If you look at images of the three different factions in New World, you’ll find an interesting headpiece with the Syndicate – the ‘Plague Doctor’ mask. Not only does it look really cool, but it also has useful stats in the fight against the Corrupted. We at MeinMMO will reveal how you can obtain it.
How do you get the mask? The mask is part of the ‘Plague Doctor’ set, which is exclusive to players of the Syndicate faction.
As a prerequisite, you must reach the highest rank in the faction – the Alchemist. You achieve this rank by completing faction missions in PvE and PvP starting from 49,000 reputation points.
Once you’ve reached the highest rank, you can buy the epic armor set piece by piece. The mask costs you 30,000 faction tokens and 800 coins. It can only be worn by players of level 60 and cannot be traded with other players.
All about the ‘Plague Doctor’ set
What stats does the mask have? The ‘Plague Doctor’ mask belongs to medium armor and provides you with the following stats:
- 535 armor rating
- 151 armor against elemental damage
- 113 armor against physical damage
- 22 constitution
- 13 corruption resistance
- 2.6% reduced cooldown
- One free socket for gems
What about the rest of the set? The mask is just one part of the ‘Plague Doctor’ set. It consists of a total of 5 armor pieces. The iconic mask and the robe are also available as heavy armor.

- The chest piece – 45,000 tokens and 1,200 coins
- The gloves – 22,500 tokens and 600 coins
- The pants – 37,500 tokens and 1,000 coins
- The shoes – 15,000 tokens and 500 coins

Set is inspired by 16th-century doctors
Where does the name of the set come from? In the 16th century, the term Plague Doctor was used to refer to the physicians who treated plague patients.
To protect themselves from the plague odor, they would stuff strong scents under their noses. This included the masks with the beak, which are now considered a trademark of these doctors.
