In Destiny 2, Bungie once again demonstrated how to artificially extend the launch phase. With clever time gates and scarcity of items, the “launch week” becomes a “launch month,” but this phase will soon be over, says our author Schuhmann.
That’s not how you do it: In September 2017, a “classic launch phase” could be observed in Destiny 2. The game was released, players dove into the campaign, rushed to reach max level, and had a lot of fun discovering new things and becoming increasingly powerful.
But just a few days later, the campaign was completed, players had all the gear they wanted, and the feeling was: “Nothing is happening here anymore.”
The initial euphoria was replaced by a cold realization: Destiny 2 had nothing more to offer us after the initial rush of the new.
While the experience was acceptable for “casual players,” it disappointed the veterans from Destiny 1. They had planned to set up their tents in Destiny 2 and engage with the game for months. That was not possible.
Destiny 2 quickly became stale.
Launch phase of Forsaken turned into a launch month

This is the key: The core element for this “extended launch phase” is relying on “time-gated content.” These are pieces of content that players cannot access in the first week but will be unlocked after several weeks.
In Destiny 2, the key was the “Dreaming City.”
With the delayed opening of the raid “Last Wish” and the death of the final boss there, a curse was set in motion that changed the Dreaming City in the following weeks.
Stretching content helps: Additionally, Destiny 2 has become much harder with Forsaken. It takes a long time to reach the max level.
During the leveling period, players always feel like there is still something to achieve and strive for. There are so many activities, so much to do.
The random rolls with Forsaken are also meant to ensure that players still have goals even after reaching 600. Optimizing a character by just a few fractions of a percent is enough for players to set goals.
Forsaken makes it interesting again to experiment with certain item combinations to discover new facets of gameplay.

Destiny 2 will likely become easier in the coming months: Bungie seems to be following this strategy with Forsaken as well: They start off stingy and gradually turn the loot valve. However, with Destiny 2’s release, they made the mistake of being too generous from the start.

How long will this last? Bungie likely doesn’t have many secrets left to reveal at this point. October will certainly keep players busy, but the time for major “time-gated events” is likely over for now.
Destiny 2 must do better now than in 2015
Inspired by “The Taken King”: For Bungie, this is nothing new. They used these very tricks with “The Taken King”. Even then, September and October felt as if Destiny had just been released.
However, by November, that peak was also over, and the first players demanded new content. However, it didn’t come at that time. The peak of “The Taken King” was followed by a long drought of content. Bungie had exhausted all its options.
It will be interesting to see if Bungie can maintain this momentum from September longer with Forsaken than they did with “The Taken King.” The annual pass with the three new DLCs must deliver here.

In FIFA 19 there are many different special cards. To keep track of the abbreviations of TOTY, TOTS, TOTW, MOTM, or OTW, we list all Special Cards from FUT for you.
Special cards are an integral part of Ultimate Team. By now, there are so many that many FUT newcomers do not know which abbreviation stands for which event card.
In this list we provide you with all special cards from FUT 19. If you want to know when each event occurs, you can check that in our FUT Event Calendar for FIFA 19.
Released every week: The “Team of the Week” (TOTW) is the most common special card in the game. Every Wednesday at 4 PM the new TOTW with 23 Informs is announced, from 7 PM it can be obtained in packs for one week.
The best players of the leagues: Every week the players with the best performances from the national leagues are selected. They receive a rating upgrade and a black special card. Position changes are also possible. The first “Team of the Week” was released before the game release.
Team of the Year (TOTY)
Released in early 2019: The best special cards of the FUT season come every year from the “Team of the Year” (TOTY). It is released by position starting in January – from the 7th.
The best players in the world: 11 blue special cards are part of the TOTY. Only the players who delivered the best performances in the calendar year 2018 make it into the team. The rating upgrades are substantial, so many players open a lot of packs during the TOTY period and there is a significant market crash.
Released at the end of the season: The “Team of the Season” (TOTS) is a slightly toned-down version of the TOTY. It is released in May 2019, when the leagues have stopped playing.
Almost every league has its own TOTS: The major leagues and some smaller ones each receive their own “Team of the Season”. These are also blue special cards. The upgrades are slightly lower than those in the TOTY and are based on performances from the 2018/2019 football season.

