Curse of Osiris introduces numerous new exotic armor pieces in Destiny 2. Here we present an overview of the Exotic armor for Titan, Hunter, and Warlock.

Since the launch of Destiny 2, Guardians can collect 33 exotic armor pieces – 11 per Guardian class. With the Curse of Osiris expansion, a total of 12 additional Exotic armor pieces were added on December 5, some of which are already known from Destiny 1.

You can obtain these items randomly from all sources that can drop exotic engrams. Sometimes Xur will also bring them.

We present all new exotic armor pieces from the first DLC with their perks. It is noticeable that most Exotics influence the class abilities (Barricade, Rift, Dodge).

The exotic armor of the Titan from Curse of Osiris

The Titan receives four new Exotics:

Khepri’s Horn – Helmet

• Solar Bastion: Solar damage kills recharge the barricade, which releases an explosion of solar energy when erected.

Saint-14’s Helm – Helmet

• Starless Night: The protective dawn blinds enemies who enter it. Protection with Sentinel Shield briefly blinds nearby enemies.

Aeon’s Safe – Gauntlets

• Aeon Energy: Constructing a barricade grants Aeon Cult allies grenade energy (Warlocks), barricade energy (Titans), dodge energy (Hunters). All other allies receive a portion of the shared energy.

These gauntlets are interesting: each class has such gauntlets with “Aeon Energy”. If allied Guardians with Aeon Armor are nearby, blue spikes emerge from the armor. These indicate the “Aeon Cult allies” who benefit particularly from the perk.

MK.44 Stand Asides – Leg Armor

• Seriously, Head Down: Grants an over shield while sprinting with full health and equipped with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Strike. Hits with these abilities recharge a portion of melee energy.

Destiny 2 received new Exotics with Curse of Osiris. We present all exotic weapons of this expansion here in an overview.

The Guardian’s favorite toys are unique, exotic weapons. Since the launch of Destiny 2, there are 19 of them, with many Guardians already having all of them in their possession.

What can the 5 new exotic weapons do?

Only three of the five weapons are truly “new”. The other two weapons will surely be recognized by Destiny 1 veterans.

Scharlach – The “Red Death” Hand Cannon

Scharlach resembles the “Red Death” Pulse Rifle from Destiny 1. It is a Kinetic Hand Cannon.

The perks:

• Banned Weapon: Scharlach fires a salvo of three shots when you pull the trigger (like a pulse rifle)
• Cruel Remedy: Kills with this weapon heal you. Precision kills refill the magazine.

The perks also remind of the Red Death.

You can obtain Scharlach randomly from any sources that can drop exotic engrams. It is likely that Xur will have it too.

The Colony – A Grenade Launcher with Spider Robots

This is the grenade launcher that already made waves in trailers for Curse of Osiris. Because The Colony fires robot spiders that track the enemy.

The perks:

• Insectoid Robot Grenades: The grenades of this weapon are insect-like robots that chase targets and explode when they get close.
• In Service of the Colony: Insectoid robot grenades quickly refill ammunition reserves while the weapon is unequipped.

You can obtain The Colony randomly from any sources that can drop exotic engrams. It is likely that Xur will have it too.

Prometheus Lens – The Second Trace Rifle

So far, there has only been one trace rifle in Destiny 2: Cold Heart. With the Prometheus Lens, a second trace rifle is now added. It deals Solar damage.

Here are the special perks:

• Prismatic Inferno: Fires a solar beam and generates a damaging heat field that grows as the weapon is continuously fired.
• Flame Refraction: Kills with this weapon return a portion of the used ammunition to the magazine, extending the duration of the beam.

You can obtain the Prometheus Lens randomly from any sources that can drop exotic engrams. It is likely that Xur will have it too.

Jade Rabbit – What can the Scout Rifle do in Destiny 2?

The Jade Rabbit was a PlayStation-exclusive weapon in Destiny 1 for years. Now, the scout rifle is available on Xbox and has been available on all platforms in Destiny 2 since Curse of Osiris. It is an exotic kinetic weapon.

The perks:

• Fate of All Fools: Chains body shots to grant bonus damage on the next precision shot. It also returns ammunition to the magazine.
• Zen Moment: When you deal damage with the weapon, stability increases.

You can obtain the Jade Rabbit randomly from any sources that can drop exotic engrams. It is likely that Xur will have it too.

Telesto “the besto” Returns – What can the Fusion Rifle do now?

Telesto already existed in Destiny 1, where it earned the nickname “Telesto the besto”. In Destiny 2, the fusion rifle makes its return.

These are the perks:

• Unplanned Grace Period: Fusion projectiles stick and detonate with a delayed Void explosion.
• Pulse of the Herald: Multi-kills with this weapon instantly reload the equipped kinetic and energy weapons from reserves.

How to activate the heroic event on Mercury in Destiny 2? We will show you how to start the public event “Vex Crossroads” heroically.

With Curse of Osiris, the largest public event to date has been introduced. It is called Vex Crossroads and takes place in the patrol zone on Mercury. Unlike most other public events, Vex Crossroads is specifically tailored for this planet – it is quite dynamic and sends you almost across all of Mercury.

