What kind of error is this? Since 17:00, the number of reported disruptions around the Steam platform has been increasing. This is the connection error 503, which apparently surfaced earlier in the day.
What exactly lies behind the error is, however, unknown. We only know that not only Germany but also other parts of the world are facing this issue.
There is still no official statement from Valve on the matter. However, you can get updates from the unofficial service SteamStatus on Twitter, which regularly reports on the platform’s status.
Which services are affected? The error apparently mainly affects the store, the friends list, and the community hubs. This is also indicated by the website Steamstat.us.
It shows that on January 30 at 19:05, over 15 million users were online. The store and the web API caused issues. Both displayed HTTP Error 503.
Singleplayer games and even multiplayer games should continue to function, as long as the client starts for you. Only purchasing new games and using community content is currently restricted.
How long will the problem last? It is still unclear how long Steam will struggle with these issues. There are ongoing reports of improvements. At the same time, new users are also reporting issues.
Typically, such outages do not last long. We will inform you when everything is back to normal.
A new hotfix will be released for Borderlands 3 on the night of January 31, bringing an event and minor bug fixes. Along with the patch notes, a new mode has also been announced, which is set to become a permanent part of the game starting next week.

What kind of attachment is this? The 1mW laser is an attachment for the laser slot that increases your hipfire precision. It has no relevant drawbacks.
Why you should use it: The 1mW laser significantly helps you to fire better from the hip. This is extremely useful for most assault rifles, submachine guns, and even LMGs. Especially players using Run&Gun builds need a laser.

3. Monolithic Suppressor
What kind of attachment is this? The monolithic suppressor is an attachment for the muzzle slot. It increases your effective range and muffles the sound of gunfire at the cost of aim down sights speed and aim stability while moving.
Why you should use it: With the monolithic suppressor, you gain a 7.5% increased range. For most weapons, this means you can kill at a greater distance with fewer shots.
Especially with assault rifles and LMGs, which are rapid-fire weapons with a naturally greater range, this is substantial. You should only compensate for the aim down sights speed. With submachine guns, it is only worthwhile to a limited extent, as the base range is generally lower.

4. Steady Aim
What kind of attachment is this? Steady Aim is technically not an attachment but rather a perk or skill. Nevertheless, it takes up one of the five possible attachment slots (“Perk” slot) and increases your reload speed.
Why you should use it: Steady Aim helps you reload faster, which is fundamentally advantageous for any weapon. This way, you are not reliant on using the secondary weapon when you run out of ammo in a firefight.
Especially in combination with the perk “Looting” and weapons with smaller magazines, you have a significant advantage over other players with an aggressive playstyle. However, it is always good to be able to reload faster than your opponent in medium to long-range engagements.
5. Compensator and Muzzle Brake
What kind of attachments are these? The compensator and muzzle brake are both attachments for the muzzle slot. We have summarized them here because they are good for different weapons but generally do the same thing.

The compensator reduces horizontal recoil, while the muzzle brake reduces vertical sway. Which of the two attachments is stronger depends on the “spray pattern” of the weapon used.
Attachments you should avoid

A Twitch streamer for Halo apparently faked his own suicide in order to gain money and attention. However, the scam was uncovered by his cousin and his organization. He is now seeking professional help.
Who is it about? The streamer Chris “Ozarts” Harris primarily played Halo in his Twitch livestreams and occasionally Fortnite. He had an average of 6 viewers over the last 90 days (according to Sullygnomes).
He also collaborated with EasternMediaGG, an organization for streamers and professional branding.
What happened? Ozarts faked his own suicide using social media. On January 27, he shared a post on TwitLonger and ended it with the words: “This will be my last message on Earth. I love you all. Stay as incredible as you are.”
On January 28 at 3 AM, the Twitter account HooverJMac announced that the streamer had shot himself and was now in the hospital.
He also started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Ozarts. Some donations between $10 and $200 were actually received.
However, another Twitter account named Sam Miller contradicted this statement and reported that Ozarts was doing well.
So there were two completely contradictory statements. It was later revealed that Sam Miller was right: Ozarts was doing well.
Zimm, the owner and CEO of EasternMediaGG, later shared in a statement that all actions, including the Twitter account that reported the suicide, were staged by Ozarts.

