The leader of the Blood Elves in World of Warcraft has been revamped. For some, Lor’themar now has the best model in the entire game.
Patch 8.1 Waves of Revenge has been live for a few days and brought players many new contents, such as the Warfront: Darkshore or new missions of the War Campaign. However, a few small changes that get lost in the mass are particularly appreciated by players.
One of them is the new model of Lor’themar Theron, the leader of the Blood Elves.
New model after a decade: Lor’themar finally got his own, unique model in the game after more than 11 years.
Here, much more detail can be seen. His eye patch is gone, revealing the blind eye which is distinctly different from the other eye that is still infused with Fel magic. Apparently, he also has quite a fondness for earrings, as there seem to be several on each side.
In general, the model with the new clothing is very impressive and fits perfectly with a slightly arrogant species like the Sin’dorei.
More physics than other characters: Particularly noticeable about the new model is that Blizzard has incorporated a lot of physics. Not only does the main hair of the fashion-conscious elf sway with every movement, but the fabric of his clothing is also playfully tossed around in the air when he rotates.
But even smaller details, like his chin beard, wiggle a bit with each movement. Such physics is usually only known from female characters in Dead or Alive.
Lor’themar could become important: It is also interesting to see the overhaul of his character itself. Traditionally, Blizzard only gives characters a makeover when they are about to play an important role in the story of World of Warcraft shortly thereafter.
Blood Elf fans can therefore hope that their people will soon step more into the spotlight. Perhaps when it comes to the succession for the position of Warchief…
What do you think of Lor’themar’s new model? Should players also get as many physics details as the leader of the Blood Elves? Or is this just fitting for such a self-loving people, that the leader crowns it all?
In Destiny 2 strange things are happening: Masterful alien hunters suddenly become hobby bakers, collecting ingredients to bake a “Gjallarhorn” for the grumpy bald man Zavala.
2017 was rather lame: Here, everything was still focused on commerce – although there were cool armor sets, they were linked to the hated Eververse. Hockey and snowball fights were added.
Guardians in the Christmas bakery
This year it is like this: 2018 is all about baking. But it is baking with shooting.
Players have to bake specific cookies for their favorite characters in the Tower or on the planets:
Zavala wants Gjallarhorn cookies
Failsafe likes Everfrost cake
Shaxx only eats vanilla swords
And Ikora is into Traveler quark balls
Guardians simply acquire the ingredients for all these delicacies when they go about their normal activities. Because aliens suddenly not only drop loot but also provide milk (Vex), butter (Cabal) or delicious ether sticks (Hive).
There are then numerous baking recipes for turning all this stuff into something edible. The ingredients then go into the oven.
The oven
“Incredible, but true – We are baking”
This is how the event is going: Here on MeinMMO, the opinion of the community is mostly positive.
Nexxos Zero discovers his inner baker: “Yesterday I baked everything and delivered it to the respective NPCs. Now I’m just waiting for Xur on Friday to give him his treat.”
KingK is surprised by himself: “We are baking! Oh man, I turned on the oven yesterday. Incredible but true.”
Chris Brunner analyzes: “So far I find it quite nicely done. It’s not too tedious and it simply complements the current gameplay.”
Strahlemann30 even says: “I think this is the first event that can truly be called an event in Destiny 2.
But there is also a Grinch among MeinMMO readers. Caribo says: “This is the most unnecessary thing I have ever experienced in 5 years of Destiny. It’s even more unnecessary than the raisin and celery and they had no function.”
If you want to bake along, we have a detailed guide with everything you need to know.
In Red Dead Online, you can earn money in many different ways. We show you ways to quickly make cash in the online mode of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Outlaws can now explore the game world of Red Dead Redemption 2 online. There are also many items that you can purchase in the game.
This includes upgrades, outfits, weapons, and other items. It’s not cheap. That’s why our guide shows you how to quickly earn money.
This is what you can buy in Red Dead Online
How does the offering in RDO look? Online, there is at least as much to buy as in the single-player of Red Dead Redemption 2. As usual, you can select the items you want to buy in the various categories.
There are:
Weapons
Customization options such as engravings
Ammunition
Clothing
Supplies
However, some items are tied to a minimum level. Some prices have been adjusted for the online mode.
Where do I shop? You will receive a catalog during the tutorial. With this, you can order anything at any time and have it delivered to your camp or a post office.
These are the currencies of RDO: You can pay in either US dollars or gold. Gold nuggets have a special significance. If you collect 100 pieces, you have a gold bar. Gold bars are needed to buy special cosmetic items or unlock items earlier. They are part of the microtransactions that will follow later.
But how do you best earn quick money?
You earn money in Red Dead Online through almost every activity. Therefore, there are also various methods.
Repeat the missions
The authors of usgamer.net have played each of the available missions and noted which missions are the most effective for earning money.
These missions are the most rewarding:
Kill Them, Each and Every One: This mission takes you to a region south of Armadillo, where you clear out a gang. It takes an average of 10-20 minutes, and players report rewards of up to $60 per mission. You can earn between $240 and $400 in an hour. On your first run, you also receive a reward of $250.
Kerosene, Tar and Greed: This mission is not as effective as the previous one, but you have to take out many guards. With their loot, you can earn up to $35 per run.
Highly Illegal Activity: Here, you hunt down a specific target and have to take them in. For your effort, you earn $70 per run.
Can you choose missions specifically? Unfortunately not. You can only activate a player search, which will randomly select a mission for you. You must search again each time if the desired mission is not available.
In general: Loot the corpses of your enemies. In missions and in free mode, you can obtain money, medicines, and valuables this way. Watches and jewelry can be sold for a good price. However, keep in mind that killing and robbing civilians can negatively affect your honor. This is how honor works in RDO.
The hunt for pelts is also a useful method of making money in Red Dead Online. Pelts that are in good condition can fetch a decent price.
How do I hunt animals without damaging the pelts? The most important factor you need to consider when hunting is: What weapon do I need for which animal?
For small animals like rabbits, the Varmint Rifle is suitable. If you score a clean headshot, small animals will remain unharmed. The bow is also a good option to minimize damage to the pelt.
