Niantic, the developer of Pokémon GO, is working on a new app that aims to sustainably change tourism.
With the huge success of Pokémon GO, the game developer Niantic has made a name for itself. Now, they are working together with the World Tourism Organization on a new app that aims to bring tourists closer to the world using AR technologies.
In a statement on Niantic’s website, the game developer explained that they are working to promote tourism sustainably and to view the world from a different perspective.
Niantic’s partner is the UN
Who is Niantic’s partner? The World Tourism Organization UNWTO is a specialized agency of the United Nations and advocates for responsible tourism worldwide. Since last summer, they have been conducting the “Travel.Enjoy.Respect” campaign, which also includes collaboration with Niantic.
What is the goal of the cooperation? Together with Niantic, the UNWTO wants to show tourists attractions they wouldn’t have visited without this app. This should happen with the AR system that Niantic uses. The app is especially intended to be used in developing countries to promote tourism there.
Explore your neighborhood: The app users’ neighborhoods are also to be included. The app should show new places to discover in the immediate vicinity of the users.
What can Niantic contribute? Through Pokémon GO, but also through Ingress, Niantic has a player base worldwide. Through millions of player data, they could identify regions that are especially in demand and work out new destinations with the help of regional players.
Could Pokémon GO help? In Pokémon GO, as well as in Niantic’s game Ingress, players can see images of real landmarks on PokéStops and portals. These images could also be useful for the new app.

According to Kotaku, Diablo 4 is indeed in development. Although the finished game is likely still some time away, Blizzard seems to be considering integrating elements from the online shooters Destiny and Destiny 2.
In a major cover story, Kotaku author Jason Schreier spoke with current and former Blizzard employees to learn more about the background of Diablo 4. In addition to the fact that Blizzard is indeed working on a new installment, the Blizzard insiders also discussed potential features that may be inspired by Bungie’s online shooter Destiny.

Will “Strikes” from Destiny 2 be in Diablo 4? Strikes are self-contained instances that pick up and tell a thread of the story. In Destiny 2, these are completed with a fireteam of up to three players. In these strikes, players must face various waves of enemies, jumping sections, and tough bosses.
A concept that could definitely work for Diablo 4. Lesser evils like Azmodan or Belial could be integrated as sidekicks to the story in this way. Other narrative strands could also be “transported” through such a medium.
Players already know self-contained instances from Diablo 3. Nephalem Rifts consist of procedurally generated dungeons that are time-limited or progression-bound. Players’ criticism: currently, in the endgame, only the large Nephalem Rifts remain; there is nothing more to do.
Do the “Destiny mechanics” make sense in Diablo 4? Absolutely. The matchmaking or player search in Diablo 3 works only independently of the activity one wants to undertake. Event-based matchmaking should significantly ease the in-game player search.
New forms of gameplay such as the strikes would also provide variety and primarily motivate players to form fireteams.

In World of Warcraft better gear is coming soon for all players. However, they will have to put in more effort for that.
Harder dungeons, better loot: In Patch 8.1 “Tides of Vengeance”, the item level of items from dungeons is supposed to be increased. Testers on the WoW PTR have already found this out. According to Buffed, dungeons will also be harder to master.
Heroic Uldir Loot from Mythic Dungeons
Higher item levels from dungeons: According to the numbers from PTR players, all dungeons and difficulties in World of Warcraft with Patch 8.1 will be adjusted. In the dungeons, you can then loot the following item levels:
Normal Dungeons: Item level 340+ (currently 310+)
Heroic Dungeons: Item level 355+ (currently 325+)
Mythic Dungeons: Item level 370+ (currently 340+)
The items from heroic dungeons will correspond to the gear from the current normal mode of Uldir. The item level of mythic dungeons even corresponds to the heroic mode of Uldir.
The boost will likely also affect items from “Mythic+” Dungeons. According to Buffed, some data miners have also found out that the dungeons are supposed to become harder. However, it is not known exactly how this will look.
Improved Azerite Armor: According to information, the Azerite items are also supposed to be adjusted. Epic Azerite armor from mythic dungeons is supposed to already possess the fifth ring with traits.
However, more artifact power will also be required again. The Heart of Azeroth needs to reach higher levels to unlock the traits of the new items.
For Azerite armor from normal dungeons, low “M+” dungeons, and the LFR of the new raid “Battle for Dazar’alor”, up to level 40 will be needed on the heart. This increases further with better gear, up to level 48 in the mythic mode of the raid and “Mythic+10” dungeons.
It seems that we will soon be farming Azerite again!
When will the change occur? Since the changes are currently being tested on the PTR, they will definitely appear in Patch 8.1.
However, the changes to the Azerite items suggest that the items will not be available directly at the release of Patch 8.1 in December 2018. Instead, they will probably go live together with the new raid “Battle for Dazar’alor” in early 2019.