Ones to Watch (OTW)
Released before and in the middle of the season: The “Ones to Watch” are available in summer and winter editions. The summer OTWs are released at launch, while the winter OTWs are issued after the winter transfer period.
Dynamic special cards: The “Ones to Watch” cards initially share the same rating as the standard cards. However, if the player receives a special card, such as a TOTW, the values of the OTW card increase accordingly. Only players who changed clubs in the previous transfer period can become a “One to Watch”.
Player of the Month (POTM)
Released every month: The “Player of the Month” is chosen by the community and Premier League experts. Once the vote is cast, there will be an SBC available for a limited time in the following month, where you can obtain the player’s POTM card. Starting from FIFA 19, there is also a POTM from the Bundesliga in addition to the Premier League POTM.
Expensive challenge: Even though the rating is often very high, the SBC is only worth it if you really want the player. This is because the cards you must submit have a high value.
Player of the Year: The “Player of the Year” (POTY) is also available as an SBC in some leagues.
Man of the Match (MOTM)
Released irregularly: The orange “Player of the Day” cards are difficult to predict. They are usually awarded for performances in cup games, as these do not factor into the TOTW nomination. Most MOTM cards are available in packs for 24 hours.
International Man of the Match: Similar to the MOTM, there is also the “International Man of the Match,” referred to as IMOTM. This includes performances from international games.
Team of the Group-Stage (TOTGS)
Released mid-December: The “Team of the Group Stage” is part of the “Team of the Tournaments” (TOTT) and is released at the end of the group stage in December. With the new Champions League license, we could also expect a name change and other innovations.
The best European players: 23 players make it into the TOTGS. This is based on the performances of players from the Europa and Champions League during the group stage. The players receive a blue special card and a slight upgrade compared to their last special card.

Team of the Knockout-Stage (TOTKS)
Released mid-May: Like the TOTGS, the “Team of the Knockout Stage” is also part of the “Team of the Tournaments.” The players are selected similarly to the TOTGS cards, except this time performances in the knockout phase are considered.

Only after special actions: The purple Hero cards can sometimes be found in the TOTW. However, a Hero card is only awarded to players if they have delivered an extremely special performance. FIFA favorites without Inform: Futties cards receive a multi-level upgrade. However, only players who did not receive a special card in the FIFA 19 season get a card. Usually, these are community favorites, like Bakyoko in FIFA 18 or Smalling in FIFA 17.
FUT Champions

What is the island planning? Allegedly the island is supposed to create a kind of “volcanic landscape” out of the corrupted areas when it reaches these areas. These new volcanoes are supposed to then launch the “corruption” into the air.
This could then bring the next level of this event.
What is even going on? The flying island is part of the larger story arc in Fortnite. It suddenly began with Season 3 back then:

Recently, Division developer Massive published a first dev blog entry about The Division 2. In it, they provided a more detailed look at weapon mods and the revamped grenades.
What is the blog about? The developer blog “Intelligence Annex” for The Division 2 aims to inform fans about various topics on a monthly basis.
In addition to weapon categories and talents, it also discussed mods and grenades and how they function in The Division 2. Compared to its predecessor, these have been significantly reworked.
Mods are unlocked, not looted
The biggest change is likely the way you acquire mods. Mods are no longer part of the general loot in The Division 2.
How do you get mods? You can unlock them during your gameplay. Once you have unlocked a specific mod, you can attach it to multiple weapons at any time.
However, not every mod can be attached to every weapon, as weapons have different calibers, and not every suppressor and magazine is compatible with all weapons.
Therefore, this step was taken: In The Division 1, there were several weapon mods that were generally considered must-haves.
This made the modding system as a whole less motivating, as everyone was just looking for that one specific category of mods.
Overly large numbers in magazine sizes would have made reloading less important. Stability and precision altered weapon handling too much. Instead, mods are intended to support various playstyles in the future.
Weapon mods have fixed stats, not just advantages
In The Division 1, all bonuses obtained from mods had a minimum and a maximum value. A suppressor could vary between +16% and +18.5% headshot damage at its highest level. Stats also only had positive effects.
How does it work in The Division 2? Each weapon mod will have fixed, non-variable stats. Additionally, each mod will have a negative effect alongside the bonus.