For larger animals, rifles are best. A clean headshot is usually enough for a fatal shot. For bears and alligators, you should be sure to use sniper rifles. One shot to the head might not always be sufficient. This is how to obtain perfect pelts in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Where is the best place to hunt? IGN recommends an area east of Rhodes. There you will find many alligators and birds like eagles, herons, and spoonbills. Their parts can be sold for good money. Take them to the butcher in Rhodes. That should be the quickest way to sell your collected items.
A spoonbill that you have caught with a perfect kill can bring you up to $11 per kill. It can happen that certain animals do not spawn in that area. You may need to distance yourself a bit to reset the spawns.
In Red Dead Online, an important tool is missing: In single-player, hunting is quite easy. You just have to make sure to always have a full Dead Eye gauge. With the slow-motion mode, clean headshots are rarely a problem.
This slow motion is absent in RDO. Therefore, you will need to be much more patient while hunting. Simply chasing animals with the horse and then shooting cleanly will rarely be possible. Therefore, sneaking during hunting is most advisable. A scoped rifle also makes hunting from a distance easier.
This is how it works: At Blackwater, you can fish for sturgeons. However, you need a lake bait. You can easily catch the sturgeons at the harbor. Cast the bait as close as possible to quickly reel in the fish. The image that the user created shows you exactly where you should stand and where to cast your bait.
If you have made a rich catch, you can head straight to the shop at the harbor. The shop is also marked in the picture.
Players warn about Blackwater: Other users point out that too many players are shooting around in Blackwater. But not everyone agrees. You have to try it out and hope that it’s not too busy. A server switch is also possible.
According to his results, you can farm gold the fastest by playing the Showdown mode. In this PvP mode, players compete against each other in a kind of deathmatch.
How much gold can be made this way? If you stay focused and remain in this mode without switching, you can apparently earn 0.08 gold nuggets every nine minutes. In about 2 hours, you will have one gold bar.
The player compared this method with others and concluded that this is currently the fastest way.
Note: Currently, only the beta of Red Dead Online is running. Not all content is implemented yet. There may be additional ways when new content is released for Red Dead Online. We will update the guide for quick money as soon as more ways to get rich in Red Dead Online are known.
The team leaders in Pokémon GO challenge you! We will show you which Pokémon they have and how to best counter them.
You can now not only challenge your friends in Pokémon GO, but also the team leaders. We will show you how to best defeat the NPCs and which Pokémon they bring into battle.
What are team leaders? Team Valor, Wisdom, and Instinct all have team leaders. You can now challenge them in battles. The team leaders are NPCs and are divided into different difficulty levels. You can challenge each team leader in any league. They use different Pokémon for each league, but they remain the same within those leagues.
Blanche: Team Wisdom – Difficulty: Easy
Who is Blanche? Blanche is the team leader of Team Blue, or Team Wisdom. She is the easiest to defeat among all the team leaders. Beginners should therefore fight against Blanche first. Her teams for the leagues are as follows:
Super League (up to a maximum of 1500 CP):
Magikarp: Counter: Any Grass and Electric type Pokémon
Barboach: Counter: Any Grass and Electric type Pokémon
Squirtle: Counter: Any Grass and Electric type Pokémon
How hard is it? No one should have problems with Blanche in the Super League. Magikarp and Barboach deal almost no damage to your Pokémon. Squirtle can also be defeated quickly. Trainers at level 10 should be able to win.
Hyper League (up to a maximum of 2500 CP):
Alolan Ninetales: Counter: Any Steel, Fire, and Rock type Pokémon
Walrein: Counter: Any Fighting, Rock, Fire, and Steel type Pokémon
Lapras: Counter: Any Grass, Electric, Fighting, and Rock type Pokémon
How hard is it? The Hyper League should not be a problem for any trainer with the right counters. Rock type Pokémon are especially useful here, as they are effective against Blanche’s Pokémon.
Master League (no CP limit):
Lapras: Counter: Electivire, Raikou, Machamp, Hariyama, Zapdos, and other Pokémon of type Grass, Electric, Fighting, Rock
Skarmory: Counter: Snorunt, Mewtwo (with Ice Beam), Kyogre, and other Pokémon of type Ice and Water
Articuno: Counter: Tyranitar, Rhydon, Golem, Metagross, Electivire, and other Pokémon of type Rock, Steel, Electric, and Fire
How hard is it? If you have the right counters, you can easily defeat Blanche here as well. You need to have a well-rounded team. We recommend Electivire, Snorunt, and Tyranitar for your team.
Candela: Team Valor – Difficulty: Medium
Who is Candela? Candela is the team leader of Team Red, or Team Valor. She is of medium difficulty between Blanche and Spark. If you don’t want to fight the hardest ones directly, you should challenge Candela. Her team is as follows:
Super League (up to a maximum of 1500 CP):
Slugma: Counter: Any Rock, Ground and Water type Pokémon
Vulpix: Counter: Any Rock, Ground and Water type Pokémon
Charmander: Counter: Any Rock, Ground and Water type Pokémon
How hard is it? The Super League should not pose any problems for her either. Anyone with Rock, Ground, and Water type Pokémon just under 1500 CP should win here.
Hyper League (up to a maximum of 2500 CP):
Alolan Marowak: Counter: Any Rock, Dark, Ground, Ghost, and Water type Pokémon
Houndoom: Counter: Any Fighting, Rock, Water, and Ground type Pokémon
Infernape: Counter: Any Flying, Psychic, Ground, and Water type Pokémon
How hard is it? If you have the right counters, you will win. It can get a bit trickier with the wrong Pokémon. We especially recommend Water and Ground type Pokémon, as they are effective against each of Candela’s Pokémon.
Master League (no CP limit):
Infernape: Counter: Groudon, Kyogre, Mewtwo, and other Pokémon of type Ground, Water, Flying, and Psychic
Electivire: Counter: Groudon, Rhydon, Rhyperior, and other Ground type Pokémon
Zapdos: Counter: Tyranitar, Rhydon, Golem, Kyogre, and other Pokémon of type Rock, Electric, and Water
How hard is it? Here the first trainers face a challenge. If you don’t have the right counters, you could lose. We recommend Groudon, Tyranitar, and Kyogre for your team.