The current state of Albion Online: The sandbox MMORPG launched very strongly in July 2017, but quickly lost many players. Earlier this year, about half of the studio’s staff had to be let go. Now, however, it seems that the tides are turning. For some time now, there has been a very positive conversation about the MMORPG. The tactical MMO Total War Arena simply had no luck. Even before it officially left beta, the plug was pulled. Now there are compensations.
What is Total War Arena anyway? Total War Arena was supposed to combine the gameplay of a typical Total War game with that of World of Tanks. You had three units from a specific faction from antiquity. There were Romans, Greeks, or Barbarians. Each faction had its own advantages and disadvantages.
This allowed for exciting mass battles at times, but often everything ended in a huge mess.
Expectations not met
The game did not catch on: Unfortunately, the grand idea of a multiplayer strategy MMO came to nothing. According to developers Creative Assembly, the servers are set to be shut down on February 22, 2019.
Why is Total War Arena dead? The reason for the game’s death seems to be the lack of success. The game was still in beta and had, even then, not met the expectations set for it. However, thanks to all the players and testers who stood by the team.

The content flow is an old problem: The supply of fresh game content has been an issue since Destiny 1 that Bungie simply cannot get under control. The studio has promised better content flow several times, but has not really delivered. Often, there have been content droughts.
What is the Annual Pass? The Annual Pass is essentially nothing more than a paid season or annual pass for the second year of Destiny 2. You can purchase it with certain versions of Destiny 2 or the Forsaken expansion or buy it separately for €34.99.
What does the Annual Pass include? Buyers of this annual pass will receive additional content in addition to the regular features available to everyone, as well as three premium content deliveries:

Bungie has emphasized multiple times that the three upcoming premium DLCs will not offer the same scope as, for example, DLC I “Curse of Osiris” or DLC II “Warmind” from the first year of Destiny 2. The premium DLCs will not be available individually, but only as part of the Annual Pass.
How will the Annual Pass content be delivered?
This is the DLC plan for Year 2: Anyone who wants to fully enjoy the second year of Destiny 2 will have to pay extra. However, Bungie promises a faster flow of new content. But what will that look like?
The three premium DLCs will be released sequentially over the course of the second year. The first of these, the Black Armory, will be released on December 4, 2018. The two subsequent DLCs, The Joker’s Wildcard and Penumbra, are currently only roughly scheduled for Spring 2019 and Summer 2019 (by no later than August 31, 2019).
This is how the contents will be distributed: However, a description of the Annual Pass in the Blizzard Store gives a hint as to when players can expect the second premium content. It states that the contents of the Black Armory will be delivered during the Forge season (Season 5) from December 4, 2018, to March 4, 2019.
While this does not mean that the second premium DLC will also be released on March 4, 2019, the possible release period is at least narrowed down. Because on March 4, Season 6 will likely start. The next premium content is likely to kick off shortly thereafter. For example, the Black Armory starts one week after the beginning of Season 5.
This would mean that there will be about three months between the first two premium DLCs. The third and so far officially last DLC, Penumbra, which is expected to be delivered by the end of August at the latest, could come three to five months later. Whether or what Destiny 2 will offer the fans afterward is not yet known.
Can the Annual Pass model ensure a faster flow of content?
More and faster content in Year 2: When comparing the releases in the first year of Destiny 2 with the second year, it is clear that the planned content flow should now occur at shorter intervals and include more content – at least on paper.
Destiny 2 was released on September 6, 2017 (on consoles), DLC I followed on December 5, 2017, and DLC II was released on May 8, 2018. The Forsaken expansion kicked off the second year on September 4, 2018.
While there was about the same amount of time between the main game and the first DLC as there is between Forsaken and the Black Armory, the following DLCs in Year 2 will come at shorter intervals. Additionally, there will be one more content delivery than in Year 1.
The main difference from Year 1
This is how it was in Year 1: In Year 1, the contents were delivered all at once. After DLC I was released and players were done with it, there was hardly anything they could do until the next content delivery. Only events like the Crimson Days briefly broke the waiting period.
It was similar for DLC II. Warmind was also released as a large DLC with all its content at once. Although there were some contents hidden behind a time lock that kept the Guardians busy over a longer period, once players were done with it, there was nothing to do until the Whisper Quest and the “Solstice of Heroes” event.
All in all, Bungie did not manage to provide fans with fresh content in a timely and continuous manner during Year 1. There were numerous droughts.
This is how it works in Year 2: In Year 2, players are now theoretically supposed to receive more and faster content – and for less money. For the two DLCs, you had to pay around €40 if purchased individually or €35 if you bought the expansion pass, while for the three premium content deliveries in Year 2, you will also pay approximately €35. So a Year 2 DLC costs more than €10.
However, in practice, it will apparently look different. Bungie has repeatedly pointed out that the individual premium DLCs will not be comparable in scope to the DLCs from Year 1 and will be smaller. The listing in the Blizzard Shop also reveals that the contents of the premium DLCs will not be delivered all at once, but over the course of an entire season.
In plain language, this means for players: There will be less content per content delivery than in Year 1, but it will now be stretched out over a longer period and made available gradually.
Can this new model convince? That content does not come all at once, but is spread out over time through time-gating, is not necessarily bad and is common in numerous games. It depends on the quality of the content.
If Bungie can manage to combine new activities, exotics, endgame elements, and story engagingly and distribute them over the season in a way that players always have something to do, this tactic could work – even if these contents come piece by piece and are only briefly entertaining.
It all comes down to a skilled combination and the frequency of the content. The Forsaken expansion has already shown this. Many contents were also released gradually or were scheduled for a long time, keeping many fans engaged until the first premium content.
Bungie will certainly be able to achieve a faster flow of content with this model. But whether the studio can really convince with the new €10 DLCs remains to be seen. The past has shown several times that such announcements are not as easy to implement as they may sound.
Rumors say that Blizzard actually Diablo 4 was supposed to be announced at BlizzCon 2018, but they changed their mind shortly before then. The reason could be an old, canceled project. At least that’s what a theory says.
Is Titan blocking Diablo 4? The US site Kotaku has unofficially spoken with some current and former Blizzard employees. Some said that the aftermath of the originally planned and discarded project Titan might have an impact on Diablo 4.

What was Titan? The project codenamed Titan was supposed to be a massive, new MMORPG from Blizzard. The vision of Titan was an MMORPG that was to follow World of Warcraft with the following elements:

The expectations of hyped fans and working developers were heavily disappointed after the development was discontinued. A former developer told Kotaku:
Titan casts a shadow over us all. Although Overwatch has emerged from its remnants, people do not look at Titan and see a success.
Fear for Diablo 4: This shadow of Titan’s failure looms over the development of Diablo 4, which apparently already exists under the codename “Fenris”. The team simply does not want another game that consumes many resources and ultimately never comes after a big hype.

The shitstorm surrounding the announcement of Diablo Immortal took strange turns. A player bought the domain playdiablo4.com and redirected it to the action MMO Path of Exile.
What happened? The Reddit user Zeiin bought the domain playdiablo4.com and then redirected it to the website of the competitor in the form of Path of Exile.
Then, someone contacted Zeiin and asked if he would sell the domain. When the fan replied with “Maybe,” a lawyer from Blizzard reached out to him. The lawyer demanded that Zeiin remove the redirect to Path of Exile. This would involve domain hijacking and copyright infringement.
Furthermore, the lawyer tried to persuade Zeiin to transfer the domain playdiablo4.com to Blizzard. Blizzard believed that he intended to use the domain for commercial purposes. Zeiin agreed to remove the redirect but retains the domain. If Blizzard plans to actively use it for a game, he would, however, relinquish the domain.
The joke continues: However, Zeiin came up with another prank. The domain playdiablo4.com now redirects to a Google search for smartphones, which is, of course, a jab at the mobile game Diablo Immortal.

