Many players feel that Destiny 2 has noticeably become harder with Season 11 and are eagerly discussing it on reddit. What exactly is the problem and what are your experiences?
Players are puzzling over: Has Destiny 2 become harder with the current season of Arrival? Or are our Guardians weaker? Have there been secret changes? Or is something bugged? All these questions are currently also on the minds of the Destiny community on reddit.
In a relevant thread with over 8,000 upvotes and more than 1,200 comments (June 29 at 9 a.m., after just over a day), this is being actively debated on the discussion platform. Some players firmly believe that the Destiny experience has indeed become noticeably tougher in recent weeks.
How exactly does this phenomenon manifest? Numerous players report that since the new Season 11, they simply can’t find any ground in many activities – whether in Strikes, Raids, Dungeons, Nightmare hunts, quest missions like Whisper, or even in patrol in the open world.
Sometimes you can no longer just stroll through strikes
Where previously you could stroll through, now you die noticeably often – and this is despite having either the recommended power level or being miles above it. A lot has become noticeably harder. Players feel as if they can sometimes take less damage themselves, and sometimes, that the enemies have become more aggressive and deal more damage.
For example, some players who know the dungeon “The Shattered Throne” inside and out claim that there has definitely been a change in difficulty in the new season. They have trouble even reaching the bosses and are dying in parts where they used to always feel very comfortable.
Even on patrol, some Guardians report being taken down by just a couple of shots from ordinary enemies, which they find unusual.
Even the “throne” is not always an easy stroll even for experts
In short: Many players currently feel as if they are being wiped out in Season 11 – especially in activities where they previously felt unstoppable. Something just doesn’t feel right.
However, there are definitely players who have not noticed any changes or inconsistencies.
Here are my experiences: I, Sven Galitzki, shooter expert at MeinMMO, have had similar experiences, which is why I picked up this topic from reddit.
For me, however, it feels more like this experience varies. Sometimes I also feel like I’m being torn apart by the easiest enemy after just a few hits – in a way that I have not experienced in the game before. The enemies are usually also excessively aggressive and accurate.
Enemies that you usually smile at can now mean death
However, if I do the same activity again at a different time, it can happen that everything feels just like it always does or even the exact opposite. Then I can stand in front of the same enemies, do nothing, and they take what feels like an eternity to even bring my health down to a critical level. Sometimes they even stand there completely indifferent.
I have observed this phenomenon, among other places, in the Lost Sector Core Terminus on Mars, where I traditionally complete many of my bounties or advance catalysts.
So I also feel: something is not right, something has changed with Season 11. But what exactly, I cannot say. Other players on reddit report similar experiences where the power of our Guardians or the enemies varies.
What could the reasons be? No one knows for sure; there are only speculations so far. Bungie itself has not commented on the discussion.
Some assume that there could be issues with the net code or the servers. This would also explain why it occurs for some players and not for others or why it occurs for the same players sometimes and not at other times.
Others think there could be bugs that are triggered under certain conditions. Again, others think it is possible that there have been secret changes to the stats of the enemies or our Guardians – for example, regarding the Guardians’ resilience.
Are our Guardians perhaps not as strong as we think?
Even in Gambit, some Guardians have been complaining for a long time about inconsistencies with the enemy’s strength (beyond the regular changes in the respective rounds). Some believe that this may now have spread to the rest of the game.
How about you? What experiences have you had in Season 11? Have you noticed any significant changes? Is something just not right? Or have you not noticed anything regarding your own survivability and the strength of the enemies? Let us know in the comments.
What happened? In the WoW subreddit, the user unmarked_salt shared some scary screenshots of his Worgen. After a trip through a portal, he didn’t look healthy at all. Instead of having the usual appearance of a fur-wielder, the textures apparently loaded incorrectly.
This resulted in his human appearance being transferred to the Worgen model. However, that looks so terrifying as if someone had skinned a human and then put the skin on the wolf creature as a mask.
How does this bug occur? This bug has existed for years in World of Warcraft and it occurs from time to time.
However, most may not have seen it yet. It usually happens when a character’s texture has not fully loaded yet and is then already being altered – either by a spell, a mask, or something similar. Then World of Warcraft sometimes fails to load the textures correctly or overlaps multiple textures.
Especially weaker PCs can experience this. The result is scary images, as you can see above.
The age limit for World of Warcraft is likely to quickly rise from 12 to 16 – it’s scary enough for that.
MMOs are often games with huge scope. For newcomers to the genre, it can be intimidating to dive into a new MMO. Here are 9 tips to help you take your first steps.
Have you ever looked at an MMO and thought: “Hey, that actually looks fun… but it’s such a big game. I’ve never played an MMO before.”? No panic, fresh from the editorial team of MeinMMO, we have 9 tips for MMO beginners.
These tips are generally applicable and you can use them not only for classic MMORPGs but also for shooters or survival games.
Choose your MMO
Sounds logical, right? There are countless MMOs available today. They come in various colors and shapes and focus on different gameplay elements.
It’s important to think ahead about what you expect from an MMO and what criteria it should meet for you.
Which MMO genre appeals to you? (MMORPG, multiplayer shooter, survival games)
Are you more of a PvP or a PvE player?
Do you prefer playing alone or do you enjoy playing with other players?
Do you like classic fantasy, sci-fi, or another setting?
There’s nothing wrong with spontaneously choosing an MMO and diving right in. But it will surely save you some disappointment if you think ahead about what you expect from the game. For that, for example, our article on the best MMOs can help you.
When I choose a new MMO, I probably first act like a totally normal player: The trailer looks amazing? I need to learn more about the game.
It’s important to me that there are both PvP and PvE content. After all, it’s also important to me that progress can be made as a solo player, not just in groups.
Patrick Freese, editor at MeinMMO
In our top lists, you’ll find MMOs that you will enjoy:
Okay, now you’ve chosen an MMO that sounds fun. But before you start it and begin to get really into it, take a look around in the communities. In our digital age, there are many places where players can connect outside the games. Parade examples are:
Official forums of the MMO
reddit
Facebook groups and other social media
Fan pages
There you can search for a guild or clan to jump directly into the game. If you don’t want to commit yet, you can also just ask someone to show you the important things in the game.
And if you happen to find the right people, the first steps in an MMO will be much more fun than being completely alone.
It can be really hard to approach new people. You imagine all sorts of versions in your head of how it could go wrong. I can tell you from experience: Yes, it goes wrong. But it also works. I have randomly met the coolest people online. So go ahead.
But that shouldn’t stop you from communicating with other players. Especially if you are completely new to the MMO. Is your group wiped in a dungeon and you don’t understand why that happened? Ask!
Even if you will encounter rude and annoyed responses to your questions, there will still be people who will help you out. It’s better to ask a question once than to wipe multiple times for the same reason.
For me, communication is the most important thing in an MMO. You have to play together if you want to be successful. Those who are stronger should help the beginners, and those who have been around for less time should stick to the experienced players.
Noah Struthoff, editor at MeinMMO
Don’t Rely on Carrying
It’s a good idea to ask for help when you need it, but you should not completely let your fellow players carry you in an MMO. Especially at the beginning, when you’re new, you learn many important fundamentals of online games.
Experience the MMO in your own way, play at your own pace. If you allow yourself to be carried around in an MMORPG and everything is handed to you, you will miss out on a large part of the experience. After all, games are about actively playing and progressing.
A particularly bad idea is begging experienced players for money and other resources. It comes across as lazy, and you won’t make friends in the game this way. It’s best to avoid it altogether.
Don’t let friends or fellow players carry you just to reach the endgame as quickly as possible. You often miss important steps, mechanics, or events, which could come back to haunt you later. After all, there’s hardly anything more embarrassing than failing with a max-level character as a member of a group because you were pushed and therefore don’t understand the basics of the game.

