In FIFA 18 Ultimate Team (FUT 18), the most important innovations are known. All information in overview.
On August 1, EA Sports revealed the new features that FIFA fans can look forward to in the “Ultimate Team” mode of FIFA 18. While the predecessor FUT 17 introduced Squad-Building Challenges and FUT Champions, FUT 18 builds on this foundation and delivers some surprises of its own.
FUT 18 – What is new?
EA Sports mentions several innovations – primarily the ICONS.
The biggest innovation that EA Sports promotes are the Icons. Until now, these cards were called “Legends” and were only available on Xbox. In FUT 18, the special cards of former top players come to PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch in addition to Xbox.
What’s interesting about the ICONS Stories: Each icon has three cards with different overall ratings that reflect the various phases of the players’ careers. All information about Icons in FUT 18 has been summarized in the link. You will also find the first icon ratings there.

In FIFA 17, the “Walkouts” were introduced. When you pack a particularly good player from a set, an animation loads where not only the card but also the player’s full form is visible.
In FIFA 18, there will be new walkouts as well as individual walkouts for special players, such as Cristiano Ronaldo or Griezmann:

In FUT 18, you can complete daily and weekly objectives. This can be done directly in FIFA 18 or via the new Companion app. There will be various objectives, such as team management objectives or in-match objectives.
The more difficult the challenge, the greater the rewards.
Such objectives are not completely new in FUT. In the last FUT years, there were “tutorials” in which you had to complete a few tasks. For that, there was a pack. However, these tutorials were once-only “objectives” – in FUT 18, in addition to starter objectives, there are also daily and weekly ones.
New Squad Building Challenges
In Squad Building Challenges, you create teams with specific requirements using your cards and exchange them irrevocably for rewards. In FUT 18, there will be more variety here.
There are “Combined Player Requirements” and “Brick Slots.” In the latter, certain positions must meet specified requirements:
More information about FUT 18:
There will be a “Champions Channel”: This will allow you to watch replays of “Weekend League” matches from the best players in the world. You can choose camera settings and analyze their play styles.
There will be more jerseys designed by community stars, soundtrack artists, and others.
The Companion app and web app will be revamped. This will allow you to master objectives and Squad Building Challenges – and of course also be active in the transfer market and manage your team.
The Ones to Watch will return in FUT 18. So far, 5 players are known: Lukaku, Lacazette, James Rodriguez, Bonucci, and Douglas Costa.
FIFA 18 will be released on September 29 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC and in a streamlined version on Nintendo Switch, PS3, and Xbox 360.
In FIFA 18 Ultimate Team, FUT Icons arrive, the new legends, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. These have “ICONS Stories”. All info with first cards and ratings. ICONS list.
FUT 18 – ICONS Stories – Various cards for the icons
There will be three cards for each of the icons with different ratings, reflecting different phases in their careers. An example: Maradona has an overall rating of 91 for the year 1982, a whopping 97 for the year 1986, and a rating of 95 for the year 1989.
The different Icon cards each have their own images and can also have different positions.
Two card versions of the icons will be available directly at the launch of FIFA 18 in the packs. The third version will be available at certain times during the season. This is the “Prime ICON Version”, which is the best icon version that you can then obtain through SBCs and limited-time packs.
Ratings and overall ratings of Pelé, Ronaldinho, and others – List
Since FIFA 14, the legends have been firmly part of the FUT mode of the FIFA series – however, only on Xbox. A marketing deal between Microsoft and EA brought the “Legends” exclusively to Microsoft consoles, leaving all other FIFA players empty-handed.
This changes with FIFA 18. Now there is a marketing deal between EA and Sony. These changes to the legends were announced:
The legends are now called icons – the “FUT ICONS”.
The icons will be introduced in FUT 18 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch
In other words: Icons are not coming for PS3 and Xbox 360.
In the past, the exclusivity of the legends has repeatedly sparked intense discussions in the FIFA community. Many fans will therefore welcome that icons will finally be available on PlayStation 4 and PC in addition to Xbox One.
FUT Icons in FIFA 18 – Around Ronaldo Nazário
With the Icon cards, EA Sports brings back well-known star footballers to the virtual field, who have shown outstanding performances in the past and left lasting impressions on the stage of world football. Meanwhile, these players are no longer active as professionals. The legends from FIFA 17 can be found here, including Pelé, Beckenbauer, and Lehmann.
According to EA Sports, the FUT Icons in FIFA 18 are “the best of the best”.
The former Brazilian striker Ronaldo (Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima) was revealed as the first icon. EA Sports stated:
Explosive pace, outstanding finish, and incredible skills. The legendary Brazilian striker and two-time world champion Ronaldo leads the FUT ICONS.
FIFA 18 – own ICON edition
For FIFA 18, there is a special edition around Ronaldo Nazário: The Icon Edition. This is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC only digitally. It costs €99.99 on consoles and €89.99 on PC.
All contents of this edition as well as the other editions of FIFA 18 are presented here:
In Destiny, the Iron Banner is starting today, on August 1st, 2017. This is the last Iron Banner in the history of Destiny 1. All information.
The whistle has just sounded for the last Iron Banner in Destiny 1.
Since August 1st at 7 PM, you can play the monthly PvP event one last time, held in honor of the Iron Lords. It lasts for a week and ends on August 8th at 11 AM. Then the Iron Banner era in Destiny 1 will be over.
Normally, Bungie announces about a week before the start of an Iron Banner what rewards will be available. This time, the developers skipped this and only announced the mode: The last Iron Banner will be played in Control mode.
Meanwhile, the rewards are known. Lord Efrideet has these items:
The Iron Banner event significantly shaped the past three years of Destiny and was the monthly highlight for many PvP fans. In fact, the first Iron Banner took place two months before the actual launch of the MMO shooter. Here is a brief chronological summary:
Mid-July 2014: During the Destiny beta, the Iron Banner was live for a short time. It has existed since the beta.
August 2016: The Iron Banner underwent some changes. After the launch of “Rise of Iron”, it was no longer Lord Saladin in the Tower responsible for the PvP event, but Lord Efrideet on Felwinter Peak. After a short break, the first Iron Banner in “The Rise of the Iron Lords” on October 4th. It has since only taken place on PS4 and Xbox One, the hardening mechanic was removed, and the reward system was revised.
May 2017: In the past, only the “standard” modes were played in the Iron Banner, such as Control, Clash, Domination, or Rift. In May 2017, for the first time a Crucible mode was active: Crucible: Clash. This mode repeated itself in July 2017.
August 1st, 2017: The last Iron Banner started.
Over the years, the Iron Banner received various weapons and armor pieces, with some weapons standing out in the crucible. The most rewarding Iron Banner events were:
the one in February 2015, when Lord Saladin brought a overpowered shotgun with excellent perks: The Felwinter’s Lie
the one in November 2016, when Lord Efrideet first brought the clever dragon (Pulse Rifle), which dominated PvP for months alongside the Matador.
Many guardians still have their collections of Iron Banner weapons and armor pieces in the vault. Because each one carries numerous memories.
Are you attending the last Iron Banner in Destiny 1 – for old times’ sake?

