In Pokémon GO there are early clues pointing to the worldwide release of Jirachi. Could we expect it soon?
This is Jirachi: The mysterious Pokémon from Generation 3 has only appeared during the GO Fests. There, players were able to complete a special research and catch Jirachi.
Outside of the 3 GO Fests, there has been no opportunity to catch Jirachi. However, that may soon change, as Niantic has given some hints about Jirachi, and a data miner has discovered a relevant shirt.
At the GO Fest in Dortmund, Jirachi was available
That’s why Jirachi might come worldwide soon
This is what Niantic is hinting at: Looking at the latest Twitter posts, the assumption about Jirachi seems likely. The mysterious Pokémon is said to resemble a shooting star and grants wishes in the console games. Niantic is currently playing with that.
For example, it is said: “Wish for something, Trainer. Maybe it will come true during the Ultra Bonus.” Additionally, Niantic shows an image and posts numerous stars:

The developers are repeatedly hinting at the mysterious Pokémon. A worldwide release shouldn’t take much longer.
A data miner discovered: Chrales, a well-known data miner, has found a new clothing item in the code of Pokémon GO. It is a t-shirt featuring a large Jirachi.

When could Jirachi come? The doors for a release are open. If we relate it to Niantic’s announcement, Jirachi could come along with the Ultra Bonus. This will take place from early September for 3 weeks. During this time, Jirachi might also arrive.
It is likely that there will be special research involved. This has been the case for most mysterious Pokémon so far, and there has already been a special research for Jirachi at the GO Fests. Additionally, data miner Chrales has already found a suitable special research.
There are also hints regarding Generation 5. We will show you what players have found:
In Week 3 of Season 10, you need to visit Cube Monuments in the desert and near a lake in Fortnite . We will show you where to find the monuments.
What type of task is this? There are two tasks in Week 3 related to the Cube Monuments. One is “Visit a Monument to Honor a Cube in the Desert or Near a Lake” and the second task is “Visit Cube Monuments in the Desert and Near a Lake.”
Both tasks refer to the same monuments. On the Season 10 map, we show you the two locations:
At Loot Lake and southwest of Paradise Palms you will find them
Visiting Cube Monuments in the Desert and Near a Lake – Locations
Where do I need to search by the lake? The monument by the lake is in Loot Lake. There, south of the big sphere, is a small island. The monument honors Kevin, who exploded in Season 5.
The monument at Loot Lake
Where do I need to search in the desert? Here you will find it southwest of Paradise Palms. On a mountain stands the small cube that represents the monument.
What do I need to do for both tasks? For the first task, you only need to visit one of the two cubes. We recommend you start with the cube at Loot Lake, as from there you can directly jump into the rift of the sphere to complete another task for the week.
For the second challenge, you need to visit both cubes in a match. Again, it’s worth going to the monument at Loot Lake first, because then you can directly cross into the desert with the rift without having to run far.
This video will help you: We will embed a video that shows the exact locations of the small cube monuments here, so you won’t miss them:

What you need to pay attention to: Surely many other players will want to complete the task with you. So keep an eye out for enemies in the area so you are not eliminated too quickly.
You can now also find the stars from Week 1 and 2. We will show you the locations:
What is it about? We are talking about the YouTuber SupMatto. He is not only a long-time “super fan” of Borderlands, but he has also gained more traction in recent months. This was largely due to the fact that he allegedly possessed a wealth of insider information according to 2K.
More than 100 “Copyright Claims” shut down the channel: Anyone who took a look at SupMatto’s channel yesterday could see that nearly half of his videos had disappeared. They are either set to “private” or can no longer be accessed.
The reason given for these videos is that the content cannot be retrieved because 2K has cited a copyright infringement, and the respective video has thus been taken offline.
These more than 100 copyright claims likely led to SupMatto’s channel being completely deleted.
Can 2K just do that? Basically, one must say: Yes, they can. Borderlands 3 and the previous installments are the intellectual property of the developers and publishers. They can generally take action against “Let’s Plays” or other content that is published. However, such videos are usually tolerated or even welcomed, as they represent free advertising.
However, the rights holders have the ability to prohibit the distribution of these videos.

Many claims to ban the channel: The suspicion is now likely that 2K has simply claimed all of SupMatto’s videos wildly to ensure that the channel was subsequently closed. This would at least explain why some videos were flagged with a copyright claim even though they did not contain leaked information.
The entire situation is still a bit opaque, and it’s hard to get an objective picture of it. Therefore, one might want to take the words in this case with a grain of salt and see what else will be revealed regarding this matter.
What do you think? Is it good that 2K is being so tough against leaks and their spreaders? Or has this simply ended the existence of a YouTuber?
