In late 2019, Google launched its gaming service Stadia. Through it, games can be accessed and played directly in the cloud. Expensive gaming hardware or downloads are not required. However, the great success did not materialize, and the porting of games for Stadia is said to have been quite expensive.
Where does the information come from? Gaming journalist Jason Schreier has written a report on Google Stadia for Bloomberg. In it, he talks about the unusual way in which Google has handled Stadia, as well as the costs and problems of the service.
He particularly emphasized the costly porting of video games like Assassin’s Creed and The Division. These alone are said to have cost a double-digit million amount.
Schreier also explains why so many players have a problem with the Stadia model.
Too much advertising, time pressure, and high costs
What did Google do wrong? According to Schreier, Google took an unusual path with Stadia from the beginning. While new products usually start with a long beta phase – GoogleMail was in beta for 5 years – Stadia was advertised from the start and sold as a finished product:
Phil Harrison, the head of Stadia, called it the “future of gaming”.
It was introduced with marketing campaigns for innovative features and a game library with exclusive and well-known titles.
However, Stadia employees reportedly told Schreier that the time frame until fall 2019 was too short to deliver all the features players would expect.
From their perspective, Stadia should have been marketed more cautiously and as a beta.
Good, but expensive games: To enable the porting of games for Stadia, it is said that double-digit millions were paid to well-known publishers like Ubisoft and Take-Two.
Why was Stadia still not a success? Despite the high costs, the selection of games at launch was limited, and there were no exclusive titles that players could not use elsewhere.
The unfamiliar payment model added to the difficulties:
Initially, a starter kit for 130 euros was needed. This requirement was later removed.
Initially, a subscription for 9.99 euros was mandatory for usage. Now it can be used with restrictions, such as missing 4K, without a subscription.
Many games offered by Stadia need to be purchased additionally. Because Stadia’s subscription primarily provides the service itself, unlike, for example, Microsoft’s Game Pass. If Stadia were to be discontinued, access to the games might be denied. A risk.
What happens next? Currently, Google still holds on to Stadia, even though they themselves do not develop exclusive titles. Instead, the focus in the future will be on external games.
However, Schreier suspects that if no drastic changes occur, Stadia might follow a different traditional path – that of discontinuation, as seen with Google+, Answers, or Hangouts.
In addition to Google, Amazon is currently also working on a streaming service. Luna is supposed to include games directly in the price:
In Destiny 2, the Iron Banner of Season 13 is live, but Guardians are struggling to make 10 kills. This issue was faced by players back in 2020, and they now accuse Bungie of having forgotten about it.
Since the Weekly Reset on February 23, Guardians can enjoy the first Iron Banner of Season 13. The PvP event runs until March 2 and features top-tier loot, a quest, and exclusive rewards.
Update 02/27: Bungie announced that they will automatically complete the problematic quest step of “Saladin’s Feud” involving 10 power weapon kills for every player.

Otherwise, all tasks remain unchanged. With this, Bungie addresses the problem from 2020, using the solution they already had back then. So, if you like many others did not have fun because everything revolved around the highly contested power ammo crate, you can breathe a sigh of relief.
The original article follows
This causes frustration: In addition to the 4 loot chests that drop the coveted loot, Lord Saladin at the Tower has the quest “Saladin’s Feud”. It requires the usual in 5 steps: Capture x zones, eliminate Guardians with specific weapons or complete x matches.
However, one quest step is quite a stumbling block: “achieve 10 kills with power weapons”.
In fact, power weapons are the strongest guns in Destiny 2. A shot from a rocket launcher can take out plenty of Guardians at once. So why are numerous Guardians now struggling to achieve 10 seemingly trivial kills with them?
Many Guardians are stuck here
Power weapons kill the fun in the Iron Banner of Season 13
This governs the Iron Banner: The problem is not the lethality of power weapons but getting the ammunition for them. It comes from a crate that only one team can open, and after a few seconds, the crate disappears again. Once the ammo crate appears, it is marked for everyone on the map.
Since everyone wants to complete the quest, all Guardians gather near the crate and camp, sweating and lurking.
Here, grenades are thrown, and everything else a Guardian has to offer – the opposing team is not allowed to access the crate.
Even if you have won the trench battle and load the coveted ammunition into the rocket launcher or draw your sword, the opposing team activates their super and tries to steal the ammo. Then the outcry is enormous.
It’s also annoying when a teammate steals your kill just because their shot arrived a millisecond earlier.
The whole match in the Iron Banner seems to currently revolve around this crate of power ammo. This massively disrupts the gameplay flow and completely ruins the fun for many.
This is how the community reacts: On Reddit, in the Bungie forum, and also here on MeinMMO, there are numerous posts such as:
“10 power weapon kills are a joke” (via Bungie.net). Users claim that they feel so bad because they just can’t get to the ammo and can’t achieve what seems like a simple task.
Some Guardians anticipated the problem in advance and said before the reset: “Hello Bungie, we see in the API that tomorrow’s Iron Banner requires kills with heavy weapons. Who thought that would be a good idea?” (via reddit).
On MeinMMO, reader Ryon comments in disgust: “Disgusting how everyone waits for the ammo…”
It is also criticized that due to the special Iron Banner rules, matches often end prematurely and one side dominates strongly. This is due to the mechanic that locks zones and grants triple points to the stronger team.
Even the loot itself is a target of criticism. Because it is basically just recycled from previous years.
These two guns are “new” in the Season 13 Iron Banner loot pool
“Has Bungie learned nothing?”
The problem is not new: Back in 2020, a quest in the Iron Banner required Guardians to secure kills with rocket launchers. Even then, the uproar was high and camping at power ammo was unbearable.
Guardians have not forgotten this and are now mocking Bungie for seemingly having learned nothing. On reddit, it says for example “Do you remember when they [Bungie] had to automatically complete it because it was too bad? LOL.” The site thegamer writes: Bungie forgets the important lesson not to make power ammunition a requirement for Iron Banner.”
The good news: Capturing zones and eliminating Guardians while trying to get power ammo counts towards later quest steps.
In total, you still need to achieve 15 super kills
Capture 40 zones
Eliminate 100 Guardians.
Additionally, there are kills with pulse rifles and submachine guns – but you will automatically receive those two weapons from the quest when the time comes.
Until Bungie decides to change the quest – if at all – you have no choice but to equip weapons like the Wardcliff Coil or the Colony and save your super for the power ammo. Or you can just leave the quest aside for now, as you have until May 2021 to tackle it.
Have you ventured into the Iron Banner and are you also frustrated with the required power weapon kills? Do you possibly have tips for other Guardians? Share them in the comments.
With Fortnite or currently Call of Duty: Warzone, the Battle Royale genre is incredibly popular. MeinMMO editor Noah Struthoff is also addicted to a Battle Royale, but instead of shooting his opponents, he defeats them as a cold-blooded geography nerd.
This game is about: In recent weeks, I have become downright addicted to Geoguessr. It’s a browser game where you get shown a location somewhere in the world via Google Maps. You can then move around using Street View and must figure out which country or city you are in.
There are various modes with different regions of the world. There is even a Battle Royale available, where you compete against other players and must discover your location particularly quickly. If you are too slow, you are eliminated.
In the Victory as a Geography Nerd
This is what Geoguessr looks like: There are tons of different modes to choose from. Do you want to travel only in Europe? Do you want to recognize only countries or the exact location? Do you want to be able to move around or just see that one picture? The selection is vast.
Once you have decided on a mode, you usually start directly with the first location. This is what it might look like:
On the right side of the image, you will then see a world map. If you think you have recognized the exact point, you can zoom in and select. The game will then tell you how far you were from the actual target.
This is how the Battle Royale works: In this mode, multiple players compete against each other. You have a total of 3 attempts to find the correct country. If you guess wrong 3 times or if enough other players were faster than you, you are eliminated.
In the end, it then goes to a 1-vs-1. Whoever recognizes the right country first wins the round.
A good overview of the course of a round in Battle Royale can be seen in this video:

