For many years, this sword was lost in World of Warcraft. With the Pre-Patch 8.0, it is now available again. We will reveal where you can get the Chromatic Blade.
World of Warcraft is full of various weapons and items that have become unobtainable over the years and expansions. One of these weapons is the Chromatic Blade. It dropped in Classic from the rare enemy Scale Belly in Stranglethorn Vale. Now it is back in the game! Scale Belly has the Chromatic Blade in its loot table once more and can drop it.
Where can I find the Chromatic Blade? Just like before, the Chromatic Blade drops from Scale Belly in Stranglethorn Vale. The rare mob is located in the Crystal Mine in the far north. It has a respawn timer of about an hour, and usually, many players gather at its spawn point. Either lie in wait during the night or early morning or rely on a lot of luck and patience.
What makes the Chromatic Blade special? The Chromatic Blade is the only two-handed sword in World of Warcraft that comes with a very special glow. It shimmers in all the colors of the rainbow. This effect cannot even be achieved with weapon enchantments – it is the only blade in World of Warcraft that has this effect.
A gold guarantee in the past. So far, the Chromatic Blade has been valued at up to 6 million gold pieces in the auction house due to its rarity, of course, depending on the respective server. The price is likely to drop rapidly in the coming weeks as the blade will change hands more frequently now.
Have you already snatched up the Chromatic Blade? How full is the space on your server? Do you think it’s good or bad that the weapon is now available again?
The servers of Fortnite will be offline today, July 19, on all platforms (PC / Mac, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Switch). This is not a disruption but a regular maintenance. Although there are no official statements regarding the contents, a long-awaited feature is expected to arrive: gifting skins. How long will the servers be offline? When will the Fortnite servers be back online?
Those who wanted to start the new weekly challenges directly at 10 AM will have to be patient. Epic surprisingly announced a server maintenance that started shortly after.
Servers are offline for maintenance, no disruption – When will the Fortnite servers be back online?
When does the server downtime start? Around 9:30 AM German time, player matchmaking was disabled. At 10:00 AM, the Fortnite servers were subsequently taken offline.

When will the Fortnite servers be back online? For smaller updates, the servers are usually back online after just a few hours, assuming Epic does not face major issues.
Once the servers are back online, you will find out as usual at Mein MMO – just like the patch notes, which are typically released right at the start of the downtime.
What will the update bring to Fortnite: Battle Royale? It is almost certain that players will be able to gift skins to other players after the update. A corresponding option has been in the menus since update 4.5.
It is unknown whether the update will bring new changes to the map, but it is quite possible. In Season 5, Epic is expected to tell a story that can mainly be followed through the changes in the map.
Changes to the golf carts? The golf carts are very popular. Recently, rumors have been circulating that it will soon be possible to dress the carts with skins. Whether and how Epic will implement this functionality today remains to be seen.
What do you think? What features will the update bring?
It doesn’t always have to be a hundred players or more fighting on the battlefield of a shooter. Intense co-op action with four players can also be fun. This is what the upcoming shooter Remnant: From the Ashes on PC, PS4, and Xbox One aims to prove.
Fight for the survival of humanity!
The scenario: In an unspecified future, the world lies in ruins. Creatures from other dimensions have invaded Earth and devastated the blue planet. Humanity is on the brink of extinction.
A brave group of heroes sets out to uncover the secret of the invasion to stop the dark beings and save humanity. But the answer to this salvation is hidden in the other dimensions. You venture forth together with up to three friends to explore these dimensions and defeat the enemies.
Survival meets co-op shooter. Remnant: From the Ashes aims to combine survival elements with shooter action and immerses you in a post-apocalyptic world similar to Fallout 76, but with extradimensional monsters. You fight your way through multiple dimensions and must come up with good team strategies for how to defeat the beings. Because these become more powerful from world to world.
The ideas of the game:
Face new challenges – Throughout your journey through the dimensions, you will encounter increasingly new enemies. These range from small hordes of scare creatures to gigantic monsters. You must learn how to defeat each type of enemy.
Explore dynamic game areas – Each dimension you visit will offer you different landscapes and other creatures that live there. By exploring these places, you gain experience and learn how to survive in the worlds.
Crafting and upgrading – In the various worlds, you will also meet merchants who need your help. If you protect them, they will assist you in crafting new weapons and gear as well as upgrading your existing items. This is essential to take on the increasingly powerful enemies.
Teamplay is important – While it should be possible to play Remnant: From the Ashes solo, you are stronger as a team with up to three co-players. Together you take on the dangerous monsters and manage to survive longer.
Choose a suitable character – When selecting your hero, you have various archetypes to choose from, each with different abilities as well as advantages and disadvantages. These archetypes will be introduced in detail at a later time.
For fans of shooter action, co-op gameplay, survival, and RPGs. Remnant: From the Ashes is not just a shooter that you play cooperatively. The title also mixes in survival elements like surviving in foreign environments and crafting better gear along with RPG features. You can choose an archetype that has specific abilities and also improve these skills.
Remnant targets all players who enjoy multiplayer action, like to enhance their characters, and find some survival elements appealing. However, the action is heavily compressed to provide fast and intense gameplay. For this reason, only four players can play in co-op.
This is not a battle royale shooter with a hundred players or more. Remnant is also not a survival game like Conan Exiles, where you encounter dozens of other players. But it also does not aim to be a pure single-player shooter.
Release? 2019 for PC, PS4, Xbox One
PvP is currently unknown. At the moment there are no indications that there will be any PvP modes. There’s talk of a co-op shooter. Perhaps the developers will announce PvP modes at a later point. This cannot be ruled out.
Gamescom and release. At Gamescom, the developer studio Gunfire Games, the studio behind the upcoming action game Darksiders 3, will release more information about Remnant: From the Ashes. The title is even said to be playable at the fair. The action game is set to be released in 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Switch & Xbox One) received new vehicles in Season 5: the Golf Carts. Dataminers have now found hints of special skins for the all-terrain vehicles.
