeatedly, treasure maps await you, leading you to secret locations! There are plenty of challenges awaiting you when you dive into the adventures of “Tomb of Annihilation”. The module will also be released at a later date for the console versions of the MMORPG Neverwinter.

In the sandbox MMO ArcheAge naval battles are coming soon. In the upcoming summer update in Korea, a new arena mode will be introduced where you can duel with ships and take down sea monsters and fortifications.
Ships have always played an important role in ArcheAge. After all, maritime trade is essential, and successful guilds have built prestigious ships like the Black Pearl early on.
Those who want more naval PvP action can look forward to the new naval battle arenas.
ArcheAge – Four Ships in Duel
In the new naval battle mode, four ships fight against each other. Each ship is manned by a team of five players. Additionally, there are four types of ships from which you can choose one. Each ship has its own values and advantages as well as disadvantages. For example, some ships are faster than others. Other types of ships are more heavily armored or ram particularly hard.
Alternatively, you can also set out with teams of just four players. This is practical if there are not enough players to form full 5-player teams. Each round lasts 12 minutes and you will not only fight against the other ships. You must also pay attention to the current and the wind. Furthermore, huge sea monsters roam the vastness of the oceans, which can attack your ships and sink them quickly. Therefore, naval battles are often a mix of PvP and PvE.
ArcheAge – Naval Battle Mode – Currently Only for Korea
So far, the new feature is only announced for the Korea version of ArcheAge. It will be released there on July 27, 2017. A release date for the naval battle arena in the West is not yet known. We have embedded a video of the naval battle spectacle for you here. Enjoy watching!

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is bringing microtransactions in the early release version for a limited time. However, only for a short period during Gamescom. Additionally, there will be the July update in August and a Gamescom tournament.
At the launch of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the developers stated that there would be no microtransactions during early access . The revenue from the game was said to be sufficient for further development.
This may still be true, but in order to finance another event, there will be microtransactions in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for a short time.
Starting from August 3, the monthly update planned for July will bring the long-awaited first-person servers for solo and duo mode, a new rifle, and the FOV (Field of View) settings (So two major updates might come in August).
Additionally, there will be three new loot boxes:
Wanderer Crate
Survivor Crate
Gamescom Invitational Crate
All these boxes contain cosmetic items that are all inspired by the legendary film “Battle Royale” and were already seen in older artworks of the game. Wanderer and Survivor Crates can be obtained regularly for in-game earned points. However, the Gamescom crate must be purchased for 2.50 US dollars and it contains the most skins at once.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Loot Boxes Fund Gamescom Tournament
With the money from the boxes, the developers do not want to line their pockets. Rather, the revenue from the Gamescom crates is intended to finance a prize pool for a big PUBG tournament at this year’s Gamescom. The tournament will include prominent streamers and YouTubers, but Gamescom visitors can also qualify.
After the end of the Gamescom fair on August 27, the Gamescom crates will be removed without replacement (you can of course keep the loot). The microtransactions are therefore really only intended for the event. Any surplus will be donated by the developers to charitable organizations.
The latest episode of the living story of Guild Wars 2 titled “One Path Ends” is here. It actually takes you to Orr, where all sorts of undead roam. We traveled with the developers and can report on the highlights of the final episode of the third season.
As already suspected, the last episode of the living story of Guild Wars 2 takes you to Orr. This peninsula was once devastated by a catastrophe and later became home to the undead dragon Zhaitan. Therefore, it is still crawling with nasty undead.
Guild Wars 2 – Undead and Divine Power
In “One Path Ends,” you seek the power of the gods in the south of the ruins of Orr. To do this, you must find and activate the shrines of all deities.
However, due to the many undead, this is quite tricky. The rotten fellows come in the usual forms, but among them are some particularly clever fellas known as “Kingpins” who improve their dumb zombie buddies. Therefore, they are our primary targets.
While you can take down a Kingpin relatively easily, there are far more terrifying dangers in Orr. For example, a gigantic giant that can only be defeated by figuring out and exploiting his weaknesses from his active buffs. Unfortunately, we never learned how to kill the giant, as the developers dragged us away.
Guild Wars 2 – Lamentations as New Mastery
As is usual since the last expansion Heart of Thorns, there is again a new mastery in “One Path Ends.” This time we will be musical and can use ancient laments to grant buffs to ourselves and our teammates.
These laments are the echoes of the siren songs that rang out here long ago to praise the gods.
Guild Wars 2 – Aerial Battles and Lava Beatings
The map “Siren’s Landing,” where all the action takes place, is divided into different areas, each associated with a god. In one region, everything is dominated by updrafts, and we can glide indefinitely. There, we collect artifacts for a cute Asura.
In the end, however, a gigantic undead wyvern appears as a boss, and we must reach and kill her quickly despite headwinds and poisonous gas, before she kills us all with her poisonous breath.
Later, we come to the region dominated by lava flows from Balthazar. There, we can earn a special buff. Thanks to this enhancement, our first attack always comes with a hefty knockback. Ideal for kicking helpless opponents into lava streams. They disintegrate in seconds and save us from annoying beatings.
Together with the exciting story – which I don’t want to spoil here – the last episode of the third season offers a lot of cool content again.
A modern MMORPG always includes a player-driven economy. Therefore, Star Citizen will provide this.
With the upcoming Alpha 3.0, kiosks will find their way to Star Citizen. These will serve as the foundation for a player-driven economy, a Playerdriven Economy. Through a kiosk, you will be able to offer items from your inventory and also purchase items available there.
Each player will then list their items through the kiosk and hope they sell for the desired price.
Quickly buy and sell goods
Kiosks are to be found in many locations in the Star Citizen universe, so you will always have the opportunity to buy and sell items. Over time, this will create a goods cycle that players will manage and utilize.
Through crafting, some players will manufacture goods and then sell them through the kiosk. Or they mine raw materials, refine them, and offer them for sale. This is intended to allow some players to focus on mining raw materials while others engage in crafting. Again, other players will then purchase the finished product.
Goods must be transported
With the kiosks, the persistent character inventory will be introduced in Star Citizen. Whether you transport an item in your ship or carry it in your pockets, it will remain there until you offer it for sale. Then it changes ownership.
It should be noted that you also need to transport goods. If you buy iron on a mining asteroid and want to bring it to your home on the other side of the galaxy, you must first transport the iron there, which could, in turn, attract pirates who may ambush you along the way.
Through the kiosks, it will be easy to buy and sell goods. However, transport can prove difficult. The kiosks will be introduced in the space MMO Star Citizen with Alpha 3.0. The system will be presented in the new Around the Verse video.