Program Overview
Stay informed with Find Your Next Game: All info, dates, and what to expect from us in the coming days and weeks can be found in our program schedule.
A large part of modern MMOs has been running for many years; some are approaching their second decade. Accordingly, the amount of content and information thrown at new players upon entry is vast. Even so-called “simple” MMORPGs like WoW can be overwhelming.
Therefore, it’s important to take your time and work your way through the game at a leisurely pace.
Look around carefully in the areas and on maps
Check out what options there are to upgrade your character
Find out where to prioritize initially
It’s very tempting to hit the gas right at the start and quickly end up in the endgame with the cool kids. But that carries the risk of missing many important fundamentals along the way. So don’t get stressed, the endgame isn’t going anywhere.
Play at your own pace and in a way that you enjoy. Don’t let experienced players influence you and don’t make comparisons. You will eventually master the game too, but take your time and enjoy the journey to get there.
Eilyn Rapp, freelance author at MeinMMO
Try Different Things
Even if MMOs can seem intimidating with their plethora of content, it’s still important to test as much of it as possible. Large multiplayer games offer gamers many different gameplay options, and you shouldn’t stick to just one.
Even if your first choice of classes or weapons appeals to you right away, you might find something even better that you enjoy more. But that won’t happen if you limit yourself to one thing.
You should take your time while trying things out. Deal with the new system, whether it’s class or weapon, and in the end, decide what you enjoy the most.
When I start a new MMO – and this is often the case for me just for my job – I reserve at least an entire gaming session for trying things out. I start with one class, play a bit. Then I log out and start with another class or weapon type from scratch and see what works differently. Until I find what fits my play style.
Jürgen Horn, editor at MeinMMO
If you enjoy testing gameplay mechanics, we have the right MMOs for you:
Especially when you’re completely new to a game, you have difficulty recognizing which aspects are important and which are not. It’s a good idea at least at the beginning to keep all the junk you pick up along the way.
Perhaps among the things that all look like junk, there’s a valuable item that you can sell for good money. Or there are materials that will help you later with crafting.
But that doesn’t mean you should hold on to stuff forever. Take some time at the end of your gaming session to sort your inventory and dispose of useless items. This will save you grief over lost valuable items now and then.
I always hoard a lot of items in MMOs or RPGs before I know exactly what I can do with them. This has two advantages:
First, I often have enough items or money for important things. And second, this prevents me from relying too much on healing items and makes me stronger.
Be frugal and find a good balance between collecting and hoarding.
Maik Schneider, freelance author at MeinMMO
Don’t Get Frustrated
Compared to many single-player games, entering MMOs is more often accompanied by frustration.
If it’s a PvP-based multiplayer game, you have to expect to face losses at first.
In PvE-based MMOs, there will be deaths and wipes in dungeons.
Moreover, there is often a rough tone in the chat, and your fellow players are not exactly angels. Instead of helping or trying to work together, they flame and create even more frustration.
But don’t let that discourage you. What matters is that you enjoy the game itself. The defeats and wipes will become fewer the longer you engage with the MMO and the more experience you gather. And a cool guild or clan can help against terrible players.
Everyone knows the raging players, the know-it-alls or the “your mom” word acrobats – If I’m confronted, I respond to the angry one extra politely. Often, this throws them off, and I’ve heard the occasional apology afterward. If not, there’s always the chance they explode completely, and then you have a laugh.
Philipp Hansen, freelance author at MeinMMO
Don’t Follow Too Many Tips
What now? You’ve read through an article full of tips and now you shouldn’t follow them suddenly? Yes, it sounds like we’re contradicting ourselves, but that’s not the case.
This is about detailed guides and walkthroughs. They are helpful and were created with the aim of supporting newcomers in the game, but they also take away some of the sense of exploration that comes with MMOs. MeinMMO author Irina Moritz discovered this in Lost Ark.
Get informed about important basics, then set out on an exploration journey through the game. Let yourself be surprised and learn things by yourself. That’s what the gaming experience is all about.
Don’t ruin the game for yourself by making too many preparations. Sure, there’s a guide or optimized approaches to every mechanic and every side activity. However, many MMORPGs only reveal their full enjoyment when you don’t get all the details spoon-fed to you. Take the time to discover things yourself, and only when that no longer brings joy, look for guides and tips.
The Pokémon GO Festival is coming next month, and the images of the event already provide interesting insights. We will tell you what is known so far about the spawns.
Here is what it’s about: Which Pokémon will appear at the GO Fest is mostly a secret. In our interview with Niantic, the developers revealed that the images for the event should give interesting insights into the spawns.
MeinMMO presents all the Pokémon that have been featured in the images so far and looks into the possible theories behind their appearance at the GO Fest.
The Images of the GO Fest and Their Pokémon
How many images are there? Currently, there are 2 real images for the GO Fest. However, there are also more images circulating that could be related to the GO Fest.
The First Official Image for the GO Fest
This is the image in question: This image introduced the GO Fest at Home. It shows a garden and a total of 5 Pokémon:
Pikachu: This Pokémon is sure to make an appearance at the GO Fest. It has been the case in previous years as well. Additionally, Pikachu will also appear with special outfits during the three-week event marathon leading up to the GO Fest.
We will probably also meet Pikachu with a special hat at the GO Fest.
Myrapla: This Grass-type Pokémon is already available in its Shiny version in the game. It would fit perfectly if this monster also appears at the GO Fest.
There will be an increased Shiny rate, and anyone who does not yet have a Myrapla will get their chance there.
Pummeluff: This Pokémon is already available as Shiny, but only through the evolution of Shiny Fluffeluff. In the wild, it cannot be caught as Shiny yet.
At the GO Fest, however, that could change. For the first time, Shiny Pummeluff might appear in the wild as well.
Alolan Exeggutor: This Pokémon fits well with the GO Fest. Currently, it is only obtainable from raids, and it could well show up at the GO Fest. It can also be Shiny – so it would fit.
Kinoso: This Pokémon raises the most questions. Kinoso cannot yet be Shiny. Additionally, it evolves from Kigugi, which only appears from eggs or incense. Whether Kinoso can be caught as Shiny upon evolution remains questionable.
It could very well be that Kinoso is introduced into the game as a new Shiny. After all, it is otherwise quite useless and consumes many balls – not very beneficial for the GO Fest.
The Second Official Image for the GO Fest
This is the image in question: The second image was released when the details about the GO Fest were announced. It shows 10 Pokémon that will likely play a role in the GO Fest:
These Pokémon are known from the first image: With Pikachu and Alolan Exeggutor, there are 2 monsters that are already seen in the first image.
Unown: This Pokémon is one of the faces of the GO Fest. The otherwise rare monster regularly appears at live events, and the different letters always spell a word.
In the picture, you can see a “G”. This could stand for “GO Fest”. However, another word is also possible.
Eevee: Next to Pikachu, Eevee is probably the most well-known Pokémon in the game. Last year, it was also seen at the GO Fest. There, it wore a flower crown.
A similar event-Eevee could be expected this year as well.
Hooho: This otherwise rare Pokémon is sure to please many players. Hooho belongs to the rarest Pokémon in the game and can also be Shiny.
It is very likely that Hooho will be found at the GO Fest. The Shiny form will certainly be highly sought after by trainers.
Sengo and Vipitis: The two regional Pokémon have already been confirmed by Niantic for the GO Fest. We German players can expect Vipitis as a regional Pokémon.
Both monsters can also be Shiny. So one can hope to catch the regional Pokémon there in their shiny version as well.
Charizard: There are several speculations about this. Charizard is one of the Pokémon that also has a Mega Evolution. These special evolutions were announced recently – possibly, we will see a Mega Charizard at the GO Fest.
Moreover, Niantic revealed that remote raids will play a significant role. Perhaps you will also find a Charizard there and be able to battle it.
Alternatively, one could also expect Shiny Snorlax. That would be a real hit and would fit well with the GO Fest.
Lanturn: Shiny Lanturn was introduced with the Safari Zone in April. It is entirely plausible that it will therefore appear more frequently at the GO Fest.
This is what the upcoming event reveals: In July, you need to complete various special research tasks for 3 weeks. If enough trainers complete the research, the following Pokémon will be available at the GO Fest:
Palimpalim
Mamolida
Chansey
Kastadur
Alolan Sleima
Alolan Marowak
Togetic
Dratini
Lichtel
The events leading up to the GO Fest could bring additional spawns for the event.
What about Team Rocket? The GO Fest will likely also bring a new feature related to Team Rocket. If you take a closer look at the images for the GO Fest, you can see a small hot air balloon from Team GO Rocket.
You should keep in mind: Currently, only a few Pokémon mentioned here are confirmed. However, all of them are part of the images or tasks from Niantic. So one can reasonably expect to find them at the GO Fest.
When is the GO Fest? The big live event takes place on July 25 and 26. However, you can only participate if you purchase a ticket.
Blizzard removed two NPCs from WoW that were meant to honor the streamer “Swifty.” This happened after allegations arose against him that he had behaved inappropriately in a relationship. This has now been criticized. Twitch streamer Asmongold says Blizzard acted hastily here and made the situation worse.
Which NPCs were removed from WoW? There are actually 2 NPCs:
a young Pandaren, Swifty, in the Shrine of Seven Stars in Pandaria
Alliance Captain John Swifty in Ashran
Both NPCs were removed on June 22 by a hotfix from Blizzard. However, these were apparently undocumented changes that did not appear in the patch notes but were registered by sites like wowhead.
The NPCs were placed in WoW in honor of the WoW streamer Swifty by Blizzard (607,804 followers).