There will also be no percentage values for extended magazines. So anyone who hoped for the +121% magazines known from part 1 will be disappointed in The Division 2. Instead, magazines will be increased by a fixed number of bullets.
What is this change intended to achieve? Massive hopes to create more realism in weapon usage. Players will now have to weigh more carefully which mods to choose and which negative effects they want to accept for their playstyle.
While an extended magazine provides additional shots, it decreases reload speed due to weight. Reloading takes on an overall more important role and will have more influence on gameplay in PvE and PvP.
While there are six different types of grenades in The Division 1 that can be used at any time, The Division 2 will reduce this number.
What is changing? There will only be a total of four different grenade types. However, you will not be able to use all types simultaneously. Three of the four types are linked to your chosen specialization except for one.
What are specializations? Specializations are a new feature in The Division 2 and are unlocked once you reach the maximum level. They allow the player to focus on specific playstyles.
These grenade types you can use:
Destroyer – Incendiary grenades (From level 30)
Sniper – Flash grenade (From level 30)
Survivor – Fragmentation grenades (From level 30)
Shock grenade – All
Some grenade types are better suited for certain activities than others. Therefore, the choice of specialization also matters here.
Sylvanas Windrunner from World of Warcraft is still at war. In Patch 8.1, she acts again and has some terrible deeds planned.
With Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance, the war in World of Warcraft truly escalates. Undead Night Elves – A former Warden
But it doesn’t end with the resurrection of humans. Sylvanas has also begun to resurrect some Night Elves.
The most prominent victim is likely Sira Moonwarden. She is a leader of the Wardens and accuses Maiev of “abandoning her because Maiev wanted to chase a single prisoner.”

Whether Sira is truly “undead” is still not fully clear from the current game information. Her new clothing and the title “Dark Warden” suggest that. YouTuber reveals which Shinys are coming
The YouTuber Reversal is well-known in large parts of the Pokémon GO community. Through his partnership with Niantic, he was able to tell the community which new Shinys will be available in Pokémon GO starting October. He explains that Krabby and its evolution, Kingler, will come to the game as shiny versions.
New Pandir form: A new form of Pandir will also be introduced, which has not yet been available in the game.
When will the new Shinys be released? The new Shinys and the Pandir form are expected to be released together with the new field research tasks in October. This will likely happen on October 1st at 10:00 PM German time. Additionally, a new reward will be available as a field research breakthrough. This is the legendary Pokémon Suicune.
Which Pandir form? It is still unclear which Pandir form the players can expect next. So far, players have been able to obtain Pandir forms 3 and 8 by completing field quests related to curveball throws.

The siege of Zuldazar claims several victims. The game data from World of Warcraft already reveal which characters will not make it unscathed.
With Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance, the Alliance launches an attack on Zuldazar. This attack is so significant that it is played as a raid, the Double Raid Siege of Zuldazar. Such a large-scale attack, of course, does not happen without heavy losses. The game data already indicate which characters will meet their end.