What are Golf Carts? The new all-terrain vehicles, also known as Golf Carts, have just been added in Season 5 of Fortnite. The vehicles can hold up to four players, are fast, can perform power slides, and even serve as a trampoline for daring jump attacks.
And it’s a blast to zoom around with them! How cool would it be if you could customize the carts to your liking?
Will there be custom Golf Cart cosmetics soon?
Skins for vehicles? The dataminers from FNBRLeaks found hints in the Fortnite code about skins and cosmetics for the carts. Allegedly, there is even a special llama skin for the Golf Cart.
How will skins for vehicles be implemented? If the datamining information is accurate, many fans are wondering: How will that work? The Golf Carts are scattered around the game world and need to be found. You won’t have them from the start.
If there are indeed custom cosmetics for the carts, the following options could be possible:
Epic itself offers different versions of the cart: The llama Golf Carts will be found in special locations or during certain events, and you won’t have any influence over them.
You get a dedicated slot in the locker for vehicle cosmetics: There, you set your favorite skin for the carts before the game. Once you hop into a blank Golf Cart, it will transform into the model you have set.
Is it all just a false alarm? The code lines regarding the vehicle skins might just be remnants of an old concept that Epic is no longer pursuing. Then everything would be moot. We’ll see what else happens with the Golf Carts in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
One of the three major summer events in Pokémon GO is still missing: the Safari Zone in Japan. After that, we will learn what the mysterious “Ultra Bonus” entails. Trainers have long suspected that this is related to the global special research for Celebi.
Celebi appeared exclusively at the GO-Fest 2018 in Chicago: The GO-Fest in Chicago was the second major summer event in Pokémon GO and ended on July 15. Trainers could participate in global challenges to unlock worldwide rewards. There was also an on-site five-part special research that allowed players to encounter and catch Celebi.
When will Celebi’s special research come to the rest of the world? This is still unknown. It is also unclear whether trainers will have to complete the same research tasks as the trainers exclusively in Chicago at the GO-Fest. This included tasks such as catching Icognito. Fans currently assume that Niantic will adjust the tasks for the rest of the world.
The Ultra Bonus and the Safari Zone in Japan are still pending
The third and final summer event of 2018 is the Safari Zone in Japan:The Safari Zone in Yokosuka starts on Wednesday, August 29 and ends on September 2 according to Japanese time. If the goals of the Safari Zone are fulfilled, there will be a Stardust event afterwards.
All events unlock a bonus: Each of the three events unlocks a special bonus when trainers master the global challenges.
For the Safari Zone in Dortmund, there was the Articuno Day,
and we assume that there will be an Moltres Day for the Safari Zone in Japan.
When will the Ultra Bonus come? In a graphic, Niantic hinted at an Ultra Bonus. However, it is still unknown when this will be released and what it entails. Presumably, the Ultra Bonus will come shortly after the conclusion of the Japanese Safari Zone.
There are two fan theories about the Ultra Bonus: Celebi or 4th Generation
Celebi is already in the code of Pokémon GO: The most likely candidate for the Ultra Bonus is indeed the global release of the Celebi special research. The mystical Pokémon has already been found in the code by dataminers.
If Celebi is the Ultra Bonus, it would arrive at the earliest in September: The Safari Zone in Japan ends on September 2. This means that the Ultra Bonus would not be released until after that. Celebi would then be catchable in Germany by the end of the year.
Niantic hinted at the fourth generation shortly before the GO-Fest:In an image recently released by Niantic, the three starters of the fourth generation were shown. However, the Pokémon of this generation have not yet been found in the code. It is conceivable that Niantic might release part of the fourth generation as an Ultra Bonus. However, since Celebi is already in the code, the mystical Pokémon seems more likely.
These are all speculations: Whether Celebi or the fourth generation will come with this special bonus is unknown. Nothing has been officially confirmed by Niantic. It is possible that we will still be surprised.
However, we already know how Celebi will perform in the meta:
After a catastrophic launch on July 10 and an overwhelming amount of negative reviews, the servers for The Culling 2 are going offline again. However, developer Xaviant Games is not giving up. The team already has plans for how to proceed.
The Culling 2 was already dead at launch: It was definitely not a good week for developer Xaviant Games. The many negative responses, refunds, and player numbers in the single digits practically killed their newly released battle royale game “The Culling 2” on release day. And it only got worse from there.
Late Realization
Game going offline: The team announces that The Culling 2 will be taken offline and removed from online stores. The team has come to the realization that The Culling 2 was not the game that the community had hoped for from the studio.
They also apologize for the fact that the relationship between Xaviant and its community has been at such a poor level until now.
Money back? According to a Twitter video, negotiations are currently ongoing with Valve, Sony, and Microsoft to refund purchasers of The Culling 2.
The Culling 1 is coming back: In the Twitter video, Game Director Josh van Veld also announced that the studio wants to return to its roots and pick up work on the first Culling game again. Just at the end of 2017, the team announced they would cease support for “The Culling 1” and develop a successor.
The Culling 1 will be reset to the state of the “Day-One Patch,” which would bring back many perks and the popular “Rock-Paper-Scissors” principle of melee combat into the game.
The new, old “The Culling 1” will be Free-to-Play
Xaviant intends to use this foundation to continue developing the game in collaboration with the community and bring it to a state that satisfies both the developer and the players.
In order to reach a larger audience, The Culling will also be Free-to-Play.
In 2018, there will be a real avalanche of battle royale games:
In FIFA 18, the FUTTIES are coming. As every year, popular players will conquer the Ultimate Team with pink cards. You can find all the known information about the FUTTIES and how it went last year with us.
The probably last event for FIFA 18 starts on July 18th and will bring new cards to the Ultimate Team once again. The FUTTIES. Initial information is expected around 7 PM. We take a look at the proceedings of the event in FIFA 17.
What are FUTTIES? FUTTIES are pink cards of certain players. These are chosen by the community in SBCs and come with improved stats.

Through Squad Building Challenges, or SBCs, the FUTTIES were determined in 10 categories.
