In Destiny the Weekly Reset is today. Additionally, August 1 marks the end of the “Age of Triumph” seal book.
Since the beginning of July 2017, the time of the last deadlines in Destiny has been running. Today marks a significant turning point. Because today is August 1 – the deadline after which the seal book for the Age of Triumph can no longer be completed.
In the coming weeks, you can still play (most) weekly activities, however, Rank 7 in the “Age of Triumph” book can no longer be achieved and the T-shirt can no longer be earned. The Age of Triumph was the last content update for Destiny. New goals for the Guardians will only appear again in Destiny 2.
By the way, this evening the last Iron Banner in the history of Destiny 1 starts. We will report on the end of the “Iron Banner” era.
Now at 11 AM is the weekly reset. Let’s see what else the new week brings.

The last episode of Living World Season 3 has arrived on the Guild Wars 2 servers! And with this, probably the last release before the next big addon, players receive a new fractal. Enough reason for our author, the Arch Chancellor, to take a closer look at the fractal “Shattered Observatory”.
The Arch Chancellor and his beloved Necromancer had not been seen in Tyria for a long time. But the prospect of a new fractal has piqued my curiosity as well.
If you want to dive into battle without prejudice, I recommend not reading further. While I will try to keep my report fairly free of spoilers, spoilers cannot be completely avoided. All others are warmly invited to explore “Shattered Observatory” with me, as that is the name of the new fractal.
Fractals, Curse or Blessing?
Fractals have always been a point of contention in the Guild Wars 2 community, as these instances are detached from their surroundings. You enter them through a lobby, and their scope is often smaller than that of classic instances. With the epic length of a visit to the Ruins of Arah, for instance, fractals cannot compete. From a developer’s perspective, instances that are not directly connected to the world are, of course, easier to maintain, so we players can occasionally look forward to new fractals.
With my Darksteel Greatsword freshly sharpened, I find myself in Lion’s Arch in front of the portal. For my first visit, I dare the unthinkable and search for group members through the group search function. An unusual decision, as I could dash through the new content with experienced guild members. But of course, the goofballs are all asleep on a Sunday just before eight. But for you, dear readers, I happily walk through fire and throw myself into battle with strangers.
Random Groups, the Best Testing Phase for New Content?!
Those who want to enter the Shattered Observatory can choose between levels 25, 50, 75, and 100. Considering my long absence, I decided to start with the level 25 fractal and joined a group where none of them had experience in this fractal yet.
Once in the fractal, I marvel at the scenery and sense something ominous. I can’t help but think of Alice in Wonderland. Floating ruins and platforms. Once again, I’m aware of how well the graphics of Guild Wars 2 have held up over the last five years. However, there’s not much time to waste, as the Shattered Observatory does not start quietly.
Mindless Trash Mobs Are Hard to Find
After a few hesitant jumps, I find myself in front of Skorvald, and it seems to me that the good guy is not happy. But at this point, the strength of the new fractal becomes apparent. Those who have left their brains and backpacks at home can jump right off the platform. The Shattered Observatory and its bosses are far from the “Tank & Spank” mechanics of other MMOs or earlier Guild Wars 2 instances.
While you always had to move a bit more in Guild Wars 2, what is expected in the Observatory is another good step up.
I didn’t expect a morning without deaths, but being face-down on the warm instance floor during the first boss was a bit of a surprise.
Dumb comments like “Teaching years are not lord years” race through my mind as my Necromancer adjusts her cleavage to charge at Skorvald again. And lo and behold, the old Erzi is still capable of learning. On the second attempt, the boss is defeated.
No Ground, but a Short Story!
After a dreamy cutscene, my Necromancer suddenly stands in outer space. An ungrounded audacity! For someone with a fear of heights like me, not the ideal environment. Fortunately, the developers spare me the jumping puzzles I abhor and send us after a short interlude to the next boss fight. With Viirastra, my “Alice in Wonderland” vibe intensifies, the Shattered Observatory is quirky.
My hope to once again apply what I learned in the first battle dissipates when a red skull appears above my Necromancer’s head. Usually not the international sign for healing.
How right I was becomes apparent seconds later as the entire group is wiped out. It quickly becomes clear that anyone who is not fully alert will draw the ire of their teammates.
Those Who Are Not Attentive Harm the Group.
This also applies to the last boss of the fractal, whom we face right after overcoming the battle against Viirastra. Arkk, as he is named, combines the various mechanics of his colleagues and significantly tortures us.
And it becomes clear to me: Shattered Observatory is not a beginner fractal.
New players will surely curse at the Shattered Observatory at first. For seasoned Guild Wars 2 players, however, it represents long-awaited challenging content outside of raids.
And correspondingly, the reaction in the community is also positive; many players praise the high difficulty level and the intricate boss mechanics. My subsequent instance runs with my guild in Challenge Mode at a higher difficulty level confirm this impression. The bosses are not only sturdier but also feature abilities that were not present in the lower difficulty levels.
The Shattered Observatory: Only Partially Suitable for Beginners.
