In Pokémon GO today, on January 17th, the Spotlight Hour with Samurzel starts. We will show you everything about Shinys, bonuses, and the times of the event.
What kind of event is this? Every Tuesday, a Spotlight Hour takes place in Pokémon GO. For 60 minutes, a specific Pokémon is in focus, and its spawns are significantly increased. There is also a bonus that can affect XP, Stardust, or Candy.
Today during the Spotlight Hour, you will encounter the Pokémon Samurzel and can utilize a bonus that grants you double experience points.
Spotlight Hour on January 17th – Start, Bonuses, Shiny
When does it start? The Spotlight Hour begins at the usual time at 6:00 PM local time. It will be active for one hour and will end at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are there? During the event, you will encounter Samurzel almost everywhere in the wild. The Pokémon is from the third generation and belongs to the Grass type. If you want to achieve even more spawns, you can also use incense during the event.
As an additional bonus, you will receive double the amount of XP for catching Pokémon.
This is the third Spotlight Hour in January. After Samurzel, you can expect two more events of this kind this month:
Can you catch Shiny Samurzel? Yes, the shiny version of Samurzel is available in Pokémon GO. The Pokémon had its Community Day in 2020, and you could already catch Shinys there. Keep in mind that the Shiny chances are not increased during a Spotlight Hour.
The Shiny family of Samurzel at a glance – Below are the Shinys
Is today’s Spotlight Hour worth it? Samurzel and its evolution Blanas are not particularly strong attackers. However, the final evolution, Tengulist, is very useful in various situations. In PvE raids, it is a cost-effective alternative to the best attackers. Especially new players can easily obtain a good attacker here.
In PvP, it can play almost at the top in the Hyper League and Super League. As an attacker with the types Grass and Dark, you have a good candidate here.
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
In Pokémon GO, the “Sparkling Fantasy” event has ended. In addition to the bonuses, one should especially take advantage of a Mega Evolution.
Update, January 18, 11:30 AM: The change has now been implemented. If you want to Mega evolve Salamence in Pokémon GO, it costs 300 energy now. Update, January 17, 12:45 PM: As of the current status, Salamence evolution is still possible for 200 energy. As soon as this changes, we will keep you updated here.
08:00 AM: The event has ended in Germany, but as of the current status, the required energy is still at 200. It is possible that the energy will only change once the event concludes in all time zones.
However, it is now always expected that the energy will increase to 300.
Here continues with the original message.
What is changing? Who currently wants to Mega evolve Salamence needs 200 Mega energy for this. But this will not stay the same.
Trainers, we are correcting the Mega energy needed for the Mega evolution of Salamence from 200 to 300 after the ‘Sparkling Fantasy’ event. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The event runs until this evening, January 16, 2023, at 10:00 PM local time. So if you want to pay less Mega energy for the evolution, you should carry out such an evolution today.
Why should I Mega evolve Salamence in time?
A user in the Pokémon GO subreddit warns that you should hurry with the first Mega evolution of Salamence (via reddit).
Mega Salamence will be more expensive
In general, Mega evolution lasts temporarily; however, the first Mega evolution of a Pokémon is crucial for two reasons. It is due to changes introduced in April 2022.
First: When you Mega evolve a Pokémon for the first time, a “cool down phase” of several days begins. After this phase, you can Mega evolve it again – without additional energy costs.
With each Mega evolution of the Pokémon, the Mega Level also increases and the cool down phases become shorter. Alternatively, you can also Mega evolve during the cool down phase. Depending on how advanced it already is, the energy costs will be lower.
Second: After the first Mega evolution, you have the opportunity to collect Mega energy while walking with your buddy.
Therefore, it is worthwhile to carry out the first Mega evolution of Salamence as cheaply as possible, because afterwards you do not need as much Mega energy. This is especially useful because Mega Raids can usually only be completed with many Trainers.
In general, Mega Salamence is only present in Mega Raids until January 18. Then it will be replaced by another Pokémon. There isn’t much time left to secure the strong dragon attacker anyway.
Pokémon GO held a total of 15 different Community Days for you in 2022. We at MeinMMO wanted to know from you which one was your favorite. Below we have summarized the results for you.
Which events are involved? In Pokémon GO, a so-called Community Day is held once a month. This focuses on a specific monster, which can then be found almost everywhere.
With an improved Shiny rate for the respective Pokémon, you also have a good chance of encountering a shiny specimen on such a day.
In 2022, the concept surrounding the Community Days was additionally expanded with three different Community Days Classic, which focused on monsters that already had their own C-Day. For this reason, you were able to participate in a total of 15 different events of this kind last year.
We therefore launched a survey and wanted to know from you which Community Day you liked the most in 2022.
The results of our survey on the best C-Day 2022
Which monsters were up for selection? Last year, as part of the Community Days and Community Day Classic, you could catch a variety of different monsters again.
Among them, the following 15 Pokémon of various types were available: Seemops, Bisasam, Hoppspross, Sandan & Alola-Sandan, Hydropi, Velursi, Alola-Kleinstein, Kapuno, Staralili, Galar-Zigzachs, Kiesling, Lichtel, Dratini, and Teddiursa.
In December, you also expected a two-day event where you could encounter all C-Day Pokémon from 2022 again, as well as the following Pokémon from the previous year: Machollo, Evoli, Roselia, Wablu, Zwirrlicht, Sheinux, Kaumalat, Serpifeu, Floink, Ottaro, and Dartiri.
This monster is your favorite: We wanted to know from you in the past two weeks which of the Community Days you liked best in 2022. As of today (January 15, 2022, 10:00 AM), a total of 657 trainers have participated in our survey.
You have clearly voted the Community Day with Kapuno in June as your favorite. You voted as follows:
Kapuno (Community Day June) with 301 votes, about 46%
Dratini (Community Day Classic November) with 84 votes, about 13%
Lichtel (Community Day October) with 80 votes, about 12%
Community Day December with all C-Day monsters from 2021 & 2022 with 57 votes, about 9%
Teddiursa (Community Day November) with 36 votes, about 5%
Galar-Zigzachs (Community Day August) with 30 votes, about 5%
Hydropi (Community Day Classic April) with 20 votes, about 3%
Velursi (Community Day April) with 14 votes, about 2%
Kiesling (Community Day September) with 12 votes, about 2%
Sandan & Alola-Sandan (Community Day March) with 8 votes, about 1%
Bisasam (Community Day Classic January) with 5 votes, about 1%
Seemops (Community Day January) with 4 votes, about 1%
Staralili (Community Day July) with 3 votes, less than 1%
Alola-Kleinstein (Community Day May) with 2 votes, less than 1%
Hoppspross (Community Day February) with one vote, less than 1%
Possible reasons why you chose Kapuno
Looking at the survey results, it quickly becomes clear that almost half of all participants voted for the Community Day with Kapuno. Following at a clear distance are the C-Day Classic with Dratini and the Community Day with Lichtel, which together account for about 25% of the votes. The remaining votes are distributed across all other monsters that were available for selection.
Why Kapuno is so interesting: Kapuno is a Dark and Dragon Pokémon. Like most dragons, it is not easy to obtain in the game outside of certain events, especially in its shiny form.
Moreover, the Pokémon has a strong evolution in Trikephalo, which belongs to the best attackers in Pokémon GO. Thus, it has high attack values and a strong moveset, making it essential as a Dark attacker in your team.
We have summarized more strong attackers for you in the following video:
Start video
Pokémon GO: The strongest attackers of all types in the video
Furthermore, the Community Day with Kapuno was a good opportunity to progress with the medals for the types Dark and Dragon. To receive these in platinum, you need to catch 2,500 specimens of the respective type.
What makes Dratini and Lichtel good?
Dratini: Although Dratini already had its own C-Day in the past, it was still able to score points with some of you during the C-Day Classic. This could be because, similar to Kapuno, it belongs to the Dragon type and also has a strong evolution.
Unlike other Dragon Pokémon, Dratini can occasionally be found in the game. Nevertheless, this monster also served as a good opportunity to advance the progress of the “Dragon Medal”.
Lichtel: Last year, Lichtel was another strong and popular monster that competed. It made its shiny debut in the game on this day, which numerous trainers had been waiting for.
Monsters with few votes: In contrast to Kapuno, Dratini, and Lichtel, other monsters like Hoppspross, Alola-Kleinstein, or Staralili hardly received any votes from you. This may be primarily because they can be found relatively frequently in the game and have become somewhat less interesting for many trainers. Thus, they might have been interesting mainly due to the shinies.
What do you think of the results of the survey? Was Kapuno also your best Community Day in 2022? If so, why did you make this choice? Or do you think another monster would have deserved this title better? Let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO and discuss this topic with other trainers.
There are indications that two popular game modes might soon return to CoD: Modern Warfare 2. Apparently, icons have surfaced in the game files that can be attributed to the modes “Plunder” and “Cranked”.
What happened? In recent days, a handful of screenshots circulated on Twitter. These images show game icons that the community quickly identified as “Plunder” and “Cranked”.
The screenshots were published by the Twitter account @BKTOOR, a CoD leaker who had made headlines during the time of Modern Warfare (2019). Back then, he was often right with his assumptions and could predict content accurately long before it was officially announced.
Are there any other hints? Yes, particularly interesting is that this new information aligns with leaks that caused a stir in the community last December. At that time, a YouTube video got players hoping for a comeback of the modes, showing a multiplayer map from Modern Warfare 2. Instead of the tooltips for ammunition depots, the icons, however, show the tooltip “Call in Cash Deposit Heli”. The “Cash Deposit Heli” was a core feature of the Plunder mode from WZ1.
While the mentioned YouTube video remains available, the latest screenshots from Twitter user BKTOOR have since been removed due to a copyright claim.
With CoD: MW2 came many gameplay innovations to the popular battle royale. You can find an overview here in the trailer.