For each category, EA Sports presented three candidates.
With the completion of the respective FUTTIES nomination SBC you could vote for your favorite player.
If you completed such an SBC, you were guaranteed a pink card from that player – however, this card had no altered values.
In each category, the player with the most completed nomination SBCs won. The winner was then published in a separate winner SBC. This card received boosted values.
It will probably go this way again this year in FIFA 18. Once EA Sports announces the first voting period, you will have 72 hours to participate in the SBCs. After that, the winner SBC will be live for another 72 hours. Once the 72 hours are up, a new category will take its turn.
What is the duration of the event? The first SBC is expected to start today, July 18, and will last until August 24.
What categories are there?
In the FUTTIES of FIFA 17 there were 10 categories, which will likely be similar in FIFA 18. These were last available for selection:
Rising Star: Which player has made the biggest improvement compared to the previous year?
Two-Footed: Which player has the strongest “weaker foot”?
The Maestro: Which player is the most creative?
Long Shots: Which player makes the best shots from distance?
One-Man Club: Which player is the most loyal to his club?
Class is Permanent: Which player celebrates the biggest comeback?
Heading: Which player makes the best headers?
Engine of the Game: Which player is the biggest fighter on the pitch?
Strong Backup: Which player is the best goalkeeper?
Techniques: Which player has the best tricks?
Tackling Strength: Which player is the best tackler?
The winners of the categories receive a boost to their values, usually 1-3 points. Also, the cards are pink. To receive a card, you must complete the SBCs; there is no other way. Each player can only be chosen once in a specific category.
These players were chosen in FIFA 17
In the last FUTTIES event, many popular players emerged as winners:
Goalkeeper: Jack Butland (Stoke City)
Center Back: Chris Smalling (Manchester United)
Right Back: Serge Aurier (Paris Saint-Germain)
Left Back: Luke Shaw (Manchester United)
Right Midfield: Leroy Sané (Manchester City)
Left Midfield: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)
Central Midfield: Moussa Dembélé (Tottenham Hotspur)
Striker: Ahmed Musa (Leicester City)
Substitute: Alessandro Florenzi (AS Roma)
Rising Star: Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City)
We are excited to see how the FUTTIES will turn out this year.

The last major update for Destiny 2 before the Forsaken expansion is here, bringing numerous changes. We have summarized the five highlights of the update for you.
Leading up to the Forsaken expansion, Destiny 2 recently received its last major planned update. The July patch 1.2.3 brought numerous changes and features, which are meant to make the Guardians’ wait until the fall addon more bearable alongside the upcoming “Solstice of Heroes” event. We summarize the highlights of the July update for you.
The Bounties are back
With the July update, Bounties celebrated their return. These are small tasks from the predecessor, which are now meant to provide more variety in Destiny 2. This gives the Guardians daily tasks to engage in.
The Bounties feature several innovations compared to Destiny 1. For instance, they can expire if not completed in time. Then they can be reactivated at the request for some Glimmer.
With the introduction of the prestige raid sectors, new exotic catalysts have been introduced to the game. In the prestige modes of the Leviathan raid, the Eater of Worlds encounter, and the Spire of Stars sector, Guardians now have the chance to obtain the following catalysts:
After the first wave of six overhauled exotic armor pieces was delivered at the end of May, the July update brought the second batch of revised armor exotics. This time, Bungie adjusted a total of nine armor pieces – three for each Guardian class.
The Crucible is getting some attention again: Valor can now also be earned in Iron Banner, in the competitive playlist, and in the Crucible labs. The Control mode has been removed from Quickplay, and Rumble is now permanently available.
Additionally, Quickplay has now switched from the 4vs4 to the 6vs6 format. And fans chasing Redrix’s Claymore can rejoice: PvP players will now be matched according to their Glory rank.
New in Iron Banner: The Iron Banner will also shine with some novelties in its next appearance. The captured zones will be represented as Iron Temple campfires instead of the standard control flags. Furthermore, there are new Iron Banner-exclusive powerplay rules.
If all three zones are captured, they will be locked for 20 seconds, giving the team a chance to score and collect points. After 20 seconds, all three zones will reset to neutral and must be recaptured.
After months of waiting, players can now also tackle the two sectors of the Leviathan raid in prestige mode. Not only new exotic catalysts are waiting – the prestige passages are also the only way until the Forsaken expansion to acquire weapons with a power level of 400.
While the prestige sectors do not feature new mechanics, they do make life difficult with a limited weapon selection and new modifiers such as Arsenal. This removes all ammunition reserves from your weapons. If you shoot down the magazine of the currently equipped weapon, it reloads the magazine of the next equipped weapon. The spent magazine of your kinetic weapon thus reloads the magazine of your energy weapon, which then reloads the power weapon upon running out of ammunition, and so on.
Fortnite is free in the PvP version, but accounts are traded for hundreds of euros on eBay and other sites. What is behind this?
Account trading is booming! If you search for “Fortnite” on an online marketplace like eBay, you will not only find surprisingly expensive physical editions of the PvE base game but also complete accounts for the PvP version. These are being sold for very high amounts. For instance, we immediately found an account for 360 euros on the auction platform. Prices of 200 euros or more for accounts are not uncommon on eBay.
But why are people selling their accounts and why are they worth so much?
Original skins from Season 1 are particularly sought after
What is so great about the accounts? After all, anyone can create a free Fortnite account and earn plenty of items in the Battle Pass. But there is a catch. Because those who start in Season 5 now will likely never get the skins and emotes from the past four seasons again. So no John Wick, no Visitor, no Omega, and no Rust Lord or Black Knight!
The older, the better: The more outdated an outfit or item is, the more valuable an account with that content is. This is especially true for Season 1. Back then, when Fortnite: Battle Royale was freshly released in September 2017, it certainly didn’t have the millions of players it has today. Rather, it was considered a blatant copy of PUBG. Only comparatively few players were on the island at that time.