Arenanet has pushed the idea of fractals to the limit with the Observatory. It partially resembles a PvE arena where we wander from boss fight to boss fight to prove ourselves. Within the framework of a fractal, it is a welcome change. For many players, the Shattered Observatory is considered one of the best and most interesting fractals, surely also because it is new in the game. However, it also shows that Arenanet is striving to provide Guild Wars 2 with new content that does not always follow the same pattern.
My Necromancer and I had a lot of fun in the Observatory. We are certainly not the last to visit this place, especially since I have not yet taken the hungry little cat with me that can be found after completing the fractal.
Have you explored the Observatory yet? And if so, what do you think of the plethora of boss mechanics that this fractal has to offer?
This evening, the next expansion for Guild Wars 2 will be announced.
If Soldier: 76 causes too much nonsense, Reinhardt locks him up for the rest of the round. Don’t you believe it? This is exactly what happens in Overwatch!
Every week, absurd, exciting, or simply funny moments happen in Overwatch that are often captured in a “Play of the Game.” We searched social media and picked out three special highlights for you. Enjoy our three “Play of the Game” moments of the week in Overwatch!
As Mercy, it can be difficult to find the right path. Should you hide in the corner and wait until the whole team is dead to resurrect them? Or should you grab a weapon and help out yourself? The player Dad76 shows how to do it right. Using his wings, he navigates to his dead teammates, resurrects them, and then cleans up single-handedly. Whether it’s Supercharger, Orisa, or Hanzo – nothing is safe from a Mercy in a blood frenzy!
A melee fighter like Doomfist has no place in a hero shooter like Overwatch? Not at all! Superlala starts swinging fists and tries to take Hanamura from the defending team. He doesn’t even need teammates for this, as he takes out the entire enemy team single-handedly. And then ask again if this hero is too strong…

Our last clip is (as so often) not really a Play of the Game, but instead a funny scene. The player Mejrinho should actually capture the second control point in the Temple of Anubis for his team, but is stopped by a charging Reinhardt. He carries Soldier: 76 to the next wall – but doesn’t crush him. Instead, he gets pushed through the wall and gets stuck. He watches the rest of the match from his cell. Luckily not for very long.

Did you also experience a particularly cool game scene that you recorded on video? Then just send us a link to the video (preferably on YouTube) and maybe you will find your clip in this article next week!
Pokémon trainers can now find another legendary monster in the world of Pokémon GO. Moltres has been unlocked as the next part of the bird trio.
For a few hours now, you can find the legendary Pokémon “Moltres” in Pokémon GO. As the developers explained on Facebook, you can find the fire bird in the game since the morning of August 1st. Keep an eye out for the legendary raid battles where you can find this opponent.
Finding Moltres – New bird in the game
The first legendary Pokémon can be found since the anniversary event in Pokémon GO. Trainers had to wait about a year for these special monsters that enhance every collection. The first ones were Lugia and Articuno – these were the first to be caught by trainers around the world.

Articuno has now temporarily retreated to its home and makes way for another part of the bird trio. We are talking about Moltres. The fire and flying-type Pokémon has been available in the game since today (August 1, 2017).
A few days ago, Niantic explained that the legendary birds will not appear as raid bosses “forever”. Each of the three legendary birds (Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres) will only be available in the game for a limited time. How long Lugia will remain in the game is initially unclear.
On Twitter, the Pokémon GO account explained how long the Pokémon will be available and announced the dates. It was initially unclear whether these were US times or global releases. As a result, many players yesterday waited in vain for Moltres. Now it is clear, it was the US times and the original dates are shifted by one day in Germany.
In arenas around the world, Moltres could now appear as a raid boss. Do you have the right Pokémon to defeat it quickly?
You have good chances with rock-type Pokémon like Golem. In our counter-guide, we explain which Pokémon you can use to quickly win against Moltres. Some trainers have noticed that the fight against Moltres is “easier” than against Articuno.
The new cards from the Hearthstone expansion “Knights of the Frozen Throne” are impressive. Priests can copy an entire deck!
Gradually, more and more cards from the upcoming expansion “Knights of the Frozen Throne” for Hearthstone are revealed. Among the latest cards, there are some major highlights!
Priests get the Twilight Father as a new minion – better known as Archbishop Benedictus. It costs 7 mana and has stats of 4/6 along with a quite powerful Battlecry: Mix a copy of your opponent’s deck into your own!
Also for Priests, there is a powerful new form of mind control. For 6 mana, they can cast the spell Embrace Darkness on an opposing minion. At the start of the Priest’s next turn, you gain control of that minion, provided it is still alive by then.
Dragon fans get the Cobalt Scalebane, a solid minion for 5 mana with stats of 5/5. At the end of your turn, the dragon gives another friendly minion +3 attack.
For Druids, there is a new Nerubian, the Crypt Lord. For 3 mana, it comes with Taunt and solid 1/6 stats. Every time you summon another minion, it gains +1 health.
A new neutral pirate is the Phantom Freebooter. For 4 mana, it only has weak 3/3 stats, but its Battlecry makes up for it. Because it adds the stats of the player’s weapon to its own (With a 3/2 axe, it gains +3/2).