How much does Geoguessr cost? Per day and email address, you can play exactly one round for free. However, this does not include rounds against other players, but only solo adventures.
If you want to play Battle Royale or more than just one round a day, you can subscribe.
This is how I became a geography nerd: The game excited me right from the first round. My great passion, besides gaming, is traveling. The Corona crisis is unfortunately greatly restricting that right now, so at least I can think of upcoming trips through a few pictures from other countries. It costs at least $1.99 a month.
In the first rounds, I was brutally defeated by my opponents and even in the solo rounds, I wasn’t particularly successful. I therefore watched YouTubers and noticed that there are even real leaderboards and records for Geoguessr. Several YouTubers are really successful there and can recognize their location from the smallest details.
I quickly learned some tricks and got better quickly. Let’s have a test. In which country in the world are we here?
Click on the image to enlarge it.
At first glance, this looks like a completely normal city that can probably be found anywhere in the world. However, we are here in Brazil. How do I know that?
The center line of the road is orange. This is usually only the case in America. All other continents are eliminated.
Additionally, I see an advertisement in the background that is either Spanish or Portuguese
The biggest clue, however, I find on the left of the bridge on the yellow wall. There is an internet address with the ending .br – that stands for Brazil (such tips with URLs can only be found by luck; they are often pixelated)
My nerd knowledge goes even further. Over the past few weeks, I have studied the countries that have left-hand traffic. This way I can recognize from the cars which countries are possible.
Additionally, there are some countries that do not have Google Street View at all. They also cannot be part of the game. This is particularly helpful when there are Arabic signs. Only 3 countries worldwide use Arabic signs and have Google Street View: Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.
If you want to show off in front of your friends, and believe me, I have already done this, then tell them the following: Kyrgyzstan is the only country in the world that uses Google Street View and has a red stripe on the left license plate. So, if I see a car with such a red stripe on the license plate in Geoguessr, I know I am in Kyrgyzstan.
With all this knowledge and many more nerdy things that would exceed the scope here, I dominate the rounds in Geoguessr. I haven’t made it into the game’s holy leaderboard yet. But who knows, maybe that dream will also come true sometime.
If you are looking for more Battle Royale, in which you certainly have to shoot some shots too, then check this out:
In FIFA 21 the brand new “What If” event has started. We will show you what the new promo has to offer.
When did the event start? The new FUT promo started today, on February 26th, at 7:00 PM.
What kind of event is this? The new What-If event features fresh, dynamic FUT cards that can receive a one-time +2 upgrade if certain What-If scenarios are fulfilled in real football.
The scenarios look like this:
Forwards and midfielders receive an upgrade if their respective club scores at least 6 goals in the next 5 league matches.
Defenders and goalkeepers receive an upgrade if their respective club keeps a clean sheet at least once in the next 5 league matches.
The new What-If cards from Team 1
These players are included: The first What-If team features really strong cards. Among them are Kanté (91), Sancho (90), Jovic (87), and Mbabu (85).
CDM: Kanté (91)
RM: Sancho (90)
CAM: Gomez (90)
CB: Marcelo (88)
CB: Smalling (88)
CAM: Odegaard (88)
LB: Yuri Berchiche (87)
LM: Pereyra (87)
ST: Jovic (87)
CM: Lees-Melou (86)
RB: Mbabu (85)
Additionally, two more What-If cards are coming into play with Caputo (87) and Raphinha (88). You can unlock Caputo through season objectives, and Raphinha is available as a Squad Building Challenge (SBC).
These contents are additionally available: In addition to the new What-If cards, more Icon Moments cards have been released. These new icon cards are now available in FUT 21:
What about the Winter Refresh?
When could the Winter Refresh start? After the release of the Icon Moments cards and Icon Swaps 2 last Friday, the FUT community firmly expected a release of the Winter Refresh Event this week.
However, there is still no new information regarding the winter upgrade event. We are curious to see if the Winter Refresh will take place next week. It is also possible that the Winter Refresh and What If will occur together.
What exactly is Winter Refresh? Midway through the season, FUT cards typically receive upgrades through the Winter Refresh. If players have shown particularly good performances in real football during the first half of the season, they receive better cards through the Winter Refresh. Additionally, the Winter Refresh in FIFA 20 introduced a Winter Refresh team with further improved special cards.
We remain curious if and especially when the Winter Refresh is upcoming and will keep you updated here on MeinMMO as soon as we know more about the new “What If” event. And if you’re looking for reinforcement for your team, then we have some top cards (under 50,000 coins) for you.