The most expensive skins on eBay, Skull Trooper, Ghoul Trooper, and Royal Bomber
Everyone wants the Halloween skin: The available skins back then were quite limited, with only a few new ones being released. Epic only started with the massive skill release later when the game became more popular. Therefore, the skins from that time are very popular. The top seller is the Skull Trooper, a skin that was only available around Halloween 2017.
The rarest skin in the game: Back then, the Halloween outfit wasn’t widely sold, but now, since it hasn’t appeared in almost a year, it is one of the rarest skins in the game. Accounts containing the Skull Trooper are therefore worth a lot of money. On eBay, we found an offer for 600 euros that included the female version, the Ghoul Trooper!
Also highly sought after: the Royal Bomber! The Royal Bomber is also one of the rarest skins in the game, as it is only available if you purchase a specific deal a PS4 Slim together with Fortnite. This outfit is only included in this bundle. Some players have therefore kept only the PlayStation and are selling the Fortnite account with the skin for 100 euros or more.
Why do people sell their account?
What is behind account sales? In addition to unscrupulous hackers, who specifically steal accounts and sell them for a lot of money, there are often players behind the offers who are no longer interested in the battle royale game. Since the early days when everyone stumbled around the map cluelessly and hardly anyone had a clue about building, a lot has changed.
Many players find the skill level too high now. They do not have the time to practice enough to compete with the current super gamers. Therefore, some veteran players are reportedly fed up and are selling their accounts. Since they have plenty of old skins from Season 1, they can look forward to a nice profit.
Is it even legal?
Epic prohibits account trading: Indeed, according to Epic’s terms of service it is not allowed to share your account data. You may not share or sell your player accounts. So it could very well happen that you get banned with your freshly purchased account. Then your expensive purchase was ultimately for nothing.
At the conclusion of the first year of Destiny 2, the Guardians are greeted with the summer event “Solstice of Heroes”. We have summarized how the event will unfold and everything you need to know.
Bungie ends July with the first year of Destiny 2 with the seasonal summer event “Solstice of Heroes”. As part of this event, the Guardians are to celebrate their previous achievements and accomplishments before the upcoming Forsaken expansion. There are numerous new rewards to earn and also to complete the Triumph Moments from Year 1. We have summarized everything important for you.
Solstice of Heroes – The Highlight of Summer in Destiny 2
When does it start?
The Solstice of Heroes starts on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, with the Weekly Reset – at 19:00.
How does the event unfold?
Continuation of the Moments of Triumph: The Solstice event is closely linked to the Triumph Moments from Year 1. These are a series of specific Year 1 challenges that must be completed to earn unique rewards. While many challenges are already live and can be played, the last five challenges will only be available with the Solstice of Heroes and will revolve around the event.
A statue will guide you: Ikora Rey is your contact for the Solstice of Heroes event. She will lead you to the middle of the tower, where the Last City has erected a statue for its heroes. This statue will be the central point for the duration of the event.
The statue will count your progress within the Triumph Moments. The individual triumphs will be tracked via Triumph Bounties that you can also receive from the statue or redeem there for points and rewards after completing them. You will also receive the event gear there, which you can upgrade during this summer festival.
Redux missions: During the event, players can complete specific story missions on a higher difficulty level to work towards armor pieces with a power level of 400. These Redux missions are said to be significantly harder than the regular versions and will be contested in a slightly altered form with different opponents.
Each of these missions can be started in the tower by seeking out and interacting with the corresponding small statue. The following Redux missions are planned for the Solstice event:
Homecoming
Spark
Revenge
1AE
Chosen
By the way:The Armsweek, or the weapon week, which numerous fans suspected as part of the Solstice event, has not been mentioned even once so far. Whether the fans were wrong or Bungie is still holding one or two surprises for the event remains to be seen.
The Rewards
Ceremonial Armors: In addition to the rewards of the Triumph Moments, only the ceremonial armors of the Solstice of Heroes are known so far. These are the destroyed armors that the Guardians wore at the beginning of Destiny 2, when the city fell victim to the Cabal.
These armor sets will be gradually upgraded to a power level of 400: At the statue of heroes, you will first receive the armor set “Scorched” with a power level of 240. For each armor piece, there is a series of tasks that must be completed to upgrade the armor – including in the Redux missions. Once the tasks have been completed, you return to the statue of heroes to start on the next set.
After the broken set is completed, you will receive the “Rekindled” set at power level 340. Again, you must complete a new task list in order to ultimately attain the “Radiant” armor set at a power level of 400. If all corresponding tasks have been completed there, the masterwork version of the armor set will be unlocked.
However, if you like the look of the “Scorched” or “Rekindled” sets and prefer to use those, that is also possible. Each “Radiant” set offers the previous versions of the armor as ornaments. You can decide as you wish how each individual armor piece looks.
Eververse Items: For the duration of the Solstice, there will be a new Solstice Engram in the Eververse. Per account, you can earn three by completing the event milestone for each of your characters. No matter which activity you play in Destiny 2 during the Solstice of Heroes – you will receive a Solstice Engram in addition to the regular Glimmer Engram for each level-up.
During this period, as well as during the Crimson Week, a knockout system will be active. This means: You will receive new items from the event engrams until you have collected all the Solstice event items. Only then will there be duplicates.
From the Solstice Engrams, you can also obtain armor glows. These cosmetics can be applied to any version of the Solstice armor sets. Armor glows will be permanently unlocked after receiving and shine brightest when the focus element of the respective Guardian class matches the element of the glow.
In Guild Wars 2, a familiar old event returns: The Festival of the Four Winds! But what is new, and how has the festival changed? We asked the developers from ArenaNet in an interview.
What is the Festival of the Four Winds? This event was introduced in 2014. At that time, the faction of the Zephyrites was introduced. These were traveling mystics with airships, who could gain special powers with “aspect crystals”.
During the festival, you could test these powers in various mini-games and quests, thus receiving valuable rewards. There were events in the Crown Pavilion, at the Labyrinth Cliffs, and the Queen’s Gauntlet with unique bosses.