Warlocks have obviously developed a fetish for vampires. Because they receive the card Gnomeferatu – a 2/3 minion with a Battlecry: Removes the top card from your opponent’s deck. This makes it the first card in the game that actively allows you to take a card from your opponent.
The Meat Wagon is an interesting new card that relies on buffs to really be effective. For 4 mana, it has stats of 1/4 and a death rattles effect: Summons a minion from your deck that has less attack than this minion.
Not in the mood for the Mage’s “Ping” or the Hunter’s shot? The neutral minion Mindbreaker provides relief! For 3 mana, it not only has impressive stats of 2/5, but also an additional effect: Hero powers are disabled. Just based on the stats, it should be an “Instant Pick” in many decks.
For Warriors, there is the Val’kyr Soulclaimer. This 3 mana minion comes with weak stats of 1/4 but summons a 2/2 Ghoul every time it takes damage and does not die.
What do you think of these new cards? Are there cool innovations, or is it “too much RNG” for you?
In the Free2Play MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online, the One Ring still exists a little longer than planned. The expansion Mordor is being delayed.
In fact, today was supposed to be the day the One Ring was destroyed. The MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online planned to launch its expansion “Mordor” live today, on July 31. But that will not happen for now.
Lord of the Rings Online Mordor: Date July 31 cannot be met
But that will not happen. As the development studio Standing Stone Games announced at short notice, they have found a problem related to the movement patterns of monsters and NPCs. This is an issue that mainly occurs in older game content.
Standing Stone Games will need “a little while” to solve the problem. Therefore, they will delay the expansion Mordor and cannot keep the planned date.
More information on when Mordor will actually be released should be available soon. We will update the article as soon as we know the exact release date for Mordor.
Mordor brings over 300 new quests, High Elves as a new race
The expansion Mordor will introduce a new playable race with the High Elves. In addition, over 300 quests and hundreds of new deeds await players. A raid in Mordor is also planned.
For a while, it seemed that this year could be the last for the F2P MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online. The developer studio Turbine is transitioning away from MMORPGs towards mobile.
The expansion Mordor and update 21 will arrive on Wednesday, August 2. The servers will go offline around 1:00 PM our time and should be back online with the expansion Mordor at LOTRO around 6:00 PM our time.
If you have found a particularly good or even legendary weapon in Fortnite, you will eventually have to say goodbye to it. Repairing weapons is impossible in this survival shooter. However, there are alternatives to at least get your favorite weapon back.
Fortnite has a deep crafting system that allows you to create ammunition, weapons, and traps. There are some statistics to keep in mind when crafting weapons, such as damage or magazine size.
One statistic you should keep an eye on is “Durability,” which is the durability of a weapon. Your weapons wear out and break when the durability runs out. You can repair everything in Fortnite except for weapons! If your weapon breaks, it is truly gone.
Watch the “Durability” bar – Weapon durability decreases
In the bar at the bottom right next to your character, you can see your equipped weapons. It’s important to keep a close eye on the “Durability” bar. That is the thin line that appears to the right of your weapons.
In the lower image, you can see that three weapons are equipped. The weapon to the left of the pickaxe has a full durability bar and is in the green zone. The shotgun on the right side is about to break, causing the bar to decrease and turn orange.
If the thin durability bar to the right of the weapon falls to 0, the item will break. Weapons should be dismantled before that happens. This way, the player receives material back from which they can build a new weapon.
Recycle weapons before they break! Then build them again
If the durability bar drops to 0, the weapon is broken and gone forever. Weapons cannot be repaired in Fortnite. If it is a legendary weapon or your favorite gun, that is quite frustrating.
However, what you can do to keep it: build the weapons again.
It is best to dismantle weapons that are about to break. This saves you from having to collect many resources and simply recycles the item. You receive quite a bit of material back when you dismantle.
However, there is a catch with this method.
Weapon Schematics: If you want to craft weapons, you need a blueprint
When you dismantle a weapon, you get the material to build the weapon, but you do not receive a blueprint. The “Weapon Schematics” are essential if you want to craft a weapon.
Blueprints are awarded for completing certain quests
Blueprints can be found in chests
Blueprints can receive upgrades. In Fortnite, almost everything can be leveled up, including blueprints. When you level up the plans, the statistics of the weapon that pops out improve. However, it is recommended to only do this with rare blueprints to avoid wasting blueprint XP.
The best tip is: Fall in love only with a weapon for which you also have a blueprint and that you can craft at will. Weapons whose schematics you do not yet have are only temporary weapons!
Blueprints can be found in Loot Llamas
Why can’t you repair weapons?
It can be quite annoying when your favorite weapon is doomed and you have not yet found a blueprint for it. However, there might be a good reason why there is no option to repair weapons.
If players must keep the blueprints to craft legendary and powerful weapons, they cannot simply pass the plans to beginners. If a low-level player gets the weapon directly, it will break anyway after a while. So if you want powerful weapons, you need to fight your way through Fortnite and continually improve your inventory.
As Fortnite is an Early Access title, all of this could change by the release in 2018.
