The “Boots on the Ground War” mode in the Ground War of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been revamped. However, some players are not happy about it, as they believe the mode has been downgraded.
What has changed? With the playlist update this week, not only new modes were added for everyone, but existing modes were changed or removed.
The “Boots on the Ground War” playlist was also affected. While players could previously play with the realism rules, these rules are now gone. This has stirred up strong feelings among many fans.
“Removing the realism rules was a mistake”
What exactly was included in the playlist? In “Boots on the Ground War”, players could enjoy the maps from Ground War, but with special rules.
Tanks and other vehicles were only obtainable through killstreaks, which received a lot of support. Additionally, players had to adhere to realism rules. There was no personal mini-map, and headshots were instantly fatal. This allowed players to sometimes take out 12 campers at once.

How is the change being received? On reddit, many fans are discussing whether these rules should really be removed. User macpopi says: “Removing the realism rules from Ground War was a mistake” and subsequently explains why he liked the mode. He mentioned that he enjoyed the hardcore mode more and therefore couldn’t get into Ground War. However, the realism rules made it more interesting, and he liked being able to blow away opponents with a headshot due to the low health.
Other players confirmed this statement. They are also calling for a Ground War mode with realism rules to be brought back. Crazygone510 for example stated: “I agree 100% and I don’t understand what they were thinking by removing the best game mode.”

Could the mode return? Modern Warfare rotates its game modes weekly and often adjusts them according to players’ wishes. For example, the 24/7 modes were requested back, and Infinity Ward responded to those requests.
If the complaints about this mode grow even louder, it’s quite possible that “Boots on the Ground War” will return soon.
A deleted leak regarding Warzone is drawing attention again:

However, many users on YouTube apparently associate the design with a printer, which leads to mild mockery. One user even says: “Great, the PS5 looks like a printer and the Xbox Series X like a PC.” Nevertheless, the video has already received 462 upvotes.

This is the concept: Jermaine Smit, also known on YouTube as “Concept Creator”, presented another variant and made it available through the Dutch tech site LetsGoDigital.
Smit opts for a slightly more elegant but also simpler design. His front has a slight curve to differentiate the disc drive from the USB ports. The drive is subtly illuminated, and there are stripes made of carbon fiber optic across the case.
The artist also presents a concept for a controller that appears to have a bit more grip and slip-resistant due to the carbon look. He received a bit of mockery because he credited the console with a Halo CD – the exact game that is considered Microsoft’s flagship franchise.

The MMORPG Guild Wars 2 is getting a new feature called “Visions of the Past.” This is meant to tell the backstory of current events in the Icebrood Saga. However, it also includes missions that were part of the game years ago. This excites many players.
What are the “Visions of the Past”? With the latest episode of the Icebrood Saga, we reached the Eye of the North. There, we encountered the Seer’s Pool, which should be familiar to players from Guild Wars 1.

When do the “Visions of the Past” come out? The new update for Guild Wars 2 will be released on Tuesday, March 17. It is the third major update that the MMORPG is receiving in 2020.
What was the Living World 1 like? The concept of the first season was indeed very dynamic. New content was introduced every two weeks, which would be removed again 2 to 4 weeks later. However, they left traces in the open world.

Why this is so hard: We have reported on this achievement from time to time. The difficulty lies in the fact that you have to earn reputation with factions where that is quite unusual. To be considered friendly with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, for instance, you must slaughter the guards and inhabitants of the Goblin cities like Booty Bay – and that for very, very many hours. In the process, you lose all reputation you might have had with these goblins. The problem is: After that, it is also necessary to regain exalted status with exactly these goblins.
The achievement drives every player insane sooner or later.
Also, the Ravenholdt faction is a problem. Because there, you cannot farm reputation in the usual way; you have to exchange lockboxes in the hundreds. However, these can only be obtained by rogues – so you either hire a rogue for a lot of gold or level one yourself.

