General, interesting info about Outriders
This is how many hours the full game is expected to occupy you: Outriders has a story campaign that according to the official website will provide about 30 hours of gameplay, as long as you focus on a single character and the story.
If you complete side missions and also play different classes, the extent is expected to double, to around 60 hours.
After that, you can expect extensive endgame content with expeditions and 15 difficulty levels (World Tiers) that should keep you entertained: Outriders in the endgame – this is how it continues after the story
This is roughly what the story is about: The Earth is destroyed, and the last remnants of humanity have taken refuge on the planet Enoch. Players take on the role of an Outrider and are part of an elite team that is to explore the planet.
However, upon landing on the planet, the Outriders encounter a strange anomaly storm that causes strange things to happen. Your character gains special abilities but is frozen for 30 years. In the meantime, the rest of humanity settles on Enoch and gradually falls back into old patterns.
You finally awaken amidst the chaos and try to help. Your task is also to track down the origin of a mysterious signal.
This signal initially led people to this planet. Apparently, they see it as the salvation of our species. However, on Enoch, there are numerous dangers, both from humans and from vicious creatures against which you must fight.
You can watch the story trailer here:
This is how Outriders differs from Anthem and others: Unlike other well-known loot shooters like Anthem, The Division 2, or Destiny 2, Outriders will not be a live-service game. This means there will be no season or battle pass. Outriders is not designed for an “infinite” lifespan, as the aforementioned titles.
Outriders is supposed to come to market “finished”. While DLCs are not categorically excluded, the developers emphasize that there are no fixed content plans for the future. The focus is on the story, loot, PvE, and coop battles.
Why we at MeinMMO are currently less convinced about the “finished” state of the game, you can read here: Outriders wants to come as a “finished game” – but the demo does not seem so
