New World offers some professions that you can level up to level 200. In this guide, we from MeinMMO want to explain to you how to level up the woodworking profession particularly quickly and what special tricks you should pay attention to.
What does woodworking do? The woodworker primarily creates items for housing in New World. This includes chairs, tables, and curtains, but also trophies that can provide you with bonuses in the game later on.
How to level woodworking efficiently? Woodworking is relatively straightforward in the leveling process. You focus on purely crafting decorations, which, however, is relatively expensive.
However, there are some recipes that can save you a bit of money. Generally, you should expect costs around 140,000 coins if you haven’t farmed many of the materials yourself. With the recipes, you can reduce the price by about 15,000 coins.
For the cheapest way, you also consistently craft the same items. However, if you want to design your house as colorful as possible, you can always make other decorations, which will increase the price.
Leveling Woodworking – Here’s how
From Level 1 to 50: For the first levels, you should craft ash varnish and then use it for the ash wall shelf. In total, you need 179 wall shelves and the following materials:
- 10,740 softwood
- 895 iron ingots
- 179 ash varnishes (which you must craft yourself beforehand, otherwise you need 186 wall shelves and accordingly more materials)
If you own the recipe for the old straw bed, you can save a lot of money. You need to craft 974 straw beds and need the following materials:
- 974 linen
- 974 feathers
- 1,948 maple varnish
The special thing here is that you can recycle each bed and definitely get 1 linen in return. The total costs for linen fall to 0. On some servers, the recipe is available in the trading post. On Styx, it even cost only 3 coins, which is a really good deal.
Level 50 to 100: If you haven’t unlocked any special recipes, you can craft 63 ash rocking chairs for these levels. For that, you need:
- 945 raw wood
- 630 steel bars
- 63 maple varnish
This will get you to Level 70, where you can then craft common incense. You need 1,239 to reach Level 100:
- 1,239 raw wood
- 1,239 iron scrap
- 1,239 cinnamon
- 2,478 softwood
If you have the right recipes, you can alternatively craft another 284 old straw beds to reach Level 55. Starting at Level 55, you will craft 494 old wooden double beds. For that, you need:
- 494 raw wood
- 494 steel bars
- 410 maple varnish
This will then get you to Level 70, and you can also craft common incense.
Level 100 to 150: If you want to reach Level 150 quickly, the best way to do that is with oak varnish. You need it 3,181 times and the following materials:
- 31,810 effective solvents
- 12,724 oil
However, the costs between oak varnish and common incense are only minimally different, so you can also level through that. The same applies to old wooden double beds if you have the corresponding recipe.

Level 150 to 200: From Level 150 to 200, you can level exclusively with mahogany varnish. For this, you need the varnish 4,953 times and the following materials:
- 49,530 pure solvent
- 19,812 oil
If you want to save money, level only to Level 170 with mahogany varnish and then switch to the reclaimed maritime runner. However, you need a recipe for this and must craft 1,985 of them. For that, you need:
- 29,775 silk
- 9,925 satin
- 9,925 silk threads
In the end, you will only save about 2,000 coins with this, which is minimal compared to the total costs of 140,000 coins.