A controversy over “stream sniping” has erupted in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The implied accusation: The game favors its Twitch stars too heavily.
Stream sniping is a reason for a ban in PUBG. But what does that even mean?
Stream sniping – Hunting the Twitch Stars
In “stream sniping”, you watch the stream of a player you are targeting to gain an advantage. You check when they log in and log into the same lobby at the same time to land in a match with them. Once you’re in the match with them, you know where they are, can ambush them, and kill them.
Streamers like to say when they get killed: “They are stream sniping us!” The current hit shooter PUBG pays particular attention to its streamers. There, “stream sniping” is a reason for a ban.
In PUBG, player Lethoe was recently accused of spying on the popular streamer “Shroud” and then killing him. As punishment, he received a one-week ban.
This happened during a special event: The popular streamers Summit1G and Shroud were playing together and were killed multiple times – including by “Lethoe”, who shortly thereafter received the message “You are banned“.
Warning – those who speak English should brace themselves for some profanity; here is the kill on Shroud and the immediate accusation “They are sniping our stream!”

Ironically: The player says, “I don’t even watch Twitch.” His kill on Shroud was purely coincidental during a gunfight.
The ban came so quickly after the kill, says Lethoe, that it cannot possibly be legitimate. The team would not have had time to verify if the ban was legitimate. They must have acted on impulse.
Pampered Stars?
This incident seems to be dividing the PUBG community. While one half says: Streamers must be protected – anyone who “stream snipes” deserves to be banned, the other half is on the side of the banned player and says: “Normal players must be protected just like Twitch streamers.” The ban is arbitrary.
While community managers are still trying to create balance, the head of the game, PlayerUnknown, sees it differently. In his opinion, the banned player was rightly banned. While it cannot be proven that he actually watched the stream, he constantly tried to join the same lobby as a player who is streaming. There is no other reason for this than to gain an advantage.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has had some trouble with streamers lately. The last incident was about a self-proclaimed performance artist whose performance was being a particularly nasty guy:
The studio CIG behind Star Citizen has postponed Alpha 3.0 again, but is working hard to deliver it soon. The update is said to be much larger than anything before.
Alpha 3.0 is the next major milestone in the space giant Star Citizen. Originally, this was patch 2.7, but it has been elevated to patch “3.0” some time ago because it is such an important milestone.
The first moment when Star Citizen comes together
3.0 is considered the first moment when Star Citizen comes close to what is expected later. Planetary landings are said to be possible. Different systems interact for the first time, everything is dynamic and incredibly exciting.

This is the first step in giving players the tools to create outposts and communities later.
It’s about the streaming technology that allows players to take off from one moon, fly through a system, land on another moon, then pull out the beautiful buggy and race across the whole planet – and all this without loading screens.
Much larger than anything done before
Everything sounds fantastic. The reality: The schedule for 3.0 has now been postponed. Originally, 3.0 was planned for June, then it was postponed to August, and now the patch is intended for early September.
Players have spotted this in the Production Schedule. The delay has raised concerns among fans. Star Citizen has now responded and issued a statement:
First, fans are reminded that the schedule, which is publicly viewable, is actually internal assessments that can change easily.
3.0 is also much more complex and important than all previous patches.
Integrating all of this into the game requires many more bug fixes than previously thought.
The problem is that 3.0 is much bigger than imagined a year ago.
Anyone who thinks that dark intentions are behind this delay is misinformed – such delays in software are to be expected in a project as complicated as this, as anyone who has done it before can confirm.
The whole studio, yes the whole company, is working hard to finish 3.0.
The hype of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has now arrived among a wide audience in the gaming scene. How popular the survival game is is shown by new statistics from SteamSpy. There, hits like Grand Theft Auto 5 or Fallout 4 have now been overtaken by the “newcomer”.
As it turns out, the survival hit PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is even more popular than one might have thought. PUBG has broken the record for the most players (at the same time) for a non-Valve game.
Over 480,000 people played PUBG on Steam at the same time in July 2017. That’s impressive!
PUBG – Highest Peak Players as a Non-Valve Title
SteamSpy is a good resource when looking for statistics on titles on the Steam platform. There you can find a lot of information about how often a game is played, how large the audience is, what the reviews look like, and also how many players are playing a title at the same time.
According to Steamspy, about six million players now own PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Yesterday, on July 30, 2017, the game broke a strong record when 481,304 players played PUBG on Steam simultaneously. The reason why the game is such a hit is explained by Jürgen in his first impressions of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
A number that game hits like Fallout 4, Payday 2, or Grand Theft Auto 5 did not reach. As you can see in the following screenshot, PUBG now holds the record for the most concurrent players in a game not made by Valve.
Even Brendan Greene, PlayerUnknown himself, was pleased with this success. On Twitter, he made it clear that he owes it to his great team at Bluehole.
The survival shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been in Early Access since March and has been well received by many players since then. Last week, the battle royal shooter first surpassed the mark of five million players. Now there are already six million. Strong numbers, considering that a release on PS4 and Xbox One is still pending.