A few days ago, Gamigo, the publisher of the Trion MMORPGs ArcheAge and Rift, released a mysterious teaser. It suggests major changes to one of the MMORPGs.
What kind of teaser is this? Gamigo’s teaser initially consisted of a own website with a countdown that ends on Monday at 7:40 PM our time. This fits well into the window for an announcement at gamescom.
In the meantime, this teaser has been expanded, and player quotes and relevant responses from the developers have been added. Much now suggests that the announcement has to do with ArcheAge.
ArcheAge without Pay2Win and Subscription?
What are the quotes about? The quotes start with “Players said so far” and then quotes are taken that portray the game positively or negatively.
The developers then respond to this quote and hint at upcoming improvements. Given the content about pirates and labor points, it can be assumed that the game is about ArcheAge.
One statement says:
Players said so far: The P2W is strong in this game… Really hard to recommend when something like this ruins the entire experience.
In response, the developers say:
We take our players’ feedback very seriously. Sometimes it takes a while for changes to be implemented. Just have a little patience, what is coming soon could be something you’ve been waiting for.
Many other quotes also focus primarily on the criticism of ArcheAge. This involves housing, which is hidden behind the subscriber model, or labor points, where subscribers also have a significant advantage.
Additionally, the quotes hint at innovations in ship battles. In Korea, ArcheAge 6.0 has already been released, which has introduced a kind of PUBG with ships into the game.
What are players hoping for? ArcheAge is still very popular among many players, but the problems mentioned in the quotes are driving many away.
An ArcheAge 2.0 without Pay2Win, subscriber requirements, and with minor adjustments could have a real chance in the eyes of the fans. Many hope for an ArcheAge 2.0 that forgoes exactly these content after the announcement.
Some players, however, are also worried that it is just the 6.0 update, which has already been released in Korea.
Overall, ArcheAge is currently running satisfactorily and since the acquisition of Trion Worlds by Gamigo, it has largely been able to continue as before.
At the end of July, The Division 2 received the major Title Update 5 and new content in the form of the “Episode 1” DLC. Still, for some agents, the excitement seems to have faded. When will there be any new developments? What’s next for the online shooter this year? Here’s a summary of what is known so far.
And yet, there seems to be a lull for some fans. While there are many loyal fans who still regularly play The Division 2, there are also enough agents who are playing less or even taking a break.
Although Title Update 5 brought numerous improvements to the game, they alone are unlikely to keep players entertained in the long term. Moreover, The Division 2 is still plagued by annoying problems. One of the biggest is the loot. Many currently see little incentive to hunt for better gear – not a good starting position for a loot shooter.
Some fans are therefore wondering when there will be new developments in The Division 2 and how the game will proceed in the near future. We show you what is currently known about it.
This is what is planned for The Division 2 in 2019
What’s on the agenda for The Division 2 in the foreseeable future? So far, two things are known for the further course of 2019:
the next major Title Update
the second DLC “Episode 2”
What we know about the next Title Update for The Division 2
What are Title Updates anyway? Title Updates are massive patches that primarily bring numerous changes and improvements to the game. Some new content may also be included.
When will the next major update arrive? There is no exact date for this yet. However, the update is supposed to be released before the “Episode 2” DLC. And this is currently vaguely scheduled for Autumn 2019. Fans therefore expect it in September or October.
What’s included? It’s currently unknown whether new content will come with the next Title Update. Probably not. Because the developers at Massive have already announced that this update will address the major issues of The Division 2 – based on player feedback. These include, among other things:
Roleplaying (RPG) in the endgame
The way loot is acquired
Inventory management
How all these changes interact in PvE and PvP
These are just some important areas that have been highlighted as examples.
This is how they want to involve fans: Fans are not only encouraged to provide their feedback on Reddit and in the official forums, but also the Elite Task Force will be revived by Massive.
This is a group of passionate players and content creators who can shine with enormous and profound knowledge about the game. They will be invited to a sort of workshop with the developers and will then discuss possible solutions with Massive.
This task force has already helped the developers with the first Division installment to turn things around when the game was plagued by massive issues.
What we know about the “Episode 2” DLC for The Division 2
What’s the deal with the DLCs? For the first year of The Division 2, Massive has planned a total of 3 DLCs in episode format, which will provide the game with new content. Episode 1 has already been released, while Episode 2, titled “Pentagon – The Last Stronghold,” is next in line.
When will Episode 2 be released? An exact date is still pending. All that is known is that the 2nd DLC is supposed to be released in Autumn 2019.
What’s included in the 2nd DLC? Two key aspects about the new episode “Pentagon: The Last Castle” are currently known:
In three new missions, you must defend the namesake Pentagon against the elite mercenaries Black Tusk, who want to seize important military secrets. You must ensure they remain classified.
Additionally, the 2nd 8-man raid of The Division 2 against the True Sons will start during this episode.
