With services like GeForce Now or the discontinued Google Stadia, the game is calculated in the cloud on a Nvidia system and then streamed to your device (laptop, PC, mobile phone). This means you don’t need a powerful computer, let alone free storage space. Because Baldur’s Gate 3 is now a whopping 150 GB.
The principle of cloud services like GeForce Now is quite simple. You link your Steam or Epic account with GeForce Now and can then stream your games through your PC or mobile phone.
Both on mobile and PC, you can then use mouse and keyboard or controller controls. There are now some recommended mobile controllers for gaming available for mobile devices.
What limitations are there? On one hand, the respective game must also be supported. If your game is not supported by the cloud service, you cannot install and use it in the cloud. The co-op game Baldur’s Gate 3 officially supports streaming via GeForce Now.
On the other hand, there is another limitation: You need a stable and fast internet connection. GeForce Now can be used easily at home, but the connection on the go, such as on the train or bus, is often too weak in Germany.