Twitch Streamer Accuses Swifty – Blizzard Deletes His NPCs
Here’s the context: On June 22, Twitch streamer Takarita (48,668 followers) made allegations against Swifty, claiming he had been sexually aggressive towards her. Takarita was previously in a relationship with Swifty and is now separated from him.
Swifty reportedly wanted her to engage in a threesome or sexual acts with third parties – with various men and women. She resisted this suggestion. Swifty, however, demanded it from her vehemently. The relationship broke down over this, Takarita recounts.
In one episode, Swifty allegedly tried to convince her to have sex with one of his friends. Takarita refused but ultimately allowed herself to be blindfolded: A man had sex with her, whom she thought was Swifty. However, it turned out to be his friend, with whom she had expressly not wanted to have sex.
Takarita then describes that Swifty treated her poorly and how that affected their relationship and her life. The streamer describes a relationship she found hard to escape from because she was, according to her account, emotionally and financially dependent on Swifty.
Apparently, Blizzard removed the NPCs from WoW immediately after this story became known.
Four years ago, Swifty shared a picture on Instagram showing him with Takarita:
Like Takarita, several women have spoken out in recent days, making allegations against male Twitch streamers who have allegedly sexually harassed them.
This is how Swifty responds: He denies the allegations. In a statement from June 25, he says the allegations are false.
These allegations are against all his values, completely against his nature. He has never behaved like this. He does not want to say anything more about it.
Other members of the WoW community are also supporting Swifty. Streamer Mia Rose (83,737 followers) defends her friend and says Takarita has a drinking problem. She is the one behaving sexually aggressively, not Swifty. He is a gentleman.

He sharply criticizes Blizzard for their reaction in removing the two NPCs from WoW.
Asmongold finds this reaction hasty. Blizzard seems to have acted on the principle of “Shoot first, ask questions later.” This is action purely based on suspicion (via YouTube).
The WoW streamer Asmongold wishes for more patience from Blizzard.
Blizzard makes things worse by removing the NPCs and causing a presumption of guilt. One needs to talk about such things and give Swifty the chance to defend himself.
Asmongold says he doesn’t like the idea that people or companies immediately pull away from someone when such allegations arise. There is no investigation, one isn’t asked, one is simply thrown out.
According to Asmongold, he would sue every woman who spreads such false rumors about him and demand that they be banned from the platform. False accusations harm the cause; they harm women and men.
Even though he has heard that Swifty is innocent, he does not want to make a judgment and calls for an investigation before any consequences are drawn.
The streamer Asmongold often clashes with Blizzard. There was a great scene when Asmongold was in areas of Shadowlands with a group of players where he had no business being:
The PS4 and the Dualshock 4 have a few great features. However, very few games make use of features like the touchpad. There are other properties that are also rarely used. Some fans even believe that the features of the PS5 could suffer the same fate.
The Dualshock 4 is the official controller of the PlayStation 4 and has some cool functions. On reddit, players are currently discussing the functions of the PlayStation 4 and the features of the PlayStation 5.
Many fans agree that especially two features of the PlayStation 4 are used far too rarely. We will introduce you to the two features that players miss in many games.
Rarely used on PS4: the touchpad of the Dualshock 4
The touchpad was one of the newest features that the PS4 controller received from the Dualshock 3 to the Dualshock 4. Nowadays, you can even play games like CoD Mobile with the controller. The special thing about the touchpad: It responds to touches by fingers or by pressing the pad.
The touchpad is rarely used correctly: However, very few games really or sensibly use the feature. Our colleagues from GamePro explain that Days Gone had a few cool possibilities: Depending on where you pressed the touchpad, the inventory, map, or abilities opened up.
In most games, however, the touchpad is simply “simplified”: Most of the time, it only opens the menus or the minimap, but the actual touch feature often plays no significant role.
By the way, one player had his PS4 controller break. He came up with something particularly creative to honor his broken controller properly:
The motion sensor is another feature of the Dualshock 4 that is rarely used. This sensor detects how you hold the controller, whether you tilt or move it.
Few exclusive titles like Concrete Genie utilize the motion sensor: Here, you paint artworks on the walls of the player city using the movements of the controller.
What function do players wish for? This is related to a function that many players wish for on reddit: the so-called gyro aiming. This involves the ability to aim particularly accurately in combination with the thumbstick and sensor.
For example, User InsanityEx writes about gyro aiming: “Gyro support for shooters would be fantastic! Thanks to gyro, I’ve really enjoyed shooters on the Switch, and that’s something I hope developers will support on the PS5. Many people might say it’s a gimmick, but there’s a reason why many Switch owners demand this in games.”
And another user writes: “Damn right. The only game I know on PS4 that uses gyro aiming is Paladins. That’s already a reason why I play regularly. I aim in this game much better than in any other FPS on PS4.”
Switch uses Sony’s Dualshock features: Some also take the Switch as an example: In Breath of the Wild, you could aim with the bow using the motion sensor. In Horizon Zero Dawn, this was not possible on the PlayStation 4. Many wonder why Sony does not use the existing features.
Games like Concrete Genie use the motion sensor: This allowed you to paint artworks on the wall using the sensor. Requires some getting used to, but well done.
Players hope: Sony implements features on the PS5 as well
Many hope that Sony will actively use the old features and the new features on the PS5. Many mention Days Gone or The Last of Us Part II as examples, where a few features were used. But those are games that come at the very end of the generation. For example, reddittomarcato writes:
I wholeheartedly agree. The thought that it took until Days Gone and TLOU2, both end-of-cycle games, to implement touchpad menus and shake in a fun, easy way is insane. Hopefully, they are looking at these first-party publishers for ideas for the PS5.
What players fear: There are also fears. Because if the features are hardly used by Sony’s own developers, then other developers will have no interest either.
The thread starter Loldimorti 1 explains in his post: “I want Sony to double down on all these functions and the new features they added with the PS5. If after one or two years not even first-party games support these [features], why would third-party developers bother?”
Besides the Dualshock 4, the PS5 Dualsense controller offers many exciting functions like adaptive triggers or again a touchpad.
Games like Days Gone or The Last of Us Part 2 utilize the features of the Dualshocks 4.
Not only is the Dualshock 4 a good controller for the PlayStation 4. In our article, we present the best PS4 controllers of 2020 and explain which controllers are worth it for which players. Of course, the Dualshock 4 is included.

In the clip, a player approaches an opponent and executes the execution animation. However, during the animation, a teammate steals the kill, interrupting the animation.
The kill thief knows exactly what he has done and punishes himself. He throws a thermite grenade right at his feet and eliminates himself with it.
The robbed teammate simply nods in thanks and continues playing.
How do teammates react to this? The kill thief is celebrated by viewers. The top comment on the clip simply says “Respect,” and many other viewers are also amazed by this act.
Other players also wish for such teammates: “My execution animations are always interrupted, and my teammates just run away as if nothing is wrong.”
Are there more such clips? There are always spectacular shots in the shooter. Recently, a player caused a stir with a crazy drum solo, receiving cheers from over 40,000 players.
Additionally, a player scored a double kill because his opponent had total tunnel vision and simply didn’t see him, even though he was right in front of his nose. Viewers were left wondering “Where was that guy looking?” The appropriate clip caused confused viewers and thousands of upvotes on reddit.

The streamer Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm is one of the top 10 streamers on Twitch. He has an exclusive contract and is considered a star of the platform. Nevertheless, his channel was surprisingly banned. Now he is speaking out about his ban. We also present 4 theories as to why Dr Disrespect was banned by Twitch.
This is what Dr Disrespect says about his ban:
Champions Club,
Twitch did not inform me about the specific reason behind their decision. A firm handshake to everyone for their support during this difficult time.

What is remarkable about the statement: Two things stand out:
On the one hand, it took more than 30 hours for this statement from Dr Disrespect to come out at all. Usually, it is expected that a streamer immediately informs their fans about what is happening with their channel when they get banned
On the other hand, Dr Disrespect says Twitch did not communicate the “specific reason.” This probably means that Twitch gave him – as is usual – a higher-level reason. Usually, streamers who are banned post the ban message from Twitch, which at least states this general reason. In this case, Dr Disrespect does not do that
Did Dr Disrespect know he was getting banned? There are at least hints that suggest so.
Dr Disrespect was probably not caught off guard by the ban. As some have noted, the end of Dr Disrespect’s last stream was conspicuous. Towards the end of the stream, he seemed to read a message on his phone that somehow impressed him and affected his mood.
He then ended the stream a few minutes later on a strange note, mentioning that one must “get through it” and that these are “strange times”.
This could have been understood to mean that he might have read the latest corona news, but after the ban, his behavior seems different.