The Developers in Interview
The event is finally returning on July 24, 2018. Many fans have wished for this. But what’s new, and what changes? Mein MMO was able to interview ArenaNet employees Joe Kimmes (Team Lead) and Matthew Medina (Designer).
Mein MMO: Will the new mounts make the aspect crystals and their powers obsolete? Or will there be a “No-Mount” zone?
Joe Kimmes: One of our main goals for the event was to allow mounts and gliders in the festival areas. It’s a lot of fun to explore the Labyrinth Cliffs with mounts, and since you can dismount and use the crystals at any time, you can alternate between the two styles as needed. Players without mounts will not be excluded – just like in previous festivals, you can borrow mounts temporarily if you don’t have one yet.
Matthew Medina: Although you can reach all spots with mounts where you can also go with the aspects, there are plenty of narrow edges and thin paths at the cliffs that you can reach better with the precise movements of the aspects. Therefore, we have redesigned the cliffs a bit to ensure that players can use the mounts.
We wanted to make sure that players can use the movement style they prefer. So there will be no “No-Mount” zone in the Labyrinth Cliffs. However, there is a limit in the Crown Pavilion (to prevent boss exploits).
Mein MMO: What can we say about the balancing in the Queen’s Gauntlet? Will it be too easy with the new elite skills? Will there be new challenges?
Joe Kimmes: One of the goals with the return of the Gauntlet was to not make the existing fights too much harder – after all, it should be easier than last time for players who have worked hard to improve their gear and skills. Nevertheless, we made the opponents a bit stronger so they are not too easy for our experienced players.
This applies only to the old bosses – once you have taken down the first set of existing bosses, a new set of five new special bosses will be unlocked that you can approach in any order. These modern fights are designed to pose a threat to experienced players. The skills of our players impress me every time; I’m curious how they perform from the spectator’s ring.
Mein MMO: Will there be new content for the festival? Many things from the old festival are already firmly established in the game.
Joe Kimmes: We took the opportunity and expanded the festival with new activities, including races and a new meta-event based on Amnoon’s Casino Blitz. The old beloved events, like Boss Blitz, will of course return. There’s a lot of work involved in fixing the bugs that have arisen over the years.
Mein-MMO: What rewards can we expect?
Joe Kimmes: We have a large set of new rewards, including new weapons, armor, and toys that you can earn in the festival activities. Additionally, there are festival tokens and achievements. You can also still get items from the last festival if you missed them or couldn’t get them otherwise.
Additionally, the Zephyrite trading chests have been updated with new ultra-rare items. They are still very rare, but maybe you will get lucky this year?
Mein-MMO: What will the story of the new festival be? Is it relevant to the current story?
Joe Kimmes: One thing I wanted to show in the festival is the state of the Zephyrites. The last time you saw them, they were in the midst of a terrible catastrophe on the Dry Top. By showing how they have recovered from that, we bring the story to a satisfying conclusion, and this will certainly not be the last we see of their culture.
However, the festival will not directly influence the current story – we plan for it to return every year, so it’s not tied to the ongoing story.
Matthew Medina: There will be a light story wrapping for the festival, but it isn’t necessary for players to have more than basic story knowledge. Festivals are open to all players, and there is enough story that can be packed into a specific timeframe. It’s a chance for the Commander [your hero] to relax and unwind.
Mein-MMO: Some fans are already complaining about the oversupply of events and festivals. So why are you bringing back an old event?
Joe Kimmes: The team has spent a lot of time over the last two years working on the annual festivities, aiming to make them reliable, fun, and promising.
However, when we look at the existing festivals, we see that there’s a long gap during the summer months between the Super Adventure Box in April and Halloween in October. The Festival of the Four Winds, with its sunny beaches and team spirit among the races, was the perfect choice.
That’s it for our interview with the developers. The new Festival of the Four Winds kicks off on July 24, 2018!
Four new cards showcase the power of “Magnetic” in Hearthstone – they overshadow all other “buff cards”!
After Blizzard introduced the upcoming expansion for Hearthstone a few days ago, things have gone quiet around Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab (“The Boomsday Project”). Now, the developers have released a new video discussing four fresh mechs that will cause chaos in Hearthstone starting August 7.
The Expandable Base Bot is a mech minion for 2 mana with stats of 1/5. By itself, it can do little, but for its low cost, it is quite stable, making it the perfect foundation to be upgraded later with other cards.
The Robotic Powerhouse, on the other hand, is a 5/5 mech for 5 mana with the magnetic keyword. It can thus be played either as a standalone 5/5 minion or connect with an existing mech – basically a better, neutral version of Blessing of Kings!
The Beryllium Nullifier is a mech only for warriors. It costs 7 mana, has stats of 3/8, is magnetic, and cannot be targeted by spells or hero powers. As an extension or base for other mechs, it creates a minion that is nearly unstoppable!
Zilliax is likely the “ultimate” upgrade for many mechs. For 5 mana, it has stats of only 3/2, but it brings a whole stack of keywords: Magnetic, Divine Shield, Taunt, Lifesteal, and Rush. Whoever is bolstered by it will likely contribute significantly to victory.
Details on the “Magnetic” mechanic
Also new are specific indications of how the new keyword “Magnetic” will function. For its operation, it is essential how you play a minion with “magnetic”! If a card with “magnetic” is played to the right of another mech, it will appear as a standalone minion on the board and will not connect with the other mech.

However, if the “magnetic” card is played to the left of the mech, it merges with the mech and adds its stats as well as card texts to the already existing minion. This gives players more flexibility and freedom of choice on how they want to utilize their magnetic cards.
What do you think of the new “Magnetic” mechanic? A cool, sensible addition? Or completely overpowered?
In Fortnite, developer Epic is taking action against a blatant, underage cheater. The mother defended him in a letter to the court, but fails with the tactic in court. This is likely serious for the 14-year-old.
This is the backstory: A 14-year-old was sued by Epic. He is accused of promoting a hack for Fortnite on YouTube. When Epic had the video taken down, the boy appealed against it. Subsequently, Epic filed a lawsuit. At that time, the company behind Fortnite did not yet know that the cheater was a minor. However, they had him investigated by private detectives.
