The “Corrupted Love Pack” was supposed to create mood for Valentine’s Day in the MMORPG New World. However, after just 6 hours, the developers had to remove it again. The skins caused massive issues for the players.
What is this pack? The “Corrupted Love Pack” is supposed to bring several skins into the game that are themed for Valentine’s Day on February 14.
The pack includes various weapon skins and furniture pieces and was originally available for purchase in the item shop for real money.
The developers shared some images of the contents of the pack via the official Twitter account. The images show a skin for the bow, the rifle, and the hammer, and you can also see the pink Valentine’s look of the furniture:
Currently, you can no longer purchase this pack. Just 6 hours after its release, it was removed by developer Amazon.
This is linked to massive technical issues that were apparently caused by these skins. Other items were also removed.
New World removes 14 items due to issues
Which items are affected? In addition to the new skins from the “Corrupted Love Pack,” other shop items like the “Angels and Demons” skins are also affected.
A total of 14 skins were removed because they were apparently causing crashes for players. Here is the list (via massivelyop.com):

How are players reacting? Many fans express their frustration with the problems under the Twitter post. Many wonder how such skins could lead to game crashes. While many of them like the game, they wish that the developers could get the ongoing issues under control.
So the mood swings between pity, anger, and frustration. Many describe their relationship with New World as a “love-hate” situation.
When will the items return? This is currently unknown. The developers have not provided any information on the possible waiting time until a fix is available. So we don’t know if the Valentine’s Pack will be online in time for February 14.
Perhaps a fix will come with Patch 1.4, which is set to be released in February and aims to fix many issues but will not bring any new features.
New World merges servers and works on issues
What is the situation in New World? After the big launch at the end of 2021, New World has recently been losing more and more players and has been struggling with several issues.
More and more smaller servers are being integrated into larger ones, thus transferring players from their own servers to other ones. According to the developers, this is expected to continue for now.
The numbers currently lie at a maximum of around 50,000 concurrent players per day. Around the release, these were still over 900,000.