What rumors and theories exist about the ban? No one knows for sure at the moment why Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch. At least no one who wants to speak publicly about it. There are some very dark possible reasons and others that are rather harmless.
That would be quite a piece. Twitch could lose some of its credibility with that.
Did Dr Disrespect really team up with the two?
Business Decision: Another very wild rumor comes from 4chan. It states that Dr Disrespect teamed up with shroud and Ninja to build a new streaming platform for Spotify. Ninja and shroud are free after the end of Mixer. Dr Disrespect then wanted to poach streamers, and Twitch found out and reacted.
Serious Offense: The dark theory is that Dr Disrespect did something “so bad” that no one wants to talk publicly about it and that the ban occurred in the context of the current discussion about sexual harassment. Something may have been communicated to Twitch “in the last few days” that left them no choice.
That would be very serious. This theory is supported by a tweet from streamer Shannon “ShannonZkiller” Planete, which was later deleted.
Past Sins: Some also suspect that Twitch is now cracking down due to “past sins.” For example, Dr Disrespect once streamed from a bathroom at E3 2019. The under pressure Twitch CEO, Emmet Shear, may have then set an example.
It seems rather unlikely that Twitch wants to make an example out of Dr Disrespect right now.
At the moment, it remains completely unclear what exactly happened.
The upcoming crazy MMORPG Corepunk reminds us of many genres and styles. It happily mixes fantasy, cyberpunk, and post-apocalypse. However, the developers have also devised some curious peculiarities in gameplay and have used League of Legends (LoL) as a reference. MeinMMO editor Jürgen Horn spoke with Game Producer Eugene Kiver in an interview and introduces you to the special features of Corepunk.
According to the developers, Corepunk is a “Top-Down MMORPG in an open world with ‘Fog of War’.” At first glance, the game seems like a mix of the colorful graphics and punky sci-fi fantasy setting of the deceased MMORPG WildStar with the gameplay of a MOBA like League of Legends (LoL).
The game comes from the Dutch studio Artificial Core based in Amsterdam and is also being developed in the Ukrainian city of Kyiv. The versatile Unity Engine is being used.
Corepunk has been in development for over 5 years and is scheduled to be released as a Buy2Play title in 2021. Additionally, there will be cosmetic items that do not provide gameplay advantages.

Here you can see the new gameplay video lasting 15 minutes, revealed by IGN and well-received by viewers. It includes the flow of a quest.
How is Corepunk received? The crazy genre mix seems to have struck a chord with the target audience. The recently released 15-minute gameplay reveal video has already achieved over 125,000 views (as of June 27, 2020). There were many comments showing positive interest in the game, and the likes clearly outweighed the dislikes.
But what is in this curious game, which connects several genres and takes in just about every “punk” style? What is Corepunk supposed to be, and who is the target audience?
MeinMMO has compiled all the available information on Corepunk for you and conducted an exclusive interview with Producer Eugene Kiver to get more concrete information about the new MMORPG.
Eugene Kiver, Producer
Corepunk – What is it supposed to be?
What does Corepunk offer? In Corepunk, you play as a hero in a bizarre world that is a mix of fantasy, post-apocalypse, and cyberpunk sci-fi. At first glance, the game looks like if you had crossed the crazy MMORPG WildStar with LoL. Instead of securing lanes and jungles and tactically fighting defense towers, you do quests and open-PvP.
The gameplay with a mix of skill shots and AoE with auto-attacks reminds of LoL.
What is the gameplay of Corepunk like? This comparison to MOBA and MMORPG gameplay is fundamentally accurate. In Corepunk, you have gameplay that resembles classic MMORPGs like WoW. You use tab-targeting for your normal attacks and some skills, not action-combat. That means you select a target and your actions hit automatically.
However, there are also “skill shots” and AoE skills known from League of Legends and others. You must aim them manually, allowing you—depending on your skill—to land particularly devastating attacks right in the enemy horde.
The gameplay appears rather relaxed and almost slow in the currently available videos. This is intentional, according to the developers, who say you will receive items and attributes later that will allow you to run and hit significantly faster if you wish.

When does the beta start? Although the Corona crisis caused problems for Artificial Core, they seem to have a handle on the situation and have recently returned to the studio. Therefore, Eugene sees the start of a closed beta at the end of 2020 as not being in jeopardy.
When I asked him whether he meant the year-end dates of “September” or rather “Christmas,” Eugene smilingly replied clearly, “Expect more Christmas.” However, if everything goes according to plan and no further disasters occur, an open beta might even be possible by the end of the year.
The release version is still planned for 2021. On the official Corepunk site, you can register for the beta.
Corepunk mixes different styles, for example, fantasy and cyberpunk.
On which platforms will Corepunk be available? Initially, Corepunk will be released solely for PC. However, Eugene had pleasant news for us here. The long-term goal after the launch also includes the start on the consoles PlayStation and Xbox, possibly even on the new versions PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Open PvP, Fog of War, Endgame and Class Diversity – These are the Features of Corepunk
What is the key unique feature of Corepunk? As a significant point, Eugene first mentioned the top-down view and the “Fog of War”. So, a “fog of war” known from strategy games that covers the game world that your character cannot see. This would provide a special thrill:
The top-down view and the “Fog of War” is the important unique feature. This is essential for our gaming experience. This way, you never know what awaits around the next corner. That is what creates the tension; you may encounter something dangerous at any time.
An example: You and your group encounter another group in the open world. They are targeting the same open-world boss as you. Anything could happen. They might help you, but they could also attack you; we have open-world PvP.
That creates the tension. If you have a teleport ability- you can obtain that via artifacts if you don’t have a skill for it- you can quickly find a hideout and conceal yourself from opponents. That’s an important feature. In a game where you see everything, that’s not so easy.
This also applies to exploring the game world. Since you never know what awaits you around the next bend, exploring the game world is particularly enjoyable and is one of the main motivational points in Corepunk.
Here you see the fog of war in the game. You only see what’s hidden up there when you approach.
Also cool: If a player finds something exciting, he can quickly inform his teammates via a ping system. Additionally, there is a dynamic day/night cycle. This enhances the atmosphere while exploring even more.
However, in two aspects, the tasks differ from the majority of other MMORPGs. Your hero does not just silently acknowledge the tasks of NPCs. He or she has a voice and speaks when you click an option in the dialogue menu. This creates a much denser atmosphere and identification with the character.
In some quests, you also have the choice of what you want to do. For example, you might be tasked with collecting spare parts in a junkyard to repair the table-dancing sex-bot in a shabby bar. However, scattered soldiers have taken up residence in the scrapyard. Their commander demands that you bring him more parts; otherwise, he will open fire. It’s up to you which path you choose.
In the gameplay video, the heroes refuse this, leading to a brutal boss fight that the two players just barely win, making the soldiers enemies in the future. So, those who enjoyed this type of quest in story MMORPGs like SWTOR or ESO will likely find here what they are looking for.

