However, the map looks quite overloaded at first glance and can quickly feel overwhelming. Unfortunately, it also has not been translated into German and is therefore only available in English. However, this does not make it less helpful for many things.

How do you set it up correctly? At the start, the map simply displays everything. This can quickly feel overwhelming, especially since you don’t need so much information right at the beginning of the game.

On the right side of the browser window, you will find a list of everything that exists in the currently selected instance. You can easily click on the things you don’t want to see at the moment.

At the beginning of Lost Ark, we recommend hiding all islands first. This immediately makes the map more inviting and less cluttered. You won’t need the islands until you reach level 30 or higher anyway.

If you are looking for a specific area, you can also directly access it by searching in the top left. However, keep in mind that you need to search by the English name and that you can only search for areas, not directly for NPCs.

Find Mokoko Seeds and collectibles more easily

How do you find the seeds? The map from Papunika has marked all Mokoko Seeds that you can find in Arkesia. You just need to display them on the map of the area you are currently in.

If you need more precise help on how to obtain one of the rare seeds, you can simply click on it and usually receive assistance. For example, if you click on the seed behind the Barrier of Mount Zagoras, it will say that you must first destroy the barrier.

The map also points out certain challenges at the beginning of an instance. In the dungeon of the Blackrose Chapel, for example, the room to the Mokokos opens only if you have not killed any civilians during your run.

To ensure you don’t notice this too late, such hints are always marked with a star on the map, which you need to click on.

The map is also absolutely helpful for cooking items. You should always click on the items you need to collect since you often need to process them further. The map provides valuable hints, such as stating that a certain item needs to be kept in the inventory for 10 minutes before it can be used.

Finding bosses made easy

What else is useful? The map also shows all locations of possible bosses that you might still be missing in your adventure journal. Conveniently, you can see at a glance the rhythm in which the fixed bosses spawn or under which conditions you can summon them.

Even the mini-bosses needed for the adventure journal are displayed on the map and can easily be found by you. The bosses therefore help you just as much as the Mokoko Seeds in the game. However, the map offers even more benefits when you are actively exploring Arkesia.

Apart from Papunika, the guides on the site maxroll.gg are also recommended. Especially with the increasing gear score and in the areas of Yorn and South Vern, these are often more detailed than the map on Papunika, a combination of both will ensure you the easiest way to all collectibles.

What does the story have to do with the map? The map of Lost Ark also helps you find the important collectibles for the adventure journal. Besides the bosses and cooking ingredients you need, the exciting hidden stories also count.

These are small collectible items you can find in the world. When you interact with them, you can read a short text and learn more about the world of Lost Ark. These hidden stories vary in length and are displayed in green on the Papunika map.

The map also directly shows you how many pieces such a hidden story has in total. If you only see the name of the story in green, you merely need to interact with it and you’ve completed the story.

If there is a number behind the name, such as 1 / 4, it means that you need to find a total of four of these stories to complete it.

How do you find them with the map? If you find such a split story but don’t know where the other parts are hidden, the map will help you out. Simply click on the green exclamation mark of the hidden story and the locations of the other corresponding parts will be displayed.

I often look at the Papunika map more than in the game

The map can do a lot, but is that good? The map from Papunika can do a lot and offers numerous options to find exactly what I truly want. But with that come risks for me as a player.

I constantly use the map on my second monitor and check it more often than the in-game map. I rarely have to actively search for Mokoko Seeds, as I always know thanks to the map where they are and how to reach them.

However, this also has the major disadvantage that the real exploration of the world is lost. Without the map, I probably would never have found numerous hidden accesses; instead, I would have examined other parts of the game more closely.

Or generally visited places where there is no collectible at all. Because in the rush of completion, it has frequently happened to me that I completely ignored parts of the world because I knew thanks to Papunika that there was nothing there anyway. And that is quite a shame.

Therefore, I recommend a good balance in dealing with the map and perhaps using it only when you truly can’t progress anymore. But if you just want to have everything and get through the maps as quickly as possible, the map could become your best friend.

Are there alternatives? Yes, the Lost Ark Database website also offers an interactive map. It even shows you a bit more than the Papunika map, such as locations of hidden treasures and opportunities where you can play different songs.

However, we personally find the Papunika map more pleasant to use as it is more user-friendly and offers more customization options.

In Lost Ark the queues were extremely long at first. Anyone logging in after 6 PM could not get online on some servers before midnight. But how long can you actually stand AFK before you get kicked out?

How long is the AFK timer? Initially, to prevent queues, there was an AFK timer in Lost Ark that would kick you out of the game after 30 minutes of standing around. However, as the MMORPG currently has no more issues with queues, they have gradually gotten rid of this feature over time.

So, you currently don’t have to worry about getting kicked from Lost Ark. You can stand around as long as you want and you will still be in the game afterwards and can continue playing directly. Whether the timer will return is also questionable.

Settings are only for the in-game view

Can I change my AFK timer? No. In the game, there is an option where you can change the AFK settings, but it concerns a marking in the game itself. You can decide whether it shows in the game after 15, 30, or 60 minutes that you are AFK.

Actually, Lost Ark shouldn’t have any AFK kick at all, at least this isn’t the case in Korea. That’s why they also have the option to adjust the time to 60 minutes. This initially led to confusion as players were kicked after 30 minutes at release.

How long were the queues? That fundamentally depends on the server. Anyone visiting the German servers Beatrice and Asta will have several thousand people in front of them. On Asta, the first queues were even present on Saturday morning. We covered the situation in our live ticker.

Even on the new and smallest servers, there were at least 10,000 players waiting for a spot during prime time.

Currently, however, there are almost no queues left in Lost Ark.