The map of Valheim is huge, and traveling across it can take you many hours. It is particularly annoying when you have to sail around large islands and then run out of wind. Players have now found a way out: they dig channels themselves.
What kind of technique is this? Valheim allows you to adapt your world through terraforming. This way, you can excavate hills and ditches – and in some cases, a channel to pass through with a ship.
If you dig deep enough, you will often encounter water at sea level. Some players take advantage of this to create a channel through the islands on the huge maps of Valheim.
You can see how that looks in this clip from Reddit, where a player has dug a channel for his Karve to connect a lake and the ocean:

What is the benefit? With this technique, you can use your ship to travel straight through a large island instead of around it. This way, you reach different places faster – for example, to the swamp to mine iron. You can still cross the channel with a bridge.
This is especially useful if you want to cover long distances without a portal or transport ores. Make sure to dig deep enough, or your ship won’t be able to pass. A Karve shouldn’t have any problems, but for a Longship, you’ll need to create the channel properly.
Channels and Terraforming in Valheim – Here’s how to do it
How do I create a channel? You only need two tools: a pickaxe and a hoe. You can easily lower land with the pickaxe, and with the hoe, you can raise areas or even lower them further than intended.
To create a channel, you should stand at a low point on one of the two banks you want to connect. Dig deep enough to just barely stand and then start using the pickaxe to tear down the surrounding heights.
Stand a little away from the wall, or you’ll also raise the part you’re standing on. A pickaxe lowers the height of the part in front of you to the level at which you are currently standing. In our guide, we explain to you how to get a pickaxe.
This is important because you can usually only dig eight meters deep. However, if you are already at a deeper point and hit a wall in front of you, it will be instantly demolished regardless of its height. YouTuber Slindrep shows more terraforming tricks in his video:

Tips and Tricks for Terraforming: If your channel is not deep enough, you can use two tricks to dig even deeper. The first trick is the “legal” one. Equip your hoe and select the “Flatten” function.
Stand on a point that is lower than the one you want to adjust. If you can’t reach it because it is underwater, place a wooden floor above it and stand on it. It will calculate your distance from the bottom of the world, not from the ground you are standing on.
If you flatten the ground from there, you will lower it another notch – in most cases deep enough for a Longship to traverse the channel without issue. Alternatively, you can take the route through admin commands if you own the server:
Open the console with F5
Type “imacheater” and confirm to activate commands
Then type “debugmode” and confirm
Close the console and press the “Z” key
You are now in flight mode and can fly up and down with the Ctrl and Space keys. With the pickaxe, you can continue digging even underwater – at least for a few blocks.
By the way: If the wind plays tricks on you, the power of the fourth boss, the Dragon Mother Moder, can help you. When you activate her power, you will always have the wind at your back while sailing for five minutes. This way, you will never experience calm. In our guide, you can find out how to summon and defeat all bosses in Valheim.

Apparently, there are some people accusing the Twitch streamer of staging the robbery to gain attention. To them, she says: She does not need that. She is a top-notch chef. And besides: If she had faked it, she would have been much cooler than standing there, clutching a spoon and trying to hide under the counter.

The streamer can make nothing of it. She says she would always solve such situations non-violently if she had the choice. It is completely insane to stab a crazy person.

This was the situation live on Twitch: The streamer Tricia Wang (27) is a trained professional chef and has training in French and traditional Japanese cuisine. She worked in a two-star restaurant.
During a stream on Twitch, she was preparing seared scallops when she suddenly looked startled. Suddenly, loud voices were heard in the stream. The streamer appeared shocked and irritated. You can hear her say: “Leave the house.”
Then she took a defensive position, held a spoon in front of her, and crouched slightly behind the counter. Ultimately, she turned off the stream.
What scared her so much? The streamer later clarified the situation:
A man broke into the house through the garage and simply came upstairs into the living area
Luckily, the chef’s roommates were there: They positioned themselves between the man and the streamer
The situation was gradually calmed down while the man shouted strange things
Eventually, the intruder was taken away by the police. Now he said: She was his princess and he was there to save her

In hindsight, there were some comments saying things like: “You should have taken a knife and gone after him.”
Especially the men seen in the Twitter clip are accused of behaving unmannerly. They should have used violence in that situation.

The MMORPG Bless Unleashed was supposed to be released for PC on Steam at the beginning of 2021. However, the release has been delayed, and a new beta has been announced for May.
What is going on? The MMORPG Bless Unleashed was released in March 2020 for Xbox One and a few months later for PS4. A PC version was also announced, which was supposed to launch “early 2021” on Steam.
Many expected a release within the first quarter, but that has now been ruled out. The developers have announced a new closed beta for May 2021. In this, there will be a final test before Bless Unleashed officially launches.
However, there is still no final release date.
The MMORPG market for PC has been severely dried up for several years. Very few new games are coming out. In Asia, mostly mobile MMORPGs are being developed. In Europe and North America, hardly any new AAA MMORPGs are being released; only indie studios are still developing games. Therefore, Bless Unleashed would have been the first proper PC MMORPG if it had launched on Steam in Q1 2021 as announced.
Developers want to improve player experience on PC
Why is the release delayed? In a brief post on Steam, the developers explained that they want to improve the player experience before the release.
Specifically, the following things are being adjusted:
Adjustments to the UI
Improvements to combat, including adjustments to skill usage and “comfort of abilities”
General adjustments to the systems
A detailed explanation of the planned changes is to be published in a blog post in March.

