Today, on April 12, 2022, the Spring Event kicks off in Pokémon GO, bringing you many spawns, shinies, and bonuses. Additionally, new costumes, a legendary Pokémon, and a mini-event will be featured. We at MeinMMO will show you what to expect.

What kind of event is this? Just in time for the upcoming Easter festival, Pokémon GO launches the “Hop into Spring” Spring Event. In the coming days, you will encounter numerous thematic spawns and can benefit from various bonuses.

What you can specifically expect has been summarized for you in this article.

When does the event start? The Spring Event starts on April 12, 2022, at 10:00 local time. It will run throughout the Easter festival until it ends on April 18, 2022, at 20:00 local time.

All Spawns and Shinies for the Spring Event

During the Spring Event, you can look forward to many spawns. These all revolve around the themes of spring and Easter. Some monsters, such as Togetic and Buneary, have even dressed up specially for you. Therefore, you can find them in their costumed form, with a flower crown.

Moreover, there will be a new legendary Pokémon: Kapu-Toro. Where you can find which monsters during the event is summarized for you below.

Wild Spawns for the Spring Event

As you may know from most other events, other thematic monsters spawn primarily in the wild. This will also be the case during the Spring Event, so you should look out for the following Pokémon:

• Pikachu with flower crown*
• Nidoran male*
• Nidoran female*
• Jigglypuff*
• Eevee with flower crown*
• Flurmel*
• Haspiror with flower crown*
• Scoppel*

With a bit of luck, you may also encounter:

• Chansey with flower crown*
• Togetic with flower crown*

Pokémon in 2-km Eggs

In addition to the altered wild spawns, you can also look forward to special Pokémon from 2-km eggs that have adapted to the Spring Event:

• Pichu with flower crown*
• Fluffeluff*
• Azurill*
• Mampfaxo
• Wonneira with flower crown*
• Togepi with flower crown*
• Owei*
• Klingplim
• Riolu*

New Legendary Raid Boss Kapu-Toro

There will also be a new raid boss in level 5 raids during the period from April 12, 2022, to April 25, 2022. You will encounter the legendary Pokémon Kapu-Toro there. It comes from the 7th generation of games and is the guardian of the Alola island Ula-Ula.

Kapu-Toro is of the Grass and Fairy types. However, it does not have a pre-evolution or evolution. As you know from Kapu-Riki and Kapu-Fala, Kapu-Toro also has two shells that it can close for protection.

These are red and are located above its head. Its body is stout and black. Additionally, it has two horns above both shells. There is a golden bell at the end of its tail, and its hoof-like hands are also adorned in gold.

Limited Research “Egg-report: Spring Surprise” – All About the Mini-Event

During the Spring Event, you can expect a limited research called “Egg-report: Spring Surprise”. Pokémon GO uses this research as an opportunity to provide you with a related mini-event with altered spawns and additional bonuses.

All Spawns for the Mini-Event: During the timeframe of the mini-event for the limited research “Egg-report: Spring Surprise”, you will encounter different Pokémon in the wild than during the Spring Event. With a bit of luck, you may also encounter them in their shining form. We have marked them for you with a (*):

• Bulbasaur*
• Myrapla*
• Paras*
• Knofensa*
• Tangela*
• Endivie*

All Bonuses for the Mini-Event: Of course, corresponding bonuses must not be missing from a proper event. Niantic probably thought the same and has expanded the benefits for you during this three-hour event. In addition to the existing bonuses from the Spring Event, the following additions are included:

• Tasks for limited research by spinning at the PokéStop
  • Encounter with Owei*
• Owei can evolve into Alola-Kokowei
• Charged attack Draco Meteor when you evolve Owei into Alola-Kokowei during the event

When does the Mini-Event take place? The mini-event for the limited research “Egg-report: Spring Surprise” will run on Saturday, April 16, 2022, from 11:00 to 14:00 local time.

