In Fortnite, a new weapon is known. The so-called “Chiller Grenade” will come with the next patch, but fans are excited about the Driftboard, which has been promised for a long time. The weapon will be available on Tuesday with the new update 7.30.
What happened? Epic Games announced a new weapon for the next patch. The weapon is a grenade that apparently freezes the opponent.
But many fans still wonder where the snowboard is, which Epic has already announced. The Season 7 is slowly coming to an end, making the release of the snowboard less likely.
This is the new weapon in Fortnite
What can the grenade do? Not much is known about how the grenade works. However, looking at the grenade, it certainly has something to do with ice.
How could it work? Epic describes the grenade with “Give your opponent cold feet with this wintry grenade!” So it seems likely that it may work like the Ice Traps that were introduced in Season 7.
This trap freezes the feet of the opponents, making it difficult for them to walk properly, causing them to slide along the ground. This makes aiming significantly harder. It is not known if the grenade produces the same effect, but many players suspect a similar function already.
Update 7.30 is coming on Tuesday, brings new weapon
When could the grenade come to the game? Epic announces the grenade for the next patch. Patches usually come on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. So we can look forward to the new weapon soon.
The weapon will likely be included in update 7.30.
Update 21:06 hrs: It is now known. Update 7.30 will be available on Tuesday, January 29th, at 10:00 AM German time.
What players are saying: The grenade is well received by many players. They see the weapon as a keepsake for Season 7. Once the ice has melted, this icy weapon will still remind players of the cold winter days in Fortnite.
So “iceek51” writes on Reddit: “It’s just like the Rift-to-Go! This way you can carry a little bit of Season 7 in your pocket when the next season starts.”
Players demand the snowboard: Some time ago, Epic promised players a snowboard as a means of transport. However, the player community is still waiting impatiently for the feature.
Season 7 ends on February 28, and the ice is already melting. It’s hard to imagine that a snowboard can still travel over meadows and sand by that time. A release on the snow map would have made much more sense.
So player “Pedro-Rangel” asks on Reddit: “Where the hell is the snowboard?!”
What do you think of the new weapon? Do you think the snowboard will still come in this season?
Fortnite also has cool ideas for the campfire. We will let you know what is already known:
In Destiny 2, the return of the iconic hand cannon “The Last Word” is imminent. However, in the trailer for “Last Word”, another weapon steals the spotlight: the Thorn is also set to return to Destiny 2.
Guardians used the weapon with a special shooting technique: fanning. The animation showed that one hand was over the trigger of the weapon, constantly pressing it down to enable faster firing. The reload animation was also a spectacular spin.
“The Last Word” was a cult weapon in Destiny 1 and dominated PvP during its time, as it allowed for quick and precise kills in the Crucible.

This is what can be seen in the new trailer: The new trailer for “The Last Word” showcases the current version of the weapon in Destiny 2 in action. Also, in the second part of Destiny, it will again feature its special animations.
Guardians with the Annual Pass will be able to get the weapon with the big update tomorrow, January 29: this will happen through the exotic quest “The Draw.”
This is the special thing in the trailer: At the end of the trailer, Bungie announces the return of the “Thorn”. This is an “evil weapon” from Destiny 1, a “Weapon of Sorrow.” These are weapons that have been corrupted by the Hive.
In the lore of Destiny, the Grimoire, the weapons “The Last Word” and “Thorn” are closely linked. They belong together. For the owners of both weapons were bitter enemies:
Shin Malphur, a legendary Hunter, wielded “The Last Word”
Bungie also states: “Every hero needs a villain” and calls “The Last Word” the weapon of a hero.
The Thorn inflicted a “damage over time” effect on players in Destiny 1, poisoning them as a result.
In Destiny 2, the weapons will return with the “Season of the Drifter”, the next DLC. It is scheduled for March 2019. Fans have been hoping for the return of “Thorn” and “The Last Word” since 2017.
Our author Sven ventured into the world of Anthem during the VIP demo. One aspect of the game particularly captivated him.
That’s why I was initially skeptical about Anthem: As a big Destiny fan, I was initially skeptical about Anthem. The gameplay and concept of the upcoming BioWare title sparked my interest. However, despite increasing information, I was unsure if a shared-world shooter with a third-person perspective could offer the same experience as my beloved Destiny 2.
In that game, I play a space hero who can blast alien hordes and even their deities into the virtual afterlife in first-person perspective with all sorts of cool abilities and weapons – all paired with excellent gunplay, a spectacular soundscape, and also together with friends.
Can Anthem actually hold its own? After all, comparable games like The Division or Warframe have personally failed to measure up to Destiny for me. To my surprise, however, I had to realize: Anthem can!
This is how the VIP demo went for me: After a bumpy start to the VIP demo, I was able to play for a total of about 7 to 8 hours and did pretty much everything the demo had to offer. I completed all the story missions, tested freeplay, and tackled the stronghold.
After I was done with that, I went on a loot hunt and experimented with my two Javelins – the Ranger and the Colossus. With these exosuits, I tested different weapons and gear, leading them through various missions and in the open world.
And I have to say: I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, Anthem has its rough edges – and many of them. There were numerous annoying bugs until the end, and the performance on the PS4 Pro was at times really lacking.
Moreover, the world sometimes felt very sterile, and the missions did not offer anything that would really blow me away. In short: There are still many issues that BioWare needs to address before launch. But the demo convinced me of the game’s potential.