Stricter penalties are here – the new reporting system for Overwatch has been introduced and fans are excited.
In a team game, few things are as annoying as a teammate who constantly misbehaves, insults everyone in voice chat, or ultimately stops playing because the rest of the team doesn’t “dance to their tune.” Such toxic teammates can ruin the fun for all other 11 players in Overwatch, which is why Blizzard aims to drastically reduce tolerance for this behavior.
In the official forum, Community Manager Lylirr has now written a long post explaining what changes are already in effect and what is coming in the future.

Those who misbehave in Overwatch will face stricter consequences. If players are reported and then found guilty, the following penalties may apply:
“Silence” (Can no longer chat / talk in voice chat)
Temporary ban
Permanent ban
Offenses include the “usual suspects”, such as insulting chat messages, harassment, in-game spam, inactivity in the match (deliberate AFK), and griefing (intentionally disrupting the enjoyment of others – for example, repeatedly trapping your own team with an ice wall).
These stricter penalties take effect immediately and are already being implemented by the community team.
More feedback in the future
However, this is not the end of the plans. Throughout the coming year, Blizzard aims to further refine the reporting system. There are several things that will be improved in the near future to enhance the reporting system for all users.
Scaling penalties for ranked games (full season bans)
A notification system when reported players receive a sanction
Features to punish players more harshly who abuse the reporting system
Overall, creating a “peaceful and welcoming” gaming environment is one of the biggest goals, and thus the reporting function is one of the most important features.

Reporting system for PS4 and Xbox One in internal testing
Blizzard is still diligently working on the reporting system for PS4 and Xbox One. Internally, they have now entered a testing phase and are trying out the first versions. They emphasize that many at Blizzard are console players themselves and they want to achieve the same standard as on PC.
In the forum and on Twitter, players are showing satisfaction. So it seems a good first step has been taken.
What do you think of these announcements and promises? A good thing or just a lot of hot air until something actually happens?
Last week, Jagex announced that RuneScape will be the very first established mainstream cross-platform MMO in the Western world. However, the developers of Villagers and Heroes see it differently.
Jagex is currently working on a mobile version of the venerable MMORPG RuneScape. The developers state that RuneScape will thus be the very first major cross-platform MMO in the Western world. The mobile version will launch in 2018. However, Mad Otter Games has a say in this matter.
Is RuneScape really not the first cross-platform MMORPG?
The development studio explains that Jagex is completely mistaken. Because the MMORPG Villagers and Heroes is already playable on PC and Android devices, thus making it cross-platform capable. Mad Otter has to add to this by stating that Villagers and Heroes is not only the first but also the best cross-platform MMORPG in the world.