In the letter, the mother demanded that the court dismiss the lawsuit. She cited, among other things, that minors cannot enter into a legally binding contract. They would need parental consent for that. She had not given it.
Court sees letter as a submission: The court interpreted the informal letter from the mother as a motion to dismiss the lawsuit. This made it necessary for Epic to respond. This has now also happened. The court has now made a decision on whether the lawsuit will be dismissed or not.
Court rejects motion to dismiss
The lawsuit from Epic is valid: The judge ruled in favor of Epic. According to the judge, the court must hold such decisions in a light that appears advantageous to the accuser. In that sense, Epic’s motion is plausible, and the mother’s objection is dismissed.
What happens next? The mother now has 14 days to respond to the situation and draft a reply to Epic’s lawsuit. Otherwise, Epic may request a default judgment.
Probably just a slap on the wrist: It is believed that Epic will not demand exorbitant sums here, but rather that the goal is to resolve the case. With previous cheaters, Epic has settled out of court. However, the legal dispute with the 14-year-old has been dragging on for months.
Gamers hate cheaters more than they sympathize with a 14-year-old
This is what it’s really about: The mother probably expected that Epic would shy away from the public reaction of “Oh God, the evil company is suing a poor 14-year-old” and retract. But Epic did not receive any backlash for this. Instead, most gamers say: “They should sue that little brat properly.” The aversion to cheaters here is greater than the sympathy for a 14-year-old. Especially since the 14-year-old has behaved quite brazenly.
The whole crazy story about the 14-year-old cheater and what he actually did has been summarized here:
There is news from Ubisoft and the player numbers. The Crew 2 performs quite similarly to its predecessor, so it’s not exactly breaking new ground. However, For Honor is significantly larger than many think. Overall, Ubisoft had a strong quarter from April to June 2018.
Ubisoft Business Report – Oh la la: Ubisoft can present good figures in the business report for Q1 2018/2019 (via ubistatic). This is the quarter from April to the end of June 2018. In that time, they earned 466.5 million US dollars. This surpasses expectations. Ubisoft mainly attributes this to older games, the so-called “Back Catalog”, where they certainly have For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege in mind.
Old games contribute to success – 3 new ones are ready: At Ubisoft, they see this as confirmation of the strategic shift to “Games as a service”. They publish fewer games than before, but they support them for years; developing and monetizing them further. For the future, they see themselves well-positioned with titles like:
PS4 is the most important platform for Ubisoft: Ubisoft makes most of its money on the PS4 (38%), the PC is at 24%, Xbox One is in third place with 22%, and the Switch is at 5%, while mobile accounts for another 8%. The PC has thus surpassed the Xbox One, which was still the second strongest platform for Ubisoft a year ago.
Not exactly thrilling: At the end of June, “The Crew 2” was released to rather mixed reviews. There hasn’t been much news about the game so far. It is said that The Crew 2 performs about as well as part 1 in terms of active users. That doesn’t sound very encouraging.
The Crew 2 still lacks a lot: Ubisoft admits that players expected content and features that are still missing. This mainly refers to PvP content. To retain players, Ubisoft will need to step up with The Crew 2. At Gamescom, they plan to present a roadmap.
For Honor huge
10 million play For Honor: The game that was already written off as a flop, “For Honor”, is enjoying good health. In February, Ubisoft announced that 7.5 million players were registered and 1 million play daily. The number of registered players has now risen to 10 million. For 2018, Ubisoft even announced a 4th faction for “For Honor” at E3.
In The Coming Storm, players can expect a major content update in the Open Beta of Dauntless that throws the city of Ramsgate into chaos.
The big update is coming
A major change. An Ostian Dreadnought crashes in the city of Ramsgate, the central hub of the online action RPG Dauntless. Large parts of the city are destroyed, even visually reshaping it. However, the crash also brings good things, as you’ll meet a variety of new NPCs who have more quests for you. The Ostians are also carrying interesting new items:
New explosive grenades
The Ostian Repeater as the first real ranged weapon
Craft the Ostian items yourself
The Behemoth Koshai, Sovereign of Thorns, is coming! You will also need the Ostian weapons right away, as a new Behemoth named Koshai, Sovereign of Thorns, appears. This is a creature like you have never seen before. Koshai itself not only presents a significant challenge, but it also has the ability to influence and alter other Behemoths.
Other Behemoths change their behavior under Koshai’s influence
The Behemoths mutate and change their form
Even the monsters whose behavior you have already studied will become difficult to crack again
When does The Coming Storm start? The big update will be deployed on August 9. Then you can expect new challenges and features that should make the Free-to-Play game Dauntless even more interesting.
2 million players in the beta. The developers of Dauntless are also pleased to have gained over 2 million players since the beta started in May. The monster-hunter-like action RPG has thus already become a major success even in beta!

Until July 23, the rewards of the GO Fest 2018 in Pokémon GO are still active. Among them is a reward that allows you to receive double candies. Here are tips on how to best utilize the many candies.
The trainers managed to complete all global challenges during the GO Fest 2018 and thus unlocked worldwide rewards. In this article, we will discuss how to get the most out of these rewards before the event expires.
What are the rewards? Trainers receive:
1 special candy for winning raid battles
more hatching experience points
a reduced hatching distance
double candies for catching and hatching Pokémon
How long are the rewards active? Until July 23
Prepare for the developments of Generation 4
There are rare Pokémon among them: Recently, Niantic gave a hint about the fourth generation in Pokémon GO. So far, we do not know when they will make it into the game. However, since some rare developments are among them, it is advisable to start collecting candies as early as possible. The double candies can be a great relief if you encounter a rare species. Here are all the developments listed, along with an estimate of the required candies:
The Pokémon in parentheses are their respective developments from the fourth generation.