I find the graphical presentation very successful; the world of Anthem looks largely breathtaking and invites exploration – despite some areas still appearing empty.
The missions follow the usual pattern but were especially fun when playing with friends. The loot spiral in particular had me hooked like back in the Diablo days and invited me to experiment.
Should I focus on melee combat with my Javelin? Do I prefer to take out enemies from a distance? Am I a fan of heavy artillery or precision weapons? Even with the limited loot of the demo, players could already try out various playstyles.
I also found the gunplay surprisingly appealing against all odds. You can clearly feel what kind of firearm you are holding. In combination with the skills of the respective Javelins and suitable equipment, it creates a flow of gameplay that, in my opinion, does not need to hide behind Destiny, Warframe, or The Division.
What I particularly liked: However, a specific aspect fascinated me about Anthem like no other game has before – not even my beloved Destiny. I am specifically referring to the gameplay feedback that the various exosuits, the Javelins, in Anthem provide.
The game created the illusion that I was truly sitting inside the Javelin that I was seeing on the screen. This feeling came from several factors working together perfectly, creating a gaming experience that I had never had before.
The powerful Colossus plays exactly as it looks. It is huge, heavily armored, and correspondingly armed. This Javelin feels noticeably sluggish and moves very awkwardly – whether in the air, on the ground, or in water.
The suit’s design, combined with the animations and the cumbersome controls, the sound of heavy steps, and the hydraulics working hard – all put me right in the middle of this massive Hulkbuster.
The individual Javelin skills and especially the third-person perspective contribute to this effect. This creates a comprehensive image of the suit that makes me feel every movement.
For example, the Ranger feels significantly lighter and more agile and plays accordingly. The appealing controls, suitable sounds, and animations create the feeling that you’re controlling an “athletic” fighting machine with this Javelin.
With each Javelin, you control a noticeably different exosuit with everything that comes with it – appearance, sound, feeling. I could clearly notice this in my last evening compared to the Storm.
And this feeling makes Anthem unique for me. I have never experienced such a lively representation of the “player character” in comparable titles. From now on, all other competing titles will have to be measured against this spectacular portrayal of the Javelins.
That’s why I’m looking forward to the Open Demo: For the first time in my gaming life, a third-person shooter has truly captured me.
Since I have only been able to intensively test two Javelins so far, I am really looking forward to the Open Demo of Anthem. After the first hours in this new world, I can hardly wait to put the other two exosuits to the test and experiment with different equipment.
Anthem still has a long way to go and must convince in numerous critical aspects such as endgame, content flow, loot, and long-term motivation. But the game definitely has potential.
Therefore, I can only recommend to anyone who is fond of games like Division, Destiny, or Warframe to check out Anthem during the upcoming Open Demo and make their own judgment. It might be worth your while.
After some effort, players of the Alliance have earned a mount in World of Warcraft. Then the game said: “Haha, just for the Horde.”
The latest raid “Battle of Dazar’alor” has been accessible in World of Warcraft for a few days. On normal and heroic difficulty, all bosses fell quite quickly, so some players have already moved on to “achievement runs” to earn the mount “Whirlwind of Dazar’alor.” This is offered as a reward for completing all achievements and thus the meta achievement “Glory of the Raider of Dazar’alor.”
No mount for the Alliance: However, the joy over the mount quickly faded, as the user Buuloki explained on Reddit. As a member of the Alliance, the mount is unusable. None of his raid members can use the mount as it is apparently marked as “Horde only.”
Buuloki also verified this immediately. He logged on to one of his Horde characters and was able to use the mount there without any problems. Back on the Alliance side, the Whirlwind remained marked in red – no chance.
Mockery and scorn against Blizzard: Naturally, this incident drew some mockery on Reddit again, with the frequent comment: “Welcome to the beta of Azeroth!”
Since the error is quite small and likely quick to fix, it should only be a matter of a few days before Blizzard rolls out a hotfix to make the mount accessible to players of the Alliance as well. Until then, it lives a unloved existence in the collection.
Have you also already gotten the mount and are suffering from the same problem? Or do you play World of Warcraft on the right side?
The Hoenn event in Pokémon GO has also brought back Kyogre and Groudon. The two legendary monsters also appeared in their Shiny form.
However, the event surrounding the two raid bosses is coming to an end. Today, on January 29th, Kyogre and Groudon will be unavailable. You should take your chance to catch both Shinys.
That’s why you should take your chance on Groudon and Kyogre
How long will the two Pokémon stay? Today, at 10:00 PM, it’s the end for Kyogre and Groudon. Then, the two Pokémon will disappear for an indefinite time and make way for the next raid boss.
That’s why you should raid one more time: Kyogre and Groudon are among the best Pokémon in the game. If you don’t have one with good IVs yet, you should improve your team.
Additionally, both Pokémon are available as Shiny. When the two legendaries disappear from raids, the Shinys will disappear as well. So you should take your chance again.
When will Kyogre and Groudon return? There is no information about a return. Last time, it took almost a year for the two monsters to reappear in raids. It could well be that it will take that long again.
Who comes after the two monsters? A new legendary raid boss has not yet been announced. However, it could be the Lake Trio or Dialga and Palkia. But nothing has been confirmed yet. The announcement will probably come tomorrow at 10:00 PM.