Spark: Team Instinct – Difficulty: Hard
Who is Spark? Spark is the team leader of Team Yellow, or Team Instinct. He is the hardest to defeat out of all the team leaders. You need good counters here, otherwise you will lose. He battles with the following Pokémon:
Super League (up to a maximum of 1500 CP):
Magnemite: Counter: Any Ground, Fighting, and Fire type Pokémon
Shinx: Counter: Any Ground type Pokémon
Pikachu: Counter: Any Ground type Pokémon
How hard is it? If you use a Pokémon with Ground attacks, this shouldn’t be a problem. For example, evolve a Rhydon with low CP into a Rhyperior to keep it under 1500 CP.
Hyper League (up to a maximum of 2500 CP):
Alolan Raichu: Counter: Any Dark, Ground, Bug, and Ghost type Pokémon
Magneton: Counter: Any Ground, Fighting, and Fire type Pokémon
Electivire: Counter: Any Ground type Pokémon
How hard is it? You will win here if you fight with Ground-type Pokémon. If you have the wrong counters, things may get a bit more difficult.
Master League (no CP limit):
Electivire: Counter: Groudon, Rhydon, Rhyperior, and other Ground type Pokémon
Milotic: Counter: Electivire, Venusaur, Raikou, and other Pokémon of type Grass and Electric
Zapdos: Counter: Tyranitar, Rhydon, Golem, Snorunt, and other Pokémon of type Rock and Ice
How hard is it? This is the hardest battle among the gym leaders. Your team needs to be well-rounded. Especially the Milotic in the middle can hit your Ground-type Pokémon hard. We recommend Groudon, Electivire, and Tyranitar for your team.

The latest patch of Overwatch is not running smoothly. Many bugs are disrupting the gaming experience and forced Blizzard to take action.
It should actually be the contemplative time of the year, where Overwatch fans can shoot each other in a festive environment. However, the revamped Christmas map “Blizzard World” has brought a bug with it, causing matches to never end.
What happened? The map “Blizzard World” has been festively decorated for the Winter Wonderland event. However, a bug causes the spawn room on both sides to not open, leaving players trapped in the match endlessly. This only allows the option to leave the match manually.
Blizzard is working on a fix: Developer Dan Maas has already commented in the official forum, stating that they are working hard to fix the bugs. Temporarily, the “Blizzard World” map has been disabled in all game modes, which also means that no modes are offered in the Arcade that include Blizzard World in the rotation.
Community is disappointed: The frustration in the community is high. There is disbelief about how such bugs could sneak into the patch, which actually only contains “minor things”. The fact that several game modes are completely rendered useless is considered embarrassing for Blizzard.
More bugs have appeared: The issues with Blizzard World are not the only points of criticism from the community. Numerous players complain about drastic FPS drops since the patch, even on high-end machines. The other Christmas mode, the Yeti Hunt, is also bugged. It can happen that the Yeti seemingly goes into a tantrum “randomly”, even if it doesn’t have the necessary energy.
The Winter Wonderland 2018 is thus facing some problems. However, it should not take long for Blizzard to roll out a hotfix.
Are you also affected by the problems? Or have you been able to play without restrictions so far?
The “Free-Fly” week of the space MMO Star Citizen was a complete success. During this week, the developer studio Cloud Imperium earned 7 million dollars.
What happened? During the “Free-Fly” week of Star Citizen, a sale took place where the developer studio offered spacecraft at a discount. And players bought them as if they were hot buns. In the end, 7 million dollars were made.
Why are players spending so much money? As an outsider, it may be hard to understand why Star Citizen, with over 200 million dollars in crowdfunding revenue, can still generate so much money. The reasons are multifaceted.
During the “Free-Fly” week, players could try out the spacecraft and got excited about flying more ships
Players could also try out ships they hadn’t purchased yet and wanted to buy them afterwards
Hardcore fans love to show off how they can finally fly through space in their beloved ship
You get a highly sought-after ship at a “bargain” price
For fans, the ships are more than just virtual items, they can be compared to a collection of real cars
Star Citizen has its own community, which is more comparable to an exclusive “golf club”
Within the club, reputation is gained by owning as many spacecraft as possible
More than just a game
That’s why Star Citizen is more than just a game: What Chris Roberts has created with Star Citizen goes beyond a regular online game. For many fans, it’s like a second life. It’s no longer really about being able to play a finished MMO one day.
On a meta level, it’s about being a member of the “Star Citizen Club” and defining oneself through the spacecraft one owns. It’s about being involved in the development of such a massive project and experiencing its gradual development.
The development of Star Citizen has essentially become a type of online game itself, into which fans are willing to invest a lot of money. So it shouldn’t be surprising why so much money can be raised during a “Free Fly” week with ship sales.
In the fighting game Street Fighter 5, you can now see advertisements in the game. This looks very strange and has been met with a lot of criticism from fans.
What’s up with the ads? If you look at your fighters’ outfits since the last patch of Capcom’s fighting game Street Fighter 5, you might notice the logo of Capcom’s Pro Tour Event. The logo can be found on the fighter Guile instead of his US flag tattoo, and it also prominently appears on his shirt in several places.
What do the logos bring? Luckily, the logos can be turned off, but those who keep them on receive 12 units of Fight Money per match, which is the in-game currency of Street Fighter 5.
Fans hate the ads
Advertisement logos ruin the atmosphere: Right after the implementation of the logos, discussions already heated up on Reddit. Fans of the game are just astonished at how cheap and carelessly this all looks.
That iconic heroes like Dhalsim, Guile, or Blanka are now turning into walking billboards doesn’t sit well with many fans. The logos in no way fit the lore of the heroes and the atmosphere of the game. Here are a few samples of the opinions:
Guile is a US soldier and patriot; he would never trade the flag of his homeland for a soulless company logo!
Dhalsim wears the skulls of deceased children from his village around his neck. When logos are activated, they are slapped onto one of the skulls. Such a thing is profoundly tasteless, and Dhalsim would never do that!
Particularly ridiculous is said to be Akuma’s finishing move, where he turns triumphantly in front of the screen after his devastating demon attack. However, with a huge advertisement logo on his back, that can no longer be taken seriously, and the cool effect is completely lost.
The reward for the ads is nearly worthless: The ads would be more bearable for some players if the reward in Fight Money were at least generous. But it isn’t, because with 12 units of currency, you can’t buy anything.