Mounts especially important in Guild Wars 2 Path of Fire
Players should not see the mounts as “simple riding animals” but as companions that reveal new movement opportunities. With them, you can jump over chasms, scale high cliffs, and glide over quicksand. Mounts in Guild Wars 2 will be part of the mastery system, an additional horizontal progression.
The first mount is the Raptor, which can jump particularly far.
The Skimmer is a type of “mutant rabbit.” It has a jump that it can charge to jump particularly high.
The Jackal is a magical creature that can teleport over short distances.
Elite Specializations
The elite specializations are new variants of the known heroes and find new ways to bring new facets to the familiar heroes.
The Guardian will gain a fire specialization. He becomes the Revolutionary and draws his knowledge from ancient tomes. He fights with an axe and has knowledge of ancient secrets. He adds supportive abilities to the Guardian.
The Necromancer becomes the Plaguebringer. He finds a new approach to necromancy in the desert. He focuses on battlefield control and wields a torch.
The Thief becomes the Sharpshooter. With a rifle, he has enormous range.
The Mesmer becomes the Illusionist. They can let attacks pass through them.

The Warrior becomes the Bannerman. He can block powerful spells and shield opponents from their magical powers.
The Elementalist becomes the Weaver. They shift through the elements and create new elements from them. Their weapon is a sword that they empower with the power of the elements.
Rangers will become the Soulbinder with “Path of Fire”. A dagger serves as their primary weapon. They cripple their opponents and have a close bond with their animal companion.
The Revenant becomes the Renegade. He specializes in ambushing opponents.
The Holosmith is the new elite specialization of the Engineer. He relies on many different holographic weapons. In combat, they generate heat. If they stay in this state too long, they explode.
A lot of information that we will surely chew on in the coming weeks.
The expansion is supposed to “return to the roots,” as ArenaNet emphasizes again and again. We are curious if they will succeed and are happy that we were right. The expansion is indeed coming in September 2017. Sometimes there is something to these “leaks of estimated release dates” from traders.
Since yesterday, the reboot of The Secret World is available on Steam. Secret World Legends is the re-release of the horror MMORPG by Funcom and seems to be receiving better feedback with its new model than the original title.
The Secret World was – or rather is, as it can still be played – an exceptional MMO.
It was the first MMORPG with such a dark, almost nihilistic atmosphere, and also the first MMORPG that completely embraced Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos as its foundation. With the re-release, which has been available on Steam as “Secret World Legends” since July 31, new players are now to be attracted.