Farming gold is always a popular topic in WoW. But does the latest method really work so well? We reveal what the “Silithus trick” is all about.
In recent weeks, a method for quickly farming gold in World of Warcraft has been making the rounds. But does it really work? What is the deal with “Silithus farming,” with which players allegedly earn up to 250,000 gold an hour?
The various tricks and techniques for farming gold in World of Warcraft have always been a popular topic. Interest in gold farming has surged since it’s now possible to pay for WoW game time with gold. Additionally, one can buy other Blizzard products and even Destiny 2 by converting gold into Blizzard credit.
Farming gold – only real at levels 58 and 59!
For several weeks now, there has been a new popular method among gold-farming fans. They create a new character, level it to level 58 or 59, then apply an XP stop and farm the three camps of the Twilight Hammer in Silithus all day long.
The three camps are full of mobs – always at the appropriate level.
Since the remembrance day of Ahn’Qiraj, the enemies in the three Twilight camps scale with the player’s level. If your character reaches level 110, then the enemies are also at that level. The same applies for level 100, 90, 76, or whatever – they are always adjusted to you.
This means, conversely, that the enemies have a changing loot pool – because a mob at level 60 drops different loot than an enemy at level 110. And this is where you can really profit! By exploiting scaling, it is possible to farm items that are actually very rare: “set pieces” from Classic.
Why does this only work at the Twilight camps?
Loot in Classic followed different rules than in Legion, for example. The loot of an enemy depended mainly on one factor: the level of the enemy. An item of level 58 had a chance of 1:1000 to drop from (almost) all enemies at level 58. But enemies in the classic areas that are level 58 have become rare. Since Cataclysm, there are only a handful of these foes, such as in Ahn’Qiraj 20.
The Twilight camps are thus the only major, reliable sources for loot in the level 58 and 59 range!
Important: To avoid gaining more XP while farming, you need to purchase an XP stop in Orgrimmar (Horde) or Stormwind (Alliance) as soon as you reach level 58. It works best with a Death Knight that starts at level 55.
The relevant NPC Slahtz can be found in Orgrimmar in the Valley of Heroes in the top room of the Hall of War Heroes.
Behsten is located in the castle in Stormwind, in the war room of the other battlefield masters (when you stand in front of Anduin, turn right).
Which loot is particularly valuable? Transmog sets and Teebu’s Longsword
So, what items should one look out for when killing the Twilight servants?
In Classic, there were a number of “sets.” These were not sets in the sense of tier sets, but simply armor pieces that together created a matching appearance.
This includes the “Glorious” set. Especially the pants, which resemble a plate bikini, are highly sought after by many players – worth up to 200,000 gold on some servers. Some call this a “slut mog” from the early days.
The same applies for the “Vanguard” set. Simpler is the “Battle Rage” set, which attracts with its strong red color. As long as it brings gold…
Anyone leveling their character to level 59 will reduce their chance of many of the sets mentioned above by nearly 50%, but they will have another particularly valuable item within reach: Teebu’s Longsword of the Blazing Flames.
This blade resembles a red “lightsaber,” as it consists only of the weapon grip and a strong glowing effect. Additionally, it has another detail that stands out particularly in dark areas. Teebu’s Longsword is itself a light source and has an actual glow! Depending on the server, the price varies greatly. On wowhead, the current average price is a whopping 250,000 gold for instant purchase.
A little less noble is the Blade of Hanna, a two-handed sword with a cool “samurai” look. It typically goes for 70,000 gold at the auction house.
Estimated yield thanks to “LootAppraiser”
Anyone farming here will have plenty of green, blue, and maybe even a few epic items in their bags. Thanks to an addon like LootAppraiser (link to download on Curse), the value of the items can also be assessed right away, providing a good overview of what you carry in your bags.
The enemies in the Twilight camps respawn with a very high frequency, by the way. Anyone teaming up in a group of 5 hardly has to wait for respawns and achieves the highest successes and revenues thanks to personal loot.
This method is particularly effective on well-populated servers with many potential buyers for the gear. But also on role-playing servers, where players like to invest thousands of gold in their character’s “perfect” style armor, a nice sum can be earned.
In general, it can be stated that you can relatively quickly farm valuable possessions with this farming method. However, the problem is finding a buyer for these items. That can often take several weeks or even months. So, if you do not regularly promote your goods in the auction house, you will not get rich with this method.
In conclusion, it can be said: Yes, items worth 250,000 gold can be farmed in an hour. Whether they will actually sell is another matter.
Mein-MMO says: Farming is particularly fun in a group when all members have the addon “LootAppraiser” installed. With it, the theoretical value of the looted items can be determined. If you can measure yourself against your friends as to who snagged the most valuable loot, it makes the whole thing even more enjoyable. And who knows: Maybe you’ll hit the jackpot and pull Teebu’s Longsword of the Blazing Flames from the body of a Twilight Cultist?
The used images of the sets and weapons are from Wowhead.
Lúcioball was one of the most popular arcade modes in Overwatch and many wish for it to become a permanent part of the game. A hint on Reddit gives hope that the sport may return to the screens, at least for a short time.