Sensible things like a new premium costume cost 20,000 currency units. So, you would have to endure about 1,666 fights with the logos above you before you can buy such an item. Therefore, the reward is pretty worthless and hardly motivates anyone to turn on the ads.
Fans fear that the current ads are just the beginning: Another reason for the anger is that many players see the logos only as the tip of the iceberg. Soon, potentially much more advertising will be implemented into the game.
Because one could also use the backgrounds of the game, as is already customary in regular sports. Then there would just be an advertisement board for KFC in the background and the logo of Pornhub on the floor of the battlefield. How that could look has already been exaggeratedly depicted by a fan in a montage here.
In Destiny 2, parts of the massive puzzle that the community discovered in the new forges of the Black Armory have now been solved. Guardians can secure a secret reward. Here’s how it works.
When the first of the four forges from the “Black Armory” DLC went live, Guardians encountered a big cryptic puzzle, which has since kept numerous fans busy. Now, there are first breakthroughs leading to a reward.
What happened? In the Völundr Forge, numerous symbols, letters, runes, and even entire rune scripts were found, which can only be seen with the help of the new forge weapons.
Fans had some theories about what it all could mean, but a real breakthrough could not be achieved. Now, at least parts of this mysterious secret have been unveiled. This gives Guardians the opportunity to snag two cool emblems that represent two of the three forge families.
With these codes, there are two secret emblems from the Völundr Forge
Both emblems can be found in the first forge, which is the Völundr Forge in the EDZ. To do this, you need to enter a combination of the hidden symbols by shooting with specific weapons.
Norse Glyphs – Rasumssen’s Gift
What’s behind this puzzle? To obtain the emblem “Rasumssen’s Gift”, you must have ignited the Völundr Forge. Additionally, you need the heavy machine gun Hammerhead. You receive this as a reward at the end of the first quest of the Black Armory. Through its scope, you can see the Norse glyphs and other symbols in the forge.
Go to the Völundr Forge on Earth. Stand in the middle of the cave.
Use the Hammerhead’s scope to first locate the flame symbol at the back of the cave and shoot it with the machine gun. If you hit it, there will be a colorful spark animation.
Next to you on the floor should be a sun symbol. Find it and stand on it.
Now you need to input the following combination of symbols and letters by shooting the machine gun: +ULFBERHT+
Now locate the moon symbol on top of the flat rock in the middle of the room and stand on it.
Now enter the following combination: +ULFBERH+T
Then you just need to hit the storm symbol on a wall. You will then receive the first secret emblem.
In this video by Esoterickk, you can see the exact process and the positions of all necessary symbols for the emblem:

What’s behind this puzzle? To obtain the emblem “Satou’s Secret”, you should have already ignited the Gofannon Forge on Nessus. Because for that, the sniper rifle Tatara’s View is needed. Tatara’s View can only be earned in the Gofannon Forge. The emblem itself is then available in the Völundr Forge in the EDZ.
In the back of the cave, there’s a box covered with red tarps. You should be able to see a tiger symbol through the scope of the Tatara’s View sniper rifle. Stand on it.
Now you need to find and shoot the following symbols: fish, lotus leaf, temple.
Jump down and look for the dragon symbol on the ground. Stand on it and activate the following signs with shots from the sniper: Asian gate bow, hare, bamboo sticks, temple.
You will then receive the second secret emblem.
This video by Esoterickk shows the exact process of entering the code and the positions of all necessary symbols for the emblem:

What the emblems do: Those who think the emblems simply look cool and are purely cosmetic are mistaken. Because apparently, the emblems are a type of key and another step toward solving the massive cryptic puzzle.
When you equip these emblems, you can activate two different signa, a type of technical device, in the Völundr Forge, which was not possible without the emblems before (see the end of the first video).
The first signum in the Völundr Forge (Source: Esoterickk)
There is a third signum in the cave of the Völundr Forge that can presumably be activated with the emblem of the third family. Whether there is a fourth signum and how exactly it will continue with the puzzle is currently unknown. However, the emblems are apparently the next step.
Nintendo aims to include as many third-party games as possible in its portfolio with the Switch. Red Dead Redemption 2 would be one such candidate. However, there is a problem: the timing does not fit. Whether Nintendo could handle the gigantic game is left open by Nintendo’s chief.
Of course, Nintendo would love to see a hit like Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Switch. However, this will not happen in the case of the Rockstar game.
Will Red Dead Redemption 2 come to the Switch?
This is what Nintendo says about RDR 2 on the Switch: Nintendo’s manager Reggie Fils-Aime stated in an interview that he would love to see Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Switch, but that will not happen.
The reasoning behind this is interesting.
Why is RDR 2 not coming to the Switch? According to Reggie Fils-Aime, Rockstar Games began developing the Western game long before the release of the Switch.
At that time, Nintendo wasn’t even talking about the new console.
Therefore, the game was developed without consideration for the Switch, and a port is now not possible.
This applies, according to Reggie Fils-Aime, to many games whose development began before the announcement of the Switch. According to Nintendo, it was therefore the timing that RDR 2 is not appearing on the Switch.
Could the Switch even run RDR 2? Red Dead Redemption 2 is an extremely extensive game that is delivered on two Blu-Ray discs and pushes the Xbox One and Playstation 4 to their limits.
The Nintendo Switch cannot match the performance of Microsoft and Sony consoles.
Although Reggie Fils-Aime does not mention this, it is only logical that the Switch simply does not have enough power to properly showcase RDR 2 in its current form. However, Nintendo believes it was more about timing and not about the Switch’s performance.
Will there be Rockstar games for the Switch in the future? Reggie Fils-Aime cannot talk about this, but apparently, there have been discussions. The fact is, RDR 2 will not be released for the Switch.

This is how pros and ambitious players react to the change: Those who earn their livelihood with Fortnite or play with ambition are constantly shocked by how much has changed upon waking up.
The painstakingly tested strategies are already obsolete.
About every decision, people say: What are they doing? Epic is ruining everything. The game used to be good, now it’s going downhill. They’re driving Fortnite into the wall just like they did with Paragon.
The craziest example: On Tuesday, the semifinals of a “1 million dollar tournament”, the Winter Royale, took place. But it was also patch day, and Fortnite changed the rules the morning before.
Now Epic relies on radical solutions: The sword and the airplanes are active in every mode. So the pros have to deal with it too.