What comes next?
What are Massive’s further plans? The developers have not commented yet on further plans for 2019. The only thing currently known is that the third DLC is expected to be released in early 2020. This will likely conclude the first year of The Division 2.
What do we know about Episode 3? The last of the three episodes in Year 1 is called “Episode 3 – Coney Island: Homecoming.” Here, Division agents return to the origin of the outbreak – namely New York. There they are expected to encounter an old enemy, Aaron Keener, whom they must hunt down and stop. He is a former Division agent, a former weapon-brother, who holds the fate of humanity in his hands.
In Destiny 2 you will soon be able to dress up your Guardians. Bungie regularly hosts fashion shows where there are prizes to be won.
Here are the details: In the latest “This Week at Bungie” edition, the developers mention the most important Shadowkeep innovations, such as Armor 2.0 and changes to power progression.
However, in the comments on Reddit, these game-changing features are not the top topic, but rather something quite silly: future fashion shows.
From Destiny to Dresstiny
This is what the fashion shows are about: In Shadowkeep, you have much more freedom than before in how you can design your Guardian’s look. Thanks to Armor 2.0, you no longer have to wear the armor that is the strongest – even if it looks like a trash can. Instead, you can wear the armor that looks the best to you and upgrade it with suitable mods.
According to Bungie, fashion is becoming more prominent in Destiny 2. Some are already calling it “Dresstiny.” And they want to celebrate these new freedoms with you – with fashion shows.
The prize is an extravagant emblem
This is the prize: Whoever wins the fashion show receives this badge, referred to as the “Levante Prize” – in honor of the one and only Guardian outfitter Eva Levante:
How do I get the emblem?
Starting with Shadowkeep, Bungie will hold a fashion show every month.
The winners will receive this badge.
If you have a good eye for style, you have the best chances in this competition.
Further information will be released in the future.
Community Manager dmg04 writes that he can’t wait to see how you customize your Guardians, what sets you combine, and what shaders and ornaments you equip.
This is how the community reacts: These fashion shows are indeed a top topic in the comments of the TWAB. One Guardian writes that the most important info from the TWAB is “Fashion Show”, many other users say: “Damn, I absolutely need this emblem!”
And even Eva Levante is happy about it, as Bungie reveals in a quote from her. She is honored to present the first Levante Prize in a “new, fashionable era.”
Are you excited about such fashion shows? Or do you have no sense of fashion at all and are just happy that your Guardian doesn’t put his boots on over his head?
At the MOBA Dota 2, “The International,” an eSports tournament with a huge prize pool, is currently ongoing. The games are great too – but fans have pointed out a weak point in one of the first matches: the commentators. They had to face quite a bit of criticism after the first day.
“The International” is the highlight of the eSports year for Dota 2. Before the actual tournament starts on August 20, initial matches in the group phase are already taking place.
Thank you for curing my insomnia!
The problem with the casters: Right on the first day there was a match between Evil Geniuses and Natus Vincere.
The big topic among fans was: the casters and how they were assembled.
Fans complained in the chat about the casters. (via reddit)
In the chat, fans thanked the casters for curing their insomnia, which they had suffered from since childhood. As soon as they heard the stream, despite years of insomnia, they fell asleep.
3 Analysts at one table
What are the casters being accused of? The casters were commentator Kevin “Purge” Godes and the two professionals Kim “Febby” Yong-min and Nico “Gunnar” Lopez.
Personally, the 3 casters are accused of:
Having monotone voices
And giving boring analysis
Although the match offered exciting team fights, it was rather quiet during these fights. There was no one to comment on the action, players criticized on reddit.
Other users noted that Valve had incorrectly assembled the trio here:
Because all 3 are actually “analysts” and “experts” who then need a host to showcase and interview them
But since all three filled a similar role, there was no one to describe the actual game moves and create atmosphere and hype. Viewers also criticized that the two professional players, Febby and Gunnar, were rather passive, resulting in no conversation taking place.
There were also problems with the stream itself. Audio glitches occurred, the sound went crazy, and there were recurring issues.

What happened afterwards? On the second day, however, the trio was able to solve some of the problems. The two professional players supported more now and participated in the conversation, making the trio perform and appear better.
This then garnered praise (via reddit) – although the praise was quieter than the criticism on the first day.
This is the interesting part: It is a problem that can be seen and heard at many eSports tournaments. “Casting” games is a skill that comes with time and where it is important that different personalities harmonize and work together.
Many factors play a role that cannot be foreseen beforehand.
Errors in the composition can indeed impact the quality of a cast, especially when the audience is used to something better.
At a tournament like The International, which lasts for a long time, the organizers probably save their established casters for “the important matches” later – which can lead to difficulties at the beginning. Even at such a gigantic tournament.