Heroes or Classes? How Much RPG Exists in Corepunk
What classes can you play? Anyone who sees the first videos of Corepunk quickly notices that the “classes” in the game seem more like predefined heroes in a MOBA. They are also called heroes and include armored orcs, paladins, swordsmen, and delicate girls with cat ears and explosives.
So, can you only play the predefined types like the orc “Ironclad” or the spirited “Bombergirl”? Fortunately, Eugene reassures:
You can customize quite a bit with a hero, such as gender. And you can customize your appearance. That is essential for an MMO, as well as for action RPG players. Each hero has three weapon specialties, so three weapons that can be used with this hero. And this mastery defines your class. Each hero can embody three classes.
In our gameplay trailer, there are two characters in a group. It is the same hero! The male hero is skilled in melee combat with swords, and the other is female and set up as an archer.
So, if you want to play as “Bomberboy” instead of “Bombergirl” and do it with entirely different weapons, it seems you can do that in Corepunk without any issues.
Here you can see the variety of customization options. Each hero can be male or female.
What class roles are there? The classes in Corepunk can be diverse in both appearance and playstyle. Each “hero” can embody three different classes, each with up to 14 skills. But what about roles? Does Corepunk rely on the “holy trinity of MMORPGs,” which consists of tank, healer, and DPS class?
Eugene confirmed this but added that there is also a “support” role. Wait, I thought: Isn’t support basically the healer?
Yes, not only that. In short, support can heal you. But support can also hold and hinder enemies. Or help players by making unreachable places accessible. The support class is actually more responsible for control.
This is how PvP works in Corepunk
What does the PvP look like? After talking about PvP multiple times, I asked Eugene about it as well. He revealed that there are PvP instances known from other MMORPGs, such as arenas and battlegrounds. But a core aspect of the game is open PvP with guild wars, which is optional. Nonetheless, the developer clearly recommends it. However, there are sanctions against arbitrary ganking, which means the targeted slaughtering of mostly defenseless low-level players:
If you gank weaker players, you will receive negative karma points. Then anyone can kill you without facing a penalty. And if you are killed, the chance that you can lose items and artifacts you are carrying increases.
This is an incentive for other players to kill you if you are a ganker. And as a ganker, you won’t gain anything from it, except perhaps the satisfaction of having killed weak opponents. If you gank low-level players, you will find it hard to continue enjoying the game.
Additionally, he told me an anecdote about how he once received special items as a founder in Albion Online. However, he never used them because he was afraid of losing them in open PvP. Therefore, righteous players in PvP in Corepunk should be able to keep their items if they are defeated.
With the right skills, any hero is powerful in PvP.
What are the benefits of guild wars? Eugene mentioned to me that there would be wars between guilds in the open world. You could kill each other without penalty and without losing karma. But what benefit does that bring, apart from the sheer fun of beating other players?
We have a territory control mechanic in the game. If a guild controls territories, they can collect taxes from there. So if you beat and drive out the other guild, you can take over their territory.
Then there are the taxes mentioned, but you can also farm and gather resources better. For example, there is a legendary sword from a specific boss in a territory. If you own the area, it drops for you faster.
Critical Question: Endgame – Big Addons Like World of Warcraft in Planning
How quickly do you reach the endgame? In almost every MMORPG, the question of the endgame is essential. After all, the coolest content usually comes after you have leveled up your hero and Corepunk aims to impress strongly with these endgame contents. However, the air is often thin at the endgame in many MMORPGs, and there is little to do. Here, Corepunk aims to do things differently:
Our players, especially experienced ones, will quickly reach the endgame level cap. However, you will still be able to experience the story at your own pace; you just get into the endgame quickly, and most of the game is positioned at this level. We’ve split it 40/60. So, 60 percent of the world is high-end content.
Corepunk aims to offer you much new content in the future.
This is what the future looks like: So Corepunk wants to quickly get you into the endgame and then really kick off. But how do the developers envision the future of the game? After all, many ambitious MMORPGs have already failed precisely due to content supply. How does Corepunk plan to prevent such a fate?
Yes, we have a lot planned that we won’t get to include fully in the beta. We will bring addons, new continents in the world, more heroes, and more stories. Basically, something like the new addon Shadowlands for World of Warcraft. A completely new story, new areas, and everything.
We already have a pretty deep world with our current content. But we know how MMO players are. We are like that; we always want new content from time to time. We are aware of that.
We really want to build a long-term, sustainable MMO that players can still play for years. I often think about that. So I don’t think that content supply will be a problem. We will do what we can to make that happen.
At least Eugene seems to be a hardcore MMORPG fan who knows very well what it takes for long-term development. Let’s hope he and his team can meet the challenge.
What does “Corepunk” actually mean? The Story Behind the Title In our interview with Producer Eugene Kiver, questions also arose regarding the bizarre graphic style of the game. He shared a history of the punk genres:
“Our style has been this way from the beginning. We all like these styles. We like fantasy, or ‘Manapunk.’ Then we like the style of Mad Max, which brought in the post-apocalyptic style, so ‘Dieselpunk.’ And we love steampunk! When we started the game, there were hardly any steampunk games. This is why we wanted it as well. And cyberpunk! Who does not like cyberpunk? Therefore we included all of this.”
I then asked if that was the reason for the name of the game, so to speak, Corepunk as the core (Core) of all “punkiness”? Eugene laughed and immediately replied:
“Yes, you could say that. And ‘Core’ is also the name of the company, Artificial Core. And the concept of a core is also deeply rooted in the lore. The core of the world in the game is a kind of ‘cradle of life.’ This exploded after certain events in the past. And then portals appeared everywhere that brought artifacts and things back to the core.”
Is it worth waiting for Corepunk?
Who should play Corepunk? When asked about the target audience, Eugene mentioned three types of players who might want to look at the beta at the end of 2020:
Our target audience consists of fans of MMORPGs, such as World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, Lineage 2, and Final Fantasy XIV. So full-fledged MMORPGs. And then action RPG players will probably also feel comfortable with us, especially at higher levels.
We then have 14 abilities and an increased pace in combat. However, it is also quite tactical; it isn’t an action RPG where you slaughter large hordes of enemies, but it is still an intense experience.
And then MOBA players should have fun here too, especially those who enjoy delving deeper into their character and like to explore the world.
If you are looking for a new, unusual MMORPG with a quirky style and a lot of class diversity, as well as open PvP, you should mark the time around Christmas 2020 in your calendar.
Pro
Beautiful comic graphics
Mix of action combat and tab-targeting
Diverse, quirky classes
Open, fair PvP
Fully voiced quests with options
Contra
Game pace might be too slow
Weird play style that may not appeal to everyone
Will the content be sufficient for the long term endgame?
Possibly the hidden gem of 2021
I must admit that until the assignment to write a special on Corepunk, I had no great knowledge of the game. However, the more I researched and especially after the very pleasant conversation with Eugene Kiver, I was fired up for the game.
Because Corepunk offers a lot of what I liked immediately:
Diverse classes with multitudes of customization options
PvP is optional and especially fair; ganking is heavily punished
The play style is quirky and colorful and seems to place great value on humor
Exploring the game world should become even more exciting with the fog of war
That I can overlook the fact that the combat system still partly utilizes the tab-targeting I detest, and that the game pace comes across as rather slow. At least in the endgame, this should be changeable.
Now I just hope that Eugene fulfills his promise and really delivers as much content for the future of the endgame as he assured me in the interview. If everything goes as planned, Corepunk could be a real hidden gem for fans of rather unusual MMORPGs.
Jürgen Horn Editor at Mein-MMO
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
In Destiny 2, the return of one of the most popular Exotics is imminent. MeinMMO assumes that all Hand Cannon lovers will have reason to rejoice this fall.
This popular Exotic is coming back: Because viewers donated so generously during a charity stream, Bungie revealed that Hawkmoon will return. In Fall 2020, with the large expansion “Beyond Light“, one of the most popular Exotic Hand Cannons will make its Destiny 2 debut.
Normally, many Guardians are quite critical of revamped content from the original, but the sight of their baby Hawkmoon (Hawkmoon) mostly sparked euphoria.
But in what form could the elegant revolver be revamped, and why do we assume that all Hand Cannon lovers will soon have a reason to celebrate?
Why players can soon look forward to the iconic “Vault of Glass” raid in a new guise, you can read here:
In what form will Hawkmoon come to Destiny 2? Originally, Hawkmoon relied on a decent amount of luck. 3 random bullets in the magazine dealt bonus damage – accompanied by a unmistakable sound (via YouTube). In the early days, luck treated players a bit too well and allowed for incredible damage.
Destiny boss Luke Smith has already confirmed that Hawkmoon will also rely on the characteristic luck mechanic in Destiny 2. However, they want to go in a different direction than random damage.
The so-called Trinity of Hand Cannons: Dorn, Hawkmoon and Last Word
At this point, we do not know what the Exotic will look like in its revised form. However, considering other returnees, we can assume that the character of the weapon will be preserved but will return with one or two interesting twists.
Examples of Exotics from Part 1 that are better in Destiny 2 (but not completely broken) include:
As Bungie is currently using Hawkmoon to generate massive anticipation, we assume that the Exotic will be worth it. MeinMMO even goes further and suspects that Hawkmoon could be the salvation of many Hand Cannons.
Are Hand Cannons finally due for a revision?
This is the problem: Since their last major revision, 2 out of 4 Hand Cannon archetypes are virtually useless, one is close to being useful, and only one currently convinces. In February, we reported that Bungie would not change anything in this regard, much to the dismay of Guardians – as stylish revolvers are the favorite weapons of Guardians.
So here are the 4 archetypes:
180s: Fire quickly and very accurately, but have poor damage – only interesting for controller players because they virtually eliminate recoil.
150s: Are the first choice for all Hand Cannon lovers – they intrinsically provide a speed boost, have excellent handling and good damage.
140s: Resemble the 150s but are slower and significantly inferior – the damage is slightly higher, but not enough to make a difference; furthermore, they lack the smooth bonuses. The 150s simply do everything a tad better.
110s: Fire painfully slowly, kick like a mule but hit hard – unfortunately, the slightly higher damage makes little difference in practice, and the characteristic range has been capped. There are no significant reasons to equip a 110.
Indeed, legendary Hand Cannons are thus limited to the 150s.
All Hand Cannons should finally pack a punch again
The requested buff is likely coming: Hawkmoon belonged to the 140s in Destiny 1 – thus part of the current “failures.” Time and again, Bungie has indicated that they are collecting feedback on Guardians’ favorite genre.
We assume that a proper buff is on the way this fall. Because with the major fall expansions, the biggest sandbox adjustments have also come into play.
What better time than the return of one of the most popular Exotics of the genre to conduct a revision?
Whether the 140s will be as “generous” as they were in Destiny 1 is uncertain. In PvP, a critical hit and 2 body shots were needed for a player to be history. Currently, it takes 3 mostly critical hits – for 150s and 140s.
That way, the two archetypes could be distinctly differentiated from each other, with a fast fire rate, better handling but good aiming, or slightly worse stats, but without such a high precision requirement.
This fall, revolver range should finally matter again, as Bungie hinted in May (via TWaB). This would particularly benefit the long-neglected 110s.
What do you think? In what form could Hawkmoon return and retain the characteristic randomness principle without breaking the game? Do you also think it is time for a revision of Hand Cannons? Let us know your thoughts on the subject in the comments.