It is also rumored that Rayquaza will return. It is the missing part of the Weather Trio and would fit well with Kyogre and Groudon.
Update January 29: Last night, Palkia was already confirmed as a new raid boss!
Are Zigzagoon and Swablu disappearing too? With the end of the Hoenn event, the spawns of Generation 3 will decrease significantly. This lowers your chance of encountering shiny Swablu and Zigzagoon, as they were more common during the event. However, you will still be able to find both shiny forms in the game. The chance of finding such a shiny is typically 1 in 450.
Secret symbols or gibberish? A player deciphered the characters in Fort Tarsis during the VIP demo of Anthem.
What is it about? In the VIP demo of Anthem, players stumbled upon strange characters. Especially in the city of Fort Tarsis, letters, posters, or messages in an unknown language were often found.
The player dragoonjefy parked his Javelin in the demo and took it upon himself to decipher the strange “Tarsis language” – successfully! The player hoped to uncover hidden lore through the characters.
How was the language deciphered? The resourceful freelancer arrived at the solution to the riddle through logical conclusions. He looked at the sequences of letters on the various letters and chose the word with the most repetitions.
To his luck, he stumbled upon a word with eleven letters, with the same symbols in positions three and four, and repetitions in positions two and ten. In English, there is only one word that fits: Freelancers.
Since the player was able to decipher one word, he was already quite a bit further along and continued to focus on translating the language. However, he noticed that the usual English two-letter words, like “as”, “of” or “on” were completely missing.
Instead, dragoonjefy kept coming across “et”. The characters do not produce English words but rather Latin!
What was translated? dragoonjefy posted his find in the Anthem subreddit and also provided a full translation of a text from Fort Tarsis:
OMNIBUS FREELANCERS: TARSIS QUONIAM PROPTER TE PLACENT TOLLERE PURGAMENTUM!
Those hoping for secret information will sadly be disappointed: The message can be roughly translated to “All Freelancers: For the sake of Tarsis, please throw away your trash!”.
This message is not nonsense; it is based on the lore of Anthem. As some players mention on Reddit, a codex can be found outside of Tarsis that describes the trash in the city becoming a problem.
Some players are currently considering a way to play together even better in Fallout 76. They want to plan entire cities and already have some ideas on how that could be implemented.
On reddit, one of the biggest topics in the Fallout 76 subreddit is currently a post about a city system in Fallout 76. Players want to build settlements together with others. They have named the system “Teamwork Oriented Wasteland Neighborhood System,” abbreviated as “T.O.W.N.S.” (an acronym, spelled out for “cities”). In German, that would roughly translate to: “Team-oriented Wasteland Neighborhood System.”
Player Cities in Fallout 76 – Here’s How It Could Work
What are T.O.W.N.S.? The creator of the post already has a pretty clear idea of how these T.O.W.N.S. should function. There could be ruins from before the war that players could claim. In the description, it sounds similar to the workshops that already exist.
Various locations could thus become ruins that players can occupy and expand, with between 8 and 24 buildable plots. These plots could then be freely developed by the participating players. Building sites for community buildings could also be feasible.
However, it would be necessary for players to spawn back in their T.O.W.N. every time they re-enter the game. The current server sharding and also server hopping would no longer be possible.
What is the purpose of this? The goal of T.O.W.N.S. is for players to collaboratively build a settlement – which is essentially the goal of the inhabitants of Fallout 76 anyway. After all, they should rebuild America.
Through these settlements, some players could then play together permanently, explore the world, and create a place they have established themselves. The creator Fluxxen has even planned professions for role-playing such as mayor, trader, or judge.
This is how the community responds to the idea: Aside from some jabs at Bethesda for the lack of content, many players find this idea very appealing. Especially in connection with the upcoming player shops, the settlements seem like a great idea.
Various settlements would also encourage trade with other cities, build industries, and fill the world with life. Reddit users are continuously developing the idea further in the comments.
Whether something concrete develops from this idea remains to be seen. However, since Bethesda has been more active on reddit lately, it could happen that the developers notice this idea.
Would you live in such a settlement?
Further possible features for Fallout 76 have already been found in the data. 5 of them would be particularly cool for our author Benedict:
We show you the predictions for Team of the Week 20 (TOTW 20) in FIFA 19. The following players could receive a new Inform card in the new week.
The TOTW time in FUT 19: On January 30th, the 20th Team of the Week appears in FIFA 19. From 7 PM, you can pull special cards from packs for one week, until TOTW 21 takes over on February 6th.
What are the TOTW predictions? The predictions are based on the performances of players over the last week.
While the predictions are never 100% accurate, they still provide a good overview of the players who could make it into the Team of the Week.
How to take advantage of the predictions: If you need more coins for FUT, you should consider buying some of these predictions now. When they make it into the Team of the Week, their value will increase and you can sell them for profit. You can find more about this in our TOTW Trading Guide.
In World of Warcraft the annual Lunar Festival takes place. However, in 2019 there are some new features that especially collectors should not miss.
The Lunar Festival is one of the oldest events in World of Warcraft, held every year. The event is regularly updated with new rewards, ensuring that even after more than a decade, something new can still be earned.
