There is ongoing heated discussion about the (eventually) coming space MMO Star Citizen. This is especially true now after the announcement of the new spaceship Hercules Starlifter. It comes without insurance. If it gets damaged, $600 would be lost.
Who buys the ships in Star Citizen and why does CIG make so many? Sales of new ships are a steady and important source of income for the developer studio Cloud Imperium Games.
For many fans of the online game Star Citizen, the ships are a kind of collector’s item. They want to have as many as possible to eventually fly them in-game.
In addition, there are people who view these ships as speculative objects: the gray market is booming with Star Citizen.
In any case, purchasing supports the development of the MMO that one is looking forward to and wants to spend a lot of time in – once it is finally released. Others cannot make sense of the sale of digital spaceships at all.
Players want insurance
New ship angers fans. Recently, the developers introduced the new ship Hercules Starlifter in various variations. However, there is no lifetime insurance for the ship that could be purchased with Store Credits. These insurances have been altered some time ago and now must be purchased separately with real money. Insurance is important to be able to replace stolen ships.
Now some fans of Star Citizen are upset:
They would like the option to purchase insurance with Store Credits
They want to be able to “melt” ships and convert them into Store Credits to buy insurance
Fans believe that being able to pay for insurance with Store Credits is a good way to encourage players to purchase more ships
The spaceships in Star Citizen are not exactly cheap. The Hercules Starlifter will cost $600 when it goes on sale from May 11. And that without insurance. If the ship is stolen and is not insured, then $600 would be lost.
Star Citizen
Who buys a pig in a poke?
General criticism of the latest ship sales. Players also criticize how the ship sales have been handled recently:
Ships are presented without much description
New spaceships are only available for a short time
Ships have become expensive
Interested players have to act quickly and often do not even know what they are spending several hundred dollars on
Despite this criticism, it is evident that Star Citizen is still very popular and the crowdfunding amount continues to rise. Currently, it stands at over $185 million.
The challenge for Season 4 in Fortnite: Battle Royale is entering week 2. To level up in the Battle Pass, you need to dance in front of cameras and find a treasure between a scarecrow, a pink hot rod car, and a large screen. Learn here how to master the challenge with maps and videos!
With the new Season 4, you also have the opportunity to purchase a Battle Pass and complete weekly challenges. This allows you to level up and brings various cosmetic items.
In addition to the standard quests (defeat opponents with certain weapons or in specific locations), there are special quests each week that may not seem solvable at first glance.
The challenges for week 2 of Season 4
Here’s what you need to do in the second week of Season 4:
Deal damage to opponents with suppressed weapons (500)
Search chests at Greasy Grove (7)
Use bounce pads (7)
Dance in front of various film cameras (7)
Search between a scarecrow, a pink hot rod car, and a large screen (1) (HARD)
Eliminate players with an explosive weapon (3) (HARD)
Eliminate opponents at Tomato Town (3) (HARD)
Where are the film cameras I need to dance in front of? With update 4.0, Epic added a number of new locations to the map of Fortnite: Battle Royale, including the mentioned film sets, which often also have a green screen that allows you to record videos and then add your own background.
The treasure between a scarecrow, a pink hot rod, and a large screen
While searching for the cameras, you can also collect a hidden star that will grant you a full level in the Battle Pass. It is located directly east of Risky Reels on a hill.
This is the coveted Battle Star for the second week.
On the map, you can see the exact location:
Here at the marker is the Battle Star.

Video games are once again being used as a scapegoat. At least the NRA believes that games are to blame for the violence stemming from young people. Cortyn sees it differently.
Last weekend, the annual conference of the NRA, the American gun lobby, took place again. Dave Grossman, a former army member and author of several books on the “psychology of killing,” spoke about the growing problem of crimes committed by teenagers and children. According to him, the main reason for the increasing violent acts, which particularly in America often result in many deaths, is violent media, especially video games.
What was claimed? In essence, Grossman said: “Children around the world are committing more crimes than ever before in history. This is not about the rifles; there have always been rifles. It’s the sick films, the sick TV series, and especially the sick video games around the world. They create sick, sick children.”
What is the NRA? The “National Rifle Association of America” is one of the largest interest groups in America. It consists of representatives from gun manufacturers and retailers, as well as target shooters. It advocates that ideally every American should have a gun, based on the idea that: Only when everyone has a gun, no villain would dare to shoot. Fundamentally, it is of course about the sale of weapons.
Why are the claims nonsense? Most studies have found no correlation between increasing violence and the consumption of video games. Rather, it seems that the general availability of weapons is the problem, as the BBC explained.
As a small comparison, let’s take Japan: In America, there were almost 33,600 deaths from firearms in 2014, whereas in Japan there were only 6. This is because firearms in Japan are only issued if a lot of regulations are met:
Special firearms training must be completed for one day.
Only those who achieve a hit rate of at least 95% at the shooting range qualify. (Must be repeated every 3 years)
Handguns are generally prohibited. Only air rifles and shotguns are allowed.