You can get an impression of the PC version of Bless Unleashed in this video from YouTuber TheLazyPeon.
What problems does the game have? Even in the first beta in 2020, there was a lot of feedback, particularly regarding controls and the UI. Bless Unleashed felt more like a poor port from consoles than a fully-fledged PC MMORPG.
Adjustments were made earlier, including longer sprinting, an auto-run button, and adjustments to how items are used.
However, these adjustments did not go far enough for many players in another beta in January. That is why the developers have likely decided to push back the release.
What is Bless Unleashed anyway? The free-to-play MMORPG emphasizes action-packed combat and challenging bosses. It is a theme park game with a linear story told through quests. You can choose from 5 different classes to dive into the adventure.
In the endgame, you’ll encounter many field bosses and dungeons, as well as PvP in the open world. We have already tested the game on PC and written a preview about it:
In the demo of Outriders, it is already possible to obtain the legendary weapons of the loot shooter. MeinMMO shows you how to farm them.
What are legendary weapons? In Outriders, legendary weapons are the highest rarity tier. They have a cool design and special mods that give them unique properties.
It was previously unclear whether these weapons are available at the beginning of the game. However, with the demo that was released on February 25th, we now know: legendary weapons can already be found at a low level at the very beginning of the game. We show you the known ways to farm these weapons.
‘The Iceberg’ is one of the legendary weapons that has already been found.
Legendary weapons drop from loot crates
How do you farm legendary weapons? Reports from previous players indicate that the best sources for legendary weapons are the loot crates that can be opened at the end of missions. The problem here is that the crates remain empty if you have already played the mission.
This is how you reset the crates: If you have already played all the missions, you only need to follow a few steps to refill the crates.
Leave the game and go to the menu, then select the option “Return to Lobby.”
There you can choose a point in the story that you have already played.
If you do this, all the crates that have been opened until then will be reset, and you can open them again. Your character progression remains intact.
In this way, after you have completed everything in the demo, you can replay anytime and collect loot.
You can also see how this works in the English video from YouTuber DPJ. However, keep in mind that the chance of these weapons dropping is low. The chance increases with the higher difficulty (World Tier), but in the demo, only 5 World Tiers are available. So you should aim to farm at World Tier 5.
It may take a long time for a weapon to drop due to the low drop rate. However, some players have already reported in the comments of the above video that they have found the special weapons.
Which quest is the best? According to another video by ImPwnstar, there is a kind of loot cave in the quest Terra Infirma that you receive from the NPC Shira.

You need to play this mission up to an elite enemy. Kill this enemy, collect the loot, and then let yourself be killed by the remaining enemies.
You should then respawn at a checkpoint right before the boss and can repeat this cycle. However, this might soon be patched by the developers.
Progress from the demo can be carried over
Why it’s worth it: The really cool thing here is that you can carry over all the loot and progress you earn in the demo to the full game. Your efforts are not in vain.
When does Outriders release? The official release is on April 1, 2021. Outriders will then be available for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5 and Google Stadia.
In Season 2 of CoD Warzone, there are now yellow access cards on the map. We will show you the locations and what you can do with the cards. They open loot crates.
What are these cards? Since the launch of Season 2 in Warzone, you can now also find the yellow access cards. These are part of the new Outbreak, sending zombies to Verdansk. However, the cards are extremely rare. If you loot them early in the game, you can gain a significant advantage with some luck.
We will show you here in the overview where you can find the yellow cards and which crate you can open with them.
There is only one yellow card per game.
You need to take down a lot of zombies for that.
Afterward, you can open a loot box with the card.
Update March 12: After a playlist update, you can find the zombie event with the yellow access card at the location “Prison” east of the “Shipwreck”. The machine for activation can be found downstairs in the prison blocks.
Here you can find the Shipwreck – on the new map it is even marked.
Enter the Shipwreck and activate the terminal in the small room on the right side (seen from the main entrance). It will change from green to red and start a zombie event.
During the event, you should take down 40 zombies. The last of these 40 zombies will have the yellow access card for you and drop it.
This is important: There is only one yellow access card per match. So if someone before you has already played the event with the 40 zombies and obtained the card, you cannot do it again.
If someone else started the event and you kill and loot the 40th zombie, then the card belongs to you. Apparently, you can also take down the owner of the keycard and snatch it from them if you are quick enough.
How to use the yellow access card
Here you redeem it: Once you have picked up the card, you will see a yellow marker in your interface. It is located on the minimap.
The target can also be found in Shipwreck and is only a short distance from the terminal. There you will find a loot box. You can only open this if you are in possession of the yellow access card.
In the box, there is all sorts of randomly generated loot. Early players report the following contents of the loot box:
Weapons
Cash
Gas Masks
Armor
This is how it works: In the following video by DrWick, you can see how obtaining and using the yellow access card can look like.

Here is more: In Call of Duty Warzone, you can find bunkers at various locations that you can open with access cards. You unlock the “old” bunkers with the red access cards. You can find these access cards with some luck in the loot boxes.
Have you already gotten such a yellow access card and had experiences at the Shipwreck? Players report that many simply camp at the box and wait for unsuspecting players with the yellow card to come in. So be careful and watch closely if you are really alone.