The reviews in this short time are clear: very positive. At the time of writing this article, there are 3,306 positive and 790 negative ratings.
But what exactly do people find especially good or especially bad?
In most positive reviews, it was praised that:
the game has become easier. The old combat and skill system was too confusing, the new system is significantly easier to understand, and there is better guidance.
Story and content are very well designed. In particular, the eerie horror setting, the incorporation of secret societies, and the proximity to reality, such as references to current series or the use of Google, are appreciated.
the quests have been innovatively designed. Especially the investigations that require research in the real world excite many players.
One of the skill wheels from The Secret World.
Particularly frequently mentioned in negative reviews was that:
the free-to-play model is poor. Many people who do not recommend the game do so because progress in the higher levels requires money or an extreme amount of time.
Freedoms have been sacrificed for simplicity. Some players wish for the system that gave players freedom over their character and no restrictions to ease the entry.
there have been no or hardly any innovations.
There was also an in-game shop in The Secret World.
How heavily the individual points weigh is a matter of personal attitude, which is why some of the mentioned positive or negative points can also be found in the respective other category.

The mysterious 2nd expansion for Guild Wars 2 will be introduced today in a live stream. Join us live here this evening.
The unveiling of the second major addon for Guild Wars 2 has not been smooth for ArenaNet. Due to massive leaks, much content from the new Guild Wars 2 expansion was revealed months ago, such as the return to the Crystal Desert and the oriental region of Vabbi in Elona. It is also now known that players will finally get mounts with their own skills.
Nevertheless, ArenaNet has remained tight-lipped so far and has not revealed the release date or the name of the new expansion. But that should change soon!

As a Raid Boss, the new legendary Pokémon Moltres is easy to defeat. Groups with fewer than five players have already defeated the Pokémon GO boss.
Since today (August 1st), you can find Moltres in Pokémon GO. It is a legendary monster and belongs to the bird trio, which is completed by Articuno and Zapdos. All three legendary birds will initially be released in Pokémon GO one after the other.
As trainers have already found out, Moltres is not difficult to defeat as an opponent. However, the choice of attackers plays an important role.
Moltres: Many Counter Options
The legendary fire bird Moltres has many possible counter Pokémon that can quickly take it down. Many trainers already have a Golem with rock attacks, while others have Tyranitar with “Stone Edge”. These monsters are well-suited as attackers.
Many players have already suspected that the fight against Moltres would be much easier than against Articuno. The weak defensive stats of the Pokémon support this assumption.
Source PokémonGOHub
On social media trainers report how easy the fight against Moltres has been for them. On Reddit , user Bigdaddycain89 writes that he and his trainer group defeated the fire bird in a trio. They used Golem and Tyranitar as attackers.
Source Bigdaddycain89
Our readers also report to us on Mein-MMO.de and our Pokémon Facebook page that the battles against the raid boss are anything but difficult.
Is it “good” or “bad”?
Here, opinions among players are divided. While some complain that the fight was far too easy for them, other trainers are happy that many have a chance at the Pokémon.
We believe that Niantic has found a good balance here. While the fight is not extraordinarily difficult, you won’t just “get” the Pokémon either. This way, everyone has a chance at this legendary Pokémon if they communicate and attack in groups.

Every month, online gamers on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita eagerly look forward to which games they will receive from Sony this time. The games are often very controversial in the community, as they can never meet the tastes of all players.
Patch 7.3 for WoW brings a new dungeon. Here is the video preview for the Seat of the Triumvirate!
The next update for World of Warcraft: Legion is packed with plenty of fresh content for players. In addition to the planet Argus, which represents a new zone and the (presumably last) raid of the expansion “Antorus, the Burning Throne”, there is also a new dungeon for 5 players to explore: the Seat of the Triumvirate.
This instance takes place on the shattered islands of Argus, offering a beautiful view of both Argus and Azeroth. Void energy haunts these islands, and players are accompanied by Alleria Windrunner to uncover some secrets.
You can watch the complete instance in the preview video from the YouTubers of FatbossTV.