CoD Modern Warfare 2: Important changes explained quickly – With gameplay
Comeback of “old” gameplay modes in Modern Warfare 2
What are these game modes? The “Plunder” mode was an alternative to the classic battle royale mode Warzone on the large map. The goal was to collect as much cash as possible in a match. Players had to loot, complete contracts, and steal money from opponents. The squad with the most cash won the match.
In this mode, players started with their loadout, and searching for suitable weapons was largely eliminated. Compared to Warzone, there was no Gulag: If players were eliminated, they could re-enter the game after a short countdown.
On the other hand, “Cranked” is a game mode for classic multiplayer, similar to Team Deathmatch. It provides fast-paced, action-packed gameplay. Whenever you get a kill, you receive a bonus to your movement speed, aiming, and reloading. If you don’t get another kill within 30 seconds, your operator explodes, and you lose the bonuses.
Are the old game modes coming back? This has not yet been confirmed. However, the community has been speculating for some time that additional game modes might come to Modern Warfare 2 with the new season. The Battle Pass of Season 1 ends in early February, and by then there will be official information about new content.
Regardless, large parts of the community want the old game modes back. Besides the Plunder mode, players are also repeatedly calling for a comeback of “Resurgence.” This mini-royale format usually played on the smaller maps Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep.
The Plunder mode, which is a bit more relaxed compared to battle royale, and the Resurgence mode on smaller maps seem to offer exactly this variety. MeinMMO reader Viktor Frankenstein feels similarly. In a comment, he explained why WZ2 is already “dead” for him:
For me, Warzone 2.0 is also ‘dead’ because there is no longer a Plunder mode, and also no Rebirth Island. Battle royale was and is simply a boring mode for me and my buddies, which is why we only played Plunder and Rebirth Island. We haven’t played Warzone 2.0 for a month now, and DMZ is unfortunately not as interesting and exciting as we initially hoped.
Now your opinion is requested? Do you think there is any truth to the rumors? Does Plunder still make sense now that there is DMZ? Which modes from earlier titles in the Call of Duty series would you like to see in MW2? Leave us a comment and discuss with the community!
Nvidia has presented an update for its software Broadcast. The software can now imitate your eyes incredibly realistically. This has various advantages and disadvantages.
Anyone who is in a video conference knows how difficult it is to maintain eye contact with their conversation partner. Because as soon as you read texts or look at the display where the other faces are visible, you are no longer looking directly at the camera. And immediately, the eye contact is lost.
Nvidia has now introduced a new feature for its “Broadcast” software. Nvidia calls this feature “Maxine Eye Contact.” Thanks to this feature, your counterpart in calls or video conferences always feels that you are looking directly into their eyes – even when you are looking at completely different things. How well this works is already demonstrated by initial tests.
Permanent eye contact, even when you’re looking elsewhere.
Who is this for? Nvidia has been offering a Broadcast app for some time. This is software that provides AI-optimized voice and video transmission. The new eye contact feature is especially intended for “content creators who want to record themselves while reading their notes or a script.”
Here, the user’s gaze is directed to the camera using AI. This happens all in real-time, without you or the viewer noticing anything.
This could mean in the future that you are being looked at the whole time in a video from your favorite streamer – even when they are reading their text or looking at their monitor. In this way, the video feels much more direct. Because eye contact radiates trust and credibility.
What do I need for this? Anyone who wants to use Nvidia Broadcast or the new “Maxine Eye Contact” feature must have an Nvidia graphics card with Tensor Cores. These are the AI computing units. Nvidia’s minimum requirement is therefore at least a GeForce RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, TITAN RTX, or a similar graphics card. AMD graphics cards or older Nvidia GPUs cannot benefit from this.
You can see how this works in the official Nvidia video:

If you are looking for more exciting or strange technology, then take a look at the following VR gloves that a developer built. For under 20 euros, you can build the gloves yourself and play well-known VR games:
Jak’Sho, the Protean, is still new to League of Legends, but is already one of the most popular items. Players have now discovered a secret, albeit deadly, interaction with the item – and are puzzled about how to trigger it.
What kind of item is this? Jak’Sho, the Protean, was introduced in patch 12.22 on November 16, 2022. It is a defensive item that increases health points and defense values and brings a unique effect.
The longer you are in combat, the stronger the item becomes. Once the enhancement reaches its maximum stacks, the armor explodes, dealing damage to surrounding enemies and healing you. The item has already had to be nerfed, which has made some champions in the new Season 13 stronger now.
From the story perspective, Jak’Sho is actually a living armor that connects with its “buyer.” This also reflects at the end of a round if you are lucky – or unlucky.
What does Jak’Sho do? As soon as you win a round, it can happen that the message appears in the chat: “Jak’Sho deems you worthy and absorbs your power.” Afterwards, your character dies, as a short clip shows:

The effect does not really impact the game, as you only die after the actual game. Tasks that require you to finish a game without deaths are not affected by this.
Nevertheless, the interaction has captured the curiosity of players. They are now puzzling over how to become “worthy” – and what that could mean.
Additionally, some lore fans are now wondering if the Easter egg might have a deeper meaning. Because the story behind the item allows for several possible connections to be made.
LoL Season 2023: The Cinematic “The Brink of Infinity”
One possibility could be that a new event is on the horizon that somehow relates to the void from which Jak’Sho originates. However, that seems rather unrealistic. The other possibility is a connection with the champion Kai’Sa.
Kai’Sa has herself entered into a symbiosis with a living armor from the void, similar to Jak’Sho, only she is not being consumed by it. Not yet, at least.
However, you will probably have to wait some time for a clarification of the question, if there is any, as Riot currently seems to have some issues that need to be clarified:
A company has introduced a special microphone. The device is worn directly over your mouth. This is supposed to prevent others from hearing your speech.
Do you love to shout or make noise while gaming and then have parents, friends, or neighbors at your door complaining about the noise? That could soon change.
Because the company Shiftall has introduced the microphone “mutalk”. You wear it directly over your mouth and it is meant to make it harder for others to hear your voice. MeinMMO presents this strange device.
Microphone is strapped over the mouth and is supposed to swallow sounds
What kind of device is it? “mutalk” has been introduced by Shiftall as a soundproof Bluetooth microphone, “which makes it difficult for others to hear your voice, while also preventing ambient noise from entering the microphone.”
The manufacturer explains that the device has been developed for situations like offices or gaming (via shiftall.net). Because soundproof boxes or wall insulation cost a lot of money. The manufacturer states: “The soundproof Bluetooth microphone ‘mutalk’ is an affordable and space-saving solution for this problem.”
How does the device work? Mutalk is worn directly over the mouth and secured with straps around the head. This way your hands are free. Additionally, headphones can be connected to the device.

What is the price of the device and when will it be released? The price is not yet known. Mutalk is supposed to be officially available on the market in 2023, but Shiftall has not yet provided a specific date.
Mutalk is not the first microphone of its kind on the market
With the device Hushme Classic, there is already a microphone that is also worn over the mouth, just like mutalk. Hushme Classic also features a wireless connection and the ability to connect your own headphones. Furthermore, the Hushme model is supposed to offer 10 hours of battery life, which is somewhat more than mutalk.