Drug tests are conducted.
Mental health is checked.
Connections to extremist groups are checked, as well as family and coworkers.
The police must know where the weapon and ammunition are kept, which must be stored separately.
New ammunition can only be purchased if the old magazines are returned.
In America, all these restrictions do not exist. Almost everyone has the right to own a gun there – a personal check is omitted in almost all cases.
Why is it still claimed? Video games are being used as a reason for why violent acts in America are on the rise. For several months, there have been many protests in America, especially from young people, expressing opposition to gun ownership. By blaming “the media,” the NRA appears to hope to deflect the debate.
Cortyn says: The statement is not really surprising. The NRA is known for always representing guns in a positive light and not acknowledging guns themselves as a cause for violent acts – but rather everything else. This might seem silly, especially in Europe, but strictly speaking, it is the NRA’s job. Because they must claim: “Guns are great and protect lives, video games and ‘evil media’ are the reason why guns are misused.” That this is absolute nonsense and that America itself is the prime example of this, I probably do not need to elaborate further.
Today, Update 4.1 for Fortnite is being released on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and iOS. We are looking at the Fortnite patch notes, which primarily focus on the new mode “Infinity Gauntlet” and the abilities of Thanos.
The highlights of today’s patch are clearly the new mode “Infinity Gauntlet” for Fortnite: Battle Royale. In the PvE mode “Save the World,” a new weapon, the light machine gun HackSAW, awaits to shred husks.
Highlights of the Patch Notes for Fortnite Battle Royale
Infinity Gauntlet: This is the new limited-time solo mode in Fortnite. A meteor crashes onto the island, bringing the Infinity Gauntlet. Whoever finds it transforms into Thanos. If Thanos is defeated, the Gauntlet falls to the ground and can be picked up again.

Thanos himself can utilize powerful abilities and can take more damage than a normal mortal.
Thanos can:
deal a powerful strike,
slam to the ground and deal area damage (AOE),
fire a shot that deals damage over time,
and leap with a super jump to overcome nearly all obstacles
regenerate his shield when he eliminates opponents. However, his health points do not recover
However, Thanos cannot build or use weapons – he jumps around as a colossus and crushes everything. He does not take fall damage.
Matches in “Infinity Gauntlet” last about 15 minutes. No green or white weapons appear in “Infinity Gauntlet,” only rare, epic, or legendary. There are increased chances for loot in this mode. You collect double the resources with your pickaxe. You will find significantly more launch pads and shield potions.
The storm eye already shrinks when the match starts and causes more damage than usual.
Also in the patch notes:
The last storm eye now appears more often in the edge areas of the map
You can now join groups of players who are already in a match
Players can no longer hide sticky grenades and remote explosives with spray patterns
Highlights of the Patch Notes for Fortnite Save the World
HackSAW is a new weekly item – it is a light machine gun with a moderate rate of fire, low recoil, long reload time, and it is very efficient in terms of ammo consumption.
Storm chests and “Rescue the Drone” missions do not grant item supplies – that was a bug
There are still some bug fixes and balance changes included, but nothing really wild.
Under the codename “Savage”, the small, action-packed PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) map has been known. Now there are new updates and another test phase for you.
The team from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently working on a new map. Until now, it was only known under the codename “Savage”, but in the future, you will call it Sanhok (pronounced “sah-nok”).
The test phase for the Sanhok map will begin on May 11th, and everyone of you can participate. The developers expect significant feedback from this initiative.
Sanhok – Test phase on the new PUBG map
Until now, you could play on the Erangel map and Miramar in PUBG. It all started with Erangel, the green map that offers many green fields. Miramar, the desert map, is the second arena of the game, which was unlocked at the end of 2017.
What makes Sanhok special? The third PUBG map is called Sanhok and is particularly small. The area measures only 4×4 kilometers – Miramar and Erangel are four times larger at 8×8 kilometers. In Sanhok, you can expect an Asian vibe with temples.
It will take months until the map’s release. The developers stated at the end of the blog post – A specific date is not yet set.
Test phase for everyone! Until now, only invited players could participate in the tests. The new test is open to anyone who owns a copy of PUBG.
Start of the test: The open test for the Sanhok map starts on Friday, May 11th, at 04:00 AM German time
End of the test: The test ends on Monday, May 14th, at 01:00 PM German time
First impressions of the Sanhok map
To gather impressions for the new map, the team from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds traveled around the world. Sanhok was inspired by many islands in Southeast Asia, including some from Thailand and the Philippines.
Fun fact – How did they come up with the name? The Thai word for fun is pronounced “sah-nook”. The Filipino word for chicken is pronounced “mah-nok”. When you combine the two words, you get Sanhok – hence chicken fun or fun chicken!
In previous test runs, the small map was very well received. Players praised the great fun that arises from the smaller play area. You encounter enemies much faster because there is less space to hide. In addition, clothing spawns have previously been disabled on Sanhok – hence, there were almost only useful gadgets on the map.