Zuraal the Ascended is the first boss and a mix of Draenei and Void creature. He creates many void zones that players must quickly escape from. The approaching adds must be killed quickly as they explode for a lot of damage upon reaching the boss. Occasionally, a player will be banished to the Void realm, where they must kill 10 enemies to return to the main plane. This stuns the boss and causes him to take a lot of damage for a short time.
Saprish is the second boss, an Astral being and clearly a hunter, as he has 2 pets with which he shares a health pool. He lays many traps on the ground that players should avoid. The bat casts a spell that must be interrupted each time, otherwise the entire group becomes disoriented (and runs into the traps). Players should move away from the panther as soon as it uses its split ability – a void effect on the ground indicates this.
The third boss Viceroy Nezhar is a DPS check, as the time for the fight is limited. Void energy surrounds the battlefield, closing in on the players until they are ultimately consumed. The boss must be killed by then. His fear should be interrupted, and the summoned adds dealt with in time, as they reduce healing received or even make the boss immune to damage.
The fourth and final boss is L’ura. Here too, there is a race against time, as the boss deals area damage to the entire group every few seconds. Each time this happens, the damage dealt by L’ura increases by 5% – which eventually leads to the guaranteed death of the group. Emerging adds must be killed and slowly flying void comets must be caught. And of course, no one should stand in the large dark void zone for too long.
What do you think of the look and the fights of the new dungeon “Seat of the Triumvirate”?
For almost 20 years, Manfred has plundered gold and items in games through hacks.
With MMORPGs and other online games, a lot of money can be made. So far, so known. This applies not only to the developers but also to clever hackers. GameStar and Motherboard report on a hacker with the alias “Manfred” who has been living off selling in-game items to other players for over 20 years.
The difference to the ordinary “China farmer”: Manfred has managed to steal all possessions. For two decades, he has searched for security vulnerabilities and bugs in games to duplicate gold and items.
Everything began back then with Ultima Online in 1997. Properties were a limited and sought-after commodity. Manfred found an error in the code that allowed him to take properties from other players and override them to himself. He sold one of these buildings as a trial – and received nearly $2,000. He reportedly did this almost 100 times and funded his college with it.
But even newer games are not safe from him. In a presentation, he showed recordings of how he created an impressive sum of 18 quadrillion coins in the MMORPG WildStar with just a few maneuvers (an 18 followed by 24 zeros).
This translates into a real value of a staggering 400 trillion dollars. The only limitation here is the purchasing power of the players who would buy gold (or in the case of WildStar: platinum) from him.
The trick with all the hacks was to remain as inconspicuous as possible. He never intended to beat other players or to blow the whistle on the whole thing. If he could operate unnoticed and undetected by the developers, his business ran. Therefore, it was also important for him to keep his methods confidential.
Now, however, “Manfred” has had enough. According to his own statements, the reason is that the business model of developers has changed. In the past, developers sold games and perhaps a subscription fee, today they sell in-game items themselves.
This puts him in direct competition with the developers and their business model, and he “doesn’t feel comfortable” with what he was doing. With his skills, he is – not surprisingly – now part of a security firm. Since he knows the loopholes, he is probably well placed here.
What do you think of this story? A different idea to finance a living? Or should something like this be harshly punished? Let us know in the comments.
The online shooter Destiny 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One) has received a “T for Teen” rating from the relevant US authorities. However, the description does not sound entirely violence-free.
Destiny is supposed to be a game for the “whole family”. Bungie established this during the initial presentation. Even a seven-year-old should be able to play Destiny with their father.
This was a particular matter for Bungie because the studio’s major successes, the Halo titles, had a “M for Mature” rating, implying they were suitable for ages 17 and up.
It is thanks to this “T” rating (for ages 13 and up) that the universe of Destiny handles violence quite loosely, but takes a step back on other matters. There is no alcohol or drugs in Destiny. Swearing is also absent. And God forbid there is any mention of sex.
Now, the assessment for Destiny 2 was due, and the relevant US authority, ESRB, decided: Destiny 2 is suitable for T for Teens, ages 13 and up.
Electrocutions are okay, as long as no one swears!
The description does not sound all that lenient. It states:
“Players use pistols, machine guns, rocket launchers, and various elemental weapons (e.g., flaming swords, electric staffs) to kill their opponents. The battles are intense and accompanied by realistic combat sounds and large explosions.
Cutscenes sometimes show dramatic battles between spacecraft and how characters are shot, electrified, or choked. Blood splatters appear on the screen when players are injured, and some creatures explode in a black liquid when killed.”
The best part comes at the end. “The word A*hole can be heard in a dialogue.”
Thus, ESRB evaluates: Violence can be plentiful. As long as no one smokes, nobody says A*hole, and God forbid there is any sex shown!
In Germany, Destiny 2 is expected to receive a rating of 16 from the USK, just like its predecessor.
The Archbishop Benedictus is causing heated discussions in Hearthstone . But how good is the new Priest Legendary?
The next expansion of Hearthstone, Knights of the Frozen Throne or in German “Ritter des Frostthrons”, is only a few weeks away from release. Every day, the developers, in collaboration with streamers and fan sites, present new cards.
Recently, the Priest Legendary Archbishop Benedictus was revealed, and we want to talk a bit about him.
For 7 mana, Archbishop Benedictus is a minion that fits more into the mid to late game. The stats of 4/6 are not outstanding but understandable given his powerful Battlecry: Shuffle a copy of your opponent’s deck into your own deck.
Story-wise, the Archbishop has little to do with the Lich King or the Frozen Throne, as he is actually a servant of Deathwing and thus a follower of the Old Gods. For many years, he was the leader of the Light’s Faith in Stormwind, but in reality, he betrayed his people and revealed himself as the “Twilight Father” with Deathwing’s attack. However, thematically, this seems to fit well since Anduin in his “Death Knight form” looks more like a creature of the Void than a true servant of the Lich King.
How useful is Archbishop Benedictus?
The usefulness of the Archbishop can be debated for a long time. The fact is that the Archbishop can create a huge card advantage if played in time. On turn 7, most players will still have between 18 and 22 cards in their deck, meaning that their own card pool will grow to about 40 cards. A loss due to lack of cards seems thus excluded.
However, the Archbishop also has a negative effect. With each additional card in the deck, the chance that your deck strategy works decreases dramatically. It’s incredibly difficult to create a deck that works against every opponent’s deck. If you play the Bishop at the wrong time, you’ll draw a lot of cards that may help a Quest Rogue but bring the Priest closer to annihilation.
A nice gimmick for “Fun” players
Most professionals can only imagine a few very specific scenarios where the Archbishop has a truly game-changing benefit. Sure, against a “Fatigue” deck that aims to annihilate all cards, doubling your own card pool can offer a significant advantage. However, the actual purpose of this card seems much simpler and not necessarily aimed at the pro scene: fun.
Because if you think a little about what this card actually allows, especially Free2Play players and those with a smaller card pool should be excited. The Archbishop is rarely about making a game-changing move, but rather something else: Testing new cards that you don’t own.
Anyone who has the Archbishop in their collection gains a powerful weapon to simply try out all the cards of the current meta. With just one minion, you can access all those annoying cards of a Tank Warrior, a Miracle Rogue, or a Quest Mage. The Priest has the chance to play all those cards himself and get a feel for them.
In conclusion, it can be said that the Archbishop is one of those “Fun” cards that may not find its own niche in the meta, but will surely find a place in the hearts of players who just want to play for fun.
What do you think of Archbishop Benedictus? A great card that you will definitely play? Or useless junk that Hearthstone doesn’t need?
Secret World Legends, the remake of the mystery MMO “The Secret World” does not completely reinvent the old game, but makes some changes and ensures greater accessibility. Therefore, after many years, Jürgen has once again engaged with the horror MMO. Just in time for the Steam launch, our preview test appears.