Utilize field research for …
Slurpuff (Slurp): Slurpuff appears rarely in the wild. Therefore, try to complete the field research “Use 5 berries when catching Pokémon.” After finishing the task, Slurpuff will appear as a meeting. In addition to the double candies, Slurpuff will not be able to flee here and will also have good IVs.
Utilize nests for …
Electabuzz (Elekid), Magmar (Magby), Shuppet (Duskull), Sneasal (Weavile) and Drifloon (Drifblim): These Pokémon are also quite rare in the wild. However, they all appear in nests. If a nest with these Pokémon appears in your area, you should visit them and secure double candies for these rarities.
Snorunt (Froslass), Roselia (Roserade), Yanma (Yanmega), Magneton (Magnezone), Swablu (Altaria), Glalie (Froslass), Rhyhorn (Rhydon): These Pokémon hardly appear in most biomes. Biomes determine which Pokémon or type of Pokémon appears at the fixed spawn points. However, they appear a bit more frequently in their own biomes – especially when they receive a weather boost of their own type. For a grass-type Pokémon, that would be sunny/clear.
Trapinch (Vibrava), Tangela (Tangrowth), Skorupi (Drapion): These three Pokémon also rarely appear in most biomes. Only that they are additionally rare in their own biomes and the weather boost contributes little to their spawn.
Hatching eggs for …
Porygon (Porygon-Z) and Togetic (Togekiss): These Pokémon are extremely difficult to find in the wild. Here you have the greatest chances when hatching eggs. For this, you also get the double candy bonus.
Boosting meta-relevant Pokémon
From level 30, the candy costs for a power-up are quite high: If you have progressed further in Pokémon GO, you want to use the double candies to strengthen meta-relevant Pokémon. Pokémon in the meta are either good attackers or defenders in gyms.
Geodude and Machop: Have strong evolutions with Golem and Machamp. Golem is a strong attacker in Zapdos raids. Machamp is currently the best fighting Pokémon.
Larvitar and Chansey: Tyranitar is one of the strongest Pokémon in GO and Blissey is a feared defender. Especially for Tyranitar, you will need a lot of candies to maximize its strength.
Use raids for maximum candies: You will receive the most candies from catching during raids. Golem, Machamp, and Tyranitar will drop 20 candies until the end of the event (July 23). Using Razz Berries, you can even get more.
Reduced hatching distance is beneficial for candies
Hatching Pokémon also brings double candies: You should activate your incubators during the event, as this also increases candy production. For this event, it is advisable to use the Super Incubator, as the distances are drastically reduced. You also increase your chances of encountering Pokémon like Togepi, which you can only obtain through hatching.
These are the reduced hatching distances of the GO Fest rewards:
Normal Distance
Halved Distance
Super Incubator
2 KM
1 KM
0.67 KM
5 KM
2.5 KM
1.67 KM
7 KM
3.5 KM
2.33 KM
10 KM
5 KM
3.33 KM
Use Razz Berries: If you have these berries in stock, use them during the event. They quadruple the candies you can earn from the event. For example, with a basic form, you get 3 candies. With the event, that becomes 6 candies, and by using the berry, you get a total of 12 candies.
This means you can get 40 Larvitar candies at once for strong Pokémon like Tyranitar. It’s worth it!
Also, keep in mind that Saturday (July 21) is Zapdos Day:
One of the rewards that can be obtained in Monster Hunter: World from the crossover event with Final Fantasy XIV is the armor of a Dragoon and the glaive Gae Bolg. What these two items are and where they come from, you can find out here.
In developing the crossover event, the developers of both games paid great attention to detail. The monsters should not feel out of place in their new environment, while still remaining true to their original substance.
The developers of Final Fantasy XIV decided to hand over the monster Behemoth and the Dragoon armor to Monster Hunter: World. But what exactly is a Dragoon?
The concept of a Dragoon in the Final Fantasy games has evolved over the years. It began with Final Fantasy II and the character Ricard Highwind (also Garreth), who was the last surviving Dragoon of the city of Deist.
Kain Highwind
However, the character Kain Highwind from FFIV is considered the prototype of the classic Dragoons, whose armor also served as a model for all other Dragoons in the series.
What is special about the Dragoons? As the name suggests, Dragoons in Final Fantasy have always had a close connection to dragons. They are known for either riding dragons or having smaller dragons as companions, as was the case in FFXI. The armor of the Dragoons has also been designed to remind the player of a dragon – with many scales and spikes.
When choosing their weapon, Dragoons prefer spears or lances, which allow them to execute their iconic ability “Jump.” The Dragoon can jump extremely high into the sky and then dive down in a strong attack on their opponents.
The Dragoon armor used in Monster Hunter: World is known as “Artifact Armor” and the weapon is the Gae Bolg, the relic weapon of the Dragoons.
The role of Dragoons in Final Fantasy XIV
In FFXIV, the Dragoons deviated slightly from the normal pattern of dragon riders and friends. The story of the Heavensward expansion tells of a 1,000-year-long war between the dragon race and the nation of Ishgard, where the Dragoons are regarded as elite fighters.
The Dragoons and dragons are bitter enemies in the scenario. However, as the story unfolds, it turns out that not everything is as simple as it appears at first glance.
Why Dragoon specifically? FFXIV features many interesting and cool-looking jobs.
In their decision, the developers considered lore and gameplay, both important aspects of Monster Hunter: World.
The Elder Dragons play a significant role in MHW, and the Dragoons have a strong affinity with dragons.
Dragoons are well-suited for aerial combat and fighting on monster backs thanks to their jumps. It’s a gameplay mechanic that connects them with the glaive in MHW.
Additionally, Dragoons have a higher recognition and nostalgia value for fans of the series than almost any other class from Final Fantasy games.
This is what the monster Behemoth looks like from Final Fantasy XIV in Monster Hunter: World:
From Fortnite, there’s not just the PvP mode “Battle Royale”. In addition, you can also play the game in the PvE coop “Save the World”. In this mode, you can earn V-Bucks for free. So is it worth buying the paid PvE game?