Lost Ark has been struggling with massive bot issues since the release of the MMORPG. However, the current wave of bans has also caught real players and left a nasty mark on their Steam profiles.
Recently, around 200,000 accounts were banned in Lost Ark, which were believed to be bots. Publisher Amazon claims they have “applied new, effective tactics” to combat the bot problem in Lost Ark.
Former Lost Ark players on Steam noticed that a problem occurred with these “tactics”: they received a notification that they had been banned. Moreover, their profiles now display “1 game exclusion” in red text – a mark used for banned cheaters.
A nasty mark on the profile.
Many who played Lost Ark at the release in early 2022 but haven’t started it again have been wrongly banned.
Developers respond to accidental bans
In the Lost Ark forum, the developers commented on the accidental bans. They state that they found the problem that was responsible for the bans of real players.
The erroneous bans are said to have been reversed, both on Steam and in-game. Those who continue to have problems can contact the customer service of the MMORPG. They also promise that the ban has no consequences.
However, when looking at some Steam profiles, it is noticeable that the mark still appears in the profile. Amazon and Smilegate have not provided any concrete information on this yet.
It is possible to contest the “game exclusion” mark in the profile. Whether it will be removed for players who were accidentally banned is currently unclear.
Banned players are reacting angrily, which can be seen in the recent reviews on Steam. Of the reviews in the last 30 days, 72% are currently negative – mostly due to the ban wave:
dublehuble: “Why are you imposing a ban that appears on my profile just because I don’t play the game? LMAO?”
Demi-Goat: “Not only did they ban me, they used Steam’s anti-cheat system to impose the ban. This means Steam brands you as a cheater if you were banned by the system. Absolutely unacceptable. I even bought the Vanquisher Pack at launch.”
KingTut: “Looks like you have to play the game to avoid being banned.”
EinarOfBC: “I played for a few hours, it wasn’t my thing. Then, months later, I get permanently banned out of nowhere?”
The overall review of Lost Ark is still “mostly positive”. However, the MMORPG has become quite unpopular among some Steam users.
What do you think about this? Are you also affected? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO!
In Call of Duty: Warzone 2 there is currently a simple trick that can bring you easy victories in the Gulag. But it also carries some risk.
In Call of Duty: Warzone 2, the Gulag is back, which many players should recognize from the first game. In the prison, players who have died in the shooter’s “Battle Royale” mode fight for a chance to come back. Those who successfully emerge from the fight can rejoin their teammates in the war zone.
Unlike the first Warzone, in Warzone 2 you will not participate in 1v1 battles, but must prove yourselves in a 2v2. This makes returning more complicated, as teamwork with a sometimes random teammate is required. A trick can now simplify your return.
Start video
3 mistakes in CoD Warzone 2 that you should definitely avoid
What is this trick? The trick is not a glitch or another unfair action. Instead, you take advantage of your character’s climbing capabilities and the map’s layout to reach a higher position from which you can oversee a large part of the battlefield.
From there, you can catch important information about the positions and movement paths of your opponents, give callouts, and fire at the enemy. You may even score a kill or at least serve as a great distraction.
How does the trick work? At the start of a Gulag round, you need to run a few meters straight ahead and then throw a smoke grenade in front of you onto the ground. This should bounce off the ground and jump over the wooden stacks in front of you. The area around the stacks must then be shrouded in smoke.
Next, climb onto the aforementioned wooden stacks that are located in the center in front of the spawn area and are covered by your smoke. From there, you can then climb right onto a horizontal beam where you can move freely.
We will embed a 31-second YouTube video here where you can see the trick and its execution in practice:

What risk are you taking? The risk with the trick is that you are sitting on the beam like on a platter. You can see a lot from there, but you can also be seen – especially when the smoke from the smoke grenade dissipates.
If your opponents know the position as well, they may expect you there and shoot you early. Since you have no cover on the beam, you need to be careful to leave the position when it gets too risky.
What do players say who have tested the trick? The trick has also made it onto TikTok, where player AceNsight writes: “They don’t see you most of the time!” In the comments, he further explains: “In about 15 Gulags or even more that I’ve done this, I was only seen 2 or 3 times.”
The TikTok user Connor Wallace has also tested the trick and reports: “I tried it once and now I do nothing else, it works every time.”
However, there are also players who say they are happy when their opponents climb onto the beam. As soon as the smoke grenade goes off at that spot, they know what’s up and can prepare for their opponent’s attempt.
If you find the trick too risky, MeinMMO author Christos Tsogos has 3 tips for you on how to come out of the Gulag alive:
The FIFA community has noticed a feature in the Pro Clubs mode of FIFA 23 that shouldn’t actually exist. Can you soon play Pro Clubs across platforms?
When EA announced crossplay ahead of the release of FIFA 23, the community was initially excited. But as the release date approached and the development studio confirmed that there would be no crossplay for the popular Pro Clubs mode, many FIFA players were disappointed and even wrote an open letter.
However, now, nearly 3 months after the release, the community has found the first hints of crossplay in Pro Clubs.
What the community has discovered: The reddit user WoodsDuck posted a picture (via reddit) that shows the members of a club in Pro Clubs. The special thing: In addition to the names of the players, the symbols of various platforms are visible. Exactly the symbols that are already known from the crossplay of other FIFA modes.

This means that a FIFA player has discovered a feature that actually doesn’t exist in FIFA 23 Pro Clubs. Normally, only players from the same platform can join a Pro Club.
But there is a problem: You cannot currently play Pro Clubs with other platforms. As WoodsDuck confirms in the same thread, an error message appears when trying to play together. The feature does not seem to be activated yet.
Is this a bug or a feature? You can’t rule out that this is just a bug. But it could very well be a test by EA to prepare for crossplay in Pro Clubs.
A practice that the development studio has often applied in recent years for new features. Furthermore, EA commented on the crossplay debate in August 2022 (via GamePro) and promised that the feature will come. Whether in FIFA 23 or only in the upcoming FIFA successor EA Sports FC was still open at that time.
Now it looks like crossplay in FIFA 23 Pro Clubs could happen very quickly.
What do you think about it? Would you be happy about crossplay in Pro Clubs? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
In Pokémon GO the Hoenn tour is coming up in February – once in Las Vegas, once worldwide. For the latter, the research ticket has now been announced. However, trainers are puzzled by the missing bonuses.
This is the Hoenn tour: The Hoenn tour will be a major event in February that highlights Pokémon from Generation 3. Among other things, new versions of Kyogre and Groudon will be introduced. In the past, there have been similar “tours” for the regions Kanto and Johto as a worldwide event.
This has now been presented: For the second date, meaning the global event, it was announced on January 13 that a ticket for the “Masterwork Research: Fulfilled Wish” can be purchased. Here, players will need to solve difficult tasks and will have a chance to encounter Shiny-Jirachi.

