The team from ArcheAge Chronicles has reached out to the MMORPG community with a positive status update from the internal testing phase.
What does the update reveal? A new internal test for ArcheAge Chronicles took place, where selected players were allowed to try the MMORPG and provide feedback. On X, the developers of the MMORPG are drawing a very positive conclusion:
Quick update from the team — we just ran an internal playtest for ArcheAge Chronicles and came away feeling really good about where things are headed. Some moments with our players had us genuinely grinning!

After the various bad news for the MMORPG genre from last year and the already multiple delays of ArcheAge Chronicles, this is finally good news: The successor to ArcheAge seems to be making noticeably positive progress, is apparently well-received in tests, and the planned release for Q4 2026 could actually become reality.

Why is ArcheAge Chronicles exciting? The new MMORPG from XL Games is the second major MMORPG launch alongside Aion 2 that genre fans can look forward to in 2026. The ambitions are high. The team aims to focus more on a global audience than with the first ArcheAge. Therefore, the focus is on PvE content for solo players and small groups, exploring the game world, and the MMORPG’s story.
Important pillars of ArcheAge, such as trading, crafting, housing, and trade voyages, are returning. The new housing is expected to have its own story and an additional progression system. Furthermore, the developers promise a flexible role system, an action-packed combat system, and a payment model without Pay2Win. All of this makes ArcheAge Chronicles one of the greatest hopes for the MMORPG year 2026.
