The cars on the new map of Overwatch are well received by players. So much so that there is now a wish for a “Killcam” for them.
In Overwatch, heroes can basically be killed by two things: enemy players and large abysses. With the new map “Oasis”, Blizzard adds another obstacle to the game world. Right next to the location, a highway runs by, bustling with activity. Anyone who takes an uncareful step onto the road – and doesn’t dodge – will quickly find themselves on the asphalt and respawn 10 seconds later.
Fans like the new obstacle so much that on Reddit, they immediately demanded a Killcam for deaths caused by cars, meaning: Whoever gets run over by a car should be able to “admire” their death from the driver’s perspective. Within a short time, the post has gathered over 3500 upvotes and brought forth even more ideas. If a car gets multiple kills in a row, it should also get the “Play of the Game”. In the “Highlight” animation, you can see the driver getting into the car leisurely.
What do you think of these suggestions? Would that be a funny detail or too macabre?
Cortyn says: I must confess that at first I thought, “Wow, that would be a bit macabre” and in the next moment immediately changed my mind. The whole game is full of things that are actually “macabre”, but entertaining in the context of Overwatch. When characters have a “Killstreak”, they say things like “I’m on a roll” or a cute “Sorry, sorry,” as if Mei just dropped a waffle with ice cream and not Mercy shot an icicle between the eyes.
Therefore: I would find it extremely funny. Blizzard, pls.