New rewards in 2019: This year there are a total of seven new toys that you can buy from the vendors at the Moonlight Glade. These include two complete costumes, consisting of three parts each, and a new hearthstone with a special animation. Here are the costs of the individual items:
Green Dragon Tail Costume: 25 Coins of the Ancients
Green Dragon Body Costume: 10 Coins of the Ancients
Green Dragon Head Costume: 25 Coins of the Ancients
Blue Dragon Tail Costume: 25 Coins of the Ancients
Blue Dragon Body Costume: 10 Coins of the Ancients
Blue Dragon Head Costume: 25 Coins of the Ancients
Hearthstone of the Moon Elder: 30 Coins of the Ancients
So if you want all the rewards from this year, you will need 150 coins. Remember that you can collect coins with multiple characters and then buy the toys on different avatars. After all, they all end up in the same collection.
How to collect Coins of the Ancients: Coins of the Ancients can be obtained from special Ancestor NPCs found throughout the world. Each Ancestor has a quest that rewards a coin. It will be a journey around the globe, so you should plan a lot of time, or just watch a great series on the side. You can easily find all Ancestors with an addon, such as Candy Buckets (link to download on Curse). The addon conveniently shows you all Ancestors on the map so that you don’t miss any or have to google for them for too long.
Past necessary for some zones: Please keep in mind that some zones have changed significantly since the introduction of the Lunar Festival. In these areas, it is necessary to speak with Zidormi to travel to an “old version” of that zone and locate the corresponding Ancestors. This applies to Tirisfal, the Plaguelands, Teldrassil with Darkshore, and Silithus. Zidormi will be displayed on your map.
The Lunar Festival lasts for two weeks: The Lunar Festival is active from January 28 (today) to February 10 – exactly two weeks. That gives you time to earn all the rewards.
Have you already claimed the rewards from the Lunar Festival? Or are you taking it easy and then panicking as it comes to an end?
Niantic inadvertently banned numerous Pokémon GO accounts. Now they compensated the affected players.
What happened? We informed you a few days ago about players who lost their accounts for no reason. Niantic was at a loss, and players were unable to play for weeks.
Now, some players are reporting on Reddit that their accounts are back. They received some PokéCoins as compensation, and their accounts were rolled back a few days to prevent this issue from occurring again.
This is how Niantic responded to this error
The frustration among many players was high. Their accounts, for which they had spent hundreds of Euros, were gone. There was no explanation, as it was a mistake by Niantic.
This is what Niantic did: The game developer initially did not respond at all. Complaints were not answered, and the Twitter support was silent.
After a few days, there was finally a message from Niantic: The problem had been identified, and they were working on a solution. By that time, no one had received their accounts back.
This is the response now: After several days of silence, Niantic’s Twitter support reached out again. They thanked the players for their patience and had good news: The first players can now use their accounts again, and the error that led to the ban should be fixed.
This is what players report: Indeed, the first players have regained access to their accounts. On Reddit, the player “J_64” writes that a large wave of unbans came through and many players can finally access their accounts again.
This is how players are compensated: Affected players have received 5000 PokéCoins and a Hyper Box as compensation from Niantic.
This problem exists: In order for Niantic to restore the affected accounts, they had to roll back the accounts to previous days. As a result, any catches made during that time were lost. If a player caught a Shiny during that time, it was also deleted.
Are you still affected? If your account is still banned, you should contact Niantic support. They are continuing to work to restore all players’ accounts. If you have already contacted support, check your emails. You may have a response from Niantic now.
Niantic also had issues on the Barschwa day. At least that’s what an analysis says:
With the “Moonrise”, Dead by Daylight has the best event yet coming up. Finally, you have to make an effort to unlock something!
The developers of Dead by Daylight are always trying to spice up their game with various in-game events. Although the events are popular, they sometimes lead to unfortunate side effects, such as during the Halloween event. There, the developers had to adjust the event afterwards because players were forced to play as killers to unlock everything.
But everything should be better during the “Moonrise” event.
When does the Moonrise event take place? In Dead by Daylight, the Moonrise event starts the day after tomorrow, on January 30th. It will last until February 13th, meaning 2 weeks in total. During the event, various cosmetics can be earned. There are three new outfits to unlock: a complete set each for the Huntress, Ace Visconti, and Feng Min.
Here’s how you collect points and coins: At the Moonrise event, killers and survivors collect points in different ways, ultimately earning coins.
There will be three costumes in total, consisting of three parts each – so 9 items. Each item can be purchased for one coin, which must first be earned through points. The first coin can be quickly earned, but the costs keep rising.
The first coin is given for 100 points.
The second coin requires 200 points.
The third coin requires 300 points.
and so on.
Thus, the costs continue to rise. So if you want to unlock all items, you need 9 coins, which means a total of 4,500 points.
Here’s how the point collection works: Players collect points during the “Moonrise” event in various ways. A small number of points is simply awarded for “normal gameplay” – that is, as a killer for hooking players and as a survivor for repairing generators. More points can be earned for riskier bonus objectives.
Survivors earn 4 points each time a generator is repaired.
25 points are awarded if they pick up a “Lunar Vessel” during the match and manage to escape with it.
This is what the “Lunar Vessel” looks like in the game.
Killers, on the other hand, get 2 points each time they hook a survivor.
3 additional points are earned when they destroy a Lunar Vessel. This can happen when they catch a survivor and hook them. All Lunar Vessels will then light up for the killer, and they can be destroyed.
Survivors carrying a Lunar Vessel who are hooked will drop it, and it will return to its spawn. The killer can “take away” the Lunar Vessel from survivors and then destroy it.