Epic has clearly chosen a side
This is what’s behind it: Epic is clearly on the side of “casual players.” In a letter to competitive players before TwitchCon, they told them:
“We consider Fortnite to be a dynamic, evolving game that is not limited by competitive play. We believe that a player’s ability to adapt is a skill set that we deem important for an entertainment product.”
Back then, Epic did back down and reversed some of the changes made for the tournament that had come shortly before. This time, however, Epic remains firm and radical.

Casual players praise the variety and the surprises. There is always something new in Fortnite, the game does not get boring.

Our author Jürgen seems to like Epic’s decision:
In Fortnite there are two major currents that clash, says our author Schuhmann: casual players and pros. Casual players desire constant change, while pros prefer a predictable meta. But that seems simply unimportant to Epic.
This is the situation: Fortnite is changing incredibly quickly and radically. A single balance patch throws the game completely off balance. At the same time, Epic wants to establish an eSports scene and enable “competitive play” there. It involves millions.
That clashes.
This is how radically Fortnite changes: Just in the last two weeks, huge changes have come to Fortnite.
The pros screamed: This is completely arbitrary who wins and who gets eaten.
Meanwhile, casual players thought: Finally, something is happening.
This is how casual players react to the changes: Most players who see Fortnite as merely a pastime without much ambition generally like these changes – like our author Jürgen. He applauds the zombies, airplanes, and swords.
Our author Jürgen seems to like Epic’s decision:

Our author Jürgen seems to like Epic’s decision:
Casual players praise the variety and the surprises. There is always something new in Fortnite, the game does not get boring.

Are you restless and impatient in World of Warcraft? No problem: Fidget Spinners have now made their way into Azeroth.
In Patch 8.1 Vengeance Waves of World of Warcraft, there is plenty to see. Whether you want to experience the new episodes of the war campaign, dive into the warfront of Darkshore, or check out the reworked Island Expeditions. Everywhere there is something to experience.
But the best feature is a new toy that finally gives me a purpose in times of aimlessness: A Fidget Spinner, or “Hand Spinner” in World of Warcraft.
What does the Hand Spinner do? Exactly the same as in real life. The character places it on their hand and then it spins. During this time, the character cannot do anything else. You can spin the top endlessly or let it run out, which ends the effect.
Just spin, spin, spin …
What sounds so simple is a toy that has already greatly enhanced my game after just one day, as it also has a nice passive-aggressive component.
The mage takes too long to open the portal? Just stand next to them with the Hand Spinner.
The warrior just doesn’t want to charge into the next group? Hand Spinner and off we go.
The monk “just needs to adjust their talents”? The Fidget Spinner bridges the time.
For some, this may sound silly, but I’ve already had more fun with this toy than with many other items in WoW.
Where can you find the Hand Spinner? The Hand Spinner: Shield Guard’s Cleaver drops from Commander Ral’esh, a rare elite in Darkshore. However, the Naga doesn’t always have the toy, so you’ll need to kill him with several characters or over the course of several months.
At least: For me, it’s a solid alternative to running back and forth from the mission table to the bank 20 times an hour, just to forget halfway through what you actually wanted at each station. I’d rather watch my virtual Fidget Spinner and hope it doesn’t chop off my Draenei’s fingers…
Have you found a favorite toy in Patch 8.1 Vengeance Waves yet? Or do you not find such little things appealing?
Pre-Alpha 4 of the MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is coming to an end, and the expanded team is now working to put all elements together into a complete game.
Pantheon is taking more shape. Soon, the MMORPG will include the complete world with all features included.
Pantheon is finally becoming a real game
What’s new with Pantheon? Currently, the Pre-Alpha 4 of the interesting MMO is ongoing. However, the team is already looking forward to the coming year. Because in a few weeks, after the end of the current phase, the developers want to combine all systems and pack them into a complete world. Then, Pantheon will present itself for the first time as a “real game.”
Under the project name “Project Faerthale,” testers will then see what the developers intend as the gaming experience for the MMORPG. The team states that Pantheon has become much more than just a game. It is meant to be a home for fans of old-school MMORPGs, and “Project Faerthale” will give you an impression of that.
Is this the game as it will be at launch? Even though “Project Faerthale” already shows how Pantheon will look at release, it is still an alpha. This means many systems are still not included, and others are still being revised. Additionally, the content for quests is not yet finished, and optimization work and bug fixes need to be done.
“Project Faerthale” thus shows the minimal basic structure of the game, which will then be built upon. However, it will already be a cohesive game including all previously created features, animations, graphics, and more, not just isolated parts, as has been the case in the Pre-Alpha so far.
Players are already excited
A number of new employees have been hired. Among them especially graphic designers who take care of animations and character models. Soon there will be more job postings. The significantly expanded team can now focus on turning Pantheon from separate parts into a complete game.
How current testers find the MMORPG: On the website of Pantheon, there are some reactions from players who have accompanied Pantheon in the Pre-Alpha so far. Generally, the game is doing well already and awakens for many the feeling they had when they played Everquest for the first time.
Despite the changes in prices, the online mode of Red Dead Redemption 2 is still expensive. A player has calculated how long one would need to farm gold bars to buy all items.
What is the problem? In Red Dead Online, there are two currencies. Dollars and gold bars. Dollars are the regular currency earned from all activities and for sold items.
Gold bars, on the other hand, are rarer and are likely part of the microtransactions that one can purchase with real money. One must collect 100 gold nuggets to receive one bar.
Player calculates: How much time would it take to farm enough gold bars to buy all special items?
u/jmar_ has recorded all item prices from Red Dead Online and published it on Reddit. It involves
Weapons
Horses
Clothing
and any other customization options
This way, he was able to find out how many gold bars one would need to farm in total to buy all items. But how many are that now?
In total, you need to collect 2134 gold bars. Now the question arises, how much time does it take to farm that much gold? u/jmar_ has calculated this as well.
How long do you need to farm? The showdown mode is according to his calculations the most effective way to farm gold. Every 9 minutes you can receive up to 0.08 nuggets as a reward. However, you must play very effectively. Thus, for a whole bar, you need about 2 hours.
If you calculate that with the number of bars, you need to farm around 4268 hours to be able to buy all items. That corresponds to 177 days. When you factor in sleep and other activities, you need at least a year to accomplish all this. According to u/jmar_, you would also have to forget your job.
