In the card game Hearthstone , Blizzard has included a tough achievement, “Spicy Pretzel Mustard” – the most famous Twitch streamer for Hearthstone, Kripparian, took it as an opportunity to strike a deal. But not like many streamers with an energy drink manufacturer, rather with a mustard company.
What kind of achievement is this?
- In Blizzard’s card game Hearthstone, there has been a mode “Battlegrounds” since 2019, where 8 players compete against each other until only one is left.
- One of the hardest achievements you can attain in the mode is called “Spicy Pretzel Mustard” – it’s like “Spicy Pretzel Mustard” – in German, the achievement is called ‘Spezialknabbermischung’: To achieve it, you must be first in the mode and win every round. There’s also the achievement without Spicy, which only requires winning a game without conceding rounds.
- As Blizzard revealed in June 2021, only 5.8% of all Hearthstone players have completed this achievement.
Why is the achievement named that? Nobody knows – Blizzard is sometimes quirky. Maybe an insider joke.

Who is the most famous streamer for Hearthstone? The streamer Octavian “Kripparian” Morosan is a character of his own: Where other streamers capitalize on every hype, groaning into microphones or making a fool of themselves with loud screams, the 34-year-old has been playing Hearthstone for ages. He is known for his dry humor and calm, composed manner – of course, Kripp also complains terribly and gets “salty” when things don’t go his way in Hearthstone. That’s just part of the game.
When Hearthstone was a huge deal on Twitch – long, long ago – people often talked about Kripparian.
Nowadays, Hearthstone plays only a minor role on the streaming platform, but Kripparian remains loyal to Blizzard’s card game: With 1.5 million followers, he has built a large following.
On average, 4,300 viewers watch him today. That makes Kripp about 5 times smaller in 2022 than in 2016 when he had 21,000 viewers, but Kripparian loves Hearthstone and can’t help it.
In 2016, Kripparian was such a Hearthstone junkie that with a click he could have brought the servers down, as Ben Brode once revealed.
Hearthstone is a somewhat silly offshoot of WoW:
“Kripp may be too salty – This pretzel spread is not”
This is now his new project: Kripparian has made a deal with a mustard manufacturer and is now selling “Kripp’s Spicy Pretzel Mustard.”
The 237ml can is available for $20.
On Amazon, we learn: “Kripparian wanted to bring you the taste of victory with a sauce that is a performance in flavor. This recipe for horseradish mustard has been inducted into the Mustard Hall of Fame in Middleton, Wisconsin. Kripp may be too salty, but this delicious pretzel spread is not.”
It is also assured that the product is vegan-friendly and the horseradish root has been trimmed, chopped, and peeled by hand.
First customers, in any case, seem enthusiastic: The product has already received 5-star ratings: “Tastes like Kripp,” says one buyer. Well then, enjoy your meal.