What’s inside the silos? The silos are filled with weapons and equipment that you can grab. Whether there are special items there is still unknown; at least none have been found so far.
The new silos are just one of the changes in Season 2 of Warzone. With this, zombies also came into the Battle Royale, new weapons, a new Battle Pass, and more. So you have plenty of content to check out in the coming days and weeks. You can find more about this in our special with all the content and info about Season 2 of CoD Warzone and Cold War.
The new Season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Cold War comes with several features, including missile silos. In these, you can stock up on plenty of loot. MeinMMO explains where to find them.
What are silos? Similar to the bunkers of Warzone, the silos are rooms underground. The silos store missiles that apparently belong to a new story of the Battle Royale or continue it.
You can find the silos in Verdansk, the first map of the Battle Royale. A total of three are distributed along the edges of the map.
Unlike the bunkers, the silos are simply open. They are holes in the ground that you can jump into. Just remember to open your parachute, or the fall into the silo could potentially kill you.
Silos in Warzone – Locations and Loot
Here you can find the silos: Two of the silos can be found in the south, near the shores of Verdansk. One silo is directly south of the map marker for the park, the second silo is exactly south of Promenade West and southwest of Hills.
The third silo, however, is located far to the north, southwest of Military Base and east of the dam. We have included the map with the exact locations for you:
The locations of all silos in Season 2.
However, keep in mind that the silos will likely become a popular starting point quickly to gather loot. So expect tough battles against other players.
The silos themselves are quite large, which is why you can easily get lost in there. If you can loot one of them, take the time to memorize the layout. It is similar in all silos. Here you can see short clips of the bunkers live in the game:

You currently have the choice between the RTX 3060 and the RTX 3060 Ti for Full HD graphics cards. However, you should pay attention when choosing, as there are clear differences between the graphics cards.
By now, you can purchase the RTX 3060. The first independent tests of the RTX 3060 describe it as a successful mid-range graphics card for gamers who want to play in Full HD with high frame rates.
Interested parties now have the choice between the RTX 3060 and the RTX 3060 Ti. But at this point, you should be cautious.
What is the problem? While the RTX 3060 is equipped with 12 GB of video memory, the RTX 3060 Ti only has 8 GB.
One might first think, “12 GB is more than 8 GB, why should I forgo 4 GB and pay more for it?”
But that is a misconception that we want to explain to you in our article. The Ti variant is still the faster and better graphics card.
RTX 3060 Ti – when are 8 GB better than 12 GB?
What is the difference in memory? The most important difference is the memory interface. This is responsible for quickly transferring data to the rest of the computer. The faster the memory controller, the more data can be transferred and subsequently processed. Via the PCI-Express interface, data goes from the computer to the graphics memory and is then processed by the GPU.
What does this mean? While the RTX 3060 uses a 192-bit interface, Nvidia has implemented a 256-bit interface in the Ti version. This also shows in the bandwidth:
The RTX 3060 achieves 360 GB/s with its 192-bit interface.
The RTX 3060 Ti achieves a significantly higher performance of 448 GB/s thanks to its 256-bit interface.
Therefore, the 8 GB of the Ti version are faster connected to your system than the 12 GB of memory of the RTX 3060. The reason the RTX 3060 has more memory is solely due to the technology used.
Why does the RTX 3060 have 12 GB? Nvidia only had the choice between 6 and 12 GB of video memory for technical reasons with a 192-bit interface. 6 GB is currently hardly recommended.
What is the disadvantage of the RTX 3060? 12 GB of video memory may initially sound like a lot, but it is not fully utilized.
The GameStar shows in their test of the RTX 3060 that the graphics card does not need 12 GB of video memory and does not fully utilize it.
The RTX 3060 does not fully utilize its 12 GB of video memory. Source: GameStar.de
In the GameStar benchmark, memory usage is consistently well below the limit, and Nils Raettig from GameStar suspects that performance may become a problem for the graphics card in the long term rather than video memory.
RTX 3060 vs RTX 3060 Ti – further differences
However, the differences go beyond the size and speed of the memory. Technically, the RTX 3060 is initially weaker than the Ti model.
The RTX 3060 offers significantly fewer shader units (3584 vs 4864)
The memory bandwidth of the RTX 3060 is lower (360 GB/s vs 448 GB/s).
The theoretical computing power (calculated in teraflops) is 12.7 TFlops and thus lower than that of the Ti version (16.1 TFlops).
On the other hand, the power consumption of the RTX 3060 is, of course, lower than that of the Ti version. In practice, however, this should not make a big difference.
What does that mean? In summary, the RTX 3060 offers you less performance than the RTX 3060 Ti, even though the 12 GB of video memory initially sound tempting.
If you want to see the performance differences in comparison, you can watch this (English) YouTube video (110,000 views) where the RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti are compared:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQyE_nlGsyM
RTX 3060 vs RTX 3060 Ti: What about Raytracing?
More video memory is generally better for raytracing, as the memory is utilized more heavily here.
However, the problem lies in the basic performance of the RTX 3060. Igors Lab points out that the gap between RTX 3060 and the Ti version with raytracing enabled is significant. The tester writes, “The gap to the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is significantly. It renders 27 percentage points faster in Full HD, with DXR and in WQHD then still about 28 to 32 percentage points faster.”
According to ComputerBase, the GPU does not reach 60 FPS in Full HD, so you should rather opt for the RTX 3060 Ti. However, the 8 GB may become a bottleneck in the long term.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, WQHD, Source: HardwareLuxx.de

For those primarily interested in raytracing, the RTX 3070 may therefore be the better long-term alternative compared to the RTX 3060 Ti, as it not only has more memory but also more performance reserves. With raytracing enabled, it can provide (depending on resolution) an additional 8 to 15 FPS.

RTX 3060 Availability – hardly anyone will get a graphics card
When can you buy the RTX 3060? Since February 25, 2021, Nvidia’s new graphics card has been available, but very few users have likely actually managed to get one.
Our colleagues from GameStar already report that the RTX 3060 can currently be purchased for around 700 – 800 Euros on eBay and other online marketplaces.
AMD alternative to the RTX 3060: Currently, the RX 6700 (XT) is being discussed as an alternative from AMD. For the successor to the RX 5700, there have already been leaks, but it is still unclear when this graphics card will even be released. Some suspect that there will be an initial announcement in early March 2021. Whether availability will be better with AMD is still another question.