These screenshots of Red Dead Redemption 2 show the gang members, weapons, and horses of the Western game. In addition to the trailers, the images provide insights into the events of Red Dead Redemption 2 and showcase a selection of weapons.
Players in Red Dead Redemption 2 can go hunting, take down game, and transport the loot on their horses. What that loot is, what weapons you can shoot with, and what the gang members look like, are shown in the new screenshots of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Screenshots – John Marston
The galleries with the screenshots of Red Dead Redemption 2 are embedded here for you. In the first section, you will find familiar faces like John Marston and Dutch.
The world in Red Dead Redemption 2 seems to offer a lot. This has already garnered plenty of positive feedback. Fans praise the fantastic graphics displayed in the screenshots. Some of the characters you will encounter in the game can already be met through these screenshots. This includes Arthur Morgan, the protagonist of the story. Many fans were excited about John Marston’s appearance, whom they know from Red Dead Redemption.
Shootouts and Revolvers
Weapons and shootouts are apparently an important part of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Revolvers and shotguns are frequently seen in screenshots and trailers. Whether to shoot down enemies or intimidate innocent NPCs. Your behavior reflects on the environment.
You hunt with a bow and arrow or your weapons. What tool you use to kill is important. Because an animal hide riddled with shotgun pellets brings you less money at the trader than an intact hide. The screenshots show bears, wolves, deer, and also ducks.
At Night
Sitting comfortably by the crackling campfire at night and singing songs with your gang – that creates a great atmosphere. This is also the case in Red Dead Redemption 2. The camp is an important place to which you can always return, but don’t have to. If you want, you can regularly supply your gang with food there.
In the community of the Western game, the new images are well received. In a Reddit thread about the screenshots, players show their enthusiasm:
“Looks amazing. I am ready for the game. I have been for years. I’m so grateful that it’s almost here. I hope it’s everything we wish for,” writes user Syndromestudios
“The lighting effects are insane. It looks so, so good,” writes Seeenrulez
“I saw the guitar in the campfire picture. It would be cool if you could rest somewhere to play your guitar,” writes ZoomZoom10
“Jesus, I hope there’s a photo mode in this game. I want to have every picture as a wallpaper; everything looks so beautiful. The screenshot that is almost black and white is especially great,” writes athenafletcher.
Generally, players praise the lighting effects and the natural-looking environment that makes the game feel so alive.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Special Editions – Hope Among Players
In a blog post on the website of Rockstar Games, the developers write that there will be more information about Red Dead Redemption 2 next month. This includes “first details of the special editions of the game” and more.
Hinting at the E3 fair? The E3 gaming fair takes place in June. Thus, a reveal could be planned there. Fans speculate about an appearance of Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Sony stage. They come to this assumption because Rockstar has already confirmed that PS4 players will receive exclusive content for Red Dead Redemption 2.
Fans are in collector mood: When collectors hear “special editions,” alarm bells go off. On Reddit, players celebrate this announcement and hope for collector’s editions as well.
Special editions are typically more expensive versions that include additional gimmicks. Soundtracks, art books, maps, posters, and more might be included in the special editions. Possibly also DLC content.
However, the special editions could also refer to certain bundles that might be available alongside consoles.
Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) is receiving the limited-time game mode “Infinity Gauntlet” on May 8th. In this mashup of Marvel and Fortnite, Thanos will appear. Fans hope that Avengers skins will also be released, but Epic is nipping this hope in the bud.
What is it about? Fans of Marvel and Fortnite were equally excited when Epic Games announced a mashup of Epic’s shooter and Avengers: Infinity War on Twitter. In the new, limited-time game mode “Infinity Gauntlet” you can find the namesake gauntlet of Thanos with the 6 Infinity Stones on the map.
Then you will become Thanos, which probably means death and destruction for all other players.
The Thanos game mode is coming on May 8, 2018.
No Black Panther, Captain America, or Iron Man
Thanos is definitely in the game, at least during the Infinity Gauntlet game mode. But what about the other Avengers and superheroes who battle against Thanos in the film? It would be perfect if you could play as Black Panther, Captain America, Thor, or Iron Man.
No Marvel characters: Unfortunately, that won’t happen. In a Reddit post, an Epic employee responded to the rising requests from fans for Marvel skins. “We have no plans for Avengers outfits in the shop.” Thanos will likely only appear in the new game mode and not as a regular shop item.
Maybe there is still hope…
Why not? That would be great! Apparently, the cooperation between Marvel and Epic does not extend so far as to make the most famous heroes in the world available as skins.
With a lot of imagination, the Omega skin is a Black Panther…
Thor with a gun? According to the responsible parties, everything should feel “right”. Heroes like Thor or Iron Man, who are shooting with guns and have no other powers, do not quite fit the legendary image of these heroes.
The mashup with Thanos supposedly came about due to the personal preferences of the directors of Infinity War. They are big fans of the game and suddenly offered the Epic CEO the idea for the Infinity Gauntlet mashup one day.
