The April patch focuses on bug fixes and “Quality of Life” changes. The developers of New World want to solve some annoying issues to improve the game overall. However, the update will be significantly smaller than the previous ones.
What’s in the April patch? The official patch notes for the PTR contain about 50 bug fixes and adjustments. Highlights include:
- The map in cities and outposts now zooms directly in, making it easier to find crafting stations and NPCs
- There is a fix for the gravity well with the war axe
- Upon entering instances, progress banners in crafting are no longer displayed
- Many small objects now lose their collision, so you no longer have to jump over them in the animation
- The bosses in the arena no longer focus on enemies that are not participating in the fight
Additionally, the body-blocking issue will be fixed, which is currently a major trend in dungeons. You hold a boss in a certain place to manipulate its mechanics, such as the cage with the first boss in the Garden of Origin. This makes the fight easier, but many forget the actual mechanics as a result.
There will also be dozens of smaller bug fixes and slight balance adjustments.

3v3 Arenas probably coming in May
What about new content in the patch? The April patch seems to forgo new content according to current information. Many had expected that the PvP arenas would be introduced with this update.
The 3v3 arenas are expected to appear according to the roadmap in “Spring 2022”. May seems to be the last month to which this description still applies.
For the summer, an automatic group finder and a new dungeon are planned, and in the autumn, a new area and the weapon Greatsword will come.
When is the April patch coming out? The patch will be playable on the test servers starting today, April 12 at 7:00 PM. The release is supposed to take place sometime in April, with the time on the PTR being shorter than in previous updates.
