[…] I played for 3 hours and can buy 6 or 7 packs of chewing tobacco for that. I’m done with this.” Player Mud_Landry writes: “I played continuously for 6 hours. I bought a shotgun. They really need to do something about this… soon!”

Beard customization was better in singleplayer: If you don’t shave in singleplayer for a few days, you can see facial hair growing. Then there is the option to either trim the whole beard or just adjust the mustache or chin. Many customizations are possible in the campaign. Some fans miss this online.

The mini-games are missing: In singleplayer, players could keep entertained with a game of poker, dominoes, or blackjack. Player Runmtxscape writes: “Is there no poker? I saw it mentioned often before release. That’s really dumb. It would be one of the best parts of the online mode.”

In the wishes for the online mode of Red Dead Redemption 2, mini-games were often mentioned.

What’s missing about the trapper? In singleplayer mode, the trapper is located at these points on the map. Player holliday50 writes that hunting in the online mode is more challenging. Once the horse dies, it also loses its load. With trigger-happy players in online mode, this happens quickly.

“Also consider that the trapper no longer exists. Hunting anywhere in the north therefore requires a long journey back and a lot of luck to even reach a butcher to sell to.”

Players can see every player on the map: Players want the locations not to be constantly shown. Dirty03 writes: “I would definitely like to see a player’s location disappear. Unless you’re robbing a stagecoach or something.” Player Mrtrollham writes: “Wait, why is every player’s location visible on the map? WTF – What kind of nonsense is that?”

Are the level restrictions too harsh? Players complain that you need to reach certain levels to buy different things like weapons. Many wish for a loosening of this. “In GTA Online, you could at least immediately buy a pistol without grinding for several hours,” writes user Yahdakes.

Voice chat across the entire map is annoying
- Player ConceptCutthroat writes that he would prefer servers where voice chat is localized and you only hear players nearby. He is annoyed that he hears other players talking who are 3 states away. The radius for voice chat is just too large.
Core values of the horses shrink inappropriately
- “Every time you feed your horse and then enter a mission or a cutscene, the cores of the horses lose 75% energy. So I have to feed them again, even though I just did that a minute ago,” writes user sai911, complaining that he has had to waste so much money feeding his horse.
Player killing has too few consequences
- This point keeps coming up as a complaint. Players behave like a bull in a china shop, constantly killing other players and only losing honor for it. User holliday50 writes that in singleplayer, the law immediately steps in when you start a shootout in a town. The law enforcement aspect is missing in online mode.
