According to rumors, Nvidia is reportedly slowing down the production of the GeForce RTX 4070. The reason is said to be poor sales figures. Gamers are already mocking that the poor numbers are not surprising, as the GPU is far too expensive.

With the RTX 4070, Nvidia recently released its newest graphics card. However, the high price of $599 is likely deterring many from buying it. Because the graphics card is available everywhere and stocks are feeling. And that is probably a problem for Nvidia.
The online magazine Tweaktown reports that Nvidia is slowing down the production of the RTX 4070 so that retailers can first sell their stocks. But many gamers are just shaking their heads at this.

What are the reactions like? On reddit, the reactions are not very friendly. Many criticize Nvidia and say that the company must be responsible for the poor sales figures. - “They [Nvidia] should have lowered the prices but have instead paused production. Which probably means they will try to keep the prices up.”
- “So instead of lowering the price to sell more units, they are artificially limiting the number of units to keep the price up. An astonishing example of greed and complete ignorance of the consumer.”
- “They have really dug their own grave. They changed the prices at the last minute and screwed over all the retailers, but they didn’t make it cheap enough to justify an upgrade for users of the previous generation.”
Others explain that the competition in the GPU market is simply too strong now. The times when only Nvidia could offer competitive graphics cards are over.
Nvidia and internal products are competing
What other problems are there? On one hand, Nvidia is struggling with internal competition. Because the 3000 series is still available on the market and is currently a real option for many players when looking to buy a graphics card. Because the time when you had to pay thousands of euros on eBay for a graphics card is over.
On the other hand, the competitor AMD has positioned itself strongly with its own graphics cards. Both the 6000 series and the new 7000 series offer good performance for gaming. You may have to forgo certain features, but you will pay on average 100 to 150 euros less for AMD GPUs.