In the subreddit for League of Legends, the user crookedjoker posted a video in which he almost achieved a pentakill. However, in the end, it was the opponents who thwarted his plans.
What happened? The player was on the opposing jungle with the new champion Viego. There, he encountered enemy players one by one, whom he was able to eliminate solo.
First, he faced Vi and Aatrox, who came into the fight with slightly fewer health points and without the spell “Flash” after an earlier duel.
Next, the opposing AD carry Lucian came into sight. He was not actually alone, but died so quickly that his supporter Taric couldn’t help him.
Taric himself then died to Lucian’s abilities, which crookedjoker had absorbed with Viego.
Then came the final 1v1 between Viego and Katarina.
Yet this kill was not meant for the player. Because the opposing team, which was already at a significant disadvantage before the fight with Viego, surrendered.
With the successful surrender vote, the game ended, and crookedjoker was denied his pentakill.

How do the reactions look? The video received over 620 upvotes and was temporarily in the top 5 of the subreddit. In the comments, viewers express their sympathy for the player:
Sk8thunder writes: “I expected a strange Viego bug where the final kill goes to one of the enemies, but this is just much worse.”
LogicalOcelot expects that the player will go crazy: “You must really be going crazy, Bro.”
The user obese-to claims to fully understand the pain: “The same thing happened to me last week on Urgot during my promos. The pain of seeing the surrender vote go through in chat and knowing it’s too late to do anything.”
How does the player himself react? For crookedjoker, it would have been his first pentakill with Viego. But it didn’t take long. Just one day later, he posted another video where he achieved the pentakill.
This time, however, he received a lot of help from his teammates.

Why is a pentakill so special? A pentakill is the best achievement one can reach in LoL. It means that all 5 enemies were eliminated in a very short period of time. The call that is heard in the game is the goal of many players.
It’s frustrating when one is denied this special moment. This usually happens because another teammate gets one of the kills. Here, the pentakill was prevented by a surrender, which is rather rare.
A case that is even rarer is the double pentakill. Such a clip also went viral on reddit:
Now the former pro has returned after 12 months of FIFA suspension.
This is what Kurt says in his video: In his YouTube video, Kurt reveals that his FIFA ban is still active and that he hasn’t been able to play for a minute in the past year. He mentioned a phone call with EA regarding the ban, but stated that nothing has changed in the current situation. EA is not yet ready to pardon Kurt.
He then goes on to say that EA accuses him of promoting the toxicity of the FIFA community and that this violates EA’s guidelines. But Kurt does not want to accept this, he says:
“They told me I created a toxic community. But at the end of the day, many people had a smile on their face when I played FIFA.
But what has changed in the last year without me? The community is more toxic than it has ever been. I know who is responsible for that. Not me… It’s them.”
With this, he takes a strong stance against EA and cites 15-year-old Anders Vejrgang as an example, who struggled with constant bullying from the FIFA community.
However, Kurt also has a suggestion to eliminate the toxic atmosphere in the FIFA community. He advises EA Sports: “Just develop a better game.”

According to a leak, the games that will be available for free in March 2021 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 are known, provided you are a PS Plus subscriber. If the leak is correct, the co-op shooter Remnant: From the Ashes will be available for free to players, which has been considered an MMO insider tip in the last 2 years.
What kind of leak is this? The Dutch Facebook page of PlayStation apparently announced the games too early. Since then, the leak has spread across the internet.
Although the Facebook page has since deleted the image with the new games, capturing such a leak again is always like trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube.
The free PS Plus Games in March 2021 for PS4 and PS5
These are the free games:
Final Fantasy VII Remake – was released in April 2020, holding a score of 87% on Metacritic. It’s a real blockbuster.
Maquette – is a puzzle game for PS4, PS5, and PC. The free PS Plus version is only available on PlayStation 5.
This is the MMO blockbuster: The co-op shooter Remnant from the Ashes was a surprise hit for many players in 2019. In 2020, it was complemented by an expansion that also received positive feedback.
The following aspects are particularly praised about Remnant: From the Ashes:
a sophisticated co-op mode
a high replay value
a fantastic combat system
enough uniqueness to stand out from the crowd of “Soulslike” games
For most “regular” players on PS4, Final Fantasy VII Remake is certainly the highlight of the offer.
Remnant struck a chord with many MMO fans – in a good way.
Is the leak accurate? If the leak turns out to be true, we will inform you here on MeinMMO. However, it should be almost certain if it comes from an official site that just published it too early.
The demos of the new shooter Outriders are playable and the first players have expressed their criticism, with mixed to negative opinions. MeinMMO author Benedict Grothaus can understand the criticism but still has a lot of fun with the game.
What is Outriders? The new co-op shooter from Square Enix and People Can Fly is part of the cover shooters in the style of Gears of War. You play as one of the titular Outriders, who are to explore new habitable planets after the (self-inflicted) destruction of Earth.
However, something went wrong and you find yourself waking up from cryosleep a few decades in the future. The new planet Enoch is once again caught in the eternal war of humans who slaughter each other.
Only there is something different about you: You are now “changed” and possess magical powers that give you control over earth, lightning, and fire, and make you immortal. Quite useful in a futuristic post-apocalypse full of blood and death.

