Not only op, but broken – A pistol is currently dominating the meta in CoD Warzone

The players of Call of Duty: Warzone are complaining about a handgun that suddenly seems too strong. But what makes the weapon so special?

Which weapon is being discussed? With the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the handgun “Renetti” was also introduced. Since then, it has also been playable in Warzone.

The Renetti initially appears to be a normal handgun, but it has a conversion kit that transforms it into a kind of submachine gun. This allows the Renetti to fire fully automatic – and at a very high rate of fire. As a result, the Renetti now has a better time-to-kill than other strong submachine guns like the WSP-9 or the HRM-9.

Additionally, the Renetti can be equipped with a sight and a 50-round drum magazine, thus surpassing the limits of a regular handgun.

“Currently the best weapon for short distances”

What do the players say about the Renetti? With the start of Season 3, the Renetti in MW3 and Warzone has suddenly gained a reputation as one of the strongest weapons in the game.

The player “G01dberg” writes on Reddit that the Renetti with the conversion kit is like “a cancer that is spreading rapidly and ruining the game.” He believes the “handgun” should be nerfed.

The user “burnSMACKER” adds on Reddit: “This subreddit does not understand how broken this weapon is. It is not just op [overpowered/ too strong], it is broken [broken].”

Even “MotDePasseEstFromage” is convinced of the Renetti’s strength on Reddit: “It is currently the best weapon for short distances with the conversion kit in Warzone.”

Why is the Renetti only considered so strong now? As YouTuber “TheXclusiveAce explains, the conversion kit apparently received a hidden buff days before the start of Season 3.

Originally, the Renetti dealt less damage per bullet when played with the conversion kit than when it was played normally. Furthermore, the horizontal recoil is now presumably lower than before.

However, since these buffs were not mentioned in the patch notes, they could also be an unintended change or a bug. Until more is known, the Renetti is actively dominating the meta.