But who knows, maybe there is still hope for Avengers skins if the Thanos game mode goes through the roof and Epic pays enough money to Disney…
One day before the release of the Warmind expansion for Destiny 2 Bungie released the launch trailer for the 2nd DLC. Among other things, new exotic weapons, story snippets, and the giant Worm God Xol were shown. What details were hidden in the trailer?
Shortly before the launch of the Warmind DLC Bungie gets the Guardians excited again for the second expansion, which is set to release in just a few hours. The studio released the launch trailer for DLC II on the eve of the release. We have summarized the most important information for you.
Launch Trailer for the Warmind DLC – What’s Inside?
Besides already known features and content, the trailer also reveals some new details. Both new weapons and unknown story elements, as well as some fresh enemies, can be seen. Let’s take a closer look at the new details.
The first exotic sword comes with the 2nd DLC to the delight of many Guardians – the Worldline Zero. The sword is visually inspired by a Fallen energy blade.
The Worldline Zero deals Arc damage and has some cool combo moves in store. The most notable feature of the sword is a type of blink teleportation during the attack. This allows the wielder to close the distance to the enemy without being hit themselves.
How to obtain this sword is not yet known. There are also no details on the exact perks of the weapon.
The return of the Sleeper Simulant is becoming more likely. Previously, fans had found hints about the Sleeper in the official materials. In the trailer, many now believe they have found the definitive proof of its return.
The weapon that the Warlock is holding in his hands leaves little room for speculation. However, there has been no official confirmation from Bungie yet.
The new hand cannon in Warmind style is also seen multiple times in the trailer. This weapon is currently the focus of heated debates. Visually, it is very reminiscent of the 3 exclusive weapons from the Escalation Protocol event.
However, it will not be available as part of this event. Bungie confirmed this via Twitter. The studio did not provide details about the weapon’s origin, stating they do not want to spoil everything beforehand.
Many fans suspect, however, that it may be an exclusive Nightfall weapon from the new strike “Will of the Thousands.” This strike takes place in the Rasputin bunker. A weapon visually inspired by it appearing as a reward does not seem unreasonable. Furthermore, Bungie has already confirmed that there will be new exclusive Nightfall rewards for the Warmind strikes.
New Enemies
The trailer also showcased some new enemies from the upcoming expansion.
Worm God Xol seems to be by far the most conspicuous and largest creature that the Guardians will soon have to face.
In the previously shown video material, his massive size could already be inferred. In the new trailer, fans now get to see him in all his glory. Many are of the opinion that Xol will be the final boss in the Warmind story.
New footage of Nokris, the Herald of Xol has also been revealed.
Players will face this Hive God at the end of the strike “Strange Terrain.”
New Hive enemies from the Escalation Protocol event were also shown. Huge ogres in the style of Phogoth or Golgoroth will soon make life difficult for the Guardians.
Two huge Hive Knights were also seen. Whether these enemies will act as different mid or final bosses of the event is not yet known.
The first players will likely find this out for themselves in a short time.
New Raid Wing
For the first time, there were also moving images from the new raid wing Star’s Gate. As suspected, the new raid passage takes place on the back of the Leviathan. There, players will face the Cabal once again. Some detail-oriented fans expect a story twist after the trailer.
According to fans, the Cabal enemies visually resemble the Red Legion rather than the usual Calus troops. The Red Legion and Calus troops are known to be unfriendly towards each other.
Flying Cabal ships in the background strengthen this assumption in the minds of some fans. Will there be conflict among the space turtles?
Story
There was also a new detail about the story surrounding the Warmind expansion. In addition to Ana Bray, Zavala will also guide you through the storyline of DLC 2.
The Vanguard Commander is also present and is not particularly pleased with either the awakening of Rasputin or the presence of the Hive. He will likely play a similar role to Ikora in Curse of Osiris.
In a few moments, Conan Exiles will officially open its doors and will be fully released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. We have answers to the most important questions regarding the release and the Day One patch: When does Conan Exiles start? How big is the download? On which server should I start?
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, Conan Exiles will leave Early Access and celebrate its release. The official servers have already been taken offline and will be available again right on time for the launch.
We have compiled all known information about the release for you.
The official launch of Conan Exiles on PC, PS4, Xbox One
When can Conan Exiles be played? The official servers will go live on May 8 at 1 PM Central European Time along with the release patch.
From when can the patch be downloaded? For Xbox One and PS4, the Day One patches for Conan Exiles will be available from 9 AM. No official time has been announced yet for the PC version, but it is expected that the patch will also be available at 9 AM.
How large will the patch be?
PS4: about 14 GB
Xbox One: about 44GB
PC: about 1.4 GB
Will the servers be wiped? Yes. The official servers, which were taken offline on the evening of May 7, will be completely reset and will be available again to all players from 1 PM.