The ticket is expected to cost $4.99 (or the equivalent price in the local currency) and will be available from February 20 to March 20.
This ticket only includes the Masterwork Research with Jirachi – and currently, no other bonuses are available. This raises question marks among some trainers.
Trainers wish for improved Shiny chance – but currently, it is missing
This surprises trainers: For the on-site event in Las Vegas, a “big” event ticket for $30 and add-ons have already been announced. However, for the “global” event, so far only the separate ticket for the Jirachi research is available.
Additionally, for the “worldwide” event, the special research “Legends Hunt” as well as various spawns and raids have been announced. What is still missing, however, are details on additional event content and especially increased Shiny chances that trainers are hoping for.
The official announcement even makes a clear distinction. It states: “At the live event in Las Vegas, ticket holders have a higher chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon. However, acquiring a ticket does not guarantee encounters with Shiny Pokémon” (via pokemongolive.com).
As it stands, there appear to be more bonuses for the on-site event than for the global event. This is puzzling some trainers in various threads who are exchanging thoughts on the Pokémon GO subreddit “TheSilphRoad.” Some examples:

“If there are no other bonuses and no enhanced global Shinies, this whole thing is probably pointless. There are only a few new Shinies for Hoenn right now since the regionals are locked behind 10k eggs, so a chance of 1 in 500 Shinies doesn’t get me out of the house. I’ll just do some proto-raids as long as they allow remote raids” (via reddit)
“$5 for Shiny-Jirachi? I think it’s better than $8 for a non-Shiny-Keldeo… But I’m really surprised they aren’t releasing a ticket to increase Shiny odds,” comments user “MysticalTh0r” in another thread (via reddit).
“I had so much fun with the past GO Tours, hopefully, they have a few more announcements for the global tour. It would be so disappointing (for those of us who can’t afford it) if they only do all future tours in-person and the global version gets these “lite” versions…” comments another user (via reddit).
“Man, I wish they would keep the GO Tour events exclusively global; now this event is just going to become a GO Fest clone for the next few years. At least give ticket buyers the “global, increased chance” (not the crazy, increased odds at in-person events) (via reddit).
How the event will ultimately shape up remains to be seen. It is possible that more event content will be announced as the Hoenn Tour approaches. However, this is currently completely open. As it stands, it seems there is no “big” ticket for the global tour.
How was it last year? The Johto tour was held as a global event worldwide. Back then, there was a ticket for a total of 12 euros in the shop, which provided all event content.

What kind of content do you like the most in MMOs and MMORPGs? Let us know in this survey if you are a PvP or PvE player
MMOs thrive on having as many players as possible, and to achieve that, they offer their fans various types of content. This content can usually be roughly divided into two main areas: PvP and PvE.
What players like about PvE: In PvE (Player versus Environment) usually refers to the content where the player faces the challenges of the game alone or in a group.
Classically, this includes endgame monster hunting in the open world, dungeons, and raids at various difficulty levels and similar activities. Especially the often spectacularly staged boss fights have become essential in many modern MMORPGs.
They provide epic moments when the boss finally goes down after many attempts and give players a strong sense of cooperation and belonging as a team. Of course, a big reward awaits at the end in the form of cool gear or stylish cosmetic items like mounts.

What players like about PvP: In PvP (Player versus Player), on the other hand, it is about competing with other players. This includes everything where you can beat each other up: Whether in an arena, in the open world, or during epic sieges and in the battle for control over areas.
PvP fans enjoy the competitive aspect and the fact that they have real people as opponents. No matter how smart a monster AI can be in an MMORPG, it does not provide the same challenge as an experienced PvP player.
Unrestricted PvP in the open world also offers excitement, as you never know what awaits you behind the next bush. You always have to be on your guard because carelessness leads to death.
This is how you can vote: In the survey tool below, you can let us know whether you are more of a PvE or a PvP player. Everyone can only vote once, and the decision cannot be undone.
Tell us: What content do you prefer in MMOs? Do you play PvP and PvE content equally often, or do you have a strong tendency in a particular direction? Why do you like or dislike the content? Is it a deal-breaker for you if an MMO completely lacks PvP or PvE?
Streamer Christeena “clbpsyduck” was streaming on Twitch with no viewers when someone suddenly appeared in her chat and talked about his bad day. She tried to cheer him up, and her kindness went viral.
Who is this streamer? clbpsyduck (twitch.tv/clbpsyduck) is a streamer from the USA who mainly creates content for the RPG Tower of Fantasy. According to her profile, she is in her mid-20s. She has been streaming on Twitch since December 2020 but has averaged only single-digit viewer numbers (via sullygnome).
However, that changed when she wanted to make a viewer happy.

Twitch: One of the most popular clips shows a super sweet scare moment
Streamer wants to make lonely viewer happy
What did the streamer do? At the end of December 2022, she was streaming completely without viewers when an unknown person appeared in her chat. clbpsyduck chatted with him and talked about her health problems: she has a severe spinal curvature and uses a walker in her daily life. She also admitted to earning nothing from streaming.
The viewer then mentioned that he was having a pretty bad day: It was his birthday, but no one had congratulated him. The streamer wanted to change that and started singing “Happy Birthday”.
What about the viewer? The unknown person thanked her with a donation of 100 US dollars and also gifted numerous subs to clbpsyduck’s channel. She was so moved that she had to apologize for a moment to manage her emotions.
Because what she didn’t know: Her viewer had made it his mission to spread kindness on the internet. On TikTok, he shares streamers with no viewers and shows why they deserve more attention.
A clip shows the streamer singing Happy Birthday together with her viewer:

At that time, however, she had already been inactive on Twitch for several days. Upon her return on January 12, she was greeted by a well-filled chat. The stream averaged 272 viewers, and the next day there were even 329 present.
karvetv, the TikToker who shared her story, posted an update on his account. It appears that clbpsyduck earned nearly 1,000 $ from subscriptions and donations during her stream on January 12.
How are the reactions? In the comments on TikTok, numerous viewers report how moved they are by the action. This is exactly the right way to use the internet and its reach for something good.
TikTok is currently proving to be a useful medium for smaller streamers, as particularly touching clips go viral there:
“Death Road to Canada,” an action RPG on Steam, takes you on a crazy road trip. In it, you deal with zombie hordes and take care of the survival of your group. The game is still on sale for only €4 until this evening. Players praise the roguelike as a nice game for a break and rate it 93% positive.
What kind of game is Death Road to Canada? The game is an action roguelike where you embark on a road trip, take out zombies, and collect plenty of loot. The game is designed in pixel art and does not take itself too seriously at times.
You drive with your group through a post-apocalyptic America, with the goal of reaching Canada and thus the last zombie-free zone.
The game is verified for the Steam Deck and works very well there.
Here you can see a trailer for Death Road to Canada:

Death Road to Canada: Life on the Death Road Trailer
What is the gameplay like in Death Road to Canada ? In the game, you not only take care of one character but manage a whole car full of misfits. You can customize the characters in the creator.
The journey begins in Florida. On your way, you explore various cities, recruit new members for your group, and defend yourself against zombie hordes. But you can also run away from them because you have to keep in mind: Up to 500 zombies might be after you at the same time and death in the game is permanent.
Of course, you are not defenseless. Look for weapons that you can use to slaughter the zombies. You also have the option to make your character so strong that you can throw sofas at the undead.
You will have to make many different decisions in Death Road to Canada. The game presents you with interactive text events. Depending on the character traits your figures have, the outcomes will vary.
The events, character traits, and locations are randomly generated. This makes each run unique, and you can play the game multiple times without playing the same thing twice.
Death Road to Canada also has a coop mode with split screen, so you can embark on the journey to Canada with your friends. Up to 4 players can play together.
A note: German is not supported in the game. You can currently only play Death Road to Canada in English.

Even with a disability and a lot of willpower, one can achieve great things in World of Warcraft. A player shares how he lost a finger – and still rocks in “Mythic+”.
In the WoW Subreddit, the player Sieneis proudly shared a picture of his left hand and the World of Warcraft screen. Two things can be seen: He achieved a score of over 2,000 points in “Mythic+” – and he only has 4 fingers on his left hand. He lost his ring finger due to a “stupidity,” but that didn’t stop him from reaching his goals. Thus, he also titled the post:
“A few months ago, I had an accident and my ring finger was torn off. Today, I have achieved KSM [Keystone Master] with my disability. I am proud of myself and just wanted to share this.”
How did the accident happen? In the Reddit post, Sieneis addresses many questions from the community and also explains how he lost his ring finger. He explains:
My accident happened when I was dumb enough to climb over a fence. The ring got caught as I came down and you can probably guess the rest. The physical pain was terrible, but what hurt me the most was seeing my finger separated from my hand. (…) The doctors told me they could try to reattach my finger, but there was only a very small chance that it would work again. They advised against it and I agreed. No regrets.
Even months later, it is still unusual for Sieneis to play with one finger less. He often tries to use the missing finger, which leads to minor problems while playing:
I still sometimes try to use my lost finger to press keys and that leads to some problems. It messes up my rotation, and I get confused for a while, essentially only doing automatic attacks and trying to get my mind back in order. This usually happens when it gets particularly intense. My priority then is not to die instead of trying to do even more damage.

What kind of achievement is this? For the achievement “Keystone Master”, one must successfully tackle “Mythic+” dungeons in World of Warcraft. To achieve a score of 2,000 points – which corresponds to the achievement – all current dungeons must be completed on average at level 15 within the time limit. However, one can vary a bit and complete one dungeon at level 16 while only mastering another at 14.
Anyone doubting the story and thinking that the picture has been manipulated will find further images shortly after the accident in the thread – but those are not for everyone and show the hand shortly after the wound was stitched up.
The community celebrates the achievement, making many jokes: In the WoW community, the story is very well received. In the subreddit, the story is rewarded with many upvotes – at the time of the article’s publication (11:30 AM), there are 10,900 upvotes in less than 24 hours. Many also respond humorously to the picture:
“You may have one less ring slot, but still congrats!”
“The perfect hand for a Fury Warrior.”
“Many DPS characters I play with seem to also have your condition and have mapped their interrupt skill to the key your ring finger would press.”
In the end, it is a tragic yet beautiful story from gaming, where people can achieve their goals despite disabilities.

Owners of WoW: Dragonflight receive a cool bonus in Patch 10.0.5 – promising more cool transmog.
Blizzard is apparently trying to make the purchase of the latest expansion “Dragonflight” more appealing to undecided players. For this purpose, they announce a new bonus on the purchase of Dragonflight, which can only be redeemed in Patch 10.0.5. Additional currency awaits all buyers.
What kind of bonus is this? Blizzard has announced that all buyers of Dragonflight can soon claim a bonus of 500 trader’s currencies when Patch 10.0.5 goes live on January 25.
The bonus will also be credited retroactively. If you already own Dragonflight, you can – just like all new buyers – collect it at the trading post in Orgrimmar or Stormwind when Patch 10.0.5 starts.
What does the bonus bring? 500 trader’s currencies are a decent boost and should ensure that you can get one or even two items right at the start of the feature. If you accumulate a bit more currency, you can even buy one of the expensive rewards for 1,000 currencies within the first month.
At the trading post, there are plenty of cosmetic rewards.
Trader’s currencies are available at the beginning of each month if you have an active WoW subscription. Additionally, you can earn trader’s currencies every month by completing special quests for the trading post – ranging from explorations to dungeon visits or completing achievements. There is a wide range for all player types.
However, note that the values of the costs of various rewards on the PTR are not necessarily final. Therefore, what you can get for the trader’s currencies could change by the release of Patch 10.0.5.
Fans are concerned about the success of Dragonflight: Although most players are happy about the bonus, there is also some concern in the community. Some fear that Dragonflight – despite being well received by active players – was not a great commercial success. This is supported by some special offers, such as an early free trial period for the ‘Caller’, a change to the “Refer a Friend” system, and now also the bonus when purchasing Dragonflight.
All these additional incentives create the fear that Blizzard wants to boost the sales of Dragonflight because it has not sold as well as expected – but this is currently just a suspicion.
Presumably, Blizzard’s financial figures at the end of the next quarter will provide more information.