The death of a king
The greatest casualty of the attack is the Troll King Rastakhan. The Alliance manages to penetrate deep into the heart of Dazar’Alor and ascend the pyramid where they confront the Troll King, Rastakhan. He is asked to surrender – but he refuses with these words (loosely translated):
“You… an exile without a homeland… You dare to intrude into these sacred halls and demand that I hand you my kingdom?
The Zandalari created an empire that would endure for more than ten thousand years… while your barbaric ancestors still crawled in the dirt.
We have civilized this world. We have conquered it. And once again, you savages want to undermine this glory.
No, I will not give up. For no matter what happens here and today… Zandalar will endure long after your Alliance has crumbled to dust.”
As a result, Rastakhan is killed. Whether this occurs in a cinematic is still unclear. On the Horde side, however, his death is confirmed.
Fans had long suspected Rastakhan’s death. After all, the whole story with Bwonsamdi and him is set up for Talanji (his daughter) to take over. Since Rastakhan is bound to Bwonsamdi, it is possible that we may still hear from him from the spirit world.
The frosty end of a gnome
Another casualty of the war is the Chief Engineer Mekkadrill. Between him and Gallywix, a battle ensues where they attack each other with their machines and inventions. Although there is a balance on both sides, Mekkadrill’s machine is ultimately destroyed.
He manages to escape, but Mekkadrill’s rescue system triggers a special cooling process that freezes his body, and he “escapes.” Both Jaina and Anduin are at a loss for how to reverse this state.
Jaina: “No, I am sorry. This mechanism that froze his body is entirely different from any magic I know. Anduin, is there nothing that the Light can do?”

The Power Throw: Similar to a sharply kicked pass, you can put a lot of power behind your goalkeeper throw. Just press R1 + X (RB + A) simultaneously when you want to pass the ball to a teammate. The ball will fly with significantly more speed – this can be crucial for fast counterattacks.
With R1 + Square (RB + X), you can also perform a powerful goal kick.
Ball Flick: Set up your volleys yourself! When you press the right stick (R3), your player will start to juggle the ball while standing still. If you switch to a specific direction, the player will turn with it. This way, you can set up volley shots or acrobatic bicycle kicks for yourself!
Even while running, pressing R3 can be helpful: your player will then flick the ball a bit high in the direction of your run. This can confuse your opponent and give you the crucial meters of advantage.
Tips for Finishing
Low Shot: The low shot by double pressing the shoot button was a popular method in FIFA 18. However, in FIFA 19, you now activate “Timed Finishing” when you press the shoot button twice. The low shot is still available: just hold L1 and R1 (the front shoulder buttons) while finishing.
Timed Finishing Trainer: Speaking of timed finishing: the new shooting mechanic can initially produce some missed shots. It can be helpful to activate the trainer.
You can customize the FIFA trainer in the pause menu to show only the timed finishing indicator – after all, you don’t want the basic controls constantly hovering around your player.
Manual Goalkeeper: This does not mean completely taking over the keeper. When your opponent has the ball, you can push the right stick inward (R3) and move it to position your goalkeeper in the penalty area – while continuing to control your defense! If you feel that your keeper is not in an optimal position, use this option!
Free Kick Defense: This trick was already in FIFA 18: press X (A) during a free kick by your opponent to send one of your players from the wall towards the ball as soon as the ball is in motion. If your opponent plays a pass, you have a high chance of intercepting the ball and creating counter-attacking situations.
In Fortnite: Battle Royale, the map has changed with Season 6. The new highlight is now a flying island above the former Loot Lake.
What happened? After the purple cube tipped into the lake at Loot Lake at the end of Season 5, it turned into a kind of trampoline. With the start of Season 6, however, the cube returned. It wedged itself under the island with the house in the middle of the lake and lifted it many meters into the air.
It now hovers over a threatening whirlpool, emitting a violet light.
What’s with the island?
What’s so great about the island? The floating island is truly impressive. It is the highest point on the map and floats far above the rest of the terrain. Additionally, it is full of loot. There are numerous treasure chests and some ground spawns. Since it is centrally located, a visit there is worthwhile.
Ideal for action fans: Because the island hovers so high in the air, you can land there faster than elsewhere. Perfect if you don’t want to search long and want action immediately.
How do I get to the island? If you don’t land there right at the beginning of the game, you can still easily reach the island later. The whirlpool underneath the island doesn’t suck you in; it blows you up. This gives you significant lift, allowing you to easily sail up.
Cool detail: If you circle the island, you will see a huge dinosaur skeleton that is still half-buried in the ground. A hint at the dinosaur theme that has been long awaited?
Ideal for quick location changes: Since you can reactivate your glider from the island, a trip to the island is optimal if you want to cover a long distance in the air quickly. Sail up to the island, activate the glider, and fly from there in the desired direction.
What happens if you touch the cube below? The purple cube is stuck under the island and seems to be holding it up. If you touch it, the familiar “bounce effect” is triggered, and it pushes you away in the opposite direction. This does not cause damage.
Not the only highlight of Season 6: The floating island is a real eye-catcher and definitely worth a visit. But there were also more changes to the map in Season 6. Be sure to check out Wailing Woods for the new bunker. Or the new haunted castle at Haunted Hills.