When should you focus on what? The two methods differ in which areas of the body you aim at and whether they are protected or unprotected.
If you focus on Penetration with your ammunition, you should aim for the torso and the head (usually protected)
If your ammunition has a high Damage value, you should aim for the opponent’s legs (unprotected). You can also aim for the arms if you see “flesh”, meaning they are unprotected.
You should not try anything else, according to the expert. What might still play a role is the speed of the projectile – but only if you are using subsonic ammunition – for example, for the ASO and VSS rifles. However, according to Pestily, all other stats have little to no significance regarding ammunition.
This tip was also given regarding tracer ammunition: Finally, there was a tip about the so-called tracer rounds and their stats. In short: If you do not want to reenact spectacular battles from Star Wars, you should simply stay away from tracer ammunition. It would only look cool, but at the same time quickly reveal your position.

How to find the right Pokémon: It is important that you bring your monsters’ CP close to 1500 CP. The higher the level of your Pokémon, the better it is.
A monster with 100% IV is not decisive here. If your Pokémon has an attack value of 0, but the other two values are at 15, that might even be better. This way, you can level it up and it will be even sturdier in battle.
It is also important that you focus on the right moves. It is useless if you have a top Pokémon but with the wrong moves.
This is what sets the Pokémon apart: The Pokémon shown here all have special characteristics. They are particularly sturdy in battle but also have interesting move combinations or charging moves that charge quickly.
They are not the classic attackers known from raids, but are particularly strong in the lowest PvP league.
Panzaeron

This is what sets Panzaeron apart: Panzaeron is effective against many other top Pokémon from the Super League. It can be effectively used against Tropius, Altaria, or Venusaur.
Additionally, the move combination of Flying and Steel covers many types. It also has resistances to a total of 10 types! However, if your opponent sends out a monster with Fire or Electric moves, you should switch. Panzaeron is weak against that.
Altaria
The best moves: Fire Spin (Fast), Sky Attack (Charge), and Dragon Pulse (Charge)
This is what sets Altaria apart: Altaria is a brutal attacker in PvP. Its fast move Fire Spin inflicts extreme damage and also charges its charging moves quickly.
Additionally, it is hard to resist its attacks. Dragon is at least somewhat effective against almost everything, and alternatively, you can always switch to the Flying move.
Altaria is particularly vulnerable to Ice moves. Rock, Dragon, and Fairy are also effective, and you should then switch your monster.
Registeel
The best moves: Bullet Punch (Fast), Flash Cannon (Charge), Focus Blast (Charge)
This is what sets Registeel apart: Particularly effective about Registeel is the move Bullet Punch. This is one of the best fast moves in PvP and charges charging moves quite quickly.
Additionally, Registeel can only be effectively hit by the types Fire, Ground, and Fighting. A total of 11 types are not very effective against Registeel.
Azumarill
The best moves: Bubbles (Fast), Hydro Pump (Charge), and Play Rough (Charge)

This is what sets Meditalis apart: This Pokémon is surprisingly sturdy in battle and can withstand a lot of damage. Additionally, it has a surprising charge move with Ice Punch that can effectively hit many Pokémon.
Meditalis can be one of your most important Pokémon in battle, as you can use it well against other Fighting-type Pokémon, Bollterus, or Registeel. However, when facing Fairy, Flying, and Ghost-type Pokémon, you should switch.
Deoxys (Defense Form)
The best moves: Counter (Fast), Thunderbolt (Charge), and Stone Edge (Charge)
This is what sets Deoxys apart: Already in raids, the Defense Form was incredibly hard to beat. This is also the case in PvP mode. Additionally, it masters moves from many different types and is therefore ideally suited.
Interestingly, Deoxys can even defeat its counters. Bug Pokémon are eliminated with Stone Edge, and Dark-type monsters are taken down by the Fighting move Counter. Only Ghost-type Pokémon can become dangerous.
Since it can take down almost every counter, you can effectively use Deoxys in almost every battle. Especially Water and Flying-type Pokémon are quickly dealt with.
Swampert
The best moves: Mud Shot (Fast), Hydro Cannon (Charge), and Earthquake (Charge)
This is what sets Swampert apart: The fast move Mud Shot quickly charges the following moves. Hydro Cannon is one of the best moves in the game and deals decent damage to almost every Pokémon.
Only Grass moves effectively hit Swampert, resulting in few enemies. It is effective against Registeel, which is often used.
Alolan Marowak