Doomfist recently joined the battlefields of Overwatch and has been stirring things up.
The question about the Summer Games didn’t take long to arise, as they were quite popular last year. It was believed that Doomfist would come along with the Summer Games.
Many players were particularly fond of last year’s Summer Games event, Lúcioball. And it seems that this mode will be making another appearance in the game soon. At least new achievements from the Xbox One version of the game suggest this.
User Ekultron linked a screenshot of the achievements on Reddit. It shows three achievements associated with Lúcioball.
In English, the achievements state:
Lúcio Hat Trick
Score a goal, a successful defense, and an assist in one round of Lúcioball
Safe Hands
Make three consecutive saves
Volley
Score a goal in Lúcioball by shooting the ball from at least 3 meters high
Lúcio-what?
For those who didn’t play the Summer Games last year and don’t know what the mode is about: Lúcioball is a team game in an arena where two teams of 3 Lúcios face off against each other.
The goal of the game is to get a large ball into the opponent’s goal using only the melee attack and Lúcio’s Soundwave. To enhance mobility, Wallride and the Speed Aura from Crossfade also work. Additionally, jump pads are scattered throughout the arena. It’s essentially the principle of Rocket League applied to Overwatch.
The fascination of so many players with this action-packed brawl can be seen in the following video excerpt:

There is no official information yet on exactly when the Summer Games and specifically Lúcioball will return. However, since summer is not too far away, we can only hope it will be soon.
The balancing in Destiny 2 has been a source of mockery for fans for weeks before the release.
The balancing of weapons in Destiny 1 was a constant source of grief. Sometimes shotguns were too strong, sometimes the sniper rifles dominated. For a long time, grenades were considered too powerful and dominant. No one was really satisfied with the balance in Destiny 1.
Now, the balancing is already under fire weeks before the release of Destiny 2. A “fake tweet” from the weapons guru of Destiny, Jon Weisnewski, is making the rounds on reddit.
Fake tweet from Destiny’s weapons chief “We’re not balancing anymore”
It says: “We have thought long and hard about how to balance Destiny 2. We have learned a lot from Destiny 1. We at Bungie have decided: There will be no balancing in Destiny 2. None at all. Only fusion rifle nerfs.”
Once again: This is a joke from someone. Weisnewski did not tweet this. But it shows how delicate the topic is.
The balancing: You can’t please anyone
The problems in Destiny 1 were mainly that at any given time a certain weapon type or tactic was seen as superior in PvP. If you did not play this weapon combination or preferred the popular playstyle depending on the patch, you found yourself at a disadvantage.
What was too strong changed from patch to patch. At the beginning, individual exotic weapons like the Vex Mythoclast, the Suros Regime, or the Thorn were “too strong”, later it was individual legendary weapons with exaggerated perk combinations. After Bungie nerfed that, the time of certain “archetypes” of legendary weapons came.
One of the first “super weapons” in Destiny. But not the last.
From Bungie’s perspective, the overall problem was that the PvP was too fast. Players found a way to eliminate opponents in minimal time with every patch.
Destiny 1: Tried various methods to slow down the PvP
Attempts to encourage players to rely on primary weapons and slow down the PvP repeatedly failed.
Bungie did everything possible over the years:
nerfed weapon types roughly
removed “super perk combinations”
limited ammunition,
fine-tuned certain weapon sub-types.
Nothing really helped.
Destiny 2: Now with a hammer
With Destiny 2, Bungie is now changing the weapon system so that players are forced to use primary weapons. The PvP is now significantly slower than the PvP in Destiny 1: Players can take more hits but deal less damage.
This also does not please everyone. The following is criticized:
that an individual can no longer make as much impact as in Destiny 1. A strong player in Destiny 1 could still eliminate three opponents at once; this is no longer possible in Destiny 2.
weaker players could now simply retreat from a fight because it takes too long to shoot them while fleeing.
and “team shots” would become increasingly important, meaning you need to shoot at an opponent with multiple players to eliminate them safely. The skill to aim quickly, shoot, and hit is now less important.
Overall, the PvP no longer feels fast but rather slow.
Other players, however, are pleased with the new balance and find it “more tactical.”
It seems that balance will continue to be a topic in Destiny 2 as well. Players are at least already making jokes about it. A good sign.
In this article, we will look at how the balance changes actually work:
A space mod takes you to the stars in GTA 5. We show you what to expect in Grand Theft “Space” and who you will meet up there.
What GTA 5 was missing: A mod that provides you with a spaceship to control activities in space. No wonder you’ll also encounter armed aliens up there – how else could it be?
Grand Theft (Auto) Space brings you four missions, aliens, and the chance to explore new planets.
GTA 5 space mod takes you high
This mod is the result of the work of a modding team around player sollaholla. The modification aims to provide new opportunities for the GTA community and finally enable flights to the stars.
In Grand Theft Space, you can expect four missions at release, as well as spaceships and moon vehicles. You can fight aliens and land on the surfaces of various planets. In the video, you can get an initial impression of this cool mod:

The Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl is active in World of Warcraft. A micro-holiday that could rival the Brewfest – if it weren’t bugged.