The “Ultra Bonus” in Pokémon GO has been partially announced, and some fans have already come up with a crazy theory about what could happen. We show you the hint.
What is it about? Niantic revealed the first parts of the Ultra Bonus in September. In this announcement, a player found an interesting detail that points to Generation 5.
You need to have a lot of faith, and it’s not recognizable at first glance, but the hint would indeed make sense.
Here fans see the announcement for Generation 5
What was found? If you take a closer look at the announcement, you will find in the bonuses from week 3 the word “Unova,” which is the region of Generation 5.
The first letter of each of the 5 sentences forms exactly this word.
This hint makes sense for many fans. Source: Reddit
A relevant thread on Reddit has already received 4000 upvotes. So it seems there are many agreements.
Could there actually be something behind it? If you look at the sentences, it could indeed be the case. Niantic uses interesting words so that the starting letters make sense.
They are writing about “Unusual Pokémon”, which is a very broad term and usually not used for describing Pokémon.
The same applies to the “noteworthy opponents” in sentence 2. They could have chosen better words, but they decided on the word “Noteworthy.”
In line with all these words, there is the announcement only available in a few languages. For example, there is no German version at all.
Regardless of the speculation around a strange choice of words, there are also some facts about Generation 5:
Already during the celebration of the 3rd anniversary of Pokémon GO, the three starter Pokémon of Generation 5 were already shown by Niantic.
The 4th generation has already been nearly fully released. Only a few special Pokémon are still missing, which can definitely be released separately. The major waves of Gen 4 are over.
This image already features the starter Pokémon of Generation 5
This is what to consider regarding the hint: Despite all the speculation, this is just a hint and nothing official from Niantic.
You should therefore view the entire thing with caution and not take it too seriously. After all, Niantic is always good for surprises.
What will definitely come is the Water Festival 2019:
The new MMO Seed may not be on many players’ radar, but investors certainly are. They see great potential in the MMO and have already invested nearly 38 million dollars into the game.
What is Seed? The MMO offers somewhat unconventional gameplay. Your task is to colonize a planet alongside other players. However, you do not play as a single person, but rather manage a group of settlers. Similar to The Sims, you take care of these individuals, ensuring they are well and that everyone is engaged in meaningful tasks.
Even when you are not at the computer, your settlers continue to work without you. However, you must check on them regularly. If their needs are not met, the mood of the characters can decline, resulting in decreased efficiency.
https://youtu.be/oo3CDCifetc
The different kind of MMO
What makes the game special? Seed aims to mix elements of MMORPGs with simulation. It is an innovative gameplay concept that features from successful games like The Sims and also city-building games like Settlers as well as Civilization and MMORPGs, combining them into something new.
For example, PvP plays a role when two settlements clash
You need to build structures
Take care of the settlers
Gather resources
Craft items
Look after food
And sell goods
That’s why the project is doing well: The Berlin-based development studio Klang has managed to raise nearly 38 million dollars from investors. Klang studio was founded in Iceland but then moved to Berlin.
Now, another 22.3 million dollars have been contributed by Lego Ventures
The company Novator Partners is also on board as an investor
In total, 37.42 million dollars have now been raised from investors.
What does Lego think about the game? It’s interesting that a large company like Lego invests in the German studio. Alexis Horowitz-Burdick, head of Lego Ventures, said: “Lego Ventures is excited to support Klang in pushing the boundaries of what MMOs can be. We believe in the team and the vision and look forward to accompanying them on this journey.”
The intriguing MMO Seed can attract many investors.
Investors see great potential
Why are so many investing in Seed? There are several reasons why the MMO is so interesting.
The industry is currently waiting for the “next big thing” in the online gaming space, the “WoW of today”
Seed simply mixes many elements from successful games into something new that could work well
Seed could become a game that motivates players for a very long time
Building games are popular, The Sims remain successful, and online games are easy to monetize
Seed is a game that targets a very broad audience, from children to adults; both women and men (as well as of course “Diverse”) could be interested
Graphically, it offers a stylized look that creates its own atmosphere and, similar to the comic style of World of Warcraft, does not “age” quickly
With Birgir Ragnarsson, former chairman of EVE Online’s developer studio CCP Games, an experienced veteran in the online sector is on board
The MMO utilizes SpatialOS technology, which could play a significant role in the future of the genre
According to investors, the Klang studio brings everything one could wish for: impressive technology, a coherent vision of a product, an experienced team, and a convincing prototype
When will the game be released? Currently, Seed does not have a release date yet. We will probably not be playing it until 2020.
In the battle royale shooter Apex Legends, there is currently a solo mode, but it is already under fire. Teams are simply playing together anyway – and frustrating the opponents.
This is the situation: Actually, Apex Legends is a game designed for 3-player teams. For a long time, Respawn refused to implement a solo mode that was requested.