Activision-Blizzard announced some time ago that the company is now collaborating with Google. For “Call of Duty” players, this is initially good news, as the switch to Google Cloud could significantly improve the servers.
What’s going on with CoD? The publisher behind the “Call of Duty” series, Activision-Blizzard, announced on January 24 that they are starting a close collaboration with Google.
For Google, this is mainly about the relocation of e-sports events from Overwatch or also Call of Duty from the streaming platform Twitch to YouTube. Here, Google aims to grow further and become successful not just with videos but also with streams.
But we players could also benefit from this collaboration. With the transition of the multiplayer servers to Google Cloud, the quality of the netcode and the servers could become significantly better.
Activision-Blizzard announced that they will organize the multiplayer servers through Google Cloud in the future.
Better servers through Google Cloud, but why?
What could be improved with the servers? Currently, Activision-Blizzard relies on multiple providers for the infrastructure of the multiplayer servers. This may drive costs up, as the publisher currently prefers to organize private matches through a player host.
With the transition, this could change, even if the current CoD: Modern Warfare likely won’t benefit from it anymore. But that wouldn’t be the only advantage. Possible improvements include:

The quality of the servers could thus become significantly better.
AI predicts actions on the servers
What do AI-driven servers bring? With Google AI, the games will be smoother, as the system can anticipate certain behavioral patterns and thereby improve the overall calculation.
Google has immense computing capacities. These capacities help the AI analyze certain gameplay styles and then understand the patterns behind them. This can greatly improve server quality.
For example, if you start a match and sprint immediately, the AI can predict this action and already calculate it on the server. If the system notices that you are actually performing the pre-calculated action, the data can be transmitted to the server faster, as the calculation is already complete. If you do something different, the action will be recalculated and sent to the server at normal speed.
More server options, a better connection – all this is what Google promises with the transition.
How do fewer packet losses improve the game? If fewer data packets are lost on the way from the player to the server and back, lags or missed inputs happen less frequently.
Even with a good internet connection, it can happen that data packets get lost, meaning important information does not reach the server. This is when you sometimes see players who are not running smoothly but are “lagging” or an order to fire is not recognized by the game and you wonder why no shots from you are visible in the kill cam.
This point goes hand in hand with point one, as the AI tries to predict these data packets. Through the system, certain packets can be replaced by the AI. According to Google, with the transition, packet losses would be reduced and the server latency would decrease.
If the private servers also move to Google Cloud, there will be no more super bullets.
Quality of regional and private servers could be improved
What do regional options do? With this option, you can choose the best server available in your region.
In many online games, this is considered standard, but not in Call of Duty. You are automatically assigned to a server and have no option to change it. The new options are particularly interesting for us Europeans, as there are usually multiple servers in relatively close proximity, including at Google.
The switch to Google Cloud offers only advantages, right?
Why private dedicated servers? The current speeds are far too low for professional players. Most private games are currently organized through a player host, and the netcode processes the information between players at a speed of 12 Hertz.
For e-sports, clan wars, or private events, that is way too slow, and Modern Warfare is not ready for e-sports. The RAM-7, for example, has a fire rate of 882 bullets per minute and theoretically fires at a frequency of 14.7 Hertz. Thus, it can happen that you fire 2 bullets within a single update window, which then arrive at the opponent as super bullets.
The servers of the regular multiplayer operate at just under 60 Hertz, or 60 updates per second; Ground War rather at 20 – 30 Hertz. If these rates were also available for private matches, it would be a significant upgrade for this feature.
But for some, this is the ultimate nightmare, as they fear giving even more data to Google.
The data lands at Google
Even if all this sounds great, for some players there is a catch – the diligent data collectors at Google.
What is the problem? Depending on which server functions are handed off to Google, the AI could influence many areas of the game. This starts with matchmaking and then progresses towards personalized offers to increase revenue from in-game items.
However, it remains to be seen what the new server infrastructure will look like on Google servers. Server AI is a very interesting but also somewhat controversial technology.
In Destiny 2, an update should fix two broken exotics. Why this hasn’t really worked and what the status of the items is now, we reveal to you in this article.
Why were the exotics originally locked? Recently, Bungie pulled the emergency brake on two exotic gloves. The armor pieces could accumulate an enormous damage buff through a trick and maintain it unnaturally long.
This is the situation after the patch: The recently released update unlocked the exotic gloves and stated in the patch notes that a fix had been found.
“Wormgod’s Caress” and “Winters Guile” no longer grant the buff status when the armor piece is unequipped.

