In light of the many theories about the next expansion, we shed light on the background story of one of Warcraft’s most beloved characters: Jaina Proudmoore.

Jaina Proudmoore is the youngest child of Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, the former ruler of the island nation Kul Tiras. From an early age, she developed a passion for magic and, above all, for the stories surrounding Aegwynn, the Guardian of Tirisfal.
When it turned out that Jaina also possessed magical talent, she was sent to Dalaran for training. She became the pupil of Archmage Antonidas and was thus one of the few female mages trained in Dalaran – female mages were mocked and feared for various reasons at that time.
In Dalaran, she also first came into contact with the prince of the blood elves, Kael’Thas Sunstrider. He fell in love with her but was consumed by doubts – after all, he was several centuries old and she was only a few decades.
Also in Dalaran, Jaina had her first contact with the human prince Arthas Menethil, who had to visit the city of mages repeatedly due to his royal heritage. A friendship developed that later blossomed into love. However, Arthas ended the relationship because it was not “the right time”. The idea was that Jaina could focus on her studies more. Although she was hurt by the decision, there was no contradiction.
“I am not a warrior” – The purging of Stratholme
Only with the outbreak of the plague at the beginning of the Third War (Warcraft III) did Jaina and Arthas meet again. Jaina was to accompany the prince and find out for Archmage Antonidas whether the plague had a magical origin. The joint journey rekindled the romance between the two – albeit briefly.
As more and more cities were ravaged by the plague and their inhabitants turned into undead servants of the Scourge, the two began to slowly drift apart. While Jaina wanted to isolate the infected from the rest of the people to find a cure, Prince Arthas chose a different path.
After Arthas ensured that the city of Stratholme was infected with the plague and the inhabitants were showing initial symptoms, he decided to cleanse the entire city – almost all the inhabitants were executed in the process.
Jaina decided to no longer follow Arthas down this path; she separated from him. Jaina heeded the words of the Guardian Medivh that she should “lead her people westward to the forgotten land of Kalimdor.” And that is exactly what she did.
“It’s getting a bit creepy here” – The defense of Hyjal
Upon arriving in Kalimdor, Jaina did not find the promised land but much territory controlled by the orcs. She took a stand in the Stonetalon Mountains and tried to defend herself against the orcs led by Grom Hellscream, who had succumbed to a blood frenzy under the influence of demonic blood. Ultimately, Jaina’s troops were defeated, and she fled with a small expedition into the mountains where she met the Tauren Cairne Bloodhoof and the Orc Thrall.
Before a fight could break out, Medivh revealed himself and explained that the races needed to cooperate because they were not “the real enemy”. The cooperation hung by a thread, and there was no real trust between the forces. Nevertheless, Jaina helped Thrall capture Grom’s essence and free him from the demonic influence.
Afterward, trust grew, but there was no time for a breather. Attacks by the undead and night elves continually caused conflicts. Only after a vision from Thrall were he and Jaina able to locate the leaders of the night elves, Tyrande Whisperwind and Malfurion Stormrage,. Once again, Medivh explained to all participants that they needed to cooperate to stop the Burning Legion, which was on the verge of invasion.

In FIFA 19, the closed beta is approaching. The beta codes are now being sent out. Here is all the info for players from Germany.
The FIFA 19 beta is only for invited guests: In mid-August, the beta for FIFA 19 will take place. This is a “closed beta” – meaning only those players who have received an invitation from EA Sports can participate.
Invitations are now being sent: Since August 8th, EA Sports has been sending out beta codes via email. This code is required to participate in the beta and to get an early look at FIFA 19.
How do I get a beta code for FIFA 19?
Here’s the bad news up front: For us in Germany, the outlook for beta codes is very bleak. The beta is intended for players from the UK and North America.
These are the requirements to receive a beta code:
The console account must be from the UK or North America
You must be at least 18 years old
You need an account on PS4 or Xbox One
You must have played FIFA 18 regularly
You must have granted permission in the EA account settings to allow EA to send you emails.
Even if you meet all these conditions, you will still need a good dose of luck to be selected. Because the beta codes are strictly limited.
So we in Germany are left empty-handed. It is also difficult for players from German-speaking countries to obtain a beta code “through other means.” The codes are tied to the respective EA account. In other words, a code alone is not enough. You also need access to the account to which it is linked.
When does the beta start, what are the contents?
The beta starts according to the already sent emails on August 10th at 6 PM: The beta lasts for 10 days and ends on August 20th.
On which platforms is the beta available? The FIFA 19 beta is exclusive to PS4 and Xbox One. It is not available for PC, Switch, or last-gen consoles.
Which game modes are playable in the beta? Pro Clubs, Career, Ultimate Team, and Kick-off. However, each player only gets access to the Kick-off and one of the other modes. For example, one might receive an invitation email for Kick-off and Career mode. The other modes cannot then be played. Normally, one gets access to the mode they played the most in FIFA 18.
The progress made in the beta will not carry over to the full version.
What is the purpose of a FIFA 19 beta? The purpose of the beta is to test the game modes and gameplay, send feedback to EA, and allow developers to make the necessary final adjustments just before the release of FIFA 19.