But players are already complaining that they are being taken apart as lone wolves by players who cooperate.
Why is it so easy to play solo as a team? The problem is likely how Apex Legends matches players together: if players sign up for a solo match at the same time, there is a high chance they will end up in the same match.
So you just have to coordinate when you sign up – for instance, via Teamspeak – and then you’re off together, enjoying easy kills when you shoot at individual players in pairs or threes.
Solo mode is frustrating for lone wolves
This is how players are reacting: The “honest” players are furious. They were looking forward to a solo mode where only their skill decides whether they win or lose. On reddit, there are threads like “If you team up with your mates in solos, you’re a piece of shit (via reddit).”
Players say they faced 4 people in the solo mode of Apex Legends at the same time. They find it ridiculous overall – and it needs to be solved somehow.
There’s a clip circulating of several Pathfinders teaming up in the solo mode and simply killing all the solo players (via reddit).

Teaming is the plague of solo modes in battle royale
Has it happened before?? Yes, this behavior has occurred in practically every battle royale game before Apex Legends. “Teaming” is a problem in Fortnite or PUBG.
In some cases, the developers were after these “teamers” and issued bans – but that is labor-intensive.
What happens now? It is unclear how Apex Legends will respond to the situation – especially since the mode is only in the game for a short time. Currently, Respawn is already facing significant backlash, as they have pushed the envelope with microtransactions.
The event is supposed to run until August 27 – many were actually looking forward to it. The event in Apex Legends has also received some praise, but the problems are being loudly discussed right now.
Destiny 2 is tweaking its progression system for Shadowkeep and has revised numerous aspects of it – such as the starting conditions or sources for power upgrades, or powerful loot. We explain to you what changes with the release of Shadowkeep regarding power progression.
Where does the information come from? In the second part of his “Director’s Cut” blog, Franchise Director Luke Smith addressed the changes to the progression system that you can expect with Shadowkeep. This is how your path to power changes with the release of the big autumn expansion.
Bungie ensures equal starting conditions for all Guardians
This is what Bungie intends: Bungie aims to ensure that with the release of Shadowkeep and Destiny 2: New Light, both veterans and returning players as well as newcomers can quickly play together.
This is how it will be implemented: Therefore, all players will be set to the same power level at the start of the new content – namely to 750, which is the current level cap before Shadowkeep. This way, all Guardians can enter the new era together and level up to 950.
Newcomers and returning players won’t have to struggle through old content first but can immediately dive into battle side by side with established players.
This is changing overall: Since Forsaken, more and more sources for powerful loot have found their way into Destiny 2 over the past year. The number of these sources is set to be reduced to about the level of Forsaken with Shadowkeep.
At the same time, there will be consistent powerful rewards for Guardians on the way to more power.
Changes to Prime Engrams
What are these engrams? Prime Engrams are a core mechanic when it comes to increasing your power level. They grant you higher power jumps than most other loot. Some adjustments have been made to this for Shadowkeep.
What is changing? Prime Engrams will drop for you only starting at power level 900. You will be able to accumulate corresponding charges for them on your way from 750 to 900. Smith does not elaborate on what these do.
Weekly, you can earn more Prime Engrams than before. Additionally, they are supposed to drop more frequently.
However, they will not grant such large power jumps, which is intended to compensate for the increased number of drops.
This makes every drop in the open world exciting
This is what world drops currently look like: Drops in the open world of Destiny 2 have contributed little to power progression so far. This will change with Shadowkeep – especially regarding legendary items.
These legendary items will not give you an extreme boost, but they will also be useful in the future.
This is changing: In the open world, the so-called world drops will be adjusted to support players in progressing beyond the soft cap (likely power level 900).
Legendary items have the chance to drop at your current power level. Specifically, this means:
You have, for example, a power level of 912
Gauntlets have the lowest value of all gear pieces at 906
If you open a legendary engram, there is a chance you will find gloves with a power level of 912, thus a power upgrade of 6
New “Powerful Sources” for Powerful Loot
This is new: Destiny 2 will introduce so-called powerful pinnacle sources for gear with Shadowkeep. These will be the only ways to obtain items beyond the power level 950 (likely the actual hard cap) – at least in season 8.
What is this about? This additional power increase is described by Bungie as a kind of prestige power. When you see a Guardian wearing 960 gear, you immediately know: they have successfully mastered numerous pinnacle activities. Because that’s the only way to reach those values.
As of now, the pinnacle sources include:
the Raid
the Iron Banner
and a new, yet unknown activity.
This is how you increase your power with artifacts
This is behind the artifacts: With Shadowkeep, the artifacts from Destiny 1 find their way back into the game – albeit in a completely revised form. The artifacts will be seasonally bound. Each season there will be new artifacts with new mods that fit the new season.