With the AOC AGM600, the manufacturer of the same name has launched a gaming mouse on the market. Its design and features strongly resemble popular mice like the Logitech G502 Hero or the Kone XP from Roccat. MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann has tested the mouse and reveals why it could be worth considering.
AOC is primarily known for its monitors, but the manufacturer now also has mice, headsets, and keyboards in its portfolio. The latest addition is the AGM600, a multifunctional gaming mouse that appears suitable for various genres on paper.
In a test, I tried out the model and compared it with the most well-known competitors. You can read how the AOC gaming mouse performs in my review.
Who tested it?
I have a passion for gaming mice and I now own over 20 gaming mice privately. Since 2019, I have been testing hardware for MeinMMO for our readers. Mice are among my absolute favorites when it comes to peripherals for PC and console, along with gaming headsets and keyboards, and I am quite knowledgeable about them.
AOC provided me with the AGM600 for testing.

Included items, design, and structure
What does the package include? In addition to the mouse, there is also a manual included with the mouse. The cable is permanently attached to the mouse and cannot be removed. There are no additional accessories.
How is the mouse structured? The AGM600 comes in a black design:
On the top side of the mouse are the main buttons. In between, there is a 2-way scroll wheel and above it, 2 buttons. On the edge of the left mouse button, there are two small switches that you can reach with your index finger.
On the left side, there are 3 additional buttons. In the thumb area, 2 buttons are closely arranged, and the third button is a so-called sniper button.
Both the thumb rest and parts of the mouse body are ribbed and offer better grip.
The mouse also offers subtle RGB lighting effects. The manufacturer’s logo lights up on the back of the mouse, and the edge of the mouse is unevenly illuminated. The rest of the mouse remains black.
Build quality
The mouse feels pleasantly robust, which may also be due to its high weight of 115 grams. In the shake test, nothing rattles on the mouse, all buttons are firm, and the scroll wheel also remains in place. There is no creaking or cracking when applying light pressure to the mouse body.
The mouse cable is somewhat stiff overall and slightly bothersome on the desk. However, with its 1.8 m length, it is sufficiently long. The mouse feet are quite thin, but large enough that I don’t notice wear as much. After use, the scroll wheel slightly squeaks when turning.
Software
The mouse uses AOC’s software suite “G-Menu”. And G-Menu is exemplary when it comes to clarity and structure:
All functions are directly accessible.
There is no integrated shop or large advertisements.
Profiles can be quickly switched.
The design of the software is kept subtle, without being intrusive.
G-Menu from AOC: Clear and in German. This is how software should look.
While there is an option to use profiles from other players, it remains pleasantly in the background and is never intrusive. The software is fully in German.
On the next page, I will discuss the weight, ergonomics, buttons, and the sensor of the gaming mouse.

The MMORPG Albion Online is one of the games that features “Full Loot PvP.” A graph of player numbers shows that this PvP is well-attended and popular.
So popular is the PvP in Albion: In the isometric MMORPG Albion Online, there are PvP areas where the “Full Loot” rule applies. This means that players drop their items and equipment upon death, which can then be picked up by others.
In this way, it can happen that players permanently lose many valuable items due to their own carelessness or simply bad luck. Nevertheless, the prospect of loss does not deter fans of Albion Online, as it also means they can make significant profits.
Accordingly, many of them spend their time in the PvP areas of Albion. This is evidenced by a graphic posted by the shoutcaster and host of the MMORPG, Robinhoodrs, on his Twitter:

The graphic shows the number of weekly participants in the PvP activities in Albion. It depicts a steadily rising curve that currently has settled at around 115,000 active players per week.
Robin also points out that this number only represents the amount of PvP fans. However, there are also users who engage with other content of Albion and have nothing to do with PvP. The actual player count is therefore higher.
The MMORPG YouTuber TheLazyPeon estimated that Albion has about 60,000 to 120,000 active players daily, a figure that Robin deemed a correct estimate.