Scum likes to be extreme: The survival game SCUM throws violent criminals onto an island and lets them fight for survival. The game has a penchant for the absurd and extreme.
When the player base recently surpassed 1 million units sold, every player was gifted a golden Desert Eagle. The developers placed the D-Eagle in the players’ avatars’ behinds. They then could fish the weapons out of the toilet on their next bathroom visit.
New patch brings fresh content: The latest patch, which came to SCUM on Steam yesterday, includes a lot of new content:
An improvised pistol. The self-made pistol can be crafted with basic survival skills
An improvised shotgun – for this, intermediate survival skills are needed

Maximum Values: To obtain a 100% IV Deoxys from an EX-Raid, it must have 1570 CP. In windy weather, Deoxys is boosted and has 1963 CP with 100% IV. Deoxys can reach a maximum of 2749 CP.
In Destiny 2, it will be easier to obtain powerful loot in the Iron Banner. Additionally, Bungie explains the power level advantages. This is how much your level affects this PvP event.
Issues with the Iron Banner: On September 18th, the first Iron Banner in Destiny 2: Forsaken started. This brought some new features, such as the activation of the power level advantages and a new rewards system. However, guardians quickly encountered two annoyances:
It took a lot of time to master the bounties with Lord Saladin. The requirements were too high for many, resulting in numerous guardians missing out on the powerful gear as a reward.
Bungie is now responding to these criticisms, lowering the bounty requirements and clearly outlining the power level advantages.
New Iron Banner Gear
Iron Banner bounties will be easier and more rewarding
Goal missed: Bungie’s senior designer Jeremiah Pieschl explains that one of the goals with the Iron Banner was to give low power level players more chances to earn powerful gear and to level up. Based on community feedback, they did not achieve this goal.
This is how the Iron Banner is changing:
In the future, all Iron Banner bounties will yield powerful gear (previously only 2 did). This is the loot that will help you progress beyond power level 500.
The bounty requirements will be reduced. Due to gameplay disadvantages, it is otherwise too difficult for guardians with low power levels to complete them.
This is how the bounties are changing:
Lightbearer: The required number of super kills has been reduced from 25 to 20.
Blood of Iron: The required number of match completions has been reduced from 30 to 15.
Shine On: The required number of created orbs has been reduced from 100 to 50.
Iron Victory: The required number of match wins has been reduced from 10 to 7.
To be precise: The required number of precision kills has been reduced from 100 to 50.
A Week’s Work: The required number of kills has been reduced from 250 to 150.

Power level advantages mean in brief: Guardians with a higher power level have an advantage over players with a lower power level. They can deal more damage and take less damage themselves.

Explanations and examples:
The thick, purple line represents the current trend of the damage multiplier depending on the power differences in Forsaken.
When you read the graphic from left to right, you can see the effect that occurs when your power is far below that of an opposing player.
If you have the same power level as the opposing guardian, the power difference is 0 (left in the graphic). The damage multiplier is therefore 1.0 – meaning, there is no difference from the normal crucible.
If you are 100 power levels below that of the opposing guardian, your damage is multiplied by 0.80. In other words, you deal 20% less damage against that guardian.
If you are a full 200 power levels below that of the opposing guardian, your damage is multiplied by 0.50. You deal only half the damage. And you are pretty much outmatched.
The curve also works the other way around: If you are 20 power levels above that of the opposing guardian, you deal 10% more damage to them.
These power level advantages will also be active in the next Iron Banner. However, they will continue to monitor player feedback.
