Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the eighth installment in the Yakuza series. Since the seventh part of the series, Kazuma Kiryu has been replaced by Ichiban Kasuga as the protagonist. A new trailer now gives a brief glimpse of the story of the eighth main part.
What is Like A Dragon about? Up to and including the sixth main part, the series is known as Yakuza, since the seventh part, the subtitle Like A Dragon has been added. In Infinite Wealth, Ichiban not only travels to Yokohama but also to Hawaii.
The Yakuza series is known for its quirky minigames and absurd humor. Anyone who has a problem with men in diapers, dominatrixes, or toilet jokes should steer clear of this series.
Returning characters from the seventh part of the series will be included, and even the protagonist from Yakuza 1-6 will be back in the game. But new faces are also joining, including the famous action actor Danny Trejo as Dwight.
It seems that Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth could be an emotional rollercoaster and herald the end of Kazuma Kiryu, the protagonist of the first six parts. It remains to be seen whether he can defeat his illness in the end.
But Ichiban Kasuga also has his own story to tell as the protagonist. He travels to Hawaii to talk to his mother. However, he gets involved in such crazy events that he even wakes up on the beach in Hawaii without any clothes on.
The rest should behave similarly, so the turn-based combat system is also back. The job system with its funny professions will play a role once again.
When does the game release? Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is set to release on January 26, 2024, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