With all the crazy things happening in Azeroth, it can be a bit stressful. An invasion from the Legion, Old Gods rising, huge dragons, or family trying to keep you from your raid dinner. To simply unwind from everyday life, the mages of the Kirin Tor decided to use their magical powers for something other than fireballs or frostbolts: They teleport from tavern to tavern.
What sounds like the crazy dream of first-year students at a mage academy has now become reality in WoW. Those who want to participate today (31.07.2017) speak to the respective NPC in Dalaran and will be teleported to the current tavern.
Lots of alcohol, nothing of importance at the Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl
In the taverns, there’s plenty of beer and other alcoholic beverages to sample, food with useful buffs, and some costumes that last for a few hours. However, the event, like all micro-holidays, doesn’t have any really “permanent” benefits.
However, there is a problem: The phasing of the event is faulty. Clickable objects and other players disappear every few seconds, only to reappear moments later. It’s hard to get into the party mood when other guests keep disappearing.
Cortyn says: Honestly, I find this event less enjoyable than the previous dance party in the auction houses – even though that was much simpler. The different taverns feel barely different, and thanks to the very faulty phasing, there’s no real fun to be had. It’s understandable why this event was postponed in the past. However, it’s baffling to me why it went live in this bugged state now.
A 20-year-old man in the USA was stabbed seven times during a dispute while playing the trading card game Magic: The Gathering. The perpetrator called the police himself.
As reported by Fox9, a 31-year-old man was arrested in St. Cloud, Minnesota on Friday.
He allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old seven times. According to the police, the trigger for the violent act was an argument that broke out while both were playing the trading card game Magic The Gathering.
Discussion during Magic: The Gathering escalates
According to investigators, the two men were playing Magic when the argument escalated. A “discussion” escalated and led to the 31-year-old man hitting his opponent in the face with a rubber mallet and then stabbing him seven times.
The 20-year-old was admitted to a hospital, where his injuries to the neck and cheeks were treated. His condition is said to be “non-life-threatening.”
The 31-year-old man is currently in custody. He faces charges. He had called 911 himself and told the police he had stabbed a man in his apartment and that he was dying.
The police later searched the apartment of the 31-year-old because he had a previous conviction for possession of explosive materials. However, they found nothing in the apartment.
Exact reason for the dispute unclear
The reports do not clarify what the dispute was exactly about. The argument allegedly occurred during the Magic game.
Such news about Magic: The Gathering is thankfully the exception. Such incidents are likely more common in poker when money is involved.
With these Pokémon GO maps, you can find Pokémon in your area or nests of certain species.
One of the main tasks in Pokémon GO is to track down and catch wild Pokémon nearby. Initially, Niantic had a tracker that indicated how far you were from certain monsters using footprints. However, this system regularly caused server issues, which is why the developers replaced it with another mechanic. This new tracker does not work as some trainers would like.
Therefore, they resort to Pokémon GO maps, which show monsters in the area even if they haven’t been revealed in the game on the phone yet.
Pokémon GO Map: Live and through Trainer Entries
In the past, Pokémon trackers have been regularly banned by Niantic. The reason for this was the way these “helpers” operated, overwhelming the servers with their requests every second. After some of these trackers were banned, the developers had to provide players with new ways to discover Pokémon. It took some time for Niantic to meet the players’ demands. The new tracker now shows wild Pokémon in the game that are near the player or certain PokéStops. The latter narrows down the area of the monsters and gives trainers a chance to find these Pokémon more easily.
Many trainers are dissatisfied with this solution and are therefore looking for ways to search the wider area for Pokémon. With such Pokémon live maps, you can see what nests are in the neighboring city or other locations without having to travel there.
There are different types of maps for Pokémon GO:
Live maps, which display in real-time which Pokémon are at certain locations. This often happens through fake accounts that constantly scan specific areas and provide users of the live maps with this information.
Maps that show nests and Pokémon, which are entered manually by trainers. On these manual maps, trainers input the locations of the Pokémon they have caught.
Working Pokémon GO Maps for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
Niantic takes a hard stance on live maps and has previously demanded that operators cease their services. Consequently, the availability of Pokémon maps has diminished, and only a few services remain with which you can locate nests or wild monsters.
Pokémon GO Maps – Online / Browser
Overview Berlin – On Gomap.at
Gomap.at –Real-time Scanner – Popular among the Pokémon GO community is the Austrian website Gomap, which shows catch locations in Austria as well as locations in larger German cities. On the homepage, you select the appropriate country and then click on the corresponding region or city where you want to track down Pokémon. Here is the official website on Gomap.at
Pokehunter.co – Real-time scanner that allows specific locations to be scanned manually. A cooldown period must be waited between each scan. Here is the official website on Pokehunter.co
GymHuntr – New to the round is the website GymHuntr, which is very popular among trainers in the community. There, for example, legendary raids are displayed. This is GymHuntr
It is unclear how long these websites will continue to offer their services until Niantic prohibits them. Therefore, those who prefer maps based on trainer information can resort to the following maps:

The online shooter Destiny 2 is not out yet, but there are rumors about the first DLC. The internet believes it has identified a release date. But that would be very early for the PC players who start with a six-week delay.
