On the fourth match day of the GSA League in Rainbow Six Siege, the absolute title favorite faced a promising newcomer. Despite the result, the match was quite close – and the pros really broke a sweat.
How did the fourth match day go? On Thursday, June 4th, the fourth match day of the currently ongoing GSA League took place. After the Pre-Show “The Weekly Breach” at 6:00 PM, the first match took place shortly after, at 7:00 PM. Here are the results:
- DIVIZION 7:4 WarKidz
- mYinsanity 1:7 Team Secret
- FACT Gaming 2:7 G2 Esports
- Turtle eSport 7:3 Rogue
Turtle eSport not only broke their losing streak with the victory over Rogue but also defeated a strong pro team. The colleagues from GameStar take a closer look at the match Turtle vs. Rogue.
The match between the pros from G2 Esports and the newcomer FACT Gaming was the highlight of the evening. Both teams had not recorded a single defeat until that evening. One of them had to lose for the first time.
FACT was even at the top of the GSA League standings up to that point. And even though a result of 7:2 for G2 looks quite clear, the match could have turned out very differently – the pros from G2 were aware of that.

FACT vs G2: “We have to win this”
How did the match play out? From the very first round, both teams visibly fought hard for the victory. FACT Gaming managed to push through to a status of four to two players even before setting the defuser, with one of the last two G2 players having only about 5 health points left.
FACT lost another player before they managed to take down the two remaining G2 players and even won the first round.
It went similarly for the rest of the match. Almost no round ended with more than three or four players alive, and whenever one player was killed, one of their opponents died in return.
After this victory in the first round, defeats began for FACT. Although they repeatedly found themselves in advantageous situations, they never managed to exploit them.
Why did they still lose? The analyst and coach of G2, Kevin “Sua” Stahnke, explains in an interview after the match that this was the reason for the defeat. Whenever they were in the majority, they were ambushed by G2.
FACT were too intimidated by G2, and G2 employed some strategies that the team also uses in professional tournaments of higher leagues. The pros invested more energy in their preparation and ultimately won because of that.
I have to be honest, I talked a big game last week on the GSA podcast with Zander. That’s why I told the guys: We have to win this today, we can’t afford to lose. I was too cocky. Because of this, I prepared more intensively for this game than for all other matches.
The guys [FACT] play well together, good teamwork, but they still lack the drones. […] FACT messed up a lot. They had many “4 against 2” or “3 against 2” situations and then just started playing around […] in 2 against 2, we are simply better.
Sua in conversation with moderator Shatter
The match took place on the map “Border”, which is known for giving weaker teams a good chance. This actually means an advantage for the newcomers FACT. However, Sua anticipated this and likely G2 had prepared better for this reason.
FACT as a strong opponent: “I talked a little too big”
Who is FACT Gaming? Even Sua believes that although the result looks clear at 7:2, they performed surprisingly well.
Previously, FACT Gaming had shown remarkable performances. On the first match day, the team completely crushed their opponent Turtle eSport 7:0. These victories were even against stronger teams. Even Sua expected they would not defeat several strong pro teams one after another:
- On the second match day, they defeated Rogue with a strong comeback – like in a good thriller.
- On the third match day, they defeated Team Secret, the second of three major pro teams in the GSA League.
- Only G2 is now the first opponent they have struggled against – and even that could have turned out differently, as Sua explains:
What are their chances of victory? Compared to all teams in the GSA League, the player Kiba from FACT Gaming only sees himself in fourth place. The first three places for him are G2, Rogue, and Team Secret – of which they have already defeated two.
In comparison to the second newcomer in the GSA League, DIVIZION, the analyst Sua sees FACT having the greatest chances of moving up to the pro league. As long as they achieve a good placement in the GSA League, they surely will have strong career prospects thereafter.
Their previous performance shows, that FACT could become a significant problem for the pro teams in Rainbow Six Siege. Anyone interested in e-sports should definitely keep an eye on these guys. Even the defeat against G2 means more of an opportunity for them to learn and get even better in their current situation. The future remains exciting.