Why this is so hard: The decisive factor for this achievement is, once again, time. 250,000 kills is an achievement that can take many years. If you don’t regularly play PvP, you will probably never come close to this achievement.
Even if you set yourself the goal of achieving 1,000 honorable kills every day – which would be extremely ambitious – you would have to spend hours upon hours in battlegrounds, and even then, you’d need about 9 months to maintain this goal every day.
What does the achievement bring? The achievement rewards with the title “the Bloodthirsty” and could not be more appropriate. Because with the blood of 250,000 PvP victims, even the greatest San’layn lord would be well taken care of for the rest of his career. If you discover a player with this title, it’s clear: Here’s someone who really enjoys PvP.
Rank 2: 100 Revered Factions
What you need to achieve this success: Once again, the name of the achievement is quite simple to understand. The player must “only” raise 100 reputation factions to exalted status. This is the highest reputation level and is usually associated with a long grind.
Why this is so hard: Reputation factions span the entire world of Warcraft and all expansions currently available. Each expansion has about 8-12 of them – more in some, fewer in others. To earn this achievement, you need to play all types of content across all expansions. This also includes PvP, dungeons, and raids.
Farming reputation can take a long time!
Another difficulty is that there are currently only just over 100 obtainable reputation factions in World of Warcraft. With Shadowlands , the number of reputation factions will increase further, making this achievement easier – the beta is expected to start soon. However, even then, the large number of 100 factions is still an accomplishment that most accounts have a long way to go.
Factions that are “mirrored” do not count, by the way. You can either count the 7th Legion (Alliance) or the Valstorm (Horde) – both at the same time is not possible.
What does the achievement bring? The achievement brings two rewards to brag about. On one hand, there is the title “High Exalted” and on the other, the mount Pureheart. This is a white-blue monocorn that serves as your ground mount and makes a powerful impression.
Rank 1: Phenomenal Cosmic Power
What you need to achieve this success: Many players may not know this achievement at all, as it is a hidden feat of strength. To obtain it, the player must have all essences for the Heart of Azeroth from patch 8.2 for a single role (Healer, Tank, or DPS) at rank 4. These are not only the equipped essences but also all those not actively used.
Why this is so hard: This achievement requires the player to master the most difficult content. While rank 3 of an essence can still be obtained quite easily, rank 4 is merely a cosmetic upgrade and is hence significantly harder to earn. Some essences can be easily obtained at rank 4 through reputation or long farming, but a large part involves hardcore achievements in PvP and PvE. Here are a few examples of what needs to be done:
Level all followers in Nazjatar to level 30
Complete all dungeons on “Mythic+15” within the time
What does the achievement bring? The achievement rewards with the special title “Champion of Azeroth” and is sure to catch the eye. One of the most popular and best players in the League of Legends is Yilang “Doublelift” Peng (26), the bot laner for Team Liquid. He has been a 7-time champion and star of the US LoL league LCS in recent years. But now he has lost his starting position. He admitted to having played for a while without much motivation. Now he is sitting on the bench.
However, 2020 has not been going well so far for reigning champion Team Liquid. The LoL star apparently wanted to comment on this.

Not playing well, not really trying
What did he say? Doublelift admitted in an interview with Inven on February 21 that he had “not been motivated lately.” At that point, his team was at 3-5: That was pretty bad.
He explained in the interview: It was pretty clear that he had not been playing his best LoL lately and he hadn’t really tried.
He apologized to the team for the collateral damage caused by having a player who was neither highly motivated nor in top shape.
Doublelift was apparently frustrated that the current Spring Split of the LCS was not offering any “Circuit Points” that qualify for the World Championship. As a result, the Spring Split 2020 became significantly less important and he became bitter about it.
In the interview, he said he is now motivated and wants to attack.
At the Worlds 2019, things did not go well for Team Liquid.
This was the plan: Doublelift apparently wanted to convey the mood in the interview: He acknowledged his mistake and now the turnaround is coming.
He said he hit rock bottom when they played against “Golden Guardians” and he clearly lost in a 2vs2 against 2 players he believed were much worse than he and his support partner CoreJJ.
That was a wake-up call, and he would now step up. He told himself:
Wow. Am I really capable of dying like that? Of playing like that? That was really confusing for me, so I have to make sure that doesn’t happen to me again.

What went wrong: Doublelift caught an illness after the interview and had to miss a match weekend. For him, the struggling Team Liquid substituted in backup player Tactical as bot laner.
With Tactical, TL won both games that week. They are now at 6-6 and in a significantly better 3rd place with a winning streak of 3 victories in a row.