Genre: MMO-Shooter| Developer: Wargaming| Platform: PC, PS4, Xbox One| Release: 09.17.2015 | Interview Partner: Philip Molodkovets
The naval MMO World of Warships (WoWS) has received a cool new feature with update 0.9.5. You will get the shipyard in the Hamburg harbor in-game and can build two extraordinary German warships for yourself. MeinMMO editor Jürgen Horn spoke with the developers about this new feature, the challenges that historical accuracy poses to game design, and funny anecdotes about gaming museum employees.
The military MMO World of Warships lets you replay tactical battles with ton-heavy warships from the era of the World Wars. Depending on which class you choose – from the sleek destroyer to versatile cruisers to sluggish and heavily armed battleships – you have a different role in the battle.
The developers take particular pride in having accurately transferred a multitude of ships from the real world into their game. You can find legendary warships like the “Bismarck”, the “Yamato” or the “Aurora” in the game.
However, there are also ships that never existed in real war and were either never completed projects or existed only as blueprints that are partially included in the game. With the new update 0.9.5, there is such a “blueprint ship” as a reward, the “Odin”, if you complete various tasks.
World of Warships offers a variety of historically accurate ships.
And all this takes place in the famous shipyard of Hamburg, where many German warships were launched. To learn more about the background of this event and the challenges that ships like the “Odin” pose to game design, I, Jürgen Horn from MeinMMO, asked the developers at Wargaming. Philip Molodkovets, Wargaming’s Executive Producer for World of Warships, was ready for an interview.
What is all in update 0.9.5
As mentioned, update 0.9.5 introduces the new shipyard where you can “build” two ships. For this, you need to complete tasks called “Directives” and gradually finish building the ship.
You can then see the construction progress in the shipyard in the main menu. The more you unlock, the more complete the current ship becomes.
The event has 20 phases, and after completing 10 phases, the first ship, the “pocket battleship” “Admiral Graf Spee”, will be launched. The term “pocket battleship” referred during the war to ships that were actually classified as medium cruisers but were equipped with the armament and armor of heavy battleships.
If you complete the remaining 10 phases, you will even receive the powerful “Odin”, an unusual battleship that focuses on speed and firing rate at close range. Although it was planned, it was never built. Both ships have existed in the game for some time, but players previously had to purchase them as premium models for real money.
However, the “Odin” does not come entirely free. For the last two construction phases, you need to pay the real-money currency “doubloons”. This amounts to 11.51 euros. Ships of this size usually cost around 40 euros in the premium shop.

Why is the Hamburg harbor in the game?
MeinMMO: Why did you choose the Hamburg shipyard for this event?
Philip Molodkovets: Our game is about warships, and building a ship is one of the most important phases in a ship’s life. However, our players see ships that have already been built in the game. Therefore, we decided to let players build their own ships. We like this concept a lot and wanted to improve upon the previous version of the event.
However, the shipyard needs a ship to build: Among several options, we chose the battleship “Odin”. It was in development at that time, is perfect for construction in the shipyard, and would be appreciated by players. Moreover, the ideal location for building a German ship is of course the Hamburg harbor. This way, all the elements of the puzzle came together into the final idea for this event.
An artwork of the Hamburg harbor.
MeinMMO: Will there be more harbor cities and shipyards in the future, such as the Royal Navy headquarters in Portsmouth?
Philip Molodkovets: The shipyard is one of the newest unusual events in our game. The idea of building a ship is very appealing to us and the players. Therefore, we will definitely hold similar events in the future. As for the location of future shipyards, unfortunately, we cannot provide details yet, but I assure you that the new shipyard will be no less impressive than Hamburg.
MeinMMO: The idea of “building” the 2 ships through directives is great. Are you planning to introduce more such “construction projects” for other premium ships in the future?
Philip Molodkovets: As we mentioned earlier, there will definitely be new shipyards. However, only the idea of building a ship remains unchanged. The structure, the event rules, and the rewards may look completely different in the future. We learn our lessons and strive to improve our events each time.
MeinMMO: What details were important in reconstructing the Hamburg shipyards? Which landmarks would a Hamburg resident immediately recognize?
Can you recognize Hamburg?
Philip Molodkovets: A Hamburg citizen from the mid-20th century would surely feel familiar in this environment. After all, our shipyard is located at the very spot where the original stood, albeit in slightly modified form.
In detail, we were particularly focused on designing and implementing the details that ensure the construction process: the dry dock itself, access roads, construction cranes, storage areas, and workshops where the ship elements are produced.
As for the landmarks of Hamburg that are visible from the harbor and shipyard, there are some that one would immediately recognize. For example, the tower of St. Michaelis Church, the Bismarck statue, or the Speicherstadt.
“Odd cruisers” and “blueprint ships” – The challenges to game design
MeinMMO: One of the ships you can acquire is the “Admiral Graf Spee”. This ship was a famous mix of a cruiser and a battleship, a so-called “pocket battleship”. What were the biggest challenges in game design for a ship that is clearly a mix of two different classes of warships?
Philip Molodkovets: Such a ship must take on the characteristics of two ship types at the same time and have a rather specific gameplay. However, it should also be balanced with its classmates. Therefore, the challenge is to adjust the ship’s characteristics in such a way that its concept and unique traits are preserved, while not making it too strong or too weak.
For example, the “Admiral Graf Spee” has a powerful 283-mm gun with good range, but the guns have a very low rate of fire. And for its large number of hit points, the ship pays with low maneuverability and speed. The development of such ships is complicated by the fact that they combine the characteristics of two types, but within the game, they belong to only a single class and must meet, to some extent, the expectations of players of that type.
A fast battleship armed with guns that resemble those of cruisers should still be well-armored and inflict solid damage on opponents through its salvo. And a cruiser, even with strong guns and a large number of hit points that are more typical of a battleship, should still be a universal ship that can perform a variety of combat tasks due to its traits and consumables. All these factors together make the creation of such ships a very interesting challenge in terms of game design.
The famous “Admiral Graf Spee” in WoWS.
MeinMMO: How was the performance and the player feedback about the “Admiral Graf Spee”? Did your concept work out as you had hoped?
Philip Molodkovets: “Admiral Graf Spee” is a cruiser with a very unusual gameplay: strong 283-mm guns, many hit points, and low maneuverability make it more like a battleship than a cruiser. However, we managed to make this ship interesting and balanced, and players generally liked it due to its combat capabilities.
MeinMMO: With the battleship “Odin”, you decided to implement a ship that never existed in the real world and that is based solely on blueprints and project data. What is the biggest challenge with such “design ships”? Are these ships easier or harder to implement into the game’s existing structure?
Philip Molodkovets: Reconstructing a real ship and developing a ship based on a “blueprint” are distinct but equally complex tasks: The main difficulty in replicating a historical ship is fitting it accurately to its prototype. In the case of a ship that was merely a project, the main challenge is to create a ship as the designer intended, based on fragmented documents within the framework of the technologies and national peculiarities of shipbuilding at the time.
The battleship “Odin” only existed as a project in reality, but in the game, it can now sail for the Navy.
MeinMMO: Why did you even decide on a rather unknown design ship instead of bringing ships into the game that really existed in the past and haven’t been implemented yet?
Philip Molodkovets: The ships in World of Warships are primarily designed for gameplay. Therefore, the creation of a new ship always begins with game design. This time we wanted to create a German battleship with non-standard gameplay: a well-armored close combat ship, with smaller caliber artillery than its classmates, but with a high rate of fire for a battleship. The project we based the “Odin” on was best suited for such purposes. In reality, this project did not get beyond the prototype guns, but we could realize it in our game, which we consider just as great as replicating real ships.
MeinMMO: World of Warships is known for its historical accuracy. But how much of it must be sacrificed to achieve a balanced game? Or in other words: When does historical accuracy have to yield to practical decisions in game design?
Philip Molodkovets: We try to maintain historical accuracy in every aspect of the game where it does not harm the gameplay. Even when designing ships that never existed in reality, we rely on the documents and characteristics of shipbuilding from that era. It goes without saying that there are many assumptions in our game, which often relate to gameplay mechanics.
It will be difficult to list them all, so I will limit myself to a few examples: The distances and speeds of the ships in our game are scaled so that battles last 20 minutes instead of days, as they did in reality. Or, for example, the ships in our game have unlimited ammunition, which was certainly not the case in reality. Another example: Radar in WoWS is not a system present on most ships, but rather a capability that is available on certain ships that a player can activate for a short time.
These and many other conventions are necessary to ensure that the game is fun and engaging while maintaining historical accuracy and the spirit of naval combat.
Here lies a nearly finished “Odin” in the harbor.
Fans of World of Warships can appear anywhere
MeinMMO: For your projects, you must collaborate closely with historians and museums. You may come across people who perhaps have never played computer games. What was the funniest or most exciting anecdote you can tell about such meetings and collaborations?
Philip Molodkovets: Well, it’s difficult to remember the anecdote, but your comment about the fact that museum employees often do not play computer games reminded me of a story.
A few years ago we filmed a documentary at the German Shipping Museum in Bremerhaven. At the museum, we met a young school-aged boy wearing a Yamato T-shirt. This young man caught our attention because the audience of our game usually belongs to an older age group.
When we spoke with him, we found out that he was an avid player of World of Warships, and it was his love for the game that drove him to volunteer at the museum. So it is certain that some of the museum staff plays computer games, and some of them have even encouraged computer gaming as a reason to pursue this kind of work.
MeinMMO: Thank you for the interview.
A cool new feature that motivates playing
As much fun as competitive gaming is, defeating other players alone gives me relatively little. Much more important to me is that you have additional motivation to play. That you unlock things that you can only achieve through hard work and good performance.
The new shipyard with the two unlockable ships is such a motivational feature that I really like. Because through the lovingly recreated Hamburg shipyard, I can always see how far my efforts have come and that I may only need a few successes more to finally get my finished little ship.
That Wargaming has chosen two unusual ships as rewards is particularly cool. Because ships like the “Graf Spee” or the “Odin”, which clearly stand out from the gameplay of their respective class, often make for a special thrill in the game.
I am certainly looking forward to how Wargaming will pick up the shipyard event in future updates.