The German MMORPG Albion Online shows upcoming content – players say: „Great news for solo players“
“There is a high demand for Full Loot PvP MMOs”
These reactions exist: In the dedicated MMORPG subreddit, the graphic from Albion sparked a lengthy discussion. In nearly 700 comments, users talked about how popular sandbox games with full loot really are.
For fans of Full Loot PvP, the increasing graph from Albion is proof that this type of MMORPG can indeed be successful when the corresponding systems are implemented correctly and well.
For being an isometric top-down game with cartoon graphics, it shows that there is a high demand for Full Loot PvP MMOs. Whether you like it or not. These numbers would be much higher if any major AAA studio had released a somewhat decent game. Even Mortal Online 2 has sold more than 100,000 copies […].
“Albion is not even a PvP game with Full Loot, which makes it enjoyable. There is no camping in newbie areas, it initially presents PvP without risk, […] it has fun PvE and PvPvE content.” – ItWasDumblydore
“[…] It turns out that people like PvP MMOs when they are implemented correctly. […] People want PvP in MMOs because it is fun to have an explorable world where you never know what might happen next. That, or in an arena format, while still having all the other systems that exist in MMOs. […]” – JoeBambasDayOff
Some PvP fans also note that the lack of PvP pressure, especially in beginner areas, contributes significantly to the popularity of the MMORPG.
Other users in the thread point out that Albion released a free mobile version in 2022. This caused the player numbers to soar drastically.
The users argue that the accessibility of Albion Online as a Free2Play game on mobile devices is responsible for the increase in player numbers. Full Loot PvP would still be just a niche, and most MMORPG fans would be rather averse to it.
The reason is rather that the game is F2P and has low requirements. You can play it for free on your smartphone. There are a bunch of people from low-income countries playing it. […]
“There isn’t really much demand for it. Full Loot PvP is a niche market that has been occupied by EVE […] and Lineage or Ultima. […] Albion is steadily pushing into that fantasy section, but only because they focus on accessibility […]” – BastK4T
“[…] The majority of people hate the system nevertheless. Personally, I’ve never considered a Full Loot PvP game. I can barely tolerate PvP in most MMOs […]” – Thulack
Regardless, Albion currently seems to be doing very well, and the next big updates are already on the horizon, promising more fun for solo players.
The MeinMMO author Mark Sellner has also tried Albion:
The MOBA League of Legends is played worldwide, but the best server is considered to be in South Korea: Players from all over the world flock to the South Korean server to compete against top players of the LCK like Faker. But Riot Games is putting a stop to this in 2023: They are mercilessly banning players from the server, even South Korean superstars like ‘The Shy.’
Why is the South Korean server considered the best server for LoL?
The level at which League of Legends is played worldwide is extremely varied. Especially in the USA, players constantly complain that even at high levels, the games in solo queue are too weak because many players make mistakes, leading to a significant disadvantage when playing in North America.
LoL stages its biggest professionals in a trailer so perfectly that I still get goosebumps 4 years later
Bets on solo queue games are rampant, becoming a problem
This is the problem: In LoL, just like in Valorant, troubles are brewing: People have started placing bets on the outcomes of solo queue games, especially when professional and star players are involved in the match.
This leads to game manipulation and hinders professionals from training properly.
Riot Games has therefore issued a strict new rule: Anyone who does not live in South Korea will be permanently banned from the South Korean server.
Riot kicks out every professional from solo-Q in South Korea who does not live in South Korea
These are the consequences: Riot Games takes this banning wave so seriously that even the South Korean star player Kang ‘TheShy’ Seung-lok has now been banned, a former world champion.
Although TheShy is from South Korea and was born there, he continued his career in the Chinese LPL. Although he was a big name in the South Korean solo queue and grew up in South Korea, he has now been permanently banned from the server, as seen in a live clip where he tries to reconnect to the servers.
Other South Koreans playing in China, like Ruler, are also affected by the ban.

In gaming, known titles and classics are often used by developers as inspiration for their own games. It is either the graphics, the setting, or the way of storytelling. Destiny 2 is also often used as a source of inspiration, but one studio may have taken it a bit too far.
Which game is being referred to? The title that has taken a lot of inspiration is Luna Abyss, which is set to be released for the PS5, Xbox One, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. It is a creepy first-person shooter in single-player mode. In this, you play as a prisoner condemned to explore an abandoned artificial moon that holds many secrets.
The developers are Bonsai Collective, a relatively new team founded in 2019. Luna Abyss is thus their first title.
To give you an idea of how much Luna Abyss took inspiration, we embed a trailer of the shooter here:

Luna Abyss – Announcement Trailer
Destiny streamers are impressed:Aztecross, a long-time Destiny streamer, has taken notice of the game and can hardly hold back in making comparisons to Bungie’s loot shooters.
A red traveler, Vex portals, and even Nessus are involved
What does Aztecross say about Luna Abyss? While Aztecross watched the trailer for Luna Abyss, he couldn’t help but smile and shake his head. He draws various comparisons with components from Destiny 2:
The moon appears in the trailer like the traveler, only in red
Doors in Luna Abyss have the same design as Vex portals
Even Sepiks Prime has made it as an enemy in the single-player shooter
Last but not least, the notorious Vex laser traps have been implemented into the game
The traveler is not only available in redAn environment that strongly resembles NessusThe distinctive, blue glowing triangles of the VexThe laser traps that the Vex love to useThe SIVA replication chamber from Destiny 1, only this time roundServitors like Sepiks Prime are also presentAll the mentioned points strongly resemble Destiny 1 & 2
While Aztecross cannot yet assess the game himself, he still finds it very interesting. The first-person shooter is creepier compared to Destiny 2 and features interesting environments and a red traveler, according to the streamer. He finds it definitely cool and will likely try it himself.
Luna Abyss – A creepy and mysterious shooter
What is Luna Abyss about? In the FPS by Bonsai Collective, you play as a prisoner who, as mentioned, has been sentenced to explore an artificial moon. However, the moon is not barren and empty but contains huge monuments and abandoned ruins within.
The interior of the moon is called “Abyss,” and your task is to penetrate these depths, recover lost technology, and find a lost colony. However, be aware that you are always watched by a prison warden named “Aylin.”
As you embark on the journey into the moon’s interior, you will experience ghostly echoes haunting the ruins of the celestial body. These tell you the dreadful fate of the moon.
You explore the world with your feet and do so by running, jumping, or even dashing. Enemies like cursed souls and bizarre figures will encounter you, so there are all kinds of weapons you can use for defense on your travels.
When will Luna Abyss be released? So far, no release date has been announced. According to the PlayStation Store, however, the shooter will be “coming soon.” So, it could be that Luna Abyss will be released in the coming months.
Can I pre-order Luna Abyss? No, the title cannot be pre-ordered in the Epic Games Store, nor on Steam or the PlayStation. It is also unknown whether the single-player shooter will even offer a pre-order option.
What do you think of this creepy FPS that is heavily inspired by Destiny 2 from the new developers of Bonsai Collective? Do you find it interesting and do you also feel a familiar sensation upon seeing it due to the striking similarity? Let us know if you would even try out this Destiny copy!