What can you test in the demo? In the demo of Outriders, you can play the first almost three hours of the game and already discover a lot of content. All four classes in Outriders, their skills and equipment are available up to the corresponding level cap of level 7 for the character and level 5 for the world.
Basic mechanics and the story of Outriders are already outlined or explained. It is really a demonstration, not just a beta. It could have gone better for a demo – but it is still fun.
Technical problems, or: How a demo should not look
What is being criticized? First of all, the launch went completely wrong. The demo was supposed to start on February 25 at 6:00 PM, but was only playable later. Especially players on PlayStation could not find a demo to download for hours in the German store.
In the game itself, there were mixed opinions about Outriders. Especially here on MeinMMO, the technical aspects were criticized; on Reddit, it looks a bit more balanced, but still not entirely positive. We have already reported on the first reactions to Outriders , here are the biggest criticisms summarized:
Cutscenes are locked at 30 FPS and the camera shakes constantly, which can lead to motion sickness
Capes clip through characters or swirl wildly – the physics are probably not quite right yet
Lip synchronization and dubbing in general often do not match
Motion blur particularly disturbs players on PC and cannot be turned off in the usual way
Is it really that bad? Yes, indeed. Even in my test, these are the points that stood out negatively to me, although I am fortunately not prone to motion sickness. Clipping capes and general graphics glitches usually bother me little, which is why I overlook them.
Cutscenes are really often shaky or out of sync – and there are very many of them.
But the cutscenes and poor dubbing detract from the immersion of the game, which is otherwise maintained really well. These breaks unfortunately detract from the fun of the game, which I think is generally high in Outriders.
Are improvements planned? Yes, for the full release, cutscenes are supposed to run at least at 60 FPS, and motion blur will probably get its own option in the menu. This will eliminate some of the major criticisms.
Benedict is a passionate gamer for all genres. Over the years, he has accumulated hundreds of hours in shooters, including tactical shooters like Rainbow Six and Call of Duty. Overwatch and Destiny 2 also appear in his portfolio. With Remnant: From the Ashes, a similar title to Outriders recently kept him engaged for dozens of hours, sometimes deep into the night.
Cool skills, strong weapons, and tough enemies
That’s why I’m having fun with Outriders: It all sounds a bit apocalyptic, but it really isn’t. Despite the flaws, I’ve had immense fun with Outriders, and that’s mainly due to the gameplay.
The different weapons challenge and encourage different playstyles. Mods for weapons and armor enhance skills and encourage trying out different builds. The classes have their own tasks and approaches, so each character plays differently and has a different experience with the enemies.
For instance, I died several times with my devastator because I played him incorrectly. As a tank and melee fighter, I shouldn’t just stand behind cover and shoot enemies with a sniper rifle, even though I love sniping.
Once I adjusted, grabbed a shotgun and an LMG, and simply overran the enemies, Outriders became not only more action-packed but also more exciting and fun. Enemies become more dangerous this way, as they can hit me easier – but they also die faster if I apply enough pressure.
After all, I have abilities that interrupt enemies, heal me in melee, and protect me from damage – so I should damn well just run in and shoot them in the face! That’s how my class is built… I think.
If done right, not much remains of the enemies.
What are the good sides? Outriders manages to provide excitement with a high level of difficulty that keeps increasing, along with unique skills for the classes. Enemies can’t simply be swept away – unless you do it right and take risks.
Elite enemies and bosses even adapt to your behavior. If I interrupt them too often, they become immune to it. This requires different approaches that can vary from class to class.
Depending on which skills and weapons are available, a fight can play out quite differently. In a group, this is certainly different again, although I haven’t been able to test that so far.
The interplay of different styles, a lot of action, and challenge raises the adrenaline. It’s the overall package that makes Outriders fun and the necessity to commit to it. And then there are the visuals and the damn dark world…
Humanity is already at its end… where do all these damn bodies come from?!
Blood, war, and corpses – gaming fun for adults
When I first saw images of Outriders, I thought: it looks like Destiny 2, but good. Alien planets, space mages, and tons of loot at least suggest that. So I assumed that the story and the world would be rather “tame”.
Far from it. Outriders is dirty, brutal, and strikes again when you think you’re getting used to it. The first scenes after the prologue are an example: After being awakened from cryosleep, my “saviors” first leave me behind.
A nice break from the otherwise classic scene of rescue. Afterwards, I am captured and taken away – which is normal. Along the way, my guard stabs my fellow prisoner in the head with his knife and kicks him off the truck while his blood spills on the loading area. Okay… unexpected, but still within the realm of reason.
A somewhat peculiar “greeting from the kitchen”…
Afterward, I am driven through a long tunnel where people hang from ropes from the ceiling, crucified or otherwise killed. After the tunnel comes a camp with prisoners who are beaten, executed on their knees or tortured. And as a crowning finale of this rebel camp, someone is hanging tied by their hands above me by a rope, being roasted alive with a flamethrower.
That was just the first of my WTF moments, of which I will not spoil any further. But the end of this first journey presents a scene where I am thrown into an anomaly storm and impaled by a metal rod. That should have been a hint for how dark Outriders would become…
In a proper dystopia, a sex dungeon must not be missing. Don’t worry, the owner won’t harm anyone anymore.
Conclusion: A rough diamond
All in all, I am very satisfied with the approximately 3-4 hours that I was able to play the demo up to the current ending. I had my fun, and I look forward to testing the other classes with friends on upcoming evenings.
I only see urgent need for improvement regarding the technical shortcomings. If the status remains as is, the gameplay has to compensate a lot. And so far, detailed experiences with the crafting system and the endgame are missing to determine whether that’s feasible.
For a “demonstration,” which this version of Outriders is supposed to be, it’s clearly suboptimal. If you present potential players with something that doesn’t work, under the premise that it is a preview (and not a test), you have to expect criticism.
That’s why I hope these errors are fixed by the release. There’s still a bit of time, and at least the gameplay systems currently seem complete and refined. So hopefully only a few details are missing for a smooth gaming experience. The final touch, if you will.
What is your first opinion on Outriders? Did you play the demo? Did you have fun, or did the technical issues prevent you from progressing?
With the Blackwood add-on, the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online will receive a new tutorial this year with a starting zone for all newcomers. This is urgently needed, says MeinMMO author Andreas Bertits.
What is the problem? Since the release of the new expansions in ESO, players always start in the latest add-on, provided they have purchased it. Although they can choose freely how to proceed, this can become complicated at the beginning. It can even be a challenge to find the start of the original main quest.
Where do I need to go to experience the story correctly?
Why do I start in Morrowind when I should actually be fighting the Daedric Prince Molag Bal first?
Is it bad if I go to Skyrim first and then to Elsweyr?
With the new Blackwood add-on, the start is supposed to become more uniform again. And this is important.
This is how it was at the start of the MMORPG
At the release of the MMORPG ESO in 2014, every player started the same way, as a prisoner in Coldharbour. After breaking out and escaping this dimension to Tamriel, players found themselves in a sort of second starting zone. Depending on the alliance chosen at character creation, it was:
Khenarthis Rest for the Aldmeri Dominion
Stros M’Kai for the Daggerfall Covenant
Glenumbra for the Ebonheart Pact
These areas, separated from the rest of the game world, served basically as a tutorial. Players experienced their first adventures there, were slowly introduced to the larger story and the lore of The Elder Scrolls, and familiarized themselves with skills and general gameplay. After completing this introduction, they proceeded to the open game world.
There it was possible to continue the main quests, which led heroes through the story, or everyone could go their own way within their chosen alliance.
In the Let’s Play of ESO by YouTuber Bombadin, you can see the original entry into the MMORPG:

The add-ons changed the start of the game: With the major update One Tamriel in 2016, the situation changed. The alliance restrictions were lifted. Every player could do whatever they wanted from the start. The quests scaled to the character level, and it didn’t matter where one started.
This made the starter zones less meaningful. The freedom for players to choose their own path from the beginning took precedence. The three tutorial areas still exist today, but it is no longer necessary to visit them.
Things became complicated with the introduction of the add-ons. No matter if you play Morrowind, Summerset, Elsweyr, or even Greymoor, you can jump directly into the new areas and their respective stories – even with a newly created hero.

With the Greymoor expansion, you enter the game similar to the intro of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
Finally, a new tutorial is coming
The unified start is coming: Since the question of the correct order in which the story should be played occurs so frequently, the developers of ESO have now come up with a new solution.
With the new Blackwood add-on, which will be released on June 1 for PC and June 8 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, a unified starting zone and a new tutorial will be introduced. These will lead you to a point where it makes sense to choose one of the major storylines (main quest or expansion tasks).
What this zone will look like is still unclear, but the mere fact that it is coming is extremely important. If players no longer know where to begin their adventures in an MMORPG and cannot recognize a guiding thread through the story, then something needs to be done.

With the Blackwood add-on, the entry into ESO changes.
Why this is so important: Especially the entry into an online role-playing game is extremely crucial. The first hours of gameplay often decide whether a player stays long-term or becomes frustrated and quits. If at the beginning someone has no idea how to play, they might look for another game that introduces them better.
MMORPGs like The Elder Scrolls Online thrive on having as many players as possible. The idea is to always find someone to share adventures with and explore the world together. The interaction in a group constitutes a large part of the fun of a multiplayer title.
If many players drop out during the confusing tutorial, an online game can face problems sooner or later.
A new tutorial with a starting zone where every beginner starts and knows exactly what to do will likely please newcomers to ESO. Finally, there will be a point where the story begins, and from this point, players will be gradually introduced to the mechanics and the story.
One no longer feels overwhelmed by the many options presented at the beginning, not knowing which one to choose.
After this gentle introduction, new players will know how the basics of the MMORPG work; they will learn more about the world’s lore and understand how quests and the story are structured in the game. This impression will help them decide whether to stay longer or quit. Players will give ESO a fair chance.
And the freedom to do what they want, to go wherever they want to travel, will continue to exist – just after the new tutorial.
This week you can earn new mounts relatively quickly in WoW . If you don’t have the Nether Drakes yet, you should definitely start now.

What are the Netherwing? The Netherwing are a special dragonflight that lives in the shattered world. They primarily appear in Shadowmoon Valley, where they are used by the Orcs as mounts and weapons. As a player, you aim to free the Netherwing while simultaneously undermining the Orcs to take out their leaders.
At the end, you are rewarded with your own Nether Dragon as a flying mount. If you want, you can buy additional colors for 100 gold each.
What kind of trick is this? Through the Timewalking “The Burning Crusade”, there is currently a hefty reputation bonus of 50% on all quests and reputation gains with the factions of this expansion. This is particularly lucrative for the Netherwing. You start at “Hated”, which means you are hostile. However, after completing a questline, your reputation will jump to “Neutral”.
The 50% bonus ensures that after the quest you earn a whopping 63,000 reputation points (as a Human even a bit more), thus jumping from Hated directly to Revered! You will then just have to collect the missing reputation points from Revered to Exalted. Although that will still take a few days, it saves a lot of time.
You can currently earn Nether Drakes quickly.
Where does the questline start? The questline starts with the NPC Mordenai in the southeast of Shadowmoon Valley (shattered world). The first quest is called “Kindness” and asks you to feed some Netherwing. Just follow this questline until you reach the mission “Ally of the Netherwing”. This grants the hefty reputation bonus you are after upon completion.
By the way, it is worth farming a bit more reputation after completing the quest. The bonus also applies to daily missions or turning in Nether Eggs.

What if you’ve already started? If you’ve already completed the intro quest with your main character and have since left the Netherwing on hold, you might want to play a second character. Since this twink starts at Revered right after completing the quest, he can significantly faster complete the last part of the reputation grind and unlock the mounts in just a few days.
Have you already got the Nether Drakes? Or are you taking the opportunity to finally catch up with this faction?

The zombies are supposed to gradually overrun the entire map
There is supposed to be a nuclear explosion
Both could be directly related

Zombies take over the map – Are they responsible for the explosion?
What exactly is happening right now? If you look at the map of Verdansk, you can see a claw symbol in the wrecked ships area. This means that this area has been overrun by zombies.
YouTuber Geeky Pastimes suggests that more areas will gradually be taken over by the zombies until eventually the entire map belongs to them.
Once 100% is reached, there could be a special event.
