The space game No Man’s Sky has received countless updates since its release. The latest update 6.3 introduces unexpected features.
What’s in the update? The developers of No Man’s Sky are introducing their own pets in this update, which can be made to fight against each other just like in Pokémon, improved, and even evolved. The community has lovingly dubbed the update the “Pokémon update” because the little monsters stand out as a highlight for many.
With the update, there was even praise from the Pokémon competitor Palworld, who highlighted the update with the comment “Hold on a second” on X.com. However, in one aspect, No Man’s Sky seems to surpass both Palworld and Pokémon.
Here you can see the new update in the video:
Have fun with genetics
What makes the game better? If you have defeated enough other monsters with your companion in Pokémon, you will eventually be able to evolve it. This is a highlight and unlocks even stronger abilities and stats. While this is quite similar in Palworld, the developers of No Man’s Sky have come up with something unique.
In the space game, monsters do not simply evolve. Instead, you earn experience points in battles that can be used for genetic changes. Rather than letting your monster evolve magically, progress is made through painstaking effort.
What changes genetics? The genetic modifications of your creatures provide many advantages. For example, you can increase a monster’s agility, improving the likelihood of the first attack and evasion.
If you improve the gene for hit points, your monster can withstand enemy attacks longer. However, the damage can also be increased through genetics.
A screenshot provided by the developers also shows that the monsters not only have different stats but also traits like personality traits.
Here you can see the screenshot:

According to the image, you cannot infinitely improve your monsters. The creatures have a limit to the genetic modifications that can be performed. You will likely have to decide whether to create a tank, an agile first mover, or a one-hit wonder.
With the new update for No Man’s Sky, the developers have surprised the fans. For many, the numerous new contents come as a surprise, especially since the title was released 10 years ago: No Man’s Sky brings unexpected “Pokémon update”, even Palworld reacts to it