How to find Lunar Vessels? By default, there are only 2 Lunar Vessels per map. This means that not all survivors can get one. However, the number of Lunar Vessels can be increased through special event offerings, which also grant additional bloodpoints. Survivors carrying a Lunar Vessel should be cautious, as they glow faintly through the vessel and are therefore easier to spot by the killer.
If you still have offerings from last year, you’re in luck: they will be converted into the new offerings.
Cosmetics will be available in the shop later: If you can’t unlock all items during the event, you can purchase them later in the shop – but then for real money. The event coins expire 2 weeks after the event ends, so make sure to spend them in time.
What were the previous problems? During the Halloween event, survivors did not have to survive to fulfill their event goals. They could fill a vial and then simply “die” to start the next round while still receiving the points. This led many survivors to fill their vials and then reveal themselves to the killer to quickly move on to the next match.
Cortyn says: To me, the planned features and changes seem perfect compared to previous events. Finally, killers and survivors must push themselves until the last second to fully benefit from the event. I’m really looking forward to the event and hope other players will be just as motivated.
Are you already excited for the “Moonrise” event? Or are you not interested at all?
Dead by Daylight is now cracking down hard on toxic players:
Some players have discovered that in Overwatch it is currently possible in some cases to see the opposing team earlier than intended. This provides an easily exploitable advantage.
On the map Busan, it is currently possible for the enemy hero lineup to be visible shortly after the start – significantly earlier than would normally be possible through the match overview or at the first encounter.
Bug on Busan, or intended?
What effect does the bug have? When players stand in their spawn area on Busan, they can see the map itself in the background through the hero selection. However, this is not an image or animation.
The map is visible, and it is live from the current match. More specifically, the enemy spawn area can be recognized. Because it is a “live broadcast”, the opposing team can be observed when leaving the spawn area.
Normally, it would be significantly later to see which heroes the opponents are playing. Only the first encounter or the overview a few seconds after the start would provide insight. Now it is possible earlier.
The clip shows streamer TannerOW demonstrating the effect of the bug. On the right side of the image, the spawn area is visible, which the enemy heroes leave towards the end of the clip.

This is the unfair advantage: Since players can directly see what the opponents are playing right after the start, they could react immediately. Counters can be chosen without the opponents having a chance to respond, as they did not have this insight.
As a result, the initial fights can strongly favor the prepared players and grant them a significant advantage that may carry through the entire round or even the whole match.
Is it actually a bug? It is not entirely clear whether Blizzard intended for the enemy spawn point to be this clearly visible. Therefore, it is also unclear whether this situation will turn out to be a “game-breaking bug”.
Players who want to scout their opponents must wait until shortly after the match begins to even utilize the bug. It remains to be seen whether the background will be changed or whether it will stay like this.
MMORPGs need content to entertain players over the long term. This content often comes into play with addons.
We present to you the five best MMORPG expansions of all time according to Metacritic.
These are the rules: Per page, we introduce one of the top 5 addons. We have based our selection on the ratings from Metacritic: this reflects the range of reviews the addon received at release.
For each game, we present only one addon, specifically the one that received the highest rating— even if multiple expansions of the game landed among the top addons. Otherwise, WoW would totally dominate the list, as its expansions often scored around 90.
However, we will additionally list other well-rated expansions of the title.
What is Wrath of the Lich King about? In the strategy game Warcraft 3, hero Arthas Menethil became the servant of the Lich King Ner’Zhul through the sword Frostmourne, eventually uniting with his soul to become the Lich King himself.
He poses a great threat to Azeroth with his army of undead, which is why players in World of Warcraft eventually set off for Northrend to destroy Arthas.
What did the expansion bring? The expansion to WoW introduced the continent of Northrend with many innovations.
New regions, monsters, dungeons, and quests
Level cap raised to level 80
Introduction of new spells and talents
The Death Knight as a “hero class” with special abilities
The new profession “Inscription,” which allows the creation of items that can enhance spells and attacks
Expanded PvP options with epic battles, siege weapons, and destructible buildings
With the new feature “Phasing,” WoW was able to give players the feeling that a zone would genuinely change over the course of the story
Why was the addon so well received? For many players, Wrath of the Lich King is the pinnacle of WoW.
Players loved the epic story, which finally provided a continuation of Arthas’s story from Warcraft 3
Furthermore, Northrend offered a welcome change with its icy landscapes from the previous game world
The quests offered much variety and challenges – many are legendary even today
The new content basically matched exactly what players wanted
Bethesda has announced a new PvP mode for Fallout 76. It now also has a rough start date. However, as not the entire community is happy about it, a community manager promises additional PvE content.
The developers of Fallout 76 are currently in active communication with the community. Under a reddit post, community manager Valseek commented with some details about the upcoming PvP mode and promised more content. All this is set to launch in March 2019.
PvP and PvE Content for Fallout 76
What PvE content is coming? It is not yet known which content is planned for the PvE of Fallout 76. Valseek only wrote:
We see the considerations shared by those who want to see more PvE content. Although I cannot reveal more yet, I can say that the survival mode is not the only content coming in March. Stay tuned!
In the community, the statement sparked wild speculations. One of the most popular considerations is a co-op mode. This would be a version of the game that is separate from the adventure mode, akin to the PvP mode. However, PvP would be entirely disabled here.
