There are new changes coming to the PTR for Overwatch . They strengthen Winston and weaken Roadhog. We have the Overwatch PTR Patch Notes 1.8 for you.
On the night from Thursday to Friday, Blizzard announced changes in Overwatch that will soon come to the PTR with the next build. PC players can already test the changes that Blizzard is planning for Overwatch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on the PTR.

The hook from Roadhog is supposed to be weakened again; that was already a never-ending story in the last patches of 1.7 – it seems that this will be the same with 1.8:
- The cooldown increases from 6 to 8 – Roadhog will be able to use the hook less frequently
- Targets will be pulled from 3.5 meters away from Roadhog, currently it is only 2 meters – the enemies will no longer stand directly in front of him when he hooks them
- The spread of his shotgun will be reduced by 20% – this is supposed to help him hit something even when the opponent is not standing directly in front of him
As a result, Roadhog’s hook is supposed to be weakened, no longer serving enemies on a silver platter. In return, his shotgun is improved a bit when he doesn’t strike with the hook.
The ape Winston receives a 15% reduced critical hit volume, making it 15% harder to hit critically. His head was simply too big, and as a result, he took too much damage compared to other heroes, says Geoff Goodman, the Principal Designer of Overwatch. This change is meant to balance that out.
The next patch is also supposed to bring numerous changes beyond hero balance. Players are currently experimenting with the new “Custom Games” in Overwatch .