Player’s conclusion: Results can be improved
This is what u/jmar_ says: In his opinion, the result is negative. While he appreciates that Rockstar responded to players’ criticism, the step is still not sufficient. He cites seven items from his list that alone would require nearly 250 hours.
In the current state of the game, it is physically impossible to play and get all items without spending real money. And this isn’t about normal play; again, this is about non-stop deathmatches without returning to the free roam mode to give your horse a treat.
He is aware that it is still a beta. This is why he expresses these criticisms. He does not criticize microtransactions in general but simply wishes for better balancing.
For the MMORPG Crowfall, a major milestone of the Alpha is approaching. In the coming weeks, the first campaign is set to launch for all supporters of the game.
What are the campaigns? Campaigns are one of the main contents of Crowfall. They are time-limited PvP scenarios. As a Crow Soul, players travel from the Eternal Kingdom to a dying world to conquer it.
During the duration of such a scenario, the goal is to collect as many resources as possible and gain points. These points can be used to expand the kingdom. A campaign always ends with hunger consuming the world.
A campaign is supposed to play out like a season of Game of Thrones. The developers want to constantly create new worlds that excite players and provide variety. Therefore, there are also day/night cycles and even seasons.
A first test of the campaigns has been ongoing since 2017. Now, with patch 5.8, the first full version is set to be released, which should include all the important features for the future system.
All about the first campaign in Crowfall
When is the first campaign supposed to start? There is no exact start date for the campaign. However, the developers have published a roadmap in the official announcement that they plan to follow:
First, the “Pre-Alpha LIVE” environment will be disabled in preparation for patch 5.8.
Then, all players will be redirected to the TEST environment.
After that, bugs in the TEST environment will be fixed, and performance will be optimized.
If everything works in TEST, the patch will be released in the LIVE environment.
The first campaigns will only last a few days. The more stable the system runs, the longer players will be able to compete in the scenario.
What is included in the campaign? The first campaign is supposed to include all the important features that will also be required at the later release. These include:
Time limitation
Multiple continents connected by Runegates
Outposts, towers, and fortifications that you can conquer
Siege mechanics with trebuchets and catapults
PvP hotspots like mines, mills, and quarries where you can gather materials
A ranking system to track the progress of guilds and players
Day/night cycles and seasons
The Hunger spreading across the world.
The developers also promised some smaller adjustments such as tutorials for newcomers and new faction temples.
How can I participate in the campaign? To participate in the campaign, you must have purchased one of the Starter Packs of Crowfall. Which of the packages doesn’t matter, as all with access to Alpha and Beta can play the first campaign.
The online shooter Anthem will launch without PvP, but that is not a decision for eternity. PvP may come after the launch. But at the moment, many Anthem fans seem to be able to do without it very well.
Who is speaking? It is the Executive Producer Mike Gamble speaking with the US side Comicbook. They had discussions at the sidelines of the Video Game Awards.
This is what Gamble says about PvP: Gamble says that PvP is something that is “definitely interesting” for the team, but it has to fit the overall feel of the game.
This is what the fans are discussing: The decision that Anthem will completely forgo PvP at launch, has been known since June. Players will not be able to compete against each other in any form, but will only play against AI-controlled opponents.
Since then, the forgoing of PvP has been a topic that is repeatedly discussed on reddit.
In the subreddit for Anthem, there is a prevailing opinion that Anthem does not need PvP. Comparable loot shooters like Destiny and The Division already offer PvP. Therefore, many on Reddit are satisfied that Anthem is taking a different approach and wants to focus on PvE.
Arguments against PvP:
There are fears that PvP could lead to balancing issues – just like in other games.
Without PvP, it would be possible to obtain especially powerful weapons from bosses that significantly increase the power level. Players apparently want that.
Furthermore, one player mentioned that he had spent hundreds of hours in Diablo 3 or Borderlands 2 without missing PvP.
Additionally, some believe that SWTOR has shown that BioWare cannot do PvP – it quickly became dull in the Star Wars MMORPG.
Moreover, PvP often attracts a toxic, unpleasant community.
Will this be the main antagonist in Anthem?
Are there also people who wish for PvP? Yes, there are. But these are often people who are not part of the Anthem community but have decided against the game early on.
They note that PvP gives a game high potential for replayability. They believe that Anthem could quickly become boring without PvP.
You have the choice: You can participate in our poll on PvP in Anthem. You have only one vote.

The trainer battles in Pokémon GO will provide a completely new player experience for trainers. We show you what awaits you.
Niantic has announced the PvP mode. This mode allows players to compete against each other for the first time. You can show who the stronger trainer is and receive rewards at the end.
We from MeinMMO were invited by Niantic to a press event and were able to test the PvP mode. Therefore, we can now report to you what awaits you in the new battle system and how it works.
What’s included in the new PvP feature
We will now show you step by step what the new battle mode in Pokémon GO has to offer. We will list each new feature for you and explain what this innovation brings.
Here is a brief overview of all the new features, and then we will go into detail:
You can fight against all players. This is done by scanning the battle code. You can challenge ultra friends from any distance.
You can challenge your opponents in different leagues.
A second charge attack makes you variable in the fights.
You can use a shield twice per fight to absorb the opponent’s attack.
You can fight as often as you like without using potions or revives.
As rewards, you can earn stardust and the Sinnoh stone.
Fights against the team leaders as NPCs are possible.
How can I challenge other trainers?
Battle code to fight: To fight against another player, you first need to challenge them. This is done with a battle code that you find in your Nearby list.
Do I need to be near the trainer for a battle? If you are already ultra friends with your opponent, you can challenge them from any distance. How this feature works exactly is still unknown.
Scanning the battle code: If you want to challenge a player, you need to scan this code from them. A camera will open in your game to read the code. The other party must confirm your invitation. Then the battle can begin.
Selecting the battle league
How do the battle leagues work? To start the battle you need to first select the league you want to battle in. The leagues are based on the CP of your Pokémon.
Great League: A league for Pokémon with a maximum of 1500 CP.
Ultra League: A league for Pokémon with a maximum of 2500 CP.
Master League: A league without CP limit for your Pokémon.