If you level up an artifact during a season, it will become a source for the seasonal mods – unique modifications that can only be equipped and used in the respective season.
These mods could be entirely new, experimental versions or powerful mods with reduced energy costs, inviting you to intense build crafting.
This is how artifacts affect your power: Artifacts will make it possible to receive a power bonus. However, this bonus will not apply to gear and does not influence the power level of future drops. This bonus applies directly to all your characters and additionally increases their power.
By leveling up the artifact, Guardians who cannot or do not want to complete pinnacle activities will have an additional “seasonal” path to more power.
What do you think about these changes? Is there anything you particularly dislike or are looking forward to?
On Tuesday, Guild Wars 2 released a new update for the Gem Store. One of the new features was the sword skin “Lightbringer Blade”, which some players have now identified as a possible plagiarism.
What is the problem with the skin? The new sword skin costs around 8 euros and has a dual-edged blade, a figure at the hilt, and some nice embellishments.
The appearance of the sword is well received by the players. However, there is already a very similar weapon in another MMORPG. Many players are now convinced that a designer has appropriated a foreign idea here.
Which weapon is very similar? In the MMORPG Rift, there is the Avenger’s Longsword, which also has a dual-edged blade, a figure at the hilt, and very similar embellishments.
Of course, one cannot always reinvent the sword; nevertheless, the similarities between these weapons are quite alarming:
Left the sword from GW2, right from Rift
The weapon was far more than just inspiration
How are players reacting? Shortly after the appearance of the weapon, there was a thread on reddit that made the similarity to the sword from Rift clear and from which the above image is also taken.
In it, players demand that ArenaNet speaks out and that the respective designer be held accountable. DarkoloO writes:
It is too similar and we cannot ignore this fact. It has happened before that works from ArenaNet were stolen, and the reddit police was always ready. [..]
The designer must face the consequences, and the skin should be removed or revised as soon as possible.
The website Massively has also reported on the incident and has already contacted ArenaNet. However, there has been no statement so far.
Is the Rift version better? While some commentators speculate whether perhaps the designer from Rift himself has now created a skin for GW2, the user sharpsock is sure:
The swords do not come from the same artist. The skill level is not comparable. The Rift weapon is art.
Many other commentators in the thread also find the weapon from the Trion MMORPG significantly prettier.
What else happened on Tuesday? The patch that brought the new Gem Store update to Guild Wars 2 also introduced a 2v2 PvP map and a new PvP and WvW weapon set.
However, both novelties did not excite the players. In addition, there was a fix that added a search function to the new legendary runes and sigils.
Until the coming Tuesday, August 20th, the Festival of the Four Winds is still ongoing, where you can complete various achievements and participate in the boss rush.
In the MMORPG Crowfall, a series of events has started, allowing players to increase their stats. The game hasn’t really launched yet.
What are these events? The event series “Trial of the Gods” aims to honor the gods of the game world and offers Crowfall fans some benefits. Currently, the event “Trial of Gaea” is taking place.
The event runs until September 3rd
You can participate if you have a Crowfall account and your character has reached level 20 in the current alpha
You must eliminate other players and craft items with “Sacrifice” value during the campaign
If you are ranked for your actions, you will receive a reward
Players receive a “Gold Sigil of Gaea” or a “Silver Sigil of Gaea” depending on placement, which increases the Stat Harvesting Efficiency. This means you will consume less stamina when gathering resources
There will be more of these events.
Events Before the Launch
What is interesting about the event? Crowfall is currently still in alpha. An event that boosts stats through an item may therefore seem a bit premature. For many, the interesting MMORPG hasn’t officially launched yet, but events are already taking place that promise participants advantages.
In principle, you are already “leveling” your hero’s stats through the events by collecting the rewards and thus the boost that you can also use later.
Furthermore, this event already gives a glimpse of the type of occurrences you can expect even after the official launch of Crowfall.
Will there be a wipe? The developers have stated that there will be at least one wipe as part of the soft launch of the game before the MMORPG officially goes live. All items and characters will be deleted.
Will the reward disappear as well? The event description states that the reward is considered a backer reward and will be available again after a wipe.
So anyone who joins Crowfall now and participates in the event can gain advantages for the official launch through the “stat boosts”.
In an event of the alpha of Crowfall, you can obtain the item “Sigil of Gaea”.
Community Wants the Boosts
How is the event received in the community? The Crowfall fans generally find the event positive. Many want the item to get the stat boost. Initially, it was just unclear what would happen in the event of a wipe.
What do you think about it? Is it okay for events to take place before the official launch of Crowfall, which provide advantages to players? Do you see this as a form of reward for participating in the alpha test, or do you feel compelled to join now to have better chances later?
A crazy story about Pokémon GO is currently being told by the police from the US stateof Washington. There, a player was caught in his car with 8 phones.