What the community says: Many players are still critical of the PvP mode. They believe it is not a good idea that characters from the adventure mode (standard game) can be transferred. This would make many players too strong in PvP.
However, the news of new PvE content is well received. For both modes, the community advises Bethesda to take their time. User dapper32 writes: “Please, take your time. Don’t rush. You can’t afford another early launch. The community won’t take that well.”
A model complains that the Chinese gaming giant Tencent had taken her image, created a character for the battle royale shooter “Ring of Elysium,” and sold it as a skin. That’s something new: Fortnite is only accused of copying dances.
This is the model: The Chinese-American model Mei Yan has 400,000 subscribers on YouTube and nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram. She is a model, blogger, and “internet personality.”
Yan recounts in a post on Instagram that she took a photo 5 years ago. The photo shows her in a black sweater, wearing a mask, and with her arms hanging down.
The gigantic Chinese corporation Tencent, on the other hand, took this photo, edited it with Photoshop, and created the character “Photographer Lynn” from it. This is a character icon for Ring of Elysium in the Adventurer Pass.
Mei Yan did not give her consent for this. She claims she was not even asked. She was only made aware of it by chance – the model has nothing to do with games.
This is the character in the game: The character “Lynn” in Ring of Elysium is an icon character in the new Adventurer Pass. Tencent promotes these characters centrally in the game as special skins. The skins are obtained when you purchase the “Adventurer Pass” – which is equivalent to the Battle Pass from Fortnite.
The icon skins are supposed to be expanded during a season. Additional accessories for Lynn have already been announced, such as a sweatshirt or a backpack with a cat theme.

This is how Tencent reacts: As reported by USGamer, Tencent has not commented on the allegations. However, the company has already taken offline promotional material featuring Lynn.
This is how the model reacts: Mei Yan seems somewhat astonished. Although it is normal for her content to be stolen, she says. But the extent of this has surprised her. It feels very strange.
The model says: “Players have paid for the Adventurer Pass and for access to this skin. I think, in a certain way, they were tricked, and that’s really, really not okay.”
This is behind it: Battle royale games are known for making pop culture references. In Fortnite, for example, actors, musicians, and the mothers of children complain that Epic has stolen their dances and profited a lot of money from it.
But to say that the entire character was stolen is quite new.
It will be interesting to see if and how Tencent reacts:
A kill record has been broken in Fortnite, which was once held by Ninja. A video of the run shows how fast and colorful Fortnite is at the moment. It must be so much fun when you can play it.
What record is that? It is about the world record for kills in “Duo vs. Squads” on PC. For the record, a team of two players competes in a squad match, playing against four-player teams.
Now the players “ImCLutchPlayz” and “iMrSharpShooter” have taken the record.
XBOX One player switches to PC to break record
This is the new record: The two players played on the PC with “Xbox One” controllers and achieved 47 kills, one more than the previous record. They almost wiped out half of the lobby of unsuspecting PC players.
This is the special thing about the video: There is a 17-minute video about the record. It impressively shows the current, quite crazy state of Fortnite from the perspective of “ImCluchPlayz” and the special appeal of such a record chase:
The ice zombies bring a new component into the current Fortnite that must be considered
Also, the run is by no means perfect; one of the players dies, and the other has to revive him – Fortnite is thus highly dynamic here
Moreover, it is clear that both players are on a record chase. This brings in additional adrenaline as they check their kills every free second, aiming for the record, and constantly motivate each other
For them, it seems less about winning the fights – they do that anyway. The thrill seems to lie in continuously looking for the next fight and then eliminating everyone. This race against time brings in the drive.
An entertaining video that shows Fortnite from a perspective that helps understand why professionals enjoy the game so much. The opponents seem more like mobs to be shot on the go, and they actually only serve as point suppliers.
With the way “normal players” play Fortnite, this high-speed game probably has little in common.
Even though our author Robert couldn’t spend much time in the demo of Anthem, he was surprised at how challenging and dynamic the combat becomes when playing alone. After all, Anthem should be much easier with flying, right?
My first experiences with Anthem were a test of patience: Throughout the entire VIP demo period, I was particularly haunted by the loading screen bug. To even play, I had to constantly restart the game, wait for the loading screen bug, restart the game again, and then, with a bit of luck, join the previous expedition.
This led to me handling most of the available demo content alone, which was a truly tough challenge. Honestly, I didn’t expect that.
After all, flying should make the game quite easy, as you can shoot enemies from a safe distance in the air.
Why this didn’t work in reality is due to some clever tricks from the developer.
Note: Since the bugs and stumbling blocks in the demo hit me hard, I was only able to play the Ranger Javelin. The stronghold was unplayable for me. I mainly played on the “Normal” difficulty.
Flying in Anthem is fun – but not invulnerable
This is how the Javelins differ in their flying behavior: Once you master the flight controls, you can perform various tactical maneuvers, such as dodging or hovering in the air. Depending on the Javelin, the maneuvers you can execute vary.
The Colossus is significantly more cumbersome than the Interceptor, but it can take more damage.