This is why Zeiin doesn’t want Blizzard to be attacked: Zeiin explains in his Reddit post that the lawyer was very friendly and even told him that they found the joke funny at Blizzard. However, Blizzard has to manage damage control after the shitstorm, so the action is understandable. No one was unfriendly to him or forced him to do anything.
This is how the community reacts: Initially, further anger was directed at Blizzard due to this action, until Zeiin clarified that players should please stop. Now, with the redirect of the domain playdiablo4.com to a search for smartphones, it seems that the waves have smoothed out a bit on Reddit. People are laughing about this additional jab. How Blizzard will react is still unknown.

When the opponent has no cards with the “Guardian” ability left to protect them, they can be attacked directly.
The unique features: The Elder Scrolls Legends plays similarly to Hearthstone and Co., but expands the basic framework with clever mechanics of its own. In The Elder Scrolls Legends, you always fight on two separate battlefields, the “Lanes.” Each lane has passive effects that affect all cards on that lane.
Usually, a lane is in the “shadows” and creatures there are concealed in the first round. However, there are also lane effects that raise fallen creatures as undead or give bonuses to selected types of creatures.
Lanes offer more tactics: Only cards that are on the same lane can battle each other. However, a player can be attacked from any lane. If you neglect a lane, your opponent can exploit that weakness and defeat you.
It does no good if your strongest blockers are in one lane and the opponent has their powerful attackers lined up in the other. Changing lanes is only possible with certain card effects. Tactical plays around the two lanes are crucial to triumph over strong opponents.
Even the strongest cards can be disabled by action cards.
Additionally, each player has five runes, which are destroyed when you receive certain amounts of damage. Each rune allows you to draw a card. Certain cards drawn in this manner can be played directly for free in the opponent’s turn. The rune mechanic even gives players a chance to win when they have fewer health points than their opponent.
Once you’ve completed your first battles in the campaign “The Forgotten Hero,” you can compete against your friends, other players, or the AI.
Travel across Tamriel and beyond
Campaigns let you experience adventures: Another feature of The Elder Scrolls Legends are the fully voiced campaigns in English. Beautiful animations tell various stories in Tamriel.
The familiar freedom of choice from the games is also present in The Elder Scrolls Legends. Time and again, you must make decisions in the free campaign “The Forgotten Hero” and will be rewarded with a suitable card at the end.

How much time do you spend in Blackout? It must take a lot of time to maintain such records.
I play a few hours daily after work. However, I usually decide this based on my mood. Right now, I have three weeks off, so it can easily be a few more hours, but you also have to maintain some balance.
Of course, I want to defend my titles for as long as possible, but I also don’t want to lose the fun in gaming. So I try not to put myself under pressure. That happened to me with Fortnite, and eventually, I realized that I was only playing to secure my ranks.
That was clearly the wrong way, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go this route either.
Okay, now to the weapons. Which weapons do you like to play with, which do you recommend, and which should one best leave behind?
In general, you can’t go wrong with most assault rifles. The KN-57 and the Maddox RFB are personally too imprecise for me, especially at long distances. However, the ABR 223 and the SDM are my favorites among all weapons.
The ABR 223 is perfect for mid-range, and where the ABR 223 fails, the SDM comes into play, which is deadly with few shots even at the furthest distance.
I would leave the large machine guns behind, as I believe they have too low a fire rate and do not match my play style. You also shouldn’t be running around with pistols, as they fulfill hardly any purpose.
Dead Silence, Vigilance, and Paranoia are super useful. Especially Vigilance and Paranoia can be played very well with a headset, as they amplify acoustic signals from enemies and thus reveal their positions.
Speaking of headsets: What equipment do you use for your PS4 Pro?
I use the official “Playstation 4 Gold Wireless Headset” from Sony. As a controller, I now use a “Nacon PS4 Revolution Pro Controller 2”, which is a licensed controller from Sony that has additional buttons on the back that can be configured to personal preferences.

Unfortunately, I can’t think of anything specific right now. However, I would recommend everyone to trust their own play style. You can find numerous tips on YouTube, but they are often quite contradictory.
Some swear by weapon X, others by weapon Y. I wouldn’t pay much attention to that, as everyone has different opinions. If anyone is still unsure or has just started with Blackout, they might first focus on the regular PVP mode like Team Deathmatch.
Here you can quickly see which weapon suits you, which attachments make sense, and so on. For example, if you do very well with tactical rifles in regular PVP, there is a good chance you can use them effectively in Blackout as well. Otherwise, just play and have fun! The rest will come in time.