What is this story about? A picture was shared by Trooper Rick Johnson, an officer with the Washington State Patrol. The picture shows a holder for 8 smartphones, which was discovered on the passenger seat of a car.
The officer also wrote a few words about the background story, earning some laughs from the readers.
How crazy is the story behind the picture
What does the officer report? He writes that his colleague spoke to a driver who was standing at the roadside. When he approached the driver, he discovered a foam cushion containing 8 phones.

Apparently, the officer was quite astonished and then took the photo, which his colleague later shared on Twitter.
What consequences does the driver face? Rick Johnson explains that the driver got away with a warning. After all, he was not caught while driving but was just standing at the roadside. He did not commit a crime.
The officer then only advised him to place the 8 phones on the back seat to avoid distractions while driving.
Is this kind of thing a one-off case? There are always crazy stories about trainers. A Taiwanese retiree has attracted attention because he was spotted playing with 23 phones and an interesting holder.
At a gameplay event for Borderlands 3, our author Leya had the opportunity to talk to Paul Sage. He is the Creative Director for the loot shooter.Curiously, the super old MMORPG Ultima Online served as inspiration for the multiplayer.
The connection between the games comes from one of the clever minds behind Borderlands 3. Paul Sage is the Creative Director and has been involved from the very beginning of the development of the loot shooter.
Borderlands 3 unfolds its full potential when playing together in co-op
The multiplayer of Borderlands 3 was influenced by Ultima Online
Creative Director Paul Sage revealed this to us in an interview at MeinMMO: When I talked to Paul Sage about his work on Borderlands 3, we also discussed the comfort improvements and his work on The Elder Scrolls Online.
Some of the comfort improvements that came with Borderlands 3 are specifically designed for the multiplayer co-op. There is now level sync, which makes it possible for players at different levels to play together. The enemies are dynamically adjusted to each player – their level is “synchronized”. Each player also receives loot adjusted to their respective level.
The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) introduced a similar concept with One Tamriel. Anyone can play with anyone, wherever and whenever they want. Therefore, it seemed only logical to me that Paul brought this idea from ESO to Borderlands 3. However, the reality is different.
Paul further stated that he wanted to make this strength of the game even stronger, which is why he urgently introduced level sync.

What is particularly exciting for me: In our conversation, I was fascinated that a single feeling towards a game experience would have such a far-reaching influence on another game. It’s like the flap of a butterfly’s wings causing a tornado.
What started for Paul Sage as a player experience in Ultima Online has influenced his work as a developer throughout his career. He emphasized several times in our conversation how much it became a passion of his to play together quickly and easily.
Exactly this feeling has now become the mechanism of level sync.
More from the gameplay event for Borderlands 3:
This is how the multiplayer friendliness of Ultima Online inspired the Creative Director:
Ultima Online was really cool because you could play with anyone at the same time. At the same time, there were games like World of Warcraft or Everquest. However, these games had levels.
Levels are, of course, a good thing because they show you that you are getting stronger. The problem with this system is that it separates players from each other. As developers, we don’t want to dictate who you’re allowed to play with.
You don’t want to tell your friends that they can’t play without you just to keep everyone at the same level. I would say it is a great passion of mine to ensure that players don’t have to think about what level they are and that they can always play with whoever they want to play with.
When I brought this passion to the team of Borderlands 3, I asked if we could implement [the level sync] and they wanted to implement it right away.
Paul Sage, Creative Director for Borderlands 3
This is how multiplayer works in Ultima Online: Ultima Online had no levels. You improved by using skills. So, someone who fought a lot with a sword improved their sword fighting skill. Someone who happily chipped away at stones got better at mining. You also didn’t have to form groups for the MMORPG, but could simply attach yourself to other people.
Exactly this simple and fast grouping experience from his first MMORPG, Ultima Online, has permanently influenced Paul Sage’s wishes for a multiplayer.
Paul thinks that the fast and casual co-op experience that Borderlands has always offered is fantastic. This should not be complicated by new mechanics.
The Creative Director recalled in our conversation the early development stages of Borderlands 3. There had been discussions at the beginning about whether more elements from known MMOs should be brought into the game. Things like a multiplayer hub or adjustments to the menu were up for discussion. However, Paul rejected such adjustments in his role as Creative Director with a firm “No!”.
It is really important that you can simply and quickly start a game with someone. WoW later got a dungeon finder. With that, you can jump into a dungeon with others and get to the point quickly.
Borderlands has always had something like that. That’s the magic of the game. It is so good at allowing people to play together quickly and easily that we wanted to build on that.

In anticipation of the launch of WoW Classic, parts of the PvP community issued a warning to all Twitch streamers. They are not welcome on PvP servers.