Whether unofficial/private servers will be wiped is up to the owners. Funcom recommends that owners reset all databases and thus the servers to align them with the current game state.
What kind of servers are officially available? Funcom will initially set up 225 official servers where you can play. Three categories are planned:
PvP: On these servers, combat between players is possible at any time, but damaging buildings will be limited to “prime time” (5 PM to 11 PM server time). Players can fight each other at will, but raids and damage to structures will be limited.
PvE: Only creatures and NPCs can harm players. Slaves do not attack players and players cannot attack or kill slaves.
PvE Conflict: On PvE Conflict servers, you can only attack players during prime time (5 PM to 11 PM server time). Damaging buildings is disabled at all times. These servers will initially only be available for PC. They may later be opened for PS4 and Xbox One, depending on popularity.
On all official servers, the “cleaning” will only take place between 6 PM and 10 PM server time.
The E3 is approaching and Ubisoft seemingly has big plans for the action game For Honor. There are even hints of new hero classes. All of this makes it clear: Ubisoft continues to plan with For Honor, even in 2018.
The upcoming patch for For Honor kicks off Season 6. While this brings a new map that centers around a Japanese castle, there is nothing new regarding classes.
However, the heroes Orochi and Peacekeeper will receive updates. In addition, equipment graphics will be applied to the items in a separate menu, which saves you space in your inventory. So far, so good. Ubisoft is still taking care of For Honor.
New Heroes for For Honor
However, apparently the company is pursuing plans to make For Honor an important game, which is aligned with the Game-as-a-Service trend. Because Roman Campos-Oriola, the Creative Director of the game, stated that fans can look forward to the upcoming E3. At the gaming convention, Ubisoft wants to reveal more details regarding the future of For Honor.
While many fans have already written off For Honor, as the peer-to-peer connections made online play difficult at launch and little fun was had, this has since changed. Ubisoft never gives up on its own games that quickly.
This can also be seen with Rainbow Six Siege. A game that started with moderate success has developed into a hit and an important pillar for Ubisoft.
With further additional content such as new heroes, Ubisoft could strive to keep For Honor interesting for players for a long time and make the title an important Game-as-a-Service product for the company. More information about future plans will be shared at E3.

For Hearthstone, many nerfs to popular cards are coming. We reveal to you which cards the developers have targeted.
Some nerfs are coming to Hearthstone soon, to slightly tone down the current top-tier decks. Developer Dean Ayala has revealed which 10 cards the Hearthstone team has targeted. However, the changes will likely not be implemented for a few weeks.
Which cards are to be nerfed? Dean Ayala revealed on Twitter and Reddit which cards are currently under the developers’ scrutiny. However, he emphasized that not all these cards will be changed, but at least some from this list will be adjusted:
Sunkeeper Tarim
Call to Arms
Baku the Moonslinger – In connection with the Paladin hero power
Spiteful Summoner
Possessed Lackey
Bloodreaver Gul’dan
Dark Pact
Kobold Librarian
Quest Rogue
Doomguard
Witchwood brought few meta changes
Why is there a nerf? The current expansion “The Witchwood” had very little impact on the current top decks. Only about 10% of all played cards come from the latest expansion and the trend is decreasing. In comparison: In the first week of “Journey to Un’Goro”, about 25% of all cards from the latest expansion were played.
When will the nerfs happen? At the earliest after the last matches of the current HCT Playoffs. The developers do not want to adjust balance during a major tournament. The tournament ends on May 19, meaning adjustments can be expected in early June.
Which decks will be affected by these changes? Especially the feared “Cube-Lock”, which makes quick work of many players through various mechanics such as the Possessed Lackey or Doomguard, is likely to be somewhat weaker after the adjustments. Also, Paladins, who currently “flood the board” and then buff all minions, will likely have to face some cuts.
Are you looking forward to the nerfs? Or are you a fan of these decks?

What will update 4.1 bring for the Battle Royale players? Epic surprisingly announced a collaboration with Marvel’s Avengers yesterday, a mashup. Thanos is said to become the main character of a new game mode. The mode is called “Infinity Gauntlet” – whoever finds this gauntlet on the map, instantly transforms into Thanos and can cause all sorts of havoc.
Whether and in what form Epic will bring fixes or bug fixes is currently still unknown.
What can “Save the World” players look forward to? Epic recently released an updated roadmap on Reddit that we don’t want to withhold from you. PvE players can look forward to a new weapon today – the light machine gun.
Originally, a new hero was planned with update 4.1 – but this has been postponed to a future update. Here’s what to expect in the coming weeks in Fortnite: Save the World:
Patch 4.2 (week around May 15th)
Perk Recombobulator™!
New, repeatable event quests
Quad Launcher
Patch 4.3 (week around May 29th)
Blockbuster Event Part 2
Portable Fort as a usable item
Epic has announced that the patch notes will no longer be released simultaneously with the start of maintenance, but as soon as the new version has been deployed. This is to prevent announced features from not making it into the game due to problems – and thus causing discontent among players.