At 26 years old, Doublelift is already relatively old for a professional League of Legends player. Many pros are considered “seniors” at 23 years old in LoL, thinking about the end of their careers.
Therefore, the career downturn for Doublelift might not only be due to a lack of motivation but could also be age-related.
A leak video for the new Battle Royale mode “Warzone” in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare surfaced some time ago. The creator had to delete it – now it has reappeared, along with all the information.
What kind of leak is this? The YouTuber TheGamingRevolution, known for reliably leaking information about Modern Warfare, published a video on February 13.
Why was the video deleted? The leak was taken down shortly after the video was published. The reason was a copyright violation asserted by Activision Blizzard against the video.
Now the video has reappeared – coincidentally just after the playlist update on March 3, when many players actually expected new information about the Battle Royale.

This is what the video shows: In the leak video, the training mode of Warzone is shown, where the mode and the special resource “Plunder” is explained. Plunder serves as a resource with which players can purchase perks, killstreaks and equipment.

New information includes that there are also weapons in different quality tiers. TheGamingRevolution finds a “legendary Polytope M4A1”. The legendary weapons are apparently better equipped and generally stronger than weapons with other quality tiers. It seems that the stronger weapons are directly equipped with blueprints .
Gameplay of the Battle Royale itself is not yet visible. The YouTuber is solely in the training mode, where the only opponents are metal displays. He has no opposing players.
Why is the video back now? After no official information about Warzone came on March 3, many fans are surprised that the video has reappeared. There are several circumstances that could be the reason:

Speculations about the release of Warzone
When will more info come? Many players were disappointed that no new information about Warzone came on March 3. Now March 10 is under discussion. The two dates have been speculated for a while as the days for an official announcement.
The hype around the BR is currently declining, which is also reflected in the community’s reaction (via reddit). Some players are annoyed that no more information is coming, while others are annoyed that these players are complaining.

Amazon has removed all survival elements from the MMO New World. But why? And does that automatically mean that survival games are no longer in demand? We took a closer look at the current situation.
What happened with New World? Originally, New World was supposed to be a hardcore PvP MMO. Ideas included full loot and survival elements such as hunger and thirst. The latter were not meant to be lethal, but still had an impact on health points and attack speed.
However, in December 2019, Amazon announced the removal of these elements. Even PvP is no longer necessarily required. This means New World is now taking a completely new direction.
But what does this mean for survival games in general? Is the time for these games over when a giant like Amazon turns away from it? Or is the genre still popular?
New World does without survival – Is that a bad sign?
ARK, Rust, and DayZ more in demand than ever
How are the classics of the genre doing? When you think of survival games, most people probably think of games like DayZ and Rust. Both are successful titles that have been running strong for over 7 years.
The game DayZ is also currently experiencing a resurgence. Although it couldn’t surpass the peak of 45,398 players at release in December 2013, in February 2020, there were still 40,545 players topping DayZ.
On average, 17,739 players checked into the survival game daily. The best value since March 2014. DayZ had already hit a real low with only 1,692 average players in October 2018. However, it managed to fight its way back up (Steamcharts).
DayZ is doing really well even 7 years after release
ARK breaks all records: Another survival game on Steam is ARK: Survival Evolved, which has just released the first part of the Genesis DLC.
ARK is currently doing exceptionally well. In the last 30 days, more than 153,000 players peaked in the survival game. This significantly surpassed the previous record of 100,723 players in February 2017.
Besides Fallout 76, for which the Wastelanders update will be released soon, all games can be found on Steam, and thus one can look at the player numbers. None of the games are currently really doing poorly.
Dying Light reached an average of 9,939 players per day in February, achieving its best value since February 2015, when the game was released and peaked at 12,871 players.
Raft achieved an average of 8,008 players in December 2019, marking its second-best month since its release in May 2018.
No Man’s Sky managed to make a comeback at least in August 2019 with the release of Beyond, regaining some players. Additionally, the latest patch with living ships brought players back. February was the sixth-best month since its release in August 2016.