To celebrate the now over 500 million sold PlayStation consoles, Sony is releasing a special transparent PS4 Pro anniversary edition dedicated to this milestone. This is what the latest addition to the PS4 family looks like.
Over the last decades, Sony has sold more than 500 million consoles and handhelds to date. The Japanese company wants to celebrate this event, among other things, with a specially designed limited edition of a PS4 Pro.
What’s inside: The bundle includes a PS4 Pro console with a 2 TB hard drive and comes in a dark blue, transparent glossy finish. The interior will be bathed in blue light once the console is turned on.
Additionally, a transparent DualShock 4 wireless controller, a PlayStation camera, a transparent stand as well as a headset in matching dark blue look are included.

Excitement already at the announcement: When it was announced yesterday that the gameplay for Red Dead Redemption 2 would be released today, players in the community were particularly excited. Many are looking forward to finally seeing the first gameplay scenes from RDR 2.
Epic has responded to fan criticism and adjusted the balance of Fortnite. Today, on August 9th, a hotfix went live for Fortnite, which makes some adjustments to the balance of weapons and building. The P90 and the drum gun are on the chopping block. We show you the patch notes in English.
What Epic has done: Epic has made some changes to Fortnite’s balance. Building is to be strengthened again and two super weapons, the submachine gun (the P90) and the drum gun are to be weakened.
Epic says that every weapon should fulfill its purpose. Also, building should be effective and useful in fights. This is apparently in jeopardy in close combat, which is why Epic believes it needs to adjust the balance here.

What is the idea behind this? Players have complained that they can no longer protect themselves through building. It should now be more difficult to shoot through walls, even when they have just been built.
This is how Epic weakens the submachine gun
The submachine gun does instead of 22/21 only 21/20 damage (at legendary and epic)
The magazine size decreases from 50 to 40
This is how Epic weakens the drum gun
At 3500 length units, the damage drops to 70% (previously 80%)
At 5000 length units, the damage drops to 55% (previously 65%)
Damage reduction for environmental projects now matches that for players
Aim accuracy while jumping decreases by an additional 5%

And the drum gun is 40% rarer in chests and on the ground
What is behind this? The drum gun and the P90 were probably the two strongest weapons in Fortnite recently. Both were too strong at short and medium range and could especially dismantle buildings quickly. Previously, only the minigun was suitable for this.
The two top weapons are to be toned down with the patch so that other weapons also have their justification.
When is this going live? The patch is already live. However, Epic reserves the right to change the balance again if further feedback arises or if problems are seen.
In the Combat livestream, Bungie showcased some new features aimed at refreshing the Crucible in Destiny 2 with the upcoming expansion. PvP will change with Forsaken.

PvP will be faster with Forsaken: The PvP modes in Destiny 2 seem to be getting closer to the predecessor with the upcoming expansion. Stormcaller Warlocks will be pleased with a damage buff
The Warlock Rifts will also be strengthened. The Healing Rift will restore more health to counteract the reduced Time-to-Kill. The Empowering Rift will now also boost precision damage in PvP
The Titan’s Bubble might once again become an alternative to the Captain America shield with Forsaken: The Titan’s Dome is expected to last longer and provide increased melee damage to the Titan and allies within the Bubble

What does this mean? This means that the rumors about the Samsung-Epic deal are probably half true.
It seems that Fortnite Android will initially be exclusive to Samsung, but not just for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, as previously thought, but for a range of Samsung Galaxy phones.
Is the APK download legal? The download cannot be recommended. Especially since no Android servers are online yet. While some are already playing by inviting friends, that’s not very great.
Bypassing Google Play: The leak of the APK was possible because Epic decided to skip the “Google Play” store for Android. And Fortnite prefers to distribute manually through the APK download. They wanted to save the 30% that Google would otherwise take from the revenue.
Security experts had already warned that this could lead to problems with “pirate” versions and the like. Also, scams regarding the APK download could easily spread this way.
When will Fortnite be officially released for Android?
When does it officially start? In just a few hours, the “Samsung Unpacked” will start. It begins at 5:00 PM our time.
It could be that the “official” download of the APK for Fortnite Mobile goes live later tonight. And with it the servers.

Update 5:44 PM: Indeed, the beta of Fortnite on Android has already started.
One of the main features of Battle for Azeroth will not be available immediately upon the release of the new expansion of World of Warcraft. A community manager has confirmed this.