But even when you’re in the air, you can be shot at by enemies. Various means are employed in this:
Flying enemies take aim at you directly from the air
Homing laser towers hit you if you don’t dodge at the right moment
Enemies send out small homing drones that can detonate both on the ground and in the air
Enemies force you into areas where flying is significantly more challenging
Especially exciting was the fight against three Titans (the second available story mission), which cleverly coordinated their attacks, resulting in the need to be on the ground or in the air depending on the situation if you didn’t want to go down.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jJ1XYbHSSo
Needless to say, the fight turned out to be a really tough challenge for me. However, that’s exactly what I enjoyed. It is simply not possible to just hide and whittle down the enemies with the Icebreaker. The triumph when the third Titan was down was all the more satisfying.
Why not just shoot the enemies from a safe distance? I perceived the movements and actions of the enemies as very dynamic. So, while you can create distance between yourself and the enemies, you won’t be able to do much more.
This is also due to the weapons, which didn’t turn out to be particularly accurate at a distance. With a rifle or a rapid-fire pistol, you can’t achieve much at greater distances.
You are therefore forced to participate more or less in the fight. Weapons like shotguns reward a more aggressive playstyle, as they are absolutely deadly at close range. A great relief was the realization that you are not greeted with stomping attacks when you get too close to a big enemy.
Endless waves of enemies in Anthem? During one of my rare excursions into free play, I was able to complete a world event (similar to public events in Destiny), where I first had to take out three turrets and then an enemy storm.
A pretty tough task, as I was bombarded with countless small enemies. My usual approach (taking out small enemies, then working on the boss) didn’t work here, as the enemies seemed to appear infinitely.
It will be interesting to see what impact this enemy behavior will have in the final game.
Anthem could be much more tactical than we realize now
Even though we haven’t seen everything yet, the first look gives a taste of the many customization options and tactical tricks. For example,
the Javelins have various coordinated abilities that allow for combos,
the abilities can be modified. For example, the homing missile of the Ranger can quickly become a poison arrow. This allows for different play styles
a wide selection of weapons provides further tactical options (melee / ranged)
Particularly the three highest difficulty levels will likely require a lot from many pilots and will demand very good preparation and coordination. Those who perfectly coordinate the Javelins and their abilities will likely have a significant advantage in the hardest content of the game.
Will solo players face problems? I am certainly not a benchmark for all the other pilots out there, but especially at the higher difficulty levels, Anthem will likely be damn difficult for solo players.
BioWare made it clear from the outset that players with squads will have more fun and more tactical options. However, solo players should also get their money’s worth. I am very curious to see how difficult the final game will actually be for solo players, hopefully without annoying loading screen bugs then.
What did you think of the Anthem demo? Did you find it hard? Or too easy?
An artificial intelligence blessed by Google has defeated some top players in Starcraft 2. However, upon closer inspection, it’s not as impressive as it seems. The AI broke its own rules.
This news is raising eyebrows: The artificial intelligence “Alpha Star” was developed by the AI team “DeepMind”. It swept aside two players from the eSports team Liquid in two 5-game series in Starcraft 2, winning 10-1.
The opponents were impressed by its performance: the AI appeared to exhibit almost human behavior, winning with advanced moves and different strategies in each game.
DeepMind Team: Our AI cannot click faster
This is why it made such waves: Starcraft 2 is a real-time strategy game where speed of reaction is crucial.
One might think: “Of course the AI wins, it can click much faster.” But that’s precisely what it reportedly did not do.

The team behind the AI emphasized that AlphaStar did not defeat the players through superhuman action speed. Rather, the AI was constrained in this regard.
The AI AlphaStar could not perform more “actions per minute” than a human player.
These “actions per minute” (APM) averaged at 280 per minute. That is below the level of a professional team.
The idea, then, is that true “intelligence” won here – the AI was simply smarter than its opponents. The DeepMind team pointed out: “The AI won through superior macro and micro decisions, not through a superhuman click rate.”
This caused a stir because it appears there is indeed intelligence at work here.
Analyst: AI clicks superhumanly fast in sprints and always precisely
This is why it’s not that cool: The result was later analyzed and criticized on the site Medium. Apparently, the AI did win with superhuman clicking ability after all.
Though the average “APM” was relatively low, the AI could perform an insane number of actions per minute during critical phases. This went far beyond what is possible for humans.
AlphaStar could reach up to 1500 actions per minute during short sprints lasting only a few seconds, an author on Medium explains.
In these sprint moments, the AI could gain a lead, which increased due to the snowball effect.
Additionally, the critic explains, it’s not just the speed of clicks that matters, but also precision. Here the AI has a mechanical advantage. It doesn’t miss clicks.
A human can indeed click incredibly often (the spam clicking), but many clicks will go astray.
Ultimately, the AI AlphaStar did not win due to superior decisions but through faster and more precise clicking. The way the AI team presents the AI’s victory and how statistics are used comes dangerously close to deception.
To truly measure the intelligence of the AI, more handicaps would need to be imposed. At the moment, it carries out maneuvers that are physically impossible for a human.
Nevertheless, the critic also states that DeepMind and the performance in StarCraft 2 itself are very impressive.
The event with Shiny Enton in Pokémon GO is over, and some players surely went home empty-handed. This might also be due to huge nests.
What happened? Last weekend, players could encounter Shiny Enton more frequently worldwide. However, some players left this event empty-handed. This might also be because of huge nests placed in your city.
However, there are also some huge nests worldwide that are spread over an entire district. In these areas, you can find a Pokémon species as frequently as in normal nests.