However, the fix apparently was only cosmetic. Although the gloves no longer show a buff after an equipment switch, it is still active in the background.
If you hit the opponent after the switch trick, the normal damage appears. However, the damage number is misleading: You still deal the stacked damage from before the update to the enemies.

Gloves arestronger than before: The community quickly discovered that the two exotics became even more effective. The illegal damage buff no longer disappears with a kill or similar.
As long as the Guardian does not die or switch the armor piece again, the 5x melee damage remains permanently active. Thus, the broken exotics were not repaired, but are even more broken and stronger than before.

Nerfs for 5 heroes and adjustments for McCree
Which heroes are affected? The latest update brought nerfs for 5 heroes. Hanzo lost a bit of damage on his Storm Arrows ability, and Reaper can heal himself less effectively. However, Orisa and Sigma received the biggest nerfs – increased cooldowns or the ability to interrupt their ultimates are likely to weaken these heroes somewhat. Among healers, Baptiste has been nerfed; he shoots slower and heals less.
Only McCree received a slight adjustment that can be seen as a clear buff. Improved movement when using the ultimate should allow for quicker reactions.

With Episode 3 and Title Update 7 (TU7), The Division 2 receives a new weapon exotic – the Chameleon. Now we also finally know what the weapon can do in detail. We take a closer look at the new exotic assault rifle.
This is the weapon: The new exotic weapon is called Chameleon and will expand the previous exotic arsenal somewhat in February with Episode 3. Despite its similarity to the SMG from Kriss Vector (also in the game), it is not a submachine gun, but an assault rifle.
The Vector platform served as a template, but it is a derived assault rifle with a larger caliber and a lower fire rate.
By the way, the name Chameleon is well chosen, as the weapon can dynamically adapt its color to the immediate environment.
What we know about the new assault rifle Chameleon
This info is new:Although the weapon was teased some time ago, only a few details were known so far. However, in the recent SotG stream from the developers on January 29, there was a first look at all talents of this new exotic, so we now know exactly what the Chameleon is all about.
The talents of the Chameleon
The two talents of the Chameleon are called Adaptive Instincts and Overlap. They have the following effects:
Overlap: This talent is still quite unspectacular. Overlap ensures that you receive a +5% bonus to weapon handling when the Chameleon is holstered.
Adaptive Instincts: This talent is what really makes the Chameleon shine and sounds very powerful and promising.
The talent includes three buffs with different bonuses. Depending on which body parts of the enemies you “work on”, different effects are triggered:
If you land 30 headshots, you will receive +20% critical hit chance and +50% critical hit damage for 45 seconds.
If 60 shots hit the body, it grants a +100% weapon damage bonus for 45 seconds.
If you place 30 shots on the legs, it adds +150% to reload speed for 45 seconds.
What we still know about the new exo-weapon
Is the new exotic assault rifle overpowered with its talent? The Chameleon sounds very strong purely in terms of talents. However, how it actually plays out in PvE and PvP remains to be seen.
Based on the gameplay shown so far and the builds used during it, experts like NothingButSkillz cannot yet draw any final conclusions. Particularly because the weapon had a relatively low damage (for assault rifles) of just under 14,000 – even for 900 RPM.
Nevertheless, or precisely because of that, many are very curious to see how the weapon performs in practice and can hardly wait to try out the new exotic themselves.
These bonuses are provided by the attachments:
+15% precision (optic)
+20 rounds, for a total of 50 (magazine)
+5% critical hit chance (muzzle)
+10% critical hit chance (under-barrel rail)
How to get the Chameleon?
So far only speculation: There is currently no official information about this; the developers did not want to disclose anything in the stream. All we know is that the weapon will come into the game with Episode 3 and TU7 sometime in February.
However, some fans speculate that you might receive a little hint in the weapon description about where you could find these weapons. It states that the special coating of the weapon was developed by a team of DARPA researchers.
In the game, there is a mission that leads agents to the DARPA research lab. Some consider it possible, and even quite likely, that one could obtain the weapon there. However, this is currently pure speculation.