Are you looking forward to the new game mode “Infinity Gauntlet”?
Fortnite: Battle Royale is now playable on many platforms, only Android users are currently left out. Fortnite Mobile is only available for iOS. Allegedly, Epic has now sent invitations for an Android beta to streamers. What is the truth behind the rumor?
So far, Fortnite: Battle Royale is playable on all major platforms (PC / Mac, Playstation 4, Xbox One, iOS), but Android users have not yet been able to enjoy a playable version on their platform.
It is considered certain that Fortnite: Battle Royale will be released on Android – the only unknown is when. At least until now, right?
What is this about? Allegedly, some YouTube streamers have received invitations by email for a beta event to play Fortnite: Battle Royale on Android devices. The content and presentation of the email seem quite credible.
A beta version is supposed to be available as early as May 8th. The process is said to be similar to the launch of the iOS version a few months ago. With the invitation, selected players should be allowed to acquire the game from Google’s Play Store.
Is this all real? Or just a hoax? It is likely that this is a fake. It is very unlikely that Epic will secretly announce the release of the game on the Android platform.
Such actions are usually announced with great fanfare. Should the action turn out to be true, Epic would be taking a new path. By May 8th at the latest, the mystery will be revealed – or nothing will happen at all.
In light of the massive success of Fortnite: Battle Royale on iOS devices, Epic is likely very eager to establish the shooter on the Android platform as well.
What obstacles are there for an Android version of Fortnite? Basically, Epic wants all players on the platforms to have the same conditions. This is particularly challenging on Android devices.
There are many Android emulators available on computers that give players using mouse and keyboard a significant advantage over those who have to manage with the touchscreen. It will be interesting to see how Epic will circumvent this problem.
What do you think about this? Are you excited for the Android version of Fortnite: Battle Royale?
There have also been scams circulating about the Android version:
Bungie has released the launch trailer for Destiny 2 “Warmind”. We show you the trailer here in German and in English. You can see some new exotic weapons and first snippets from the story.
The Guardians are already loading their blasters and preparing mentally and physically for the launch of the DLC “Warmind”. A new trailer from Bungie bursts into this preparation on the eve of the great battle. And Bungie can make trailers.
In the run-up to the upcoming Warmind expansion for Destiny 2, a lot of new information about upcoming content of the 2nd DLC has been revealed. There are also many concrete details about new features of the Warmind DLC. We summarize all the important innovations and facts for you.
Many Guardians are eagerly awaiting the next expansion for Destiny 2. Some long for fresh PvE activities and new loot, while others wish for more long-term motivation and more exciting battles in the Crucible.
Here you will find everything you need to know about DLC 2 “Warmind” and when it will be released.
When is the release of the Warmind DLC? The official release date for the 2nd expansion is May 8, 2018. Then the 2nd DLC will be released simultaneously for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The biggest driving force in the Destiny series is the hunt for loot for many fans. Accordingly, expectations are high that the Warmind expansion will shine here with exciting new gear.
What new loot can the Guardians hunt?
The upcoming expansion brings again a lot of new, thematically inspired weapons, armor, and other items that are waiting to be found by you.
New exotics are also on board. 12 new exotic armor pieces will join the game with the Warmind DLC. New exotic weapons are also included. So far, three are known.
Apparently, fans who loved collecting dead ghost shells, classified fragments, and inactive SIVA bundles in Destiny 1 have also been considered. With the Warmind DLC, new collectibles – i.e., collectible items – come into play. If the display on the map of the new location is to be believed, there will be 45 collectibles on Mars with the new expansion.
What new features can Guardians expect in PvE?
PvE lovers finally get fresh content again. A new setting called Hellas Basin is waiting for players on the ice caps of Mars, ready to be explored.
The explorable part of the location has 2 landing zones and is about the size of Titan – mind you, without the strike and mission locations.
This is what the new Hellas Basin region of Mars looks like on the map
New story missions and adventures await fans in the new location. There are also two new strikes:
Will of the Thousands: In this strike, it is about preventing an attack on Rasputin’s neural network and defeating a monstrous enemy with the help of the Valkyrie spear.
Strange Terrain: In this strike, you will fight deep in the tunnels beneath Hellas Basin against the Messenger of Xol. Stop the Taken Prince before he can grant more power to the Worm God.
Do you need more background information on the lore surrounding the Warmind DLC? The Warmind comic is live.
Was the PvE too easy for you so far? With the Warmind expansion, a new, challenging ritual activity has been added – the Escalation Protocol. Fight through escalating Taken waves in this brand-new event to receive unique rewards each week. According to Bungie, even experienced Guardians will find this challenging.
Raid fans also won’t miss out: another highlight of the second expansion is the new Raid wing – the Astral Alignment. All Guardians who feared Bungie might postpone the planned new raid wing to fall 2018 can breathe a sigh of relief. The second and final wing, Astral Alignment for the Leviathan raid, is a fixed part of the Warmind DLC as planned.