The Secret World was for me back in 2013 a typical Funcom game: A game whose idea I really loved and wanted to enjoy. But I sadly couldn’t enjoy it because it was just too clunky, bug-ridden, and inaccessible.
Similar to the former Age of Conan, TSW eventually annoyed me, and I sought another game that suited me better.
I actually found the atmosphere, the setting, and the story of The Secret World really good. Only the game behind it unfortunately did not appeal to me.
That’s why I often wished that Funcom had made TSW a bit more accessible and dynamic back then. Otherwise, something would have developed between us. And lo and behold, Funcom actually fulfilled my wish and released The Secret World in a way that I enjoy again!
The Secret World Legends – The possibly longest tutorial in the world!
However, the new Secret World starts anything but well. If you played the original back then, you surely remember the endlessly long introduction sequence. Your character sleeps, a bee flies into their mouth, and they develop superpowers. Eventually, someone comes and takes you to your secret organization.
In the tutorial, there is briefly a giant boss.
On the way there, you can do various tutorials and wander aimlessly in London, New York, or Seoul for a long time. There are even more tutorials. And as if that wasn’t enough tutorials, Secret World Legends adds one more, namely right before the other introductions, in the middle of the intro cutscene after swallowing the bee.
I hate tutorials, and the longer I have to be lectured like an idiot about how to walk straight or switch weapons, the less I feel like playing. And SWL really exaggerates here.
After all the tutorial nonsense, I was completely bored, and then suddenly the sound was missing in the cutscenes.
So I had to reload the drivers outside of the game, great! That’s why I was already on the verge of deleting Secret World Legends and instead playing a few rounds of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
The Secret World Legends – It’s worth sticking it out
Fortunately, I remained stubborn and wanted to at least try the first region again before the game would be uninstalled and give way to boundless battle royale fun. And what can I say? After just a few minutes, I was back into the “Secret World”.
This boss strongly resembles a certain creature that should actually be sleeping.
Because as soon as you have gotten through the annoying tutorials, you head to New England, to a remote island called “Solomons Island”.
This region seems to have emerged from a collaboration between Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft, as it is filled with creepy and mysterious references to horror classics.
The Secret World Legends – The Lovecraft MMO
At first, however, one suspects nothing of this. Instead, the island seems to have become a victim of a generic zombie apocalypse. But soon it becomes clear that much more lies behind the whole misfortune, and one dives deep into the history of Solomons Island and learns about the gruesome past of the area.
Thus, I soon find out that the zombie curse is likely linked to an eerie fog and that a horde of creepy sea monsters has taken over the harbor. Those familiar with the horrifying stories about gruesome creatures from the depths from Lovecraft’s works will immediately spot the parallels.
The Secret World Legends – The forest scares me!
All of this is emphasized when one pays attention to the many hidden details in the game. For example, a street in the town is called Kingsmouth (that alone is already a reference to the creepy place Innsmouth from the Lovecraft work), “Lovecraft Lane”, and a bay is named “Dagon Bay”. Later, we come across a dark forest called “Black Goat Woods”.
In the “Black Goat Woods”, there are thankfully “only” disgusting insect monsters!
Just reading this name gives me chills as a connoisseur of the Cthulhu mythos.
I was glad that in the woods “only” revolting giant insects lived and not the eponymous black goat with a thousand young …
At the Innsmouth Academy, all hell is literally breaking loose!
Later I arrive at a university called “Innsmouth Academy”.
In this “Anti-Hogwarts”, young people learned black magic, and since most teachers fell victim to the zombies, various summoned evils roam the campus and wander through the blood-spattered corridors. And I don’t even want to get started on the extremely disturbing horror amusement park in the heart of the island…
The Secret World Legends – It hardly gets more atmospheric
No matter where I go, more creepy details come to light everywhere, building a truly close and extremely immersive atmosphere in harmony with the excellent soundtrack.
There are more mysteries to discover everywhere, especially in the research quests. I solve these tasks not with gun and sword, but with intellect. And whoever at Funcom was responsible for the design of these tasks could also publish the next Dan Brown novel as a ghostwriter.
Quirky characters, like the somewhat morbid principal of the Innsmouth Academy, you will find constantly in SWL.
The puzzles are really challenging and expect you to solve complex number puzzles, effectively apply your knowledge of musical notes, or correctly apply verses from the Bible to the game world based on obscure hints.
So, can you figure out the solution to the riddle?
In a particularly lengthy quest series, you follow the trail of a mad demonologist, whose Latin incantations you must transfer into bizarre demon glyphs.
Again and again, you find in the game world also websites, email addresses, and YouTube links that you actually have to look up in the real world to solve puzzles.
Some quests require research in the “real” world. If you enter this blog address, you will actually find information about the NPC Sam Krieg.
For example, when you determine the construction instructions for a transmission tower based on the serial number found in the game on the homepage of the (fictional) manufacturing company. One almost gets the feeling that it’s not just a game, but somehow “real”.
You constantly encounter creepy myths, like here “Jack O’Lantern”.
There’s just an extreme amount of passion in the quest design of Secret World Legends, and once you’re caught up in the mysterious “secret world”, you can hardly escape.
The Secret World Legends – Combat System – still not good, but better
Well, all the great quests and fantastic atmosphere were already present in the original TSW. But due to the really horrible combat system, the rest of the game – at least for me – was just no fun. This was mainly due to the unnecessarily complicated and clunky combat system. I had never been less inclined to engage in a fight than I was in TSW back then.
No matter how I distributed my points, nothing useful ever came of it, and every fight was boring and yet often deadly. Especially solo instances were hardly manageable for me, and at some point, it became too silly for me back then, and I didn’t want to play anymore.
With the assault rifle, you now also shoot grenades.
Meanwhile, I am much further into the game and actually have a bit of enjoyment with the gameplay. Funcom has significantly revised the combat system and made it overall smoother and more dynamic. Each weapon now has clearly defined special abilities. For example, the assault rifle can shoot special grenades, while my shotgun, as a secondary weapon, randomly shoots shells that sometimes ignite the enemy and sometimes heal me.
Of course, the combat system is still not good. So whoever is spoiled by TERA or Black Desert Online will still often sit yawning in front of the screen. But the new combat system of SWL is fast and dynamic enough to take you through the instances without boredom. So you can quickly dive back into new, much more exciting quest stories. A clear improvement!
Jürgen’s conclusion – You have to experience it!
I was initially extremely skeptical about whether I should get involved with The Secret World again. The old version had scared me off too much back then.
But just a few minutes into the game rekindled my passion, and now I play SWL almost daily when I’m not urgently trying out other MMOs for work.
Latin knowledge is never wrong in SWL.
A fascination for an MMO like this has not been elicited from me by a game in a long time. I therefore hope that as many players as possible will engage with Secret World Legends again and give the game a chance at success. SWL definitely deserves it! And since it is now playable for free as a Free2Play title, there’s really no excuse not to take a look at the game!
The lead designer of Anthem, Corey Gaspur, has died. BioWare is mourning an important colleague and good friend.
For BioWare and all fans of the game studio, it is a sad day, as the lead designer of Anthem, Corey Gaspur, has passed away. This was announced by BioWare yesterday evening (31.07.2017) in a brief blog post on their website.
Most players will likely have worked on something during their gaming careers to which Corey Gaspur contributed significantly. He worked at BioWare since 2006.
Games he was significantly involved in include:
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood
Dragon Age: Origins
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 3
Additionally, there are numerous DLCs for the above-mentioned titles.
Just a few weeks ago, Corey Gaspur welcomed his former “mentor” Casey Hudson back at BioWare as General Manager. He also expressed his grief, stating that they “have lost a member of the BioWare family. Corey Gaspur was an impressive designer and friend.”