Where can you find the weapon? Many of the new Exotics introduced in Warlords of New York in The Division 2 can basically be found all over the game. They drop randomly, or you discover them in containers. The higher your difficulty setting, the higher the chance to find a new exotic item.
So far, you primarily get Lady Death from the 22 named bosses in New York and also more from faction containers.
As with all Exotics, with Lady Death you primarily need luck. Sometimes the weapon drops quickly, while other times hunting it can become a test of patience.

What are DPS meters? In MMORPGs and other games, DPS or damage meters refer to the tools or features used to calculate the damage that one or other players deal.
DPS is an abbreviation for “Damage per Second”. It measures the damage your character deals to multiple enemies or a boss over a specified period, averaged per second. The value is, of course, better, the larger the number is.
However, DPS meters are controversial in many communities.
Some players consider them useful tools that help them see their performance and improve over time.
Others believe that DPS meters have wrecked communities in MMORPGs because everyone only focuses on performance.

DPS Meters in Different MMORPGs
Here’s how it is in WoW: In World of Warcraft, DPS meters are less controversial. Those who want to master high-level content like “Mythic+” dungeons or heroic raids need a way to evaluate and assess their group members.
DPS meters are also useful for analyzing one’s play style and are largely accepted in the community. They are a tool to identify sources of error in the toughest boss fights – and also a way to slightly inflate one’s ego when looking at the longest bar.
We also use the numbers here to create a current DPS list for WoW’s raid content. This provides an overview of which classes are strong against which bosses, which ones may give a raid better chances, or which class needs improvement.
Here’s how it is in Final Fantasy XIV: In Square Enix’s flagship MMORPG, DPS meters are a taboo subject. The game’s director, Naoki Yoshida, has repeatedly emphasized in recent years that FFXIV will never have an internal DPS meter.
Furthermore, the use of third-party tools that calculate DPS numbers is prohibited by the Terms of Service (link to the list of prohibited activities). Especially griefing other players who deal low DPS is punished with bans. However, this does not change the fact that many players use DPS meters secretly, especially in endgame content.
Here’s how it is in Guild Wars 2: DPS meters are a hot topic in Guild Wars 2. Especially from the raid community, they are repeatedly requested, but casual players fear being kicked from a group due to low damage.
Such a tool is unlikely to ever come from the developers, but a community-developed DPS meter has at least been tolerated, unlike other addons that are strictly prohibited in GW2.

Who is this new Exotic suitable for? Everyone who likes to play offensively can benefit from this new Exotic. However, the new knee pads are likely strongest in combination with LMGs, i.e. with machine guns.
The biggest disadvantage of LMGs is the reload time. Reloading takes forever, but with proper playstyle with the new Exotic, it is completely eliminated, allowing you to use this weapon type much more effectively.
How to get this new Exotic: Currently, it appears that the NinjaBike knee pads can only be found in the Dark Zone. The previously documented finds come exclusively from the Dark Zones in D.C.
You need to return to Washington and loot Dark Zone Supply Drops and/or kill bosses there. These are the two fastest ways to obtain the new knee pads.

Although it will still take a while until the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the hype surrounding Cyberpunk scenarios is in full swing. This also does not stop at Minecraft. In the block game, a user has now recreated an elaborate scene from a bustling city, where at first glance, hardly anyone would guess that it basically comes from Minecraft. But see for yourself:
How was the scene built? The basic structure was first built and created by Deltagon in Minecraft, which alone took many hours – 60 hours over more than two weeks. To make the image look as good as it does in the final work, however, he used a second program – Blender.
In Blender, created scenarios and characters can be rendered again and equipped with better light sources. Otherwise, the dark atmosphere of the shown image would hardly have been achievable.

What kind of place is this? It is a mountain somewhere in Dun Morogh, the starting area of the dwarves. The exact location has not been revealed by the explorers yet. It seems, however, that it is quite hard to reach, as the slopes look quite steep. They probably had to fight through several jumping passages.
The mountain top – or rather the tops – are quite rounded and extremely smooth with a notch right in the middle, like a … butt. Additionally, at the ends of the two buttocks, there are also long extensions that look like legs.
To make matters worse, what is on the other side of the “legs” also resembles a lowered back with a hollow back including a neck and shoulder blades. If a designer didn’t have fun there …