Players in Red Dead Redemption 2 are getting impatient. There hasn’t been a major update for the online mode Red Dead Online for a long time. This Western MMO was supposed to be as big as GTA Online. There is already mockery directed at Rockstar.
The current situation looks like this: Red Dead Online is still receiving support from smaller fixes and updates, but nothing significant has happened in the game for a long time.
Now fans are demanding a new update – the last one was about 7 months ago.
“It’s been 84 years….”
There’s currently mockery about this: in the Subreddit of Red Dead Online, a picture surfaced that many players can relate to. It shows three older men playing together. The caption reads “Me and the boys, playing the next RDO update.”

Content drought prevents major upswing after Steam launch
This is a problem: Red Dead Redemption 2 was announced as the next big game from Rockstar after GTA 5. As with GTA 5, it quickly became clear that Rockstar would not provide single-player DLCs, but wanted to keep feeding the multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, with content.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in October 2018. Red Dead Online launched in November. After the multiplayer part started off rather slow, it seemed to pick up pace with some updates and the port to PC at the end of 2019. In January 2020, Red Dead Online even achieved a player record – the launch on Steam went really well.
But that was also the only hurrah of that year.
While GTA Online continues to distribute weekly bonuses and even released a massive update with the casino last year, things have really quieted down in Red Dead Online in 2020.
As of now, nothing is known about an upcoming update for Red Dead Online. Until then, we will have to entertain ourselves with quirky actions. For example, hundreds of thousands are laughing at an extreme sled ride by a player. Such videos keep popping up and amuse numerous viewers and fans of Red Dead Redemption 2.

The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) has removed a Twitch streamer from its stream team. He is alleged to have published personal information about community members. However, he claims that someone else was involved.
This is what ESO said: On the evening of June 27, Zenimax Online Studios released a statement on Twitter. They have parted ways with a member of the stream team for The Elder Scrolls Online, that is, a streamer they previously supported.
He is said to have created and shared a document containing personal information about community members. The case is currently under investigation and appropriate action will be taken.

Streamer says he was harassed – wanted to report trolls to Zenimax
This is what the affected person says: Zenimax itself does not name the person, but it is clearly about Twitch streamer Kyle Dempster. He has almost 18,000 followers on Twitch, with an average of 200 viewers.
Dempster, however, presents himself as a victim rather than a perpetrator. He claims he was harassed by trolls; he even received death threats. He wanted to defend himself against these and sought help from Zenimax.
According to Dempster, he created a document in which he compiled data from “public accounts”. The accounts supposedly belonged to the trolls who sent him death threats.
Dempster then sent this document with the data to Zenimax and the police, not to private individuals. According to Dempster, someone at Zenimax or a member of the stream team must have circulated this file.
He regrets this. It was not his intention. He is now trying to find out who leaked this document.
Dempster frames it himself as if he resigned from the stream team because he cannot work with a company that does not protect its streamers.
This is the reaction: The behavior of publishing personal information about individuals is called “doxing” – it is frowned upon. Many Twitter users thank Zenimax for taking such action.
Apparently, the blame is currently more on the person who created the document, not the one who allegedly circulated it.
A monument for a deceased player.
The ESO community is considered exceptional, and the Zenimax team seems to appreciate that. In February 2020, a well-known and popular player passed away at the age of just 22. This led to a ceremonial funeral in the world of The Elder Scrolls Online, as hundreds of players said goodbye to him.
As a result, the player received his own monument in ESO:
The Bug Event in Pokémon GO is in full swing. Especially a bonus related to the item Incense is extremely strong. We will tell you why you should currently always use Incense when playing the Bug Catching event.
This is the Bug Event: You can catch Bug Pokémon in Pokémon GO until July 1st. The Bug Catching event grants you many bonuses and for the first time brings Shiny Lithomith into the game.
A highlight is the current Incense bonus: Currently, you attract only Bug Pokémon with the item and get the chance for rare Shinies.
Incense is extremely strong and brings rare Shinies
Here’s what exactly happens with the Incense: The event is comparable to the Incense Day. It always features a Bug Pokémon in the spotlight. The exact schedule is:
From Friday, June 26th at 8:00 AM until Saturday, June 27th at 11:59 PM (local time), mainly Nincada will appear with the Incense
From Sunday, June 28th at 12:00 PM until Monday, June 29th at 11:59 PM (local time), Waumpel will appear more frequently with the Incense
From Tuesday, June 30th at 12:00 PM until Wednesday, July 1st at 10:00 PM (local time), there will be more Shuckle with the Incense
The increased spawns with Nincada are already a thing of the past, but now there are still Waumpel and Shuckle to look forward to.
Similar to the Incense Day with Wiesor, there is currently always a Pokémon in the spotlight of the Incense.
These Pokémon are currently attracted by Incense
Why is this so strong? The Incense attracts exactly 60 Pokémon per hour and currently only Bug monsters. You can therefore easily take advantage of the Bug Event from the comfort of your couch without having to go outside.
Trainers on reddit report that out of 60 spawns there are about 10 to 20 of the featured Pokémon. Currently, that would be Waumpel, and starting June 30th at 12:00 PM it will be Shuckle.
However, Lithomith continues to appear regularly, and thus the new Shiny, which everyone currently wants. Lithomith is not too common in the wild – so you have the best chances at a Shiny with the Incense.
Here’s how to make good use of it: Whenever you’re going for a walk, also light the Incense. This only increases the chance of getting a sought-after Shiny.
You can also conveniently use the Incense from home. If you’re watching a movie, you can have the app and the Incense running in the background and still benefit from it.
The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) has a wonderful way of dealing with the topic of LGBTQ+, at least according to MeinMMO author Larissa Then. She reveals what she likes about it so much.
What does LGBTQ+ mean? LGBTQ+ refers to a community around lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other individuals.
Why does this interest me? I, MeinMMO author Larissa Then, am part of the community myself, even though I am currently in a heterosexual relationship. Therefore, I am rarely a victim of hostility, but I witness it in my closest circle of friends. Unfortunately, the world is still very backward when it comes to everything that does not conform to the norms in their heads.
And what does this have to do with ESO? I am always positively surprised when I stumble upon an LGBTQ+ character in The Elder Scrolls Online. In Tamriel, the world of ESO, gender nearly plays no role in matters of love. This can be seen in some quests and NPCs.
What is Pride Month? During Pride Month, supporters of Gay Pride and many others commemorate the Stonewall riots. In New York City, on June 28, 1969, another raid was conducted at the Stonewall Inn, which was known for its gay and transgender audience. Openly living homosexuality was considered offensive behavior at that time and was punished. During the operation in 1969, many people resisted arrest for the first time. This event was regarded as an initial cry for equality and is annually commemorated through the “Christopher Street Day” parades or the Pride Month.
A quest with a lasting impression
What kind of quest is this? I always love to share my favorite quests with you. One of my most impressive experiences related to LGBTQ+ in ESO was a small quest in Greenheart called “The Flower of Youth”. There, you come across the Bosmer Hartmin, who is standing by his dying husband Mirilir.
The two have returned to the place of their youth. They used to sneak there when they were freshly in love. There were beautiful flowers at this spot, but they have now disappeared.
Since Hartmin is too old to gather the flowers himself, he asks the players to collect seeds of the plant. The further plot of the story is censored by a spoiler box, which you can click on if you are interested.
This is how the quest continues
When you return to Hartmin with your two quest items, unfortunately, Mirilir is dead. However, Hartmin is happy about the seeds and plants them around himself and the corpse. He says that all that matters is that they were together until the end.
What do I like about it? The quest tells a heart-wrenching story about two men who have spent their entire lives together. Even though it consists only of small fragments, you can almost feel the love through the screen.
The conversation with Hartmin
This is mainly due to the dialogues. It is somewhat theatrical, but I definitely accepted their story and feelings and was able to empathize. The best part is: The two in love men are simply standing or lying in ESO as if it were the most natural thing in the world – thank you.
In the real world, I rarely see older same-sex couples. That may also be due to the city I live in. I hope that in 30 or 40 years, when I am old myself, the park benches will be filled with the most colorful combinations.
What kind of quest is this? This is “The Manor of Masks” from the Summerset expansion. You are supposed to find Rinyde’s brother Larydel here. Another key figure in the quest is a woman named Alchemie.
The wizard Alchemie with her mask
For these two, you have to complete several intermediate steps and ultimately receive a diary from Rinyde, which contains information about her life with her brother.
In it, it states that he is increasingly isolating himself and she is worried about him. One night he came home smelling of perfume and smeared with lipstick. When a theater troupe comes to their town, her brother completely disappears. I will provide the continuation of the search in a spoiler box.
This is how the search continues
During the quest, you continue searching for the brother and meet several artists. Ultimately, you end up back with Alchemie, who asks you if you ever thought about what Larydel, the brother, wants.
She tells you that Larydel has chosen his own path and does not want to be a wizard. His sister should please accept that. After some back and forth, it comes out that Alchemie is actually Larydel and did not want to stand in the way of her sister Rinyde.
The two reconcile in the end, and Rinyde just wants her brother Larydel or now her sister Alchemie to be happy.
What do I like about it? The story is full of doubts from a transgender person, into which I do not even dare to venture. However, ESO builds the story beautifully. The diary entries provide a comprehensible external view of the events.
Moreover, there are the dialogues that also highlight the brother’s side. He wants to go his own way but does not want to hurt anyone and just wants to be accepted.
In the end, his path is accepted by his sister. She only wants her brother to be happy. Some people could take a lesson from that.
The artists in this quest all hide behind such masks
And what about marriage in ESO? You can marry as a player in ESO and gain benefits. For example, you receive an additional 10% experience when playing with your partner.
What gender and race you both are does not matter at all. Anyone can marry anyone in ESO. Everyone has the same rights and duties – nice idea, right? But at least regarding marriage, we have made quite a bit of progress in the real world over the last year.
It is not all sunshine and rainbows
Now to believe that ESO is a perfect world without violence and hatred is naive. Especially between the races, there are many prejudices. There are Elves with re-education camps for what they see as “inferior races.” Vampires are hated right from the start, and in the latest expansion Greymoor, the Nords first try to kill the helpful vampire Lyris.
The Orcs live in patriarchal conditions and maintain harems of various women. Nothing about the lore world in ESO is perfect. It is still a war-torn world with structures that need to be broken to allow everyone to live freely.
However, the handling of same-sex love or transgender individuals is well portrayed. They are simply there. Normal people at any corners, who are looking for their wife and not their husband or vice versa. No one cares, and I wish it could be that way in the real world as well.