That’s why nests also influence shiny events
The problem with huge nests is: Many of these large nests are spread across an entire city or district. There, many nest Pokémon spawn with a high probability.

The Enton event last weekend introduced a new Shiny that appears more frequently in the wild. But how can you find this Shiny if you only encounter nest Pokémon in the wild?
Where can I find such nests? The most popular huge nest in Germany is probably the southwest of Berlin. There, an entire nest extends over several districts. A bit further west of Berlin, in the outskirts, another such nest stretches out.
But some small towns are also affected by this problem. In those places, almost exclusively nest Pokémon spawn throughout the entire town because the whole area is such a nest.
On Reddit, a player is now also reporting this problem in Long Island, New York. Almost 8 million people live in a huge Pokémon nest there.
Where do these nests come from? Normally, nests are found in parks. So why are there such huge nests that are not only found in parks?
Niantic uses mapping data from OSM to identify nests. Experts delineate certain areas as parks or other recreational areas. Niantic then adopts these delineations for Pokémon GO and allows nests to appear there.
The huge nest in Berlin was of course not marked as a park, but as a plateau, which it indeed is. However, Niantic also considers such a plateau as a nest, which is why a huge nest emerges there. Similar causes also apply to other huge nests.
How can I get Shiny Enton now? The chance for Shiny Enton still exists. However, this chance is just not as significant as it was over the weekend. When the next event with a Shiny runs, you should better leave your nest out the door and hunt in normal areas. There, the chance of finding a shiny Pokémon is significantly higher.
In February, Community Day with Quiekel starts. We will give you 5 reasons why you should definitely play:
In the shared-world shooter Anthem, we will fight against fascists, aliens, and other creatures. Our special shows you what is known about them so far.
This is the world of Anthem: As a Freelancer, it is the players’ task to protect the people and conduct missions in this world. The city of Fort Tarsis serves as headquarters, one of the few refuges for humanity. So far, the world of Anthem has not been given a name. It is a mysterious planet about which not much is known. It was apparently created by the Shapers.
Who are the Shapers?
This is the legend of the Shapers: The Shapers are regarded as the gods of the world of Anthem. They controlled the “Anthem of Creation” with special instruments. This is an ancient force described as pure creation.
With this power, the Shapers created the world of Anthem. Their goal was to complete this within nine days. However, on the third day, the Shapers disappeared, leaving their instruments and everything else behind. Their technologies are still in conflict with the Anthem of Creation and plunge the incompletely created world into chaos.
This chaos includes the Shaper storms, gigantic weather phenomena that are extremely dangerous.
This is what a large Shaper storm looks like.
Apparently, these storms are triggered by the abandoned technologies of the Shapers. They are active and can suddenly cause great destruction.
There may be other remnants of the Shapers in the world besides technology. Fans speculate that this shape could be a Shaper:
In addition to such mysteries and threats, the world of Anthem is now teeming with ancient, advanced technology and hostile shapes. These include fascists, alien raiders, and other creatures.
The Dominion – The Enemies of the Freelancers
What is the Dominion? The Dominion is considered an ancient enemy of the Freelancers and is likely to be the main antagonist of the game. It is a military group with fascist ideology that can be seen as a counter-model to the Freelancers. They do not seek to protect people but to suppress them. Their premise is: “Peace through Power.”
They work with the technology of the Shapers and even developed the Storm Javelin, which later also fell into the hands of the Freelancers. Their headquarters is located in the city of Stralheim, in the north of the known world. They are led by the mysterious Monitor, about whom nothing is known so far.
The “Monitor” will likely be one of our main problems in the story.
This is the goal of the Dominion: The Dominion seeks the technology of the Shapers. More precisely, they are looking for the instruments with which they controlled the Anthem of Creation.
The instruments are technological relics hidden somewhere in the world of Anthem. With their power, the Dominion wants to control the Anthem of Creation again and use their power to create a world according to their vision. This is why they stand in opposition to the Freelancers, who strive for freedom and equality.
This Dominion member looks like some sort of officer.
Scars – Raiders in a Foreign World
What are the Scars? The Scars are a non-human race in Anthem. They apparently come from another world.
This is the goal of the Scars: They appeared to have come to the world of Anthem in search of Shaper technology. They constantly clash with the Freelancers during their raids. They even specifically attack the Freelancers on their expeditions.
It is rumored that the Scars have a strange connection to the Shapers. More is not currently known about them.
The Creatures of Anthem
Alongside the Scars and the Dominion, there are many other dangerous enemies in Anthem. Like the large, mysterious Titans. These giant creatures wander through the world outside of Fort Tarsis. What the Titans are about is still unknown.
The Titans are among the greatest threats in the world of Anthem.
Big monsters also await in the Strongholds. These are special mission types where a group of four players is sent into a dungeon.
One of the earliest gameplays already showed a boss waiting at the end of a Stronghold dungeon: The Swarm Tyrant.
This large, insect-like monster is one of the tougher opponents one can encounter. In battle, it will unleash many smaller insect monsters on you.
There are also other native creatures that can make life difficult. Such as the large Ursix, troll-like monsters that roam the open game world. They can appear suddenly and are tough opponents.
It is still open which creatures are otherwise roaming the world of Anthem. Perhaps the currently running VIP demo will provide more insight on that.
When is the demo running? The demo started on the 1st and runs until February 3rd. Anyone can participate; there are no conditions.