What’s the purpose of the leagues? The leagues are meant to encourage weaker trainers to participate in battles. A level 40 player can compete at the same level as a level 20 player, just because they are battling in the Great League, where only Pokémon with a maximum of 1500 CP are allowed.
Choosing Pokémon
Can you fight with many Pokémon? In PvP, you can only use three Pokémon. So think carefully about which Pokémon you want to bring.
Why only three Pokémon? Niantic wants to prevent constant switching of Pokémon. There should be a battle and not a constant changing of Pokémon to exploit the opponent’s weaknesses. That’s why there are only three instead of six Pokémon.
Can I battle with all Pokémon? You cannot have only two Pokémon in your battle team. Ditto and Ninjatom are off-limits. Otherwise, you can battle with all Pokémon.
This is how battling works
Are there any innovations in the battle? After you’ve assembled your team, you can measure yourself in battle. There are some innovations compared to the arena battles.
Thanks to Spieletrend for the photos from the event.
A second charge attack in battle: The biggest innovation is the use of two charge attacks. Your Pokémon can learn another charge attack through the use of stardust and candies.
What does the second charge attack bring? With the second attack, you can make your Pokémon variable. It can master attacks of two types and be effective against multiple types.
A Kyogre with the charge attacks Hydro Pump and Thunder can be effective against Fire, Ground, and Rock and also effective against Water and Flying Pokémon.
How can you use the charge attacks? You use the quick attacks as usual by tapping on the screen. On the left and right of your Pokémon, the two charge attacks charge up. When one of those bars is full, you can use that attack.
The charge attack can be strengthened: The faster you press the field that appears when using the charge attack, the stronger the charge attack will be. You have a total of five seconds for this. It’s about speed in your fingers.
Cooldown makes constant switching difficult: Whoever constantly switches their Pokémon despite having two charge attacks will be punished. If you switch your Pokémon in battle, it comes with a cooldown period. During this time you cannot attack, but your opponent can deal damage.
Deflecting charge attacks thanks to a shield: If your opponent uses the charge attack, you have five seconds to deploy a defense shield. You have this shield two times throughout the entire battle. So think carefully about when to use the shield.
Can you dodge attacks without a shield? The classic dodging, as we know it from arena battles, does not exist in PvP mode. You can only absorb an attack by using the shield.
The battle is time-limited: Those who think they can simply use a Heiteria or similar to survive a long time in the battle are mistaken. The battle is time-limited and can only be won if the opposing Pokémon is defeated.
When does a battle end? The battle ends when one trainer has lost all three Pokémon. They then leave as the loser. If the time runs out in the battle, the trainer with more healthy Pokémon in their team wins. If both trainers have the same number of healthy Pokémon, the trainer whose Pokémon have more HP left wins.
Do I have to revive my Pokémon afterwards? The entire battling process occurs without potions or revives. You do not need to revive any Pokémon after a battle.
These rewards await you after the battle
There is no loser: To keep the battle fair and reward both trainers, both players receive a reward. This is slightly higher for the winner than for the loser.
What are the rewards? In the demo version that we were allowed to test, there was a large amount of stardust and the Sinnoh stone as a reward. However, what exactly the rewards will look like is still unknown. However, the Sinnoh stone is definitely a part of the rewards.
How often do you get the rewards? You can fight against friends as often as you like. However, the rewards are limited to three battles per day. Starting from the fourth battle, you will not receive any more rewards.
New medal for battling: In addition to the rewards, you will also receive a new medal. Here you will be rewarded for battling in the Master League.
Battling against NPCs
Challenge your team leader: Another big innovation is battling against NPCs, i.e., computer-controlled opponents. The opponents are the three team leaders of Team Red, Blue, and Yellow.
How do I challenge team leaders? You can challenge team leaders in a similar way as players. In your Nearby list, you will find Blanche, Candela, and Spark as opponents. There you can train and improve your skills. You can challenge all leaders, no matter which team you are in. The leaders have different difficulty levels, which are as follows:
Blanche (Team Blue) is the easiest to defeat.
Candela (Team Red) is the medium NPC.
Spark (Team Yellow) is the hardest to defeat.
Does battling differ? The battle proceeds in the same manner as against human opponents. You select the league you want to participate in beforehand and then choose the appropriate Pokémon.
Which Pokémon do the team leaders fight with? The team leaders have a different team in each league. You can therefore battle against a total of nine different teams (three team leaders, each at three different levels).
Team leaders fight with legendary birds:
In the other leagues, the team leaders battle with different Pokémon. Be surprised at which Pokémon await you.
Do you also get rewards there? You receive rewards for a battle against the team leaders once per day. These are identical to the rewards for battles against friends. You do not receive any more rewards for each additional battle.
Trainer Ace medal comes back: The Trainer Ace medal, which could no longer be improved after the arena update in 2017, is coming back. You will make progress on this medal after every victory against the team leaders.
This feature may still change: We were able to test a beta version of the PvP mode. This was not the final version. Therefore, small details may still change, and the version was not final.
Are you looking forward to the new PvP? Who do you want to challenge first?
As announced, the Time to Kill (TTK) in Battlefield 5 has been adjusted. However, the changes have not been well received by players so far. What’s going on?
What happened? On December 12, DICE made changes to the Time to Kill in Battlefield 5. After concrete details were revealed and some players had a chance to try out the changes, disillusionment quickly set in. Many fans are letting off steam on Reddit.
Here’s how the Time to Kill in Battlefield 5 is changing in detail
In an official post on Reddit, DICE recently shared the exact adjustments to the Time to Kill. The changes have been active since yesterday. Players who prefer the old damage model have the option to play in the new Conquest Core Playlist with the old TTK values.
Here are the changes to the TTK in detail: To illustrate the changes, DICE published a table comparing the current values with the previous ones. The red values in parentheses represent the old values.
The damage multipliers for headshots remained unchanged for all weapons. Instead, the developers lowered a large part of the remaining multipliers for various weapon classes that affect hits in other body areas.
In practice, this means that the maximum damage of most weapons is now lower. On average, the affected weapons now require one more hit to take down enemies.