What is Save the World? This name refers to the PvE mode of Fortnite. At the release in 2017, it was even the only mode available. Battle Royale was added later. In Save the World, there is no PvP. Instead, you face hordes of zombies alone or with up to three friends.
You have a limited time on a specific map to gather resources and build fortifications. Then the zombies come, storming your barricades. If you fend them off, you will receive rewards.
PvE on Sale: Save the World still costs €39.99. Epic announced that it would be made free-to-play in 2018, but this has not happened yet. However, until July 30, 2018, you can get the game for half price at €19.99!
Why should you play Save the World?
Is Save the World worth it for PvP fans? One thing should be clear: Save the World is a different game than Battle Royale. Instead of constantly killing each other, you work as a team and fight AI opponents. Additionally, the action is more relaxed. The zombies run foolishly into your traps, so you need to set them up tactically and create true kill corridors.
So you’re not constantly in acute danger because a single zombie won’t take you down immediately. But even if you do not come to terms with this gameplay, there’s a good reason for PvP fans to play Save the World.
The answer is: Free V-Bucks! The premium currency V-Bucks from Save the World also counts for PvP. And unlike the rather marginal amounts from the Battle Pass, there’s really a lot to gain in PvE. So if you’re willing to invest a lot of time in farming, you can make a killing in PvE.
How to get lots of V-Bucks from the PvE mode!
Even at the reduced price, Fortnite: Save the World costs you €19.99. From this, you would already get 2,000 V-Bucks. To make the game worthwhile, you need to earn more than 2,000 Bucks. But don’t worry, it’s easier than you think!
V-Buck Tip #1 – Just Log In!
A very simple method to get free Bucks: Just log in every day! You will receive daily rewards for logging in, including V-Bucks! Starting on day eleven, you’ll already get the first 50 Bucks. Then it increases more and more. If you log in for a total of 336 days, you’ll receive a total of 10,000 V-Bucks!
With this, the game is already more than worth it and you don’t have to play Save the World even once. Just logging in for a second is enough. Make this a part of your morning routine and just log in quickly while brushing your teeth.
V-Buck Tip #2 – Play the Main Story
If you already have Save the World, you can also play it! At least the main story quests are quite fun. They tell a lighthearted story and regularly provide V-Bucks as rewards. It’s best to check beforehand which quests give Bucks and complete those.
The Storm Shield defenses are particularly worthwhile, providing at least 100 Bucks.
V-Buck Tip #3 – Complete Daily Quests
Every day there are new tasks: This way, you can earn at least 50 V-Bucks every day. You can also swap out quests that don’t yield anything for you. If you have the patience to play a bit more Save the World, you can also get a few extra Bucks here. Around 350 Bucks in a week are possible this way.
V-Buck Tip #4 – Use the Collection Book
What is the Collection Book? In Save the World, a lot is about collecting items and other stuff. These can then be immortalized in a kind of sticker album. They may be permanently lost, but you get points and level up in the book.
From level 6, there are 500 Bucks as a reward. At level 26, there are even another 500! And you will find enough items to put in the book if you play Save the World reasonably seriously.
You can see, it’s worth spending a few rounds in Save the World, even as a PvP fan. So take advantage while it’s still on sale! The promotion ends on July 30!
During Ubisoft’s financial conference on July 17, details about the beta registrations for The Division 2 were revealed. These suggest that the sequel to The Division could be similarly successful.
The Division 2 is still a while away. Many fans are looking forward to the continuation of the online shooter, which is already reflected in initial numbers. At a financial conference, Yves Guillemot, President and CEO of Ubisoft, announced that the beta of the online shooter has already set a record from its predecessor.
Meanwhile, The Division 1 was already an extremely successful game: Even the then beta broke with 6.4 million participants the record for the most registered players. At launch, a sales record was also set, and The Division became the most successful game in Ubisoft’s history, having been played by over 20 million players since its release on March 8, 2016 in total.
Beta record of The Division 1 set: Apparently, The Division 2 is still highly anticipated by many players. According to Yves Guillemot, never before have so many players signed up for a beta in such a short time. Not only that, the number surpasses the previous record of the first part by four times!
So far, a whopping 25.6 million players have registered for the beta. An incredible number. Thus, the beta of The Division 2 sets the internal record of the first part.
How this will reflect in the sales figures of The Division 2 is still uncertain. A similarly big success as with The Division 1 would be a significant signal to the competition.
On July 17, 2018, the race for the World First Raid Clear in the Prestige version of the Gauntlet passage started at Destiny 2. After only about 20 minutes, the first team was already finished. Fans view the new Prestige track with mixed feelings.
World First Clear of the 1st Prestige Track – More of a Sprint than a Race
Once again Redeem: In just over 20 minutes, the race or rather the sprint for the World First Clear was already over. Once again, it was the team from the famous Redeem clan with the support of YouTuber Gigz who claimed the title.

Prestige innovations not a real obstacle: Even the new modifier Prestige: Arsenal could not really slow down the experienced Guardians. This modifier is quite something: it removes all ammunition reserves from your weapons. When you empty the magazine of the currently equipped weapon, the magazine of the next summoned weapon is loaded. The expended magazine of your kinetic weapon reloads the magazine of your energy weapon, which then in turn reloads the power weapon when emptied, and so on.
The limited weapon choice, however, did not pose a serious obstacle. The team was restricted to a kinetic pulse rifle, an energy submachine gun, and a grenade launcher in the power slot.

The community views the new Prestige track with mixed feelings: Gigz himself said on Twitter that while a new challenge is always cool and there’s now a reason to play the raid tracks again, he personally prefers the classic Prestige experience – with new mechanics and a higher difficulty level. This opinion is shared by many other fans – even though many wonder why it took nearly nine months for such minor changes.
To everyone’s surprise, it apparently is also not intended to use one of the announced features of the Prestige tracks as expected. Thus, the Prestige passages of the Gauntlet and the World Eater offer exclusive weapons as a reward with a power level of 400. However, these firearms are apparently not intended to be infused into other weapons. Fans are not very pleased about this.