The confirmed schedule for Destiny 2 looks like this:
The exclusive pre-order exotic Coldheart will be available on December 5 for everyone
A first DLC is said to come in “Winter”
A second DLC is expected to be released in “Spring”
The first DLC is rumored to be released simultaneously for PS4, Xbox One, and PC
The site Gamerant now says: Players were afraid that the first DLC for PC would come later than for PS4 and Xbox One, because the release is also later.
Bungie reportedly announced that this is not the case and the DLCs will be released simultaneously on all three platforms: PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Gamerant does not provide a source for this, but says that Bungie confirmed it.
The internet also has a guess as to when the first DLC might be released. The date for the first DLC in winter circulating is the December 5. Because that is the date when Coldheart is supposed to be accessible to everyone.
Additionally, the first DLC for Destiny 1, “The Dark Below” (darkness lurking), was released on December 9, 2014, and that would fit quite well.
It is important to note that there is also no confirmation from Bungie for this.
Destiny 2 and the PC delay: A strange situation in any case
The situation is strange because of the delayed PC release, regardless. There are three possibilities:
The DLC is released on December 5 for all three platforms: December 5 as a date for a first DLC would be perfectly fine for players on PS4 and Xbox One. They would have spent three months with the base game. For PC players, though, the DLC would come relatively early, only 6 weeks after the launch of Destiny 2.
The DLC comes for PC later than for PS4/Xbox One: If the first DLC for PC is released later than for PS4 and Xbox One, the problems that arise at launch will continue to linger. PC players will be left behind, playing content that has already been widely discussed in the media weeks earlier. A bit like watching Game of Thrones 4 weeks after the premiere.
The DLC comes later for everyone, possibly in February: If the DLC is delayed for all three platforms to February, it’s possible that console players will get bored and Destiny 2 will lose its momentum.
Bungie has already considered delaying the release for everyone, so that PC players are not left behind:
A particular Hearthstone card is about to be nerfed. Warlocks must say goodbye to their Doomguard!
In Hearthstone, there are a whole bunch of cards whose effect is only helpful in a very specific situation. One of these cards is the Warlock’s Doomguard. This 4-mana minion has weak stats of 1/1 but comes with an interesting deathrattle effect. When the Doomguard dies, a new Doomguard is summoned immediately.
The Doomguard alone was not a big threat, but it was certainly a thorn in the side of most opponents. This is because you could never truly get rid of it unless you silenced it or used mind control beforehand. As a result, the Warlock could continually sacrifice this minion or trade it many times against stronger minions as “small fries.”
Spell “Defile” is to blame for the nerf of the Doomguard
With the expansion “Knights of the Frozen Throne,” the Doomguard is being nerfed. Instead of summoning a new horse immediately, this will now only occur at the end of the turn. Therefore, the effect can only happen once per turn and Doomguard.
The new Warlock card Defile is to blame for this nerf. This spell deals 1 damage to all minions for 2 mana. If a minion should die as a result, this effect is repeated.
If you were to combine the current Doomguard with Defile, it would trigger a loop that not only guarantees to wipe all minions from the board but also lasts endlessly. Because when a Doomguard dies, it is summoned back – and then Defile strikes again and kills the horse once more. A vicious cycle that would go on indefinitely.
One good thing about it: With the nerf, players can disenchant their Doomguards and earn the full amount of Arcane Dust!
What do you think about this nerf? Do you think it’s good that the card is being changed to enable “Defile”? Or is this a bad solution to the problem?
The studio behind Mass Effect: Andromeda is no longer existing. The team has been relocated to a new place.
For those who have been following the development history of BioWare’s RPG Mass Effect: Andromeda, the following news may not come as a surprise. The studio behind the game, BioWare Montreal, has been dissolved and thus no longer exists. The employees have largely been integrated into the team at EA Motive, which is set to develop a new IP in the future.
The CFO Blake Jorgensen from EA stated: “We are building a new studio in Montreal, as we have already said. And we have hired more than 100 people for this, who are brand new to EA. With this, we want to produce the new IP that is being created around Jade Raymond’s team. We have integrated the former team of BioWare Montreal into the same building.”
Thus, there are now only two BioWare studios left, namely BioWare Edmonton (Dragon Age 4, Anthem) and BioWare Austin (SWTOR).
DLCs for Andromeda are now virtually excluded
Mass Effect: Andromeda was eagerly awaited by fans but could not meet the high expectations. The “open world” of the planets was too monotonous for many, and despite numerous side missions, they felt more like something to “grind through” rather than genuinely enjoyable.
Moreover, many story arcs were not fully concluded, which left many players with a sense of an “unfinished” story that resembled popcorn cinema more than a good BioWare story.
To add to that, there were numerous issues, such as the botched facial animations, which brought additional ridicule to the RPG. Just think back to the “My face is tired” meme that circulated through the forums for a long time.
This also clarifies the question of potential story DLCs for Andromeda. They have become even less likely.