Here are the distance changes for damage drop-off: As part of the TTK changes, the distances at which you need more bullets to secure a kill have also changed. The old values are in parentheses. BTK stands for Bullets to Kill – the number of bullets required for a kill. Here are the distance changes in detail:
Semi Auto Rifles:
Gewehr 43, Selbstlader 1916: Drop to 4 BTK at 39 m (previously never)
Turner SMLE: Drop to 4 BTK at 28 m (previously 50 m), 5 BTK at 68 m (previously never)
Gewehr 1-5: Drop to 4 BTK at 13 m (previously 30 m), 5 BTK at 44 m (previously 50 m), 6 BTK at 63 m (previously never)
M1 Carbine: Drop to 5 BTK at 39 m (previously 50 m), 6 BTK at 63 m (previously never)
Assault Rifles:
Can no longer kill with 4 pure body shots
Drop to 6 BTK at 21 m (previously 50 m), 7 BTK at 53 m (previously never)
LMGs, MMGs:
Can no longer kill with 4 pure body shots
Drop to 6 BTK at 21 m (previously 50 m), 7 BTK at 57 m (previously never)
SMGs:
Can no longer kill with 4 pure body shots
Drop to 6 BTK at 15 m (previously 25 m), 7 BTK at 32 m (previously 50 m), 8 BTK at 49 m (previously 75 m), 9 BTK at 70 m (previously never)
MP34 does not drop to 9 BTK with increasing distance
Self-Loading Rifles:
Now require an extra shot if the lower body region, arms, or legs are hit, unless the other shot was a headshot
Buckshot Shotguns
Remain unchanged. Same damage
But the problem is not only general in nature. The individual changes themselves, such as the distance nerf for submachine guns, also find little support among fans. It will be interesting to see how DICE reacts to this criticism.
What do you think of these changes? Was it a step in the right direction? Or did DICE turn the wrong screws?
Slug Shotguns:
Were slightly adjusted: Less damage on hits to the lower body region, arms, or legs
These changes are not set in stone. DICE asks players to test the new values and compare them with the old TTK system in the Conquest Core Playlist. Feedback will then play a crucial role in further development.
This is how fans are reacting to the changes in TTK
So far, the reaction of fans has been characterized by disappointment, anger, and confusion. In the relevant DICE thread on Reddit, many fans are letting off steam.
Here’s why fans are disappointed: Because these changes apparently overlook the wishes of many fans – and despite DICE repeatedly emphasizing that they listen to community feedback and take it into account for adjustments.
Prior to this, large parts of the community emphasized that the TTK itself is fine. The problem lies more with the Time till Death (TTD) and the netcode of Battlefield 5. DICE itself even stated that many players liked the old TTK. That’s why, according to the studio’s words, the Conquest Core Playlist was introduced, where players can still play with the old values.
Primarily, the netcode and TTD issues were supposed to be addressed, according to the fans’ wishes. But instead, the developers neglected these areas and made changes where many players felt there wasn’t actually a need. They tailored the game to the wishes of those who no longer play it.
But the problem is not only general in nature. The individual changes themselves, such as the distance nerf for submachine guns, also find little support among fans. It will be interesting to see how DICE reacts to this criticism.
The new patch for Star Wars: The Old Republic is now live. New story, a fresh planet, and plenty of Jedi in distress are waiting for their rescue.
Since yesterday (December 12, 2018), the latest patch of Star Wars: The Old Republic is online. Update 5.10 “Siege of the Jedi” takes players to the planet Ossus, one of the home planets of the Jedi. The Sith are launching an attack, and this opens up a new story that is told throughout the quests. It also includes a new daily area where players can spend their time once the story is completed.
War breaks out again: The focus of the latest patch is the slowly resurfacing war between the Empire and the Republic. After many other threats have been dealt with, the two factions are going at each other once more.

The player must decide: An important part of the storyline lies in the hands of the players. They can decide whom to help with the alliance and whom to betray. Those who were once a Sith of the Empire can now also aid the Republic, while Jedi may also choose to lend their support to the Empire (as it should be). The decision impacts the story and could also have long-term consequences.
Kicking off a major expansion? Many players suspect that with the renewed outbreak of a war, a new expansion is being hinted at that could follow next year. However, there are currently no further clues or concrete indications – it is wishful thinking of the community, which has been yearning for more than just the next small content patch for a while now.
Have you tried the content of Patch 5.10 “Siege of the Jedi” yet? Do you like SWTOR in its current state?
The Trainer battles are now available for all players over level 10! Pokémon GO unlocked the feature overnight.
You can now battle against your friends and against team leaders. At around 3:40 AM German time, Niantic released the Trainer battles for all players over level 40. The trainer level has now been lowered to 10. All players above level 10 can now use the PvP feature.
We will give you a brief refresher on the topic of PvP before you jump into battles.
This is what we know about PvP – Trainer Battles
How can I battle? To challenge a friend, go to your Nearby List and swipe to the “Battle” page. There you can scan your friend’s battle code or he can scan yours. After scanning, you can select the league and start the battle. Alternatively, you will receive an invitation that you must accept.
If you have hyper friends, you can also challenge them over distance. To do this, go to your friends list and find the friend you want to challenge. Then click on “Battle” and the opponent will receive an invitation from you. It doesn’t matter how far away the opponent is.
How does the battle work? After selecting your three Pokémon, the battle begins. You use the fast attack until the charge attack gauge is full. Then you unleash the charge attack. The faster you tap on the appearing field, the stronger the attack will be.
This is new: You can now teach your Pokémon a second charge attack. This costs candies and stardust. With the second attack, you are more flexible and can counter the opponent better.
Additionally, there is a shield for defense. You cannot dodge in trainer battles, but you can use this shield. You can use it twice per battle. It almost fully absorbs the opponent’s charge attack.
What are the rewards? No matter if you win or lose, you will receive a reward for the battle. Confirmed rewards include stardust and the Sinnoh Stone. You can receive a reward from battles against friends three times a day and once from a battle with team leaders.
Fighting against Team Leaders
This is how you can battle against team leaders: You can also challenge team leaders in a battle. The NPCs help you become stronger. To do this, click on the team leader you want to challenge in your Nearby List. The battle will then proceed like the battles against friends.
Are the team leaders hard to defeat? If you have the right counters against the team leaders’ Pokémon, they are easy to defeat. Trainers with lower levels will especially struggle against Spark in the Master League.
We have already written a large guide that answers every question about PvP:
