Keeping the Success of Battlefield 1 in Mind
The new Battlefield is supposed to be a step into the future, while not forgetting the essentials. “Built on the success of Battlefield 1 and with inspiration from the core DNA of DICE, the franchise will be further developed,” says Wilson. Nevertheless, the typical Battlefield gameplay is to be retained. This is popular in the community.
Fans need not worry: “All the things a Battlefield fan would expect from a DICE multiplayer in the Battlefield universe are included.” In addition, new content will come. This is based on how EA views the future of multiplayer in the first-person genre.
These new features will be available right at launch – more will be added throughout the game’s lifespan.
A firm release date for Battlefield 2018 is to be announced in the coming weeks or months. Fans speculate on an announcement during E3 in June 2018.
According to Electronic Arts, the release of the open-world game Anthem is still targeted for March 2019. However, EA is considering releasing Anthem as early access beforehand. Then it could be adjusted based on player feedback.
Electronic Arts also talked about upcoming games in the current financial report and here about BioWare’s mega-project Anthem. It had long circulated as “Project Dylan” and is seen as EA’s answer to Destiny and The Division.
After Anthem was postponed in this January to March 2019, it is set to stay with this release timeframe for now.
However, the publisher is currently also considering bringing the game to the public sooner.
Anthem with possible Early Access
What is EA planning with Anthem? After the game was delayed, it is now set to launch in early 2019. The focus is still on March.
During the financial conference, EA stated that they are considering releasing Anthem as early access sooner. An unfinished version of the game would be offered, which would gradually change based on player feedback.
Early Access only with subscription? It is currently unclear whether Electronic Arts and BioWare are considering releasing Anthem for all players in early access, or only for subscribers of the EA services.
EA Access on Xbox One and Origin Access on PC are subscription services that allow players to try some new titles from the publisher earlier. Additionally, players gain access to the Vault, where selected games can be downloaded at no extra cost.
What is Anthem? Anthem is EA’s and BioWare’s response to games-as-a-service titles like Destiny and The Division. Anthem is supposed to offer both singleplayer content and a co-op multiplayer in a shared game world.
“Anthem is fundamentally a social experience and will open up new opportunities for fans to join the community and play early,” said EA CEO Andrew Wilson. “This way, we can shape and refine the game with feedback. We are very excited to launch this brand new franchise. We also look forward to working with our players to make Anthem a game they want to play and share with their friends for years to come.”
The sandbox MMORPG Albion Online launches on May 16 also via Steam. This is aimed at reaching more players to populate the sandbox world – and for the Steam release, the developers have also come up with special achievements.

Once you have collected 35 data fragments, you need to go to the Lost Sector “Kern Terminus”. This Lost Sector is located in the Braytech Futurescape area on Mars. There you will find a vault that can be opened once you have gathered the necessary data fragments. You will then directly receive the Worldline Zero.
ArenaNet is implementing comprehensive changes to underwater combat in Guild Wars 2. Fighting in water is intended to become more enjoyable and faster. Additionally, there are new rewards and a title. Fans are already speculating about an underwater raid.
What was the previous system like? The combat in the 3D environment was significantly slower than on land. According to ArenaNet, this was meant to feel realistic. In practice, most skills provided no feedback, dealt little damage, and led to long fights without any tension. This is the community’s view.
What will be changed? ArenaNet aims to align underwater combat with land combat. While the character will still be slower in water than on land, they should be able to defeat enemies underwater in the same time as on land. Some abilities will be adjusted to achieve this. For instance, the “Tidal Wave” of the Elementalist will receive a significant speed boost, and the damage will scale with the distance covered.
New rewards: Title and increased swimming speed
New rewards are meant to motivate players to spend more time in the water. Diving Master Astora from Lions Arch, south of the waypoint “Sanctum Harbor,” is assisting with this. She explains the reward system and gives the player the first key.