How to trigger “heroic” at Vex Crossroads

As with the other events, there is a normal mode and a heroic mode for the Mercury event, with the heroic mode dropping better rewards. However, the heroic event needs to be triggered first – you must fulfill a requirement to make the event “heroic”.

• First, play the Vex Crossroads as in normal mode: Defeat the Vex, take down the gatekeepers, and deactivate the warp gates in the starting area.
• Now you can reach “Islands” with jump portals, where you also need to kill a big boss on each to deactivate warp gates.
• Now it becomes important: Once you have deactivated a warp gate on an island, a floating Vex crystal appears outside:

  

• You must destroy this crystal as quickly as possible. It only stays for a short time.
• Once you have destroyed it, platforms and additional crystals spawn. Jump along the platforms and destroy the crystals until you reach the roof of the island.
• On the roof is a Vex platform. Stand in it. If you were quick enough, the heroic mode will now be activated. If it is not activated, other players on the other island may have been too quick and thus blocked the heroic mode.

The heroic mode causes the gatekeeper to have an impenetrable shield around him at the end. To destroy the shield, you must defeat an additional gatekeeper nearby. This will drop a sphere that you must throw into a device. Now the gatekeeper is vulnerable.

As a reward, there are two chests that may contain exotics. But most of the time, they contain tokens and blue items.

Here is the solution for the puzzle in the Lighthouse of Destiny 2! You need an Exciting Book as well as four other books to gain access to the chest.

Early in the campaign of “Curse of Osiris,” you enter the Lighthouse. This is the new social space on Mercury that some of you may remember from the “Trials of Osiris.”

In Destiny 2, you can visit Brother Vance there and prepare for new quests and adventures. Additionally, there’s a secret waiting for you that isn’t easy to uncover.

However, the eager Guardians on Reddit have already cracked it – and with our guide, you can solve it in under a minute too.

Solution for the puzzle in the Lighthouse – Here’s how to do it

You solve the puzzle by investigating a total of 5 books in the Lighthouse, then interacting with a Conflux to unlock the barrier in front of the reward chest.

The chest is the goal of this puzzle. You will find it below the small bridge that leads to Brother Vance. Jump down on the left side, that’s where it is:

Here’s how to get to it:

• Enter the Lighthouse.
• Walk straight to Brother Vance. On the platform where Vance stands, the first book is located on the left. It is called “Exciting Book.” Investigate it:

  

• From there, walk to the right side of the room. On the wall in the bookshelf is the Marked Book.
• The third book is located to the left of the entrance – between the entrance and the weapon forge. It is the Old Book.
• Now go back to the right side near the second book. The fourth book is not in the bookshelf on the wall, but on the table where some scholars of Osiris are sitting. There is the Strange Book.
• Now jump quickly straight to the weapon forge from the fourth book. To the right of the mural, there is a bookshelf with the Important Book. You need to investigate it while hovering because it is placed higher up. Or you can cleverly position yourself on the shelf.

Now a Conflux appears roughly in the middle of the room, which you can interact with. This decodes the “firewall,” allowing you to access the chest. For me, there was a legendary engram and a Mercury token inside.

Two important notes:

• All books are marked with the glowing symbol that is also on the chest. Therefore, the books can be quickly found.
• You need to investigate the books quickly and in the specified order. If you are too slow, you cannot activate the next book. Then you must start over with the Exciting Book.

In Destiny 2, the wait for HDR with Curse of Osiris should come to an end. However, PS4 players will have to be patient.

Before the launch of Destiny 2, there was surprising news: The MMO shooter will not offer HDR on consoles for the time being. But Bungie promised that this feature would be added in the future.

HDR stands for “High Dynamic Range” and ensures that colors are more vibrant on HDR-capable displays, that more details can be seen, and that colors appear more natural. In short: The image will be better.

Yesterday, on December 5th, it was supposed to happen: The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X were finally supposed to receive HDR. However, the PS4 Pro Guardians will have to wait a bit longer.

HDR issues are under investigation

The patch notes for update 1.11 list HDR support for consoles:

• PS4 Pro receives adaptive 4K and HDR
• Xbox One X receives 4K and HDR

  

A few hours after the launch of Curse of Osiris, Bungie tweeted: There are issues with HDR availability on the PS4. These are being investigated.

Investigations are still ongoing. Recently, community manager DeeJ provided an update that the team is making progress. When a solution for the HDR issues will come, they will let us know soon. He wants to inform us now that the investigations are progressing.

So the PS4 Guardians will have to wait a little longer until they can experience Destiny 2 in a new light. It seems there are no HDR issues on the Xbox One X.

Otherwise, the launch of Curse of Osiris went relatively smoothly. There was no server crash, and the Guardians could log in quickly. Aside from the HDR issues, Bungie reports no other urgent problems that they are investigating.

Perhaps the HDR issues on the PS4 will be resolved next week, on December 12th, as the next update is already set to be released, which will introduce further endgame innovations.