In Call of Duty: Warzone, you can find mysterious messages since the start of Season 4. MeinMMO shows you the intel for week 1 for the mission “Divided”.
What are intel missions? Along with the introduction of Season 4, new intel missions have started that you can check in the challenges tab of the Call of Duty: Warzone menu. Under the “Missions” section, you will find the “Intel” tab far to the right.
Overall, you need to collect six pieces of information for the week 1 mission, which are scattered across the large map of the Battle Royale. So you don’t have to search for the “Divided” mission intels alone, here are the individual intel locations marked on the Warzone map. Here are the intels for the other weeks:
Ghost is at the center of the story surrounding Verdansk and needs your help.
How to complete the 7 steps of the Intel mission in CoD Warzone
Tip: You can only complete one step of the quest per round. You need to collect 6 pieces of information and therefore also start at least 6 matches. It’s best to go solo in a round with large teams, like trios or quads. This way, you will have more enemies in the individual teams, but overall fewer teams that can get in your way.
Nearly all intels can be reached quickly after your parachute landing. Grab the intel and jump straight into the next match. This way, you can earn a total of 42,500 XP within half an hour. If you complete the missions in a team, each member must collect the intels themselves.
Bug Alert: Some intels for week 1 cannot be collected. If you are stuck at a point of the mission, unfortunately, there is nothing else you can do but wait for a patch. Even starting a new match does not help.
1. Find the location from Ghost’s message
Reward: 2,500 experience points
How to complete the task: Land on the western rooftop of the TV station, which is slightly lower. Go east through 2 doors to get to the room above the large main room. Jump through the window (not so easy) and go left at the bottom. On the round table towards the exit, there is a golden coin. If you activate the gold, you have found the first intel.
2. The evacuation is on the way…
Reward: 5,000 experience points
How to complete the task: Land on the small rooftop that points north in the middle of the airport. Run south and jump into the airport. Once you reach the bottom, turn around and jump over the desk. The computer there hides the intel.
3. Communication was lost before the attack. Follow the trail…
Reward: 5,000 experience points
How to complete the task: This time you need to activate the computer located south in the airport tower. Pay attention to which level you land on. If you are too high up, it will be difficult to reach the level below. The entrance to the tower below is to the west and offers an elevator in case you want to take the conventional route.
4. Verdansk ATC reported that a transporter is offline.
Reward: 5,000 experience points
How to complete the task: You will find this intel south of the military base in the crashed plane. Here there is a frozen lake and one of the walkable loot bunkers in Warzone. In the “cockpit” of the crashed plane, there are some documents that you should collect for Ghost.
5. A downed plane attempted to contact the Arklov airbase…
Reward: 5,000 experience points
How to complete the task: The last two intels can be found at the military base. The first intel is in one of the barracks by the large hangar. If you enter from the south, check the desk opposite and activate the computer to take the data.
6. Signal and Electronic Intelligence decoded a message after the attack.
Reward: 10,000 experience points
How to complete the task: The last computer with intel is located to the south in the air force base, near one of the antennas. If you approach from the south, keep right and push some buttons on the device to finish the first search.
7. Mission completed
Reward: 10,000 experience points
How to complete the task: For the last step, you don’t need to do anything else. Upon your return from the match, you will receive a digital pat on the back from Ghost in the form of another 10,000 experience points added to your account.
If you want to take another detailed look at the individual points in the video, we have embedded a 4-minute video from the German YouTuber Storm 4044 here:

The small “story campaign” of Warzone gives insights into the events surrounding the attack on Verdansk and brings in a lot of experience points. It will be exciting to see how the story and the map develop further. Leaks suggest that the stadium, underground trains, and nuclear missiles are the focus of the next developments.

Because the new character customization will probably connect me to the game more than some other features.
Until now, character customization in WoW has been rather limited. There are only a few different options per race, and usually many players walk around with the same customizations, because many simply look terrible.
And honestly: It happens quite often that you encounter a character that looks quite similar to your own. Especially with the more popular races like Humans, Blood Elves, or Draenei, this is regularly the case. I always think secretly, “Hey, delete yourself, that’s my character!” and feel a little annoyed. After all, such a character is something you connect with a lot.
The better it will be in Shadowlands. When I already see what new combinations and what a variety of options will be possible in Shadowlands, I am really satisfied.
Every day new screenshots of players appear in the WoW subreddit, showing either in the Alpha of Shadowlands or the dressing room of Wowhead as they create their characters. For example, take this picture here:
Just seeing how many different, cool characters there are makes me happy. Night Elves with leaves in their hair, great beards on Humans, empty eye sockets, necklaces, and jewelry, or just the new hairstyles. All of this looks so good that when Patch 9.0 releases, I will probably spend a whole day just at the hairdresser to make my characters look like how I’ve always described them in RP.
The artwork of the Night Elves – finally characters can look like this!
Of course, character customization as a whole is just a small piece of the puzzle, and if the gameplay features don’t fit, it helps very little. But finally having “my” character and being quite sure that maybe only one or two others on the realm have the exact same appearance – that makes me very, very happy.
And who has not always wanted to have leaves in the hair of a Night Elf to finally recreate the famous artwork from Warcraft 3?

The Chinese company Tencent apparently wants to enter the streaming business. Streamers starting on the platform Trovo are expected to receive hefty financial injections. The Trovo platform is reminiscent of the market leader Twitch.
What is Trovo?Trovo Live is a new streaming service based in the USA. The still very young platform is in beta and does not have a large audience.
It is backed by the Chinese giant Tencent. Tencent is known for acquiring stakes in gaming developers:
Riot Games, the developers of League of Legends, fully belong to Tencent
Now it seems Tencent wants to enter streaming as well and shows no reservations about who they want to learn from. Anyone looking at the layout of Trovo’s homepage and game overview will surely notice some similarities with Twitch.
Homepage and game overview at Trovo
What does Trovo promise to streamers? Currently, the highest viewer numbers are in the low hundreds, which is negligible compared to other platforms, but this is expected to change.
Tencent has given the streaming service a financial boost of $30 million, which is intended to attract new streamers to the platform. The entire sum is to be used for this purpose.
To attract new streamers, Trovo has established the “Creator Partnership Program.” 500 streamers who stream on the platform and meet certain viewer and hour requirements will receive payments ranging from $600 to $4,200.
Additionally, there will be other bonuses based on growth speed and ranking. New streamers can earn up to about $5,000 in total.
A graphic explains the different levels of rewards and the bonuses that streamers will receive for them.
Twitch has recorded nearly 100% annual growth, excluding non-gaming content such as “Just Chatting”:
Statistics from April 2020 show that Twitch is at the top of the streaming platforms
It remains to be seen what strategy Tencent will pursue with the streaming service Trovo. However, it is unlikely that the $30 million investment will be the end of it.