Additionally, 2 new Crucible maps will be introduced with the second expansion: 2 new Crucible maps.
Are there again PS4-exclusive contents?
As usual, PS4 Guardians will receive some time-exclusive in-game content again with the Warmind expansion.
There will be an exclusive third strike called Insight Terminus, in which Zavala sends you back to Nessus, where you will fight against a Psion Commander and other Cabal in a Vex site. There will also be time-exclusive armor sets for all three classes on PS4.
When will these exclusive contents be released on Xbox One and PC? When the time-exclusive content will be released for the other platforms is not yet known.
Are there any other innovations?
With Warmind, you will be able to level your character up to level 30. The previous maximum power level will also increase with the 2nd expansion. Thus, the new power level cap with modifications is now 385. Without mods, you can only raise the power level to 380: Destiny 2 will make you work hard for the new maximum level in the future.
The unknown claims to be successful – and makes a fool of himself in the World of Warcraft community.
Those who play World of Warcraft often encounter strange teammates, where one can sense within seconds that their upbringing was likely not storybook-like.
This was also the case for Redditor stickywickybob, who was whispered to after a short PvP skirmish that he was a terrible player and that he had just fallen out with the second-best Fortnite player in the world.
“You keep working, I’ll make fun of you”
What happened? A friend of stickywickybob, who had just reached level 50 with his character, was repeatedly ganked by a level 110 player. The victim called for help, and Stickywickybob avenged his friend. Afterwards, he received a message from the ganker, who roughly summarized in capital letters:
“You are 100 item levels above me, that’s totally unfair, why don’t you fight me in the rated battleground, but you are just a coward.”
When the ganker was then asked whether it was fair to gank a level 50 player, he replied that it was “just world PvP and every low-level player would gank, but a difference in item level would be unfair.”
It’s also nice that he boasts in the dialogue about not being a kid anymore. After all, he is 14.
Later, Bob received an in-game letter from the mentioned player, in which he claimed:
“Say hello to my Twitch fanbase, I have over 4 million subscribers and viewers lol. I am also the second-best Fortnite player, have played with Ninja and Drake, and you are just an Alliance kid who fights unfairly. Go back to work while I earn millions on Twitch making fun of you, lol.”
This nicely proves once again: Even with (possibly invented) millions of dollars, one can easily make a fool of oneself.
The flip side of the coin: This “very well-known Twitch streamer” now has more attention for a moment than he will probably ever get. How unfortunate for him that his name does not come up. Tough luck.
There is a major change in the MMORPG Star Trek Online – the optional monthly subscription is being abolished. However, in its place, an Elite Starter Pack will be introduced, and the lifetime subscription will remain available.
Star Trek Online – from subscription MMO to Free2Play. Subscriptions are always a tricky subject in MMOs. Some players find them good because only the dedicated fans play, and they are willing to pay monthly to support “their” game. Others do not want to commit too strongly and are not willing to pay a monthly fee, as they cannot estimate how often they will play.
Therefore, many MMORPGs that started with subscriptions have since switched to a Free2Play model.
Star Trek Online was a classic subscription MMO from its launch in February 2010 until January 2012, similar to World of Warcraft. One needed a subscription to play it. However, since January 2012, Star Trek Online has adopted a Free2Play model – meaning you no longer necessarily need a subscription. Captains could, however, continue to pay monthly to enjoy certain benefits. Now this “freemium” subscription is also going away.
Elite Starter Pack replaces regular subscription
In Star Trek Online, after eight years, the regular subscription is now being abolished. Instead, you can purchase an Elite Starter Pack for 1,500 Zen in the store, which is a one-time purchase. For about 19.99€, you can get 2200 Zen in the shop. So, you would spend a one-time 20€ to get the Elite Starter Pack and have 700 Zen left over.
This pack offers:
one new character slot
20 shared bank slots
5 training vouchers
increase of the credit limit to 2 billion credits
Per character, you also receive:
30 inventory slots
60 bank slots
2 bridge officer slots
Existing subscriptions continue
This is how it will proceed. It is no longer possible to take out a regular subscription from now on. However, the lifetime subscription will continue to exist. Those who still have a subscription can continue to use it along with all the benefits. The veteran rewards will also remain. The change takes effect immediately.
In Fortnite with Season 4, there are the two new skins Carbide and Omega, which you can upgrade gradually. How do you unlock the skins and upgrade them? And what is the mysterious Blockbuster Challenge about?
What is currently going on? The 4th Season of Fortnite has brought many new features to the game. These include new challenges for the Battle Pass, a modified map, and special superhero skins that can be upgraded. This is meant to improve motivation and progression in Fortnite.
Increase your Season Level and make Carbide and Omega look nicer
This is what the new skins are about: In the new Battle Pass, there are two special new superhero skins: Carbide at Battle Pass level 1 and Omega at the final level 100 of the pass. Both skins look pretty cool already, but you can further enhance them.