In Pokémon GO yesterday the Community Day Classic with Mudkip took place. Now the trainers on social networks are taking stock and are quite upset about the shiny rate. We at MeinMMO will show you what happened.

What event is this about? On April 10th, 2022, a so-called Community Day Classic took place in Pokémon GO for the second time. As with the regular C-Day, a selected Pokémon was also the focus here, but one that had already had a Community Day in the past: Mudkip.

The Community Day Classic with Mudkip lasted for 3 event hours, which have since passed. Many trainers are therefore drawing a personal conclusion on social networks about the event and are particularly upset about the shiny yield.

What happened during the C-Day Classic that upset trainers?

Even though the actual Community Day in April with Marshomp is still to come, some trainers were excited about the Community Day Classic with Mudkip. Swampert, the evolution of the water Pokémon, is especially a popular candidate in the GO Battle League.

Of course, many also wanted to take the chance and finally secure a shiny Mudkip. A Community Day actually provides the best conditions for this. But many trainers are seeing it differently on social networks now.

That’s why the trainers are upset: As can be gleaned from the reddit community, some players complain that they used the entire 3 hours of the event and played actively but hardly received any shinies. They are upset about the poor yield and vent their anger (via reddit.com):

• Furyadventures: “I didn’t see a shiny all day”

• Articwolfpup: “I diligently played for 3 hours and got no shiny. As a rural player with the next PokéStop 10 miles away, the incense is annoying. I’m also sad because Mudkip is my favorite Pokémon and I really hoped to get a shiny”

• i-have-soquestions-: “I got 4 shinies all 0 stars all low CP”

• MeanBird88: “I played the whole 3 hours and couldn’t believe how few shinies there were. I managed to get about 7, but still, wtf. The incense nerf, the Community Day nerf, and what’s next? Honestly, it’s so frustrating.”

But why was the shiny rate so bad?

Why the shiny rate was so poor is officially unknown. Naturally, this has led to speculation in the community regarding the reasons. After all, the shiny probability during Community Days is usually increased and it is relatively easy to spot one.

Some users are therefore certain that this poor yield is a result of the recent changes to incense effectiveness as well as the short event duration, as can be read in the comments (via reddit.com):

• Mrwigglebutt: “With the recent change regarding incense and the reduction of hours at Community Day, I changed my shinies from 1-6 to 0. If you want people to stop playing, you’re doing a great job.”

• joannaghoulsom: “It doesn’t allow any of us, who are adults (most of us) and have to work or attend meetings, to participate as much as we would like, which I find very frustrating and alienating.”

• Bo_flex: “Why is it called Community DAY when it only lasts a few hours?”

And indeed, this could play a crucial role. Niantic has recently “reduced” the effectiveness of incense. So now, you get fewer Pokémon from incense when stationary. They now spawn only about every 5 minutes. However, you are supposed to benefit from a higher spawn rate from incense while moving.

And the duration of community days has also been in criticism from the community for a few weeks. While the C-Day Classic also only lasted 3 hours the first time, the regular Community Days are also supposed to be reduced in the future from 6 to 3 hours.

Were the shiny rates of all players so poor?

However, not all players can confirm this experience. Some were really lucky and therefore can hardly understand the frustration of the other trainers. For example, plaguevape writes: “I have about 9 shinies. I don’t think it’s Niantic’s fault, but rather user error” (via reddit.com).

Unequal shiny distribution when playing together with friends: It would therefore be a plausible conclusion that the affected trainers were perhaps a bit less active than those with a higher yield.

However, there are also reports in the comments where trainers played together and one hardly discovered any shinies while the other had a huge yield. This is also confirmed by Swing_Sense, who writes: “I have 6 and a friend of mine has 23, so… what am I doing wrong?” (via reddit.com).

Why the shiny rate was so unevenly distributed during the Community Day Classic with Mudkip, and why some trainers went away empty-handed, is unclear. Generally, catching shinies is always a matter of luck. The community can only hope that the upcoming community events will be better.