The selective multiplayer RPG Shroud of the Avatar has found a partner for the release in Germany and other parts of the world. The game is slowly headed towards its release.
The developer of Shroud of the Avatar, Portalarium, is based in Austin, Texas. They have partnered with the Munich-based publisher and game developer Travian Games to release Shroud of the Avatar in Europe, South America, Central America, the Middle East, and North Africa.
Austin, Texas meets Munich, Bavaria – Travian Games is the partner for EU release
In a press release, representatives of both companies express how well they fit together and how much their visions align.
The mastermind behind SOTA, Richard Garriott, states: Europe has always been a strong market for the games of the Ultima series; therefore, we are excited to have found such a great partner who truly understands where we want to go with Shroud.
Travian Games is known for the game “Travian” and is also responsible for the distribution of the new indie MMORPG “Crowfall”.
Free trial program in August – release later this year
Those curious about what to expect in Shroud of the Avatar can participate in a Free2Play trial from August 9th to August 30th.
August and September are the big promotional months for the RPG: There are scheduled dates for various fairs, and they plan to appear at Gamescom as well. Lord British will appear himself.
It’s great to note that Release 45 will be on August 31st. With the patch, players will have the opportunity to reset their story and play through the now completed main quest fresh, without having to create a new character.
With Patch 44, which is now released, Shroud of the Avatar considers itself as “Story Complete.” The “full commercial launch” of Shroud of the Avatar is planned for later in 2017.
The story of the Lich King pressed into a rap. Ben Brode delights the Hearthstone community and gives you “something to listen to”.
If you were to ask the fans who is the most charismatic face of Blizzard, then without a doubt the Game Director of Hearthstone, Ben Brode, would be at the top of the list. This is not only because he always seems to be in a good mood, but also due to the enthusiasm he brings to his work that is unmatched.
When Hearthstone players were disappointed that there was no song for the new cinematic in the Un’Goro expansion, Ben Brode took it upon himself and crafted a rap in his own home. The fans celebrated this so much that he is now back with “Knights of the Frozen Throne” and once again sings a little tune.
Ben Brode as the rapping storyteller of Hearthstone
This time, Brode turns to the main antagonist of the expansion and tells the story of Arthas Menethil and how he ultimately became the Lich King.