New style for Carbide and Omega: As seen in the embedded images, you will receive additional outfit parts when you reach certain levels in the season (not in the Battle Pass!). For example, Carbide receives a chest plate starting from Season Level 10, leg armor at Level 20, and a helmet at Level 40.
The same applies to the final Battle Pass skin Omega, for which you need to achieve higher Season levels. You will only get the full set of accessories for Omega starting from Season Level 80.
New legendary bonus skin for the Blockbuster Challenge?
Season levels used to be quite irrelevant. In the last season, many players finished their challenges before the end, and the season levels were worthless once you completed the Battle Pass.
Leveling up in the season earned you stars in the Battle Pass. Every 10 stars equated to one level in the pass and thus a new reward. Particularly, players who meticulously completed all challenges each week hoped for special rewards.
Is there more to it? There were no extra rewards back then, but in Season 4, completionists will be rewarded. Those who complete the new “Blockbuster Challenge” will receive a secret reward: apparently another legendary skin. However, to get it, you need to complete seven of the ten possible weekly challenges over the course of Season 4. That means a total of seven challenges with seven individual tasks each.
Whatever you end up getting, it is likely to be a worthy accolade for hardcore Fortnite enthusiasts. But until we find out what it is, we will have to wait seven weeks. Only then will the first players be able to have completed all the weekly challenges of the season.
Level 80 is nice and all, but how long does it take to reach this level? The season levels require more experience points with each new level. According to a table on the internet, you need 403,300 experience points for Level 80.
How do I get all these experience points? On Reddit, a user went to the trouble of calculating the XP requirements:
You get a total of 5,000 XP for completing a weekly challenge. That equates to 50,000 experience points over 10 weeks
The complete Battle Pass gives another 5,000 XP
The beginner challenge also gives another 5,000 points
Every day there is a daily challenge worth 500 points. That makes a total of 34,500 XP over 69 days for the entire season
How many XP are there in total? In total, you can earn 94,500 experience points through challenges in Season 4.
How much more grinding do I have to do? This means you need to earn the remaining 308,800 XP through persistent grinding. That would be at least 4,500 XP per day that you need to grind for. Only then will the coveted fully equipped Omega be within reach!
Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) features superheroes as a theme in Season 4. Therefore, there’s a limited game mode where you can become Thanos from the movie Avengers: Infinity War. And he has his glove, the Infinity Gauntlet, with him. This is an official mash-up of Fortnite with Marvel.
What is it about? When it became known that Season 4 of Fortnite would revolve around superheroes, speculation arose. After all, the long-awaited Marvel movie Avengers: Infinity War was released almost simultaneously.
However, the new skins from the Battle Pass resembled DC heroes more than the Avengers. But now Marvel is indeed coming to Fortnite with a big bang!
New “Infinity Gauntlet” game mode makes you Thanos
On May 8, 2018, a new game mode as a mashup between Marvel and Fortnite is set to launch, according to a tweet from Epic. In the tweet, the Level-100 skin Omega and the arch-villain Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War are featured.
How does the new game mode work? According to Entertainment Weekly, this is the first new limited game mode of Season 4. The mode will be called Infinity Gauntlet and will play out like a regular Fortnite round.
The difference is that the Infinity Gauntlet is lying somewhere around. This is Thanos’ glove that he uses to control the 6 Infinity Stones. Whoever finds the glove will immediately become Thanos.
The mode starts tomorrow, Tuesday, likely along with the new challenges around 10:00 or 11:00 AM.
What is a mashup? A “mashup” refers to the combination of two existing contents into a new entity. In this case, the “Infinity Gauntlet” mode is a mix of Fortnite and Marvel.
What do Marvel and Fortnite have in common? Apparently, the directors of the Avengers film, Joe and Anthony Russo, are big Fortnite fans. That’s why they have sought contact with Epic’s creative head Donald Mustard in recent months.
He explained that the two had called him out of the blue and proposed this crazy idea. Mustard says: “We knew that whatever we do, it has to feel right for both Fortnite and Avengers: Infinity War.”
Both sides emphasize how much they enjoy each other’s work and how much mutual respect exists between Fortnite and Marvel. Now they hope that fans will enjoy the collaboration as much as the creative minds behind it.
How could the “Infinity Gauntlet” mode play out in Fortnite?
In the movie, Thanos is the strongest villain in the universe so far. He controls the whole universe with the 6 stones, including space, time, mind, and reality. Therefore, he can wreak all sorts of havoc with a snap of his fingers.
Perhaps the Thanos player is nearly invincible, and it takes the cooperation of all other players to challenge Tanos.
Maybe Thanos is immediately visible to everyone on the map, radically changing the game once he appears in Fortnite.
Perhaps Thanos also has the power to wipe out half of the living players in one go. Then it would be the goal of all players to rush at Thanos immediately.
No matter what Thanos has in store, we will find out on May 8. The “Infinity Gauntlet” mode will launch tomorrow on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Mac, and iOS.