Whether this is true is another question. Because there are several other online role-playing games that can be played on both PC and mobile devices. These include AdventureQuest 3D, Pixel Worlds, Pocket Legends, Nebula Online, and Arcane Legends. These titles are also cross-platform capable. And Albion Online also offers a mobile version that can be played on tablets.
The situation is not so clear-cut, neither for RuneScape nor for Villagers and Heroes.
A question of status
Gerd Schuhmann says: The joke here is that RuneScape claimed to be the first “major” Western MMORPG that offers cross-play. At least that is what was stated in the German press release we have. Implicit in that is: “What any second-rate MMOs have done before us is not worth mentioning.”
How one defines “major” is a tricky matter. RuneScape probably means something like “top-tier.” Other developers also want to play in the big leagues.
There are unspoken status differences among MMOs between the established MMORPGs of major publishers, the AAA products (WoW, ESO, GW2, FF14), and the games of smaller publishers, which appear much less frequently in the media. They do not want to miss such an opportunity.

The open beta of the gravity shooter “LawBreakers” starts on July 28, 2017, for PS4 and PC. We will show you the times when the fun begins and when the preload starts.
LawBreakers is a team-based, brutal shooter set in dynamic combat arenas where gravity is inverted. This is due to the explosion of the moon. The various classes you can choose in the game have their pros and cons, making battles in zero gravity interesting. The open beta for LawBreakers on PC and PS4 starts this weekend – you will have a few days to get a personal impression of the game.
Start times of the open beta of LawBreakers on PC and PS4:
Here in Germany, the open beta of the shooter starts on Friday, July 28, at 4:00 PM. Then you will have the entire weekend to play LawBreakers, try out the different classes, and prove your skill on the zero-gravity maps.
End of the open beta of LawBreakers on PC and PS4:
On Monday, July 31, the open testing phase will end. At 4:00 PM German time the gates will close and the beta will end. Anyone who wants to thoroughly test the game should not make any plans for the weekend.
In the beta of Destiny 2, engrams were not supposed to drop. Yet, they did. What items came out of it?
The beta of Destiny 2 has just ended a few hours ago. It’s time to highlight a special case.
The only known engrams in Destiny 2 so far dropped due to a bug on the Xbox One, and that for two people. The lucky ones thus escape the limited item selection available to players in the Destiny 2 beta. The items that came from the engrams are unique pieces for the moment.
The site vg247, which reports on the phenomenon, says: There might be others who experienced this bug, but it’s likely very rare.
The engrams were immediately decoded since there was no cryptarch in the beta.
Player receives the most powerful item in Destiny 2, but it is nothing special
One engram turned into a class armor for the Warlock named “Fatum Praevaricator.”
The special thing about the armor is that it had 203 defense, which is 3 more than the 200 that every item otherwise has in the beta. Thus, BlackJesus71450 was at least theoretically the player with the highest decimal place at the light level. He had more light than everyone else. So he was practically totally overpowered. Yet, that didn’t seem to be that great.
Tradition continues in Destiny 2: The cryptarch is not a friend of the players.
The other engram was even less spectacular. An auto rifle with Void damage dropped: the Refrain-23. You can see the auto rifle in action here.

The new numbers from SuperData are here. Which games were the most successful in June 2017? Once again, League of Legends is among them, holding strong at the top. Blizzard’s Overwatch, on the other hand, has dropped a few spots.
As every month, SuperData has announced which games generated the most digital revenue. This list is for June.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds makes it to the PC top ten
The top spots of PC games are exactly the same as in May. This means that once again the MOBA League of Legends takes 1st place, while the online shooter Crossfire takes 2nd. Crossfire is considered “China’s answer to Counter Strike.”
World of Tanks drops one spot, allowing the shooter Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds to enter the top 10. Blizzard’s Overwatch has fallen two spots but still managed to stay in the top 10 of PC games. Newly added is the Minecraft-like online game ROBLOX.
GTA 5 fights its way back to the top
Things have changed a bit in the consoles. FIFA 17 dropped to 2nd place while GTA 5 returned to the throne. Overwatch rose two spots. New to 9th place is the remake of the arcade series Crash Bandicoot for the PS4. Interestingly, Destiny is still not represented in the top 10. Also, NBA 2K17 dropped out, just like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Instead, the beat ’em up Tekken 7 made it to 8th place.
And Fantasy Westward Journey rose from 9th place to 2nd. Clash Royale had to drop from 1st to 5th place. New in the top 10 is Dragon Chronicles, while Lineage 2 Revolution dropped out of the top 10. Just like in May, there’s nothing left from Pokémon GO in the top 10.