What did the PvP community explain? In anticipation of the release of WoW Classic, tensions have been rising between:
Players who want to experience WoW Classic as it was back in the day
and Twitch streamers, for whom WoW Classic is an opportunity to be in the spotlight and grow their channels – after all, WoW is booming on Twitch
Parts of the PvP community of World of Warcraft Classic do not want to see streamers on their servers. They make it explicitly clear that they are not welcome and measures have already been taken against them.
Are streamers not allowed?
What is the problem? Some PvP fans fear that streamers could negatively impact the game by zerging the PvP, attracting many fans, or engaging in antics to become more successful.
For PvP fans, player-versus-player combat is serious business. They want to keep to themselves and not deal with any “clowns” who bring along their fans, who only cause trouble.
How does the community plan to deal with streamers? Two months ago, it was already mentioned on reddit that 4 “well-known hardcore P-server guilds” plan to level up quickly and defeat Ragnaros within the first week. They sent the streamers this message that they will start an attack on them after 9 days.
In addition to the warning that streamers are not welcome, it was mentioned back then: Part of the community is currently working on an addon for WoW Classic called “The Blacklist”.
The addon puts streamers and their guilds on a list and makes them invisible to their own faction. However, the opposing party can track them at every step. Streamers have a tough life on a PvP server utilizing this addon. They can hardly participate in any activity and are directly marked for elimination.
If this addon becomes as widespread as its creators hope, streamers can neither
trade
nor join a guild
and cannot communicate in chat
Is this serious? It’s not entirely clear. Some think the reddit post was meant as a satirical response to streamer Sodapoppins’ suggestion: He and his streamer friends wanted to create a blacklist against stream snipers.

Others took it quite seriously and were shaking their heads at so much anger.
However, the core of this aversion is genuine. In recent days and weeks, the topic “streamers vs. WoW Classic fans” has resurfaced. There are reservations against streamers that are being expressed.
The Twitch streamer Asmongold is angry about the warning from the WoW PvP community.
Streamers want to go to “one server” – rest streamer-free

The Seasonal Theme of Season 18 in Diablo 3 – Theme
What theme is active? Season 18 is the season of Trinity. All seasonal characters benefit from a buff that creates strengthening circles regularly. There are 3 types of these circles.
Trinity of Love (Power): All players in the circle receive a 100% damage bonus.
Trinity of Determination (Resource Cost Reduction): If you stand in the circle, resource costs are reduced by 50%.
Trinity of Creation (Cooldown Reduction): If you stand in the circle, your skills cool down faster.
This bonus was chosen by Blizzard so that players can benefit directly at all possible levels. It already helps from level 1 during the leveling phase and is still interesting at level 70 in Greater Nephalem Rifts.
In Fortnite , the developer Epic has commented on the controversial mechs, B.I.E.S.T. Streamers and pros have been quite upset about the mechs. They consider the beast to be OP. Epic says: They are there so that everyone can win at times, even if they are not the best.
The problem with the mechs: The mechs have been in Fortnite for several weeks now. Professional players, streamers, and many on social media are saying:
They were waiting for a response from Epic – for a clear nerf of the mechs. They would even prefer if Epic removed the mech completely from the game. A hashtag #RemoveTheMech even trended on Twitter.
Now Epic clarifies: This nerf is not coming. Everything is going according to plan.
In Fortnite, everyone should be able to win
This is how Epic sees its Fortnite: According to Epic, Fortnite has a big idea for its philosophy (via epic):
Fortnite should bring all players together, at every skill level, so that everyone has fun and everyone can win sometimes.
Every player should have a chance to make the first kill or even secure the victory.
At the moment, however, there are players who have no chance of getting such a moment of satisfaction.
It would have been seen that players who already had difficulties getting kills had more and more problems. While the number of kills from experienced players remained the same.
This is the impact of the mechs: The mechs were intentionally brought into the game at the start of Season 10 to provide spectacle and entertainment – and also to help players who are not doing so well.
In the other “normal” modes, the mechs make about 4 to 6 kills per match. Epic is satisfied with that.
Clear message from Epic against pros and eSports
This is what lies behind it: Epic reiterates what they have always said. For Epic, it is most important that Fortnite is entertaining and motivating for everyone. The game should also be designed for people who are simply not that good. Because the problem is getting worse as Fortnite gets older:
The best players, who invest a lot of time, become stronger every day. They constantly improve their skills in Fortnite, can build, shoot, and react better and faster
beginners and players who invest little time become increasingly victims, have no chance at all, are frustrated and quit
Weapons like the “Boom Bow” were already considered noob weapons so that beginners could catch a seasoned player.
The pros react very allergic to such statements: For them, the “skill gap” should be as large as possible; they want a game where the best always wins – not a game where everyone has a chance to win, even if they have only invested a few hours in Fortnite.