Although Brode had to pack the story of the fallen prince into a rhyming rap, he does not leave out any details and narrates all the small and larger twists. This starts with the outbreak of the plague in Lordaeron, continues with the attack in Hearthglen, the cleansing of Stratholme, and ultimately the journey to Northrend.
Or to put it in the words of professional player Kripparian: “Ben Brode was made by God to sell Blizzard Hearthstone expansions.” Looking at this enthusiasm for his projects and fans… we can only agree.
How do you like this video? Is it cool that the Game Director of a game releases such videos? Or is he “making a fool of himself” and devaluing the whole game?
Cortyn says: I don’t think I’ve ever seen a developer who is so enthusiastic about their own game and who you can actually believe it. While many developers (even at Blizzard) often seem like they have been briefed by marketing on what and how they are allowed to say, Ben Brode is always a blast of energy. By now, I even hope that upcoming expansions won’t get their own song, just so Brode can grab the microphone again.
By the way, a card is getting heavily nerfed in “Knights of the Frozen Throne” – the Warlock’s Dreadsteed!

Does the Twitch chat know better? “Twitch plays PUBG” is one of the best and funniest ideas at the same time. In the video, you can see what the adventure looks like and why the chat sometimes gets it “almost” all right.
When watching the PUBG streams, you often read comments in the chat like “You should have done X and Y …” or “This was never going to work, you went completely wrong.”.
Whether these comments make sense is currently being explored by an interesting project. “Twitch Plays Battlegrounds” gives the chat control over the character. Running, jumping, and shooting are controlled by a chaotic chat.
It sounds like the project is doomed to fail. However, the success speaks for itself.
Impressive third place for the Twitch chat!
The viewers of Twitch.TV have the opportunity to collectively control a PUBG character on the Twitchplaysbattlegrounds channel . Almost in real-time, the bot takes commands from the viewers and implements them in the game. Viewers control the shooting, the camera, the movements, and much more.
However, hundreds of viewers do this simultaneously – can that go well?
On the channel, it says: “The thoughts behind this Twitch channel are curiosity, collaboration, and patience. The command list is regularly updated to improve quality.” So far, there are the following commands that you can use as a viewer:
When hundreds of players in the chat try to enforce their plan simultaneously, it can easily end in chaos. Hence, it is all the more remarkable when real successes are achieved. Here you see the first kill of the crazy PUBG project:

Afterwards, the match with the Twitch chat ended in 3rd place –An astonishing result for the project.
Even if at least one of the two kills looks like it was a gift from seasoned players. Such actions are just part of such a project and should not dampen the fun for the viewers.
On the contrary, the stream is really entertaining. It is fun to watch the bot and control it with your own commands. Admittedly, the death in the match wasn’t a spectacle.

Guild Wars 2 – Preparations for the Addon
Guild Wars 2 has recently received the final episode of the third season. That’s already a reason to play ArenaNet’s online role-playing game in August. The last episode of the current season takes you to Orr, the ruined region in the southwest of the current map.
There, the undead dragon Zhaitan was once born, and from there he led his undead against the rest of Tyria.
Guild Wars 2 – Next Stop – Elona Addon!
In Orr, you will learn the new mastery of the lamentation song and seek the power of the gods to defeat your new arch-enemy. This should not be mentioned here yet; after all, not all of you have completed the previous episodes, and the secret should not be spoiled.
In any case, the events at the end of the last episode lead directly to the next addon of Guild Wars 2. This will take place in the Crystal Desert and the Principality of Vabbi. This has been known since the massive leak about the next addon of Guild Wars 2 a few months ago.

As the date for the next addon of Guild Wars 2 will soon be announced, August is particularly suitable for completing all episodes and getting your hero ready for the expansion. After all, the addon should be released soon.
Are you looking for more trainers for legendary and regular raids in Pokémon GO? If you ask the right way, you can gather many players.
The raids in Pokémon GO were introduced as a cooperative gameplay feature and bring many trainers around the world together in groups. At least that’s the plan. Difficult raids, where you have to defeat tough opponents like Snorlax, often require multiple trainers as attackers.
That’s why trainers arrange to catch together via social networks. This often works well and helps many players with the raids. We show you what you should pay attention to.
Pokémon GO Facebook Groups, Whatsapp Groups
Social networks like Facebook or Whatsapp are well-suited to find more trainers for raids and other Pokémon GO adventures. There are often specific Pokémon groups for various cities and villages. This is not only the case in larger cities like Berlin but also applies to smaller places with fewer residents.
The same applies to Whatsapp groups. Even in the messenger for smartphones, trainers regularly form groups to exchange current news and raids. This is quick and uncomplicated.
Joining such a group significantly increases your chances of finding other players for your Pokémon adventures. The best thing to do is to join a large Pokémon GO Facebook group and ask other trainers about specific local or city groups.
In our Facebook group, we now have many thousands of members from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. There, the chance of meeting other members from your areas is high. Here you can find our Facebook group: Pokémon GO German Group from Mein-MMO.de – feel free to invite your friends as well.
How to Ask for a Raid and Find Players – Here’s How
If you are in large Pokémon GO groups on social networks, the right phrasing is important. Ask specifically for a certain raid not like this:
“Does anyone want to look for a raid this afternoon?”
“I would like to raid, who is in?”
Instead, it would be better to say: Choose one or more raids, maybe even make a plan, and then ask:
“I will be at the raid at the old blacksmith in Place X from 3:40 PM. Does anyone want to join the fight?”
It’s even better if you’re with a group of at least two players. This increases the motivation of the other trainers because the chances of victory rise.
“We are two today from 3:40 PM at the raid at the old blacksmith in Place X. Afterwards, we will go to the train station and then finish the round at the café. We are happy to wait for more players for the raid – just let us know when you are there.”
You see that such a request is much more appealing because you have thought it through beforehand and put effort into the raid. Keep an eye on your request in the Facebook group and communicate with people who are interested. By having other trainers involved, more players are quickly willing to participate, even if your initial team consists of only two people.
Important: Before you submit your request, take a look around the group to see how the people interact with each other, whether you feel comfortable there, and if you want to join. After all, you are sharing your location with the group – you should be sure that there are no obvious axe murderers present!
Many specific pieces of information on searching for raid teammates often help in forming a team. If you make an effort in your search, it increases your chances of interested players. Some groups on Facebook or Whatsapp use pre-formatted search requests and fill them out. They look something like this:
Location of the raid
Name of the arena
Raid boss
Difficulty level
Street or bus stop nearby
Start and end time of the raid
Fixed teammates:
